[HELP]
Beethoven is a platforming game, with the main character of Beethoven
being able to walk around, and jump and fall. He also has a single 'attack' that
he can use when his fur is wet. Overall, Beethoven's 2nd is fairly standard
cookie-cutter fare, so if you have played any 2D platformer ever, then it should
not be hard to adjust to Beethoven's 2nd.
The main 'gimmick' of the game is the 'Mayhem Meter'. Beethoven must go
around each level, causing general mayhem and destruction. Each chaotic action
he causes fills up the Mayhem Meter. He must fill up the Mayhem Meter to finish
each level.
--------
Controls
--------
Up - Combine with either Left or Right to push an item
Left, Right - Move around
Down - Crouch (when on an escalator, crouching will stop the escalator)
A - Jump. If you are idle for too long and Beethoven begins to scratch himself,
A will not make him Jump, but it will make the animation cancel.
B - Shake water out of his fur (only when his fur is wet)
Start - Pause
-----
Items
-----
Beethoven Head - Extra life
Bone - Extra heart
Water - When collected by Beethoven, he can later shake it off to injure a foe

[WALK]
---------
LEVEL ONE
---------
Start off the level cautiously walking right. Wait until the person on
the platform above is done welding before running past him. Headbutt the first
rivet in the steel support by jumping right before you hit the beam to knock it
out (ie. you cannot just run into it). To hit the rivet above it, do a short
running jump at it. This can take several tries to succesfully pull off.
Continue and hop onto the rising platform when it comes down, then jump
onto the next platform to make your way up to the third floor of the
construction zone. Walk left, avoiding the welder's sparks. Wait for the right
of the two men to throw a bag to the left man, then quickly walk past. Drop down
the hole at the end to the second floor.
Go right, and pop out the two rivets to take out the beam from the steel
support. Inside, knock the first rivet from the top. When knocking out the
second, the beam will fall down, so quickly run Beethoven out of the way. Stop
in front of the water pipe to get Beethoven wet. When the dog is wet, you can
press the B button to make him shake the water off.
Backtrack left, and go back up the platform. Head right, avoiding both
the bags being slung around and the welder guy, and wait for the higher platform
to arrive. On the fourth floor, go left past another set of bag guys, ignore the
platform, and you should come up to some logs. Use the logs as extra height
leverage to hit the two rivets up top.
Take the platform up to the fifth floor, and hop off to the right. Go
underneath the welder and take out the two rivets in the wall, before going
left. Eliminate the two rivets in the ceiling here, then continue on left and
jump onto an elevator that moves you up another floor to the sixth. Jump up
again to go to the seventh floor.
Up top, go right, avoiding the welder, and knock out two more rivets. Go
back down to the sixth floor. Down below, take out the lone rivet in the beam to
your right. Walk slowly past the wooden floor. Use the Down button to crouch
whenever the lower butterfly enemy comes towards Beethoven, then run past it.
Take the right of the three elevators, then hop onto the next elevator
going up when you get towards the middle. Jump towards the center platform, then
hit the two rivets at the top. Get onto the left platform, then continue onto
the floor. Hit the two rivets in the ceiling here, then go left and up the
elevator.
On a higher floor still, go right and take out the two rivets. If you
have taken out all the rivets described thus far, you should be done already.
Otherwise, go on a bit further still, and take an elevator up, and jump off to
the left. Step in front of the crane and use the B button to shake water off in
front of it, destroying it. Run left past the worker, and take the elevator up
in front of the worker. Push left and up at the same time on the bucket of water
to hit the worker, ending the level.
---------
LEVEL TWO
---------
Head right and get some pepper from the bag. Drop off the stove and go
right, avoiding the random stuff the chef throws out. Jump right above the chef
to dodge the junk. Repeat this for a second chef, until you get to a table. Wait
for the waiter boy to come back towards Beethoven before jumping over him.
Continue on running past the tables, as you will now encounter
customers. None of them can damage or harm Beethoven, so just continue on
running past, until you get to the bottle. Press right and up on the bottle to
send it over, popping the wine cork out which will hit the waiter (this will
account for over half your 'mayhem' meter). When you hit the end of the long
hallway, take the elevator and go up (do not fall, or else you shall lose a
life).
