At the time of this writing, there seems to be no true endgame class setup
guide for Dark Dawn out there. My aim is to correct this. To this effect I
will be presenting several possible class setups, complete with statistics and
individual character notes and my own personal ratings.

Before I begin, I would like to thank aku chi, who is the author of the
excellent class setup guides for Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age, and
is also the inspiration for this guide.

One more thing: These builds are intended to be highly generalized, meaning
that they will be good for any situation. Other, specialized builds may be
better than these for particular bosses or areas; if so, you'll have to come
up with those on your own.

Class Setup 1: Master Wizards           Archer's Rating: 9.0        [CS1:MW]
******************************************************************************
******************************************************************************

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name    | Class      | HP   | PP   | ATT  | DEF  | AGL  | Luck | EA's Rating
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Karis   | Wizard     | 170% | 190% | 130% | 140% | 180% | 120% |    8.8
Tyrell  | Master     | 200% | 160% | 170% | 140% | 190% |  80% |    9.5
Matthew | Chaos Lord | 200% | 120% | 170% | 140% | 160% |  70% |    9.5
Amiti   | Guru       | 170% | 170% | 140% | 150% | 170% | 120% |    10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sveta   | Wizard     | 170% | 190% | 130% | 140% | 180% | 120% |    8.0
Eoleo   | Ronin      | 210% | 140% | 160% | 150% | 150% |  90% |    9.5
Himi    | Master     | 200% | 160% | 170% | 140% | 190% |  80% |    9.0
Rief    | Oracle     | 170% | 180% | 140% | 140% | 160% | 100% |    8.5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course, you are free to swap characters between the front and back parties
as you wish, and also to swap Tyrell's class with Eoleo's, or Amiti's with
Rief's. Just remember that Himi cannot be a Chaos Lord!

Notes:

Karis, Sveta: Wizard      Archer's Rating: 8.8, 8.0
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Impact, Break, Plasma, Prism

These two make effective healer/casters, with the Wish, Plasma, and Prism
series and a tremendous PP pool. Their health and defense is standard and
their agility excellent, but their attack is sub-par. They also have the
highly useful Impact series, as well as Break.

Tyrell: Master            Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Annihilation, Shuriken, Death Leap, Thunderhead

As a Master, Tyrell does great damage with the highest possible attack
rating, along with solid attack psynergy like Annihilation, Shuriken and
Thunderhead. He also gets a great agility multiplier to compensate his
naturally low speed. And of course, he has great health and decent
defense. Just beware his substandard luck.

Matthew: Chaos Lord       Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Revive, Planetary

Like Tyrell, Chaos Lord Matthew is a powerful, durable damage dealer. His
PP his atrocious, but he'll only need it to cast Revive, so you shouldn't
have any problems there. His agility will let you strike before most
enemies, but again, his horrible luck rating leaves him vulnerable to
status inflictions and the like, so beware.

Amiti: Guru               Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Cure Poison, Restore, Break, Prism, Pyroclasm

This is easily Amiti's (and Rief's) best class. None of his other classes
have higher attack or defense, only one (Aqua Master) has more health,
only one (Pure Mage) has more luck, and his PP and agility are more than
sufficient. In short, Guru Amiti makes a durable healer, with decent
attack power on the side. He can also attack with the Prism series.

Eoleo: Ronin              Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Quick Strike, Protector, Impact/Ward substitutes

The Ronin is an extremely durable class with high attack power and lots
of interesting psynergy, including Quick Strike and buffs of every kind.
He's a bit on the slow side, but not so much as to hamstring your efforts.
There's not much else to say; Eoleo (or Tyrell) does great as a Ronin.

Himi: Master              Archer's Rating: 9.0
Notable Psynergy: Annihilation, Shuriken, Death Leap, Thunderhead

Master Himi will be much like Master Tyrell, except with a bit lower
attack, health, and defense, but better luck, PP, and agility. In general,
she is probably better suited for healing/casting, but she still makes for
a fine attacker in this class.

Rief: Oracle              Archer's Rating: 8.5
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Revive, Cure Poison, Restore, Cure

Oracle Rief can't quite match a Guru's stats, but he isn't far behind,
and he makes up for it by having Revive. Rief will be an effective healer
in this class, with Wish, Cure Poison and Restore. He also has Break and
the Cure series for single targets.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall:                  Archer's Rating: 9.0

This was easily one of the best class setups in The Lost Age, and it still is
in Dark Dawn. It features 4 solid healers, 2 Revivers, and 4 powerful physical
attackers. It also has 3 characters with attack-boosting psynergy as well as
the Ronin's other buffs. In short, this is a durable, well-rounded build that
puts every character in a valuable class.

