2.Introduction
Hey all! I'm drumguyonguitar. I recently got this game and loved it and
thought I'd share some of my insight with the games weapons with ya. Hope this
helps anyone that needs info. Enjoy!

3.Purpose of FAQ
The purpose of this FAQ is to elaborate further on the numerous weapons
found in the game and hopefully give you some stategy on the use of them
(goldeneye powers too!)

4.Weapons FAQ
Ahh...the good part. well here you go..... I'll rate each weapon from 1-5.
1 being terrible, 5 being incredible. (I will gradually update my descriptions)
I will also tell you whether it takes one or two hands to hold, which will
let you know which weapons can be duel-weld.
a. Spec-9.
This is a very standard handgun that has low power, but decent accuracy.
This weapon is always on hand and is the only GUN that can be holstered.
It always has ammo and has an O.K. rate of fire. Not the best choice if under
heavy fire, because it simply won't wipe out enemies fast enough. Clip size
of 12. One-handed. Has an Infinite amount of ammo. Cannot be Duel-weld.
Overall: I'd give it a 2.
b. Type-S Frag
A very basic frag-grenade. You start every mission off with at least one.
They have a large blast radius that can wipe out multiple enemies at once.
It will kill any enemy with one explosion. One-handed, but cannot be duel-weld.
Overall: 3, Because this weapon can't be used fast enough, it didn't get a
higher rating.
c. Jackal .375
This pistol really packs a punch. Although very small, this weapon can kill
enemies quickly and efficiently. When duel-weld, these are absolutely deadly
The great thing about these weapons: they are easy to find. Tons of enemies
carry them and use them poorly. Reloading is slightly slow though, but it
has a large clip size, nearly 60 at a time, per gun. One-handed.
Overall: 4. These weapons can take out a crowd, especially when Duel-weld.
d. Mamba 12G
This one-handed, lightweight shotgun is especially powerful at close range.
When fired at enemy close enough, it will usually kill them right then and
there. Duel-wielding these isn't always a great idea. These guns have to
re-cock between each shot, making it a pain in situations when you have to
take a lot of fire. I believe it can hold up to 24 two-shot rounds at a time.
It uses ammo very quickly since it shoots 2 shots at once. One-handed.
Overall: 3. High-power, poor accuracy, and painfull reloading. Enough said.
e. HS-90
My personal favorite gun to duel-wield. This can take out enemies VERY
quickly. It is perfect in a crowd and because it can carry up to 150 rounds,
per gun, it is almost always on hand. They are potentially deadly when
duel-wielded and can take out a mob of foes easily. It's rate of fire is
incredible, but it's accuracy is something a bit less than superb. One-handed.
Overall: 4. Easy to take out enemies and high rate of fire and lots of ammo
make this a great pick, but the accuracy may weigh you down. Also, the fully-
automatic aspect makes this a great SMG.
f. AR4 Commando
This is the 2nd most ideal weapon to snipe people out with. The equipped
scope makes it easy to make head-shots and it's automatic nature makes killing
enemies easy when it's not easy to get a one-hit-wonder. The only real flaw is
the amount of ammo. It gets used very quickly when you don't conserve it by
shooting heads. It can hold up to 120 rounds at a time, but like I said, it
goes fast. Two-handed.
Overall: 4. It's great, but not perfect.
g. Longbow SR
Nothing better than sitting back and sniping people out from afar. This is
the MOST ideal weapon to get head-shots. It's zoom level is incredible.
You can get a perfect shot from the other side of the level. You have to
reload after each shot but it's fairly quick. The only real problem is that
there is no crosshair unless it's using the scope, making it quite hard to
no-scope. Its is also heavy so it weighs you character down a little. It has
a clip of size of 16 shots (maximum). Two-handed
Overall: 4.5. Yeah, a weapon with virtually no flaws except the crosshairs...
(errr....lack of them...)
h. Harpoon RL
This is your standard rocket launcher. The only thing that is really great
about it is that it kills enemies in one hit (and a blast radius), it can
kill ospreys fast, and it can kill tanks fast. The reloading time is terrible,
and it makes you move so slow, it is almost unbearable. It can hold up to 6
rockets at a time though. Two-handed.
Overall: 3. Sure blowing things up is nice, but moving like molasses, not so
much.
i. Predator MG
This weapon also causes you to move painfully slow, however, it has the
highest rate of fire of any weapon in the game. Capable of holding up to
600 rounds, this weapon is pretty amazing. You can eat up a whole clip in
thirty seconds if you fire non-stop. This weapon will cause mass genocide
to your enemy forces. The reload time is slow, but manageable. Two-handed.
Overall: 4. Sure, super slow movement stinks, but completely annihilating your
foes...do I even have to go on?
j. Venom 200mL
This is basically a dart gun. It shoots what looks like little green balls
that fly slowly through the air. When this is used against you, it is
absolutely a huge pain in the butt. It turns your whole screen green and
makes you move slower than if you had the harpoon or the predator. It isn't
really a good gun to use against enemies unless you also have an Mk2 detonator
equipped (look down to next weapon). One-handed.
Overall: 1. Does nothing but stun enemies(like a knockout). ooooh what fun...
<sarcasm>
k. Mk2 Detonator
This weapon, simply put, rules. It shoots orange balls of explosive goodness
