1.      INTRODUCTION
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, this is my first FAQ ever, so it might explain any signs of
a beginner FAQ writer you see in this FAQ, like the ASCII art.  It's my
first time doing it.

Introduction to the FAQ
-----------------------

At first, my planned first FAQ was going to be about Kirby 64: The
Crystal Shards, but I figured that before I finished there would already
be over five FAQs on it- so I went with a slightly less popular game,
and also a game that I might be better at in comparison with other
people.  I found the perfect game.
I have about 69 stars in this game right now.  I've actually owned
this game for a while because I didn't feel myself to be very good at
the game until now, and also because I played Game and Watch Gallery 2
and 3 more.  I found the Game and Watch Gallery series to be one of my
better areas, and also a very fun and challenging set of games.  It
would be the perfect game to share my experience and knowledge about to
other gamers, since I have realized that probably you (yes you, the
reader) might not have at least 69 stars (and if you do, you might still
learn something from this FAQ).  So then I have decided to aid these
gamers who are probably willing to collect more stars.  If you learn
something from this FAQ, I have accomplished my goal.  If you haven't, I
hope you have found this a fun and interesting FAQ to read anyway.
Mainly, though, I am willing to help gamers on this very difficult but
extremely entertaining Game Boy game.

# these indicate spoilers throughout the FAQ.

Introduction to the game
------------------------

So you're probably wondering how Game and Watch Gallery got its
name.  You see, back in the 80's, there weren't any Game Boys, Super
Nintendos, or Nintendo 64s.  Hard to imagine that people survived in the
early 80's with just the really old and 8-bit games for the original
Nintendo.  Oh sure, there was Super Mario, but the gaming companies
needed something else.  Some genius at Nintendo found the perfect cure:
Game and Watch.
Game and Watch games were hand-held games like the Game Boy, but
each game came with a different set of buttons specially made for that
game.  There were hundreds of Game and Watch games made!  So, if you
were a huge fan of Game and Watch back then, If you kept your Game and
Watch games in the closet, they would take up quite a bit of room!
But these aren't games like you've ever seen before.  Every Game
and Watch game had a point counter that kept track of your score.  You
gain points by doing a certain objective, such as juggling balls,
keeping lions in their cage, catching food with a frying pan, and other
things like that.  But what's different about it is that the game never
ends until you game over, which happens when you make three mistakes.
The graphics of these games were very simple (they'd look funny if you
saw them today), the sound was also very simple (only to detect movement
and point gain), the concept or story may be pretty strange or wacky at
times, but the replay value and the excitement of breaking your high
score... well, let's just say I wouldn't rate it just one star out of
five.  That is why it was a success (but hey- it was the eighties, so
maybe the graphic and sound expectations were that low).
As the games were made, Nintendo made all kinds of new kinds of
game control systems and graphic features.  They came up with Wide
Screen games, Multi-Screen games, games with color, and the Control Pad
we know today.
Now, Nintendo has revived four fantastic Game and Watch games.  In
'Manhole,' keep the pedestrians from falling by holding the manhole
cover below them as they pass.  In 'Fire,' catch the jumping people
escaping from a building that is on fire and bounce them to the
ambulance with a trampoline.  In 'Octopus,' recover the sunken treasure,
but watch out for the giant octopus guarding it!  'Oil Panic' requires
you to catch the leaking oil drips and pass them to your friend outside,
who is ready to catch the oil in a barrel.
These are all really fun games, and some of the most popular, which
is why Nintendo chose these.  And now, these games are better than
before with a modern mode, a modified, usually easier mode with Nintendo
characters like Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Toad, DK, and Wario in them.
There are also the classic games, if you want a look to the past on how
these games looked and how almost equally addicting they are compared to
the modern mode.  There is an easy and a hard mode for both modern and
classic.  It doesn't matter if you've played Game and Watch in the past-
you can look back in the past and see how gamers in the eighties enjoyed
their games.
Of course, there are challenges here.  When you manage to score 200
points in any game, you will receive a star showing that you have
reached the milestone of 200 points.  Milestone stars can be achieved
every 200 points up to 1,000 points.  If you want, you can go over
1,000, but it won't count towards milestones, even at 2,000.  If you can
get 1,000 points in every game, something good may happen...
But don't forget!  Games aren't just about challenge- they're for
fun.  Sometimes you just want to play the game because you're just
bored- but that doesn't necessarily mean that you'll set five new
records!  Don't get mad if you can't set a really good record.
Actually, there is also a sequel to this containing 5 new games,
and even a third edition to this!  They're all very fun, so try them if
you loved this game.  If you thought it could use some improvements,
then those improvements would probably be made in G&W (Game and Watch)
Gallery 2 and 3!