However, it should be noted that this setup has fallen a bit since The Lost
Age, because of Himi and Sveta: Himi is better suited to healing, and Sveta is
better suited to attacking, and this setup does not allow either. Don't get me
wrong - Himi can still deal great damage as a Master, and Wizard Sveta still
makes a fine healer/caster, but this doesn't really play to their respective
strengths. Which leads us to the next setup.

******************************************************************************
******************************************************************************
Class Setup 2: Guru Gladiator           Archer's Rating: 9.5        [CS2:GG]
******************************************************************************
******************************************************************************

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name    | Class      | HP   | PP   | ATT  | DEF  | AGL  | Luck | EA's Rating
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Karis   | Wizard     | 170% | 190% | 130% | 140% | 180% | 120% |    8.8
Sveta   | Gladiator  | 170% | 120% | 150% | 150% | 170% | 120% |    10
Matthew | Master     | 200% | 160% | 170% | 140% | 190% |  80% |    9.5
Amiti   | Guru       | 170% | 170% | 140% | 150% | 170% | 120% |    10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Himi    | Protector  | 190% | 140% | 150% | 150% | 140% | 120% |    9.1
Eoleo   | Ronin      | 210% | 140% | 160% | 150% | 150% |  90% |    9.5
Tyrell  | Master     | 200% | 160% | 170% | 140% | 190% |  80% |    9.5
Rief    | Guru       | 170% | 170% | 140% | 150% | 170% | 120% |    10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, you are free to swap characters between front and back parties (notice
that I swapped Sveta with Tyrell so as to maintain 1 Reviver in each party)
and you can swap Tyrell's and Eoleo's classes. You could also swap Matthew's
and Himi's, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Notes:

Karis: Wizard             Archer's Rating: 8.8
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Impact, Break, Plasma, Prism

Still a Wizard, still a great healer/caster, but sub-par attacker.

Sveta: Gladiator          Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Revive, Boon, Psynergy Slam, Psynergy Surge, Speed Punch,
                 Cure Poison, Restore

Sveta is the real winner here. The Gladiator class gives her her highest
possible attack and defense multipliers together with high luck and
agility, making her a much better attacker than she was as a Wizard. She
gets Cure Poison and Restore, as well as Vital Boon for single target
healing, and best of all, she picks up Revive. She also gets some powerful
single target attack psynergy with Psynergy Slam and Psynergy Surge - and
by the way, the extra Venus power she gets from this setup is great for
her Umbra Knuckles, since all 3 Umbra Knuckle unleashes are Venus-based.
Really, the only downside to Gladiator Sveta is her terribly low PP.

But there's one more thing to consider: Sveta's Beast Form. When Sveta
enters Beast Form, her class changes to the following Wild Animal series:

   --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Class        | Djinn Required | HP   | PP   | ATT  | DEF  | AGL  | Luck
   --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Wild Animal  | None           | 180% |  80% | 280% | 200% | 130% | 110%
    Brutal Beast | 6J or 6V, 1J   | 210% |  90% | 320% | 220% | 140% | 110%
    Savage Fiend | 8J or 7V, 2J   | 230% | 100% | 360% | 240% | 150% | 110%
   --------------------------------------------------------------------------
This means that when Gladiator Sveta (or Prime Beast Sveta) uses Beast
Form, she becomes the much more powerful Savage Fiend, rather than a Wild
Animal. This is, of course, a HUGE advantage over Wizard Sveta.

Matthew: Master           Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Annihilation, Shuriken, Death Leap, Thunderhead

Master Matthew is much like Chaos Lord Matthew, with great health and
attack. He's much faster now, and has a shade more luck, but can no longer
Revive others. Sveta can Revive now, though, so it's not a big deal.

Amiti, Rief: Guru         Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Cure Poison, Restore, Break, Prism, Pyroclasm

Now they're both in their best class as Gurus. The only downside in
switching from Oracle to Guru is that you lose Revive, but Himi can use
Revive now, so no problem. To reiterate, Guru Amiti and Rief make great,
durable healers and can attack reasonably well on the side.

Himi: Protector           Archer's Rating: 9.1
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Revive, Ply, Cure Poison, Restore, Break

Himi is the only one who suffers in the transition from the first setup -
if you can call it suffering. As a Protector, Himi has a bit less health,
considerably less attack, and a lot less agility, but she gains lots of
luck, some defense, as well as healing skills and Revive. For an attacker,
her attack and health multipliers aren't quite what you'd want; but for a
healer, they're excellent. This class does a decent job of playing to
Himi's strengths as a caster, and she maintains solid attack and great
defense. Any agility problems she has are easily solved with a zol ring.

