Hello~ I'm just a simple gamer who actually knows about 0.5% of Japanese. I
can pick up a few phrases here and there, but not enough to make a translation
or anything. I've played a good portion of the "Tales of" games, so I have a
good understanding of the basic plot workings of this game. For plot-purposes,
I will be utilizing other sources on the internet that will be credited to
below.

This guide is being made for: TALES OF HEARTS- anime port, in JAPANESE for
Nintendo DS. The game was also released on PSVITA.
               It was released December 18th, 2008 in Japan for the DS.
It's rated for persons age 12 and older.
The game's opening theme song is "Eien no Ashita", by DEEN.

Please do not redistribute this guide, claim it is your own. It is made for
personal use only.

For ease of use, this guide is made with quick finders. They are listed in
the Table of Contents and can be used through CTRL+F.

This guide is only available on gamefaqs.com
You can email me at gotenks726 [at] hotmail [dot] com.

A lot of my directions include: NORTH EAST SOUTH WEST, LEFT RIGHT, UP DOWN,
and N E S W, NE, NW, SE, SW.

I will be including an 'End Check' for what levels my characters are when I
finish an area, or are about to go into a boss fight. I shall strive to offer
information on bosses/monsters such as their HP/LV and weakness, if applicable
to the boss. These are not the 'best' or 'challenge' levels, just a record of
what I was at when I fought that boss while writing this guide.
  Keep in mind that unless the story forces me to otherwise, I mostly always
will play with Shing as my main battle character.

....A huge thank you is sent out to NAMCO for even creating this lovely game!
I can't explain how much I love this game, and am amazed by it's stunning
beauty and voice system on the DS.

Some basic information is from the wikia:
       http://aselia.wikia.com/
   I also referred to this for some of the skill names for Shing and
   Hisui, but not all. Many of Shing's were hard cause they're almost all
   kanji, which is nearly impossible for me to translate.

Some basic understanding, mostly for the menu familiarity, I made use of a
translated patch just for ease of access. It was exceedingly helpful.

Look at this guide for extended info on Soma builds, by
              RyuHiroshi @ game.faqs
       http://www.gamefaqs.com/ds/950188-tales-of-hearts/faqs/55677
He also includes the in-game symbols and translation names, as well as a
material list for what is required. Please, make good use of it! :D
   *He also explains the Soma Link. I've explained it in B2SL.

Another great guide I've used, and probably so have a lot of ToH players, is
by Kouli.

It's kind of bare-minimum, but it does show objectives and stuff.

SOMA is ranked from 1-10. Here I will list their names only, so you can get a
brief glimpse of where your character is on the chart. There is also a EX rank

   || 00B2. SCRIPT TRANSLATION           ||
   ----------------------------------------
There's also a great translation of the gamescript that I read through to
understand stuff :) by Jasmine B.
       http://vesperia.livejournal.com/340739.html
       While she did not translate little extras the game has to
offer, she did translate the entire main-plot's script, including some of the
on-screen's of when characters find items linked to the plot (such as when
Hisui finds Shing's soma when he's locked up by the church).

       ACCESSORIES Silver ring with gem
           Similar to "Tales of Destiny", your characters do not
                       change weapons, or equips. So you only have to worry
                       about the two acc. slots. Here you can equip
                       traditional and familiar equips from "Tales of", ie.
                       "Warrior Symbol", and "Aqua Cape".
           Most icons are the same as other games from this
                       series, or use can be implied.

   HEAL STONE  Blue crystal
       This is kind of weird to explain, it basically replaces the

   ...B2SL....     SOMA LINK
The skills you learn can only be learned through the somalink, so
it's important to have a high affection with everyone. Using people in your
main party, and having them on the shortcut menu will help. The options given
to you in skits will help with the affection and how characters relate to each
other. At this point, I've mostly just been given EG +1 abilities for the
characters to buy.
From RyuHiroshi's guide, he made note that the Soma Links are not just pure
affection, but are for the Skills- Combination Artes and Beryl's Crazy Comet
extension.
The affection values will increase as you play the game, and you can see them
on the Status menu of each character. The values read as:
  1000: Very small green line
  2000: Small green line
  3000: Medium green line
  4000: Broad green line
  5000: Very broad green line
  6000: Very small orange line
  7000: Small orange line
  8000: Medium orange line
  9000: Broad orange line
 10000: Very broad orange line
He did confirm that the somalink is the game's affection system, but unlike
Symphonia- where you can't see the values directly- you can in this game. But
if you've played Innocence, which showed the values exactly, then this is a
more vague rendition.

Among many normal things for a 'Tales of' game, you'll have access to cool
things on the START Menu. The View Dome (miyuuduamu) for example has a catalog
of many things that take place in the game.
While in this menu you can press Y to Fav something so you can come back to it
later, and access it in the FAV menu.
   BGM: Around 60 tracks of music is stored here, including a music-box
       version of the theme in the ~ED Ver.~
   VOICES: 29 pages of voices, including battle sounds, victory phrases,
       voiced artes usage- just about everything that happens in a
       battle. But wait, that's not all! Broken up into the story's
       arc chapters (1-24) are the voices of the voiced-scenes-
       including the prologue.
   MOVIE: The anime movie cut-in's are stored here.
   SKITS: Loved a skit but wanted to see what else the characters say
       when given those little options for dialog- you can do that
       here. Voiced and non-voiced skits are included, all 187.
   FAVE: The 'star' fave menu is where your favorites are saved. If you
       selected an item from the previous menus with Y, it's name
       will turn blue to let you know it's been favorited. Then, upon
       exiting the menu you can click to save your favorites so the
       next time you come to look, they'll all be there.

Similar to other 'Tales of' games, the 'Hard' difficulty is already unlocked
for you in the main Menu of the game- just change it in the Customize (your
options are Normal, Hard and Easy). Upon beating the game, you unlock 'Mania'
and 'Unknown' modes.

Before you start a New Game+, you can buy things from the traditional GRADE
shop. These include things like Play Time, Titles, and 2X EXP.

   They GRADE shop translation is listed below the walkthrough: 0C30.

||__________________________________________________________________________||

   = Minor notes =
So while looking through just to get the controls and menu understood, I
figured out that instead of MP or TP, the Artes use a new system to battle:
EG And CG.
   EG - Emotional Gauge
   CG - Combination Gauge
EG is apparently used whenever you do anything other than just running around.
While CG only regenerates when you attack or use a Skill.
   According to a summary, CG accumulates as a result of using EG. By
taking actions in battle, actions that require CG will become available. And
the growth of your CG and EG is synched.

       ------------------
   = LET'S BEGIN!!! =
       ------------------
Anyway, when you're ready, click to start NEW GAME. I went into the customize
menu and adjusted the text speed to 2, because I like it faster.
**The opening talk of gold text on black screen, the woman talks reaaaaally
slowly between the two lines. But she will speak both lines. The best I can
surmise without a translation is: a princess has been sleeping for a really
long time, and she should keep on dreaming (as the world ends).
After she's done talking, the traditional anime-opening starts up and we see
three characters. A woman chasing Kohak and her brother. Once cornered at a
cliff, he wants to fight, and Kohak shoves him off into the ocean to save
their lives. The scene ends with a crystal-looking moon, and a dark orb in
the sky.

   =| TOWN of SHIPUL, lots of Fish |=  [siburu]
   ----------------------------------
After a voice calls to you, to wake up basically. You're introduced to our
main character, Shing and his grandfather. Shing fell asleep during practice,
apparently, but it's okay cause they're both hungry it turns out.
   They're talking about how Shing wants to use Soma, but he thinks of
it as a weapon, so his grandfather is lecturing him on how it's the heart.
Kind of like courage, or spirit? They title is as "spiria". Either way,
something came up and G-Pa has to go out and tells Shing to wait. (G-Pa's
name is either Zeks or Zekksu).

After the scene is done and Shing is left behind, the only thing you can do
in the house is examine the beds to REST, or not.
Exit the house and explore around the town.
   South of your house is a giant blue fish, examine it for some octopus.
There's another fish around the right side of the pig pen, too. The store in
town sells Apple Gels and Life Bottles. The store clerk next to him sells
materials.
       APPLE GELS   =100
       LIFE BOTTLES =400
       Gald on hand: 300
If you check your current items, you have 3 Apple Gels (they will heal 30% of
your HP). You'll also have 3 valuable items, which look like they are the
three books for the Library menu: Monster, Synopsis and Battle Notes.
   If you're ever wondering what a monster is weak to, go into the Monster
book and pull up the monster's info page. Hit Y to see a list of stats, and
there'll be a Weakness listed at the bottom. Mostly every monster is weak to
either an element or a type of attack.
   Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, Thrust, Slash, Jump and Aerial
Blue sword- Slash. Red (pow) Hammer- Thrust. Wing- Jump. Dart/Arrow- Aerial.

Head to the shore up at the upper-right of town and you'll see Kohak and her
brother asleep; turns out his name is Hisui. Kohak tells Shing that they're
looking for his grandpa. Zeks isn't at home of course, but that doesn't stop
Shing from looking for his SOMA item: Asteria.

Head back outside. Right next to your house is a blue glyph-
a SAVEPOINT. The game lets you save up to three files.

A quick map overview: the red horizontal bars are "doors" that you can go in
and out of. The giant blue S is a SAVEPOINT. And the yellow arrow icon is you,
and the direction you're facing.
Head toward the exit: on the LEFT, the guy with the blue hair is right next to
it.

A battle tutorial will be the first thing to happen, but it's pretty
straightforward. The path is hard to get lost in when you have a map on the
bottom screen to guide you. The large arrow in the upper Left corner tells
you which direction is North.

   TUTORIAL FOR BATTLE
       A : ATTACK
           Directional buttons effect if you hit
           up, down, or left/right.
   Press X for Menu, go to the Purple Glyph, and press
   to change from AUTO control to SEMI.

The only monsters in this area are a wolf and a bee.
   The bee is weak to the arte you're about to learn, so
   be sure to combo that together to take advantage of the
   weakness.

After the battle, Hisui instructs you on SOMA builds.
   He wants you to learn your first made purple-glyph arte
   so go to page 3/3, and the text is Brown so you can
   click it. Confirm, and a window pops up showing a 1/1,
   and a confirm (YES over NO). Select YES, the top option.
   If you check in your Artes, the skill will be
   automatically equipped to all of your buttons.
           Hovering over an art reveals it's info:
           TITLE {Icon type: blue red wing element}
                Blue-Slash | Red-Thrust | Wing-Jump
           EG 18  CG 27  Power 440  Usage 765

           For who you control in battle:
           Top is control mode: AUTO SEMI MANUAL
           D-Pad usage, Up Left Down Right
   This skill is   EG 7   Power 170   Usage 0
           Jump, Slash, Thrust

Continuing onwards, the first chest has x3 Apple Gels. Examine the flowery
icon on the map to acquire some materials. The next chest by the left of the
bridge has x2 Life Bottles. Run to the bottom left of the map to examine the
next flower for some more materials. Cross the bridge for a chest of 350 Gald.
(The points for the materials change, but there should be two on your map.)
       GALD is your in-game money, to buy items for your journey. So
               it's always important to have.

   Normal battles can happen now. You can avoid monsters by running away
from them. If it's a normal attack, the screen will transition through WHITE.
If you are ambushed, it'll be RED, and you will be stunned.
   The next battle you enter, you'll be required to use the ARTE you just
       learned, so press B to use it.
           BATTLE CONTROLS
       X : Menu
       A : Attack
       Y : Guard
       B : Arte

           SOMA SKILLS
       As you gain more materials check your Soma menu to see if you
can get any more new skills, like HP or EG up.
   Jump to 00B1. for a link to another in-depth guide.
       The last tutorial will be about the Y button and how to guard.

Return to Shipul's item shop and talk to the woman to buy some materials.
The top four are elemental: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind.
The ones below those four are more common and can be found in your travels.
(Note that there's two "scroll" looking items, one is orange/yellow and the
other is blue, and more expensive.) (That octupus from earlier, I'm calling
a cuttlefish.)
   SHING SOMA
       The two green boots on 2/3 are Action Skills;
       you have to use GUARD to activate them.
       BACKSTEP is the first one.
       AIMING STEP is the second.

       The two on page 3/3 of his soma right now are:
       The blue are Support Skills.
       Randeinge   1 Wind, 2 Turtleshells, 2 ???a
       Gesidoziyobu    2 Wind, 3 ???b, 1 Cuttlefish
   ???a : I have no idea what this is at this point.
   ???b : This is the brown lump, brown rock, that's below
       Wind in the store for sale.
       The purple gylph (ARTE) is Kuuretsusen.
   I personally am going to get the Gesido skill (aka Item
   Pro). It reduces the movement delay after using an item.
       *You cannot get it now, or I can't...

IF YOU NEED TO REST RETURN HOME AND SLEEP IN THE BEDS.
   Go ahead and kill a few more things, if you want. When you're ready,
proceed north on the map to the Soma Shrine.

A scene will occur when you enter and you'll receive a Soma, Erurondo
(Elrond). [Names written in Kata have an english word, it's just written
phonetically.]
The group talks about soma and mothers.
The person who was chasing them from the opening is here. Shing stuns the
woman (Inkarozu=Incarose). Shing stuns Incarose with a red aura. Hisui urges
they escape, and Shing agrees.
Make your way back into town. Battle if you want, and pick up some more
materials.

Upon entering, Shing encounters a monster that's eating Kohak's spiria, a
Zerom.
   TIME LIMIT, or step counter. Killing monsters and the red chests will
restore it. If the counter runs out, it's GAMEOVER.
   Make your way to the glowing green point, and you'll enter the maze.
Your map is empty, so you have to fill it in with the goal in mind- ORANGE
POINT.
   If you see any green chests, that's generally materials.
   There are some NEW monsters here- the ground one is weak
   to the first arte you learned when you left the village.
At the bottom most level you'll see the flower form of spiria, spirune. It's
basically a core. The woman introduces herself as Richia. Basically, Richia
says run away from Incarose and Shing would rather fight her. Shing scares
Richia with his red Aura, and out of fear, Richia shatters Kohak's spirune
all over the world. Oh and Shing was booted out of Kohak's maze.

