Q: Is there an english version of this game?
A: No. There's an english version of Princess Maker 2
available over the internet. But it was never
officially released.
Q: How come Patricia hasn't changed her appearance yet?
A: Patricia will change on April 1st of 1443 and 1446.
Q: When does the game end?
A: On April 1st 1448.
Q: How do I keep from being broke all the time?
A: Make her work and don't spend your money all
over the place immediately. Set your priorities
and you'll generally end up with way too much
money in the end.
Q: How do I unlock the scenarios?
A: A Day Without Cube is unlocked after you've finished the game once.
Summer Resort Vacation once you have obtained all vacation pictures.
Father's Bride once you have obtained the Marrying Father ending.
Some say you need to finish the game twice or thrice for the last
two scenarios, but I know for sure that the last must be obtained
with the Marrying Father ending.

00.02 Questions about the Parameters
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: Where are 'Demon Points'?
A: Demon Points are an invisible parameter, just like
the Trust parameter she has for various characters.
Q: What are Demon Points?
A: They influence how much of demonic power has awakened
inside Patricia. If you never have her enter the Demon World
you'll never learn much about it, so you don't need to worry
for endings that require low Demon Points.
Q: Can I prevent increasing Demon Points?
A: Yes, if you witness two scenes with Lee in the Demon World,
he'll give Patricia the Dress Of Dragons. When wearing it,
her Demon Points will not increase if she goes to the Demon World.
Q: How do I influence her starting parameters?
A: By entering her birthday within a specific range.
Check the birthday section to see the dates and parameters.

00.03 Questions about Events

Q: How many events must I see with the princes?
A: The more the better, so make sure you know
where to go to witness them and that you have
time to go there.
Q: Are Events important?
A: Yes. Witnessing events with the princes and girls
will increase Patricia's Trust by 10 points for
every event you see.
Q: How do I witness a certain event?
A: Check the below section on where to go and
to see if there are any preset requirements.
Q: Can I unlock all the ball pictures at once?
A: Yes. Just save the beginning of January 1448 and,
when having the choice, have Patricia wear the Dress,
the Silk/Luxurious Dress and then one of the special dresses.
Just re-load after the month is over, the pictures are saved
automatically.
Q: Can I witness more than one event with a person?
A: No, if you met them once in the month before,
you can't unlock another event until the next month.
Q: How come I can't see anymore events?
A: If you witnessed all events for that person in that year,
they will stop around October or November. April onwards
you can see events again.
Q: How come I can't see new events with Lee?
A: If Patricia's Trust with Lee is over a certain amount of points,
his later events won't trigger but you'll obtain his ending anyway.

00.04 Questions about Endings

Q: How do I get a certain ending?
A: Aim for the required parameters and make
sure you take care of small notes on the side.
Q: How do I get the Marrying Father ending?
A: Get her parameters up, take a lot of vacations
and avoid meeting the princes or the girls too often.
Keep her Pride and Moral below 300 points.
Q: Which is the hardest ending to get?
A: True Heroine.
Q: Which is the easiest ending to get?
A: Probably the Freelancer.
Q: Which ending should be my priority?
A: True Heroine. Since it's a pretty hard ending to
get, especially the first time around, aim for the
marriage endings - especially Princess.
Q: Does it matter which epilogue I get for endings?
A: No. The pictures from the epilogues aren't added to the Album,
they're just there as a little extra.

01.01 Various Versions
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Princess Maker 4 Best Hit - Playstation 2
The first version, often referred to as the original, was brought
out in September 2005. It featured full voice-acting, but had the
disadvantage of being stuck in japan due to regional codes unless
you had a japanese or modded Playstation 2 in your possession.
Later versions had various events and endings added, making this
version rather out-of-date to most players.
Princess Maker 4 - PC
Like the other Princess Maker games, Princess Maker 4 was brought
out in July 2006 for the Computer and is available in japanese
and korean. A fan-made patch was made for the japanese version to
translate menu options, parameters and town locations. This version
had new events and endings added, among them the True Heroine ending
which is the canon ending, as well as the scenario A Day Without Cube.
Still containing full voices, the PC version is rather hard to find
and, if you would find it, will cost you quite a bunch.
Princess Maker 4 Portable
Joy for the western fans as Princess Maker 4 was brought out for
the region-free Playstation Portable in October 2006. Full voices,
the scenario A Day Without Cube and the new events and endings,
this version is definitely one you will want to possess. This version
held the Album where you could view all the collected pictures.
Princess Maker 4 DS Special Edition
Released in September 2008, the Nintendo DS version was also
a lucky strike for western fans. Containing the new events and
endings, this version also became stylus-orientated and featured
the possibility of touching the daughter. While this version also
has two more scenarios, it suffered in the voice-acting department
and is now without most of the voices, except the daughter's.

