02. INTRODUCTION .............................................. <INT>
===============================================================================
Okay. First of all, I am not fluent in Japanese (I took 6 months of Japanese
more than a decade ago), and there was no English guide anywhere. So, I just
played this game through and tried to discover as many secrets and such. I can
sort of understand some important things (like names), but the fine details,
like the precise Arte descriptions, are completely beyond my ability. I am
still going to try my best, using the miracles of internet. Having said that,
most Kanjis had Furigana, so that helped me greatly to get through this game.
This game is really friendly to those who just started to learn Japanese.
Still, I am bound to have misread some Hiragana/Katakana (or I misspelled
English words), so if you spot any mistakes, please let me know.
I heard that this game is very similar to Tales of Hearts, and I really enjoyed
that game (although it had its fair share of shortcomings). That's why I gave
this game a try, and I enjoyed this greatly. I can see why this game is known
as Tales of Keroro amongst the fans. In fact, many parts of this game were
better than Tales of Hearts.
I read a bit of Keroro manga recently, mostly because of this game. Evidently,
this manga (err, franchise) is quite well known. I wouldn't say that it was
one of the best mangas I have ever read, but it was amusing enough. This is a
gag manga, and it parodies and breaks the fourth walls very frequently. Its
story is - Keroro and his platoon are frog-like aliens from a planet called
Keron. And their mission is take over Pekopon, aka Earth. Keronians have far
superior technology than Earth's, but Keroro and his merry men get distracted
far too easily (their hobbies or otherwise), and is generally too incompetent
to complete their mission. See the Characters section below for more info.
I wrote my guide, assuming you can at least read Hiragana and Katakana.
Otherwise, I would have to describe the physical shapes of each Japanese
letters, and that is just too much work for me. It only takes an hour or so to
just learn Hiragana and Katakana (maybe few hours to memorize them), since
those are phonetic letters. Kind of like how people recognize Alphabets,
without actually understanding the words. Actually, it is even easier than
Alphabet since you are literally just reading what it sounds like without any
combinations of the letters. If you can't even put enough effort to do that,
then my guide may not help you as much. You have been warned.
I am going to leave some of the words in Japanese, even if I know the meaning.
For example, if the word is Tamago, I know it means Egg, but I'm going to leave
it as Tamago. However, if there are words like "Poteto", I'm going to make the
correction and say "Potato".
In additon, I am probably missing A LOT of secrets and side quests, since I
cannot understand most parts of the conversation. There are lots of extra
contents in this game (many meaningless scenes, I think), including many mini
games. Naturally, I am sure I missed many of those things. I used google to
find as much as I can about this game (Google is God), but I doubt I found them
all. If anyone can point out the specifics, I will put that in my guide and
give you the due credit. Thank you in advance.

