-0.60 Character Specific Equipment
__________________________________________________
These character specific equipment are important and mandatory to obtain to
progress further in the game, they're simple to find.
-IMPACT GLOVES (Goemon)
These red gloves are used to grab and move the Impact Blocks, can also be used
as short ranged attack weapons, though not recommended.
-BALLERINA OUTFIT (Ebisumaru)
Ebisumaru dons a ballerina outfit, allowing him to drill himself underground,
out of harms way and break down rock insignias on the ground revealing what's
under them.
- BALLOONS (Sasuke)
Balloons used to make long ranged jumps and more secured jumps over gaps.
- MERMAID JUTSU (Yae)
Yae basically dons a fish costume but tries to show it as a Jutsu with a chant
when transformed into this. Allows swimming.
__________________________________________________
-0.70 Special Jutsu attacks
__________________________________________________
These abilities, while not mandatory to obtain to progress the story, are good
and nice additions to your arsenal of attacks. The downside is that you must
collect scrolls dropped by enemies, and when full just one use of these will
deplete the whole bar.
- IMPACT DRIVE (Goemon)
Goemon dons a Goemon Impact costume with a cannon strapped to his back, makes
the trademark Impact pose and shoots cannonballs from the cannon, damaging
every enemy on screen.
- LOVELY ANGEL (Ebisumaru)
Ebisumaru transforms into an angel and floats in mid-air, casting hearts all
over the screen and damaging enemies on screen.
- NINJA KITE (Sasuke)
Sasuke unites with fellow robot ninjas and form a kite, bombarding every
enemy on screen.
- KIMONO YAE (Yae)
Yae dons a kimono and fans herself a few times, then casts a spell which
damages all enemies on screen.
After going through the opening story-telling and cutscene, you'll start in a
room on a rope, get to the middle of it and use the stylus to pull the rope
down and let it go, causing you to be thrown up in the air. Get onto the
platform above and continue to the next room.
In the next room navigate on the bridge. You'll find enemies here, but
without a weapon you're powerless, but these guys can be defeated by just a
tap, so tap them to beat them easily. Drop down the bridge between the handle
bars and continue on to the !? on the map, where there's a pole. Jump on it
and climb to the top to exit the cave.

-1.10 Edo Town
__________________________________________________
Freedom, eh? Wrong! Though you escaped, you will be chased by guards as soon as
you get outside this warehouse, but thanks to Yae you'll get your weapons after
exiting the warehouse. Now you can kick butt! When the scene is over, go to the
right and go up a screen to a residential halley. Enter to the first house to
find the Painter. Talk to him to recieve a Straw Armor, it defends you from 1
damage. Exit and go back to the main street, then into the restaurant to the
right. After the scene, you'll attain a Mask, switch to it with the R shoulder
button to wear it, now you won't be recognized and the guards will leave you
alone. Exit the restaurant and talk to the man next to the boat, choose the
first option to be taken to another area.
Now you're in what looks like a Ghost Town part of Edo. Continue forward to
trigger a cutscene. When it's over, get to the bell and tap it with the stylus
once to trigger another cutscene. When it's over, head through the door the
girl opened up.

-1.20 First Dungeon
__________________________________________________
Just go on forward to enter the next room, nothing to worry about in this one.
In this room, just kill the umbrella monsters and go down the stairs to the
next room.
Notice that button up there? Clear the enemies in this room and go through the
only door you can from this room.
Destroy the fires with just a swing of your weapon and go on through this
tunnel.
In this room, go up the path to the right and pull the the obvious looking
stalagtite(sp?) down and into the ground, use it as a platform and jump over
to the next area. You'll end up in the room with the button, press and stand on
it to lower a mask, tap it to turn it red and the door will open. Now jump down
and go through that door.
MINI BOSS: Room of Eyes
HP: 15 Eyeballs (First part)
Strategy:
Not really much of a boss fight. Watch where the eyes fall from the walls and
attack them. With one blow that single eye will die, though leaving an eyeball
on the ground for too long and they will charge for you, but so slow you can
easily hit it before it hits you. Repeat this with all of them until all 15
eyeballs are gone and then whack the shaking door to reveal the Eye Boss, now
it's a matter of whacking at it until it dies. Watch out though, as it spawns
more eyes in front of it and they'll roll on to you, though not much to worry
about.
With the destruction of this boss, you'll end up what seems to be the backyard
of this place. If you jump up the cliff in front of you, kill the monster and
continue through this path you'll find a chest with a Fortune Cat. Though the
path to take to continue is to the right, then up and up a small case of
stairs. I would suggest being careful as you go along this path, those chubby
monsters like to drop from above and surprise you. Three of them falls from
above in the path up from the small case of stairs,so be with caution. Continue
through this path to the right to go through a door, and a cutscene.