Head left, getting past another waiter boy. At the next table, with a
lone man seated, stop right on front of his plate and hit the B button for
Beethoven to dump the bottle of pepper on the man's plate. After this, proceed
to walk left again, hopping over more tables, while ignoring the customers.
Eventually, you should come to a bucket on the ground again. Push against the
bucket left while also pressing the up button until it falls over.
Jump into the puddle of water, and press Down before you land for
Beethoven to slide and hit the waitress woman. Continue to walk all the way to
the end and grab a Beethoven head for an extra life (plus something that gives
you 3000 points). Now, go all the way back to the right, and go back to the
first floor. Hit the waiter with the wine cork from the bottle if you still have
not yet done so to fill up half your Mayhem meter, and it is mandatory for this
next little bit.
Go left a bit, and you should find a lady who has a bag of pepper on the
table. If you did not knock the waiter out yet, there will be a pot instead, so
go and knock the waiter out if that is the case. Come back and grab some pepper.
Now, only certain customers in this stage are susceptible to pepper, and you
already got the first person on the second floor (if you were following this
FAQ), so the following should be hit with pepper.
1) The man at the table to the direct left of the table with the pepper
2) The center man at the table to the direct right of the pepper table
3) The first man on the second floor (listed already)
4) The second man on the second floor, alone at the long table
5) Both men at the small table on the second floor
6) The last man before the wall divider on the second floor
Once you get all seven of them, that should be satisfactory for your
Mayhem Meter to finish the level. Make sure that you are actually out of Pepper
before going to retrieve some more.
-----------
LEVEL THREE
-----------
In this level, you have to smash bottles over by pushing them in a
direction with that D-Pad button and the Up button to smash them. However, if
you do not do this, then your Mayhem meter will 'recede'. After you finish each
quarter of the gauge, the meter will not retreat beyond that gauge, but you
still need to go fast. However, the bottles will respawn in set locations if you
move far away enough from them, so after you do a round-about tour of the level
you should be able to finish it off easily.
Start by walking right and jumping over the shopping cart with the baby
in it, while dodging the fruit it throws out. Hop onto the shelf, then go right
some more.
Stop right where the fridge is, and look to your right. You should see a
line ending off in some meat grinders. Go right, and you should see a carcass
coming to the grinder. Quickly run back left to where the fridge is. Once two
carcasses have been grinded up, quickly run right, dodging the scraps the deli
man throws around, and hop onto the shelf.
Move right, and jump over the shopping cart. Walk over to the next
shelf. Ignore jumping up any of the railings, and instead drop down to the right
to a shopping cart. Push right + up on it to make it move, and have Beethoven
jump onto it. As soon as it hits the tank, jump off so Beethoven does not get
injured by the lobster that jumps out. Go left back past the shopping cart.
Jump onto the railings, and go up. Look to the pipes above to see a
valve that drips water. Sit underneath it for Beethoven to get wet. Head right,
where you should encounter a cleaning lady. Use the B button for Beethoven to
shake the water off and take the lady out. Continue right until you get to some
bottles, and push them off the ledge.
While still on top of the railings, go back left, until you see some
bottles on the top. Push these off, then drop down to your right and then left
slightly for some more bottles. Push them off here, then jump back up and then
to the left side again, and continue on left. Take out a second cleaning lady on
your way left until you get to some more bottles. Push them off.
From where you should be, head left, and jump onto some more railings.
Take out another set of bottles. From that area, make a high jump up to your
left, and grab some water from the open valve. Continue left, taking out another
cleaning woman, then drop down to the left. Take out these bottles, then drop
down to your right and take some more bottles out.
From here, drop down to the floor, go right to a shelf, and hop up and
take out a respawned set of bottles. If you still are not done yet, you will
have to go around and take out bottles as fast as you can until you successfully
fill up your Mayhem meter, finishing the level.
----------
LEVEL FOUR
----------
Start off by grabbing the steak flipped up by the first kid. Go right,
and dodge the squirrel that tosses a nut into the air that bounces up while
grabbing a second steak. Continue on, and avoid a football in front of the third
barbecue - once it hits the ground, it will bounce down to the left. Head right
again to hit a fourth barbecue. Avoid a squirrel once you jump to grab the
steak.
