3. Introduction ''PLEASE READ!! VERY IMPORTANT!!''

Hi everyone, this is my fifth FAQ and it's a Spoiler Free FAQ for the new US
release Nintendo DS game 'Touch Detective'. Before I start going any further,
I need to clear something up. Although I call this Spoiler Free FAQ, it isn't
going to be 100% spoiler free.

This FAQ will be written in a 'Step by Step' format instead of traditional
style. Which means that it will be in something like a bullet-point sentences.
The reason I do it this way its because I want to keep it as less spoiler as
possible so you can get through the game with the help of this FAQ without
too much spoiling of storyline etc.

Basically I will list out all the actions that you need to do to get through
all 4 episodes. So I won't write any conversation scripts between characters
and what will happen next once you do this etc. Also I won't list things like
controls and what this does when you touch it etc, as this is a FAQ purely
for aiding you to finish the game, which I assumed you all know the basics
anyway. I hope this FAQ can help all you guys out there who are currently
stuck on this game. I wished somebody wrote a FAQ when I were stuck in
certain part of the game. Enough talking, lets go.

4. Story
--------

Just a quick introduction to the main characters you will come across in this
FAQ.

Detective Mackenzie - The girl who you are controlling inside this game. The
main character of this game.

Penelope - Your good friend, who also is the other main character of this game.

Chloe - One of the girl who reckons herself is a naturally born detective who
has no patient and always appear in a sudden.

Cromwell - He is the maid who works inside the house. Also a great inventor.

Funghi - As the name says, it is a small brown mushroom who act as an
assistant for Mackenzie to solve cases. It can help.


Episode 1 - Robbery. The reality of a fanciful dream
-----------------------------------------------------

First Part

1. After the cutscene and long conversation, you get the choice to question
Penelope, choose all three questions one after another. When done with all
three questions, choose the bottom selection 'Nothing'.

2. When free to move, go to Cromwell's room and talk. Get all three
ingredients he want. The flower is inside the book on the table inside your
room.

3. Go to Park. Get the broken butterfly net outside hotdog shop. Than you
suppose to mend it. But how? This part did tricked a lot of people so if you
feel you want to challenge and mend the net yourself, do so AND JUST SKIP TO
BULLET-POINT 4 INSTEAD OF READING ON TO AVOID SPOILER. If you are stuck at
this part and want to get on with the game than the solution to mend the net
is click and highlight the net once, than click the spider-web on the corner
of the hotdog shop, the web is just above the ketchup and mustard sauce.
There you go, that's how it's done.
4. Once you mended the net, catch the butterfly next to the pond. After that,
go to the Condominium first.
5. Once there, knock on every single doors you come across and have
conversation with them. The second ingredient shock absorber is inside
Penelope's room (room 102), which is the orange pillow on her bed. Once you
have finished all the conversations, go to Shopping Plaza.

6. The third ingredient Sweet Dream Cake is from the Pastry Shop in Shopping
Plaza, so go in and talk to the waitress and buy a piece from her. Take the
free sample cookies on the table as well. Than just have a chat with the
yellow
shark.

7. Exit the pastry and go to the clothing boutique. Chat with Daisy and than
leave. Go back to your Office and give all three ingredients to Cormwell.
After the room stops flashing, go in and get the orange pillow on the
workbench.

8. Go back to room 102 and talk to Penelope. You notice the girl is back in
room 203, so go up and chat with her than come back down to Penelope's room.
Put the Sweet Dream Pillow on Penelope's bed.


Second Part

1. Mackenzie back home and talk to Cormwell about dreams. Now go to Shopping
District and go inside Fortune Teller Shop. Talk to Fortune Teller and learn
the skill.

2. Go to Pastry Shop and gather info from waitress. Than go to clothing
boutique. Buy the Teddy Bear, its on the shelf just below Daisy, the one with
silver sharp cone on its head.

3. Click on the paper bag that holds the bear and you will actually separate
the paper bag from the bear, which now count as two items. Continue chatting
with Daisy, when you have done enough, go to the Condominium's second floor,
put those cookies you got earlier inside the paper bag, than put the bag into
microwave. Next take it back to your room and use it.