BOSS: Candle Boss
HP: 12 blocks of energy
Strategy:
Not a hard boss. It has green fireballs circling around it, which can't be
destroyed by whacking at them. The main target is the eye, though if you stay
close for too long the green fireballs will chase on you, so back off. Its main
attack is throwing fireballs in the air and landing on you, watch for the
shadows on the ground to guess their landing point. Like I said, the target is
the eye, and you'll probably only be able to land in one hit before the
fireballs will start the chase on you, though if you lure them far and get to
the eye before they do, you can sneak in two or even three strikes.

-1.30 Edo Town -Revisited-
__________________________________________________
After defeating the boss, go through a cutscene with the Emperor, when it ends
you'll be in the main road of Edo Town, go down an area on the bridge where
the old lady is, then go all the way to the left to exit Edo and trigger a
cutscene with the Painter, who will give you the Impact Gloves for Goemon.
These gloves will allow you to move the Impact Blocks. With this cutscene
finished, Chapter 1 is over.
In the new area, beat up the monsters and go up the ladder for a chest, open
it and continue down through the area. You'll find two people in the road,
you'll get a cutscene here. After it's over, go through the next area.
Go up the hill and you'll spot two Impact Blocks, with Goemon use the Impact
Gloves and against the block press and hold the Y button to grab ahold of it
and pull the block back until it's out from under the others and forms
platforms for you to jump on them. Do so and climb up the cliff and you'll get
another cutscene with a sattelite. With that cutscene over continue on.
__________________________________________________
-2.10 Possessed Town
__________________________________________________
You'll find everyone here wearing that freaky mask Omitsu gave you to hide
from the authorities in Edo Town. Go up the hill and take note of the guard
blocking you from entering through the temple. You need to get in there!
Proceed to your right up the hill to the next area of the town.
In this next area, another guard is blocking your path on your left. Put on
the mask you got in Edo Town and the guard will let you pass, now go to the
next area here and continue on the path until in the next area you find a dead
end with a house and a man standing in front of a cave. Enter in the house to
get a cutscene. You have to take off the mask to get anything from him, but he
won't tell you anything unless you pass a challenge of his. Get your stylus
and get ready to mold!
This mini-game is frustrating! You have to mold the clay almost identical to
what they ask you! Spin the dish with the stylus and with the stylus begin to
mold the clay. Take note of the bar on the upper left, it fills up whenever
you're getting close to getting right. If you think you're going wrong, tap the
symbol on the lower right of the screen to scrap your clay. When you get it
right the old man will give you something that'll grant you entry to the
temple. Enter through it.

-2.20 Possessed Town Jail
__________________________________________________
In this room go forward through the door.
Kill the monsters in this rooom, and at the end of the hall and tap the
statue's nose repeatedly to get the statue's tounge to stick out. Jump on the
tongue and get into the statue's mouth.
Kill the monsters on the stairs and continue down the stairs. In the next room
you get a cutscene with Monoshiri Wiseman, he'll give you a Pass. Now exit the
Jail and back into town.
Go up to the area with the guards guarding each side and go to the right, talk
to the guard and he'll let you pass now. Go into the next area!
Now you're in what seems like the back of the town. Tap the turtles to turn
them upside down and whack it to kill it. Continue down the area, remember to
pick up the chest on top of the flat statue for a Fortune Cat, jump and grab
unto the edge to get to it. Up ahead you'll find a broken down bridge, but you
can't jump that far to jump to the other side. So just go to the right of the
ladder into the next area.
Push the Impact Block to the squared hole on the ground to set it up, then jump
onto it and up the ledge. Continue and pull one of the two Impact Blocks back
to make this blockage passable, climb the ladder beyond it and into the next
area.
In the next area you'll get a cutscene right off the bat, and Sasuke will join
the group. Switch to him and go up the path to the right and use Sasuke's
Cracker Bomb to light up the fuse and blow up the huge bomb, opening up the
entrance to this mini dungeon.
Go on forward and up the ladder and do the same you did as before with the rope
to propell yourself upward to the edge ahead, but be careful of an enemy. Go on
along the path, taking caution of not falling down and restarting. Now, you'll
find a ladder with a puddle of water below, you'll lose 1 heart for falling
there, just jump to the ladder, you'll automatically grab onto it. Climb it and
continue along the path, taking care of the enemies in your way. You'll get a
cutscene when you get to the altar, thus recieving the Impact DS (For a lack of
better name in mind). With this Goemon can now summon Impact. Now, remember
that sattelite before the town? Head to that to trigger a cutscene and your
first Impact boss fight! Accept the offer to save your game.