2.      VERSION HISTORY
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Version 1.0 – 8/22/00: Started this FAQ.

Version 1.1 – 8/23/00: Yikes!  I had the wrong margins, so I made
the lines shorter and made a couple of corrections.  Sorry if the lines
looked real bad before.

Version 1.2 – 8/23/00: *Sigh* yet another format mess-up...fixed
it, I hope it's okay now.

Version 1.3 – 11/02/02: It's been ages...anyways, added the last Gallery
title (thanks to Richard Acosta for this piece of info), and some random
editing in the meantime.

Version 1.4 – 10/17/03: Updating the list of sites using my FAQ.  There's
probably another site that I forgot to list 3 years ago, but I have no idea
what it was called anymore.

Version 1.5 – 4/22/05:  Storm Hunter e-mailed me a neat find in Modern
Octopus - you can hold a maximum of 50 treasures at once!  I added that to
the game tips for Modern Octopus.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
3.      BASIC GAME CONTROLS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

There are different controls for each game, but I will explain the
basic controls when you are not playing a game.

Directional Pad: Select game, mode, or title screen choices
Left/Right- See milestones on Game Select screen
A Button: Confirm selections
B Button: Go back one screen

Well, that sure was short.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
4.      GENERAL HINTS AND TIPS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I will include hints and tips for each game in the next section,
but there are some things that you might want to remember in every game.
I have included some advice that you probably should remember,
regardless of the game you're playing.

- You only can have three chances, so be very careful if you're going
for the high score.  Chances to score big are often risky to your miss count.
If you decide to be hasty, you will miss faster.  Be careful, but don't go
too slow or endurance will wear you down as well.

- If you score less than 100 points on a game, a helpful hint will pop
up that may help you get a better score (an alternative to my tips).

- Always be alert!  For instance, in Oil Panic, if you only concentrate
on catching the drips of oil, make sure that the buckets don't get too
full either!

- Adjust to changes in the game.  Every game speeds up as you near the
next hundred, so be prepared to move faster.  This also applies to when
it suddenly gets much slower when you hit the hundred.

- Don't forget about the Interrupt Save feature.  You can do this by
pausing the game and turning the power of the game OFF.  If you're
finding that the game is taking too long and is starting to get tedious,
you can use this option and continue later.  However, make sure that
you're not in a tight spot when you do it!

- Practice!  Some games may seem impossible at first, but with a little
practice, you'll find a way to get 1,000 points on it.  I haven't
completed the game myself, but I know that the remaining games are very
possible with some practice.

- BE PATIENT!  Do not expect to get 1,000 points on the first try on a
game.  It just won't happen.  You'll have to try at least several times
to master the game.  It's also frustrating to not be able to improve on
your high score, but keep on trying.  You may have just been a little
unlucky.

That's all the advice that I can think of for now.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
5.      THE GAMES
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, the games!  Here, I will put the controls, rules, ways to
get points, some hints and tips, and my milestones for each game.