Stylus - the main tool, tap to control the entire game or hold down
at the castle or town to see who you'll be talking to or
which location you are heading for.
B Button - used to display entire speech in speech box.
X Button - used to skip over dialogue, schedule items and others.
Y Button - used to make the speech box in the top screen disappear.
L Button - used to have the displayed information in the top box
change by one line. Can also be done by tapping the box.
R Button - used to have the displayed information in the top box
change by one line. Can also be done by tapping the box.

01.03 Prologue
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This kingdom was close to the Demon World. Recently, it gained knowledge
of magic through Sage Stones and realized that they became more powerful.
Then, 10 years ago, when greedy explorers ventured deep into the forest
of the demon world and mocked demons, they angered The Maou and he set
out with his army to infiltrate the kingdom.
Isabelle, a young and brave warrior, fought The Maou and finally had
a suggestion to make - she would come with the demons, if they left
peacefully. The Maou agreed and so the demons returned back to their
own world and took Isabelle with them.
Thinking that she was kidnapped, the King promised wealth and fame to
the man who brought Isabelle back. Among a group of warriors, setting
out to find Isabelle, was you. You were a companion of Isabelle's.
In the Demon World, the warriors got attacked and, one by one, killed
by demons. You, the last one left, got tired and rested at a spring.
There, you saw Isabelle with a young demon boy and a little girl.
Thinking that you were hallucinating because Isabelle looked exactly
the way you remembered her, you noticed the boy.
Isabelle declined your offer to return to the human world with you
and, instead, entrusted you with the little girl with a plea:
"Please, take this child, raise her and think of her as of me.
So she can live happily as a human."
When you awoke, you were outside the kingdom and holding the hand
of the little girl, who smiled shyly at you. Returning, you asked for
a house to live in with your new daughter and began your fatherhood.

02.01 Main Characters
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sir Halliwell
Officially, this is your name.
You are a warrior who was fighting alongside Isabelle. When you saw
her in the demon forest, she gave you her daughter who you are
raising as your own child.
Patricia Halliwell
Officially, this is her name.
Daughter of Isabelle and The Maou, although Patricia has lived with
you for so long that she thinks you are her real father. Sweet and
optimistic, Patricia can fool you as, deep down, she's actually
quite sad that she doesn't know her mother, whom she believes dead.
Cube
The young demon boy who was with Isabelle when she appeared in front
of you at the spring. He lives with you and Patricia, explaining
a few things to you and helping you raise Patricia, dressing her
according to the weather and managing your yearly salary.
Isabelle
The brave woman who fought The Maou.
After sustaining a critical injury and her suggestion made,
she fell unconscious for three days and nights. When taken to the
Demon World, she was given several transfusions of Demon Blood
that have rendered her to not count as a human anymore. The Sage Stones
of the kingdoms are what prevent her from returning.
The Maou
The title given to the leader of the demon world.
Patricia's real father. While he might seem coldhearted and
distant, he cares a lot for his people and wishes for peace between
demons and humans.

02.02. Princes
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sharul
Translated into Charles in english.
First met when he tries to visit you, he will introduce himself
as part of the knight's team during the second meeting. Sharul
often roams around town and finds the everyday life in town
fascinating. Sharul is the prince of the kingdom.
Lee
Lee is happy and carefree, wandering around town to see
what's going on and looking for things that interest him.
Lee will tell Patricia early on that he is actually a draon,
although she thinks he's joking - he is the prince of dragons.
Baora
The prince of demons, despite being no blood relation to The Maou.
As Patricia is the actual heir, but lives in the human world,
Baora was chosen as the next in line. Barely showing any emotions.
Baora can be found quite often in the human world as he finally
admits that he hates life in the demon castle.