03. BASICS .................................................... <BAS>
===============================================================================
I am going to assume you played several JRPGs in the past, so I am not going to
explain the extreme basics, such as, "the concept of random encounter battles".
Or things like talking to NPCs to trigger an event to move on with the plot.
The "Guide Book" item (which you get in the beginning) does a really good job
in explaining just about everything you'd want to know about the game. You do
need to talk to certain NPCs for the information to be recorded in the guide.
Sadly, I understood only little bit of it.
Here are some things you ought to know to play this game:
LMBS (Linear Motion Battle System)
Like many Tales games, the battles are fought on a 2-D field in real-time,
like a fighting game. You control one character, and the rest are controlled
by the AI. You can switch the characters in the middle of the battle. You
can also switch the AI tactics from the Menu (see Tactics section).
Gold
This is one of the in-game currencies. You use this to buy things from many
different shops.
Grade
This is another in-game currency. You use this to buy numerous different
things from the Grade shops.
CC (Chain Cap)
Normal attacks and Artes use CC points, and if it runs out, you cannot
attack. If you do not attack for a short time (you can move, block, etc), it
auto-recovers. Unlike most stats, Max CC does not change, even after the
Level Up -- it can only be changed with equipments.
Arte (Waza)
This is the active skills that characters can use on the battle field. There
is a lot of info about this, so I created a separate section for it. See the
Artes section for more detail.
BR (Blazing Rise)
BR Gauge fills up as you do damages to the enemies or by guarding attacks.
When the BR Gauge is completely full, you can activate the BR Mode. During
this time, you do not stagger from any damage, and none of the actions cost
any CC. You can also perform a Super Arte after a certain plot point.
BT (Battery)
This is used to summon Support NPCs to the battle to do an attack. They use
BT points, which can only be refilled by sleeping, using items, or touching
the Blue Magic Circle.
Magic Circle (Save Point)
A magic circle in various places. There are various colors:
Green: Save Point
Blue: Save Point + Full Heal
Orange: Teleports you out the dungeon
Purple: Teleports you to a different part of the dungeon.
You can save in the Overworld by going into the System Menu (see below).
Battle Mode
You can switch the Battle Mode (Auto/Semi-Auto/Manual) by pressing Select
in the Main Menu screen. I will assume you are using Manual.
Difficulty
You can adjust the difficulty of the battle by going into the System Menu.
Higher the difficulty, the more money/experience you receive. Certain
enemies drop items only at Mania or higher difficulty. However, you do not
have the access to Mania and higher difficulty until you beat the game.
HP/Stat Gold/Exp Special Drop
-------- -------- --------
Easy x0.7 x1 No
Normal x1 x1 No
Difficult x1.3 x1.1 No
Mania x2 x2 Yes
Unknown x3.5 x3 Yes
Luck
Luck stat decides how often you get critical hits, and how often you get item
drops from the enemies. Unlike other stats, Luck does not increase when you
Level Up. It changes randomly after sleeping or after a battle.
Sleeping
In various beds (or inns), you are able to rest. This restores your HP back
to full. It also changes your Luck.
Cooking
You can cook various food (you auto-consume immediately), if you have the
right ingredients and recipes. However, you must battle at least once after
cooking in order to cook more. See Cooking section for more info.
Negative Status Effects (Most of these last 18 sec if done on you)
You recover automatically from all of these after the battle.
Poison: Decreases HP over time, 10% of Max HP at a time.
Fatigue: Decreases CC to 1, and remains that way.
Paralysis: You stagger randomly, which also reduces the enemy's Armor to 0.
Stone: Becomes unable to take any action. You are invulnerable, but if
everyone is Stone, then it's game over.
Stun: Becomes unable to take any action. (recovers faster by rapidly moving
D-pad) You can be damaged during this state. It also reduces the
enemy's Armor to 0.
Stat Up and Stat Down
These are stat parameter changes, but are sort of treated like Status Effect.
They all last 20 seconds, and they change the parameters by 20%.
Battle Formation
You can change this in the Tactics menu. See the Tactics section for more
detail.
Target Change
During the battle, press the R button to switch the target. Or you can hold
the R button to access the Target Menu. Select the target and press A to
lock onto the target.
Guard
Hold Y to put up a guard, which reduces the received damage by 70%. It also
prevents status effects, staggers, launches, and KDs.
Just Guard
Put up a guard just as the attack is about to hit to halve the guard damage.
Step Dodge
Does a quick hop forward/back. You are invincible in this state.
Escape
If you need to do so, you can escape the battlefield by walking towards the
wall for a moment.
Cosplay
As you go through the plots, you will get different Cosplay items from
parallel Moas. They enable few Artes (and Code Names), and you learn more
Artes as you level up.
--------------------------------
Things you get later...
--------------------------------
More Manual Arte Slots
After a certain story point, you will get 8 Arte slots (instead of 4). You
set the second set of 4 Artes by pressing [Right] on the D-Pad when setting
the manual Artes. You can switch between Mode A and Mode B by pressing
[Start] on the main Menu screen.
Mode A: You replace Normal attacks (A Button) with the second set of Artes.
If you want to change them back to normal attacks, then you can do so
by cancelling the set with X Button.
Mode B: Hold L, then press [D-Pad + B Button] for the second set of Artes.
Super Arte (Chou Hissatsu Waza)
The attack actually translates to "Super Secret Killing Arte", but that is
too long, so I will refer to it as "Super Arte". After a certain plot point,
everyone learns the Super Artes. This can only be used during the BR mode.
Press L while you are in the BR mode to use it. Note that the initial attack
needs to hit the target to activate the rest of the attack.
--------------------------------
Control
--------------------------------
The control should be very familiar to the game, Tales of Hearts. Note that
not everything is available from the start.
Overworld:

conditions in the battle.