Angry about the sudden turn of events, Hisui beats up Shing for making his
sister emotionless. Fortunately, Kohak still has one spirune remaining.
As you leave the house, a beam of light from Kohak points south.
Go down to talk to Kohak and Hisui and agree to go with them, then return up
to save. You can also go inside Shing's house to heal again if you need. You
also gained a new TITLE for Shing.

||  00D2.   Leave the Village - Kiunos                                      ||
||__________________________________________________________________________||

Welcome to the village of Kiunos [kiyunosu]; as the camera pans, you will
surely take note of a fantastic astronomical observatory, with a giant
telescope out of its roof. Sadly, the observatory door is shut tight, so you
can't enter.
Theres a 400Gald chest hidden under a tent on your right. The path to the SW
is blocked by crates on the next screen, so ignore it for now. Head to the SE
and cross a paved bridge for another scene to trigger.
   IMPORTANT WORD: Despir (Sickness)
       A mysterious illness plaguing the people of the world.
The girl at her Soma stand, is Innes. When she's done talking to Hisui, she
just picks up her giant pack and walks off.
Backtrack across the bridge, to the north is a vine ladder you can ascend and
head east to a chest for some material.
Back at the square, continue south. On the right are some crates you can
examine for an Apple Gel. Continue west, past the duck boat and cross the
bridge to the next screen, and meet Uran.
Making your way around west first is the SAVEPOINT, then the INN for 100gald,
then Materials and Item shops. You can examine at the south end of the crates
behind an old woman for some more materials.
   !!!ITEM SHOP NEW ITEMS
     300g  Panacea Bottle : Cure all status ailments
     200g  Liqueur Bottle : Protect against ailments
Now you can enter the observatory, so backtrack and head in. Shing sees a copy
of SLEEPING PRINCESS, so he picks it up very casually. Head into the next room
with the spinning star-dome, and examine the barrels for a Panacea bottle.
Then head up the ramp to talk to Uran. Open the chest before you leave the
observatory.
Basically, Hisui and Shing beg Innes for a Soma that'll help their journey and
she gives Hisui his: GALE ARC.
   !!!NEW PARTY MEMBER!!!
Hisui joins your party, and both him and Shing gain a new title. You also gain
the COMBO PANEL at this point, which lets you link your attacks with party
members- both in your main battle party, and your side party. Incidentally,
Hisui is the main healer for this game, but he also has the trait of wind and
water skills. Since he's in your party, check Hisui's soma menu to see if he
can learn his arte Arataka.
Just outside the observatory to the south is a blond girl in pink who you can
talk to and have 2 options. I'm not sure what either does, but I picked #1 and
she seemed happy.
Make your way back to the SAVEPOINT and then exit the town to the south.

with a SAVEPOINT. Pick up any materials on your way and proceed north. The
chest has some materials in it. At the entrance to the cave you'll run into a
man, Eucles [yukuresu].
After Hisui screams at him, Eucles darts into the cave, and Kohak shoots a
beam of light into the cave- apparently her spirune shard is in the cave.

   =| DUNGEON of LAGOS, creepy cave|=
   ---------------------------------
Inside the Lagos cave [ragosu], you'll have to make your map, just like you
did inside the spir maze. First off, always gather any materials you see.
Head south and open the chest for some Wind material.
The SW path is blocked by a boulder. You can follow the north bridge of that
path up to a chest, then make your way NW via the other route to a Light
Stone, then go down and around to the NE.
On this next screen, follow the SW path to the chest, then go back to the
first fork and go north. Continue to the east onto another screen, and run all
the way east until you get to a chest with a Wind Stone. From there, take the
SE route to a mossy rock in some water, and examine for some materials. Then
backtrack to the fork you just passed. Head up, and then west, onto the screen
of the first map and make your way around the loop. Here there is a SAVEPOINT,
with a Water Stone in a chest just past it.
       My basic understanding of the soma build is:
   Trade in materials, up your stats, try to get basically everything
       listed and it will somehow rank up...
Go south of the Water Stone's chest to the clearing, where the group finally
catches up to Eucles. He has despir sickness, so the only way to fix 'im is
through another dive.

Welcome to the maze diving, Hisui! That's right, because Mr. Handsom has a
soma he can dive with you, and thus any battles will be made easier. Sort of.
If you didn't grab the arte from Shing, Kuuretsusen, then you might want to
explore for more materials so you learn it. The boss here is weak to it, so
make sure it's equipped. (Kuuretsusen is both Aerial and Light damage fyi.)

       !!!SOMA EVOLVE!!!
   Actually, I have no idea what this is really. It's the evolution that
soma goes through to weild you more skills and abilities. What the difference
is between the tree, I think is the type of attack skills you can obtain?
   The soma evolve for Shing lists three branches.

           It costs x1 Light Stone.

Return to the SAVEPOINT and then backtrack back to the cave's entrance. Gather
up materials from the flowers as you go; I know there's two chests on the west
side of the cave, but you can't get over there now. On your way back to town,
head east to a chest with an Earth Stone inside.

Now that you're back in town, head to the material shop first and buy any
materials you might need. I still hadn't bought a blue-arte for Hisui, which
I think is "Share"? It says HP5% in it's description. I think it means he'll
recover some 5% when he heals others.
Return to the SAVEPOINT, then make your way back to the observatory for a
scene.
Now that he's all healed, Eucles and Uran can be together! <3
Kohak's light beam shoots off again to the south, so it's time to get moving
onec more. When you head out of town, Innes will stop you and hands off a

If you didn't open it already, as you head SE, open the chest for an Earth
Stone and then proceed south to the bridge.
So it seems Kohak has only her emotion of 'fear' back, and thus, she fears
everything- that little stumble on the log earlier was no problem, but a full
on bridge is an issue for her now. In fact, she's actually afraid of Hisui
screaming at Shing for scaring her in the first place. [Now, I had to look
this up, but apparently Hisui and Kohak are not twins like I initially
believed, but they are brother and sister; just one year off.]
Continue into a wide plot of land for a scene and a SAVEPOINT.
The group is attacked by monsters, and subsequentally saved by a flying
angel-guy. (I know, I have the best terminology.)
Our new friend, Calcedny Arcome, thinks Kohak has the despir sickness- well,
I guess he's not too far off.
Once you regain control, SAVEPOINT and then proceed south. Here, you'll see a
sign that says: Henbira and Kiyunosu. [Three other guides translate it as
Henzera though, so that's what I'll use.]
The entrance to the city is right above the sign.
   By the way, I'm not the only one noticing the EG gauge in battle is
switching between blue and red now, right? It seems to turn red when lots of
actions are taken, which maybe that's the CG gauge, and the blue is the EG
gauge. How to get them to go up, I think is limited to having all 3 party
members and combo-attacking together. And... maybe not ordering Hisui to
heal on the Link board? I'm not sure still... x_x;

           ....I think that's what they do, I'm really only sure
                       about Poison Charm and Knight Symbol.
           YOU CAN FIND A FREE POISON CHARM IN TOWN.

Circle to the left of the INN to open the chest for 800g, and examine the
barrels right there. Then go a bit farther left to the other chest, for a
bottle. Also, loop between the INN and the ACC shop to the two pigs, and
examine around the left pig for a tusk or something.
Up the ramp left of the INN is your ITEM shop.
   !!!ITEM SHOP NEW ITEMS
     250g  Holy Bottle : Keep enemies away for a time
     250g  Dark Bottle : Bring enemies to you for a time

At the top of the square is the material shop, which will now sell all of the
elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark And some other things of use.
Left of her shop are some barrels that you can examine.
When you're ready, talk to the girl in red- who's a painter- for a little
scene.
After that, go inside the inn. He's trying to charge us 300g, and his wife
doesn't like it. So we stay for free~ SAVEPOINT is here inside the INN.
Examine the cupboard at the base of the stairs. Head upstairs into the room
and examine the desk for a LIFE BOTTLE.
Head back up to the square where the painter is and scene. Now, you'll meet
Ecaille, who wants you to meet Chen Ta-ren. Before meeting Chen, you can go
get some free items scattered around town. Since you're automatically at the
top of the ramp, head to the west. You can go inside the building there, which
is the church and there's nothing of interest right now. Go W, head inside the
building at the NW and open the chest inside for a yellow vial. Exit and go a
little south to the roof with the bird nest on it, examine the nest for a
feather. Go inside the other building on the west down one level, open the
chest for a Poison Charm. Leave the building and go south onto the beach;
examine the barrels on the left for a purple vial. Go right along the beach,
up above the guy in the red bandana and examine the mossy planks of wood for a
cotton puff. From this screen or from the screen with the INN, go north to a
small courtyard and continue farther north where a building is and a scene
will trigger- this is Chen's mansion.
Ecaille will now introduce you to Chen Ta-ren. Our snippy painter from before,
Beryl, will interrupt our conversation. It turns out that both Chen and Beryl
have despir sickness. Either way, Beryl was chased out so you have to go after
her.
Exit the mansion and head SW to the area where you just grabbed all those
items. Beryl ran into the shack on the bottom level on the west. You have to
help her, so let's get to it. I'm paranoid, so I returned to the inn to SAVE.

the maze. It's got three levels so be careful.
   REMEMBER: Step counter, hits 0 GAMEOVER. Monsters/Red chests restore,
       green chests are items. Head for the orange dot.
If you run into ostritches, they're weak to Shing's Kuuretsusen, or aerial
attacks that Hisui delivers. There's also some purple bats (weak to Light),
and weird egg-looking things (weak to Wind).
At the last level you'll run into the two Beryl's again. They think Shing is
not going to help him, so they summon a rock-blob monster to attack.

easier.

Upon his defeat, a black spirune is obtained.
Once you have control again, return to the INN. You'll run into a girl with

she is afraid of it, so the boys leave her to rest. Because of this, the girl
has the perfect chance to kidnap her.

As soon as you enter, you'll see a SAVEPOINT directly north of you.
From there, the path splits WEST or EAST. I'm heading WEST first. Continue W
up the path to the next screen, and take the SW path to the chest for a Dark
Stone. The path will crumble as you go, so be careful. Continue W where a path
will fall down, so backtrack to the fork and go north. A boulder blocks the
north path, so proceed east to the next screen, open the chest for a Earth
Stone. Hopefully, Hisui has Wind Blade by now, as that will come in handy.
Make your way back to the SAVEPOINT. The path to the east of the SAVE is a
deadend, so ignore it. Go west to the fork and head EAST. Take the lower path
to the next screen. Continue east to an open building where a chest is with a
Fire Stone x3. Head a bit farther east for a chest with a Fairy Tale, that's
a plant [I still say it's Fear Tail.] Go north up the path to that fork, and
go east (west is blocked by a boulder), and around the loop. You'll be told
you can move stuff. So move the boulder over and demolish the boulder below.
Head down to the boulder you destroyed and make your way west. You'll get to
another little boulder that can be pushed onto the one below, so do so. Then
backtrack back to the SAVEPOINT.

Head WEST to the next screen and make your way West and North up to where you
destroyed the boulder. Head up the path making your way west. The down-path
leads to a boulder you can push into the ground that had crumbled earlier.
Instead, head north to the next screen- you'll see another SAVEPOINT just N of
you- don't go up, instead make your way east onto the next screen and loop
down to the chest for an Earth Stone x2. Return to the previous screen, and
take the fork up to the far east to a chest for an accessory: Biyohan (gold
bracelet with a rubber ducky on it). [I think it's a stun charm... So I put it
on Hisui.] Return to that fork at the east and proceed up. There'll be a
boulder for you to push left to destroy the rock below. At the top of this
same path is a chest with a Life Bottle in it. [By the way, I found a golden
spider web which I'm translating as FRESH SPIDER WEB thanks to a buddy <3.]
Backtrack to the SAVE on this screen and go up the west path to a chest with
some pebbles in it. I backtracked to the previous screen, crossing over the
path that had crumbled away (and then a boulder filled the path) for a chest
with a Light Stone.

When you're ready, from the new SAVEPOINT, head NW up the path to a large
clearing at the top of the mountain. The ground will crumble briefly once as
you pass a section.
Here you'll find the pink-haired girl, Peridot, and a crying Kohak, hoping her
brother will come save her. Peridot tells her to shut up already. Shing can't
stand seeing Kohak being bullied, so he rushes up to save her and then tells
her to run away; but Kohak's too afraid to. Beryl takes the black spirune to
Kohak, and I think installs it... Either way, Kohak kicks Peridot away and
runs up the mountain farther, while Peridot thinks it was her soma.

I didn't find her hard at all... But Beryl knew Ice Needles at this point, and
I was able to get a few good combos on her. She can hit hard so make sure
Hisui is healing and if not, have some Apple Gels handy.
After the battle, Peridot scampers off (probably vowing to return), and Shing
asks if Kohak is ok. As he goes to her, the narrow path she went up crumbles
down and she screams in fear. Shing ignores the urging of Beryl to stay back,
as she holds Hisui back, and jumps forth to get Kohak back to safety. Kohak
basically cries about how it's scary and she can't do it. Some more talking,
Kohak listens to Shing and they jump off just in time to safety. Now we just
got a white spirune! Hisui screams at Shing for being an idiot, but does thank
him for saving his sister.
Make your way back to the first SAVEPOINT and out to world map, gather up any
materials along the way.

BERYL REJOINS THE PARTY

By the way, I checked both ports and was unable to find any items scattered in
any of the barrels, crates or piles of food. The sailors must've been watching
extra carefully to make sure we couldn't just pick something up...
Our menu has also been completed. The HEAL STONE has been added- the blue
crystal between the gold sword (soma) and books (library). The WORLD MAP was
put into the library, and it's icon is, a tiny minature version of a map.
The world map, you can examine the blue dots (peaceful areas) and see any
inventory of the shops that was there, including prices. You can toggle to see
the dungeons with the L/R buttons, but can't examine farther.
 = Minor Note =
You can also backtrack to S. Penderoak Port. When you examine to leave the
port you'll be given an option menu. The top option will take you to the 3D
overworld map, where there are no enemies. This will make backtracking easier
if you need to. The bottom option will take you back to the field travel that
you have done before. Another cool thing about the overworld map: you can SAVE
anywhere on it. Run up to the start of the next area you wanna go to, and just
SAVE instead. It's a very handy reminder of where you left off last.
                     !!!!MINI-GAME!!!!
                Talk to the sailor at the top of the square in the center of
the diamond and he'll give you three options, just pick the top one to start
the game. Give it a few tries and you'll catch on fast. Basically he'll drop
a bunch of crates down and it's your job to count how many there are. You can
use the L and R buttons to rotate the pile to make sure. If you answer
correctly, the level will change and he'll put down more crates for you to
count up. When you lose, he'll give you some materials.