Eoleo: Ronin              Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Quick Strike, Protector, Impact/Ward substitutes

Just as before, Eoleo (or Tyrell; these two really are interchangeable) is
a very durable attacker with party buffs on the side.

Tyrell: Master            Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Annihilation, Shuriken, Death Leap, Thunderhead

Tyrell also hasn't changed; he still does great damage with the highest
possible attack bonus and is very durable.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall:                  Archer's Rating: 9.5

This setup still features 4 great healers (5 if you count Sveta's Boon) and 2
Revivers, along with Karis' Impact and all of the Ronin buffs. In addition,
this build allows Himi to be a healer and Sveta to be an attacker (especially
since she now has access to the ultimate Savage Fiend class), and also gives
you a second Guru, placing Sveta, Amiti, and Rief in what I would call their
absolute best classes. Himi can still attack reasonably well, as an added
bonus. And you'll never lack for Cure Poison or Restore.

******************************************************************************
******************************************************************************
Class Setup 3: Pure Paladins            Archer's Rating: 9.7        [CS3:PP]
******************************************************************************
******************************************************************************

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name    | Class      | HP   | PP   | ATT  | DEF  | AGL  | Luck | EA's Rating
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tyrell  | Paladin    | 200% | 150% | 160% | 160% | 130% | 130% |    9.3
Matthew | Chaos Lord | 200% | 120% | 170% | 140% | 160% |  70% |    9.5
Amiti   | Guru       | 170% | 170% | 140% | 150% | 170% | 120% |    10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sveta*  | Prime Beast| 190% | 170% | 140% | 140% | 150% | 100% |    9.0
Eoleo   | Master     | 200% | 160% | 170% | 140% | 190% |  80% |    9.5
Himi    | Paladin    | 200% | 150% | 160% | 160% | 130% | 130% |    10
Rief    | Pure Mage  | 170% | 190% | 140% | 140% | 160% | 130% |    9.5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Sveta should have 8 Jupiter Djinn set, 1 Mercury Djinni on standby.
As always, you can swap Eoleo's and Tyrell's classes, or Amiti's and Rief's,
or rearrange the parties.

Notes:

Karis: Pure Mage          Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Revive, Cure Poison, Restore, Ward, Plasma, Prism

This is Karis' best class. Finally, she has decent attack (her highest
possible attack rating, in fact), and she has also improved her luck over
the Wizard's. All she lost was a bit of agility - as if Karis isn't fast
enough already - and Impact, which she's traded for Revive, Ward, Cure
Poison and Restore. Pure Mage Karis makes an excellent healer/caster, and
can attack decently well on the side.

Tyrell: Paladin           Archer's Rating: 9.3
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Ply, Cure Poison, Restore, Plume Edge

The Paladin is a remarkable class, featuring attack power to match the
Ronin's, health to match the Master's, the highest defense and luck in the
game, and great healing skills to boot. The only downside to this class is
the terrible agility; you'll probably want to compensate for this with a
zol ring and/or Hover Greaves. In any case, Paladin Tyrell makes a good
physical attacker with amazing durability who can double as a healer in a
   pinch.

Matthew: Chaos Lord       Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Revive, Planetary

As always, Matthew is an exceptional physical attacker with decent
durability. He can now Revive when needed as well.

Amiti: Guru               Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Cure Poison, Restore, Break, Prism, Pyroclasm

Amiti's still healing while attacking on the side in his beloved Guru
class. If you want to hear me wax eloquent on why Guru is Amiti's best
   class, see Setup 1.

Sveta: Prime Beast        Archer's Rating: 9.0
Notable Psynergy: Boon, Cure Poison, Restore, Ray, Whirlwind, Slash

Normally I'd advise against putting a character in a mono-elemental class,
but Sveta is an exception. Her attack, defense, agility, and luck all fall
slightly from the Gladiator, but her health and PP actually get a
substantial boost. Her attack as a Prime Beast is still a step up from the
Wizard, and she maintains her Boon, Cure Poison and Restore, at least. She
also gains a variety of Wind attack psynergy, and now has the Jupiter
power and PP to use it well. Most importantly, however, is that as a Prime
Beast, Sveta still has access to the uber Savage Fiend class. In short,
Prime Beast Sveta can't possibly match up to Gladiator Sveta, but she
   still does quite well.

Eoleo: Master             Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Annihilation, Shuriken, Death Leap, Thunderhead

Just like the other Masters, Master Eoleo is a fast, powerful damage
   dealer with above average durability.

Himi: Paladin             Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Ply, Cure Poison, Restore, Plume Edge

Himi was made for this class. As a Paladin, she can still make good use of
her mage-style base stats and equipment options to heal the party, but
also gets incredible durability along with excellent attack and luck. Her
naturally high speed will help compensate the Paladin's low agility
multiplier somewhat, and you can still give her a zol ring to pick up any
slack. Basically, this class is all-around better than the Protector.

Rief: Pure Mage           Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Revive, Cure Poison, Restore, Ward, Plasma, Prism

The Pure Mage can't quite match the Guru for stats, but it's not far
behind, and Revive, Ward and Plasma help make up the difference. Pure Mage
Rief will still be a solid healer/caster.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall:                  Archer's Rating: 9.7

This build has 5 healers (6 with Sveta's Boon) and 3 Revivers, and also gives
Karis a better attack multiplier to work with. Himi also gets a huge boost up,
and Rief's extra Revive more than makes up for the stats he loses in the
switch from Guru to Pure Mage. Sveta loses here, but not excessively so,
especially since she gets to keep her Savage Fiend class.
The only real disappointment with this build is the lack of Impact; if you
want to buff up your attack during battle, you'll have to rely on Djinn or
Megaera to do it. This is offset by the extra healer and Reviver this setup
offers, along with the 2 Pure Mages' Ward psynergy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Normal party and class swap options apply. Just remember that Himi cannot be
a Chaos Lord, and Karis won't become a Gladiator.

Notes:

Karis: Wizard             Archer's Rating: 8.8
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Impact, Break, Plasma, Prism

Back in the Wizard class, Karis again makes a good healer/caster, but her
   attack suffers.

Sveta: Gladiator          Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Revive, Boon, Psynergy Slam, Psynergy Surge, Speed Punch,
                 Cure Poison, Restore

Back in her best class, with great psynergy options and her best possible
attack and defense, along with the Savage Fiend. See Setup 2 for details.

Matthew: Chaos Lord       Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Revive, Planetary

As always, Matthew is an exceptional physical attacker with decent
durability. He can now Revive when needed as well. And yes, I copied this
   description verbatim from Setup 3.

Amiti: Guru               Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Cure Poison, Restore, Break, Prism, Pyroclasm

You may have noticed by now that I like my Water Adepts as Gurus. For
full details why, see Setup 1.

Himi: Protector           Archer's Rating: 9.1
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Revive, Ply, Cure Poison, Restore, Break

Himi is in the Protector class again, healing and Reviving and attacking
decently well on the side. See Setup 2.

Tyrell: Chaos Lord        Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Revive, Planetary

Another Chaos Lord, Tyrell makes a great attacker who can also Revive.

Eoleo: War Adept          Archer's Rating: 8.5
Notable Psynergy: Impact, Guard, Ward, Thunder Mine, Pyroclasm

Statistically, the War Adept is almost strictly inferior to the Master,
with substantially less attack, less health and agility, and equal
defense. This is simply not a good choice for an attacker, making Eoleo
the weak link in this party. The only redeeming feature here is that, like
the Ronin, War Adept Eoleo has buffs of every kind, and plenty of PP to
use them, which makes him versatile as a support class, at least.

Rief: Wizard              Archer's Rating: 8.5
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Impact, Break, Plasma, Prism

Much like Karis, Rief makes a great healer/caster as a Wizard, but his
   attack suffers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall:                  Archer's Rating: 8.7

This setup has 4 healers (5 with Sveta's Boon) and a whopping 4 Revivers,
along with 3 Impacts and the War Adept's other buffs. Sveta wins big in her
Gladiator class, but you pay for it by having 2 low-attack Wizards and a War
Adept. Protector Himi is versatile, capable of healing, Reviving, and to a
lesser extent, attacking. And your Chaos Lords, of course, will do excellent
damage.

Basically, this class setup of 8 Double Elementals is very simple, but
nevertheless effective, with an excellent spread of healing and Reviving
options, but the spread of stats - particularly Attack - isn't really on par
with the other setups. There are, of course, a lot of other ways to implement
8 Double Elemental classes, but in my opinion none is better than this one.
In any case, the Double Elemental setups tend to feature good (but not great)
stats all around, and tend to be somewhat lacking in variety (you'll usually
end up with at least 2 Wizards and at least 2 Chaos Lords). They're easy to
work with and not at all weak; however, I believe the other setups are better.

