Welcome to another FAQ of mine. This one covers the Nintendo DS game known as
Sudoku Mania. Sudoku Mania is a game based off the relatively popular numbers
game known as sudoku, a game in which you fill in a grid with numbers such
that there are no repetitions in the rows, columns, or within 3x3 boxes. And
it's harder than that sounds!

Playing the Game
----------------

Single Player Mode:
```````````````````

Begin by choosing "New Game". Here, you will then choose the level of
difficulty (easy, normal, hard), complexity (2x2 or 3x3), mode (one- or two-
player), theme (background graphics and symbol choice), then you can play.

In sudoku, here, you can have a 2x2 or a 3x3 format. A 2x2 format consists
of sixteen squares, subdivided into four 2x2 squares. The traditional 3x3 style
has 81 squares, subdivided into nine 3x3 squares. Each puzzle is randomized
beyond the chosen extents prior to starting the game, but the goals are the
same.

You want every square to be filled in with numbers or symbols, and all of these
numbers or symbols to meet the following conditions:

- In each column, each number/symbol is different. For example, you can only
  have each of the numbers one through nine in a single vertical column - if
  there are any repetitions, it is WRONG.

- The same applies to each row.

- The same applies to each subdivided box, which is either 2x2 or 3x3.

It'll mostly then become a trial-and-error type of the deal. A good procedure,
when starting, is to first examine each row, column, then box for empty
squares. Then, from there, examine the other numbers in that row, column, and
box for that empty square and see if, for sure, any number will fit there. It
can be a rather lengthy procedure, but it works. Once you get a definite
number, you can then just try filling out the remainder of that number's row,
box, or column. Again, lengthy, but guaranteed to work.

If you place a number wrongly, it will be marked in red, along with the numbers
that will conflict with it. So, yes, you are allowed to "cheat" by seeing if
one works, but is that really the point of the game? You can also get hints
by pressing the X Button, so you know.

Beyond that, it's just solving the puzzle. Your high score is based primarily
upon the time it takes you to finish the puzzle, which is found on the Touch
Screen.


Two-Player Mode:
````````````````

This is selected similarly to the one-player mode, but, when you choose your
mode, opt for "2UP".

Here, you'll pass the DS around in turns. These turns last sixty seconds. In
that time, you need to place as many correct numbers in a sudoku puzzle as
possible. This all abides by the rules described above in the one-player mode.
At the end of the game, the winner is determined by whoever laid down more
correct numbers.