Lise Tolbas
Lise is a young girl with a great sense of responsibility who
wishes to become a great warrior, just like her father. She
vows revenge when her father gets killed by demons, which
hints at the second war between humans and demons.
Lise dislikes Christina. Her birthday is in the fourth month.
Christina Ohara Nosari
Daughter of a very rich and famous family of the kingdom.
Christina is spoiled and gets angry when things don't go the way
she wants them to, but she cares a lot for Patricia.
Christina dislikes Lise. Her birthday is in the seventh month.
Marie Strahlman
Marie is a rather shy and sensitive girl. She works at her
father's shop and can prove to be quite assertive and even
stubborn when it comes to business.
Her birthday is in the first month.
Karen
Karen has a broken speech and seems quite a daydreamer,
talking to things that don't really exist but she always calls
them her friends. She's in love with anything magical.

Chris
Heir of an extremely rich family in the kingdom, he believes
that everything can be bought with money. He loves profitable
business opportunities and has a keen eye for them. His eye
is even keener when it comes to women with a good sense for business.
Daratan
Called the chinese orc, Daratan only visits rich people to
offer them his exotic merchandise. He's rather pompous and
arrogant, but if you let Patricia ruin him, he'll be less so.

It's japanese believe that your bloodtype will tell you
what type of character you have. Patricia's bloodtype will
influence her parameters by every month.

04.03 Behavior

Patricia can turn rebellious at times - this can happen if her Moral
is too low or her Sin is too high. She'll change into punk-goth clothes
and rebel against anything you might tell her to do.
Personally, I noticed increased rebellious behavior with Bloodtype B.
Usually this stops after a month or two - it can take up to six months
or even longer to get her out of it. Increase her Moral the best you
can and that should do the trick.
Patricia will not wear any other clothes,
but she won't be affected by heat or cold, so no worries there.
Patricia will refuse to go to special occassions,
such as the last festival and National Day.
Patricia will not do much in classes or her jobs,
but her parameters will continue to increase.
Patricia's reaction to allowance and interaction with her
will suffer and not do much.

04.04 Sickness
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Patricia can get sick if you don't take care of her constantly
rising Stress level. When this happens, she will change into her
nightgown and the entire month must be devoted to nursing her.
Depending on her age, she can get sick at various Stress levels ranging
from 150 to up to 400 point or more.
At the beginning of the weeks, Cube will ask you where to treat her ..
At A Sanatorium
At Home
Treating Patricia at home has the advantage of gaining Trust with
either you or Cube. Having Cube nurse her back to health will increase
her Trust with him pretty well. If you nurse her back to health yourself
she'll gain more Trust with you, but the downside is that you'll loose
money when taking care of her.
From what I noticed, her parameters won't suffer from either option.

to enter Dark Town and pick Option 1 to enter the Demon World.

any of the events, so you can choose to merely attend it or rest.
Attending it can have an effect on her parameters.