As soon as you're ready, leave the port to the east to the world map. Since
you haven't explored this area you do not have access to the overworld yet.

OPTIONAL......................................................................
Now that you have the world map shortcuts, this'll make backtracking faster.

#1. Head to Henzera and run up to the square by the material shop to trigger a
scene. Pick the first choice. Go out into the field of Penderoak and go to the
north camp point where you'll be surrounded by monsters you fight. Return to

#2. Go over to the west screen to the warehouse where you spir-dived into
Beryl, and talk to the man with blue hair by the door. I chose the top option
and was treated to a scene of Shing and Hisui fighting so much that they
actually scare off the trio that came to threaten the man. You'll get 1000gald
for your efforts, or amusement.
#3. Go in to Kiunos and go back into the observatory. Go to the 2nd floor to
find out the Eucles. You can talk to him and the group will look through the

                           Beryl- green [Gogiyan].
       This is just my own preferred battle style.

Talk to the old man standing outside the blue-tented bazaar and he'll say that
there's a lack of despir sickness here. The girl returns to apologize to Shing
and Hisui, but runs off to the NE. Go ahead and follow her up there for a
scene. Apparently, the girl had despir sickness but was cured by a knight who
is now relaxing in the hotspring- on the women's side. Run in there, Shing
goes alone, as Hisui is smart enough to stay back. Shing gets kicked out [and
gets a new title]. Beryl and Kohak follow him out, as they're followed by
Peridot. Calcedny walks out of the bazaar just in time to join in on the
action. Then the guy with the blaster from earlier shows up, and BAM hits
Hisui down into the ground. The group leaves since Mr. Handsome is unconcious,
they don't see a reason to take Kohak when they have one of her spirunes, and
Calcedny thinks it's connected to the monsters and despir. Your party rests at
the bazaar while Hisui will be unconcious for a bit. Kohak suggests that the
best way to wake him up is with some nice cold water, which is in a spring at
the back of the village.
HISUI LEAVES THE PARTY. BERYL REJOINS THE PARTY.

When you're ready, leave the bazaar and make your way west back around to the
tree at the spring. As you approach the large tree, a scene will occur. Innes
asks us to deliver a letter for her since we have to chase down Calcedny any-
way. After she tells us to head to the west over a mountain path, she gives us
the letter.
HISUI REJOINS THE PARTY.

As you head out of town, you'll run into a strange tanuki guy who'll give you
the SORCERER'S RING. There'll be a brief tutorial on how to use it:
       SORCERER'S RING USE : Press Y
           Fire Blast, Starting Ability
           Select the ability to use on the bottom screen, it
           turns orange
       You can use the ring to stun enemies before they attack you.
There's nothing left to do in the town for now, so head on out.

the farther east path (it's shorter in length) to enter the next area.

END OPTIONAL..................................................................

As you stepforward, you'll get a brief scene. The lever is moved by the power
of the Sorcerer's Ring. From where you start, proceed up, then left to a chest
with a DARK BOTTLE. The down path leads to a dead end, so instead, go through
the way just opened when you entered. There's a spider's web, so burn it with
the Sorcerer's Ring.
You'll come to another fork; the top path is blocked. Continue right to the
lever, hit it with the Ring, and then go up, and burn the web. You'll be
looped around and going down. At the next fork, you can go down and talk to
the shiny blue crystal. Now go left and hit the lever on the left with a fire
blast and a gate will open. Loop back up and left to go to that fork, and go
down to the chest where a BLACK SCARF is in a chest.
Go left to the puzzle board: GOAL: Make all the pieces gold.
   1 2 3 4
   5 6 7 8
The order is 5, 6, 7, 3, 4, 8, 7, 3, 2. Do not leave the board or it'll count
that as a double-step and fail.
The chest below holds a BLIND CHECK. Now loop back around to the right, and
take the exit to the right to the next screen.

Here, the group sees some engravings on the walls- really anicent- starting
with a picture of a flying whale, "Winged Whale", who is the church's deity.
Kohak walks over and sees the other mural is of Zerom, and is afraid of it.
The door between the murals is locked, so just proceed right.
At this next screen, proceed up from the fork to talk to the shiny crystal,
which helps your Heal Stone. Return to the fork and continue right to the next
fork, and go up to another Heal Crystal. Go back to the first crystal and hit
the lever with the Ring, and go down.
There's another glyph puzzle here.
   1 2 3 4
   5 6 7 8
The order is 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 7, 6, 2, 3. Do not leave the board or it'll count
that as a double-step and fail.
The chest below holds a DARK BOTTLE. Continue your way right until a fork is
apart from the first 3, and head up for 800gald. If you go right, you'll EXIT,
but there's one more thing to grab still. So hit the lever, proceed up, hit
the next lever and go up again to the chest for a Bird Talon x4, and then go
ahead and exit.

As soon as you get out, you'll be next to a SAVEPOINT.
Make your way down to the right for a scene, where the group has caught up to
Calcedny's group.

As you enter the Imperial Capital, the group will remark on how all they see
is a wall. Beryl enlightens them that it's a fortress city and is in a
strategic location.
Far up to the left is a chest with 1000gald. There's a SAVEPOINT by the gates
which you can use. Click on the gates to open them and then enter. Stepping
forward will trigger a scene. You'll see Calcedny and some soldiers aren't
really on good terms. Shing saves the soldiers from being attacked by him, and
then Calcedny releases his blue aura on Shing, knocking him down. In short,
Shing is captured by the knights. Worried about him, Kohak runs to follow.
SHING LEAVES THE PARTY.

To your left are the shops: ITEM ACC MATERIAL
To the right is the INN and SAVEPOINT. There's also the Heal Stone shop here.
Before you go find Kohak, run up to the left, and continue to the next screen.
Go all the way toward the entry point [red mark on the map], to the left is a
wagon where you can get some Fire Stones, and the right has some Life Bottles.
The man by the chest on the right, won't let you open the chest.

you the current minute-time, and then tell you his schedule. He's free from
5~10, 20~25, 35~40, and 50~55. Talk to him during these times and he'll give
you the reward. Or rather, he'll walk away from the chest, letting you raid
it.
END OPTIONAL..................................................................

To find Kohak, return to the first screen and circle up behind the shops. She
is just about to run off again when a man in a cloak shows up. Turns out he's
Garnet, the guy Innes wanted us to deliver the letter to! You'll automatically
deliver the letter, and Garnet will mention he needs two soma users for the
church, and Hisui mentions that they'll help him, if he can get them into the
church. Garnet agrees to this.

Head to the east of the inn for a scene. It'll cut to Shing and Calcedny first
off. Apparently this old man, Father Arkham, knows Shing's grandfather. He
asks to meet with Shing in private. The two talk, Arkham asking Shing to join
the Crystal Knights as a Soma user (aka work for the church), but before Shing
can answer, Calcedny is shoved aside as two men burst in- namely Grossular-
who is accusing Arkham of using his son (Calcedny I think) to take advantage
of their queen, Paraiba. Arkham mentions a despir sickness in a lake city,
which catches Shing's attention. After Shing proclaims he'll fix Kohak and
despir, Grossular leaves, and the other guy mentions that Soma isn't the only
thing that can use Spiria. After, again Arkham asks Shing to join, and he
refuses.
After that, Shing is locked in a room with Calcedny, who resolves to stop
despir, just like Shing. He says their actions aren't the same and goes to
leave, when Shing returns the pendant to him. You can't do anything except
examine the door at the south. The game will automatically switch back to
Hisui's side.

Hisui tells Beryl to stop talking loudly once they're in and left alone, and
proclaims they have to look for the idiot's soma and then the idiot himself.
Run up to the left to go into Arkham's office. Left of the blue sofas you can
find Peach Gels x2 (they're pink/purple and restore 50% HP). Over on his desk
is a chest of Shing's soma. [If you lost to Calcedny earlier, you'll recover
the pink spirune here.] Behind his desk you can find a green vial. Return to
the main room and go up the stairs on the left to the next flight, and cross
to the right to go outside. Cross the bridge and open the tower door.
SHING REJOINS THE PARTY.

Return back left over the bridge for a scene. Kohak will stop and her beam of
light will shoot out to the NE. Arkham and Calcedny will interrupt your escape
so Shing and co. jump off the bridge onto Innes's bag. Apparently Arkham
believes that Kohak is the daughter of Iola, and thinks Kohak is the cause of
the despir. The box Garnet left inside the church explodes just then. Calcedny
jumps down to stop your escape, but Innes smacks him away easily.

You can make some stops in town if you want before you leave. Once you're out
a scene occurs and Innes tells you how to get to the lake city, Shalrowe.
INNES JOINS THE PARTY.

You'll get the soma, Folseus, when Innes joins you.

As you enter the area, you'll see that you're not in the actual city. You can
see it in the distance, far out on the lake itself. I ended up translating
this area as "Tsuyarurou" [Suyaluro], but other guides refer to this place as:
Chalrault, and Shalrowe.
Before entering the city, head to the right and examine the empty table for
500gald. Examine the crates on the far left for some Hemp.
Then proceed to the center and talk to the boat man to be taken into the
actual city. Once in, examine the crates immediately up to the left for a
scale. Proceed left up the ramp for a scene. Basically everyone in the city is
sick with despir. Hisui says we should find the saddest person, who happens to
be Beryl's artist-idol, Smithsona.
Once the scene is done, examine the stand to the bottom right of you for some
Apple Gels. Go up to the cafe, and examine the table on the right that's empty
for some gald.

At the far north of town is the Library. Go in and select the 2nd option with

if you want every single item in the game.

When you're good, head out to the NW of the town to a single house at the end
of the pathway. This is Smithsona's house. After Beryl oggles the art on the
walls, you hear crying coming from the next room and run up to see a blind,
and depressed painter, Smithsona- who also doesn't want to spirlink with soma
users- looking at an artist's spiria is blashmemous for art, or something.

   ________________________________
   =| MAZE of SMITHSONA, depress |=
   --------------------------------
There's really nothing much to be said about this... You don't really dive in
and explore, and the zerom you defeat are very weak. However, it turns out
that the old man was just faking being blind. And there's no spirune here
sadly.

After the end of the scene, go around to the center of the city and talk to
the boatman to the north of the little square dock. He'll take you to the
next district to the north, the same area where Smithsona's manor is, but now
you're on the right side.
The path is straight forward, just follow it up the stairs to the manor for a
scene. Here you'll see a girl trying to jump off and die to be with her boy-
friend and immediately Shing says they'll spirdive. You'll have to get around
to her immediate front to speak to her and dive.

   ________________________________
   =| MAZE of CASSIDY, suicide   |=     [kiyatsutei]
   --------------------------------
Just like with Smithsona, there's not much here other than a pretty simple
battle system and no spirune. Inside, Cassidy mentions that she had told
Marin about her depression over losing her fiancee, and after that she felt
sad about his death all over again.

   __________________________________
   =| TOWN of SHALROWE, lake city  |=
   ----------------------------------
Outside, the group asks if Cassidy was telling the truth, that Marin is her
master- which is confirmed. Marin walks up to explain that she's unbearably
sad and can't even cry anymore. Now Hisui is convinced the spirune they're
looking for is inside this girl. Marin mentions something about sluice gate,
and then leaves in a flash of light. For those of you that don't know, sluice
gates are positioned on rivers that empty into larger bodies of water (ie.
lakes), and are generally controlled with the regulating of opening and
closing said 'sluice gate'. This is a city built on a lake which has been
artificially lowered due to the presence of a sluice gate controlling the
river that leads into it- if the gate control is changed, bye-bye Shalrowe.

You can head on into the manor just behind Cassidy. Examine the grandfather
clock for a vial. Go upstairs and examine the mirror cabinet.
   [For the record, I have no idea what these vials of color are for.
It seems that they are TOOLS and can be seen in your possession from the menu
system, but cannot be used/seen while in-battle. So I figure thus far, they
serve some other function that just hasn't been explained yet.]

Any HERBS you obtain are for stat-boosting. If it's got a ix shape in the
first kanji, that's for ATK. If it's got a Bh kanji, it's for DEF. And a i*
is M.ATK.
In the menu, click DOWN to hover over a character, click confirm and then
press Y to see their stats list:
       Atk, M.Atk, Def, M.Def, Acc, Eva, Focus
For example, I have three HERBS right now: Belbene, Blue Lavender, and Blue
Belbene. Belbene is for DEF; B. Lavender is for ATK; B. Belbene is for DEF.
However, Belbene only raises the stat by 1, while the Blue's raise by 2.

Head south and return to speak to the boatman and he'll take you back to the
main part of town.
When you're ready, exit out by talking to the boatman at the south part of
the center docks. He's got a purple bandana on his head.

       !!!HEAL STONE SHOP
           You can also buy the "at the end of battle" option
       from the Heal Stone shop now. The shop is located inside the
       INN on the first floor. Select the second option, then the
       first option. The first item in the list is "at the end of
       battle", priced 735gald.
           The top optin in the first screen will recover your
       Heal Stone to full capacity. ie. If you set up to heal 10%HP
       at the end of every battle, you'll run out of points fast, so
       be sure to heal up, or turn off that option from the stone.

Proceed to the archway at the left for a scene. Inside the INN, the flower pot
the left of the Heal Stone desk is an item. To the right of the INN, at the
next screen, head up to the top of the platform and examine the empty bench
for 200gald.

Since you were told off by the macho men, it's time to show them up. So from
the INN, go west and to the first west building where a blond is standing-
this is the game's ARENA. Inside is a SAVEPOINT, and when you're ready head up
the ramp for a scene.
As the announcer encourages the fighting of the area (for spiria users), Hisui
notices that Kohak is getting afraid and suggest they leave. Shing notices
that the reward for the current tournament is Kohak's spirune.
Exit back down the ramp for a scene. Hisui and Shing argue. Hisui thinks it's
a better idea to just swipe the spirune when no one's looking and Shing thinks
that's too underhanded and would rather win it fair and square- then then
argue about why the spirune is there in the first place, which Shing hits
Hisui to "shut up cowards".
To settle this, Innes decides it's best to enter as two different parties
to have a better chance of winning. You can pick Innes or Beryl to be your
partner. Now Beryl is a pure-caster, which means she's suspect to being hit a
lot more and dying faster, for that purpose, I'm going with Innes. The boys
part angry with each other.
HISUI & [girl you didn't pick] LEAVE THE PARTY.