__________________________________________________
-2.40 First Impact Boss Fight -Tutorial-
__________________________________________________
FIRST BOSS: Red Mask Mountain
Strategy:
This is more of a practice battle with the Goemon Impact, get used to the
controls and the commands for Impact, you can make him do something by touching
that command on the DS' touch screen. Move him forward by holding down onto the
foot on the third column of the commands. The self-destruct button is the one
in the middle of it all. If you tap it by accident, press the L and R shoulder
buttons rapidly to cancel the self-destruct sequence. You move your character
itself with the Directional Pad, pressing up on the Directional Pad makes him
jump, in case those quakes happen that'll make your character drop the Impact
DS and leaving the Goemon Impact robot paralized there until you get the DS
back.
Another thing, like the wireless connection with the DS, the farther you get
from Impact the weaker your connection will be, you need at least one bar for
Impact to be operational, otherwise he'll drop to his knees and lie there
paralized leaving himself vulnerable to enemy attacks until you get the
connection back online for him to move. As for your character's side of the
battle, there will be baddies holding onto goodies like Ammo for Goemon
Impact's Nose Gun, oil to recover Goemon Impact's health and batteries to give
Impact the boost needed for Combo and Impact Laser. Watch out for barrels or
any obstacles that might make your character flinch, it'll make him/her drop
the DS and leave Impact vulnerable to enemy attacks.
As for the fight itself, just move Impact forward and bashing onto the
mountains on your way, there's no way you can lose in this battle. Just keep
destroying the mountains until you get to Red Mask Mountain and bash it to
oblivion.
When the battle ends you'll get a cutscene showing how the village people have
thrown away the masks, it seems like they were under a spell or hypnosis. When
it's over you'll end up back to the broken sattelite, go back into town.
__________________________________________________
-2.50 Possessed Town -Revisited-
__________________________________________________
Enter back to the town's jail to get a cutscene with Monoshiri Wiseman, he'll
give Sasuke his Balloons, with these equipped now you can jump over large gaps
as Sasuke, and just what you need to go over that broken bridge! Now go back
to that area and use the Balloons to jump over the broken bridge's gap and
into a new area!
In this new area you will face two paths, but the path to the left won't really
ead you anywhere, just a dead end to the water, which you'll know it's very bad
to jump into them! Go through the path you were facing and use the Impact
Gloves as Goemon to pull the Impact Block back to jump over them and continue
along. There's no point in going down these two ladders, so just jump over the
broken bridge's gap as Sasuke with his Balloons and continue along the next
area.
__________________________________________________
-2.60 Red Mask Temple?
__________________________________________________
Kill the two monsters ahead and enter the temple.
Be careful of these paper throwing ninjas. Kill them and the dancers, but seems
like the temple entrance is closed. No problem, just step on the trapdoor
that's being illuminated and you'll fall down. And into the boss room.
BOSS: Dancing Samurai
HP: 15 blocks of energy
Strategy:
The first thing to be careful here is having the boss touch you while it's
jumping around the place, just face him and swing your weapon when he's close,
that should stop him. One of his attacks is jumping into the air and then slam
down unto the ground, sending a shockwave around it, just stay away from his
landing spot. It can also summon ninjas to help him, take care of them while
keeping your eye on the boss since it follows you. Another of its attacks is
when he opens up his umbrella, it spits out this purple cloud that gets you if
you're close, then starts twirling its umbrella as a roullete, depending on
what it stops it's what you get. Dumplings, you get health. Skulls, you get
traps dropped on you from above, run from this. This boss is pretty easy to
beat, just stay away when it spits the purple cloud and take care of its
minions. Attack it when it jumps after you and it's close, should make it
flinch and stop from coming at you.
Defeating this boss gets you another cutscene, and the end of Chapter 2.
Change to Sasuke and use his Balloons to jump over the broken bridge up ahead,
then continue along the path. When you get to the Impact Block above, drop to
the mouth on the wall of the mountain to enter a secret cave. Kill the two
monsters in there and open the chest for a Golden Fortune Cat. Exit the cave
and climb up the mountain to the Impact Block, then use Sasuke's Cracker Bomb
to destroy the block, then let the boulder roll out of the way and proceed to
the next area of the map.
The guard ahead isn't gonna let you pass, so after speaking to him go to the
path to the right to get to the outskirts of the outpost.
Continue through this area taking care of the enemies until you get to the
house at the end. The guy living inside isn't gonna talk, but putting on the
Red Mask will fool the guy or something, but he'll speak. Choose his first
option when it is prompted, he'll charge 50 Ryo but this'll make the guard to
let you pass back at the outpost. So go back and speak with him to open the
path, but before you do a cutscene with the Painter will start.