Manhole
-------

Controls:
Directional Pad- move
A button- Move diagonally
Start- Pause

Modern: There are four manhole covers and four holes (two at the bottom,
two at the top), but they are not secured and will fall when someone
walks on them.  Keep the Toads, Donkey Kong Jrs., and Marios from
falling by making sure that the covers are up by moving Yoshi around to
hold up the covers and put them back up if they fall.  If someone falls,
it's a miss.

Hints/Tips for Modern Manhole: It takes extra time to put a manhole
cover up if it has fallen.  When possible, move Yoshi under the Manhole
covers as someone passes by so that he can hold them up.  If you don't
have the time to hold them up, that's OK - the cover will fall, but the
pedestrian won't.  However, keep them up when you can to be more ready
for the next pedestrian that walks past.  If someone starts to fall,
don't panic!  You still have a little time to catch him/her with the
manhole below them, but don't take too long!  Toads walk faster than
DKs, but the DKs take larger steps, so they still go at about the same
pace.  Marios move the fastest, and tend to appear suddenly, so watch
out for them!  In hard mode, more Marios will appear, and there will be
more pedestrians, so it's pretty hard.  Like everything else in the
game, this will take practice to master.  At certain points in the game
(200, 500, and 700, I think), a mole will appear and toss a heart at
you.  Get it, and you can clear one miss if you have any.  The mole
won't appear if you don't have any misses.  If the going starts to get
tough and there are many pedestrians at one time that you can't keep up
with, at least make sure that the manholes are up.  Sometimes, you can
move around very quickly and mindlessly and keep the manholes up most of
the time if you're lucky.  If you see a manhole go down, your first
priority will be to quickly put it back up.  Each time a pedestrian
crosses a manhole safely, it's 1 point.  That's two points for every
pedestrian.

Classic: There is only one manhole cover, and four holes (two at the
bottom and two at the top).  You are holding the cover, and in classic
mode, your logic must be more precise because there is only one cover.
Hold the cover under the pedestrians as they pass by moving the cover at
the correct hole.

Hints/Tips for Classic Manhole: This focuses more on logic, so you can't
get lucky by moving around randomly or not being too accurate here.  The
good part is, there aren't as many people, and no Marios, along with the
fact that no two people cross any two different manholes at the same
time at any point.  The only trick here is to make sure that you are
paying attention to all the pedestrians on-screen (you might be
concentrating on one group so much that you don't see another person
that just appeared on-screen and get a miss), and the most important
part of all: to remember logic patterns when people show up at certain
times in certain places.  Your logic must be exact to go through every
pedestrian crossing in the correct order that they are going to cross
the manholes.  It also helps to know in what order do people appear
onscreen.  You can erase ALL your misses at 300 points, but if you don't
have any misses at 300, from then on, every time a pedestrian crosses a
manhole safely, it'll be worth double the points (2)!  However, this
wears off when you do finally get a miss.  Each time a pedestrian
crosses a manhole safely, it's 1 point - that's 2 points per person.

Fire
----

Controls:
Directional Pad-
    Left/Right- move
A Button- another way to move right
B Button- another way to move left
Start- Pause

Modern: Toads, Yoshis, and DK Jr.'s will drop out of the burning Mushroom
Castle.  Catch them in the trampoline.  They will then fall again to the
right, so catch them again there.  They will bounce to the right again,
so catch them a third time, and they will be bounced into the nearby
carriage where they will be safe.  When you drop someone, it will count
as a miss.