===============================================================================
04. CHARACTERS ................................................ <CHA>
===============================================================================
There are total of five playable characters, and you start with all of them
from the beginning. As they level up, they get stat boosts and numerous active
and passive abilities. Also, depending on who the On-Top character is, you get
both merits and de-merits (you can switch the characters with the L button when
you are controlling the character on the map).
--------------------------------
Keroro (Yellow Star with Green background)
--------------------------------
The Green Frog a blank face. His choice of weapon is the longsword (looks
like a Gundam beam saber), and his specialized element is Water.
Keroro (Gunsou, aka Sergeant) is the leader of the platoon, assigned to take
over Pekopon, aka Earth. However, he is easily distracted, so he fails all
the time (assuming he even attempts to do his job). He is a hardcore Gunpla
Otaku (Gundam Plastic Model), and he'd choose do that than anything else. He
lives with the Hinata family, and for some reason, he is enthusiastic about
his cleaning duties. He has a habit of ending his sentence with "de arimasu".
He has a close relationship with Fuyuki.
Keroro has the most balanced stats. He has lots of great Artes too. He can
combo extremely well, and his normal attacks have decent range. He even has
healing Artes. He is probably the most versatile character in the game.
On-Top: Gives better chance of receiving better luck, but you receive more
damage from the environment hazards.
Escape (Lv06) Reduces time when escaping
Proud (Lv22) When not attacking, BR fills up
Brave (Lv40) Higher the BR gauge, higher the attack
--------------------------------
Tamama (Green/Yellow Shield with Purple background)
--------------------------------
The happy looking Black Frog with big eyes. His choice of weapon is his own
fists, and his specialized element is Earth.
Tamama (Nitouhei, aka Private Second Class) is the youngest of the platoon
members, and this shows since he still has a tadpole tail. He (she?) has wild
mood swings, going from friendly to ax-crazy instantly. He has a crush on
Keroro (calls him "Gunsou-san"), and as a result, he hates Moa since she has a
crush on Keroro too (Tamama calls Moa, "Ano onna" - "that woman"). He has a
close relationship with Momoka, who actually has a split personality.
Tamama has high Max HP and Attack stats, but has low Defense and Agility
stats. In the beginning of the game, he isn't as useful because he has a
short attack range and low defense. However, once he gets Full Metal Body, he
becomes the best character in the game.
On-Top: Gives higher chance of getting Food item after the battle, but you
receive less Gold.
Absorb (Lv05) Increases the food effectiveness, except Curry.
Jealous (Lv23) Increases BR when taking multiple hits.
Revenge (Lv41) Lower the HP, higher the attack.
--------------------------------
Giroro (Yellow Skull with Red background)
--------------------------------
The angry lookig Red Frog with a scar. His choice of weapon is a gun, and his
specialized element is Fire.
Giroro (Gochou, aka Corporal) is a very experienced soldier. He has a serious
personality, and he is the only member who actively tries to keep the platoon
to accomplish the mission. Specifically, he tries to keep Keroro in line, but
those attempts mostly fail. He has a massive crush on Natsumi (Fuyuki's older
sister), and most of his motivation nowadays stems from his undying love for
her. Sadly, she does not reprociate, although she still loves the sweet
potatoes he make.
Giroro has high Max HP and Defense stats, but has low Attack and Agility
stats. In the later parts of the game, he becomes one of the most useful
characters on the battle field, thanks to his Armor reducing attacks. This
especially stands out in Difficult and above modes, because so many enemies
have high Armor stats.
On-Top: Experience +5% from battles, but Defense goes down.
Extend (Lv08) Stat-Ups last longer.
Spirit (Lv20) Auto-recovers 3% of HP every 2 seconds.
Reckless (Lv42) If HP < 20%, Attack and Defense rises.
--------------------------------
Kururu, aka Kululu (Orange Spiral with Orange background)
--------------------------------
The Yellow Frog with goofy glasses. His choice of weapon is disc (for his
machines?), and he uses all elements.
Kururu (Souchou, aka Sergeant Major) is the mad scientist of the team (very
stereotypical, complete with an evil laugh), and Keroro frequently relies on
his impossible inventions. Despite his incredible ability, Kururu mostly do
things for his own dark and twisted amusements. His original skin color was
blue, but it permanently changed to yellow after he fell into a huge plate of
curry. He has a close relationship with Mutsumi.
Kururu has the lowest Max HP, but all other stats are balanced. He has many
magic spells at his disposal, and more importantly, he can heal others. He
even gets party healing Artes later. You can use his offense spells, but I
suggest you to keep him on stand-by, just so you can use him to heal others
when needed.
On-Top: Hidden items in towns sparkle, but the map movement speed goes down.
Sinister (Lv07) Critical chance rises when attacking enemy's weakness.
Analyst (Lv19) Enhances Kaiseki Loupe's effect. (views all drops/steal)
Reduct (Lv35) Reduces magic casting speed by 30%.
--------------------------------
Dororo (Red Shuriken with Blue background)
--------------------------------
The ninja Blue Frog. His choice of weapon is katana, and his specialized
element is Wind.
Dororo (Heichou, aka Lance Corporal) is a ninja. His original name was Zeroro
(not ninja), but after Koyuki saved him and trained him to be a ninja, he
changed his name to Dororo. Unlike the rest of the platoon, he actively tries
to protect the Earth. He naturally lacks presence, so the platoon frequently
forgets about him, which ends up depressing him. He has a habit of ending his
sentence with "de gozaru".
Dororo has low Max HP, and has the worst Attack and Defense stats. However,
he has the highest Agility stat. Dororo is similar to Keroro, but Dororo is
more one-on-one fighter than Keroro. He has ridiculously high Agility stat,
but I find that stat to be useless.
On-Top: The map movement speed goes up, but the chance of being pincered in
the random battles increases.
Invisible (Start) Gets targed less by the enemies.
Endurance (Lv21) Prevents all negative status effects a little.
Rapid (Lv39) Reduces the time of CC recovery.

