Puzzle Mode Guide v.1.05

** READ THIS FIRST!!! **
This game's puzzle mode is not particularly difficult.  Since it's not as
fulfilling to accomplish a task using a FAQ, I would suggest that unless you're
totally new to Worms games, you should try for a while to figure out these
puzzles on your own.  If you're TOTALLY stumped, well, then hopefully something
in here can help you out.  But you've been warned.

Also, though this FAQ will give solutions to all puzzles in the game, by no
means is it comprehensive.  The bulk of this FAQ was written over the course of
a single evening, and there are undoubtedly many alternate methods that never
occurred to me.

And now the puzzles:


Puzzle 1:
1. Firepunch the enemy that's right next to you.
2. Drop dynamite off the left edge to kill the enemy below you.
3. Shoot the enemy to the left with the bazooka
4. Throw a grenade into the hole the worm to the right is hiding in.
5. Use an airstrike on the worm to the far left.

Puzzle 2:
1. Jump across all the mine pits.
2. Backflip over the oil drums.
3. Jump onto the next mine, then quickly do the same for the next mine, then
  jump over the gap and get the crate.
4. Walk to the very edge and drop the dynamite onto the oil drum.

Puzzle 3:
This one requires good aim and control of velocity, but fortunately you have
infinite ammo.
1. Face right and aim up at about a 80 degree angle to avoid hitting the
  outcropping immediately above you.
2. Fire at about half power.
3. Now change your aim to about 45 degrees and fire at about 3/4 power.

Puzzle 4:
1. Backflip onto the ledge to the right and get the item.
2. Place the girder over the pit so you can jump across it.
3. Jump or backflip onto the girder, go across it, and get the crate.
4. Use both blasts from the shotgun to blow through the wall.  Don't get too
  close to the wall when you do this.
5. Get the health crate and drop down.  You'll take damage, but that's what the
  health was for.  Get the next item.
6. Use the jetpack to get above the exit and get the item and crate there.
  Press A to turn it off above the exit.
7. Get fairly far away from the exit so you won't get hurt and use the bunker
  buster on the exit.
8. Drop into the exit.

Puzzle 5:
1. Walk to the edge to the right of you and jump across.
2. Walk to the edge of the next platform, face left, and backflip up.
3. Walk to the edge of the mine pit and jump across.
4. Walk right and backflip onto the next platform as in 2.
5. From the spot you land on, jump to the left to get onto the next platform.
6. Walk to the left edge and jump across.  Get the item.
7. The crucial step.  First select the parachute from your items menu.  From
  the very left edge of the platform you're on, face RIGHT, BACKFLIP, and at
  the peak of your jump, press A to use the parachute.  Hold left to get
  across.
8. Walk left into the exit.
*ALTERNATE, FASTER METHOD* (Thanks Blubum!)
Instead of jumping across the mine pit in step 3, you can backflip up to the
penultimate platform.  Then get the parachute and skip to step 7.

Puzzle 6:
1. Jump left from where you're standing.
2. Go to the MIDDLE (or even slightly right of the middle) of this platform and
  jump left again.
3. Repeat step 2 and get the item.
4. Teleport onto the health crate at the top left.
5. Repeat steps 1-3 with your newfound health (going right instead of left)
  to get the last health crate.

Puzzle 7:
1. Face RIGHT and use a mine.
2. Face LEFT and use a mine.  Done, and done.

Puzzle 8:
1: Teleport to the platform just above the magnet.
2. Stand a bit to the left of the magnet and drop a mine.  Adjust your position
  and repeat if necessary to kill the worm.
3. Repeat step 2, this time to the right of the magnet.

Puzzle 9:
1. Walk right up to the wall.
2. While still facing the wall, do a backflip and release the sheep at the peak
  of your jump.
3. Press A when the sheep reaches the worm, or don't.  That worm is as good as
  dead whatever you do.  If for any reason this fails, you have infinite
  sheep, so keep trying.

Puzzle 10:
1. Fire straight across from your starting point at full power.

Puzzle 11:
1. Skip the first worm's turn or jump right to kill him.  You could use him to
  drop a mine, but he's not really necessary.
2. Drop (don't jump!) down with the second worm.  You'll take damage, but who
  cares?
3. If the first worm is alive, skip his turn again.  Then head left with the
  stronger worm to the oil drums and mine.  Step near the mine to activate it,
  then move directly above the two oil drums (in the middle of them, or you
  will die!).
4. Skip a turn again if necessary, then firepunch the enemy.  Whether to knock
  him into the water or not is up to you - he'll die either way.