Hints/Tips for Modern Fire: The Toads will bounce the highest, the
Yoshis will not bounce quite as high, and the DK Jr.'s will always bounce
the lowest.  In Hard Mode, you will see more DK Jr.'s, so watch out!  No
matter what character, everyone has a tendency to not bounce as high as
they progress to the right - in other words, they will bounce the lowest
at the right, so it may be something to keep in mind.  Sometimes a Yoshi
Egg will come out of the castle.  If you catch it, it will hatch, and
either a star or a Bob-omb will come out.  A star will reward you with
extra points, but it's a miss if you catch a Bob-omb.  You don't get a
miss if you drop an egg or a star.  This can be very useful to remember -
if you want to play it safe, don't catch any eggs, because it will make
the game less complicated and you will be less likely to get a miss.
The game may seem simple, but it could be one of the tougher games to
master.  Speed and very quick thinking is crucial here- just recently
was I able to get 1,000 points in Fire.  Not only do your fingers need
to be very fast, you must also pay attention to who will fall first.
Get the wrong order, and you're sure to miss.  Thankfully, there are
times that Princess Peach will come onscreen and toss a heart.  If you
can catch it, you can clear a miss!  She only comes at the times you
need her - Peach won't come if you don't have any misses, and only when
you have reached any of the following scores: 200, 500, and 700.
Catching hearts will be _VERY_ useful, so get it, but just don't drop
another character in the process!  Fire can be very frustrating to set a
record on- LOTS of practice is the key to this game!  Every time someone
hits the trampoline, you get 1 point.  Catch an egg for 2 points.  If
you catch a star on your trampoline, you will get 5 points.

Classic: Basically the same as Modern.  People jump from the third or
fourth floor of the burning building.  Catch the people in the
trampoline and progress right to catch them again, then move right once
more to get them to the ambulance.  Drop someone, and it's a miss.

Hints/Tips for Classic Fire: This is even tougher.  Extremely quick
thinking and movement is called for here.  If you make one mistake, it's
hard to get back on track, because when you miss, you can move around,
but that's because the people still in the air will not disappear and
the game will not let you start again, but it will continue and this
usually results in another miss, because the game resumes so suddenly.
As a result, I have not yet been able to get 1,000 points here.  In hard
mode, some people will appear at the third floor and then suddenly jump -
when varies, so keep alert when trying classic hard.  They will jump
much faster than most other people.  You can clear all the misses that
you might have at 200 and 500 points.  Again, this WILL take lots of
practicing to master.  When you catch somebody on the trampoline, it's 1
point - that's 3 points for every person that you get to the ambulance.

Octopus
-------

Controls:
Directional Pad-
    Left/Right- Move
Right- Get treasure (while at the treasure chest)
Up/Down- Another way to move (up is left, down is right and can
pick
                up treasure)
A Button- Same function as right- move right, pick up treasure at the
treasure chest)
B Button- Throw treasure to knock octopus's arm back (only in Modern)
(Note: Throwing your treasure means that you're getting rid of it, and
no matter how much you have, all your treasure will be thrown away.  Do
it only when you need to.)

Modern: Recover the treasure at the bottom of the sea, but watch out for
the giant octopus guarding it!  Evade the tentacles and retrieve some
treasure, then get back to the boat to empty your pockets.  If the
octopus catches you or hits you with ink, you'll miss.

Hints/Tips for Modern Octopus: This is the first game where you have a
choice on how quickly you go, and that answer would be not necessarily
slowly, but at a medium pace.  This will take several tries' worth of
practice before you really get the hang of it.  When you do, it'll be
fairly easy.  Probably the only trouble point in the game would be, not the
times that the octopus fires ink at you, but, in hard mode, when the octopus
fires ink at you – constantly - at the 800's!  If you get hit by the ink, you
won't be blinded or anything, but worse - it will knock you down, and you
will get a miss!  Besides that, endurance and wearing you down will be the
octopus's trick.  Every tentacle has two spots to reach out at except for the
one on the very right- but the tentacles will try to aim for you.  Lure it to
a place you're not planning to go on, then move on.  The tentacle on the
right is slower, so you can use that to your advantage and pick up several
pieces of treasure at a time- but the octopus knows this, of course, and
will make that tentacle as fast as the others as the action heats up in
hard mode.  If the action is slow, you can probably take 4 pieces of
treasure in one trip.  Most of the time you should get 3 pieces of
treasure each trip, though, because you slow down greatly if your load
exceeds 3 pieces of treasure.  At treasure number 7, you'll get even
slower, and at 10 treasures, you get really, really slow!  It's really not
worth it at all!  You may find that throwing treasure is not necessary
if you are careful enough.  If you need to (you will in hard mode), move
back if the tentacle at the far right reaches out to get you in the
middle of collecting treasure.  It's best to wait until the far right
tentacle has just reached out and is going back up to make your move to
collect the treasure.  This will take longer to score high than the
other games, but be patient- remember about the interrupt save if it
takes too long.  Erase a miss at the usual scores for modern, if I
remember right (200, 500, and 700).  For every treasure you collect, you
get 1 point, and for each treasure you return to the boat, you'll get
another 2 points.  For instance, if you get 1 treasure and bring it back
to the boat, it's 2 points.  You will be rewarded with 4 if you bring
two at a time, though.  This works even beyond 12 treasures and 24
points at the boat, but you might imagine how tough it was to test that
out!