4. After the cutscene and conversation with Cormwell, go to the Park and talk
to Chloe who try to pull her magic trick. Now you can do the same as well,
highlight the butterfly that you caught earlier and use the butterfly on
every single one in game, some will have effect but some won't so don't worry.

5. Once done that to everyone, go back to your room and use the mushroom
again. After the same cutscene happened, go to Shopping District and chat
with whoever you can chat to. Than go to Clothing Boutique.

6. Once you are awake, go to Penelope's room, than go up to room 203. After
that, go back to your room again and use the mushroom. Head back to
Condominium and up the second floor, than exit to roof-top.

7. Close the roof-top door and take the pump back to Cormwell and get it
fixed. Once it's done, go to the Condominium and speak to Beatrice the
landlord.

8. When she comes out, pump her up with your pump than use Funghi to nick the
key inside her room. Now break into room 203 with keys and investigate.

9. After the noise, go downstairs and close the front door (just walk up next
to it and touch it).

10. Than head up to roof-top and use the Teddy Bear to pop up Beatrice.

11. When you wake up, investigate the reason why this is happening and there
you have completed Episode 1.



Episode 2 - Disappearance. The truth hidden in the cosmos
---------------------------------------------------------

First Part

1. After the cutscenes and conversation, you get room 102 key from Beatrice,
and that's where you want to go now to do some investigation.

2. Once you're in Penelope's room, check everything you possible can. You can
pick up the photo album, the handkerchief and order slip. When you are done,
get Beatrice to come over to room 102 to have a look. After that, speak to
the girl in room 101.

3. Now go to Shopping District, than clothing boutique to chat with Daisy.
Than go to pastry shop and talk to waitress. Once that is finished, show the
photo album to yellow shark.

4. Now just walk outside to the front of water fountain, take the photo from
the wooden stand on the right, than fit it into the top left corner of the
photo album.

5. Next show the handkerchief to Chloe, than show her the photo album. When
she tries to hide whatever she got from the cardboard box, just go up to her
and nick the 'yellow thing'. Yes, Penelope's favourite food, banana. Now
examine the banana first, you will find a white label at the bottom of banana
(you can easily miss the label as lots of people does), examine that label.
After examination, show the banana to Chloe as well. And again, pick up the
banana skin and show it to her once again.

6. Now new place is available, the Planetarium. Get there and show the photo
album to the girl sitting on the bench. After conversation end, enter the
building.

7. When you get in, talk to the guy and get free pass. Talk to him again when
you get the free pass and than enter into the cinema.

8. Once inside the cinema, show the photo album to the guy who sat on the
left side that is still awake. After cutscene, you should find a name card on
the ground near the top right exit.

9. Now go to Shopping District, and show the 'bouncer' the name card you got
and they will let you into Fortune Teller Shop. Show the photo album to the
Fortune Teller. After the conversation, exit the shop and go home.


Second Part

1. Before you leave, take the Teddy Bear. Just as you about to leave,
Cromwell will stop you. After conversation, go to Cromwell's room.

2. Take the sandwich on the workbench and give it to Funghi. Now go to your
sitting room and get the red tea pot and give it to Cromwell, he will modify
the tea pot for you.
3. Go to clothing boutique in Shopping District. After all that, exit the
shop and you should see the vending machine on the furthest right side of the
screen. Carefully 'obtain' a coin from the machine (if you don't know how,
just think about which part of the vending machine that you usually can
'obtain' a coin from??). Once you got the coin, shine it up by using the
handkerchief.

4. Now go to Fortune Teller Shop and get the chart which is in the stand on
the right side of screen. Now click on the chart and it will turn into a
poster.

5. Next go to pastry shop and show the order slip to the waitress and you'll
get special cake. Now go to Planetarium.

6. When you arrive, open the special cake's box, you'll get cookies and green
ribbon. Give the cookie to little girl to get information. Now go indoor and
show that guy the poster you got from Fortune Teller Shop. He will look away
from you.

7. Go back outside and put the green ribbon onto the Teddy Bear and give the
bear to the girl. And look what happens next.