07. WEAPONS ................................................... <WPN>
===============================================================================
There are lots of weapons in the game, but each character is limited to using
only one type of weapon (just like all Tales games). They generally exist to
enhance the Attack and CC stats, but they can provide other bonuses.
Note that some weapons have Element properties. They replace all Non-Elemental
attacks, including Artes, but does not overwrite the elemental Artes.
*: I could not find these in the game. I know these exist, since they were in
the game code, though.

08. GUARDIANS ................................................. <GUA>
===============================================================================
Guardians are basically the armors of the game. Looking at the description
pictures, they are Gunpla models. I got the names from the original Gunpla box
covers.
Unlike most games, everyone can wear any Guardian, assuming you have enough
quantity. Their main purpose is to enhance Max HP, Defense, and Agility stats,
but their second purpose is to provide the passive Guardian Skills. Depending
on the situation, the Guardian Skills may be even more important than the stat
enhancements. See the Guardian Skills section below for more detail. Some
Guardians also enhance other stats.

09. GUARDIAN SKILLS ........................................... <GSK>
===============================================================================
These are the Guardian Skills that come with some Guardians. They are all
passive skills, and they can be crucial in determining the character setup. In
fact, if you maxed out all stats (through cooking Curry), these skills will be
the main reason for deciding which Guardian a character will wear.
Note: Experience/Gold multipliers stack in your favor. So, if you equip all
three battle characters with Learning II at Difficult difficulty, your
final experience multiplier is x3.7125 (1.1 x 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5).

10. CODE NAMES ................................................ <COD>
===============================================================================
Code Name is under the "Equipment" tab, but it is basically the equivalent to
the Titles from the other Tales games. You automatically get them at certain
plot points, or by fulfilling certain conditions (including completing certain
Side-Quests). Their sole purpose is to enhance stats.
Unlike Tales of Hearts, you do not get any bonus in the NG+ for unlocking the
Code Names. Of course, unlike ToH, your levels and stats do not reset. So,
unless you are aiming for a perfect game, you can ignore most titles.
Some Code Names also change the appearance of the character sprites on the map.