Update – Storm Hunter e-mailed me and informed me that you can pick up a
maximum of 50 treasures before having to go back to the boat to earn an
additional 100 points!  Quite an interesting find, even if it's not at all
practical when earning high scores.

Classic: Dodge the octopus's tentacles and collect the treasure that
it's guarding, then return it to the boat.  Continue collecting treasure
to earn points.  If the octopus gets you, you get a miss.
Hints/Tips for Classic Octopus: This is definitely my worst game.  Every
tentacle except for the one on the very left has just one space to
cover, so if all the arms are out at once, there's only one safe spot!
This takes even longer than modern mode because it has smaller bonuses.
However, you never slow down no matter how much treasure you take at a
time.  The tough part is timing your moves because there are much less
safe spots to stand on.  You have to be very careful, and remember that
some of the tentacles take a shorter time to fully extend than others!
If you have missed before getting to 300 points, then two people will
appear in the boat, representing that your misses have been cleared.
I'm not sure what happens when you get to 300 with no misses, but I'm
guessing that it's the point-doubling deal that Manhole offers.  You get
1 point for each piece of treasure that you collect, and 3 points for
returning any amount of treasure that you may have back to the boat.

Oil Panic
---------
Directional Pad-
Left/Right- Move, dump oil if you're at the window
A Button- Switch the buckets in modern mode, same as right in classic
mode
B Button- Switch the buckets in modern mode, same as left in classic
mode

Modern: Catch the leaking oil drips and dump them out the window when
Yoshi is below it.  Both buckets can hold three drips each.  If an oil
drip drops on the floor, it counts as a miss.  If a bucket overflows,
it's also a miss.  Another way to miss is if Yoshi isn't there to catch
the oil that you dump out from the window, and the oil gets poured on
Luigi or Donkey Kong Jr. outside, but this miss is counted separately.

Hints/Tips for Modern Oil Panic: This can either be hard or not too
tough, depending on if you know the trick to it or not.  One thing to
remember is that missing by dropping oil and missing by dumping the oil
on someone is counted separately.  For instance, say you already dropped
two oil drops.  If you then accidentally dump oil on, say, Luigi, your
game will not end.  If you dropped another oil drip, then that would be
a different story.  If you bring two full buckets (six drips of oil) to
Yoshi at one time, then the fireball it spits out will turn into a
block.  Do this by emptying one bucket of oil, then spin around and dump
that bucket as well.  This only works if Yoshi is directly underneath.
If a block has been made on the LEFT, it will linger in the air for a
while before it disappears.  Before it does, if you feed Yoshi another
six oil drips at a time on the same side, another block will appear.
When you get four blocks on the left side, Yoshi will hop up them and
spit a fireball at Bowser, giving you a pretty good amount of points.
If you're playing a serious, record-setting game, I don't advise doing
this, but it's pretty cool to see if you manage to do it.  If you get a
block at the RIGHT, you can get a coin out of it by having Yoshi spit
oil at it.  Don't forget- Yoshi has a long tongue!  He doesn't need to
be directly underneath to have oil dumped at it as long as he is facing
the direction of the oil.  Experiment - Yoshi's tongue is a lot longer
than you may think!  When playing a record-setting game, don't attempt
to get blocks all the time, because sometimes you'll want to deliver
not-so-full pails of oil for safety.  Clear your misses by having Yoshi
blow a fireball at the special block that appears on the right when you
reach 200, 500, or 700 points.  A heart will pop out of it, so catch it!
Of course, this only happens if you have any misses.  For every drip of
oil that you catch in the bucket, you get 1 point.  When you give Yoshi
1 drip of oil, you get 1 point.  When Yoshi has 2 drips of oil at a
time, you get 2 points, and 3 drips nets you 3 points.  However, if
Yoshi gets 4 oil drips at a time, you get 6 points, 5 drips is 7 points,
and 6 drips at one time nets you 10 points as well as a block!  The coin
from the block on the right only gives you a measly 2 points, but if
Yoshi spits a fireball at Bowser, you'll gain a nice 15 points!

