Starting:
Ok, here are a few things that you might need to know:
- You !MUST! have a version 2.1 Gameshark or higher to
use it on GameBoy color games.
- People say you need to know Hexadecimal, I have a very
little knowledge of hex, and I still am able to make
codes. So don't worry if you don't know it.
- If you make a code wrong, if their is an error in your
code you make, it !COULD! erase all of your saved data.
- When you are holding your GameBoy. Make sure you don't
Tug on your game. You might yank it out of your GameBoy.
And, that could make you mad.
- I will be referring to a button on the top of the Gameshark
It is not the button the says: 'on' and 'norm.' is the
Small one that is just a push button. It, is kinda like
a reset button for the Gameshark.
- And, (I know this is stupid) but make !SURE! that the button
that says: 'on' and 'norm.' is switched to on, if. Well
you want the Gameshark to work. Norm., means the Gameshark isn't on
and just as the name says, everything is running Normally.
- But just turning you GameBoy off and then on again, WILL NOT delete
Your data in the Gameshark. Like, if you have codes entered and turn
your GameBoy 'off' your data will still be stored in the GameBoy
so if you turn it back on, it will still be there.
!BUT! Turning 'off' your GameBoy, !AND! Removing your Gameshark and
game !WILL! delete all your entered codes, etc. So be warned.

3.0 Game Trainer:
This is probably why all of you are here. Well. Here we go!
After you have press button 'start' on 'Game Trainer' if you
have a GameBoy Color, and a GameBoy Color game in it will read:
A=STANDARD
B=GB COLOR
Since it is a GameBoy Color game, you should press button 'B'
If you don't have a GameBoy Color and a GameBoy Color game in
or, if you have an Original GameBoy with a GameBoy Color or
a Regular game, it won't read that. So just read on.
will see the Gameshark Logo and then it will take you to
the game. This whole time through is just for the Gameshark
to read the 'RAM' in you're game. Just play your game for a bit,
or whatever, but make sure you are in the game.
Just make sure not to change anything, like Lives,
health, time, ammo, etc. It doesn't matter how long you are in
this mode for. Just don't lose anything. When you are done
press the button at the top of your Gameshark.
3.1 Second Time Through:
You will then be back at the main Gameshark menu. Press button
'start' on Game Trainer again. You will see the Gameshark logo
and then be moved to the game again. This is where you got to
get creative. You can either LOSE a life, get damaged, lose time,
use magic, etc. and after you do lose something, press the button
at the top of the Gameshark. There are other things you can do.
You can GAIN a Life, Health, MP, HP, gold, etc. Then press the
top of the Gameshark. There is another option also. You can
lose attributes. Like: If you want infinite HP, you can lose gold,
use a potion to refill your MP, whatever. Then you can press the
button at the top of the Gameshark. There is another option to.
It is called 'Different Form' (or Different From I'm not sure)
I'm sorry, I really have never used that before, and never
had needed to.
3.2 First Time trough the process:
Ok. You should be at the Main menu again. If you are not. read
chapter 3.1 again. If you are still confused. Reset and start again.
Ok, if you ARE at the main menu press button 'start' on 'Game trainer'
It will then read:
A=CONTINUE TRAINER
B=RESET TRAINER
If you fill you have made a mistake or wish to hack a different game
press button 'B' if you want to continue press button 'A'
3.3 Still in the First process:
Controls:
D-pad 'down' - move cursor down
D-pad 'up' - move cursor up
D-pad 'right' - move cursor right
D-pad 'left' - move cursor left
Button 'B' - not used (no turning back :)
Button 'A' - not used
Button 'Start' Select Icon
Button 'Select' not used
If you have pressed button 'A' you should be at another menu.
This is what all the little signs look like and what the mean:

More then Less then
======== //
//
======== //
Equal to Different from
Now you must remember what you did on chapter 3.1. If you lost a life,
Get damaged, Lose time, Lose Gold, etc. Then press button 'start' on
'Less then' then it will search for any number that went down in 'RAM'.
If you gained a Life, health, got more gold, then press button 'start'
on 'More then' it will now look for any numbers that went 'up' in 'RAM'
If you had left it the same and changed other attributes
then press button 'start' on 'Equal to' it will then look for any
number that stayed the same in 'RAM'. Sorry for not knowing how to
use Different from. :( Well. After you have select one, it will then
'Search' for any number that went down/up/or is equal to (depends what
you selected) After it is done searching it will then bring up another
page which should have a certain number of Valids, or how many codes
have been produced. but, be warned this isn't our normal digits
if it says 72 it may be talking a different number. or their may be a 107A
or something. Whatever it is, unless it is 1-7, then go to the next chapter.
if it is 1-7 or somewhere around there, then go to chapter 4.2. If it is '0'
you messed up, so reset and start over. After that press button 'start'
3.4 Third time through:
Now, press button 'start' again on Game Trainer. It should read:
A=CONTINUE TRAINER
B=RESET TRAINER
Just as before, if you messed up, or wish to hack another code
press button 'B' if you think you are doing everything right
Just press button 'A'
Now you will be taken to the game, you have many options you can do.
Lets say you originally had 5 lives, you then died or whatever, and
you lives changed to 4, and then you did a 'Less then' Search.
Now, lets say you want to do a 'Less Then' to narrow down the possibilities
Search again. You must now lose !TWO! lives, which then should be 3,
which is less then 4, so you do a 'Less then' Search. Lets say want
to change your ammo, you originally had 9 bullets, you then lost a life,
and then did a 'Equal then' search. And now you want to do a 'More then'
search to narrow down the possibilities. So gain ammo and press the button.
I think you get the point. If you don't Just e-mail me.
After you get done with that you go back and do the same, do a search.
Keep repeating this process until you get a workable amount of possibilities.
Then go to chapter 4.0 view cheats.
*(Notes)*
If you keep doing a 'Less then' or 'More then' search
MAKE sure you lost one more then the time you did before
*(Example)*
If you have 7 health. And get damaged to 6, then you do a
'Less then' search, then the next time, get damaged !TWO!
times and do another 'Less then' search. I wouldn't
Recommend doing it this way. Look at my example
on Turok 1, and Zelda: Links Awakening.

There isn't much to do here then. Ok first of all you will see codes.
Their will be as many as it said an your valids, remember valids? back
in chapter 3.3? Well. They should be lower then that by now. Ok. now
for each code there is numbers next to it. If you look at the code to
right (the one with eight digits) you will see two 'x' in the 3rd and
4th slot. The numbers on the right are the ones that fill them up.
Don't really worry about them yet. Just select one. It really doesn't
matter yet. MAKE SURE you right down ALL of the codes, just incase something
happens.
4.1 Trying out the codes:

button 'Start' and go back to the previous menu, then press button
'start' on 'Start Game' you will then be starting the game. Cross your
fingers. If it seems to be working. Make !SURE! you test it thoroughly
if it says you have 9 lives. and if you die, it does not go down, make
sure you die like 10 times, to make sure it doesn't just say you have 9
lives but really only have 3 or so.
if that code doesn't work. Move to the next one. Press the button on the
top of the Gameshark and go back to the Main Menu, then press button 'start'
on 'View Cheats' and select other ones. !BUT! be warned. the Codes may have
changed since last time you saw them. That is why you wrote them down.
Just go to 'Enter Cheats' and enter the cheats, if you don't now how.
go to chapter 5.0. and if none of them work. Try it again! You will
Get the hang of it, this FAQ is just to help you get started. You
will figure most of it out by yourself. Practice makes perfect. :)