Puzzle 12:
This one's slightly hard to explain exactly, but you should be able to figure
it out.
1. Get the crate with the first worm and move him far away from the enemy.
2. Still controlling the first worm, select the girder.  Press X once for the
  correct angle.  Then place it so the bottom is the same height as (or a
  little higher than) the top of the enemy worm's head.  The top should be
  just left of the enemy worm's entire body.
3. Backflip onto the girder with the 1 HP worm.  Then walk to the top, face
  left, and backflip off of the girder and (if you did it right) onto the
  enemy worm.

Puzzle 13:
1. Backflip onto the oil drum.  Stand on the right side (but not ALL the way to
  the right), face left, aim your shotgun down at the drum, and fire.  If you
  did it right, you should have made it over the oil drum on the next
  platform.
2. Repeat step 1 two more times.
3. Select your parachute.
4. Walk off the right edge, then the instant you fall off, press A to activate
  the parachute and hold left, or you won't make it.
5. Proceed to the exit.

Puzzle 14:
This one is pretty hard.  Good luck.
1. Backflip onto the tiny ledge above you and to your right.
2. Throw a boomerang left and slightly up (with some power).
3. Jump onto the boomerang, then backflip up to the platform.  You might need
  another boomerang to make this jump, depending on your exact angle.
4. Grab the item to your left.
5. Now it gets a bit tricky.  I think the easiest way to do it is as follows:
  walk to the left edge of the platform you're on.  Then face right and fire a
  boomerang down and EVER SO SLIGHTLY to the right.  If you did it right, you
  should be able to get on the boomerang.  Keep repeating this from on top of
  successive boomerangs, and you should find that you're building a platform
  that goes gradually left.
6. When your platform makes it just below the item crate, fire a boomerang
  directly up at it at full power (ignore the wind).  That should do it.  If
  it doesn't, you might want to build your platform upwards slightly using the
  same principles you've used so far (which might involve a tricky backflip, so
  be careful.
7. Go over to the right side and repeat steps 5 and 6, with directions
  reversed.  The right side was much easier for me.

Puzzle 15:
1. Place a girder below you and to the left.  I prefer to have the girder
  horizontal, but do whatever you think will get you the item.
2. Go down there and get the item.
3. Go right as far as you can, aim the blowtorch down and right, and proceed to
  the item.
4. Use the lightning strike on the worm that died at the beginning of the
  round.  To aim it, ignore the yellow arrow and place the crosshairs on the
  dead worm's gravestone.
5. Backflip the revived worm up and proceed to the exit.

Puzzle 16:
1. Make a path to the bottom left of the first platform using horizontal
  girders.  Place the girders as close as you possibly can to each other, as
  buffalos will fall through a rather surprisingly small space.  I recommend
  you start from the platform and work left.  Don't worry if there's a little
  space on the left side, as the buffalo moves forward when you drop him.
2. For the last girder, press X once from the horizontal position so it's
  angled slightly to the right.  Then place the girder as close to the top
  right of the platform you were building to in step 1 as you can WITHOUT
  GOING OVER.  Worry more about the left side of the girder than the right
  side.  If you did it right, the right side of the girder will be a little
  high, and the buffalo should just barely clear the gap.
3. Release a buffalo to the right.  If your girders are correctly placed, it
  SHOULD make it through the wall and get both items.

Puzzle 17:
*HARDER METHOD*
1. Walk to the edge of the pit.  Use a jetpack to get down to where the enemy
  worm is.  Stay away from the mines at first!
2. Press A to cancel your jetpack, then use another jetpack to go up, enter
  the top right crevice slightly to trigger a mine, then quickly get back up
  to the top where you started!
3. Use another jetpack to go back down there, then use a firepunch to finish
  off the enemy.
*EASY METHOD*
1. Use the jetpack to get up to the platform above.
2. Firepunch the magnet RIGHT (Yes, right, not left).  It will go down the
  hole and finish off the enemy in a blaze of awesomeness.

Puzzle 18:
This one's a wee bit hard to do correctly, but it's one of my favorites.
1. Put a girder on the left side like this: / (but at a 45 degree angle... 45
  degrees is important).  The right (top) side of the girder should cover the
  left side of the platform your worm is standing on just a LITTLE bit. The
  left (bottom) side of the girder should be at about the same height as the
  top of your worm's helmet (or maybe just a TINY bit above).
2. Get on the right side of the left magnet, face left, and firepunch the
  magnet.  If you did it right, the magnet will go into the hole, take the
  mine with it, and kill the left worm.
3. Repeat for the right side (with the directions reversed, of course).

Puzzle 19:
1. Place a vertical girder immediately after the first gap to prevent a sheep
  from jumping across.
2. Stack two horizontal girders in the gap below the girder you just placed
  for the same purpose.
3. At the bottom left of the maze, there's a pit.  Place a horizontal girder
  as close to the left wall as you can while still completely covering this
  pit.
4. Release a sheep to the left and press A when it gets close to the enemy
  worm.
Note that the girders are just precautions, since the movements of sheep are
highly random, and it's POSSIBLE for the sheep to make it to the enemy
without using any girders at all, so you could just fire off the ten sheep
you start with one by one and hope one will get close enough to do damage.