Classic: Basically the same, except that you only have one bucket.  If
you fail to catch an oil drip, you get a miss.  The pail can hold 3 oil
drips, and if it overflows, it counts as the same kind of miss.  Dump
the oil out of the window where your friend will be ready to catch it in
an oil barrel.  If he isn't there, you'll dump the oil on someone
outside, and the result will be a miss.  It's counted separately,
though.

Hints/Tips for Classic Oil Panic: Again, misses in the building and
outside of the building are counted separately.  Since you only have one
bucket, there are much less oil drips.  This also makes the game less
complicated and actually a little easier than modern mode.  In both
modern and classic, sometimes it would be a preferred tactic to not go
with full buckets all the time.  In hard mode, two drips of oil on
screen will be a more common scene.  Clear all your misses at 300
points... or if you don't have any misses, a short bonus period with two
people carrying oil barrels on both sides will begin!  When the bonus
period ends, one of the men will go back inside.  Every oil drip that
you catch will be worth 1 point.  Earn 1 point for delivering 1 oil drip
and 2 points for 2 drips at a time, and get a bonus of 5 points if you
deliver a full pail.

6. GALLERY CORNER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, just what is the Gallery Corner, you ask?

The Gallery Corner is a place where you can see the history of some
of the Game and Watch games, such as their release dates, the order that
they were made, and a short description of the game.  You can even see a
little demo of the classic game.  There are some games that you may not
be aware of its existence, so you can learn about them here!  Many of
these can be seen in Game and Watch Gallery 2 and 3.  It's fun to look
at the history of the Game and Watch games, but don't think that you're
going to see all sixteen that easily!  You'll really have to earn them.
You can win up to four Gallery Corner entries per game, 2 for modern, 2
for classic.  For the first entry for either modern or classic, get 400
points in that mode!  If you think you're up to the challenge, if you
get 800 points in a mode, you'll open another entry!  If you're having
trouble getting these, refer to the section above!  I'll give you a
sample of a Gallery Corner entry (sorry if this is a spoiler, but you
shouldn't have too much trouble getting it anyway).
Ah, so you've scored 400 points in modern Manhole?
Congratulations, a Gallery Corner title is yours!  It's the game "Ball",
released in April 28, 1980!  On the upper-left, you can see where it is
in the order the Game and Watch games were released!  It was the first
Game and Watch game, hence the number 1!
That's a sample of a title in the Gallery Corner.  If you couldn't
set a high score, don't feel bad... the Gallery Corner is a good place
to turn to see how much you've accomplished of this difficult game.
It'll make you feel better... trust me.
Here I will list the Gallery Corner games that I have seen.  If you
don't like spoilers, skip this part.  Thanks to Richard Acosta for the
gallery title for 800 points in Classic Octopus.