The painter will ask of you of something, which you can get by going back to
the guy you spoke to earlier with the Red Mask, and with the charge of 50 more
Ryo you'll get what the Painter asks for. Go back to the outpost and talk to
him for a wallet upgrade. Now you can carry up to 300 Ryo. Now continue down
the outpost and exit through the south exit.
You'll immediatly trigger a cutscene after a few steps into this area, when the
cutscene ends you'll be left with the blown up Ebisumaru to deal with. Get
behind the inflated one and push him down south, you can roll over enemies with
Ebisumaru and kill them, so don't bother by getting out of route to swing your
weapons at them. Take Ebisumaru with you to the south exit for the next area.
You'll have to be careful in this area, if Ebisumaru rolls off of the path and
into the waters that aren't shallow he'll dissapear and to recover him you need
to go back to the area where Ebisumaru was inflated and into the first house
you see on the left, where a cutscene will start and you'll have Ebisumaru
back. To save you the trick save your game after entering a new area during
this task, so in case you drop Ebisumaru in the water just reset the game and
load up your game to start in that same area with Ebisumaru. Now, carefuly roll
Ebisumaru through this area, the exit you need to go to is to the path on the
left and over a bridge. Do this area slowly and carefuly.
This next area is worse. You start on a bridge and there's not much room for
you to navigate to the sides in case Ebisumaru rolls a bit off course so do it
slowly one small pad on the directional pad at a time. The bridge ends at a
slope which Ebisumaru will roll down it and into another slope that ends on a
patch of vegetation. These will be your traps in this area, and though not like
the water which will make you lose Ebisumaru, these keeps Ebisumaru in which
will make you jump after him and roll him up the slope at the beginning of the
path. The paths here are much more narrow than the last area, and if Ebisumaru
doesn't fall into the vegetation patch, he has the second choice of rolling
into the water and force you start ALL over again, so do this place slowly and
carefuly.
On the next area both your sides are deep water, so one drop of Ebisumaru means
starting over from the start. Need I repeat myself to roll Ebisumaru through
this slowly and carefuly? The part that will really give you a hard time is the
narrow bridge. After probably a few tries, getting Ebisumaru to the end of this
area will trigger a cutscene, this nice guy will take care of deflating
Ebisumaru, but until he does head down to the next area. A cutscene will
trigger when you reach the two guards at the end of this pathway, but too bad
the guards won't let you pass. Go back to the are where Ebisumaru was inflated,
we'll be getting Ebisumaru back shortly after this. If you noticed on the map
of that area, there's an exit to the right of where you needed to go with the
inflated Ebisumaru, go through that exit to a new area.
In this area it looks like an entrance to a fortress, but the door is closed.
To the right of the bridge there's a path, navigate through this area and at
the end you'll find Yae, triggering a cutscene. After the cutscene ends, you
need to find a way into the fortress. How? Simple! Go back to the old guy and
pick up the now deflated Ebisumaru, now we have that blue ninja back with us!
But we're not done yet in this area, go through the exit to the south back to
the path through the bamboos, now we can enter the Ninja Village!
__________________________________________________
-3.30 Ninja Town
__________________________________________________
Keep going all the way to the left through the next area and up to the house
on the last area, enter the house to trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene Yae
will join the group. Now go back to town and enter through the first double
door you see from the exit you just came from, and after the cutscene Ebisumaru
will learn his Ballerina tech. I know, weird, eh?
Now exit from town and return to the fortress entrance, navigate through the
path to the area behind the fortress where you found Yae. Use a Cracker Bomb to
destroy the grey block and use the Impact Gloves to pull the Impact Block close
to the edge for the boost needed to reach and jump to the top. Now use the new
Ballerina tech and press X to drill yourself on the strange looking rock to
break it and drop into a hole. Accept the offer to save your game.
The classic side-scrolling form of moving. Go on ahead taking care of the
enemies in your way. Ahead you'll find a gap, use a long range weapon to kill
the enemy on the other side and use Sasuke's Balloons to jump over the gap
safely. Ahead you'll find two more, jump over them while being careful of the
enemies waiting on the other side.
In the next area you'll find a swing. Grab onto it with the stylus and move it
to get closer to the desired platform, then jump off of the swing and onto the
platform. After the third swing you'll see an enemy and a flipper, kill the
bad guy and get onto the flipper, grab it with the stylus, pull it down and
release it to propell yourself up into the air and get yourself to the platform
above. There are two of these in this room, when you get to the top head on to
the next area.
Here you'll see dishes rotating on a stick. Place the stylus on the edge of the
dish and move the stylus from left to right continuesly, this'll cause the dish
to spin very fast that'll make it flat on the stick, making it safe to jump on
it as a platform. Jump on it and quickly jump to the kites, they too serve as
platforms here. Don't stay too long on the dishes, they'll gradually lose their
momentum and stop spinning as fast and begin to wobble, dropping you off and
down to your doom. On the last dish, use Sasuke's Balloons to make it over this
jump, then open the chest for a life recovery and continue to the next area.