16.01 Marriage
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Princess/Marrying Sharul
Etiquette and Dance lessons are your best bet for classes
and have Patricia work at the Carecenter or Market for
Temperament and Knowledge. Working as a Maid is perfect
if you need money without damaging your parameters and it can
shoot Refinement and Charisma through the roof.
Winning the Dance contest is your best bet and avoid Dark Town
and the Demon World. If you happen to meet Lee, just refuse
to go with him and he won't show up again.
Do not let Patricia work at the Sleazy Bar or the Casino,
the Maid Café is alright - it's even required for some events.
Speaking of events, once April 1445 rolls around set a week for
every month aside to go to town and witness as many events with
Sharul as you can.
If Patricia's Charisma is too low, wear the Beautiful Robe you
can buy from Daratan - money should be no issue, what with winning
the Dance contest. Otherwise, use the touch option to increase her
Charisma - or Pride, if it's too low. But the Church can help.
This ending has two epilogues with pictures - Human Victory and
Demon Exodus. Have her Moral below 700 to trigger Human Victory
and above 700 for Demon Exodus.
Demon Princess/Marrying Baroa
Etiquette and Dance lessons are a good way to increase her
various parameters. Send Patricia to work at the Market for
Temperament and Knowledge - Tutor is also a good option,
but watch out for her Morals. Choose Bloodtype B or 0 to
keep her Morals low, but also keep track of her Pride.
Once you meet Baroa, make sure to trigger an event with him
every month - you should gain access to the Demon World by
the end of October or November 1445. Towards the end of the
game, if you aren't sure if her Demon Points are high enough
have her visit the Demon World and wander around during free time.
If you unlocked it, buy things from the Demonic Shop and use them
if you bought a bottle that increases a parameter that's too low.
Dragon Princess/Marrying Lee
Start off by having Patricia attend Fighting and Magic classes,
once her Magical Arts are above 70, focus on Fighting class.
Win the Tournament for some cash and make sure to gain the required
Martial Arts and Stamina points.
Forget Refinement, it's not important - but take Etiquette and Dance
lessons to increase her Charisma. You'll worry for a while if you
have enough time to increase her Charisma up to 600, but it's managable
if you have her take Dance lessons and send her to work at the Maid Café
or as a Maid. Keep her Morals high enough, but also low enough.
Meet Lee October 1444 onwards - and meet Baroa in 1445. Try to avoid
meeting Sharul, so don't attend the National Day in 1445. Trigger events
with Lee, but also enough with Baroa to unlock the Demon World.
Once you have access to the Demon World, you can just ignore Baroa.
Go to the Demon World and see Lee's true form as a dragon and you can
safely ignore the Demon World for a while - continue to witness events
with Lee and increase Charisma. If it's too low, use the touch option
or wear the Beautiful Robe for 160 extra points. Once you think you have
enough Trust points with Lee, head to the Dragon's Lair again to obtain
the Dress of Dragons - rather useless as there's no real reason for you
to have Patricia walk into the Demon World anymore.
Marrying Cube
Housework. Let Patricia do a ton of housework most of the time.
If you want to win Harvest Festivals, have her take Art class to increase
her Sensitivity and get a masterpiece painted. Once Patricia is 13 or 14
years old, have her work at the Market for Temperament. Also, switch from
Art to Magic class until she's at the level where her Pride gets increased
and her Morals decreased - not sure if her Moral will affect the ending,
but just in case, keep it low. Downside of Magic class is, it'll shoot her
Sin high so spend some money to lower it at the Church.
Most of all, ignore Patricia's Stress so don't give her breaks and only
send her to town to unlock jobs. And don't go on vacations with her,
don't get her birthday presents however hard it might seem to see her
disappointed face afterwards because you don't want her to get too much
Trust with father. In February 1448, Patricia should confess her feelings
to Cube which means you pretty much have the deal done.
Marrying Father
Housework will start Patricia off with some good Temperament,
but don't overdo it or Cube will become your rival. Have her work at
the Carecenter and later on at the Market. Send her to Art classes
to increase her Sensitivity and win the Art exhibition if you need money.
If you need more Knowledge, have her work as a Tutor or the Market
but watch out for Morals with Tutor. Bloodtype B is your best bet,
as her Pride could increase too much with the others.
Mostly, take Patricia on a vacation at least once every season,
if you have cash to throw away take her on vacation once a month,
buy her birthday presents - and during choices, pick things that will
increase her Trust with you, Temperament or any of the other required
parameters.
Make sure to not get her Fame too high. Keep it at about 300 and the
same goes with her Pride - keep her Pride below 300 or you could
mess up your ending. For more Charisma, once again the Beautiful Robe
or the touch option. Don't let Patricia work at any of the shadier jobs,
it lowers her Trust with you. If you do send her, take extra vacations.
If you go to the Harvest Festival and Patricia sings, don't worry too
much - if you keep at your schedule and control her doings, she shouldn't
become a singer.
Avoid the various princes - quite easy with Sharul, send Lee away and
Baroa won't be met if you don't walk into Dark Town. Save around December
or January 1447 and her parameters should be at the required level.
Then keep going on vacations with her, you should have enough money.
In February 1448, she should give you a shoulder massage and you have
the choice to have her stay longer - option 1. If done right, you should
have the ending in your hand, you just need to accept her proposal
in April 1448.
Marrying normal Man
The easiest way is to work towards the Marrying Father ending.
Have a back-up save around December 1447 and, during the shoulder massage,
pick option 2 to marry her off soon. By default, she should choose to
marry a normal man now - if you did it wrong, she'll become a Freeter.