into the air. These balls stick to anything and everything. After you shoot it,
Press shoot again to detonate it. The reload time is amazing, but it has a
relatively small clip size. It only holds 8 balls at a time, but this small
clip size can be easily dealt with as it can destroy multiple enemies with
only one little orange ball... One-handed
Overall: 5. It's not perfect, but it's very close.
l. Mag-Rail
This weapon is pretty amazing. It shoots a long laser beam that kills enemies
in one shot (excluding virtual training). The laser can shoot through solid
walls and pierce enemies. However, the reload time is, well, just plain bad.
The reloading itself isn't that bad, but it seems to have to charge after each
shot because you can't shoot 2 beams within 2 seconds of each other. The clip
size is around 19 or 20 per gun. One-handed.
Overall: 4. These are amazing when duel-weld, despite the "reload" time.
m. Tesla EM
This small pistol shoots little balls of lightening, though they cannot be
seen. They are the worst gun in the game. You have to empty nearly a whole
clip to defeat an enemy. The clip of this gun can hold a ton of shots however.
Overall: 0.5. Nothing to be said here...except, bad gun! One-handed.
n. Omen XR
This rifle shoots blue orbs that vaporize a target on contact. The orbs move
very slowly however. These are a true pain in campaign as they kill you in one
hit. They are good at killing enemies but hold a very small amount of ammo.
In my experience I have never held more than 7 at a time. Two-handed.
Overall: 2. It really isn't too good. It simply moves way too slow and doesn't
have enough clip size. The only advantage is the one-hit kill.
o. Goblin Mine (multiplayer and Virtual Training only)
This little menace is very tricky. Take one and throw it where your opponent
will go near and voila!, instant death. These are proximity mines that have an
amazing blast radius. They are great for confusing your friends, as they'll
see an explosion, yet not the enemy, then watch themselves die. Two-handed.
Overall: 4. It can only be carried in 2 hands, making you helpless if an
enemy surprises you.
p. Golden Gun (multiplayer and Virtual Training only)
Well you no the story here, INSTANT KILL. All it takes is one shot, and, WHAM
See ya later! you have to reload every shot, but it's quick. It can hold enough
ammo because it only takes one shot to kill. In any other gun, you'd be
laughing at the lack of ammo, but not here. I believe its clip can hold 8 at
a time. One-handed
Overall: 5. Almost no flaws at all, yet not perfect.
-----------------------------------
5.Goldeneye Powers
Yes, I realize that these are not weapons, however, some are used as weapons
and I thought they should be included. I will rate these from 1-3 instead of
1-5. You know the drill....1 being bad, 3 being good. Here we go...
a. MRI Vision
This is the very first power you will unlock. It allows you to see a
silhouette of an opponent through walls. This power works EXTREMELY well with
the Mag-Rail as it will enable you to kill an enemy before he sees you. Using
this eyepower wisely will make it easy for you to get "cheap shot" rogue
bonuses. This drains energy over time.
Overall: 1. This is the worst of all the Goldeneye upgrades, but comes in handy
when you have low health and you need to get rid of enemies behind cover.
b. EM Hack
This power is your second Goldeneye upgrade. It allows you to "tamper with
electronic machinery and weapons"(as scaramanga puts it). Simply put, when
hacking an enemy's weapon, it puts them into the reload sequence which will
give you time to kill him without getting injured for a short period of time.
You may also use this to use machine traps from a distance or activate
necessary things from afar. This also costs 45 points to use per use. This can
also destroy enemies shields(those who have personal shields).
Overall: 2. Helpful, yet not incredible (rhyme intended...uhh kinda)
c. Polarity Shield
The third power to unlock, this is worth the wait, for the most part. Using
this power will put a Magnetic shield around that will protect you for a
short period of time. You will know it's working when you see a blinking
screen. This power will rapidly consume the goldeneye power meter, especially
when you are being shot at. When you are near an enemy, you can "discharge"
your shield at him. This supposedly causes more damage than a melee attack
(though I have yet to notice it). This, like the MRI Vision, drains power
over time.
Overall: 2.5. Yes this can keep you from being damaged, but that's about it.
d. Magnetic Induction Field
Ahhh....the best and most fun power to use(also unlocked last). With this
power, you can fling any enemy within range to their ultimate doom. This
comes in handy when reloading or when you don't have enough firepower. Just
press select when an enemy is highlighted in yellow and there they go. The
only flaw with this is that it costs 75...yes, 75, power per use, making it
hard to use all at one time. The great thing about this is you can fling really
tough enemies(such as the ones with shields) to their death without effort.
Overall: 3. This is extremely helpful and fun to use---a perfect combo!

6.Unlocking Weapons for Virtual Training
This is going to be a short section.....
All you have to do to unlock weapons is to play through the campaign and the
Virtual Training levels in the campaign mode on different difficulties. Nothing
more, nothing less. It really is that straight forward. It isn't easy however.
So good luck to everyone on getting all the weapons!