A cutscene will appear in this next area, here you'll meet the Red Mask Leader.
After the cutscene, get ready for the boss battle.
BOSS: Giant Puppet
HP: 17 blocks of energy
Strategy:
The puppet's main attack is with its hands, they're not hard to avoid. When it
makes the creepy face its hands begin to swing back and forth, just jump over
them to dodge. To damage the boss jump and swing your weapon to hit the
stationary head, it'll leave 5 or 6 hits come in before covering its face and
attack again with the hands. You can't hurt the boss when it puts on that
weird creepy face, so wait 'till the face goes to normal to attack it again.
Continue jumping over the hands when it swings it and attack the head until it
dies.
With it dead, a cutscene starts. Accept the offer to save for your second
Impact fight.
__________________________________________________
-3.50 Second Impact Boss Fight
__________________________________________________
BOSS: Sumo robot
Strategy:
Not much of a hard fight. One attack of it is charging forward and ramming you
with its fat body, doesn't give much damage, and it's blockable. When the robot
ducks and a gun comes out from its head, it's about to put a bullet to Impact's
head so block it. The robot sometimes crunches down and slams its feet on the
ground, creating an earthquake that if you don't jump when it starts you'll
drop the Impact DS and Impact will shut down until you pick it up again. This
robot can defend too, but if you wait and throw a strong punch right when it
drops its defenses you can knock it back and daze the boss. Another attack of
the boss that you should be weary: When it lunges an arm back, be sure to block
it or get away, if it hits you Impact's head will rotate and end up backwards,
rendering your Laser and any projectiles useless.
When the boss' HP is half gone, it'll go red and get new attacks, such as
spinning with its arms out and taking the cover off of his head and using it as
a shield to ram you with it. Be wary of these attacks and waste him!
With the defeat of this robot, you'll get a cutscene and the end of Chapter 3!
Immediatly you'll confront enemies, take them down and switch to Sasuke to use
his balloons to jump accross the river, it's a bit hard to jump over. Continue
to the next area.
__________________________________________________
-4.10 Fireworks Town
__________________________________________________
Welcome to a new town! Go down the nearest exit to trigger a cutscene. You need
to enter into that house, but they're not gonna let you in. Go up one screen
and go to the left, where a bridge lies at the end. They're not gonna let you
pass, so enter into the house next to the bridge, this is the Inn. Go up to the
second floor to find the Painter again, giving you a wallet upgrade to hold up
to 500 Ryo. Now enter into the house next to the Inn to trigger a cutscene.
Once it's finished, go back to where that octopus guy ran into the house to
trigger that same scene again, but this time it'll be longer. With that scene
done, you can now cross the bridge those two guards were keeping you out of.
After crossing the bridge, go through the first exit you find to the south.
__________________________________________________
-4.10 Fireworks Town Outskirts
__________________________________________________
In this area you'll see a lonely house to the left, that's just a restaurant to
replenish your health. Continue south through this area and into the next one
while taking care of the enemies in your way.
In this next area you'll find seesaws crossing a gap, use the stylus to move
one side toward you and jump onto the platform. As usual with gravity, the end
you step one will obviously go down, so be careful with the jumps. I recommend
using Sasuke and his balloons here, just one drop can take 1 life. On the last
seesaw the platform must be up high for you to make the jump, so run to the
edge and without stopping jump off, with the balloons you should make it.
Continue down the area, you'll find a bunch of cockroaches(?) in the way. Use
your stylus and rub them(O_o) until they move and stay out of the way. With
that aside continue to the next area.

Creepy looking place, no? Enter into the second hut down on the left to find
Impostor Sasuke and Impostor Ebisumaru, triggering a cutscene. Yae will earn
her Mermaid Jutsu power, with this you can cross bodies of water without losing
health. Check out the lonely hut on the right, this guy is selling Yae's
special power, but at the cost of 500 Ryo. More info on these on their Special
Powers section at the end of this walkthrough.
Go back to where the cockroaches were, get into the water with Yae's new
ability and swim up to the lone patch of ground where an old guy is in. Tap him
with the stylus and he'll get off the mark on the ground, use Ebisumaru's
Ballerina technique to drill yourself into that mark and into a cave, starting
a cutscene and freeing an octopus mask guy, you need to rescue three of these
guys, and this is one of them. When the cutscene ends and you're out of the
cave, go back to the Fireworks Town Outskirts.