11. ARTES ..................................................... <ART>
===============================================================================
This is one of the most important part of the game. You will fight a lot, and
you will be heavily relying on the Artes (Active Skills). Therefore, you
should know as much as you can about them.
There are several icons next to the Arte names on the top screen. One sword
icon means it is a physical skill that costs 2 CC. Two swords icon means it is
a physical skill that costs 3 CC. Fire wand icon means it is a magic spell
that targets enemies. Sparkling wand icon means it is a magic spell that
targets allies. Three swords icon means it is a Super Arte skill.
This part of the guide is why it took me so long to complete. I rigorously
tested these as much as I could to find out as much as I can.
I tested attacks on Shadow Tamama (Mania), since he's neither strong nor weak
against any element, and is strong enough to live through most attacks.
The default was ~1000 damage with the normal attacks (Attack = 991).
Note 1: If you want AIs to not use certain Artes, you can turn them off with
the X button.
Note 2: If you select an Arte and a target, and then change the target before
the Arte activates, it will still target the initial target.
Note 3: The more you use an Arte, the more powerful it becomes. The usage
maxes out at 999. The listed stats are for maxed usage.
Note 4: You do less than half of the original damage if the same Arte is used
repeatedly, unless the Arte is marked with $. This can be nulled if
you follow up the Arte with a different attack (ex: Normal attack).
Note 5: Most enemies have Armor stat (some more than others). This allows them
to not stagger even after being hit. If their Armor gets reduced to 0,
then they stagger from being hit. After their Armor is broken and they
are not damaged for a second, then they fully recover their Armor.
Note 6: Normal attacks do 16 Armor damage.
Note 7: Some attacks start by jumping initially. If these can be used in the
air, then the aerial version's time will be measured.
Note 8: I deactivated Keroro's passive skill, Brave, to test out his Artes.
Note 9: This factors in Kururu's spell casting speed enhancement, since I could
not test his spells without it.
[1~5]R: 1 is short, 5 is long range
[1~5]W: 1 is narrow (vertically), 5 is wide
[1~5]T: 1 is short time (delay), 5 is long time before the attack hits
xT: The Arte takes 1 second or more (separately timed).
@: Air
#: Can combo into itself infinitely (and therefore spammed)
$: The power does not deteriorate after repeating
LL: Low Launch (small launch)
HL: High Launch (high in the air)
KB: Knock Back
KD: Knock Down (some enemies go down on the ground)
After they get up, they auto-recover their Armor.
Non-Deterioration Combo (NDC): <Special>, <Normal>, <Special>,...

===============================================================================
12. SUPPORT SUMMONS ...........................................
===============================================================================
At a certain plot point, you are able to summon the Support NPCs to do an
attack. The Support NPCs are summoned on the battle field by literally
pressing the bottom screen with a Stylus pen, assuming you set them up in the
Support Menu. You need to have the Support Summon Item in order to use them.
The Support NPCs are invincible, so you do not need to protect them while they
get ready to attack.
You start with one summon panel and 10 BT gauge, but as you go through the
plots, you eventually get four panels and 40 BT gauge. BT can only be refilled
by sleeping, using items, or touching the Blue Magic Circle.
I tested attacks on Enemy 120 (Mania) since it is neither strong nor weak
against any element, and is strong enough to live through most attacks. The
default was ~1000 damage with the normal attacks (Attack = 791).
Note 1: The power of the Support Summon is based on the battle character with
the highest Attack stat.
Note 2: Most enemies have Armor stat (some more than others). This allows them
to not stagger even after being hit. If their Armor gets reduced to 0,
then they stagger from being hit. After their Armor is broken and they
are not damaged for a second, then they fully recover their Armor.
Note 3: Normal attacks do 16 Armor damage.
Note 4: I deactivated Keroro's passive skill, Brave, to test out everything.
[1~5]R: 1 is short (horizontally), 5 is long range
[1~5]W: 1 is narrow (vertically), 5 is wide
LL: Low Launch (small launch)
HL: High Launch (high in the air)
KB: Knock Back
KD: Knock Down (some enemies go down on the ground)
After they get up, they auto-recover some Armor.

13. TACTICS ................................................... <TAC>
===============================================================================
Just like all Tales games, you have some influence in the AI's actions by
customizing the Tactics. You can set one basic tactic, and up to five detailed
tactics. I am not sure which of these has the priority.
You start with some tactics. You can buy the rest tactic selections from the
Grade Shops. Some become available only after certain plot points.
I am just going to translate the descriptions, because some titles are a bit
confusing. But I may be wrong in some parts. Please correct me if I am wrong.
You can also change the battle formation (called Tairetsu) in the Tactics menu
at the bottom of the screen. It is pretty self-explanatory. One important
note: you can overlap each other's position (ex: all five characters can on the
most front position).
--------------------------------
Basic Tactic
--------------------------------
This decides the basic actions of the AI.
Normal: Balances the offense, defense, and healing.
All-Out: Goes all out with the attacks. Uses BR when the BR gauge is full.
Defend: Primarily focuses on defending itself.
Support: Focus on healing and stat ups.
Appropriate: Fights according to their personality.
--------------------------------
Detailed Tactic
--------------------------------
When choosing the detailed actions, there are four tabs - Offense, Defense,
Assist, and Others. Out of the five slots, the top slot has the priority.
Offense
----------------
- Attack the enemy with lots of HP.
- Attack the enemy with small HP.
- Attack the air enemy.
- Attack the front enemy.
- Attack the back enemy.
- Attack the spell-casting enemy.
- Attack the locked-on enemy.

do not have healing Artes.