8. After cutscene, give coin to Chloe. After that, go inside the building and
give your tea pot to the weirdo to fix his music instrument. Pick up the
tweezers from the bench. Now the next part, don't try this at home because
the chances are, you probably get the same effect.

9. Stick the tweezers into the sparkling mains socket next to the right exit
door. Follow that guy into the generator room and hide inside this box near
the bottom right side of your bottom screen.

10. When he leaves, get out and check the wall on the right. After all
conversations, check the generator, and use Funghi on it.
11. Go back to the cinema room and after the scene, run back into that room
to save Penelope. Give the Teddy to the girl again and choose to play as SEEK.
When the girl has gone, unplug the socket from wall and save Penelope.

12. After you think you are trapped, use the banana skin on the baddie and
there you have completed Episode 2.


Episode 3 - Stranded. The miracle of an innocent heart
------------------------------------------------------

First Part

1. After the cutscene and conversation, go to Cromwell's room and speak to
him. After that, go to the Park and into the Skating Rink.
2. After Penelope asks you to focus, click on the area just besides Penelope,
than you should be able to carry on. Next speak to Penelope and ask her all 3
questions. When that's done, go to the left and knock on the door.

3. Ask Barnaby all questions that you possible can, than show him the fairy.
Go outside to hotdog shop and get Penelope to help. Pick up the Hand Warmer,
than warm it up by clicking on it a few times and give it to Penelope.

4. Go and get Barnaby out than speak to Penelope again. After the short
conversation, go back to Office and speak to Cromwell. When that finished, go
back to Skating Rink and speak to Penelope.

5. After the conversation, get Barnaby to come out again and ask him about
Diet. After that, speak to Barnaby once more that speak to Penelope. After
the meeting between you three, choose one of the solution, but it doesn't
matter which one to choose because the result will be the same.

6. Follow Chloe and talk to her, then click on Funghi. Next pick up the
Frozen Food and talk to Chloe, then click on Funghi again. After the second
search from underwater, get Barnaby to come out and give him the frozen food
pack you took earlier. When he finished with it, take another food pack from
the 'food mountain' and talk to Chloe. Next go to the Condominium.

7. Get the food microwaved and go back to Skating Rink. Give it to Barnaby.
Next pick up the food pack wrapping underneath the air-conditioner and
examine it. Show it to Chloe. Now talk to Penelope and than Chloe after for
Plan 2.
8. Go to Pastry Shop and talk to waitress, choose the first option. Than
choose the first option again. Now talk to everyone in town. Once that's done,
go back to Pastry Shop and speak to waitress, also take the red Hot Sauce on
the shelf.

9. Go back to Skating Rink and speak to Chloe.


Second Part

1. After the conversation, talk to Penelope and choose first option. Get
Barnaby to come out and ask him all the options. Next go to hotdog shop and
buy a hotdog.

2. Swap the Hot Sauce for the Ketchup and cover the hotdog with the Ketchup.
Now show the hotdog to Barnaby and follow him out, then speak to him.

3. Go back to Skating Rink and speak to Penelope. When that's done, go back
to Office and speak to Cromwell, then get the latest invention on the
workbench. Now go to Shopping District and talk to Chloe. Now go and check
out the Condominium, the Planetarium and shops from Shopping District for
Chloe. Once that's done, go to the Park and talk to Chloe outside hotdog shop.

4. When the conversation finish, use the machine on the fairy, than use it on
Chloe, than talk to Penelope. Now go to Fortune Teller Shop and talk. Next go
to the Condominium and choose bottom option. Next get Beatrice to come out
again. Than after that, give the hotdog to Beatrice than talk to her.

5. Go to the Park and talk to Chloe. Now back to Condominium and up the
rooftop. Talk to Beatrice and check the apron on the railing. Then go back to
Park and talk to Chloe. Now talk to Penelope inside Skating Rink. Then go up
to rooftop in Condominium and talk to Chloe.

6. Now go to Fortune Teller Shop and talk. Next talk to the little girl in
Planetarium. Now go back to Chloe and talk. Then go back to your Office and
talk to Cromwell. Now go to Fortune Teller Shop and talk. Next talk to Chloe
again.