__________________________________________________
Go back to the restaurant next to the north exit if you need to replenish
health. Before exiting through the exit on the left of the map, jump to where
you see three rock enemies, you can drop to an edge behind them, use Yae's
Mermaid Jutsu and jump into the water, then follow the river to a solitary
island with a tree and the second octopus kid hanging there. Get to him to
trigger the cutscene of saving him. After the cutscene, return from where you
jumped into the water and exit through the exit on the left.
In this area there will be a body of water in front of you. Switch to Yae and
get into her Mermaid Jutsu form to cross it, quickly changing back to normal to
defend yourself of the enemies on the other side. Head to the right for a chest
containing a full upgrade and recovery item, then change to Yae's Mermaid
Jutsu form and cross the second body of water to the exit up ahead.
In this area get to the river and swim south to the platform on the right,
change back to normal and use Sasuke's Balloons to jump over the broken brigde.
Continue up ahead killing the enemies in your ways and use a Cracker Bomb to
light up the giant bomb. When it blows up, cross on the rope and enter into
the cave. A cutscene will start in there, rescuing the third octopus mask kid.
Time to head back to the Fireworks Town.

Return to the octopus mask gang's home, the door will be opened, enter and get
a cutscene. With the scene over, head ALL the way to the left, in the last area
to the left you'll find a very familiar tent, and of course another cutscene.
With the cutscene over, enter into the tent, where for some reason you find the
Goemon Impostor tied up and become acquianted with the Red Mask Leader, and
with the scene over, boss fight!
BOSS: BullDog (For lack of a better name)
HP: 20 blocks of energy
Strategy:
Most of you Goemon fans will recognize this boss. His first attack focuses on
the lanterns, they'll rotate to show an octopus face and they'll shoot a
cannonball at you. Your main target for now are these lanterns, take them down.
Though BullDog won't just stand there, he'll jump from side to side when one
lantern goes down and sometimes sidestep, making this a bit tricky.
When all four lanterns are gone (7 HP bars down), its pole will break down,
dropping down some goodies for you. Pick them up and get ready, BullDog will
spawn more lanterns, this time red. This time the lanterns will shoot out
fireballs, which follow you for a short time. Avoid these and strike at the
lanterns, they can go down with one hit of your Lv 3 Weapon, so try not to
get hit and lose this privaledge.
With these other four lanterns gone (7 HP bars left), the pole will start to
circulate and levitate BullDog like a helicopter, bombing you with explosives.
Wait 'till he lands and whack him on his lantern head. When 3 HP bars remains,
BullDog will lose the lantern head and reveal his face, changing his attacks.
He will breath fire from side to side, and if you're far away he'll jump into
the sky and land where you were standing, He'll also make explosives rain from
the sky and throw fireballs that follow you.
When BullDog is defeated you get a cutscene with the Goemon Impostor, and with
this cutscene wrapped up Chapter 4 is done.

-6.80 The Katakana puzzle
__________________________________________________
In this home there are three rooms: the left room, the middle room, and the
right room. This puzzle is kinda hard to do the first time. You got to write
the Katakana letters in the correct order, otherwise you'll fail and have to
do it all over again.
The first one you must do is the one in the right room, the letter is
"ho", you must do it in 4 moves.
The next letter to do next is the one in the left room, the "te". This one is
easier than the one in the right room, can be done in 1 move.
The final letter is the one in the middle room, the "i". Easily done in 1 move.
When you've done it all correctly, a sliding door in the middle room opens and
out comes an old guy, go through the cutscene to get another orb. If you
followed this walkthrough, this should be the 7th and final orb in your
collection! Yay! Now, return to the Peaceful town.
__________________________________________________
-6.90 Peaceful Town -Revisited-
__________________________________________________
Back into town, head left one screen, and with
the stylus knock on the door twice, pause, then knock four times to make the
guy open the door. You get a cutscene. When it ends, head out of town back to
the destroyed bridge, there you get another cutscene. When the cutscene ends
you've crossed the bridge with a flying ship, enter through the gates.
The new and upbeat music means another dungeon! Head through the other gates
and accept the offer of saving your game. Just beginning you see a hammer
hammering down on what seems to be a giant bowl of rice, cross it carefuly as
you sink into the rice and get slow in running, jump repeatedly to move through
this fast, I did it like this so I suggest it. After crossing that you'll find
two new enemies, look out for these, for they break in smaller pieces after you
defeat them once.
Up ahead there's another bowl of rice, this time with an enemy at the other
side shooting at you, defeat him with a projective attack and cross the bowl of
rice carefuly. After that you'll find a oven floor, stepping on it will damage
you, duh. Tap the white things with the stylus to lower them to the oven, jump
on it and wait until it cooks up and goes up. There will be more of these
things above so repeat the process.
