A: Order it from the Sprites' Shopping Channel.
Q: What do the / mean?
A: That you can use either of those ingredients.
Q: Does the size of the ingredient matter?
A: No, unless stated otherwise.
Q: What should I cook to win the Cooking Festival?
A: Winning recipes are listed in the appropriate section.
Q: How do I get the Makers?

The shopping channel is the second channel of the
Harvest Sprites' Network and is not available until
you have unlocked it. The channel sells items you need
or that would be decorative to your house.
The item is available for a week and will be switched
with the next item on the list, if you haven't purchased
it within that week. If you missed buying something, the
item will reappear once the list repeats itself.
Items sold can be decorative to your house or of actual use,
other times it will introduce items the Harvest Sprites use.
Once you've purchased all the available items, the channel
will only show the Harvest Sprite items.
To purchase an item, watch the channel and head to the phone
and call the TV Shopping who will ask for immediate payment
and Thomas will deliver the item after two or three days.
The order of items available is randomly generated,
but once you've unlocked the channel, it's usually the
coffee table that is the first sale. It could be that the
clock or Tool and Jewelry Box are first, though.
The kitchen won't be available until you've upgraded your
house at least once and the utensils not until you've
purchased the kitchen.
The option to upgrade your house is available once you
have the coffee table. Then call Gotz to upgrade your house,
which'll cost 3.000 G and you will need 200 Material Stones.
Pay 43.000 G to have Gotz bring the material himself.
Unlocking the channel is easy, the earliest date you can
unlock is the 13th or 14th of spring. You need to buy
something from the Supermarket for a total of 10 days.
It doesn't matter what you buy, you just need to purchase
something. Some say it needs to be 10 consecutive days,
but that is impossible as the Supermarket is closed on
Tuesdays and Sundays.

Cooking is quite easy, just stand next to the kitchen
and press A and choose to cook something to open the menu.
The menu will ask you to pick the ingredients you want to
use, wether they are in your rucksack or the fridge, and
then to pick the utensil you want to use. Of course, you
can only use a utensil you have.
Checking recipes will list the recipes you have cooked
for each utensil and by pressing A, you can open the
recipe and can choose to instantly cook that recipe the
same way again. For this to work, all the necessary
ingredients will have to be in your inventory somehow.
You can also choose to check your recipes and then to
arrange them differently, to increase their effect.

With a total of 134 recipes to cook, you'll spend a lot
of time in the kitchen. Especially if you want to impress
the Harvest Goddess or just want to fill your recipe and
shipping list. Several of the recipes will require multiple
uses of the same ingredient to make another one.
The recipes are as follows ..

Annually on the 22nd of Spring, the festival is held at the
beach and split into two parts. The first part is from 10 AM
until 12 PM, where you can talk with everybody and finally
find out from Thomas what the year's entry dish's category
must be. Upon leaving the beach, you'll automatically taken
to your house, it's 12 PM and you can cook your dish.
The second part is from 12 PM until 6 PM, where the dishes
are tasted, judged and a winner will be announced.
During the first year, you can't win as you don't have
a kitchen, however you can participate by entering a
Grape Juice bought from the Supermarket. You'll be disqualified
for entering a dish from the wrong category, but it counts as
a participated festival.
Because of a glitch, you cannot compete during the Oven category
as the game will freeze during the judging. Just work on that day
and skip out on the festival.
You don't really get anything for winning the festival except
some farm degree points, but it's always nice to win. To win,
you have to cook a really good dish and for a dish to count
as good, it means the more ingredients used right, the better.
Quite obviously, the largest population of the ingredients
for your cooking come from your farmland and foraging the
various fields in the valley.
Black Grass is found by digging the ground in the mines,
the mines themselves and not the digsite.
Shiitake is found by building the Mushroom Shed and
purchasing the spores from Vesta. They take 35 days to
grow on the lumber the first time around.
Cheese and Yoghurt are found by putting Milk into the
respective Maker, which'll require the Maker Shed.
