1.Story
Saint Seiya focuses on the tale of Seiya, a young man sent to
Greece to fight for the bronze armor of Pegasus, and for what
reason, he knows not. Seiya believes that once he's won the armor,
the bulk of the battle is over. Little does he know that his
battles are only beginning. As he returns to Japan, he learns
of a tournament between the Saints of Athena in which he's
already been entered, much to his chagrin. Seiya refuses to fight,
but is quickly convinced to do so by the devious host, Saori.
Yet, Saori's intentions remain pure as she follows her lineage,
and in the mere hosting of one tournament, she endeavors to draw
out a great evil that will either fall to her Saints, or defeat
them and rule the world.

2. Obtaining and Evolving Seiya
Seiya’s help koma can be unlocked on the first objective of the
first mission in the Saint Seiya world(located in J-Space, alongside
Dragonball and Rokudenashi Blues). Completing the mission is easy enough,
requiring you to finish the match with the most points.
Seiya’s evolution chart is as follows:

  -[S2]-[S3]
  |
[H]-[B4]-[B5]-[B6]-[B7]-[B8]

The gem cost for each koma, excluding the free help koma, is:

Support 2 koma-35 red, 15 green, 5 white
Support 3 koma-80 red, 20 green, 10 white
Battle 4 koma-150 red, 50 green, 15 white
Battle 5 koma-350 red, 50 green, 20 white
Battle 6 koma-500 red, 100 green, 30 white
Battle 7 koma-900 red, 100 green, 200 white
Battle 8 koma-900 red, 500 green, 300 white
Athena(used to obtain the path to Seiya’s 8 koma)-100 red, 300 green,
50 pink, 100 blue

This comes to a total of 3,015 red gems, 1,135 green,
50 pink, 100 blue, and 580 white.

3a.Basic Controls
Left on the D-pad: Moves your Battle Character left.

Right on the D-pad: Moves your Battle Character right.

Down on the D-pad: Puts your Battle Character into a
defensive stance, guarding against attacks.

Up on the D-pad: Used with the X,Y, and B buttons to
execute different attacks.

A button: Used to jump. Some characters are allowed to jump
three times instead of the normal two.

B button: Executes a weak attack. These do less damage than Y attacks,
but are usually faster.

Y button: Executes a strong attack. Usually slower than B attacks.

X button: Performs a special attack. These are more powerful than B
and Y attacks but cost one bar of SP each time they are used.

Select: Performs the character’s Ultimate Action. Some
Ultimate Actions have positive effects such as regaining
SP or increasing the damage of the character's Y attacks.

----------------------
3b.Basic Attacks
B:Seiya does a simple forward punch. Fairly fast and good for
starting combos.

B+right or B+left:Seiya steps forward while punching
with energy surrounding his fist. Pretty decent, rather like
Seiya’s regular B attack.

B+up:Seiya performs an uppercut. Good for launching the enemy
a short distance into the air.

B+down:Seiya makes a burst of energy around him. Changes the
opponents Battle Character if it hits.

B(aerial):Seiya chops downwards. Decent spike attack.

Y:Seiya steps forward while releasing a burst of energy bullets from
his fist(Tapping Y quickly yields more hits, up to 10 maximum.) Good
for edge-guarding and good for finishing combos.

Y+right or Y+left:Seiya steps forward while firing a large energy
bullet out of his fist which travels a short distance.

Y+up:Seiya jumps while releasing a burst of energy bullets from his
fist(Tapping Y quickly yields more hits, up to 13 maximum.) Good for
hitting opponents above you.

Y+down:Seiya punches the ground around him. Breaks enemy’s guards.

Y(aerial):Seiya kicks downwards at a 45 degree angle. Deals decent
damage and is fairly fast.

Select:Seiya does a pose while glowing blue. This recharges SP a
little at a time, and should only be used if your bar is almost full.

4.Help and Support Koma
Seiya's help koma, when attached to a Battle Character, decreases
damage done by special attacks.Seiya's 2 koma(Shield of Athena)
heals your Battle Character a little and removes status effects.
Finally, Seiya's 3 koma(Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken) causes him to appear
above you, launching a barrage of energy bullets down on the enemy.
This koma is often used to break chains or combos.
===============================
5.Battle Koma
All of Seiya's komas are relatively easy to combo with certain
support komas. For example, 7 koma Seiya's special + Shishio 2
koma sends your opponent flying because of the explosion at the
end of Seiya's special and leaves them with a burn effect because
of Shishio. This combo can be done with all of Seiya's koma, but
the damage output decreases as the koma size decreases.
Seiya's koma traits are as follows:

4 koma
------
Nature: Power
Help Koma Boost: Shiryu, Shun, Hyoga
J-Soul: 136
Special 1: Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken - Fires a barrage of energy bullets.
Fires a second barrage if tapping X repeatedly.
Special 2: Pegasus Sui Sei Ken - Fires a medium-sized energy bullet
in the air.

5 koma
------
Nature: Power
Help Koma Boost: Shiryu, Shun, Hyoga
J-Soul: 152
Special 1: Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken - Fires a barrage of energy bullets.
Fires a large bullet after initial barrage if
tapping X repeatedly.
Special 2: Pegasus Sui Sei Ken - Fires three medium-sized energy
bullets into the air.
Shape: [][][]
        [][]

6 koma
------
Nature: Power
Help Koma Boost: Shiryu, Shun, Hyoga
J-Soul: 168
Special 1: Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken 'BIG BANG' - Fires a short barrage
of energy bullets. If the initial barrage hits your opponent,
tap X repeatedly for an explosion after the barrage.
Special 2: Pegasus Rolling Crush - Seiya stands in one place and
grabs the opponent, taking them up then smashing them into the ground.
Shape: [][][]
      [][][]

7 koma
------
Nature: Power
Help Koma Boost: Shiryu, Shun, Hyoga
J-Soul: 168
Special 1: Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken 'BIG BANG' - This is almost the same as
6 koma Seiya's Special 1 but you do not need to hit the opponent to
activate the explosion. Tapping X repeatedly will yield more hits.
Special 2: Pegasus Rolling Crush - Again, almost identical to 6 koma
Seiya's Special 2 but when this special is activated, Seiya dashes
forward a short distance. This dash also blocks any frontal attacks.

8 koma(Gold Saint Seiya)
------------------------
Nature: Power
Help Koma Boost: Athena, Mu, Ryotsu(Kochi Kame)
J-Soul: 200
Special 1: Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken 'BIG BANG' - This special is different
from 7 koma and 6 koma in that there is no explosion at the end of the
special. Instead, Seiya releases a more straight-forward barrage of
energy bullets after the initial barrage.
Special 2: Saggitarius Arrow - Seiya pulls out a bow and fires a straight
beam of golden energy into the air.

6.Strategies
Seiya is played best as a middle range character. He can hit his opponent
pretty much anywhere, even behind him as his guard break and forced
character change hit all around and have semi wide areas of effect. He is
best for surprise attacks on the ground because of his left/right Y attack.
Although Seiya is a middle range character, he cannot recover very well
from ranged attackers. Ranged attacks make it hard for Seiya to get in
range of attacking his opponent so keep your opponent on screen while
staying clear of their attacks at the same time. Seiya is also a fantastic
edge-guarder. If you manage to fling your opponent off the edge, his left/
right Y attack is great. This will only work, however, if your opponent
isn't flung too high. If they are above you and off of the stage, they can
simply fall clear over your head and back onto the stage.

7.Credits
I'd like to thank finally13(a.k.a. actawesome), Hiei_owns_you, and

different combos on them. Story summary of Saint Seiya taken from
TV.com's summary of the show(http://www.tv.com/saint-seiya/show/24397/