14. ENEMIES ................................................... <ENE>
===============================================================================
This is a RPG game, so there are lots of enemies. And just like all RPGs, they
can cause a lot of problems if you are unprepared.
However, I decided not to include all the info (HP, elemental affinities,
experience, Gold, etc). Instead, I focused on drop/steal items. I felt that
they were more important than the other information.
In order to get <Star> next to the enemy name, you need to:
1. Expose the enemy to all elements (or you can use Kaiseki Loupe or Dororo's
Kanteiganriki Arte).
2. Get all the items, including steals,
Or
3. Use Kaiseki Loupe with Kururu, once he gets the Kaiseki Loupe enhancement.
Double Circle: Very Effective (x1.5)
Circle: Effective (x1.25)
No Mark: Neutral
Triangle: Ineffective (x0.75)
X-Mark: Very Ineffective (x0.5)
* Can only be gotten from at minimum Mania difficulty (which is unlocked after
beating the game once).

15. KEPPAROW'S TREASURES ...................................... <KEP>
===============================================================================
After a certain plot point, an NPC mentions a name, Jack Keparrow (as in Jack
Sparrow, geddit?) and give you Keparrow no Chizu (trans: Kepparow's Map). If
you press [Start] on the field, you can input the passwords (you can also just
select Kepparow no Chizu item in the Item Menu). If you put the correct
password, it reveals the location of that particular treasure. Some treasures
require you to have particular Key Items (namely, Aoi Kagi and Akai Kagi).
I cannot post the actual passwords here, because the password letters are all
symbols. And I cannot post their placements either, because the placements
change everytime you open the keyboard. I guess the devs did this to prevent
people from spreading this all over the internet. Not a bad attempt, I admit.
At some point though, Bandai Namco decided to post the passwords on their
Keroro RPG website. Here they are (it's in Japanese, but you should be okay):
https://www.bandainamcoent.co.jp/cs/list/keroroRPG/secret/point.html
It was a pain in the ass to input all these passwords, but whatever.

16. COOKING / INGREDIENTS ..................................... <COK>
===============================================================================
Like all Tales games, this game has the obligatory Cooking option. Think of
Cooking as a way of using a combination of certain items (Ingredients) as
Field items. However, in order to do so, you need two things:
- Recipe for the dish
- Necessary Ingredients to make the dish
You can find all Recipes from the Grade Shop, Keparrow's Treasures, and the
treasure chests. All dish effects apply to your entire party, except for the
Curry dishes.
However, you can only cook once per map. Meaning, after cooking once, you must
battle something before you can cook again. However, Curry dishes are the
exception - you can cook as many times as you want per field.
Most dishes need only one of each ingredients, but there are exceptions.

17. KEROKA .................................................... <KKA>
===============================================================================
When you enter Royal City, you will be introduced to a mini game called Keroka.
Everything in this section becomes available after that scene.
It is basically like a card battles -- Your card has HP (or MP, which is the
same as HP) and an element (literally Rock, Papar, and Scissors), and you take
turns damaging each other until one of the cards loses. The card with the
elemental advantage does 30% more damage and receives 30% less damage.
When you talk to a certain NPC, he will ask you if you want to Keroka Battle.
He decides the battle rules:
- Type of the battle
- Tournament, where the victor card wins that particular round, and the
player with the most victory rounds wins.
- Survival, where the victor card stays on the battlefield and continues to
battle other cards until all of the opponent's cards are eliminated.
- Number of cards for each team -- Both teams have the same number for the
Tournament, but the number may be different for the Survival.
- Number of items each teams can use -- Both teams have the same number,
regardless of the battle type.
When you get to the Keroka screen, you first select the character card (s),
then the item card (s), then the order of the cards. Press the B Button to
de-select something, but you cannot go back a screen.
There are three fight actions -- Tatakau (Fight), Tokkou (Special), and Item.
- Tatakau: You hit normally. This attack never misses.
- Tokkou: You hit your target strongly (x2 damage?), but you may miss.
- Item: You can use the items you selected earlier. You can only use each
items once per battle (but you do not lose it permanently).
Press [Start] if you want to escape (aka lose automatically).
If you win, you randomly take one of the opponents' cards. If you lose, you
randomly lose one of your participating cards.
There are multiple different ways to gain cards -- Gashapon Machines, winning
Keroka battles, trading, finding them in the Towns, and Keparrow's Treasures.
--------------------------------
Gashapon Machine Locations
--------------------------------
There are many Gashapon machines throughout the world towns. Depending on the
location, the machines have different possible cards. White machines (1~5)
cost 20 G (get 10 G back if you maxed out the cards), and Red machines (A~C)
cost 200 G (and get 100 G bck if you maxed out the cards).