7. Choose the first option, than the second option. There you have completed
Episode 3.


Episode 4 Assault. The tragedy of a past grudge
-----------------------------------------------

First Part

1. After all the cutscene and conversation, speak to Cromwell in his room.
Then go to room 102 in Condominium and speak to Penelope, then collect the
Stamp Card on the table. Now go to the new area, the Circus.

2. Open the red letter box at main entrance then collect the brown Envelope.
Check the envelope to get letter. Now don't forget to close the letter box.
Next go into the circus tent.

3. As you get in, go up to take the Gramophone Horn then speak to Chloe. Now
go to the Behind Tent and show the letter to the circus master, then chat
with him. Next go to the Pastry Shop and talk to the waitress.

4. Go to Fortune Teller Shop and talk. Now talk to the door guards outside
Fortune Teller Shop, the guy 'Shorty' who sells hotdog and Beatrice. You can
also show the envelope to Beatrice. When that's done, go talk to circus
master again.

5. Next follow Chloe into the Inside Tent and check the scene, then talk to
master. Next talk to Chloe and you'll get the Crime-Scene Tape. Now talk to
circus master and do what he tells you to. Next click on the human-shape tape
on the ground, then talk to the circus master again.

6. Check out the house of Cirque de Fleas. Now use the Gramophone Horn on
each flea. Exit and talk to circus master again. When that's done, go to
Pastry Shop and show the envelope to yellow shark.

7. Now take the stamp off the envelope and stick it onto the Stamp Card and
give the card to the waitress. Next show the Laughing Bag to the shark, then
go back to your Office and show the Laughing Bag to Cromwell.

8. Go to the Circus' Inside Tent, click on the Fleas' house, then click on
the bottom left corner, fit the battery into the slot and click the long
switch. Now go to Penelope's room and talk to her. Then again, go back to the
Circus' Inside Tent and talk to the master.

9. When he finished talking, check the Fleas' house for their conversation.
Now talk to the master again. After the conversation from Fleas, talk to the
master again.

10. Go talk to Penelope in her room then go back to your Office.


Second Part

1. Go to the Circus' Inside Tent and talk to the master. Now click on the
little window on the box where 'Punk' got locked up (The window is on the
furthest right side of the screen), then talk to the master again. After that,
click on Punk then the master.

2. Click on the house on the left for them to move in, then check the pad-
lock on the box. Now go to Shopping Plaza and talk to Chloe. Next go back to
the Circus and talk to the master, then move into the Inside Tent.

3. Talk to both Penelope and Chloe, then click on Punk and see what he says.
Now talk to Chloe again then check the Fleas' house. Click on the blue-hat
flea then check out the safe house. Now talk to Chloe and choose first option.
After that, click on the fleas' house again.

4. Equip the yellow tape and use it on fleas' house then exit the tent. Next
check out the fleas' house, then talk to Penelope and Chloe, exit the tent.
Now pick up the wood Stake on the ground next to the exit. Go back inside the
tent and use the stake on the Fleas' house.

5. Click on Punk the flea then talk to Chloe. Now check out all the fleas
including the locked up box. Next talk to the circus master. When that's done,
go to the Park and talk to Chloe. After that, go to the Pastry Shop and talk
to the waitress. Now go back to Circus' Inside tent and talk to the master.

6. First choose 'No' then choose the fourth option. Now wake the master up
then talk to the shark again. Next try to wake the master up.

7. After the scene, pick up the master's hat and give it to the shark. Now
check out the thing on master's head. There you have completed Episode 4.

5. Others
---------

OK, so that's how the game ends. Well, not really because there are still a
lot of bonus mission and others that you can do. You don't get any reward for
doing them apart from that the info will be added to the Investigation Report,
but I'm sure many of you who wants to complete the game at 100% will want to
solve these mission as well. Bare in mind that I did some of these in between
my main story and apparently you need to fulfill some conditions before some
bonus mission is available, and I don't know the conditions. But not to worry
though, I will just list out every bonus thing I've done in order, and pretty
much most of them were done after I've completed the game. If I miss any or
there is something wrong, please correct me ok?