Puzzle 20:
This one is hard, and one of my least favorites. :(
1. Your worm is on a small platform.  Below that, there's a larger platform.
  And below that, there's a narrow pit.  Place your first girder at a 45
  degree angle with the top to the right and the bottom to the left, then
  place it below that pit in an attempt to make a grenade go left when it
  falls in.
2. Use another girder with the same angle to block off, as best you can, the
  break in the right wall of the maze a little below that pit in such a way as
  to also make sure the grenade can continue DOWN the maze.
3. Now change the direction of the girders so the top is to the left and the
  bottom is to the right, but still at a 45 degree angle.  You'll find two more
  breaks in the wall on the left side of the maze.  Block both of those off
  too.
4. Finally, put one final girder, still at the same angle as in step 3, below
  the last pit before the enemy worm to make sure the grenade travels to the
  worm.
5. Now lob holy handgrenades into the hole to the right of you as best you can.
  It will almost certainly take many tries, but you have infinite holy
  handgrenades, and the landscape is indestructible (as are the girders!), so
  eventually you should kill that worm.

Puzzle 21:
1. Get on the oil drum and, using the shotgun and the technique from Puzzle 13,
  blow yourself onto the platform to the left.
2. Select the sheep, and using the backflip technique from Puzzle 9, toss a
  sheep over the wall.  If you must, first put a vertical girder just after
  the end of the path (before the magnet) in such a way as to make the sheep
  go left and down right away instead of hitting the wall with the magnet
  first.
3. Press A when the sheep makes it to the enemy.
*ALTERNATE METHOD (Probably the intended method)*
Place a vertical girder to the left of the enemy to create a magnet trap. Then
follow the steps above, but when the sheep gets just past the magnet (right at
the wall), press A to blow it up and hopefully send the magnet flying at the
enemy worm, which will blow up the mine below him.

Puzzle 22:
1. There's a passage below the platform your worms are on.  First, move your
  first worm (250 HP) on top and on the right side of the right oil drum, then
  use him to place a girder in line with the floor of the aforementioned
  passage as if to extend that floor out.
2. Move the second worm (also 250 HP) on top and on the left side of the left
  oil drum and skip his turn.
3. Bring the third worm (1 HP) down to that girder and inside the passage, toss
  a sheep inside, and blow it up when it's right below the drums.  If you did
  it right, both worms are now on the crate platforms.
4. Get the crate with the first worm, skip his turn, then get the next crate.

Puzzle 23:
1. Place a vertical girder to the immediate right of the enemy worm.  It's
  very important that this girder completely blocks off the floor before the
  magnet, so really take your time placing it. You should notice a little
  notch in the bottom right corner of the wall above the enemy.  If you can
  move the girder so it fills that notch, you should be right on.
2. Backflip up the steps.
3. Select firepunch, if it's not already selected.  Walk to the right edge of
  the platform, backflip, and at the peak of your backflip, firepunch. That
  should knock the mine across the gap, and it should go down and kill the
  enemy worm.

Puzzle 24:
1. Place an angled girder in such a way as to help you get onto the upper path
  to the right,
2. Select your blowtorch and get onto that path.
3. Now you have a choice.  You may either burrow under the first mine with your
  blowtorch and place a girder to get you over the second mine platform OR
  place the girder before the first and burrow over the second mine.  When
  burrowing, change directions as soon as you get past the mine (so if you're
  going under a mine, press up a couple times when you pass the mine).
4. Knock the first enemy over the edge with the blowtorch and quickly turn it
  off before you follow.  Then jump down to the next enemy worm and repeat the
  same method of execution. :)
*ALTERNATE METHOD*
1. Place an angled girder in such a way as to help you get onto the upper path
  to the right.
2. Select your blowtorch and get onto that path.
3. Burrow under the first mine and over the second.
4. Aim a girder toward the worm on the floating platform at a 30-ish degree
  angle.  45 degrees can also work, but not quite as well.  Place it so the
  left side is right under the first enemy worm you run into, so it looks like
  you can dig into it a fair distance.
5. Stand immediately left of the first enemy worm, aim your blowtorch downward,
  and push him as far as you can.  Then retreat when your blowtorch runs out
  of steam!