The Maou
Looking at the parameters, you'd think this is incredibly hard, no?
Actually, it's easy. You need about 50.000 Gold, which is easy to
obtain if you won several Harvest Festivals, and the Demonic Shop.
Before the end of the game - or even at March 31st 1448 - save and
continuously buy bottles from the Demonic Shop. Use the bottles to
increase her parameters to the required level - her Demon Points will
increase by 3 points every time you buy there, anyhow, so no need to
worry there.
Even if you have Trust with Baroa at the required marriage level,
the parameters will win and you'll obtain this ending.
This ending has three different epilogues - The War Rages On .. will
be your automatic epilogue if you got none of the special requirements.
Obtain Peace Among Nations by having over 600 points in Moral,
Demon Exodus will be unlocked by having less than 600 points in Moral
and over 700 Sensitivity points.
For Demon Victory, you must complete the Search for Mother's Song event.
Queen
Etiquette and Dance classes. Philosophy will be needed for Knowledge,
but you should focus on the first two classes for the high points
required in Refinement and Charisma. Magic can substitute Philosophy.
Work as a Maid as it has no back-draw and even further increases
Refinement and Charisma.
Win every Dance contest for Fame - you can lose once or twice, but
you should win every year. Talk to the various people in the castle
to increase your Fame even more.
Stay away from Dark Town unless it's needed and do not have her
work at the Sleazy Bar. Never, ever. Once her Knowledge has suffered
enough due to Dance class and her other parameters are high enough,
have her work at the Market or as a Tutor to increase her Knowledge.</pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
You can meet Sharul if you want to, but try to keep the events with
him at a minimum - as long as her Temperament isn't high enough
for the Princess ending, you can meet him as often as you want to.
Two epilogues for this ending - Human Victory will be obtained if
her Demon Points are below 50. If they are above 50 points, the epilogue
will be Peace Among Nations - if you want this one, you do need Baroa
and the Demon World. But you can overdo the Demon Points.

Magician
Quite easy - just pump her full with Magic from the class,
increase her Morals if they get too low and work at the Church or
donate to lower her Sin points. Try to avoid Karen, you could end
up with her ending.
Fortune Teller
I haven't aimed for this ending purposely yet.
But similar to Magician, have her take a lot of Magic classes,
keep her away from Karen and watch her Sin points.
Rest if her parameters get too high.
Artist
Also easy - Art classes until she graduates from them and becomes
the teacher's assistant. Buy the Oil-Based Paint Set if you want
to increase her chance of winning the Art exhibition early on.
In later years, the art teacher should stop by and hand her
the Legendary Brush - needed for this ending.
Use the touch option to increase her Pride or work as a Lumberjack,
mostly the Church will help with Pride, though.
Freeter
Not sure how I got this ending .. have Patricia take every class
and perhaps work at least once at every job. Focus on the Market job
and make sure to not obtain too much Trust with anybody, that her
parameters don't get too high in a specific area.
Try to keep her balanced and avoid special events.

Ending with Lise
Keep going to Fighting classes, win the Tournament and eventually
graduate from Fighting class. Witness as many events with Lise
as you can - especially some that can't be witnessed after her
father dies.
If you have access to the Demon World and entered it, Lise will
leave in October 1447 and you can't see her again - so stay away
from Dark Town. Don't meet Sharul as most of his events trigger
at City Square, the same spot as Lise's.
Work at the Church to increase her Morals and at the Market or
as a Tutor for some Knowledge. Don't freak out if you can't
trigger the Fashion Show with Lise at the Harvest Festival,
other events can make up for it.
Ending with Karen
Starts similar to Lise's route, just substitute Fighting class with
Magic classes. Graduate from there, too. Witness as many events with
Karen as you can, which can be a bit tricky. She only has a handful
of events every stage, so two years long you'll feel bored. But there
are things to prepare.
Once you finished all her events in the second stage, increase Patricia's
Magic Arts further and prepare for May 1445. Karen's last few events
take place in the Demon World, so you need to witness enough scenes with
Baroa until he grants you access to the Demon World.
Witness the last few events and make sure you have Patricia's Magic Arts
high enough and several other parameters in a good range.