--Find the missing jewelry--
1. Go to Shopping Plaza, you will find a woman stood in front of water
fountain. Speak to her to start the bonus mission and find the missing
jewelry.
2. If you want to solve this problem yourself, than just skip this paragraph.
If you are stuck, than the solution for this task is, the jewelry is on the
ground right under where the woman was first originally stood. If you notice
carefully you should see gold sparkling at that place. You just need to click
around with your stylus to get the right place.


--Hide & Seek--
Go into Pastry Shop then come back out and you'll find Cromwell stood in
front of the water fountain. Talk to him to start the Hide & Seek mission.
Basically you need to find 5 people who are hiding in different places. If
you want to solve this yourself, just skip this. If you can't find them all,
than read on. There are 5 to find in total.
- In the fitting room in Clothing Boutique
- Behind the curtain in Fortune Teller Shop
- Underneath the left table in the Pastry Shop
- Inside the wooden basket right next to the vending machine
- At the bushes behind the fountain. It's the darker bushes at top right of
the fountain. Just click around and you'll eventually find it


--IQ Quiz from astronomy guy-
Go to Planetarium and speak to the astronomy guy. Choose the second answer.


--Disposed of the secret documents--
Go to the Planetarium, head into the cinema and speak to the guy. He'll ask
you to dispose his secret document. If you want to solve this yourself, just
skip this. If you don't know what to do, than read on. To destroy the
document, just highlight the document and give it to Funghi. Simple hah?

--Find the 3 different ingredients-
Go and talk to the waitress and she'll ask you to find 3 ingredients for her.
Skip this if you want to solve it yourself, read on if you can't find them.
First get a hotdog from the Park, then get Funghi to get food from Skating
Rink and lastly, go to Penelope's room (room 102) to pick up the banana from
the table. Go back and hand them to the waitress.


--IQ Quiz from Chloe--
Go to Condominium and speak to Chloe on the rooftop. Choose the second answer.


--Witnessed the demise of the circus-
Go to the Circus, and into the Inside Tent. Now speak to Dover (yellow shark)
a few times and you will watch what happen next.


--Buying drink-
Go to the Park and speak to the guy who always on about being healthy. He
will ask you to buy a drink with your money as well. Stop reading here if you
want to solve it yourself otherwise just read on. Now check the caterpillar
thing besides his feet to get the coin, use the coin to buy a drink from the
vending machine in Shopping Plaza and give it to him. Next get the ketchup
from hotdog shop, go back to Shopping Plaza and mix the ketchup with fountain
water and give it to him.


--IQ Quiz from Myron and Myrtle-
Go to Shopping Plaza and talk to Myron & Myrtle outside Fortune Teller Shop.
First talk to the one on the left, then choose second answer. When that's
done, talk to the one on the right and choose third answer.


--Retrieve the paper bag-
Go to Shopping Plaza and speak to the guy who stood in front of the vending
machine. He'll ask you to find the paper bag for him. Stop reading here if
you want to solve it yourself otherwise just read on. The paper bag is on the
counter shelf inside Clothing Boutique. Take it and return to the man.


--Quiz from Fortune Teller-
Go to Fortune Teller Shop and talk. Choose the third answer. When the
conversation finished, talk again and you'll get the second report.


--Hide & Seek second time--
Go into Pastry Shop then come back out and you'll find Cromwell stood in
front of the water fountain. Talk to him to start the second Hide & Seek game.
Stop reading here if you want to solve it yourself otherwise just read on.
- Inside the wooden basket right next to the vending machine
- At the bushes behind the fountain. It's the darker bushes at top right of
the fountain. Just click around and you'll eventually find it
- Behind the curtain in Fortune Teller Shop
- Touch the Crystal Ball inside Fortune Teller Shop
- In the fitting room in Clothing Boutique
- Daisy is hidden on the furthest right part of the screen inside Clothing
Boutique (just click around and you'll find her)
- Underneath the left table in the Pastry Shop
- The waitress is hiding on the furthest left part of the screen inside
Pastry Shop (left of the oval mirror hanging on the wall)
- Beatrice is..well, not hiding. She is in Condominium, can't miss her
- Penelope is hiding behind the curtain in her room
- Chloe is hiding before the door on rooftop in Condominium
- The purple music weirdo is hiding behind the bush just outside the
Planetarium's entrance (The bush is on the bottom left corner of your screen)
- The girl is hiding behind the sign next to the Planetarium's entrance
- The astronomy guy is hiding behind the counter inside Planetarium
- Dover is hiding behind the left white curtain in Inside Tent at the Circus
Once you got everyone, talk to Cromwell.