Now in the second floor of this room, you'll have the bottom part of the hammer
for you to jump on, but there are also some enemies shooting at you at the
other side, just attack them with projectile weapons to defeat them and cross
without problems of them shooting you down the platform. Don't stay on the
platform of the hammer until they get all the way up, there are bamboos up
there and they hurt you. After crossing this part, you'll find more of the
white things to tap down to the oven and ride on them, the only difference is
that on the last one you have to jump to the platform while it's cooking or
else you could jump too high and not make it to the platform or just bump into
the bamboos above. After this you'll end up in another room.
In this room, you'll see a tasty-looking flan, but looks can be decieving, the
moment you jump onto it run like heck! A giant knife will slice the flan up
and you'll fall to your doom if you drop with the piece. Jump off the flan and
attack before you land on the ground to take out the rolling barrel or take
the damage and risk getting knocked off the platform. Jump onto the next flan
and run like heck to the end once again. This time, you'll have to jump onto
another flan and the next and the next without stopping, keep going until you
land onto a firm platform, be careful for two barrells this time. On the last
flan the knife will cut faster, so don't stop and get off of it at the end,
then continue to the next room.
In the next room, defeat the enemy in front of you and jump unto the rope, use
the stylus to pull it down and let go to send your character up into the air,
go to the left while in mid-air to get onto a platform, watch out for the
enemy. Keep goingup with the use of the ropes, taking care of the enemies
standing on the platforms waiting for you to throw an attack. At the last
platform, use Sasuke's balloons to jump high and far enough to make it to the
platform to the right, continue to the next room.
In this room you'll encounter the Red Mask leader once again, initiating a
cutscene, and then, a boss battle.
BOSS: Red Mask Leader
HP: 20 blocks of energy
Strategy:
He'll pretty much just float there shooting at you with cannonballs if you're
far off, and bullets to the ground if you're too close. Keep an eye out for
when he flies off to the background, he'll shoot bullets to the sky and it'll
rain down on you, keep an eye out where they land and dodge them, they're not
hard to. If it's cannonballs, there will be an arrow telling you where it's
dropping. He's not hard to take down, just avoid the bullets and strike at the
cannonballs to send them flying back at him to damage him.
After defeating him, you get a cutscene. When it's done, accept the offer to
save your game. After this you get a Goemon Impact boss fight.
__________________________________________________
-6.110 Third Impact Boss Fight
__________________________________________________
BOSS: Fish-like Robot
Strategy:
This fight has that epic feeling with the two robots in the background, you see
nothing but their silhouette. The boss gets down underwater, but its head
sticks out. At this point, you can't do much, strong punches that go low can
strike it, but it won't make it flinch. Block when it shoots up any cannonballs
and other attacks, when it gets up take that chance to attack it. Its attacks
are shooting cannonballs at you, create three spires of water to strike you
from underwater, these can be noticed though so you can tell where to go for
safety. The boss can shoot a shockwave that when it strikes you get paralized,
this attack is nasty but can be blocked and avoid getting paralized.
When its HP gets down to half, it is at this time that this boss fight gets
annoying, it spawns another copy and swims to the two edges of the arena, you
have to punch one and hope that's the boss or the real one will jump and shoot
cannonballs at you. This boss sometimes starts to twirl and create a huge
whirlpool, and when it sucks you in it throws you up in the air and do a lot
of damage, cancel this by punching it once
whenever you get close to it by the whirpool. Another attack is that it goes
underwater it takes a helpless water creatures or ships and hurls it at Impact,
block that or dodge it.
With that boss defeated, you get a cutscene and the end of Chapter 6.
In this new area, continue forward taking care of the enemies in your way,
you'll find yourself in a cave. Climb up the ladder in front of you and take
out the enemy above, then switch to Sasuke and use his balloons to jump over
the gap with the broken bridge. If needed, open the chest to the left to get
a complete health recovery item and weapon upgrade item, climb the ladder and
exit the cave.
You're now in an area with snow, go up the hill destroying the snowmen enemies
and take out the snowman on the ledge on the right, then jump onto the ledge,
use a projectile to take out the enemy on the other side and jump to it. After
climbing the ladder be careful of the giant snowball rolling down the hill
here, switch to Ebisumaru and use his nallerina suit to twirl under the snow
to save yourself from the snowball rolling unto you. Don't wait 'till you see
the snowball come into view or else you might twirl under the snow too late
and get caught by the snowball. Do it carefuly and walk around the octopus to
get out of the snowball's path, then you can safely kill the octopus or just
ignore it and continue to the next area.
In this area you'll find an entrance, but the guards won't let you through.
Continue along to the next area.

-7.10 Snow Town
__________________________________________________
Welcome to the town I'll refer to as Snow Town!
Head down one screen and take note of the giant double-doors in this area, head
right to exit the down, then head south and you'll find footprints in the snow,
follow one to the right and you'll find a chest, open it for a 1 Up. Go back
and continue south to a dead-end, there you'll find a woman. Tap her with the
stylus and take memorize her face. Now, return to town and enter through those
giant double-doors I told you about.
