This is a most unusual game.
It's controlled entirely by the DS stylus.
You draw Pac-Man on the screen and he comes to life hunting after ghosts.
It was first shown as a tech demo at E3 in 2004.
Since then it has been expanded considerably and is now a full-fledged game.

The game and menus are controlled almost entirely by the stylus.
The only exception is that Start is used for pausing while in-game.
In the menus you often have to touch items twice to activate them.

Go through it to learn the basics of how to play.
You will also see the opening story, see translation below.

The basic game-play consists of drawing Pac-Man and control his path around to
screen to make him eat the Ghosts.
Get the basic rundown and practice on drawing Pac-Man in the lecture.

If you draw a big Pac-Man it moves slowly, small it moves fast.
Practice on making different size Pac-Mans and learn to control them.

Pulling:
Touch Pac-Man's body while he's moving and you can pull him backwards a little
bit.
Pull several times to make him move further backwards.
You can actually pull him on top of a Ghost and he will eat it.
If you are persistent it's possible to pull Pac-Man back just as he's about to
exit the screen, but don't count on it.
Lines:
Draw a line on the screen and Pac-Man will turn 90 degrees when he runs into it.
He will turn in the direction that the line is drawn.
A valid line will turn green, and small dots will move along it to indicate the
direction in which Pac-Man will turn.

One day a mischief-loving magician invented Ghost Ink.
Anything drawn in this ink becomes a Ghost.
Ghosts born from this ink are mischievous.
The Ghosts went into books and pictures spreading mischief.
The world inside was thrown into chaos.
Pac-man, our hero, could not sit idly by and watch this happen!
He begins to exterminate the Ghosts in the books with the only thing that could
defeat them, the Magic Pen.
That's our Pac-Man!
Using the power of the Pen all the Ghosts are confined to a single book.
Now all that needs to be done is return the Ghosts to Ghost Ink.
But just as things were coming to and end, the Ghosts stopped him.
Pac-Man was confined to a scrap of paper by the power of a curse!
He couldn't even get a hand or a foot out.
The Ghosts starts dashing out of the books. Will the mischief begin again...?
It is now that you the player open the book.
Work together with Pac-Man to return the ghosts to the ink they came from.
Can you defeat all the ghosts?

Each Page in each Chapter has a specific number of Ghosts you need to eat.
The Ghosts in each Page appear in groups.
Clear out all Ghosts from one group to make the next appear.
When the Ghosts first appear they are blinking and invulnerable.
You can have several Pac-Mans on the screen at once, but it can be hard to keep
track of and control all of them at once.
If you can handle it, it can be a good idea to draw a smaller Pac-Man to send
into Item Road, while still eating ghosts on the bottom screen with another one.
You get a new batch of lives for each Page.
Every time you draw a Pac-Man it uses up a life, and when he moves out of the
screen that life is lost.
When your last Pac-Man goes off-screen and you don't have anymore lives left
it's game over and you have to start over from the beginning of the chapter.
Later in the game various kinds of blockers or barriers appear.
They make Pac-Man bounce a little bit, and you have to be quick to catch him.
If he bounces out the screen a life is lost.
If he gets stuck bouncing back and forth between two barriers too many times,
he will automatically bounce out, so watch out.
There's a Boss at the end of every other Chapter.
Score is calculated at the end of each Page and Chapter.
Each Chapter has a separate High Score and a ranking from A-D (and S for
perfect score)
Bonus points at end of each Page:
5000 per remaining life (includes Pac-Mans drawn on the screen)
500 per remaining time unit

Avoid the arrows the plant shoots out.
Avoid the spiky roots when they pop up.
Eat the little plant when it appears on the bottom screen.

Draw Arrows that shoot up at the Ghosts
in their protective bubbles on the top screen.
The angle of the shaft of the arrow decides in which direction is goes.
Once they are on the bottom screen eat them as usual.

When parts of the cloud falls off it leaves blotches on the bottom screen.

When he drops to the bottom screen draw a Pac-Man and eat him.

Arrow reflector appears for the first time.
There is a barrier at the top screen,
stopping all arrows from reaching the Ghosts.
Aim an arrow at the reflector and it will change direction.
Do this to shoot the Ghosts at the top screen.

and you can use Arrows to shoot the Ghosts down.

The easiest way to activate the Group Switches is to draw a Pac-Man.

Eat the little green things the Boss plops down.
Once they are all eaten, he will move downwards to drop bombs.
Now you can shoot Arrows at the reflectors to hit the Boss in the back.
While Pac-Man is at the lower screen he will keep dropping bombs.
Avoid the bombs he drops. The blue targets mark where they will land.

Arrows, unlike Pac-Man, can be aimed in any direction, not just
up/down/left/right.
The angle of the shaft of the arrow decides in which direction is goes.
When doing Arrows going in a direction other than straight up it can help to
make the angles in the arrow-head rounded. It seems the game has trouble
detecting the sharp angles.
It's a really good idea, once you clear Chapter 4, to practice making arrows in
the Sketchbook, because it takes a bit of training to figure out how to make
arrows quickly, especially at the angles you need later on.
1. Start at the top drawing downwards:

In the Sketchbook in the Gallery there are several easter egg style secrets.
Apart from practising Pac-man there are also several things that will do funny
stuff if you draw them:
- Cloud: Draw a cloud and it will turn blue, rain and float out the side of the
screen. Drawing it fast and big usually works better.
- Butterfly: Draw a butterfly, like an 8 but start drawing in the middle, and
it will flutter away.
- Fart: Draw a butt, like a 3, M or W, and it will let out a loud fart.
- Treble Clef: Draw a treble clef (see image below), and it turns red with a
musical chime. Drawing it slowly works better, and make the curl at the end
distinct.
- Snake: Draw a wavy horizontal line from left to right, and it turns green and
slithers out the side of the screen. Make high, rounded waves.
- Turd?: Not sure how to draw this, but it turns brown with steaming stink-
lines.
- Tear?: Not sure how to draw this, but it shows a light blue hanging water
drop.
- Fan?: Not sure how to draw this, but it turns yellow and waves back and forth.
- Arrow: Draw an arrow and make it shoot up at the Pac-man on the top screen
and he will say "Wah-wah-wah." Only works after you have cleared Chapter 4 and
learned to draw arrows.