--Find the Circus Master--
Talk to Dover inside Pastry Shop and he'll ask you to find the Circus Master
for him. Stop reading here if you want to solve it yourself otherwise just
read on. Now go to Skating Rink and speak to Barnaby then look through the
hole. You found the Circus Master. Get back to Dover in Pastry Shop and ...
they finally met. Exit the Skating Rink to get the info added to your Report


--Photographer-
Talk to Beatrice in the Condominium and she'll ask you to take photographs
for her. Stop reading here if you want to solve it yourself otherwise just
read on. First get upstairs then come back downstairs and Funghi will scream
for something. That means there is a picture you can take within this area.
-Now equip your camera and take a picture of Beatrice's room window
-Go upstairs and out to the rooftop. Take a picture of the sky
-Go to Shopping Plaza and take a picture of the water fountain
-Go to Fortune Teller Shop and take a picture of purple smoke
-Go to Planetarium and take a picture of the globe at the main entrance
-Go inside the building at Planetarium and take a picture of the plant. Its
next to the astronomy guy.
-Go to the Park and take a picture of Shorty at hotdog shop. You need to
click near the bottom right corner of the counter, which is just next to the
mustard sauce.
-Go to the Skating Rink and take a picture of the hole
-Go to the Circus and take a picture of the golden colour Circus sign
-Go to the Circus' Inside Tent and take a picture of fleas' house
When you're done, go back to Condominium and talk to Beatrice


--Fortune Telling Training-
Speak to the woman stood outside Clothing Boutique and choose the bottom
option. Stop reading here if you want to solve it yourself otherwise just
read on. She tells you that someone who slips on a banana skin will thank you
for helping her. First find a banana in Penelope's room, than give it to
Funghi to do the modification. Now go back to the Shopping Plaza, equip the
banana then click on Chloe. She will slip on the banana skin. Now talk to her
again and she'll thank you for it. Go back and speak to the woman outside
Clothing Boutique and you're done.

6. Touch List
-------------

There are 50 items to 'touch' in total for the Touch List. When you have
collected all 50 items, you'll get a bonus picture which is available to view
at any time. Simply go into the Touch List screen, click on the 'Bonus' icon
on the bottom left corner of the screen and you can view the picture.

I will also list the location of each item but because I can't remember some
of them so I will just list the episode that they first appear. If the items'
name doesn't describe itself clearly of what it is, than I will describe
where the item is. Also for some item, you will get them as you are running
through the game so I will just describe when those items are available. If
you've been reading my FAQ, you should see that I wrote what items you get
throughout each episode. For example, if you look below, No.15 Tweezers,
available in Episode 2 from the music weirdo in Planetarium. If you've been
checking out my FAQ than you will know exactly where it is, so refer to my
FAQ as well.

02 - Dover's Skin, available in Episode 1 inside Pastry Shop

04 - Trench Coat, the coat that the astronomy guy is wearing

well as other bonus missions, which I wrote in the 'Other' section above. Also
when you complete the whole Investigate Report, you'll get a bonus picture
which you can view at any time. I'll list them out in order as they appear in
your game.

Well, here is what you suppose to do to complete the game. I am sure some of
you would have come across a point that you want to make your NDS/Lite into
two pieces. But once you found out a clue after clue after clue when you are
playing, you will just want to go deeper and deeper into the case, and all of
a sudden the irritation is gone to the back of your head. Whatever you do
just don't give up when you play these type of game.