Walk back to the beginning of the level, where the hole is in the
ground. Drop down to the underground. Go left for a 3000-points item, then start
running right. Hop onto platforms as quickly as you can to avoid the ground
enemies, and crouch to avoid the dive-bombing birds that occasionally fly by.
When you first see a valve dripping liquid, do NOT try to touch it, as
this is toxic water that shall harm Beethoven. Instead, jump across it to the
next section. Quickly make your way to the end of the underground area, avoiding
the enemies and water where possible, and grab the bone to recover a heart. Jump
up to the left onto the ledges, and continue on left along the ledges until you
get to a moving platform. Take it up to the right side of the aboveground area.
Up here, walk right, and grab a steak from the kid. Run over and grab
another steak from the next kid. Hop over the fence to where the pile of dirt is
(be careful, as it is an electric fence that will injure Beethoven if you touch
it). With Beethoven, press the B button dig the dirt, and repeat this for about
a minute - jump back over the fence whenever the patrolling man comes back to
Beethoven to avoid injury. When you finish the hole, you should have
successfully filled up your Mischef meter.
----------
LEVEL FIVE
----------
In this level, you will have to grab newspapers as kids on bicycles ride
by throwing them. Except for the first house, however, you have to go ahead a
bit of the house to make the newspaper boy show up, then retreat, while keeping
the boy onscreen.
Start the level off by walking in front of the sidewalk to the first
house. When the newspaper kid comes by on his unicycle, jump into the air to
grab the newspaper he throws out. Head right to the next house, stopping in
front of the house door (not the garage door), and grab another newspaper when
the bicycler comes around.
Continue on right. At the large manor, a newspaper kid will not come
around, so do not bother waiting around. Jump onto the toy truck, and when it
goes to the right, use it to clear the large brick wall. Stop in front of the
double doors to the next house to get another newspaper. Continue on right,
ignoring the next house, and jump over a couple of garbage cans.
Avoid the kid on the skateboard, then go onto the small layer of bricks
to get the newspaper boy to show up. Retreat to the house and get the newspaper.
Head right, skipping the next house, and jump over another skateboarder. Skip
the next house, and jump onto the truck, and go up the brick wall. Continue
along, going past yet another skateboarder.
When you make it past the house with the double car garage, hop up on
the garbage can, then move back a slight bit to get another newspaper. Skip
along past another RV-toy playing kid and another skateboarder, and the house
right after that will get a newspaper delivered. With that, you should be done
the level.
---------
LEVEL SIX
---------
Jump over the cabinet, then head right and jump over the next cabinet.
Hop over the guard dog, then continue right and up a floor via the rising
elevator. Up top, head left, clearing another guard dog. Jump onto the second
desk to get a key. Continue left and up the next elevator.
On the third floor, head right a few pieces of furniture, then jump up
onto the top ledge with the wheelbarrow. Push it right (Up + Right buttons).
Once it hits the ground and rolls over, it will catch the guard's attention.
This will send him offscreen. Follow behind him going right, and head up a
floor. Go left on the fourth floor, and press the B button in front of the cage
to unlock the cage.
After a short rescue animation, head left, ignoring the second cage, and
go back down to the third floor. Go onto the top platform with the wheelbarrow
again, and push it right. Drop down and move at the guard's backside, until you
get close enough to get his key. Go back up to the fourth floor and free the
other dog.
Go onto the left elevator that goes down to the third floor. Wait until
it goes as high as it can, then press down to crouch - this causes the elevator
to stop. Wait until the elevator going between the fourth and fifth floor comes
down, and jump onto it. Hop right off onto the fifth floor.
Walk right and hop over the desks. Clear your jump over the guard
sitting down, and land on the TV. Jump up and down on the TV set until the guard
gets up to examine the TV. Grab the key from his seat, then head left to the
elevator. Go up to the sixth floor (use the same crouch trick as before). Free
the first puppy from the cage immediately after getting off, then head left and
go up to the seventh floor.
On the seventh floor, go and hit the block. It will turn the power off
for several seconds. Quickly run to the right, dodging the outlines of the two
guard dogs. You should see a key being tossed around at the end. Grab the key
and run left before the power turns back on to avoid the guard. Head down to the
sixth floor, go right to the second cage, and free the last dog to end the level
and the game.

Other than that, considering this FAQ is for an obscure old game, if you
have any other obscure old games that you do not play anymore, consider sending
