Welcome to another FAQ of mine. This one covers the GameBoy Color game named
Las Vegas Cool Hand. This game is actually, in my opinion, a bit of a misnomer.
It was intended to include a number of card-based gambling games - blackjack,
baccarat, poker, and so on. However, really, only one true gambling card game
made it into this game - a poorly themed and poorly named one but, at the root
of it, it is a fair game.

General Rules
-------------
(These rules are the rules for general card game of blackjack. There are a few
varying rulesets, which are covered at the next portion of this section.
In this game, begin by placing a bet in front of you, between the minimum and
maximum, on the table.
The people at the table and the dealer will then each get two cards.
You and dealer each get two cards. Your two are shown; only one of the dealer's
is. Your goal is to get to 21 or as close to it as possible. You do so by
adding the values of your cards, as shown below.

If you have a 10-value card and an Ace at the start, you get a Blackjack, which
is famous in casinos for the saying "Winner, winner, chicken dinner." But, all
kidding aside, your total payoff is 2.5x the original bet (where your profit is
equal to 1.5x the original bet).
If you or the dealer go over 21 (22+), the one who went over (busted) loses.
Initially, you can "Surrender" - this forces you to lose the hand if you think
you'll lose, but you only lose half of your bet.
Otherwise, after you receive both cards, you should "Stand" with what you have
(stand), or "Hit" to obtain another card for you. The dealer, who cannot hit
above 18, I think, will then deal his hand. Whoever doesn't bust or the one
with the best hand wins. If you win, you get a profit equal to your bet.
You also have the option to double. In doing so, you will double your bet, at
the cost of one thing - only getting a single card on this hand given to you.
The dealer deals his hand, etc. If you win, both bets receive the correct
amount of money. If you lose, you lose both bets.
If you end up with two equal-value cards, you can play two hands at once. Do so
by splitting. The hand splits into two other two-card hands. You may split once
more if desired/possible. Each hand plays separately and is not affected by the
others.
If the dealer shows an Ace, you may buy insurance (I rarely do). To do so, you
place a bet less than or equal to ONE HALF of your original bet on the
insurance line. If the dealer does have blackjack, the insurance is paid 2:1.
If not, you lose that bet and the hand continues as previously described.
For once, I can give tips:
- Whenever the dealer shows a card, assume the other is a 10-value, as it is
four times more likely to be such versus other cards.
- Never buy insurance. Out of the 13 other possible cards (not counting suits),
9/13 (~69.23%) will not deal blackjack.
- Never split 10's. Always splits Aces and 8's.

| It is possible in this game. It's just hard to do here, but you can. |
| Imagine that cards 2 - 6 add a "point", and 10, Jack, Queen, King, and |
| Ace subtract a "point". Everything else does nothing. This is the Hoyle |
| Casino system, anyways. The higher your "points", the more likely it is |
| for you to get a blackjack. Just saying. |

| As for how to use this, it is not a perfect system, but... If the true |
| count is zero or lower, bet 1/12 the max. From there on out, increase |
| to 2/12 at +1, 3/12 at +2, etc. At +8, go for 10/12 the max, then go for |

Some Terms We'll Use...
-----------------------
FOUNDATION: The place where you move cards to in a specific order.
RESERVE PILE: Random temporary storage place for cards.
STOCK PILE: A deck from which you may choose cards. It is face down until you
click on it, then you see (usually) three cards, with only the top
one being usable.
TABLEAU PILE: A single pile of usually-face-up cards you may sometimes choose
from.

Klondike
--------
Goal: Build the foundations up from Ace to King, in suit.
Setup: The game begins with twenty-eight cards dealt to seven tableau columns.
The first column has one card, the second two cards, and so on. All
cards are face down except for the topmost card of each column, which is
face up.
How to Play:
Move cards from the tableau to the foundations, building the foundations up
from Ace to King, in suit. You can build tableau columns down in alternating
colors. Single cards and packed cards can be moved between columns. Empty
columns can only be filled with Kings (or packed cards starting with Kings).
Use the stock pile to flip cards three at a time; the upcard can be played to
a foundation or a tableau column. You can redeal as often as you like.

Eleven's
--------
Goal: Play every card by covering up cards so that you continue to make sums of
eleven.
Setup: It slowly becomes a deck plus a 3x3 set of foundations.
How to Play:
You will probably begin by laying down a few cards in the green space with
A or B. Whenever you see two cards whose sum is 11 (Aces are one, face cards
have no value), press A/B on both of them to remove them. You can also remove
whole columns/rows of face cards in a similar manner.

Monte Carlo
-----------
Goal: Remove all cards by removing adjacent cards of equal values.
Setup: A 5x4 tableau.
How to Play:
Simply find two cards of equal values that are touching horizontally,
vertically, or diagonally, then select them. The gaps will be filled by
other cards in the tableau being pushed left and up as needed, and then new
cards fill the gap. This repeats until all possible combinations have been
completed.

Calculation
-----------
Goal: Build the foundations up, regardless of suit, according to a defined
numerical order for each foundation.
Setup: The game begins with four foundations. An Ace, 2, 3, and 4 are placed
in a column next to the foundations as “guides” to remind you of the
arithmetic differences by which the foundations are built up. (For
instance, the 3 row is built up by threes, starting with 6.) There are
five empty tableau columns.
How to Play:
Build the foundations up, regardless of suit, in the order below.

Section Six: Cribbage **VEGAS_6**

The game is fairly similar between six- and seven-card cribbage.
You begin with a "cut for the crib" - in other words, you get a card and
whoever is higher (Aces are low) wins).
Next, you get your hand of cards. Pick two cards to go to the "crib". These
will be used later for the person who has the crib. One card is then cut from
the deck by the person without the crib. This card is made available to all
players. If it is a Jack, two points are scored for "HEELS".
Now, each player should have four (or five) cards in their main hand. The
one without the crib, then the other dude, will play cards alternatingly until
no cards remain. This will keep on adding to the total, which may not go over
31. If you are unable to make a play to prevent such, you say "go" and the
other person plays. When both players cannot play, the cards are turned over
and the total returns to zero.
At this point, hands are revealed and points given for a number of hands. After
this, the crib swaps players, play begins again, and this loops until a
predetermined score (usually 121) is reached. The hands:
