- FRONT DESK -
Upon the arrival of Hotel Dusk, you'll see that its quite deserted. In fact,
there's no one in sight. Proceed to the counter, and tap the counter bell 3
times to get the hotel owner out. He thought that you're Rosa, but of course,
you're not. When he realises his mistake, a triangular prompt with a symbol of
an index finger pointing at his face will appear. Tap on it, and you'll see two
choices.
Choose "Did you call me Rosa?" for some knowledge around. As it seems, Rosa is
the hotel maid here.
The name's Dunning Smith. He'll eventually offer you a nice, suite. It doesn't
matter whether you accept it or not. Its too expensive for him. Now, double-tap
the pen to grab it, and slide a little across the columns on the form to fill
them up. He's pretty shock to see your name. He'll avoid the topic, but tap
the triangle to prompt him for more.
Choose "What's your problem?" and he'll talk about how there's another guest
with the same name 6 months ago. Now, take the "Room 215 Key", which is also
known as the Wish key. You'll think its a waste of time, until he actually
says that there's a story behind it...Oh wait!
Choose "What story?" to pry his mouth open for how the key for that is named.
Grab the "hotel brochure" to finalise the checking-in.
Now, you can ask questions that's been burning in you. Two actually. Ask
about the package, but Dunning claim there's nothing of that sort. He also
dropped hint about this better not be causing any problem...
Select "What problems?" which leads to another question.
Now select "My room grants wishes?" and he'll fill Kyle in with the wish-
granting thingy.
Lastly, get him talking about the incident about the problem.
Once you have squeezed all sorts of details from him, you'll be back in
the top-view perspective. Tap the notebook icon and save the game via
the menu.
Progress deeper, and an old lady will arrive. She's quite disappointed
that you've gotten her room, and settled for another room. Ignore her.
- LOBBY -
There's nothing beyond the various doors, so you have to get through the doorway
on the left. If there're important details that you didn't asked, it'll be
brought up on Kyle's mind.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Ascend the stairs to the 2F.
A little girl is blocking your way. Ask what's wrong, and she said she's playing
there. This annoying girl wouldn't budge.
Eventually, she'll let you in on why she won't move. Its due to an uncomplete
puzzle. Ask her about it. Be a nice gentleman and help her. If you decided to be
a meanie and bullied her to the end, you will get tossed out of the hotel by
Dunning when you attempt to go to your room later!
..its a jigsaw puzzle. Its stupid, but not hard. A little bit more of the
exchange of words, she leaves. However, that's enough to pique your curiosity
for a doubt. At this moment, procure the 'puzzle piece' that she dropped on
the stairs. You'll see that there's a line behind it.
- HALLWAY -
Someone's exiting from Room 213. Now, you can talk to him to know a character
better early, but its ok if you decides to skip this scene. It is suggested to
initiate a conversation with him of course.
Tap the flashing triangle to talk. He introduces himself as Jeff Angel. A brief
conversation, and he'll say that he rather stay elsewhere if given a choice.
Question him about why he doesn't have a choice, but he's keeping the answer to
himself.
Question Jeff about the kid by the stairs, who he'll reveal to be Room 219's
Melissa.
Prompt the next doubt in your head, the "It's too bad I'm not a cop?", and
he'll talk about how this place seems quite like a crime scene or something.
Jeff will return to his room.
Knock on door 219 to talk to Melissa's dad, but the rudeness means he's not
into talking a lot with you. Most of the rest of the rooms are empty, so you
should get to your room.
Take out the "Room 215 Key" from the suitcase, and tap on the door knob to
unlock it. Tap it again to enter the room.
- ROOM 215 -
Pick up the ringing phone by the bed. Its Rachel, just checking up on you, as
well as a reminder on the package.
Goes to use the Suitcase Key onto your suitcase. Slot the key into the keyhole,
and turn it. Bummer, the key broke. Now you need a wire...
Turn to walk towards the door, when you'll get a knock on the door. If you
didn't, then you'll have to return to the front desk to speak and clear all the
questions you have in mind with Dunning. If you haven't ask about the kid on
the stairs to Jeff, you can ask Dunning too, and he will says that she is
Melissa.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5:10 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Package delivered on 5:10. Assist the bellhop by taking the box on top. The
bellhop starts to act suspicious and is in a rush to leave.
It is vital that you speak with the bellhop here, because he knows your past. If
you didn't talk to him now, he'll expose your identity of being a former-cop to
Dunning, and he'll force you out of the hotel once you get to the front desk.
Tap his body so Kyle will yank his head up for a close look. Kyle recognised him
as "Louis DeNonno", or "Louie", last seem on the winter of 76 as a pickpocket.
The pickpocket Officer Kyle caught is now working in this hotel.
Wait a sec...it seems Louie have bad memories of Kyle uh? Some old chatting here
and there, which also prompt quite an amount of doubts.
"You're doing better?" prompts another question, so quickly ask him about it.
He's keeping mum because he doesn't want to talk about it to a cop...which he
thought Kyle still is.
What does Louie meant by Kyle having a different vibe? It seems Kyle dressed
differently back in the days, and was much cooler.
..
Ok, next question. the one about Kyle's name? There gives no much advancement.
Question the thing he's keeping quiet about, but he's really reluctant to
share his little secret. Before he depart, he says that he hope you don't
talk much about his past either.
Check out the package on the bed, which contains a ...Wait. A notebook?
Time to make some correction. Attempt to get to the front desk.
- HALLWAY -
Someone comes out from Room 219. Its Melissa...Talk to her.
She says she's unable to see her mum without the thing she lost. Question her
on why she won't be able to see her.
Going to see mummy? Query her about her mummy. The conversation should gets
better, and switched to her dad. She'll reveal more about her parents, even
drawing a picture of her mother on your notebook. Tap the suitcase icon, and
show her the Puzzle Piece. At this moment, her dad came out, and pulled her
back into the room.
Back to the quest of heading to the front desk.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - LOBBY -
There're still nothing here. Head to the front lobby.
- FRONT DESK -
You'll see a lady by the corner. Tap on her shoulder and you'll see that she's
the lady whom you saw in the opening movie of this game (as if you can't tell
that the moment you sees her here!). A fat lady will interrupt your flirting.
She's Rosa that Dunning was talking about. She'll say that the lady whom you
were talking to is Mila.
I wouldn't be surprise if you attempt to speak with the lady =D That's what
every guy with a brain will do. Unfortunately, she's not talking. Speak with
Rosa instead. Apparently, Kyle isn't the first salesman from Red Crown who will
try to sell things here.
Ask about Mila's name, and she'll confess that she didn't actually sure about it
since she make the deduction from the name on her bracelet. That bracelet...
looks very similar to what Bradley was wearing before he died!
Rosa says she's 'going to drop her'. Its weird how everyone speaks so mystery
here. Rosa explaint that she's actually letting Mila to sleep in her room,
because she seems to be lost. Furthermore, it was actually Jeff Angel of room
213 who hitchhiked her here.
Lastly, inform Rosa that he have gotten the wrong package. At that moment, the
person who got your package will ring up the phone. He will be taking your
package to your room, while Rosa will bring Mila, whom Kyle will link to as
Bradley's sister, to the sleeping room. Its now 5:20. Return to your room.