When you're ready go over to the far left, up the ramp, and talk to the guy in
the red bandana. Choose 'yes' to enter. You'll have to fight two rounds of
monsters before a scene break- the monsters are the same that are outside the
city, so you should be okay. If you haven't been using Innes in your party,
remember that her gauge will be empty. Their time apart hasn't mellowed their
anger at each other, cause as soon as Hisui and Shing get a brief moment to
chat, it's all arguing. In fact, they whip out their soma right here in the
foyer to fight. Before they can attack each other a guy with dark green hair
comes up and starts flirting with Kohak, talking to her about how she looks
like the emerald-haired sleeping princess [he means Richea]- and it turns out
that this duff is the Champion, Ames [amesu or "Ameth"]. And just cause he can
because it's funny, Ames proclaims that he 'devotes' himself to Kohak, and
thinks the trophy's gem would be a perfect gift for her. This pisses off both
Hisui and Shing (because he's flirting with a girl they value, or because he's
proclaiming that Hisui and Shing will lose, I'm not sure...). And just like
that, he's gone. Hisui decides to follow, so Beryl follows him.

Shing figures it's a good idea to follow him, so let's do that. SAVE at the
SAVEPOINT before heading out.

You might have a bit of difficulty with the monsters since your healer up and
left you... So make use of the Heal Stone and items. Head on to the east, and
go to the next screen. You'll see a large tower in front of you.

   =| DUNGEON of KING'S CROSS,tower|=   [kingu kurosu]
   ---------------------------------
Hisui and Shing rush up to enter the tower, leaving the girls behind. Innes
asks Kohak to wait here at the base, since apparently Kohak has a fear of
heights- ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER THAT SHE SHOVED HISUI OFF A CLIFF AT THE START
OF THIS!? WHERE DID THAT FEAR COME FROM? Geeze. The announcer mentions death,
and worried about the boys, Kohak runs in after them. Inside, Kohak rejoins
the group and they decide to team up until the top.
HISUI & [girl you didn't pick] REJOIN THE PARTY.
   To switch around who's in your party, click down at the menu to hover
and then click Y to select character A and then hover over character B and
confirm.
(I'd like to note that for the first time at the end of a battle both Beryl
and Hisui were pissed at Shing at the end. I'm not sure what was said, but
both of them had the little annoyed emotes over their heads and Hisui looked
ready to smack Shing.)
The majority of the monsters here are flying types, so be careful of them
interrupting Hisui when he's casting heals- he starts off his casting with
the phrase "matendaiyo", or something like that, which I think means "wait a
sec".

You're goal is to continue up the spiral until you reach a room with odd
plants and moss.
THE CHEST TO YOUR IMMEDIATE RIGHT IS A FAKE!!! It's difficult, but not hard to
beat. You won't be doing only 1 damage to it, but it can hurt you pretty good.
Defeat it for a Bro Detect Mark (15%+ DEF).
The chest below the are you entered at has Wind Stone x2. From that chest,
proceed down-right to a Heal Stone and a blue tablet. You have to shoot the
yellow cube left of the tablet to light up the script on it, but the flame
won't stay lit yet. To the upper-right of this level is another tablet, and
the largest is right by the entrance you came in. From that upper-right tablet
there's a path to continue left, take it, and go up to the chest for Dark
Stone x4. Examine the red fruit next to it for a walnut.
Return to where you entered and go left, making your way straight up to a
chest THAT'S A FAKE. Defeat it for a dragon fin x2. Examine the fruit to its
left for some more walnuts. To the left is the next tablet. Make your way
down to the left to the next chest for some... Dragon Candy? I have no idea.
It kinda looks like an egg too... Maybe it's a venus-fly-trap-mouth? I'll just
call it 'dragon candy' for now. Continue down-left, taking the right path and
examine the fruit for a walnut. The chest to the lower right has 500gald.
To the left of this chest is the last tablet.

Now, to keep the torches lit, you need those 'walnuts' you picked up. Start
with the torch you're next to first, #4. Examine the yellow cube to put in the
walnut, then shoot it with fire from the Sorcerer's Ring, and then examine the
tablet to pick up a letter: "A". Then run around to the next nearest tablet,
#1: "P". Run back around to #5: "U", and #2: "M".
Return to #3 and put in a walnut then shoot the torch and examine the tablet.
Enter in the letters in the order P A M U. The door above will slide open.
You'll get dragon fin x5.

| 1  F       2   |    Number and postions of the tablets.
|      F         |    F= FAKE chests
|       3  F     |
|                |
|4             5 |
------------------
Battle the FAKE before proceeding up the next floor.

You'll see a SAVEPOINT, Heal Stone and 3 chests on the map. The first chest is
to your immediate right, holding Panacea Bottles x3. The Heal Stone can
restore your Stone's energy by 30%. Proceed up the ramp when you're ready; the
next chest you'll come across is Water Stone x4. Continue up, and the last
chest is Earth Stone x3.

Here you'll reach the next puzzle room. Immediately to you're right your path
will be blocked, so continue up. Examine the wall above you and make your way
left and then down to the chest for a Dots Ring (it increases something by
15%). If you go left-up from there through another wall, the chest is a FAKE,
and it'll drop a gold bottle. From there, make your way back to the entrance
and head right, you should pass a door with a gold eye on it. Continue and
you'll make it to a chest with Light Stone x2. Make your way back up and left
through at least two walls until you're in the lower left corner for Fire
Stone x3. From there, you should be able to make your way to the bottom-
center to the chest that's trapped between two walls- it's another FAKE, which
will drop some dragon fin x5. Go back left around the block to raise the wall
and then loop around again to get the chest at the right for that dragon candy
thing. Continue to the right for another FAKE chest, and it'll drop some iron.
Return to the area with the 2 walls where the trapped FAKE was, and open the
wall to be slid to the right- to go up the path to the next level.
I'm sorry these aren't clearer instructions, but it's mostly just running
around and figuring out which way the walls will slide.

Up here is a scene. Shing and Hisui race to the top ignoring that Beryl and
Kohak are afraid of the height. Innes says we're almost to the top. There's a
chest to your right you can open for some black bug leg thing, and above is
another Heal Stone. Up the next level, some of the floor will fall out from
you- so try to walk. The chest to the middle-right has Apple Gels x4.
WARNING The monster in BLUE here is a good idea to avoid: it has more HP than
normal and can easily overpower you. Be careful.
There's a chest here with 1000 gald. The final chest up on the next level has
Light Stone x2.

The next level up immediately is a SAVEPOINT.
From there you can go NE, SE, NW or SW.
SE: Takes you to a platform with a chest in the middle that has a pink belt.
NW: Takes you to another platform with a chest for Wind Stone x3.
SW: Dead end, nothing of interest.
NE: proceed this route for a scene where you'll see the trophy finally.

It turns out Ames used an airship to cheat his way up to the top for the
trophy and remarks that no where in the rules does that say it's not allowed.
He proclaims that with these underhanded tactics he's the King of Heroes, and
then something about being partners with Kohak. It turns out the weirdo has
despir.

the end of battle; amounts differ on how you do in battle: damage taken, how
many combos, items used, time of battle, and so on.

After you beat him up, he'll bid Kohak good-bye and return to his airship.
Oh well, back to Hisui and Shing arguing over who will be Kohak's hero. In
short, she saves them herself. You finally obtain the cyan spirune.
The announcer comes up and says Kohak is the winner~ She received a "brave
heart" title and Innes gets "broke".
   !!!NEW PARTY MEMBER!!!
KOHAK JOINS THE PARTY.

   =| TOWN of YURAIO, amusementpark|=
   ----------------------------------
After the fact, it turns out that Kohak was registered with Ames's team, but
he did that after the deadline which means there's no winner for the year.
And Kohak's a little sick/tired because she used her soma with her spiria not
yet complete.
(This is a good time to buy Kohak's soma stuff in the menu before you forget.)
Kohak's starting artes include:
   HEAL- 50% HP
   ANTIDOTE- Heal's poison or general status effects
   FIRE BOMB
   FLAME GUN
Kohak's party image shows her as normal, but when you check her Status image,
her eyes are empty of pupils and she looks 'broken'. This is because her
spiria isn't complete.

Exit and you'll run into the mole man Windam again. After the Sorcerer's Ring
is upgraded, Beryl mentions she wants to rest at the hotel.

Before you do, run to the item shops at the SE and make your way north to the
next screen. Pass over the grates and talk to the old man next to the empty
bench. The options are yes/no, the top being yes. So pick YES, then the 1st
option, then the 2nd until he gives you the Magial Aroma. *If you mess up, I
don't think he'll let you talk to him again. I screwed up my second time and
he wouldn't give me the option to answer the questions again.

Go into the INN and talk to the man behind the counter on the 2nd floor. Beryl
had made a bet that no one would win, so she got some winnings from that and
is forced to pay for a suite for Kohak to rest in. Angry about losing money
she was going to buy art supplies with, she goes off to sketch and Shing goes
to get food for Kohak.
KOHAK, HISUI AND INNES LEAVE THE PARTY.

After, you'll get a brief 'skit' scene :D After that*, head off back to the
arena into the bleachers and a scene will occur. Incarose will attack Shing
and Beryl, saying that she's unsure of how his power has grown and won't kill
him.
*When you have free control, you can backtrack into the INN and go down into
the CASINO. On the 2nd floor to the left of the desk is a pair of blue doors,
examine them and select the bottom option to be taken down into the CASINO.
The empty table to the lower left has Wind Stone x3. The table just above it
has orange vial x3. The empty table to the right has 1500 gald. Go back to the
elevator and select the bottom option to be taken to the upstairs suite. The
table by the mirror in the center has a green vial x2.*

After the scene switches back to Hisui's side. They hear the explosion and run
out to check on the area. Innes hear's Garnet, meaning the army is moving.
Back to Shing, he apologizes for hurting Beryl and ruining her painting. Some
soldiers come in, led by Colonel-Pin [konerupin]. Just then, Hisui and Kohak
arrive, only for Kohak's beam of light to point out that Pin has one of her
spirunes. Apparently he's researching the zerom that are in spiria's and he
thinks Kohak will be a benefit to his research. He mentions that despir is
the disease that happens when someone's spiria is overrun (or contaminated) by
zerom, and he wants to know where the zerom originate.
You can chose to accept to help him or refuse. After that, one of the soldiers
will use a red aura like Shing has and knock the group unconscious.

{If you chose to reject him, you'll have a scene with Innes I believe and Pin
will run off. You'll have to make your way to the Rignator by foot, I think.
I took the bottom decision, which I'm guessing is cooperating with him.}

REFUSING: {I think pick the top choice.}
Crystal Knights will be on their way, Pin will leave and then Innes shows up.
Your party will join together again. Ames will show up saying that he's here
to make up for being bad and will fly you to the Garrison. You can chose to
go by land or air- if you go by land you have to go SW out of town apparently.
Either way, once you get in, you'll have to surrender and end up in the same
prison as mentioned below.

   _________________________________........0D7B.
   =| DUNGEON of RIGNATOR,garrison|=   [rigunatoru]
   ---------------------------------
When the group wakes up, you'll find you have been transported to an Imperial
Army Garrison: Rignator. I know, it sounds like something that's going to
a) move suddenly or b) blow up. I'm personally hoping, it's gonna move. Pin
will come in and escort the group through the structure to some sort of
storage room. You'll have to talk to Pin again to proceed forward. BTW Your
soma's been taken from you, so you can't defend yourself. *Innes will not be
in the prison with you.*
In this new room, Pin will mention that this doll was found in some ruins that
date from the Stone Age, which is a time over 2000 years prior with no records
from then.
The long conversation summary: the doll before you is a mechanical doll, made
during the Stone Age. The soma, mind stones, zerom and the powers of artes all
date from that time period. The people could control mind monsters (zerom).
Shing and Kohak point out to the man who also escorted you, Morga, that zerom
and despir are spreading because Kohak's spiria is broken (by Shing).
The scene will cut to Innes, who runs into the man taking our soma away.

Back to Shing's group. Kohak will recite a poem that sounds an awful lot like
some sort of order (you are my shield, my sword, Quartz) and the doll will
move. Innes will bust in to save you, giving back your somas. She'll ask if
the doll is a Quartzite relic.
EVERYONE'S REJOINED THE PARTY

There's no reason to stay in the room, so exit out.
**It's a great idea to have either Kohak's fire skills on the shortcut panel
or have her in your party because mostly everything here is weak to fire.
At you're upper right is a SAVEPOINT, and lower left is a shop machine that
sells simple things, like Life Bottles and Apple Gels.
The chest down the ramp below you has Life Bottles x3. Switch your Sorcerer's
Ring to the blue option and blast the crystals at the far left and right on
the level with the SAVEPOINT To lower the bridges. Take the path to the left
to the next screen. Out here is a chest Fire Stone x3. Back inside, the far
right path will loop around to an elevator that'll take you up.
Continue across the ramp and take it down to the next SAVEPOINT. Make your way
to the upper right to a wide area, where at the upper-right is a chest with
the bird claw x4. The blue stone below it will lower the ramp, which you can
take down and around outside. Cross the bridge and go down to the chest for
Light Stone x3. The door here will take you to the lower area from the first
SAVE. Loop to the right and shoot the crystal to lower the ramp. To the far
right is a chest with Apple Gel x5. In the room to the right is a Heal Stone.
The left room will take you to a chest with ancient shell x6.
Back in the other room, make your way down the ramps to the bottom level and
go to the far right to the chest for a Mana Ring (up's magic attack by 15%).
Go SW from that chest across a short ramp to another chest with Water Stone x4
inside it. There's an elevator next to it. Outside is a dead end. If you need
to go buy stuff, this elevator will take you up several floors.
There's another level down you can get to via ramp just north of the elevator.
Go down to it and go to the upper left room for a chest with dragon fin x3.
Go up one floor via ramps and enter the door on the left to go to a new maze
area.