I would not use this setup personally, because it does not suit my playstyle
very well; however, that does not mean it is a bad setup. Other players with
different preferences may find this setup very appealing.

*Rief should have 8 Mercury Djinn set, 1 Venus Djinni on standby.

Notes:

Karis: Pure Mage          Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Revive, Cure Poison, Restore, Ward, Plasma, Prism

Back in her best class, Pure Mage Karis makes a great healer/caster, with
a decent attack rating on the side.

Tyrell: Paladin           Archer's Rating: 9.3
Notable Psynergy: Wish, Ply, Cure Poison, Restore, Plume Edge

Paladin Tyrell is extremely difficult to kill, and is good at both healing
and attacking. His only weakness is his low Agility. See Setup 3.

Matthew: Master           Archer's Rating: 9.5
Notable Psynergy: Annihilation, Shuriken, Death Leap, Thunderhead

A Master once more, Matthew is a durable damage dealer with incredible
Agility and a wide array of offensive Psynergy.

Amiti: Warlock            Archer's Rating: 6.0
Notable Psynergy: Ward, Slash, Pyroclasm, Douse, Break

Warlock Amiti has solid stats for a caster, can use Ward and Break,
and can deal a fair bit of Mars damage with Pyroclasm, but he suffers
overall from a lack of healing Psynergy. That means you'll mostly be
having him attack physically, probably with the Saggitarius Bow. And
unfortunately, the Warlock's attack rating is a bit lackluster for a
designated attacker, making Amiti something of a weak link in this setup.

Rief: Angel               Archer's Rating: 8.3
Notable Psynergy: Ply, Wish, Ice Missile, Douse, Break

Angel Rief has great Luck and decent PP and Defense, but sub-par Attack
and HP, and his Agility is truly awful. The good news, however, is that
the mono-elemental Angel class grants Rief some amazing Mercury Power,
which makes his healing spells extremely effective and even lends some
power to his otherwise unimpressive offensive Psynergy. So, though it
leaves something to be desired statisically, the Angel class does very
well when it comes to healing, and that's all you really need from Rief
       in this setup anyway.

Sveta: Gladiator          Archer's Rating: 10
Notable Psynergy: Revive, Boon, Psynergy Slam, Psynergy Surge, Speed Punch,
                 Cure Poison, Restore

This class is amazing for Sveta. See Setup 2 for details.

Eoleo: War Adept          Archer's Rating: 8.5
Notable Psynergy: Impact, Guard, Ward, Thunder Mine, Pyroclasm

Once again, the War Adept is rather weak for an attacker class, unable
to compete statistically with the Ronin, Paladin, Master, or Chaos Lord.
The War Adept's buffs are highly valuable to this setup, however, since
none of your other Adepts have Impact or Guard, and you're going to need
       those.

Himi: Diabolist           Archer's Rating: 7.0
Notable Psynergy: Dire Inferno, Undead Might, Fear Puppet, Toxic Grit, Condemn

Personally, I rarely rely on status-inflicting or offensive Psynergy,
preferring instead to use weapon unleashes for damage while letting my
casters handle any healing. Thus, the Diabolist's lack of Revive or any
healing spells is a huge drawback from my perspective. However, those who
like to use offensive spells will probably love Diabolist Himi. Her stats
are excellent for a caster, with decent defenses and ridiculous PP, and
she has some very deadly spells at her disposal. Dire Inferno is the
most powerful ranged Mars spell you can get, Undead Might is the second
most powerful spell in the game, Fear Puppet can stun multiple targets
at once, and Toxic Grit not only deals damage, but can also inflict Venom
on up to three enemies. If offensive mage-style Adepts are your thing,
then this is the class for you.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall:                  Archer's Rating: 8.0

This setup fetures 3 healers (4 with Sveta's Boon), 2 Revivers, and at least
one of each type of buff, thanks to the War Adept. Karis', Matthew's, Sveta's,
and Tyrell's classes are excellent, and Angel Rief has so much Mercury power
that he can almost do the work of two healers. Diabolist Himi makes for an
exceptional offensive spellcaster, while Warlock Amiti is something of a
spellcaster/attacker hybrid.

As I said before, this is not a setup I would use myself, mostly because it
does not allow Amiti or Himi to heal, and I personally don't have much use
for offensive mages like the Warlock or Diabolist. Nevertheless, this is a
solid and versatile setup that can hold its own in a variety of situations,
and it should work well for any spellcaster enthusiasts out there.