It'll be a good idea to speak with Jeff about Mila. It seems Jeff didn't know
her name until now. When asked why was she brought here, he said she requested
that. What? Stopped him and ask him again, in case you heard that wrong. Oh well
it seems she didn't actually talk to her, again. She got the hotel brochure.
Ask him the last question, for more chatting.
As you approaches your room, the door opened. A lady will step out from the room
216. She introduces herself as Iris.
Ask what is she confirming, and the conversation turned a little bad. She isn't
too fond of the idea of you staying acrossing her room. Louis shows up, and
joined in the talking. Finish the conversation with them and return to your
room.
- ROOM 215 -
As you walk to your suitcase, someone knocked on the door. Go open it.
If you told Iris that you were a salesman earlier on, Dunning will appear with
Iris. Explain the misunderstanding, and they will leave.
Whether the above scene occur or not, the following will take place.
Another guest shows up, and he's the one who got your parcel. He is Martin
Summer of room 211. His name sounds familiar if you ask him, but he'll say
maybe its because he's a writer. Exchange the swapped parcels and he will
leave.
Procure the "Client list" and the "Order Sheet", then call Rachel sweetie with
the phone.
Its time for some flashback. Those who played "Trace Memory" will find it
familiar =D Here're the answers:
1)To find certain items
2)That it grants wishes
3)Bradley
4)She wore a bracelet
5)A small red box

Goes to take the Paper Clip on the hotel brochure by the phone. "Use" the Paper
Clip. Drag the stylus on the blinking circle in the direction to straighten the
paper clip for the "Thin Wire". Use the item on the suitcase, and fumble a
little. Kyle will come to a realisation that its not working. He needs a thicker
wire...You might have noticed that the hanger near the door serves as that
replacement, but its nailed. There's nothing you can do, so exit to the hallway.
- HALLWAY -
The maid is at the hallway. Engage in a conversation with her. The conversation
will open up two questions.
When asked about Louie, you can take any actions you want. Of course, you are
recommended to ask as much details about the story as possible, but don't choose
"Spill it! Now!" because that's as far as you can go before she goes to report
to her boss about you nosing around, who'll then throw you out of the hotel.
Question about Mila after that too. She's curious why you're asking about her.
It doesn't matter which reason you gives, because both leads to the same path.
She'll agree to let you see her, but you'll have to wait until after 8. After
that, she'll leaves. Make a note in the memo, and head right. You'll heard a
whistle. Its from the Linens, so head there. Instead of knocking it, open it via
the door knob.
- LINENS -
You'll caught Louie looking at a magazine, slacking away. Go talk to him. During
the talking, Kyle will admit about getting fired from the force. The end of the
conversation open up two questions.
The top question about something left behind makes him gives you a hint on where
to find the red box: Dunning keeps the lost and found items in his office.
The lower choice open up 2 new questions, about the incident and Mila. The
choices you select from now on won't affect anything. Finish up the talking and
Louie departs.
Explore the room because there're some useful items here. Check out the blanket
shelf to examine the magazine Louie was looking at...its a nudie magazine with
Cecily Lee on the cover...the Men's Magazine on Ed's list.
Check out the locker in the corner near the door, and look into the toolbox.
There're 3 tools which you should take: a pair of pliers, crowbar and a
screwdriver. Now exit.

Along the way across the hall, the old granny appears. She introduces herself
"Helen Parker". The rest of the conversation are useless.
Instead of going to Dunning's office, head into your room because you haven't
yet taken your cash.
- ROOM 215 -
Face the hanger, and use the Pilers. You have to snap the Pilers at the right
spot:

Its a bad drawing, but whatever. Snap at the two spots indicated to get the
thick piece of wire. You have to cut at the right length, or else you have to
try again.
Goes to use the Thick Wire on your suitcase. Slot it into the keyhole. Push all
3 metals into their place and the suitcase will be opened.
There're quite an amount of items here, but you just need the stash of cash at
the corner below the pencil. Drag the pencil away so you can take the money.
Lastly, put the Client List into the suitcase before you head to Dunning's
Office.
- HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - LOBBY -
Head across the lobby to the door indicated Main Office. Knock on the door to
summon Dunning, and hand him the payment. He'll talk for a bit, and leaves. Make
use of the chance to enter his office for some ransacking. Grab the knob and
enter.
- MAIN OFFICE -
Goes to the desk, and check out the calendar. December 5th is marked on it.
Then, check out the notebook and you'll notice a card near it. Click on it to
open up a new question on Jenny. The notebook is a Supervisory Log reveal
some stuffs: the things left by guests are in Drawer 3, and the registration
cards are in Drawer "A".
The cabinet of Drawer 3 is just next to the desk. Check it. Drawer 3 is on the
upper-right corner, but you have to enter a 3 digit codes to unlock it. Notice
the paper at the bottom of the cabinet? You can attempt to take it out, but you
will tear it. If that's the case, take out the Crowbar, and lift the cabinet up
to take the other half. Alternately, just use the Crowbar and take out the paper
without tearing it into half. Make sure you don't level up the locker
haphazardly or else the ruckus will attract the owner of the hotel to toss you
out in no time.
Use the "Memo", and you'll see numbers and dots. Its dot-connecting time!
Simply connect the number to the next numbers with the same symbols using the
stylus.
Connect the numbers with the dots, the numbers with the triangles, and then the
numbers with the stars to reveal 3 numbers. You'll see 3 digits. The digit that
appear is random.
Make sure you touches all the symbols during the connecting. Now touch on
cabinet 3, and the combination lock on the upper-right corner. Drag the code to
the 3 digits you discovered to unlock the drawer, and obtain the small red box.
Next, check the drawer below the television. One of them files the registration
card. Peek it to find the registration cards of the "Kyle Hyde" that stayed here
a while ago. That Kyle stayed in Room 217 on June 30th, 1979. There's nothing
else of interest, so exit.

The first choices have no impact on anything.
Choose "Nah, it wasn't about you." to assure him that he's safe, or else he'll

Then, select "I guess I can trust him..." to make the talking smooth.
Eventually, he'll be surprise when you mention "Nile" to him. Ask for more. Keep

Rosa is smelling something wrong, so question what's bothering her. It doesn't
matter which choices you make here, and the next when she ask if you know Louie
from way back. When she ask about Louie's past, choose "Don't tell her anything"
to cover his ass. Eventually, she'll comment that Louie is pretty 'shifty'. Now
press on that triangle to stop her so she will not get so suspicious about you
and him. It doesn't matter which choices you make to change her thinking.

Dunning appears from the Left Hallway. Approaching him , and you can ask him
several questions.
DO NOT ask who's Jenny or about Dec 5th, or else he'll know that you have been

Louie and he'll allow you entrance to the door behind him.
- LEFT HALLWAY -
Louie's slacking away in his room. Knock on the door to get him open it.
The talking here is long one. Tap on the triangle, and then select the lower
choice. After Kyle tells Louie about Nile, tap on that triangle that'll appear,
and select "That's what LAPD says." to scares him. Ask if he takes the money,
for more rambling.
Now, ask why he leave Manhattan. It doesn't matter which one you choose, but I
will recommend on "'Cause Danny got killed" because it'll reveal more details.
Question on who steal the money. Again, Louie isn't responsible. He'll say
its the killer's deed.
Next, ask who killed Danny. Obviously its not Louie, so choose the upper one. He
will spill the bean: the killer is J.
Finally, ask the ultimate question: Who is J? It'll open up a string of
words from his mouth, and he'll pass you a photo. After a little talking, things
cleared up: Bradley is J!
Its time to end the chapter:

You'll see Melissa with her father here. Goes to listen what they are
talking about. It doesn't matter if you choose to interrupt the reprimanding of
the kid or not, nor the choices later after she left. Her father will introduce
himself as Kevin Woodward. He'll find your name familiar though...Choose
"I don't follow that" to open up a new question where he's thinking whether you
talk to her about her mother. He'll soon leaves after a bit of rambling.
Enter the restaurant.
- RESTAURANT (corridor) -
Have a conversation with the bellhop, who's playing host to the restaurant. He
will talk open stuffs, and then talk about the 6 months vacancies. Choose
either one of them, and he'll name the rooms ...217, 220 and 218.
Ask the two questions in your mind, and he'll end the talking. You'll meet
Miss Iris at the door entrance. It doesn't matter if you care about what's she
is in deep though with. She'll soon talk about the awful child that says mean
things at her. After that, a triangle will appear soon after she learnt the
name of the girl who threw the rag doll. If you press the triangle and choose
either of the selections, you'll piss her off eventually. However, if you skip
the triangle and she'll leave anyway, but in a calmer and better mood. This
way, she'll have a slightly better impression of you.
Enter the restaurant.
- RESTAURANT -
Check out the table to the south nearest to the door. Procure the rag doll on
the chair. Putting two and two together, it seems to belong to Melissa.
Take a seat at the middle table, and Rosa will whip out a nice dinner. Mr.Summer
reveal his face after your meal, asking if you have seen something that's to be
with the book. He ask if you could go search for it. Select the top question and
he'll tell you that he's looking for a bookmark. Finish up the talking with him
and then with Rosa. Depart from the restaurant.

You'll see Mila standing near the bellhop. Communicate with her, and then
Louie will managed to ask her to return to her room. Speak with Louie after
that.

Exit the corridor to the hallway.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - RESTAURANT (corridor) -
Approach Mila and try to talk to her again. Rosa will finally appear and get her
back to the room. As you return to your room, you'll bump into Helen.
Be a nice guy and accompany the lady to the restaurant. Its not a far trip.
Doing so makes you in her good book too. This is optional...
If you escort her to the restaurant, Louis will yell at you when you attempt to
saunter through the restaurant door out to the hallway. If not, he'll stop you
after you rejected the old lady. Eitherway, he'll pass you a pen with something
engraved on it...
Now, you have to sprinkle some powder onto the pen. There are two methods:
the first is to enter the kitchen where Rosa and Louis are. On the east side,
there is a flour sack with a hole. Use the fountain pen and click on the flour
spilled from the hole.
The other is by using the chalk by the restaurant menu board at the central
doorway.
Sprinkle the powder onto the body of the pen. Then when you gets the close-up
on the pen, instead of blowing into the mic of your DS (which will scatter away
all the powders), tap on the touch-screen to slowly remove the powders.
Goes to speak with Louis, and you'll return it to Louis.
Proceed back to the 2F.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - HALLWAY -
You'll 'recall' to return the doll as you near your room. Knock on door 219 to
call out the girl. Return the rag doll to Melissa, and ask about her dad. Soon
she will invite you to her room...>=D
- ROOM 219 -
Speak with Melissa, who directs you to the table. Click on the puzzle box to
start the jigsaw puzzle. This time, its slightly harder because you have to
fill in all the pieces, but not THAT hard. Just start with the sides if you
really have some difficulties!
She'll talks with you, and reveal her birthday to be June 29th. As she sob,
Kyle will recall about the message at the back of the puzzle...
The complete puzzle is on the left side of the DS screen. Close your DS
cover, and the back of the puzzle will be on the right, as if you have just
flipped the puzzle!
Speak with her dad after he returned, and you'll get kicked out.

6:40 P.M.

You'll 'remember' that Summer have asked you to find his bookmark. Goes back to
your room.
- ROOM 215 -
Examine the right box, and tap all sides of the box several times. You'll see
the thing sliding from the inside flap of the box. Drag the bookmark out from
the flap. You have to return it to Summer.
- HALLWAY -
Goes to room 211 where Summer stays. Knock on his door to get him out. Hand him
the bookmark, and talk a bit about the painter of the bookmark, Osterzone. It
seems Summer is quite a fan of the decreased painter and his final work, the
"Angel Opening A Door".
Head back to your room and you'll hear something as you walk. Go knock on
door 218 and you'll hear Melissa sobbing in it!
So how do you unlock it? Remember how Louis said he should be able to get you
into any room? And how he's slacking at the restaurant corridor? Well go find
him!
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - RESTAURANT (corridor) -
Louis says that the switchboard's on the blink...and then realised he have
forgotten to lock the door up! He'll request your assistance to fix up the
mess in the electricity room.
It doesn't matter which route you take. Make your way to the Electrical Room
located oppposite Louis' room.
- ELECTRICAL ROOM -
Check out the switchboard with the cover removed.
Drag and hole one of the switches up, and then drag the other switch up too.
Now make your way to Room 218!
- HALLWAY -
knock on the door, but the knob is still locked. Try to use the wire trick again
to unlock the door. Kyle will discard the wire before entering.
- ROOM 218 -
Enter Room 218 and speak with Melissa. Tap on "Things aren't going well?" and
then "Why do you think that?" to advance the story, as well as to speak in a
tone that won't annoy her.
When you ask if she knows why his father lied, choose the above selection,
although both leads to nothing. Make her feel ever better by telling her that it
wasn't her fault that her mum left them, after you asked if she knows why she
left them. Melissa thinks so too, and she suspected that she left because she
was always quarreling with Kevin. This will open up a new question about their
quarrels.
Again, it doesn't matter which one you choose for when you talk more about her
mum, but its better to make her feel better ya? Says that his father probably
have a clue or two about her mother's situation.
If you still have the last question, which talks about the quarrel, then talk
to her about it. That should wrap up the talking with her.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Mr. Kevin appears. Speak with him about his daughter, and he'll say that he was
at the rooftop at that time. Speaking of that...maybe you should explore the
rooftop now?
- ROOF -
You'll notice a figure there. Go approach the person. It turns out to be Iris.
The conversation you have with her all leads to the same path eventually, but
here are the suggestion picks to get out the most details.
Says that you are here to get some fresh air, because if you pick the one about
seeing her here, it'll just freak her out and she'll leave immediately. Then,
pick the one about if she's lonely here and she'll say that she was here all
along and that there's no one came. That includes Kevin...!
Something is fishy here...Either way, she'll leaves and now you will be
re-organising your thoughts:
1)Melissa
2)A bookmark
3)Osterzone
4)Room 218
5)On the roof

Jeff is making a big scene over the front desk with Dunning. It doesn't matter
which selection you make, but the above will make Dunning gives his opinion on
Jeff, who is obviously a spoilt young brat. At this moment, Mr. Summer returned,
and ask for a newspaper.
If you choosed the selection of Dunning's opinion about Jeff, you can't talk to
Summer now, and attempt to head towards the lobby and a cutscene will follows,
prompting you to go to Dunning to talk about what Jeff was shouting about. From
here on, the conversation that follows will be similar to what he'll say if you
choose "Fill me in" earlier on instead.
Eitherway, he'll let you know that Jeff have lost something. When he refuses to
tell you, it doesn't matter what your response is, even if you choose to let it
slide.
Attempt to walk back to the lobby doorway and you'll 'recall' that you need
Summer's signing.
Go speak with Summer now. He'll delay the signing, asking you to meet him in his
room for the signature instead. Before that, he mentioned a burglary case which
involves his friend.
Read the paper after he left. The top left article is what he mentioned, and
$20000 , along with a pistol, were stolen. That amount of money was what you
found! Read the bottom article, and it talks about an Evans Collection
Exhibition. The personal ad on the right page reveal one interesting thing,
where a person "H" is finding Alan Parker in a hotel.
Approach the lobby.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7:40 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- LOBBY -
Rosa is by the doorway, and forbid you to step into the Hallway. It doesn't
matter which approach you make, because eventually you'll have to ask her about
the other set of stairs.
Head towards the northern-east corner and open the staff-only door.
- RIGHT HALLWAY -
The doors here are locked, so don't bother trying. Climb the stairs.
- HALLWAY -
Walk around and Dunning shows up from the Utility Closet. He'll talk about some
items that have been stolen or went missing, and he's considering to take up
Jeff's suggestion to search through every guests' belonging to locate his
missing stuffs and Jeff's money. It doesn't sounds good of course, since you're
the culprit. Of course, after he left, it is best that you hide and return all
of the suspicious items to their places.
Make sure the following items are in the respective places:
locker in Linens:
- Pliers
- Crowbar
- Screwdriver
suitcase in Room 215:
- Memo
- Room 217 Key
- Small Red Box
- Stack of Cash
Knock on Room 211.
- ROOM 211 -
Speak with him. The first set of questions have no impact at all. After that,
present Summer's Novel, and then the fountain pen to get him signing. After that
choose either of the approach, and he'll say that Alan is his real name.
Present the Summer's Novel for the second time to really get his signature, and
excuse himself to take a leak. Click on the brown book on the table and then
you will exit the room after the scene.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Its time to find Rosa, but when you descend the stairs, Iris head up and warn
you about the spot-check that Dunning is conducting. If you haven't get this,
this is the last chance to remove any suspicious items from your body!
Get to the kitchen for Rosa.
- KITCHEN -
Go talk to her, and present the Summer's Novel. After a long rumbling, its time
to return to Room 211 to expose Summer!
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Knock on the door and enter the room.
- ROOM 211 -
Talk to him, and pause his talking. Choose "But if you can do it..." Then,
choose "Different handwriting" , and the "Your name is not Alan!" to proceed
the talking.
Ask why is he so pissed off when you said you peeked at his book, then choose
"It exposes you!". The other selection will make him send you back to your room
feeling like a loser, resulting in game failure.
Ask about who's the one who pen the novel, and choose either of the 2 statements
since both leads to the same path: proof.
Compare the two signings, and you'll see the difference: the "er" part. Use the
stylus to circle them. If you have no luck getting past this, press "SELECT" on
your Nintendo DS. =P Its meant to be hidden from the gamers, but two rectangles
will appear to highlight the parts. Make sure your circles doesn't touches the
line of the rectangles.
End the rest of the queries and he'll eventually reveal his secrets.
Summary:
1)An old photo
2)Get an autograph
3)A fountain pen
4)Summer's real name
5)He stole a friend's work

- ROOM 215 -
The phone rings the moment you attempt to go out. Speak with Rachel to learn
more about Osterzone. After the phone chat, proceed to Central Hallway.
- HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Jeff emerged, and asked if Dunning said anything to him. No matter what you said
will lead to the same outcome. Goes on to ask him about what item has been taken
from him. He will refuses to tell you initially.
If you tap on the triangle to stop him, you can either ask if he have lost
$20,000, or just continue to prompt him for the answer.
Asking if he have lost $20,000 will make his face black, in which Mr. Dunning
will emerge to search your body. At this moment, if you have the cash, you'll be
toss out of the hotel and the game will be over! You should not have the cash in
your possession if you choose to ask if he have lost the cash, or you can choose
the other choice which makes Kyle to continue prompting him for the answer.
Either way, Mr. Dunning will emerge, and Jeff will storms off after a bit more
of talk. Finishes up all of the doubts in your mind. When on the topic on Jeff
with him, he'll say that he find this punk weird.
Its 8:00pm if you haven't noticed, the time where Rosa said you can go visit the
mute girl.
Access the Right Hallway and enter Rosa's room for the first time.
- LOBBY - RIGHT HALLWAY -
You'll see Rosa outside her room, and is glad that you shows up. Accepting the
request to look after the sick Mila will appease the maid, and this will gives
her a good impression of you.
If you choose the other one, it'll lead to the same path though.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8:20 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- ROSA's ROOM -
Mila is asleep in the room. Wake her up by tapping her, and attempt to engage
in a conversation with her. Grab your notebook as she writes down the name of
the person who gives her the bracelet. Read the notebook, and after a bit more
of the scene, she'll scribble down the name of her papa. Take and read the book
one more time to learn the name "Robert Evans". Rosa will shows up with the
medicine and shoos you out.
- RIGHT HALLWAY -
As you saunter down the hall, you'll bump into Dunning, who suggest you to
return
to your room because he's tightening up the security around the places thanks to
the missing stuffs. Obey his wish, and climb the stairs.
- HALLWAY - ROOM 215 -
Goes to the bed, and you'll hear a knock. Open it to find Melissa outside, who
ask for your help to repair her doll.
The mini sewing machine comes in handy here. Take it from the left box on the
bed, and talk to Melissa again. Take her doll and now you'll be sewing the wing
of the doll in exactly the same way you sew up the patient's wound in Trauma
Center DS. Drag your stylus along the zig-zag line and she'll cheer. After that,
she'll mention something that's extremely suspicious: apparently Jeff entered
your room a while ago.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8:40 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- HALLWAY -
Attempt to confront Jeff by summoning him through knocking on his door. However,
he's not in his room. As you ponder what to do, you'll recall him coming out
of the left hallway. Maybe you'll know his whereabout if you search that area.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Enter the door on the left to the left hallway, and goes into the Laundry room.
- LAUNDRY ROOM -
Search the linen cart, and procee to remove the laundry to the side. Tap on the
white sheet, then remove the upper portion of the cart to reveal a weapon
hidden underneath it. Tap on the pistol.
At this moment, Louie shows up, and ask why are you here. Reply with a "I found
something good." If you respond with "Mind your own business!", it'll lead
to another set of responses, which are "That's not true." and "That's right!".
Choosing "That's right" here will agitate him further, and when it does, he'll
goes to report to Dunning, who'll search you and send you out of the hotel. You
won't want that to happen, so choose "That's not true" to prevent that from
happening. However, it is best that you choose "Look what I've found here"
previously.
After telling him your experience with Jeff, and putting two and two together,
sneaky Louie decides to come up with a plan to lure Louie out from his room so
you can go in and check his room. Prefering a "Distraction" will make Louie
lure Jeff to Room 214, while the other choose makes Louie bring Jeff to the
utility closet.
Head to Room 217.
- LEFT HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - HALLWAY - ROOM 217 -
Lets not be dumb enough to enter the room where Louie will be hiding Jeff, or
else you'll get caught and Dunning shows up to slam you a game over. Enter Room
213.
- HALLWAY - ROOM 213 -
Goes to the rectangular table and check his coat by the hanger. Pull out the
Jeff's student ID from the pocket, then the key from his bag on the couch.
Jeff caught you in his room before you can step out. Its a great timing to
expose him. During the confrontation, select "You hid cash in my john" and then
"I got an eyewitness" to progress the story.
At the end of the talk, he'll ask for proofs. The evidences you'll need are the
following:
Pistol
Jeff's student ID
Duplicate Room 215 Key
lobby newspaper
Stash of Cash
Previously, you're unable to take the newspaper, but you'll be able to do so
once you leave his room. Proceed to the front desk.
- HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - LOBBY - FRONT DESK -
Grab the paper from the table, and return to the 2F.
- LOBBY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - HALLWAY - ROOM 215 -
Return to your room to pocket the stolen $20,000 from your suitcase, and now
goes to Jeff.
- HALLWAY - ROOM 213 -
Knock on his door so you can enter the room. Then, shove all of the evidences
into his face. After that, push the questions to him one by one.
Presenting the lobby newspaper, Duplicate Room 215 Key and Stash of Cash make
him talk about the cash he plant in your room. Pick "You wanted trouble"
to learn more about the backstory, despite the other choice affecting nothing.
This will leads to "Who do I sound like?", then "Your old man that bad?"
Present the Pistol to make him open up the topic on the pistol. Pick "You
wanted it found", which leads to a new topic: "Why put the gun there?"
Showing the Jeff's student ID causes him to speak on his real name: Jeff Damon.
It'll open up a new topic: "You hate your dad's name?"
Note that if you screw up any of the choices in the queries, Jeff will send you
back to your room which result in game failure, so be careful. After you have
read through the responses from the following 3 topics, He'll dictate his
story to you at the end:
- Your old man that bad?
- Why put the gun there?
- You hate your dad's name?
At then, Kyle will toss the cash, gun and the student ID on the floor, followed
by some talkings that will put PW's Detective Gumshoes to shame.
Knowing Jeff's story leads to the 5 set of questions that will follows with the
end of the chapter.
1)Did Dunning say anything?
2)Robert Evans
3)a gun
4)Jeff's Student ID
5)Lawyer

Just like in the beginning in most chapters, the phone will ring. Speaking with
Ed should connect more dots of the story. After the call, goes to the bar.
- HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - RESTAURANT (corridor) - BAR -
Your pal Louis greets you by the counter, and enjoy some happy time. He goes on
to interest you with the jukebox and the matchbox mini-games. The time goes on
and soon Helen came by for a visit. If you haven't, talk with Louis about the
guest with your name months ago. Drill him until all your doubts have been
cleared.
Explore the bar, and check out the jukebox. It plays all the soundtrack musics
of the game, except those which you haven't heard yet thus far. Do take note of
the sticker on the right side too.
Examine the matchsticks near Helen and touch them for some optional mini-games.
The first requires you to pick out 4 sticks for 3 squares. Here're the diagrams
to illustrate which sticks to remove.

Attempt to flirt with Helen, who'll start rumbling about her life and such. She
will invite you to a coin game, which you have to form 2 lines of 4 coins,
horizontally and vertically at the same time.
She says that you only need to move 1 coin. The initial setup looks like this:
O
O
OOO
O
The coin you need to move and the position are as follow:
1
O
O2O
O
Stack coin 1 on top of coin 2. This doesn't make sense if you view it from a
bird-eye view perspective, but imagine viewing it from the sideway, you'll get
the answer.
The delighted lady is amused , and offer to tell more of her story as a reward.
Louis send her back to her room, while you are told to look after this place.
Click on your drink or the jukebox by the counter and Iris came by, suggesting
that you two drink together. Kyle isn't in the mood, but choosing "No thanks"
to reject her is more polite.
Click on either your alcohol/jukebox or solve the matchbox sticks puzzles to
initiate the appearance of another hotel guest: Summer. Mr. Shakespear hope to
apologize for ending their previous encounter an embarassing one. At this
moment, Iris take her leaves.
Summer remarked that something is weird...prompt him for more with either
choices, and he'll say that she looks kinda familiar. Summer make some
ridiculous deduction on your trailing of Osterzone. He'll leave sooner or
later.
As you touches your alcohol to ready for another sip, you're interrupted by
someone opening the door again. This time its Louis, back from his duty. Now you
can send the task of looking after the place back to him and depart.

9:20 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- RESTAURANT (corridor) -
Rosa is busy cleaning as always, but enough to engage in a chatting with you.
She'll suggest you to look for Dunning for more history lesson concerning this
hotel. Enter the restaurant to locate the man.
- RESTAURANT -
Dunning's by the piano. Talk to him for updates about the background of the
place. He'll inform you that Jeff's case have been solved (as if you don't know)
and resume his work. Leave the place.
- RESTAURANT (corridor) -
The way Rosa calls Kyle doesn't sounds nice. She throws a simple task to you,
but promised a free breakfast once done. Enter the kichen.
- KITCHEN -
Locate the two wines. One on the desk, and another in the southern-west corner
of the room. Enter the restaurant.
- RESTAURANT (corridor) - RESTAURANT -
Spot the wine by the nearest table, then head up to the 2F.
- RESTAURANT (corridor) - CENTRAL HALLWAY - HALLWAY -
Knock on Room 211 and query Summer on his drink, followed by Room 216's Iris.
When that's done, get back to your room.
- ROOM 215 -
Open up the parcel on the bed send by Ed and take out the adhesive remover.
Finally, make your way to the kitchen.
- KITCHEN -
Attempt to use the adhesive remover onto the bottle of wine by the corner.
Spread onto the entire surface of the label. Peel off the label starting from
the top-right corner. Once you obtain the item, head up to Room 212.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Bang on the door to ask for the lady.
- ROOM 212 -
The eye-patched woman appreciate your help, and invite you into the room for a
chat.
She reminisce about the time 10 years ago but remain a little tight-lipped
about it. Hand over the Label.
You'll start to push for answers. Choose "C'mon. I'm just curious" , and then
"You don't know, do you?" to talk to her in a good tone and to proceed with the
story. Choosing the other options will only annoy her.
Query her with "Who was this person?" and select "You care about him". Choosing
"You hate him" closes the conversation and offend her. Apparently, ol' granny
betrayed that person.
When ask about contacting that fellow, choosing "He forgot all about you" will
only make a negative reaction, so select "You miss him too much."
Helen reveal the son's name as "Alan...PARKER". Now that's more than a
coincidence here! He was the person whom Summer betrayed isn't it? To confirm
this theory, Kyle will decide to goes to Mr. Summer for the pen.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Bang on room 211 and Marin Summer comes out. Get the fountain pen from the
writer, and goes back to Room 212.
- ROOM 212 -
Shows her the fountain pen. Now we're making some connections here!
She'll spill her sad and touching story, followed by some thoughts reorganising:

3)Red Wine

Strange...no phone call this time? Anyway, maybe its time Louie is free to spend
some time drinking with you?
- HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - RESTAURANT (corridor) - BAR -
Nagivate to the bar, and speak with your buddy. He rattles on after getting your
order (scotch or martini, it doesn't matter), and serves your drink. He'll
talk about his dream, and invite you to a game of bowling at 11pm. At then,
Summer emerged.
Spend some time involve in chatting with him, and talk about Alan rather than
the plagiarism, but both should leads to the same point. When ask who Kyle told
the news about his stolen work to, admit the truth that you told Helen Parker,
but if you choose the other one, you'll lied that the person is Rosa. Not that
it matters. Ask what he was intending to tell you, and he'll say that Iris
resemble the girl on the men's magazine...Cecily Lee. After a bit of talk, you
will want to return to your room.
The matchbox stick puzzles are refreshed, so go try 'em. Head out.
- RESTAURANT (corridor) -
You'll see Melissa idling here, and she's looking for her dad. Melissa's feeling
pretty lonely here, but you can cheer her up by giving her a Pinkie Rabbit
Doll (read on the mini-game section at the later portion of the FAQ on how to
obtain it). Seeing her happy should bring a smile on your face isn't it?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10:20 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
You'll bump into Rosa, who's forever cleaning the place! She'll ask if you have
any idea why does Melissa look so sad when she goes up to the 2F. Explain the
situaion to her and she'll feel pity for her. After asking where is the
christmas tree that they have kept, its time to make a move to the storage room.
It is located past Rosa's room on the east wing.
- LOBBY - RIGHT HALLWAY - STORAGE -
Click on the box and now you'll have to find the tree hidden among the boxes.
Drag the boxes away to the right until you can see the tree box. Then, cute
Melissa will emerge, and ask if she can join in the decoration of the tree.
Hook on the decorations to the hooks with the same color as 'em, and add the
final touch with the star at the peak of the tree. In the midst of this
heart-warming scene, Mila and Louis appear to join in the party.
The small girl will fall asleep after you spoke to her, and Louis will be told
to send her back to her room. You're alone with Mila now, so grab the chance to
dig information from her. Speak with her by the notebook, and you'll learn that
she spend Christmas alone. She'll also reveal that her father works in Gallery
May at Santa Monica. At then, Rosa appear and fetch Mila back to her room, and
bid you goodbye.
One of the lockers in this room contain the "Black Light" item. Taking the item
is optional, but it will assist you in a puzzle near the end of the game.
- RIGHT HALLWAY -
At the intersection, you'll see that the door to Dunning's Room is opened.
Grab the opportunity and enter the room.
- DUNNING'S ROOM -
Goes to have a close examination with the framed photo of a girl at the back of
the room, before Dunning comes in. Luckily, he gives you a chance and didn't
haul your ass out of here.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10:40 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- RIGHT HALLWAY -
Get to the lobby.
- LOBBY -
Kevin is standing in front of the vending machine. As you walk up to lecture on
his parenting, you'll see that he's actually drunk. He'll stumble his way away
after a bunch of nonsenses. Tail the drunkard to the front desk.
- FRONT DESK -
He'll ignore you, and in a confused state, you'll come to the conclusion that
he have been drinking with someone. Head into the bar to see who was his
companion.
- LOBBY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - RESTAURANT (corridor) - BAR -
Iris totters out as soon as you arrives. Now go ahead and talk to Louie.
Ask about the girl, but he have absolutely no clue about it. Ask about the
'dynamic duo' and he'll say that Iris and Kevin were having a fun time here
a while ago.
Figure its time to seek answer from Iris. Exit from the bar and goes to her
room.
- RESTAURANT (corridor) - CENTRAL HALLWAY - HALLWAY -
Knock on the door to get Iris out. She'll invite you in, just like some of the
previous guests.
- ROOM 216 -
She'll talk about something being odd here...Do not annoy her with the response
of being odder than her, or she'll kick you out of the room. Flows with the
talking, and question if she lost anything. She lost something, but she doesn't
want to report it to Dunning. Finishes up the rest of the doubts with Miss Iris,
and you'll walk out of her room.
- HALLWAY -
So you're tasked to search for an envelope. As you walk, you'll bump into the
surgeon, Kevin.
It'll be a good idea to go to the front desk to see if there's any clue on the
lost-and found stuffs.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - LOBBY - FRONT DESK -
You'll see Kevin here again. He's apparently irritated by your constant
harassing, and refuses to leak anything. He'll try to slip his way past you, but
all you have to do here is to stand firm.
Ask about Iris, and question if this is the first time they meet. He said yes,
and that Iris knows Grace. To link 'em up, Grace is the wife of Kevin. that
Iris is a friend of Kevin's wife, Grace, who works in Gallery May owned by the
father of Mila.
Accuse him that he's the fault that she left.
After telling him the theory that she left him because he's just behaving like a
loser, Kevin will then pour out his sorrows.
Apparently Kevin have lost a malpractice court case due to a failure operation
on a patient two years ago. While Grace wanted to come up with the money to pay
for the lawsuit and stuffs, Kevin thinks that it is better he not drag her down
and prefer a divorce. Then, the money somehow appeared.
While the case was solved, it doesn't improve their relationship much. In fact,
they started quarreling over the origin of the cash. The situation got so worse
that she went missing after that.
After Kevin departed, Kyle will take some time to think back and summarize the
happenings:
1)Melissa
2)Storage
3)Louie
4)Gallery May
5)A small envelope

- ROOM 215 -
If you thought you'll start this chapter without a phone call...you're wrong.
After requesting assistance to dig up details concerning Evans and the art
gallery, it is now time to go out to search for the envelope and a bowling game
or two.
- HALLWAY -
Get to the opposite end of the hallway and check out the utility closet.
- UTILITY CLOSET -
Look into the garbage can and grab the cassette tape, and a discarded envelope
of Iris. That's all you need to find in this room. Now get out.
- HALLWAY -
Iris isn't in her room, so might as well spend time bowling in the bar while
waiting for her.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - RESTAURANT (corridor) - BAR -
Request to borrow his cassette player from his room, but he said that the
buttons are spoilt. The matchbox games have new puzzles too. Return to your
room.
- RESTAURANT (corridor) - CENTRAL HALLWAY - HALLWAY - ROOM 215 -
Procure the pencil from your suitcase, and goes to Louie's room.
- HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - LEFT HALLWAY - LOUIS'S ROOM -
After you attempt to use the cassette onto the player set, you'll realised that
you need some winding before you can lay it.
Click on the pencil, then click on the cassette. Proceed to wind it by dragging
the stylus down on the pencil. Once done, slot the item into the player.
If you attempt to use Louis's ballpoint pen, you'll realise that the surface is
too round for the task.
Side A plays normal music, but Side B plays what you need to listen to. Its
some speeches but they're unclear.
Louis emerged and both of you examine the content of the cassette. After the
discussion, it is concluded that the answers can only be derived from Iris.
- LEFT HALLWAY - HALLWAY -
Knock on door 216 to seek Iris. Speak with her on what is she doing with the
cassette tape. Present the tape to her, apparently the item in her envelope.
She'll have no choice except to invite you into her room for a little chat.
- ROOM 216 -
Of course, you are not gonna return it unless she shed some light on the
content of the cassette tape.
Pick "I don't follow you." to progress the story. Choosing "Why bring it here?"
will only anger her further.
Similarly, believe her that she doesn't know the doc in advance by picking
"You didn't know?" as the other one creates a negative result.
"Lets talk about the plan" leads to two questions. "Grace is here" gives Iris
and black face, so "The tape is insurance" is what you need to choose. She
says that it is to be given to the guy who paints an angel.
Next, interrogate her about the doll. Select "You recognised it." to continue
the doll plot.
When talk about Grace, select "Its because she vanished" and Kyle will continue
the rattle, linking the dots together. Eventually, Iris gives up concealing her
secret from you.
She reveals that she is actually a sister of Grace, and that their mum have
died from a plane crash occurred in L.A during 1960. After that, they got
seperated. While Grace found success in her life, Iris ran away and took up the
job of an actress until Grace tracked her down thanks to the agency who featured
her in a photoshot for a magazine. Grace requested an enormous sum of money from
her but she doesn't have that kind of thing, so Grace have no choice but to did
something terrible for her family...Soon after that she instructed Iris to go to
Hotel Dusk to deliver an envelope to a guy.

You must be confused with everything by now, so head to Louis's room to seek for
him.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - LEFT HALLWAY - LOUIS'S ROOM -
Goes to talk to Louis and make things more clear, meanwhile enlisting his help
on something. Louis says that those are the things for later, because its time
for them to roll!
Navigate out.
- LEFT HALLWAY -
Louis says that the bowling game will take place here! Now go enjoy this mini-
game of bowling with gameplay so good that'll put Elf Bowling 1 & 2 to shame.
Louis's ball will hit Dunning's favorite plant pot on the 3rd roll! The good
news that could possible comes here is that they discovered something...
Pocket the small key and Rosa will appear. She will start lecturing on Louis
before notifying both of you that Mila have went missing.
Both adults will split their search region. Your buddy goes to search the
first floor, while you are to scan the second floor.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - HALLWAY - ROOF -
To make the search short, here's where Mila is: The Roof.
Stroll to her, and tap on her shoulder to grab her attention. Communicate with
her using the notepad again to see what Rosa have said to her. Rosa have told
her that she knows her father...?!
Its bizzare how even an ordinary employee of Hotel Dusk can get involve in this
whole mess here.

Escort Mila to Rosa's room.
- HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - LOBBY - RIGHT HALLWAY -

Navigate to the door at the eastern wall behind Rosa as instructed.
At the corner of the room, touch on the top photo. Next, view the lower photo.
If you still can't tell, that lady is Rosa. There's one more framed photo by the
side. Its one of the later photo apparently, and that guy looks to be her son.
Attempt to open the door to seek Rosa, but she'll come in as you are going to
step out. Engage in a conversation relating to her husband, then switch the
topic to Mila. Select "C'mon Rosa. Don't lie" so she won't get agitated. Next,
choose "Rosa... Come on, now." to coax her to leak the details. As you continue
to interrogate her, she'll stumble more.
Start with the topic concerning the phamplet first. If you select "My brochure",
that will only make you look stupid, so select "Mila's brochure." She'll say
that she made the deduction that she is looking for someone who once stayed in
Hotel Dusk as she is holding the brochure.
Talk about Mila's father. Actually...she KNOWS something, otherwise that'll be
contradicting with what Mila said on the rooftop. However, she reveals nothing
useful.
Lastly, chat about the promise. Since everything thus far have connected to
each other, its a very high chance that the person is someone you'll know, so
choose "Someone I know.", or she'll mock about your poor intuition and then,
game over.
As she talks about the secret, it turned out to be just an misunderstanding...
After you ask about the painting, tries to exit.
- RIGHT HALLWAY -
As you get close to the intersection, your pager beeps. Now drag your feet back
to your room.
- HALLWAY - ROOM 215 -
Pick up the phone and dial the numbers to Ed.

CHAPTER 9

\------------------------------------------------------------------------------/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12:00 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- ROOM 215 -
As you walk away from the painting, Kyle will glance at the painting and recall
about what Rosa said. Actually, get close to the painting and take a close look
on it to see if you can find any clue. Scroll to the second apple from the left
and click on the "Y" painted into it. Kyle makes a note in his notepad.
There're other similar paintings too, and maybe they contain other letters too.
Exit the room and get to Room 217.
- HALLWAY - ROOM 217 -
There're only 4 apples for this painting. Just between the left apple and the
frame is the letter "N". Now, get to the hallway.
- HALLWAY -
Inspect the painting facing the stairs in the hiddle of the hallway. The
letter "E" is hidden on the upper-right corner on this two-apples painting.
To locate the 4th painting, descend the stairs.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY -
Walk across the hallway to examine the painting. In this apple trio painting,
you'll find the letter "N" in the second apple, just like the one in your room.
You've no idea where's the last one, so maybe you should look around. Proceed
to the lobby.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12:20 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- LOBBY -
Louis appeared and isn't too fond of the idea that you made him look like a fool
by not telling him that you have already found and delivered her back to Rosa.
After asking him the questions, his boss arrived to send him back to the bar.
Head towards Rosa's room.
- RIGHT HALLWAY -
Knock on her door and she'll come out to allow you access to her room.
- ROSA'S ROOM -
Speak with Rosa, and also query her about the last apple painting. She'll point
your direction to the 'special room', which is the Room 111. She'll let you in,
but you'll have to sneak around. After she leaves, you'll bring Mila along.
- RIGHT HALLWAY - HALLWAY -
Here's the tricky part. You have to get to Room 111, but you can't go using the
direct route. (which means you can't go to the lobby from this hallway or else
the hotel owner will find you suspicious and throw you out of the hotel). Goes
up the stairs to the 2F from here, then get to the central hallway to reach the
lobby, hence the 'sneaking around' Rosa was advising.
- LOBBY -
Click on the door knob of 111 to enter.
- ROOM 111 -
Approach and use the door at the back of the room.
- ROOM 111 (inside) -
Click on the painting to search for the letter. The letter is located below the
apple...its hard to miss it!
With all the letters found, its time to link all of them together to form a
word...or rather, the name. Touch the letters in this order to get a name:
J-E-N-N-Y
Exit the room.
- ROOM 111 -
Rosa will scream when you emerge. Turn around and you'll find Mila unconscious
on the floor. Rosa will panic, and request you to do something.
"You've got to put your face next to hers, Mr. Hyde!", Rosa said if you poke
the girl. Blowing into the mic won't help as the air wouldn't reach her, so to
perform mouth-to-mouth, you'll have to close your DS.
Alternatively, you can just keep tapping her until she wakes up.
Mila will regain her voice when she become awake.
Drill her until the doubts are removed from your head, then exit.
- LOBBY -
Kevin greets you as you emerged. Talk with him until the topics run out, and the
pager will beep. Head back to your room to make a phone call.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - HALLWAY - ROOM 215 -
Give Ed a ring via the phone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12:40 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Open the door to see Rosa by the door, who's requesting you to search for the
missing Mila! Apparently her boss have taken her away and haven't returned yet.
Lets head to Dunning's room to see what is he hiding!
- HALLWAY - CENTRAL HALLWAY - LOBBY - RIGHT HALLWAY -
Louie shows up before you enter the room. Talk for a bit, and then you'll enter
his room.
- DUNNING'S ROOM -
Eye the picture on the small shelf for a look of Jenny, the daughter of Dunning.
Pocket the old paint from the refrigerator, then go through the south-east
door.
- DUNNING'S ROOM (inside) -
The desk at the corner should pique your curiosity. Touch and procure the
blue old brochure, and you'll also get to glance at a map of the wine cellar.
Notice the circled portion on the map. Next, obtain the Osterzone article. The
items on the desk demostrate Dunning's hobby of woodcarving. Hmm woodcarving and
an paint...Dunning sure is the artistic sort. Open up the drawer to see a bunch
of birthday cards addressed to Jenny.
With these clues, its time to get to the wine cellar for your buddy. Its the
last unexplored room on the west wing of the 1F, on the northern-west corner of
the pantry.
- DUNNING'S ROOM - RIGHT HALLWAY -
You'll stop for a while to think about something. Eitherway, continue the
tracking.
- CENTRAL HALLWAY - LEFT HALLWAY - PANTRY -
Before you steps in, Kyle's will make another end-of-chapter mental summary...
1)Room 217
2)JENNY
3)Nine years old
4)Robbins
5)Birthday cards
- WINE CELLAR -
You'll discover Louis on the ground. As you goes to wake him up, you'll find
yourself a victim of an ambush from someone.