Here is the third SAVEPOINT. The downpath will just take you to a dead end, so
ignore it. The upward path will take you to a room with a large black grid and
several doors. The bottom-left is a blue gem, the top-left is a red sun symbol
and the bottom-right is the unicorn-lion.
First you want to get the gem first, so run over to the blue pane land shoot
it with the Sorcerer's Ring-blue and then run over the grid. The goal is to
make all of the panels light up at once- however if you step on a panel, the
ones nearest it will turn off. So you have to run around the edges to get all
of them to turn on. It took me a minute or two to figure it out, but it's not
too hard.
After the gem door moves, there's a chest back there with some gald in it.
Next is the sun wall; shoot the red panel with the Sorcerer's Ring-blue for
the grid to light up and start trying to make the panels light up again.
Behind that wall is another room- with a chest inside that has Dark Stone x3.
Do the same thing for the lion wall too. Behind that wall is a chest with a
Outlet Mark inside. When you return to the grid, if the glyph vanished, just
shoot the lion's panel with the Ring and it should light up. Then light up all
of the panels again.

Another scene happens where Pin comes up and explains things. This is a
machine from ancient times that allows zerom to be controlled sort of... If
you can control one section of a person's emotions (like anger), you can have
a strong soldier. He then rambles on about how he wants to destroy the church
and the people inside it.

Make your way out back to the SAVEPOINT and you'll run into Pin again. He'll
lock the route from you. Turn around and take the door to the left that Innes
wouldn't let you through before.

Shoot the crystal above you with the Sorcerer's Ring to lower the bridge to
the left. Go up through the hole on the right to the chest with Earth Stone
x4. Out around the left to the elevator, select the bottom option to go down,
and over the metal ramp to the SE. Loop outside and through the upper hole,
and in front of you is a chest with 1500 gald inside. To the right, shoot the
crystal with the Ring and then go left. Proceed around and up through the
hole to a chest with a Wind Stone inside.
Go up the elevator, and up again, and shoot the crystal to lower the ramp.
Go down the ramp to the left and inside the hole to a Heal Stone and a dragon
candy x4. Make your way up and around to the right, then work your way around
to the center ramp and circle left around to the SAVEPOINT.
Cross over to the right for a scene.

It turns out that Pin's absorbed Kohak's spirune, which Hisui thinks is the
one with the attribute to anger- which interesting enough, he shows off a
lovely red aura.

If nothing else, he has a lot of HP and can hit you pretty hard. I had Beryl
with a shortcut to use her darkness move and Kohak to use an Apple Gel in case
she couldn't have time to heal.

After the battle, Shing hesitates giving Kohak her spirune back and they're
ambushed by the zerom-soldiers. Kohak stops Hisui from hitting the old man,
who's gone crazy from the zerom and is hit. Just then, our doll-friend comes
up the elevator. With great speed, he realizes the threat to Kohak and saves
her from all of the zerom-soliders.
Apparently this is the revival of the Quartzite era, or something. Innes takes
Kohak down to get the spirune, they recover it and she orders they split up
here and meet up later. As Shing and co. make their getaway to the left, the
doll asks them to wait.

After you're done shopping, the man will ask if you're ready to go, click the

When you leave, a scene will cut in and show that the doll followed Shing out.
From the translation by Jasmine, this is what Kunzite says:
   "Failure in capture of the activation lyricist vessel. Searching for
mind response... Function malfunction. It seems as though my mind detection
function was completely broken in the last bottle. So I cannot specify
Mistress'... and his location. Changing tracking target to the assumed party
of the vessel."

You'll be in a campsite where you can save and then proceed to the NW. As you
go, take a downward fork where a scene will occur. They'll mention how the
magnetic field is just ahead and as they work to make sure it doesn't affect
the body, the kid is almost attacked by a monster. Before Hisui or Shing could
help the kid, the doll zooms in and kills the monster.
Beryl freaks out and thinks the doll is a monster, who promptly introduces
himself as IS206 model 11 type jack all-purpose mechanical being, Kunzite.

Continue following the southern-most path to the west. You'll find a tree you
can shoot down with the Sorcerer's Ring. Backtrack to the fork and take the
northern path and proceed across the tree now.

On the next screen, proceed west, taking the north path. You'll see a bunch
of vines- burn them with the Sorcerer's Ring-red and open the chest for a
Hisuda Mark. Then take the path to the south.

Here at the next screen, go south. At the first fork, go east and blow up the
boulder in the water with the Sorcerer's Ring-blue. Go farther south and knock
the tree down. Return north, and loop back around to the SE path. Make your
way down across the tree heading east. As you make your way down, you'll pass
some more vines to burn, proceeding to the chest for a Lost Vine x3.

After that, go south for a scene at the next area. The travellers mention
that they're going to Estorega for their wedding their daughter wants to see,
and Hisui accuses Shing of thinking of Kohak as his bride. From then, Kunzite
asks if Kohak is Richea's current vessel, which Hisui asks how he knows about
her, and Kunzite says it's confidential and refuses to answer. Hisui explains
that Richia is a legend from his home village, a spirit who's said to live on
in people's spirias. Hisui says that Kohak was influenced by the legend and
said that Richia was in her- which Shing says is true- or rather all he
remembers is seeing a girl with emerald-colored hair inside Kohak's spiria
just before he broke it. Beryl says that's from a fairy tale.

are two boulders you need to destroy, just shoot the one for now. Return north
back to the save point and head west. Continue across the bridge, taking the
north path and go west. Take the eastern path going across a dried up river
to get to the other boulder to destroy. Backtrack to the fork and go south.
You'll cross over the dried river again, and on the far east is a tree you

Return west, making your way north to the top. Going east, take the southern
more path over the bridge of water to the next screen. Here, loop to the west
and cross over the tree. You'll end up going south under the bridges to the
next screen. Follow the path around for a scene. Kunzite will get a title for
abandoning you all, by the way, "Cold Hearted Machine".
KUNZITE LEAVES THE PARTY.

   ----------------------------------
Upon arriving, the family travelling with you will part ways. The wife will
give you the Magnetic Barrier Removal Stone before she leaves so you can pass
through Dosmore whenever you want.
The scene will cut to Calcedny talking to Arkham. Arkham basically concludes
that Kohak has been captured by the military (remember Pin who caught us
earlier and we escaped? Yeah, him) and that he'll have to move to the north
city where the Church is... stronger in case of war. Something like that. He
asks Peridot to escort him. Her Majesty Pairaba comes in and tells Arkham to
not scold Calcedny. Arkham basically threatens that her maids in Shalrowe
have been filling Paraiba's mind with pointless rumors of how terrible despir
is, and that it's really just an illness like a cold- not a disease. Arkham
then asks Calcedny to take Paraiba to Plansur in a few days to make sure she's
kept safe.
The scene cuts to Innes and Kohak as they arrive in the city just a bit before
us. Innes asks Kohak for a favor about her new spriune, but they're caught
right away by Calcedny. Innes has to give up the new spirune to him. Just as
Calcedny asks where Shing is, our party rushes in to save the day.
Shing tries to explain to Calcedny that because of Kohak's spirune a war will
break out between the Church and the Military. Paraiba runs up and begs him to
not fight with Shing, and says he's just like any other adult- rushing to use
violence to solve everything. As she starts to cry and confused, Calcedny
absorbs the spirune into his body- and becomes tormented and angry at us.
To help Cal, Brocks goes in ahead of us.

Talk to him to enter his maze. As soon as you do, Kunzite will walk up. I have
no idea how he got behind us when he left first... Maybe he got lost in the
city looking for the artes signal of Richea, which apparently he found due to
us doing a spirlink. He then proceeds to follow us into Calcedny.
Kunzite wonders why the vessel's spirune was broken by Soma Knights and is
worried if Richea is okay or not. Hisui agrees, yes it was Soma Knights that
broke it (and Shing asks why he lied) and asks Kunzite to help them get this
piece of the spirune back.

After defeating him, Kunzite notices that Brocks is still being a violent
threat and says he's going to suspend Brocks's biological functions... He's
stopped when a child-form of Calcedny appears and shields Brocks.
For Lady Paraiba, Calcedny will not allow us to hurt Brocks or ruin the dream
that they've built up to create a world where Paraiba is always smiling. With
that power, Calcedny forces us out of his spiria.
Kunzite goes to Kohak, calling her just 'Vessel' and asks her to accept this
spirune back into her for Lady Richea. You've (finally) obtained the red
spirune.
Just then a bunch of soldiers show up to arrest Calcedny for hurting Paraiba,
and he surrenders without question- and then faints- and not having any of
this surrender-be-a-tool-for-war-crap, Brocks carries Calcedny away. The
soldier then realizes that we kinda attacked/escaped from the garrison earlier
and orders us to remain. Like we will.

Backtrack up and examine the toilets for Apple Gels and Water Stones, and
some other materials. Return down to the SAVEPOINT and go east. From there,
shoot the white cylindar that's up with the Sorcerer's Ring-red. Waterfalls

with a Waist Charm inside. From there, go left and follow the path up until
you reach the chest at the beginning with a Blue Scarf inside.
Return to where the cylindar was and go S-SW. Here there's a chest with a
Minimum Star Key x3. Go down the path and the water should be clear so you
can pass under. If not, proceed up and hit one of the white cylindars until
the water level has lowered.

Continue going right, going up the ramp and take the first right turn you get
to. Follow this until you get to a chest with 2000 gald. Continue up to the

you take the 2nd upper-right turn, you'll see the ladder is up in the air.
Continue up and take the first right turn, follow it to the SAVEPOINT. Do not
go through the tunnel of light- pass it going right and up until you get to

Finally fresh air! Well as soon as you're out Shing will apologize to her for
not giving her back her spirune cause he was afraid about how mad she'd be at
him for breaking it. This catches Kunzite's attention-- Shing broke the
spirune, so Kunzite deems it necessary to kill Shing to protect Richea. So,
time to fight Kunzite.
   *Before the battle you'll be prompted to restructure your party so
Shing is in it.

   ----------------------------------

After the battle, Hisui wants to break Kunzite so he won't kill Shing. Kohak
stops him and mentions Richea is real, which Hisui says it's just a delusion
she and Kunzite are trapped in.
Kohak explains about her spirune and Richea (summary of Jasmine's
translation):
'Richea has a special power that's separate from mine. She asked me to stop
Despir Disease- the Zerom contamination. Her enemy was the sorceress Incarose
and if it looked like I would be caught by Incarose, I would scatter my
spirune into pieces so Richea could escape the sorceress.'
The translation is a bit unclear here, but it's apparent that Kunzite knows
Incarose (and I think killed her in the past), but she's revived now. Richea
has the power to seal away the Zerom/control them at will.
Beryl asks why Kohak kept all of this important information to herself, and
Kohak answers 'At first I couldn't really explain it well because my spiria
was scattered, but as I my spirune has sort of come back I was scared to keep
it to myself and couldn't talk about it. Now that you know the truth I wonder
how much Shing's gotten angry and despised and hated me- I got so scared, I
couldn't say anything! I'm so sorry!'
Shing tells her not to cry and that he thought the explosion of her spirune
was his fault and he felt responsible and wanted to fix it- but now he wants
to save her "with my own will".
Kunzite understands and stores the vessel's (he corrects himself and names her
Kohak) words with his other classified information. He takes what Kohak says
as fact and as the will of Richea. For Richea to be revived, Kunzite settles
on changing his targets to those who would hurt Kohak.
KUNZITE AND KOHAK REJOIN THE PARTY.
    Kunzite gains the title "Unwanted Escort".

Make your way up the hill to the main area of the world map. From here, the
fork to the west will lead you to a sign. The 'city' entrance you'll see, if
you forgot, is Estorega- which is under lockdown. You won't even be able to
enter the city in any manner.

#1 path: FROM SHALROWE
Take the SE path, continuing east until you get to a campsite.
Take the east path and then proceed going NE. At the road sign, cut NORTH and
pass through the campsite. Continue north- you're going the right way if you
start walking on sand.
#2 path: FROM YURAIO
Backtrack to the WEST. Continue going W-NW until you reach the fork with the
road sign, and proceed NORTH. Pass through the campsite and continue heading
north- you're going the right way if you start walking on sand.

The NW path leads to a dead end, so proceed going east. At the fork, the path
that continues east goes to a dead end, so go north. You'll go across a narrow
path of sand through the water before you reach the other shore. The next
screen, it'll cut to a scene.
Our passage was blocked by a tall ugly--- no by a church blockade. Kunzite
says we should just barge right through, but Innes suggests we either cut our
way through a desert, or take a coastal route all the way around the entire
continent, which might take forever. Beryl really doesn't want to cross the
desert, and upon Shing deciding that's the way we go, Beryl replies "I'm 99%

the math is 99.9%'.

   ---------------------------------
Proceed north into the desert. Going east will take you to a dead end, with
nothing of interest that way. Head west to get to the real area: Wasteland of
Death.
Just then a giant boxy sand worm will appear.
HISUI, INNES, BERYL, KUNZITE LEAVE THE PARTY.

Shing and Kohak are caught in a sandstorm. Shing mentions that they have to
head north to get to the oasis, when the storm gets worse and he loses sight
of Kohak.
KOHAK LEAVES THE PARTY.

Shing is lost the storm and is unable to move. He hears Kohak's voice and a
light from his spiria shoots forth in Kohak's direction.

Going to the east and up will lead to a Heal Stone. Basically, head to the
west going up and down the paths. Utilize the map, as your goal is to head to
the NW. There's also another Heal Stone in the SW here. I opted to avoid the
monsters because it's harder to escape from battles when you're the only one
on the field.
When you get to the next screen, another scene will happen. Our light takes us
directly to Kohak.
KOHAK JOINS THE PARTY.
Right next to you is a SAVEPOINT. There's a weird door on the ground, but you
can't go into now, so proceed north.

The scene cuts to Hisui and Kunzite.
Basically, Hisui is pissed that he's all alone, and argues with Kunzite that
he's just a mechanical jerk- which Kunzite says he's proud to be, and is proud
to be serving Lady Richea. Hisui states that if Richea is real, then she
tricked his sister, and he'll hurt her. Kunzite goes WARNING If those words
reflect action, he'll have to kill Hisui. Before they can argue, or fight like
Hisui wants, Kunzite declares that it's important to get to the meeting point
to assess if Kohak is unharmed.
You'll be directly in front of a SAVEPOINT.