Tips on beating Alisa
--------------------------------
Alisa is the secret boss of Keroka Battle. She is behind the locked door in
Yorokobi no Machi (can be opened with Himitsu no Kagi), so you can battle her
as soon as you get Akai Kagi, but she is probably impossible to beat before
you clear the game. Here is the battle info:
Survival - 3 vs 1 (you being 3)
Item - 3
Alisa uses the Character Card Sanshimai, which has many advantages:
- 5000 HP.
- Effective against all elements, meaning she does more damage against you.
- Resistent to all elements, meaning you do less damage against her.
- Halves all direct damages from the items.
- Reduces Poison damage by 30%.
Alisa has Kaifuku Yaku, which will heal 3500 HP at some point, and you cannot
stop her from doing so (Fuuji or freeze effects will wear off before she dies,
even if you use them right before she typically uses the heal), meaning her
actual HP is ~8500. She also has All Clear, meaning any status effect you put
on her will be healed immediately (although only once). And she has
Reflect Cut, which prevents you from abusing Reflect. She is truly well
prepared.
Save the game before fighting her. If you lose, you lose one of your cards.
As far as I know, very few strategies work against her, but here is mine:
- Choose the Character Cards 051, 120, and 121.
- Choose the Item Cards 128 (or 130), 132, and 134.
The order is: 120, then 121, then 051. When the battle begins, use 134.
Alisa will cure it. Then, use 132. Then use 128. Now, hope for the best, as
you need a bit of luck to beat her.
===============================================================================
18. ARENA ..................................................... <ARE>
===============================================================================
After a certain plot point, the Arena will open in Vacance City, where you can
battle sets of monsters for various prizes. Unlike the normal battles, only
one character can participate at a time. And, you cannot use the items nor
Support Summons. In addition, you cannot initially view their stats, even if
you already have the complete Monster entry (once Dororo uses Kanteiganriki
Arte on them, then everyone else can view the stats). And the prizes differ,
depending on the participant.
Some battles are absurdly hard (especially for Giroro and Kururu), so I suggest
you to lower the difficulty -- it's not like there is any penalty for lowering
the difficulty.
Extra rank can be accessed only after beating the game once.
Anyways, here is the detail:
--------------------------------

19. BALLOON GAME .............................................. <BAL>
===============================================================================
In Gakumon no Machi, there is a man in front of the Library who lets you play
the Balloon game. It is basically a more difficult form of Giroro's game.
The goal of the game is to destroy all balloons within certain time, using only
Keroro. All hits do 1 damage, and some balloons can take more than one hit
(balloons with less HP is more red).
There are total of five ranks, and you start at Rank 1. If you beat it below
certain time, you can move on to the next rank. Everytime you pass a rank, you
get a reward (only once).
You can check the top scores on the sign board to the right.

20. FINAL NOTES / CREDITS / LEGAL INFO ........................ <FIN>
===============================================================================
I did it... I finished this guide. Wow, this took a long time. But dayamn!
Given that I don't know Japanese very well, I am impressed with myself. Well,
I used various sources to help me complete this guide, but I am the one who
rigorously tested out everything. This is probably my longest guide. And a
very detailed one. I am patting myself on the back here. I am awesome.
I greatly enjoyed this game. As stated few times in this guide, I am probably
missing few things. If anyone finds more info, please let me know. In fact,
if you find any mistakes in the guide (contents, spelling errors, etc), please
let me know ASAP, and I will fix them. Thanks.
I would like to thank various sources that helped me to complete this guide:
