Hi, and welcome to this quick FAQ for Berlitz Spanish Translator. There's also
a French translator out for the Gameboy, but this title doesn't have a guide,
so, to help out the GB/GBC Completion Project over on the GameFAQs message
boards here's my guide. Berlitz Spanish Translator isn't really a game. It is
more like a dictionary of Spanish words and phrases, catagorised into easy to
find sections. It's actually quite accurate and it even allows you to
translate single words from either English to Spanish, or Spanish to English.

3. Controls

Directional pad - Highlight your selected option and cycle between letters
when typing in a word.
A button - Select a letter when typing in a word.
B button - Back.
START button - Finish typing or proceed to the next screen.
SELECT button - Go to the previous screen you visited.
When you turn on the game, you first have to select whether to use the English
to Spanish option or the Spanish to English option. No matter which option you
select, the game is exactly the same.
There now are four options from you to choose from.
WORDS - This will allow you to type in a specific word and translate it into
Spanish. Once you enter a word, the game will show you the equivelant
word. For example, when I input "apple", the game shows
"manzana (f)". The (f) or (m) specifies whether the word is
masculine or feminine.
PHRASES - Selecting this option will take you to a submenu where you can
select the catagory of phrases to browse through. I'll use the
"Eating Out" section for an example. After selecting that, you are
taken to a menu offering even more specific options. Breakfast,
ordering food, and the menu are all options here. Selecting one of
these will take you to a list of phrases relating to the subject,
and if you select one, it'll show you what it is in Spanish
underneath.
NUMBERS - Selecting this will take you to a numerical keypad. Type in the
number you wish to translate, and press the START button. The
number you typed in will be written out in Spanish. 8565 will be
shown as: "OCHO MIL QUINIENTOS SESENTA CINCO".
CONVERSION - This will let you convert currency and measurments. For currency
you can select different currencies from many different
countries and translate them into Pesetas. Spain uses Euros now,
which makes this completely useless. The Metric option allows
you to change measurements, like Farenheit, into Metric
measurements (aka. Celsius).
That's pretty much all there is to Berlitz Spanish Translator. It's a useful
tool should you be travelling abroad, although it's probably easier to go and
buy a phrase book or a pocket dictionary.