The area you're in has several sinkholes of quicksand, so be careful. They
don't seem to do anything besides slow you down though. Heading N will take
you to a Heal Stone. Make your way toward the West to a chest with Water
Stone x3. Then proceed west. If you run into a sinkhole with a monster inside
it, you will be forced to battle. The next chest to the west has Rosemary,
which raises Magic Attack. The path will split, going West or North. The west
path will take you to the same map as the northern path, taking you down the
plot- path. For a chest, go around to the north path. As soon as you get up
the ramp going west, proceed west to the chest for Dark Stone x3. There's
also another Heal Stone to the north of you. Backtrack to the west path.
From here, make your way west and go under the hole in the stone. At the first
chance to go south, take it to get to a chest with Cactus Tree Leaf x2.
Continue going west to loop north. When you can head east, take the ramp down
one level and go north under the hole. Watch out for the worm grabbing you in
the sandpits into a battle. You'll be able to escape if you get caught and
don't want to battle. Proceed your way north to the next screen, here's a
scene.
Hisui is tired of walking around through the desert and complains that Kunzite
should be the one tired from all of the sand getting into his gears. They hear
the sandworm and hurry to help Kohak.

The scene switches to Beryl and Innes. Beryl complains that they'll never get
out of the desert, and if she dies she'll haunt Innes. Innes comments that if
Beryl dies, she's taking her soma. Stubborn enough not to let that happen, the
duo continue on. Make your way north to the SAVEPOINT.
Here you'll have to make use of the Sorcerer's Ring-fire to burn away the
cactuses. If you get hit, you'll get hurt and they block your path. Proceed
up the ramp going west to the chest for an Orange Scarf. Continuing on the
same level as the SAVEPOINT, going north will take you to a Heal Stone. Take
the path up the ramps, continuing up levels to the west and looping to the
north. Burn cactuses as you go. Head to the NW to the next screen.
Go north, clinging to the eastern wall. To the east is a Heal Stone. Go west
to proceed. You'll be able to loop around the ramps south to continue west.
Again, Beryl complains about the desert and Innes asks if she's going to die.
They hear the cry of the sandworm and hurry on.

The scene switches back to Shing and Kohak.
Kohak reveals why she started her journey with Hisui in the first place. It
turns out that Richea has been hiding in people's spirunes for hundreds of
years- including Kohak's mother. Richea has been with Kohak since she was born
and once Kohak became aware of her, she learned that Richea's power to seal
the zerom is at it's limit. Richea's hiding from Incarose, who'd use her power
(for evil, I assume), so Richea wants to stay hidden. Kohak had promised to
take Richea to her real body that's sleeping somewhere in the world- and for
that, Kohak and Hisui left their home. (Oh and Hisui still doesn't believe in
Richea.) Shing promises to help Kohak, and they'll figure this out together.
Shing see's the moon and finds their navigation to the north with it. After
the scene is over, the two of them earn the title "Linker".
Finally out of the sandstorm and the worm appears. Oh, look, it's the nest,
and Kohak's spirune is there.

When he wakes up, Shing is alone. Kunzite and Kohak appear. And Hisui from
under Shing. Then the girls appear. All reunited and the group is ready to
fight the worm, of course.
EVERYONE REJOINS THE PARTY.

Just above you is a SAVEPOINT.
Make up your party and then proceed to fight the worm.

After the battle, I got a lot of prompts about Hisui-Shing, Shing-Hisui and

cries cause she's relieved everyone's okay, and then Shing starts crying out
of joy, which confuses the heck out of Kunzite. Everyone is now connected via
a Soma Link Up.
Honestly, at this moment, I have no idea how the Soma Link Up works... You can
see it's grid at the status page of the character. Click to view a character's
status image from the menu, then click the new option via X and you'll see
green and gold lines depending on who you use the most via the short cut panel
in battle. I use Beryl and Hisui a lot, so Hisui is full gold and Beryl's
green and gold. Kunzite and Kohak both have a green stripe to them, and since
I never use Innes, she has no connection to her at all. I'm not sure, but I
think based on how you use them, they'll learn special stats and stuff in the
soma builds.

There's nothing left to explore, so continue NW to the Oasis.

Exhausted, Kohak falls asleep. Beryl states that the story of Richea would
make for a cute book. Hisui says it's still just a monster clinging to spiria
and is gross, which Kunzite recognizes as insults and orders Hisui to take it
back- which Hisui orders Richea pay for rent for being in Kohak's spirune...
He really can argue over the dumbest stuff. Shing mentions that Kohak thinks
of Richea as a special friend, and then a green light appears- apparently the
original function of spirias were to link to each other- which Hisui doesn't
want Shing linking with Kohak. Shing explains it just happened on its own.
{You should watch the skit that appears after this, of Hisui and Shing arguing
and talking about Links. There's another where Shing tries to explain the
dokidoki-heart beat to Kunzite. Watching them seems to do something for the
Soma Link Ups.}

You can exit the Oasis to the south and re-enter, examine the water and pick
the second option for a short scene. Kohak, Innes and Beryls Soma Link Up will
increase.

*If you want to backtrack now, go back into the desert and take the center
path to go SE.
Shalrowe, arrive in the city, then take the second boat. Proceed up to the
mansion and talk to Alec to enter his maze. His maze is 3 levels deep.
       REWARD: Swordfish's Fin x3

** Backtrack around Oldmine faster: enter Shalrowe and when you exit pick the
first option to be placed on the Overworld. You can save on this map and very
freely traverse the continent. You will not be able to enter the desert on
this map and must return to a town or dungeon, pick the second option, and go
by foot up through the desert to the Oasis again.

*!! If you ever want to see who you've cleared for Spirias, go to the Menu,
click the green and yellow infinity symbol next to the row of books. The first
menu that pops up is the name of towns/locations, and the numbers next to them
are the number of NPCs you've cleared. For example, go to the third one down
Shalrowe, and it should have 3. Click that, and you'll see the names of each
NPCs with little stars next to them (I assume the stars appear if you've
cleared them). The numbers next to them, I'm not sure what they mean... For
example Alec has 15 next to his name, but the girl beneath has 25.

END OPTIONAL..................................................................

Exit out to the NW to enter the desert, again. *huffs* Make your way NW to
enter the next camppoint. You'll be pressed to continue NW by Innes, so go!

*SOMALINK - The skills you learn can only be learned through the somalink, so
it's important to have a high effection with everyone. Using people in your
main party, and having them on the shortcut menu will help. The options given
to you in skits will help with the affection and how characters relate to each
other. At this point, I've mostly just been given EG +1 abilities for the
characters to buy.
From RyuHiroshi's guide, he made note that the Soma Links are not just pure
affection, but are for the Skills- Combination Artes and Beryl's Crazy Comet
extension.
The affection values will increase as you play the game, and you can see them
on the Status menu of each character. The values read as:
  1000: Very small green line
  2000: Small green line
  3000: Medium green line
  4000: Broad green line
  5000: Very broad green line
  6000: Very small orange line
  7000: Small orange line
  8000: Medium orange line
  9000: Broad orange line
 10000: Very broad orange line
He did confirm that the somalink is the game's affection system, but unlike
Symphonia- where you can't see the values directly- you can in this game. But
if you've played Innocence, which showed the values exactly, then this is a
more vague rendition.

there'll be a short scene.

Kohak asks if it'd stop the war if the connection between Richea and the Zerom
is revealed- to which Kunzite replies that it would only cause a war over
her again. Proceed forward to enter a cave.

While in here, try not to run away from enemies- there's a Count Batcula in
here that you need to fight. It'll drop a Fang that you need to proceed.
There's a SAVEPOINT right in front of you as soon as you enter.
The shiny dust clouds can hold items for you, or traps. They'll take you down
one level.
I fell down one level and came up a ramp to a chest with a green leaf of Sedzu
which does something to HP 10. As you proceed left, go down what looks like a
dead-end to go down a level; follow the loop up around and take the north fork
to a chest with 2300 gald. Continue heading left and south to another chest
with Peach Gel x3.
Return back up to the first level with the SAVEPOINT, and continue making your
way left/north. Follow the right paths up to a dead-end with a chest of Gold
Scale x3, after passing a HEALSTONE.
Proceed left, and on the next screen, make your way north and down to the
next level. Loop around to the right to a chest with a bracelet. Make your way
around north to a chest with Lavendar. Then return up a level and go left to
a SAVEPOINT.
North of you is the blockade, and to the left is a shine dust that'll give you
some metal before dropping you down. After you examine the blockade, the Count
Batcula monsters will start appearing in the battles. The blockade will also
tell you how many Fangs you have at the 0/3. After you kill a bat, the game
will tell you when you get a dropped Fang, and how many to go.
Once you get enough Fangs (some might be needed for your Soma skills), SAVE
and examine the blockade. Pick the top option to hand over the fangs and see
it drop down.
On this next screen, continue to the north/right until you reach another
blockade. Hand over some Fangs and open the chests for some metal and a blue
belt acc.
Exit by going to the far left and up through the light.

As you proceed north, a scene will cut you off. A little girl is being
attacked by an Imperial Soldier. Shing will interfere and you'll get to fight
three of the soliders at once.
The caravan group tells the group they have to proceed to Pransule to deliver
a medicine to some sick patients. Shing agrees to escort them in case more
soldiers attack.
{The desert and cave are now available as the Field.}

Once inside, you'll see there's strict security. The caravan agrees to employ
us so we can pass through without issue. Kunzite is the only one who'll stand
out, so they decide to hide him in the box (!) with the cold medicine.
Apparently, Kunzite doesn't bother frostbite.
The guards will want to inspect the box (Kunzite is in), so Innes goes on and
on about a sob story of her sick kid in the clinic. The buy it, and let us
through.
After Kunzite is out of the box, we proceed in. Up above Calcedny says he's
surprised we came this far. Peridot and Brocks advice him to capture Shing
and his group, to which he refuses. It'd make things for Lady Paraiba. Even so
they plan to ambush Shing later.

Now that you're finally free, make your back back and up the ramp. Continue
up and outside. Make your way across the top bridge for a small scene, and go
to the right to the chest with some... Salt in it. There's nothing else out
here, so return inside to the SAVEPOINT.

go to the 2nd floor. Examine the sink on the right for Water Stone x3. Examine

Some kids will throw balls at Beryl. Beryl is captured long enouhg for Peridot
to challenge Shing to a duel in the Catherdal, if he loses then the secret of
the spirunes must be revealed publically- that Kunzite protests. Shing accepts
the duel anyway.
Examine the upper shelves with a blue picture of flowers for some Bee Honey.
Exit out the door and enter the door on the right. Once inside, examine the
shelves under the red-head to the left for some salt.
Outside, the crates left of the lower building have Peach Gel x3. Head down to
the far SE, examine the tree at the edge for some twigs.

When you're ready, proceed West from the INN to return to the New Moon shore

There's some cyan horses and brown-haired swordsmen in here that are weak to
Dark, so Beryl and Kunzite are good to either have in your party or on the
short cut panels.
Upon entering, you'll be unable to go East, so take the West door. The south
door here will just take you to a dead end, so continue West.
Take the gold elevator up and go to the right, hitting the switch to open the
grate over the ramp. The lower-left elevator will take you down a level to a
chest with Peach Gel x3. Take the upper-left elevator, make your way left to
the switch and open this ramp. The upper-right elevator will take you up a
level where you can flip the switch to open this ramp's grate. Go back down
the ramp and make your way to the left, taking up the elevator. Enter the
door here.
Take the east door, cross the short bridge and flip the switch to open the
floor. There should be a solider here who'll drop a Mystic Cobalt Whale.
Proceed around to the east, looping around to the lower door. The middle-right
door here takes you to a small armory with nothing in there. At this new area,
take the elevator down, going down the ramp and then up the first elevator.
Continue going up north to the chest with Light Stone x6. Make your way down
to the west toward the Heal Stone and chest with a Spider Board x1. Go up and
take the lowest-left elevator down, go right-south to the elevator to a chest
with a bandana inside. Backtrack to the elevator, don't go up, and instead
proceed down through the door. Destroy the crates at the West door with the
Sorcerer's Ring-blue. The door takes you back to the entrance.
Taking the north door in this small hall will take you to the library.

**If you read everything at the earlier library, in one of the stacks on the
West side of the library you'll find a History book. In the same room is a
chest Belbene x1.
Take the first east door to enter a study of the library with a green thing on
the large table in the center. Examine it to receive a Mystic Emerald Whale.
The door to the north down the hall will take you to the SAVEPOINT, a large
glass dome on the floor and an Organ in the north. You don't have everything
for it, so ignore it for now.
Backtrack going south out of here, through the library and go East. Back in
the elevator room, take the upper-most elevator. When it stops, click to
go up and at this next level, go through the door. Destory the crates and go
through the door. You'll run into another soldier. He'll drop Salt x3. Head
west across the bridge to the chest with a Light Foot x1. Then go up to run
into another soldier. He'll drop a Mystic Crimson Whale. Enter the west door,
going to the chest for Salt x2. You can flip the switch to remove the grate
before proceeding on.
Backtrack to the Organ's room. Take the left elevator up, and enter west door.
Enter the middle-north door to the bedroom and open the chest for a Mystic
Citron Whale.

**For a hint on how to solve the Organ puzzle, take the right elevator by it
and examine the glass dome up there. Light will shoot down to reveal the
solution on the bottom floor. (This is why you open the floor up previously.)

Return to the Organ, and then examine the instrument. Pick the 2nd
option. Enter the selections in this order: 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 1st, (yes) 1st.
The pipes on the highest floor will lower for you.
Take the right elevator up to the top floor, and then go through the north
door.
Proceed north to a SAVEPOINT.
Go west to a chest with a Light Lump x2. (Hisui should be able to learn Nurse
with that now.)
SAVE and the go through the north door for a scene.

A little bit of puffing up their chests before the fight and then the battle
begins.

group should go down quickly.

Upon defeat, Calcedny will agree to hand over the spirune. When he pulls it
out Brocks takes it and gives it to Arkham. And.. then the floor opens.
The group wakes up on mossy ruins, thanking Shing for using an arte to break
their fall. Shing shows concern about Calcedny being scared to see his father,
which he's hit by Beryl and Hisui.