Puzzle 25:
1. Go left and backflip the first worm up to where the second worm is.
2. Select dragonball, then dragonball the second worm left.
3. Get the item, then go over, trigger the mine, and die. :)
4. From about the center of the platform, aim your blowtorch down and torch
  left.  Just be sure you don't go into the area that's already tunneled out.
5. Now, from the VERY edge, you can jump across.
6. Walk off the right edge and into the exit.
*ALTERNATE, EASIER METHOD*
Just walk left or backflip IMMEDIATELY after triggering the mine to keep that
worm alive. :)

Unlockable Puzzle 1:
1. Blackflip onto the ledge to your left, then from there backflip again onto
  the floating platform to your right and get the item.
2. Use the jetpack to QUICKLY go up to the next platform and get that item.
3. Move a bit left and place the girder so you can get the crate on the next
  platform.
4. Go up, get the crate, then proceed left to the wall.  At the wall drop a
  mine, then run away!
5. When your new turn begins, trigger the mine and run away again!
6. Select the parachute.  Jump off, trigger the parachute in mid-air, and hold
  left.  Then get the item.
7. Go as far as you can to the left edge and select the drill.
8. Jump, then IMMEDIATELY press A to start the drill and save your skin.  Press
  A again to stop the drill the instant you get inside.
9. Get on the left side of the enemy and dragonball him across into the little
  pit.
*ALTERNATE, EASIER METHOD* (Thanks BlueM!)
1. Blackflip onto the ledge to your left, then from there backflip again onto
  the floating platform to your right and get the item.
2. Ignore the two items above you.  Instead, go back down to the platform you
  were on before, then walk to the far LEFT.
3. Use the jetpack to QUICKLY go up and to the LEFT and get that item.
4. Select the parachute, then jump across to the platform above the enemy worm.
5. Drill in to where the enemy worm is.  Stop the drill the instant you get
  inside.
6. Get on the left side of the enemy and dragonball him across into the little
  pit.

Unlockable Puzzle 2:
My other favorite one (along with #18)
1. Use the first worm to completely cover the medium-sized pit with a
  horizontally-placed girder.
2. Skip a turn with the second worm.
3. Use the first worm to firepunch the sentry gun over the girder and into the
  largest pit.
4. Use the second worm to prod the enemy worm into the sentry gun.

Unlockable Puzzle 3:
1. Backflip onto the upper path to the right and go to the FAR right edge.
  Skip your turn from here.
2. Move this worm on top of the first worm's head and again skip your turn.
3. Move this worm onto everybody else's head. Use a firepunch to get them both
  over to the next platform at the same time.
4. Move the first of the worms you just punched over to the right edge of this
  new platform and skip another go.
5. Move the next worm onto his head and firepunch him across.  Hopefully he
  made it. :)
6. Skip your turn with the next worm, then proceed to the exit with the first
  worm.
*ALTERNATE METHOD* (Thanks steve_juneau!)
1. Backflip onto the upper path to the right and go to the FAR right edge.
  Skip your turn from here.
2. Move the second worm over to the right edge of the platform he's already
  standing on, directly below the worm you just moved, then skip again.
3. Move the third worm onto the head of the second worm.  From there, you can
  firepunch both worms.
4. From here, things are basically the same as steps 4-6 above. :)

Unlockable Puzzle 4:
1. Go right and ignore the enemy for now.  Instead, go as far of the way to the
  right edge of this platform as you can without falling off, then jump right.
  DO NOT use your rope yet.
2. Get the crate.
3. Walk left down the hill until the sentry gun starts to turn, then quickly
  retreat before it can shoot you.
4. Now use your rope on the tiny floating piece of ice and swing back over to
  the enemy worm.
5. Prod him right.

Unlockable Puzzle 5:
1. First walk up next to the left wall and tunnel through horizontally with the
  blowtorch.  Turn it off as soon as you get through to the other side to
  avoid killing the worm there.
2. With the other worm (1 HP) select the drill, walk back a tiny bit, then turn
  around, jump right, and IMMEDIATELY start the drill.  Stop it when you get
  to the bottom.
3. Fall off the same edge with the other worm.  He has the HP to handle it.
4. Move the 1 HP worm right near wall the exit is mounted on (but not touching
  it), turn around to face left, and skip your go.
5. Backflip off the 1 HP worm's head into the exit.  If you can't make it, move
  back, skip your go, reposition the 1 HP worm, skip again, then try once
  more.
*ALTERNATE, BETTER METHOD* (Thanks Wormetti!)
1. Walk a bit right and drill down with the first worm.  Make sure he goes past
  the sentry gun on his way down and makes it turn around.  Leave the drill
  running until he hits the ground safely, then immediately turn it off.  Stay
  put (don't walk toward the exit just yet).
2. Select the parachute with the second worm, then walk left and drop off the
  ledge.  Let the parachute deploy automatically (don't press A, or the gun
  may have enough time to turn around and kill you!).
3. Still using the same worm as in 2, blowtorch through the wall the exit is
  mounted on, then position your worm slightly to the right of that wall.
4. Same as step 5 above.  You should be able to beat this without losing ANY
  health!
