1. What is Asteroids?
*********************

Asteroids is a game where you move around and shoot incoming asteroids.
If an asteroid hits you, then you lose a life. The objective is to boost
up your score. You get points everytime you hit an asteroid.

********************
2. Controls/Options
********************

To start the Asteroids game, select "Asteroids" at the starting screen
when it asks if you want to play Asteroids or Missile Command.

You have a few options when you get to the Asteroids select screen.

Start -- Press the start button to start the game.

Select -- This takes you to the options screen. At the options screen,
you have a couple of options.

*Controls -- You can choose between different control types.

~ Option 1 ~~
Hyper -- 'A'
Fire -- 'B'
Thrust -- 'Up'

~~ Option 2 ~~
Hyper -- 'Down'
Fire -- 'A'
Thrust 'B'

*Graphics Style -- You have the option to pick between "Updated" or
"classic". Updated is the new look and classic is the older version
look. Personally, I like the updated look.

Difficulty -- To select the difficuly you want, push right on the control
pad to increase the difficulty and leftto decrease it.

Easy = 1 asteroid
Medium = 2 asteroids
Hard = 3 asteroids

#############
Controls
#############

This game has 3 different type of controls.

Hyper -- Makes your ship invisible and sends it up to the other side of the
screen. Good to use if a lot of meteors are heading your way.

Fire -- Your ship fires projectiles at the asteroids.

Thrust -- Speeds your vehicle up.

The controls are determined by either you have option 1 or option 2 on in
the control section of the option screen.

#############
Difficulty
#############

This game has 3 different difficulties which I will explain below.

Easy -- The asteroids are slow and there are very few asteroids.

Normal -- The asteroids move at a normal speed and there an average
amount of asteroids.

Hard -- The asteroids are fast and there are more asteroids to shoot.

3. Tips for Asteroids
*********************

Although I can't write a walkthrough for Asteroids, I can give you some tips.

- When you shoot a big asteroid, it will split up into a smaller
asteroid, so  watch out!
- The projectiles that you shoot out of the screen boundaries bounce back in,
don't worry though since they don't harm you.
- To move onto the next area, you must shoot EVERY asteroid.
- Watch out for UFO's...they shoot projectiles at you!
- Use the hyper button if asteroids are coming close to you.
- Watch when you use the hyper button! You might end up in a place you
don't want to end up at.
- If you leave the screen boundaries, you will be pushed back towards the
sides, this applies to asteroids too!
- Make sure you shoot EVERY asteroid!

Now onto Missile Command!

*********************
4. What is Missile Command?
*********************

Missile Command is a game where you use two tanks to defend different
locations from being destroyed. You have six building like structures
to defend from the incoming swarm of enemies. Your two tanks must destroy
the swarm from touching the tanks and the buildings. Once you defeat the
swarm, you can move onto the next level. You are rewarded for swarms you
destroy PLUSs buildings that are in tact. You also have a limited amount
of missiles too!

The different locations you must protect are: new York, London, Egypt,
Moscow, and Sydney. This is basically how the screen looks:

                  __
                 (__) <- UFO
\
\              |
 \             |
  \            |                          /
   \           |<- Enemy Swarms          /
    \          |           |            /
     \         |           |-------->  /

     Tank #1                   Tank #2
      |         __             |
      |        (__) <-- UFO    |
      v                        V
__        __   __   __   __        __

|  | /  \ |  | |  | |  | |  | /  \ |  |

5. Controls
*********************

A -- Fire the tank on the left.
B -- Fire the tank on the right.
Control Pad -- Move the cursor to where you want to aim at.

That's the right...that is the controls.

6. Missile Command Tips
*********************

This section is used to give tips ot help people beat Missile Command. Since
it's not possible to type a full FAQS.

- Use both of your tanks as a team. This will help you to defeat swarms of
enemies.
- Always look at your missile count!
- Don't worry about swarms that will hit no buildings. They will do no harm.
- To get rid of a swarm, fire a missile before it. When one of the swarm hits
the...explosion cloud, then it will start to diminish and dissapear.
- For every new location you move to, your points are are increased by X?
For example:
Cairo = X1
New York = X2
London = X3
- Hitting satelites will give you extra points.
- The more you progress, the greater the speed of the swarms and amount of
swarms there will be.
- The bigger the explosion cloud, the longer the explosion will last.
- Don't worry if you lose some buildings...just protect the remaining ones.

7. Levels
*********************
This section is fo the various levels in Missile Command. While I can't
exactly write a walkthrough, I can give some tips for each level. I will
break the levels up like this...

Difficulty: I will do it on 1-5 scale.
1 = Very Easy
2 = Easy
3 = Normal
4 = Hard
5 = Very Hard
#  of Buildings: This means the number of buildings you should have at least
when you begin this level.

===================
Level 1 - Egypt
Difficulty: 1/5
# of Buildings: 6
===================

This level should be easy for you. There are not a lot of swarms of enemies.
It might be challenging at first if you are new to the game. Most of the time
the enemies come to the right of the screen first then start
coming down to the left.

===================
Level 2 - New York
Difficulty: 2/5
# of Buildings: 6
===================

You should have all your buildings for this level.THis level is a little more
challenging then Egypt. This swarms of enemies move faster and the swarms
break up when you shoot them. THis is where you start using your
weapons as a team. Not bad overall though for a level.

===================
Level 3 - London
Difficulty: 2/5
# of Buildings: 4
===================

You might have lost some buildings now from the last level. Don't worry
about it though. just make sure you protect your remaining buildings you have.
The swarm of enemies move like the last level, but this time they cluster
together so a couple of missiles might need to be used to take them down.
Also the UFO's appear.  They are easy to get rid of though. Just shoot a
missile and bam! They are gone.

===================
Level 4 - Sydney
Difficulty: 3/5
# of Buildings: 3
===================

This is where it gets more challenging! There are more swarms of enemies and
UFO's. The swarms move faster and group together which takes more missiles
to defeat  them. Another thing I noticed about the UFO's is that they now move
in a zig zag  pattern so aiming at them is a tad harder. Only protect your
buildings from incoming swarms. Don't worry about swarms that are about to hit
the ground.
;)

===================
Level 5 - Paris
Difficulty: 4/5
# of Buildings: 2
===================

Holy crap. This level is insane. The swarms of enemies move faster than the
speed of light in this level. THere are way more UFO's and way more swarms of
enemies. This  time the UFO's are moving around everywhere. Just protect the
buildings of yours that are remaining. Also always look at your ammunition.
You might run out of ammo fast in this level. If you do what I said above,
then this level won't be so bad.

===================
Level 6 - Moscow
Difficulty: 5/5
# of Buildings: 1
===================

Ah! The final level. This level is insane. Now you have jets that drop
bombs over  your buildings. The swarms of enemies are insanely fast!
You need to be a quick shooter in this level. YOu think the jets and
swarms are bad enough?  THere are so many UFO's in this level, that it
will make you scream. Suggestion?  Shoot  missiles over your building!
You don't have time for a strategy.

You need to protect your building. This level is where the team
target comes into play. The UFO's are quite tricky in this level,
so don't waste all your  ammunition on them. You can shoot the jets that
fly over too. That will save you a lot of ammuntion and you don't have to
worry about the bombs! Good luck on this level!