Now that you can move, shoot the silver orb with Sorcerer's Stone-red. Take
the north path, going up the ladder. The chest up here has a gold scale x3,
and the chest below has silver x4. Return to the broken gate and shoot it with
Sorcerer's Ring-blue. Then shoot the orb with Sorcerer's Ring-red. Go up the
ladder and hit the broken door with Sorcerer's Ring-blue, then enter the door
to return to the Cathedral.
Go up the spiral stairs, finding yourself back at the top level. SAVE and then
go back up to the door. Calcedny and his father are inside arguing; Arkham
planning to ambush Shing's group.
Enter the door for another scene. Apparently, Arkham has been searching for
not just Kohak, but her mother, too, all for Richea's power. Innes informs him
that the military is using Zerom-infused soliders to act, which Arkham points
out that he'll need Richea's power. A knight interrupts saying that the
military is already upon us. Calcedny puts Arkham at swordpoint and orders
Brocks to return the spirune, and then suggests that we escape. Before he
leaves, Cal mentions that he hopes Kohak will be okay.
The group briefly analyzes the situation, predicting that a traitor might open
the gates to the city, turning it into a battleground. Worried that that might
happen, Kohak protests and urges us to stop it. You obtain the citron spirune
before the end and Shing says, let's head for the southern gate. There's
nothing else in this room, besides an interesting portrait in the far back.
Go south out to the SAVEPOINT, and proceed south. Take the elevator down, go
south past the SAVEPOINT, south again and take the west door in the hall.

Exit the Cathedral, heading SE back toward the INN. SAVE and then attempt to
leave the city to the south.
Grossular accuses Arkham of being the suspect of planning to assassinate Lady
Paraiba. Calcedny offers to be taken to her so he can explain what happened,
which makes the discussion go worse. In the name of Her Majesty, Grossular
declares war on the holy city and the church.
You'll run into the man who runs away, follow him into the east door.
As Calcedny tries to stop the zerom soliders, Shing and his group hurry to
help him. The group agrees to work together.

SAVE and then make your way through town, fighting monsters as you go. From
the INN go NE toward the orphanage. The brats from earlier are missing, so we
have to go find them.
From the orphanage, head East to run into some children being attacked. Then
go West toward the Cathedral, stop at the clinic to the north first. Check
inside to tell the people to go to the orphanage for safety. Found Nell, but
Spin is still missing. Exit the clinic and go down to the beach. Spin mentions
that if you pray for something, wishing really hard, for 1000 days, the Great
Winged Whale, the servant of the goddess in the forest of thorns, will grant
it true.
After, Kunzite seems confused. He says there's *no* whale or goddess to hear
prayers of people. Kohak babbles something about the forest of thorns and if
what he says is true or not, which Kunzite seems surprised at. But the scene
ends there.

Return back up and a scene will prompt you to the Cathedral. Arkham is shocked
that his Crystal Knights are losing to the zerom soliders and asks if they're
using Richea's power somehow. Arkham insists that he's surrendering and that
Cal is locked up in the Cathedral. The zerom soliders down by Shing's group
pass them to the clinic. Kohak screams at them to stop, turning one to stone;
Kunzite says he's been calcified*.
The same thing happened to the other soldiers that went inside.
Go back to the orphanage to tell Cal about his being surrendered to the
military. Calcedny accepts his fate and will go to surrender. He suggests that
Brocks and Peridot escape with Shing, both who protest and go with him. Amused
Calcedny points out that his group has idiots in it, just like Shing's, and
asks him to protect Paraiba's country from the zerom and Despir sickness.

Before leaving, Beryl asks what happened to the zerom soliders. Kunzite
explains that it's the last stage of despir sickness. When all of your spiria
is eaten away by zerom, you turn into a statue like that. The sickness will
spread without the Crystal Knights who were going in and defeating zerom for
people and curing it. Eventually the whole world will be just statues.
Kohak points out that this isn't the end. The zerom are returning because
Richea's spiria, inside Kohak, is weakening. If she can be returned to her
actual body that's sleeping in the Forest of Thorns, she'll be resurrected,
and seal away the zerom. Before anything else can be revealed by Kohak,
Kunzite cuts her off- that the location of the Forest of Thorns and what not
is top-secret information. Kohak says that if they can just recover the
spirunes that are left, Richea herself can guide them to the Forest. Her light
beacon shoots off to the left, going toward the SW Sea.

From the Orphanage, there's a SAVEPOINT right outside the gate, go to the E.
!!!!!WARNING: Before you do, you'll be unable to re-enter the city!!! So buy
anything you think you may need before you go E of the Orphanage.
Spin stops you from continuing on, saying that the gates have been closed off.
Time to climb a tree, Beryl complains and Kunzite orders her not to waste
time. Spin agrees to help our escape, a route that Peridot found.
**The kids sing a song prayer to distract the guards.
Deep within  the forest of thorns
The goddess  dreams
Of white sorrow  and black sin
The winged whale  flying to the sea of stars
Hear our song  in your place in the moon
And deliver  to the goddess' dream
**
It's apparently a church song, which is forbidden. The soldiers argue a bit,
and then agree that it's okay that they sing their prayers.
**And now  we unify our Spiria
And build  a world without war
And now  we unify our Spiria
And create  a world filled with love
**
       (Lyrics lifted from Jasmine B. Go to: 00B2.)
Spin urges us to go, while the kids and Nell sing the "unify our Spiria" lines
again.

The scene will then cut to Grossular. Incarose was the one giving him advice
on how to make the Zerom soldiers. Incarose speculates that they turned to
stone due to being complete, and points out that Grossular couldn't have
taken over the church without her help. Arkham is brought in and is hit after
he recognizes Incarose. The scene ends with Grossular concluding that the
church needs to be punished and everyone must be moved to the capital. Time to
teach the ways of the new empire.
The scene ends with Incarose mentioning the vessel has food and it's just a
few days until the full moon.

   =| WORLD MAP AREA of Marquis   |=
   ---------------------------------
You'll be unable to return to the city from this direction. There should be
a voiced cutscene that'll up the Link between Shing, Hisui and Innes.
Head to the west to proceed on with the game. When you get to the next screen,
a scene will occur. An old merchant will tell the group that all that's out
in this direction is the ocean and a harbor. (Going east will just take you to
a bridge and a snowpack.) SAVE if you like, and then continue west. At the
harbor is another scene.
We run into Garnet who's off to deliver some goods by boat since the land
trade route is blocked off from the issues with the church and military. He
says he'll take us where we want to go if we can get a good for him. Innes
will stay and point out our destination to him on a map he has in a cabin.
KOHAK AND INNES LEAVE THE PARTY.

There's nothing of interest here at the harbor. Make your way east back to the
campsite. The merchant mentions that the item we need, a wine, if shipped by
boat shakes too much and loses its flavor- thus it isn't sold. Just as they
find that odd, Shing gets a Soma Link feeling from Kohak at the harbor. She's
frightened of something, so the group rushes back.

Back at the harbor, Shing and his group hurry onto the boat to find some
imperial troops. There's a brief battle with them, but they shouldn't give you
any trouble.
Garnet turns out to have been a pawn of the military as he comes out of the
shadows with Kohak and another guard. Garnet introduces the troops with him as
"Imperial Army Special Corps Captain Geo Strigau". He also introduces Innes
as Lieutenant Innes. She was sent to confirm the power of Kohak, revive Richea
and then dominate. With Richea's power, Garent says "We'll destroy this rotten
empire, and build a new world full of powerful Spiria." Silver, Garnet's real
name, also explains that because of our doing, the church and military will be
out of the way effectively and this Special Corps can overthrow them.

Kunzite mentions, "No matter what time period, there are those who speak
thoughtless words. Are you 'them'?" To that, Incarose appears, mentioning that
she thought Kunzite had rusted and stopped working long ago.
After seeing Incarose and the troops hurting her friends, Kohak begs her to
stop and agrees to go with her. Incarose notices if the kids are kept alive,
then Kohak will listen to her, but she also wants obstacles removed and orders
Strigau to kill everyone else. Innes stops him, so Incarose asks if she's
planning to betray them. Innes says Incarose is disobeying the Commander's
orders.
Silver proposes that once Richea awakens, they release Kohak. Shing refuses
to work with people who are using zerom, and Incarose who killed his g-pa.
Silver orders Innes to kill Shing. She agrees, and Shing closes his eyes.
Hisui and Kunzite point out that they're not going down without a fight (and
will protect Lady Richea, lol Kunzite). Beryl protests that they need to run
before they're killed and casts a magic that allows them to escape. Innes says
she'll follow us and runs off. The scene ends where Silver announces where
they're going to: Nibelgum. And then after, the Forest of Thorns. Incarose
goes to follow after Innes to make sure we're dealt with.

We didn't get far, just back onto the docks. Innes says she'll give us our
last rites, Shing doesn't wanna fight, but Kunzite points out if we don't try
with all of our power we'll be killed. Innes knocks the group down easily
anyway. Shing asks if Innes really wants that purge and rebirth thing that
Silver was blabbering on about (the "build a new world of powerful Spiria").
Innes explains that Silver's life was destroyed by the empire, so he seeks
revenge and she wants to heal his spiria at any cost. Shing notes that him and
Innes are the same, they want to help the person they love but don't want to
hurt their friends in the process. Innes points out that he's stupid; she was
ordered to kill him. And yet, Shing's still alive. Shing argues that if she
really wanted him dead, he'd already be dead by now. And Hisui cuts in: "Here
he goes again. Once he gets like this we can't shut him up even if he dies."
Some more arguing, Innes being confused and is mad that he's preaching to her.
If you've played Tales of Symphonia and sat through Lloyd's declarations of a
peaceful world and future where no one has to sacrifice themselves, yeah that
is basically Shing- only he's not as long-winded (lol). Shing tells her to
deliver her true feelings to Silver. After that, Shing's soma links up to
Innes's. Tired of being smacked around, Shing falls over. While calling him an
idiot, Hisui heals him.
Incarose notes that Innes did betray them, but that it's also convenient to
have this bunch in the works. She'll be waiting of us, and disappears.
Hisui and Innes ask Innes for their soma privileges back. Kunzite notes that
even if it's against Innes's will, we must continue on to rescue Lady Richea.
INNES JOINS THE PARTY.
Innes and everyone's soma link became stronger.

Through Shing, Innes can feel Kohak's feelings of fear and is trying to be
brave. They can also tell where she is- somewhere to the south in the ocean.
They'll need a boat to navigate the dangerous waters. Stubborn, or dedicated,
Kunzite notes that even if it's suicidal he will go alone to protect Lady
Richea. We also run into the boat captain from earlier. She'll take us back to
Henzera, where we can meet up with that mob guy. He supplies the corps, so we
can get a boat and get to them.

END CHECK:
   Shing LV45     Hisui LV44     Beryl LV45
   Kunzite LV43   Kohak LV45*    Innes LV46

||__________________________________________________________________________||

   ***This is an optional dungeon/route to take and is not required.
You can start a New Game+ without clearing this 'secret' dungeon.

After the game is over, Load the Clear Data (it'll have a yellow star on it's
save file).

You'll start off back in Gardenia. Talk to the robot nearby to return to
Rapunzel.

(Note that the View Dome is unlocked now. Same with Mania and Unknown modes.
You'll also be able to get the final levels of your Soma weapons in the Evolve
menu.)

Go EAST to Namcot Island. Exit and re-enter repeatedly (says Kouli's guide) to
be able to spir-dive into Windam.

Complete his maz and then go north to the NE of the World. You'll see Hells
Well has appeared. There's 50 floors total, and you'll receive 2 Eloi upon
entering. As you proceed through the dungeon, you'll acquire up to 27 Eloi,
and at the last floor you'll fight Rishia Cattleya for a title and 1 Eloi.