CHAPTER 10
December 29th 1979
/------------------------------------------------------------------------------\
| 02:00 A.M. ------------------------------------------------------------------|
\------------------------------------------------------------------------------/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
02:00 A.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll be in a coma before Rosa wakes you and Louis up. After that, you will
goes into a conversation with Louis.
Remember the circled portion on the map? Its hidden behind the north alcohol
shelf obviously, and you'll have to shift it. Inspect it, and touch on the case
of whiskey at the lower-right bottom. When you take a closer look, you'll see
that there're 3 bottles, and 1 empty space for a 4th.
There's 2 half-bottom whiskey bottles on the other 2 shelfs. You'll find one on
the top left corner of the right shelf, and the other on the top-right corner at
the left shelf.
Take one of the bottle, walk over to the other shelf, and take the bottle from
your inventory. Click on the other bottle to transfer and combine the 2 whiskey
bottles into one for the "Whiskey Bottle".
Place the item into the box where the other 3 bottles are in the north shelf and
you will hear a click. Note that if you try to place the half-filled bottle into
the box, it wouldn't work, and Rosa will hint to you that you're doing something
wrong instead.
Click on the shelf itself to reveal a hidden door.
Rosa and Louis will awe in shock. Louis will volunteer to go along with you to
explore the area behind that door, but you'll decide that its better for him to
stay here.
Step into the last portion of the hotel.
- UNDERPASS -
Walk down this empty, hollow hallway to the end to the basement. Remove the bar
away and enter.
- BASEMENT -
The moment you touch any thing here, someone will comes to seal the room from
outside! From that moment onward, as you make more action in this room, your
character will slowly run out of breath and may even die, so make your actions
short and quick!
Do not inspect the items here aimlessly, or else you'll game over quick easily.
Here're the necessary actions.
First, navigate to the south-west shelf. Touch the blue book in the middle of
the shelf and you'll come to a realisation that its a book on Osterzone. It is
written by Robert Evans, the dad of Mila! Pick up the "book on Osterzone",
and you'll also discover that there's a photo too.
Take the photo, and you'll automatically check the back of it. The birth date
of Jenny is written behind. May. 18 1967....Five-eighteen.
Next, touch on the book on the right shelf where the Osterzone book was, for the
guest register book. Its the old register book from two years ago, so you will
be able to see if you can find Grace in it. Needless to say, her stay is
documented in the book, on August 1977.
Lastly, touch the red book located one space below the shelf of Osterzone book.
It's a book called Life Trivia, a tip or two that will come in handy.
The first talks about how to sharpen your blade: take the blade and use it to
cut up some aluminum foil. The next tip mention that the pencil lead can be
used to lubricate and increase the conductivity of electrical contacts, just by
grinding the lead into powder form and sprinkle it on the contact point.
End the inspection of the shelf, and walk to the table with the computer. Slide
the view so that you can get a view of the cable of the computer connected to
the socket. Get a close-up view and you'll see that it is plugged, but it does
not look like it is making enough contact. If it is not obvious enough, you need
to have the pencil lead in powder form.
You have the pencil lead in your inventory, previously used to wind the cassette
earlier in the game, but you'll need something to make the lead into powder
form. Open the lower drawer besides the computer and you'll see a scissors and
a file. Use the pencil on the file to sharpen the pencil...
Drag the pencil from side to side repeatedly to create the graphite powder.
Use the graphite powder onto the socket. You'll sprinkle the powder onto it, and
the conductivity will be improved.
You can now use the computer, but not yet. Next, check the top drawer on the
table to find a lockbox. Dial the pass number "518", which is the birth date of
Jenny to unlock the box. Read the letter within the box, addressed to Dunning.
The letter content talks about how Robert Evans threatened Dunning to keep a
secret or else he will not return Jenny to him. Apparently he send the letter to
Dunning seven years ago, the year where Evans closed up his gallery. They have
some secret somewhere too. You'll also see some weird and mysterious letters at
the end. Its some kind of a code. The letters are random, so you might not get
get the same code pattern in the next game.
Next, check out the paper on the desk.
It doesn't seens to appear so, but there's actually something written on the
paper. There's no way that you can make the content appear though...but you can
actually read it anyway! Tilt your DS to slightly upward or downward and you
should be able to make out two digits. The number is random, so you will have to
check it every time you play the game. Alternatively you can use the "Black
Light" item, if you have taken it previously.
With the number in your head, its time to use the computer! Click on the
"Letter from Evans", then click it for use on the computer.
Press the red button to switch on the computer, and use the up or down arrow
at the upper-right corner to change the digit into the one you see on the paper.
With the code being shown on the left DS screen, punch in the code, remember to
press the space bar for a space if required. After you entered the upper row of
codes, tap on "Enter" before you enter the next row. Tap "Enter" again.
A message will appear. OSTERZONE IS DUNNING SMITH!
That should explain why Dunning Smith have been carving woods and the paint in
his refrigerator. He's an artist!
After you solved this major mystery, someone knock on the door. Its Louie at the
other side! Tap on the door to yell for his rescue, and he'll do so.
Before you exit, touch on the red toolbox under the table and take out the
hammer.
- UNDERPASS -
Walk along the outer wall and a cutscene will be triggered as you touches the
bend of this underpass. You two will notice the bricks have fallen off here.
Get a closer view of the portion of the wall where the bricks have fallen, and
use the "Hammer" on it.
Touch on the bricks to remove them so that you'll see what is behind the wall:
a door! Enter the door.
- SECRET ROOM -
Louie is shock to find this place containing those art stuffs. You'll proceed
to explain the mystery to him, but not all questions gets answered here.
Walk to the lower-left corner , and claim the palette-knife lying on top of the
palette.
Take the item to the canvas, and proceed to scrap the painting with it.
Remove the outer layer until the painting beneath it, an angel painting, is
fully exposed. Another long conversation with Louie will be triggered, and then
you'll be allow to roam once more. Exit the room. Save your game here!
- UNDERPASS -
Head upward towards the direction of the basement. Kyle will notice the
strange line running through a portion of a wall.
You'll enter it to find Dunning and Mila...!
The drilling of questions with Dunning starts as soon as you step in. You're
warned that if you make any mistakes in the questions here, it'll result in a
game over when the conversation ends.
These are the appropriate choices:
- You talked to him here.
- It was Bradley
What did you and Evans discuss?
- It was Nile.
What did Bradley say?
- You lied.
Is Evans going to contact you?
- He didn't say a thing.
After these choices, its time for him to open up like a book. Engage in the
longest conversation of this game and the entire mystery will be solved. He'll
give you a key in the middle of the conversation, which will be used
automatically near the end of the scene.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8:00 A.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Its morning, and you'll wake up from a morning call from Rachel. As you leaves,
various people will shows up to bid you good bye. For a couple of them, you have
to sidetrack a little though, however, so make sure you've visited all of the
available rooms.
Hopefully you've make good impression of yourself through the small actions and
the tones you give when talking to them, so they'll show up and say good bye to
you.

***HOW TO GIVE THE PINKIE RABBIT DOLL TO MILA
Answer: The general perspective that you can't give the doll to Mila, since the
only time you can give item to her is at 8:20PM, and that the last star stickers
is to be found in the bar (which opens at 9:00PM), making the 'earliest' time to
obtain the doll at 9:00PM.
However, using this method, it is possible to give the doll to Mila:
First, exchange the money for coins with Dunning. Between this moment until you
goes to Rosa's room in 8:00PM, go to the vending machine. Now, insert the coins,
and punch in the numbers starting from 99 in descending order (99, 98, 97 etc).
Its a slow process, but eventually you will chance upon the number to get the
Pinkie Rabbit Doll without verifying all of the 7 star stickers! Then, simple
goes to give Mila the doll in 8:20PM and she will accept it.