7. SECRETS
------------------------------------------------------------------------

This section isn't titled secrets for nothing!  This section is the
place where I put spoilers such as the ending!  Skip this part if you
want, but if you REALLY want to, read on.  It's sort of short right now,
though.

Star Mode
---------
If you manage to score 1,000 points on any modern game, a message
will appear informing you that you can play very hard mode, or star
mode.  You can compare the difficulty of star mode to the difficulty of
the game after 1,000 points in the regular game!  There are no stars to
be earned in star mode.

Ending
------
You will get the ending if you get 1,000 points in 4 modes out of
the 16 in the game.  When you get 1,000 points in 8 modes, you'll see it
again.  It doesn't appear when you clear 12 modes, though.  I'm not sure
what happens when you get every single milestone star in the game.

8. MISCELLANEOUS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you thought there was anything I was missing in the FAQ, you'll
find it here.  Here, there will be useless stuff that might not help
you, but they might be interesting to read about.

Hints
-----

In the hints and tips section, I mentioned that if you got under 100
points in a game, a useful hint will pop up that might help you get a
better score.  I'll list them here as simple, short alternatives to my
tips.

Modern Manhole: Try not to let the manholes drop.  Use the A Button to
move diagonally.

Classic Manhole: Pedestrians on the top and bottom step alternately.
Don't mistake which will step first.

Modern Fire: Learn how each character will fall when they jump.  If you
know their timing it's easy.  Now, shoot for 200 points!

Classic Fire: Everyone falls at the same speed.  Catch them in the order
they jump.

Modern Octopus: When it gets tight, throw treasure with the B Button to
knock his (the octopus's) legs back.

Classic Octopus: Remember how far the legs reach.  There's a safe place
even if all the legs are out.

Modern Oil Panic: Novices should empty the pail before it gets full.
Once you have it down, try giving Yoshi a full one.

Classic Oil Panic: You can miss two times each on both the top and
bottom.  Every drip of oil you dump, earns more points.

Gameshark Codes
---------------

Thanks to Game Software Code Creators Club for this Gameshark Code!

Infinite lives/misses in Manhole, Fire, and Octopus, modern and classic:

Other Codes
-----------

Pressing A, B, Start and Select simultaneously during a game takes
you back to the title screen.  Any others?  Nope.

If you can think of anything else to put on this section, please
let me know.

9. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What happens when you get all of the 80 possible milestone stars?
A: I have no idea; I only have 69 at the moment.  I might get back to the
game after getting back in the G&W mood with Game and Watch Gallery 4, but I
doubt I'll get all of the stars anytime soon.

11. CONTACT INFORMATION
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you'd like to e-mail me at [email protected], just remember a
few things as you're typing up your letter.

Here are some types of e-mail that I'll accept:

- Any contributions or tips.
- Any other museum titles (just the title, please!)
- Compliments if any, but it would probably be ignored if it's about ten
words.
- Complaints, but if you don't tell me what I did wrong, the letter will
be ignored.
- You can tell me if you have a better score on any game, but if you
don't add any of the above it would just waste my time and would probably be
ignored.

Here are some types of e-mail that I WON'T accept:

- Huge spoilers, such as what happens when you get all 80 stars.  I
don't like any spoilers that would take out the fun element of
surprise when I get there, like many other people.
- Rude letters, in a variety of subjects, like complaints, letters that
say that you got better scores, and maybe even contributions (ex:
beginning with: "I don't believe you were dense enough to miss
this...").
- Anything I might have said above.

If you see something I might have forgotten, tell me, but please.  Use
common sense for the most part.

13. CLOSING OF THIS FAQ
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's my first FAQ!  I hoped you learned something about this game
by reading this FAQ, and even if you didn't, I hope you enjoyed reading
it.  I'm not sure what game should I start writing a FAQ of, but I'm
thinking of Game and Watch Gallery 3.  I'll try to make my next FAQ as
thorough, accurate and useful as this one!