When you have all 30 Eloi, return to Namcot Island to pick up some items. The
general stores and Inn will all be open now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Why were you lying there?
<Shing> By the way, what were you two doing lying there on the shore?
<Kohak> Uh, um... a Sorceress chased us through the forest and threw us
     into the ocean!
<Shing> A Sorceress? You mean there are people like that where you're
     from?
<Hisui> Actually, she didn't throw us into the ocean. Kohak just--
<Kohak> Yes! She's a dreadful, truly inhuman monster!
2. I believe you
<Hisui> Hey, sorry about earlier. You were only trying to save Kohak,
     right?
<Shing> Y-yeah! I was only trying to give her CPR and-
<Hisui> That's a confession, ya damn pervert! Kohak, this lech's
     stolen the purity of your lips!
<Kohak> I gave my word I'd believe him. You didn't have any bad
     intentions, did you?
<Shing> No! ...my heart was pounding, though...
3. "Her voice"
<Hisui> Hey, Kohak, you really believe in him?
<Kohak> ...yes, I do. And "she" says that Soma is really Zex's.
<Hisui> ...Kohak, I'm your brother. I've always been here to
     watch over you. Come on, cut out the "she says" crap!
<Kohak> It's the truth! Why don't you ever believe me?
4. Emotions are gone!
<Shing> Kohak, this is really nice weather, huh?
<Kohak> ...nice?
<Shing> Ah, um... seems like it'll be a nice trip! The scenery is
     beautiful, and...
<Hisui> What are you so happy about, moron? This is your fault!
<Shing> Oh... I didn't mean...
5. Sorceress Incarose
<Hisui> Don't look so down. Sorceress Incarose, face and purpose
     unknown... she's after Kohak, no mistake about that.
<Shing> Face-schmace. If I ever meet her, I'll get her for Gramps and
     Kohak!
<Hisui> You'll probably get killed, too. Try to get her for Kohak
     first.
6. What does it mean? -1-
<Shing> Hey, what does that thing mean Innes said, "Your small
     peanuts"?
<Hisui> Watch your mouth, moron! Don't say "peanuts" like that!
<Shing> Wow! Can I say it to you too? "Peanuts!"
<Kohak> ...what's "peanuts"?
<Hisui> Aagh! Now Kohak's saying it too because of you!
<Shing> Wow! What are "peanuts"?
7. Hisui's skills
<Shing> Hey, Hisui, have you ever hunted with a bow?
<Hisui> Yeah. My home's a mountain town, and we support ourselves. You
     know, my target record is 100%-
<Kohak> 70%.
<Shing> Seventy? That's pretty sad...
<Hisui> Want me to show you? I bet I can take you with just one shot.
8. Flooded with fear
<Shing> Hey, Kohak...
<Kohak> Eeep!
<Hisui> What the hell are you doing?
<Shing> I just said her name!
<Hisui> I don't care what you meant to do, you're scaring her. Get out of
     here.
<Shing> ...
9. Beryl's goal
<Shing> Hey, Beryl, what's this "imperil artist" thing? You're not going to get
     yourself kidnapped or something, are you?
<Beryl> You're thinking of "In Peril Artist!" Hey, you'd come to rescue me
     though, right?
<Beryl> What I want to be is the "Imperial Artist", personally hand-picked by
     the Emperor for his court!
<Beryl> Spending my days in the castle studio, having delicious snacks and
     juicy gossip...
<Beryl> Making thousands of gald for every painting... it'd be the life!
<Hisui> You know they say, if you have great dreams as a kid, you grow up to
     be all right.
<Shing> Yeah! Gramps used to tell me the same thing.
<Beryl> Hmph! Like I care about what you philistines think anyway!
10. Where the Soma came from
<Shing> Oh yeah, Beryl. Where'd you get your Soma from?
<Beryl> Hee hee. This Soma was passed down to me by my master, the greatest
     artist in the world!
<Beryl> It's totally different from the barbarous weapon Soma! This is a tool
     of culture!
<Hisui> What kinda culture is it where you beat people on the head with that
     thing?
<Beryl> Shut up! "The brush is mightier than the sword", you know!
11. Bathtime memories
<Shing> Just wait, Kohak. I swear I'll get back all the lost Spirunes!
<Kohak> ...yes.
<Beryl> Hey, wait a minute! Without even apologizing for peeping, you go
     spouting cool lines like that?
<Hisui> Yeah, you pervert! Kohak hasn't even bathed with her own brother since
     she was ten!
<Shing> I didn't see anything! ...just for a second... maybe...
<Hisui> Hold still while I beat that memory out of your skull.
<Shing> Aaagh! Hey, wait! I'm a Soma User too-aaaaaaaah!
12. Sense of taste -1-
<Kohak> *munch munch*
<Beryl> Kohak, what are you eating?
<Kohak> Cucumber... with red beans.
<Beryl> Hm? That's gotta be pretty bitter.
<Hisui> Kohak loves the stuff. She'll eat anything with this rice-miso on it.
<Kohak> *chew chew*
<Beryl> Whooooa... you're right! Now she's eating a bean banana!
<Hisui> Oh yeah. If you want to make her eat anything at all, just drown it in
     miso.
<Beryl> This is so weird...
13. I'll paint you a portrait! -1-
<Beryl> Kohak, I'm gonna paint you a portrait. Hold still, okay?
<Kohak> ...okay.
<Beryl> ...you know, now that I look closely, you're really cute... but it's
     not quite right for a truly great painting this way.
<Beryl> Kohak, can you stick your pinky into your nose and make an "eeeee"
     face?
<Kohak> ...okay.
<Hisui> What kinda weird art is this? My sister is not a toy!
<Beryl> Oww, I was just trying to bring out Kohak's cuteness...
14. Escape!
<Beryl> This stuff is heavy! A pack mule is no job for a genius artist...
<Hisui> ...let's get out of here, Beryl. Use that arte of yours!
<Innes> Hi there! What could my employees be talking about?
<Innes> By the way, the last few employees that ditched on me had
     some accidents... "splat" accidents.
<Hisui> ..."splat"?
<Innes> Some of them went "crunch". Just keep that in mind, 'kay? <3
<Beryl> ..."crunch?"
<Beryl> Give it up, Hisui. Our lives are the most utensil concern!
<Hisui> You mean "essential."
15. Innes, the adult
<Shing> Hey Innes, you're an adult, right?
<Innes> My, aren't we forward. What do you mean, "adult"?
<Shing> I figure if you're an adult, you know what the difference is
     between an adult and a child, right?
<Innes> Oh, I see. Well, I guess an adult is someone that does what's
     necessary even if it hurts.
<Innes> But before you think about that stuff, couldn't it be most
     important to be true to yourself?
<Shing> Oh, I get it! Thanks!
<Innes> Hee hee. I guess an adult is just someone who can make profound-
     sounding speeches to kids.
16. Beryl's depression
<Innes> Beryl, I'm sorry about Master Smisona...
<Beryl> It's okay. I'll turn my sadness into an amazing painting someday...
<Beryl> Even if I'm crying now, it'll make me stronger... right?
<Innes> Yeah... people and paintings, they both grow into great things
     by passing through trials of sorrow...
<Kohak> ...sorrow...?
17. The prettiest
<Innes> Shing, couldn't you want to explain calling Marin the prettiest
     girl you've ever met?
<Shing> What's to explain? Marin is the prettiest girl I've ever met.
<Shing> But the cutest I've ever met is Kohak. And the most beautiful
     is you, Innes.
<Kohak> The... the cutest?
<Innes> The most beautiful, huh? Nicely played, Shing.
<Beryl> W-what about me?
<Shing> Beryl, out of all the women I've ever met, you're...
<Shing> The one with the biggest paintbrush!
<Beryl> Oh yeah? Well you're the stupidest guy with women I've ever met!
18. Fighting
<Shing> Out of my way, Hisui! Move so I don't kill you!
<Kohak> Shing...
<Hisui> Same here, punk! Careful I don't shoot that big target on your
     back!
<Kohak> Hisui...
19. Kohak's strong!
<Shing> I was surprised, though. Kohak can really fight!
<Hisui> You don't know the half of it. Even without her Soma, she was the
     strongest thing in our hometown.
<Hisui> One time, this gigantic wild boar showed up, and Kohak drove it
     off with a single kick!
<Hisui> After that, we'd always tell the bad kids, "Kohak's gonna come and
     kick you!" It'd shut them right up-
<Kohak> Hisui, you JERK!
<Shing> Eheheh, whoa... faster than the eye can see...
20. Like a brother to him
<Shing> Hisui, I... no... Excuse me, my brother... hmm... Yo, bro...
<Kohak> ...Shing?
<Shing> Oh, I'm practicing to try and make up with Hisui.
<Shing> Maybe if I try, we can grow closer... like brothers...
<Kohak> Hisui would be Shing's brother too...?
<Hisui> Tell ya what, I'll practice too... giving out some bro-therly
     beatings!
<Shing> Oww... I get the message already...
21. Date with Beryl
<Shing> This seems like a good place to draw, huh?
<Beryl> Hmm... won't do. A picture of a quiet place like this is never gonna
     win that contest.
<Shing> Huh? A crowd full of happy pople isn't a good painting?
<Beryl> You don't get it, huh? A good painting shows a "spetacklar" theme
     like courage, or love, or triumph!
<Beryl> And this town has an arena with a history of grand spetackles going
     back over a hundred years! That's where I wanna draw!
<Shing> Oh, the arena! But uh, aren't you thinking of "spectacles"?
<Beryl> Nnnnnggh! Just don't even try to talk about art anymore, Shing!
22. Innes' secret
<Shing> Wow, Innes, sneaking through a military base... just who are you?
<Innes> Oh, I can't tell you that. A woman has to have her secrets.
<Innes> But then, I could tell you if you became "someone special" to me...
<Shing> Give me a break! I'm already taken by a girl named Kohak...
<Hisui> So that's all it takes to open your mouth?
<Innes> How about you, then? I don't go for younger men anyway.
<Hisui> Huh? Hey, stop it! I'm not that easy!
23. Deliver the letter
<Hisui> Shing, you remember where to deliver Innes' letter, right?
<Shing> Of course! To deliver the letter, we go to...
<Shing> The post office!
<Hisui> Stupid! Where are you gonna find a post office for that?
<Hisui> You deliver the letter to Garnet the Handyman at the capitol!
<Shing> Capitol... Garnet the Handyman... oh yeah!
<Hisui> Man, you'd be dead by now without us.
24. What does it mean? -2-
<Hisui> I gotta admit, Shing, it was pretty cool how you told Kornerupine
     back there.
<Shing> Right. The guy who got the "carrots with his peas", right?
<Beryl> Cut that out! You're spoiling my innocence!
<Shing> Wow, it sounded so cool when Innes said it. Hey, what does it mean?
<Hisui> So you really don't know.
<Hisui> Well, it means... I can't do it! There's no way I can explain this!
<Shing> Wow, it's that cool? Want some CARROTS with your PEAS?
<Beryl> So STOP SAYING IT ALREADY!
25. Kunzite, man of mystery
<Beryl> Um, Kunzite, you're really a robot?
<Kunzite> Affirmative. I am an automated mechanoid with an artificial Spiria
     called a "Guardian Knight".
<Hisui> Guardian Knight? Artificial Spiria?
<Kunzite> Your culture level is insufficient for comprehension. However, I
     am not required to explain in detail.
<Hisui> Whatever. I "comprehend" that you're a tin man. That's good enough for
     me.
26. Four-armed monster
<Hisui> So you can Spir Link. Those hand things of yours really are Soma, huh?
<Kunzite> Affirmative. "Vex", an experimental multipurpose Soma for use with
     an artificial Soma.
<Hisui> Makes sense. Just like some kinda four-armed monster from a story.
<Kunzite> You will find it impossible to provoke me. My Spiria is programmed to
     respond only to orders from my master.
<Hisui> A programmed Spiria? So you are a monster.
27. The voices of the shades
<Beryl> Hey, did you know? They say that in this waterway, you can hear the
     voices of the departed...
<Beryl> Yep. They say they are the voices of shades who have come up from the
     underworld to drag lost souls to their doom...
<Kunzite> My database contains records of an escaped pet serpent which lives
     in the shadows below.
<Innes> Really? Because I heard that any couple that walks under the darkness
     is guaranteed to break up.
<Hisui> You guys, that's not the kind of "shade" she meant.
28. Super huge -1-
<Hisui> By the way, Innes' is gigantic! Wouldn't it get in a woman's way?
<Shing> Oh man, yeah! I got to feel it once. It's really heavy!
<Innes> Big and heavy, but that's all it's good for. Shall I show you?
<Shing> Yeah, yeah! Put your body into it!
<Kunzite> It is likely at the maximum size for daily conditions. It is also
     the largest recorded in my database.
<Beryl> I thought I had a big one, but I can't compare to Innes. Hers is
     suuuuuper huge!
<Kohak> Innes' Soma...
29. Stop Linking!
<Hisui> Shing, are you still Linked to Kohak?
<Shing> Yeah, we're still connected! Check it out!
<Hisui> I can't take this anymore! Break that link right now! Or gimme your
     Soma!
<Shing> No way! This Soma is my memento of my gramps! Switch with Kohak!
<Hisui> Idiot! If I do that, I'll just link with you!
<Innes> Hee hee, nice to see you two getting along. Try linking your own Soma!
30. Kohak's smile
<Shing> We got back Kohak's happiness... now I can see her smile again!
<Kunzite> Kohak's smile?
<Shing> Yeah, I haven't seen it since the day we met... but it made my heart
     leap back then.
<Kunzite> Your heart lept? I do not understand. This emotion is not compatible
     with my artificial Spiria.
<Shing> I had never felt it either, until I met her...
<Shing> But seriously, you're missing out if you can't feel this...
31. Secret functions
<Hisui> Kunzite, is your magic sensor broken?
<Kunzite> Affirmative. It was destroyed in combat with Incarose 170 years ago.
     Repair is impossible.
<Kunzite> However, other sensors are operational. I am able to collect body
     composition data. Demonstrating on Innes:
<Kunzite> Chest: 2.6 wass. Waist: 1.72 wass. Hips: 2.52 wass.
<Hisui> Wow, I want one of those! But... what's a wass?
<Kunzite> It is a measurement used on Quartzia. The equatorial radius of
     Celland in wass is:
<Kunzite> 18,223,285.75 wass. You may perform the conversion yourself.
<Hisui> Um... so the equator is... urrrggh!
32. Trap in the Cathedral
<Hisui> "A fair duel," my rear! Yeah, he put his heart into it -
     into a freakin' trap!
<Shing> We've got to settle this with Chalcedny one way or another. Here and
     now.
<Kunzite> Then we must break in with force.
<Shing> Right, that's what I was thinking. Let's go!
<Beryl> Ugh! I saw this coming, but do we have to DO it?
33. Unified front
<Kohak> I'm worried about the orphans. Let's hurry back to the school area!
<Chalcedny> The girl... Kohak is like a totally different person from when we
     first met.
<Shing> Yeah! It's because we collected all those lost Spirunes.
<Chalcedny> But you haven't changed at all, huh?
<Hisui> Don't get him wrong, Chalcedny. He's been working hard at getting
     dumber.
34. Finishing up
<Innes> Here it is. The last Spirune's ahead.
<Shing> ...yeah. Innes, thanks for everything.
<Innes> Wh-what's that all of a sudden?
<Shing> We dragged you away from your job and into our own mess.
<Shing> You came all this way with us because you were worried about us. So,
     even though it's late... thank you.
<Hisui> Yeah, and I would have had to put up with this idiot all by myself.
<Hisui> Thanks, Innes. Help us out a bit longer, will you?
<Innes> Cut it out, you two. You've still got a contract to finish.
35. 10 billion gald debt
<Shing> Innes, where's that hidden ten billion gald of yours?
<Innes> Oh? That was an obvious lie, wasn't it?
<Shing> What, really? Aww... we tricked Mr. Chen, huh...
<Innes> He wasn't fooled. That man knows what "a hidden stash" really means.
<Shing> Then why did he...
<Innes> Because Chen Ta-ren is gambling on your Spiria. Buck up, Shing.
<Innes> The world's top businessman values your feelings over ten billion
     gald.
36. Find Kohak!
<Shing> Where are you, Kohak? If they do anything to you...
<Innes> Calm down, Shing! Now is the time to believe in her Spiria!
<Innes> This is my fault. Kohak put her trust in me, and...
<Innes> I promise. I will do everything in my power to repay her trust.
<Shing> ...yeah. Me too, then. Wait for us, Kohak!
37. Kunzite's smile
<Kohak> Kunzite, thank you for standing up for me in there.
<Kunzite> No problem. I am programmed to hold my master's safety as top
     priority.
<Beryl> Kunzite, when you say that, try grinning, like, "No problem!"
<Kunzite> Understood. A grin is this expression, correct?
<Kunzite> No... problem.
<Beryl> No, there are so many problems with that smile.