__________________________________________________
-7.20 The Face Puzzle
__________________________________________________
Inside you'll find a huge face with movable face parts, use the stylus and
arrange them in the same positions the woman in the snowfield outside of town
had them. When you got one of the pieces in the correct area, it'll
automatically lock itself in its corresponding place, just be careful not to
grab them again and move it elsewhere. The eyes are a bit in the hair so it can
be a bit hard to see them. When you've done this face puzzle correctly, the
face will come to life and the door to the left will open. Exit the house and
go to the right. In this next area enter through the double-doors ahead to find
another face puzzle. Arrange the pieces in the same order as before and you'll
unlock another door. Exit the face puzzle room and go through the unlocked
door.

__________________________________________________
Jump to the right to cling unto the edge and climb up, make your way through
the area while killing the enemies standing in your way, climb up the cliff at
the end and keep going through the next area.
This area can be hard due to all the enemies here needing to take multiple
damage with your Lv. 1 weapon, so be careful. Follow the right path to find a
chest, don't open it! Opening it will reveal one of those whirlwind possum
enemy. At the end of the area you'll see a pond with a pink item floating
above it, rub it with the stylus to get it to fall underwater and a second face
woman will rise from the ground and meet ya. Like the last one, memorize her
face. Return to town.

-7.30 Face Puzzle 2
__________________________________________________
In the area with two double-doors and the old man, enter through one on the
right to return to the second face puzzle room, arrange the face to the one
you just memorized. Doing it correctly will open another door, now go through
that door.
The next area is a part of the Snow Town, cross the bridge to the next area.
No enemies! Yay!

-7.40 Snow Town -Revisited-
__________________________________________________
Not really the same Snow Town from before, but theoricaly another part of the
town. Head up one screen. If you go into the huge room in the middle of this
area you'll trigger a cutscene with the Emperor of this town, though nothing
happens from this cutscene...
Try to go through the door with the mechanical gears to the left of this area
and you'll trigger a cutscene. When it's done enter through the mechanical
doors to trigger another cutscene with the Red Mask leader.
__________________________________________________
-7.50 Snow Town -Revisited-
__________________________________________________
When the cutscene ends, head through the left exit, tap the woman who's lying

on the ground with the stylus to trigger a cutscene. And like last time,
memorize her face. Now, head back to the bridge and cross it back to the area
with the face puzzle room, enter and rearrange the face features to match the
one we just memorized to unlock the last door of the area. Exit the room and go
through the door we just unlocked.
Well, here we are! The eight dungeon. Accept the offer to save and go into the
dungeon.
Jump over the gap to the box full of seafood, be careful of the shrimp that
jump out of these to attack you, kill it and use the stylus to open up the fan.
Jump on it and over the gap to the next box, watch out for this one as the
cover of this box springs up and it might mess up your jump and send you
plummiting down to your doom. Tap the spiky enemy to make it bring in its
spikes and attack it to kill it. Continue forward, tapping on the fans to
open them and jump on them to cross the gaps, use Sasuke's balloons if you're
unsure you're capable of jumping over the gaps by yourself. A bit ahead you'll
have to open up fans one after the other so do it quick before the one you're
stepping on closes and drops you. After these, go to the next area.
In this area, before jumping down, tap the spiky ball to make it retract its
spikes, then jump down and use the stylus to pull down the platform to make
your character fly up to the next one. On the second one, use Sasuke's balloons
to fly up higher than usual to make it to the other nose spring, but tap the
spiky enemy first so you won't take damage. On the third one, do the same but
be careful of top enemies that fly around. After the third one, head to the
next area.
In this next area, rub the platform you're standing on back and forth to make
it spawn a platform. If the platform is gold with red katakana, it gives you a
dumpling, if it's brown, nothing. But if another color, it'll drop a pan on you
that hurts a lot of you don't dodge it. Jump over the gap to the next one, take
out the enemy on the next platform before it gets you. In the second one, rub
it to make it spawn the platform and hop to the next one. In the third one, the
platform will spawn upward, jump on it and jump to the rope platform above
quick before it retracts this platform and be careful of the enemies shooting.
After this one, rub another one to get to the other, be careful of what it'll
throw at you, either a dumpling or a trap. Continue to the next area.
In this next one, the colors of the spawning thing is now yellow, and they
don't spawn any surprises. Switch to Sasuke and use his balloons and stand on
the spawning thing, rub it until the stick comes out and sends Sasuke up into
the air and out of view, use the arrow to tell where Sasuke is and safely land
onto the next one. Be careful though, sometimes it'll spawn a dark brown stick,
this one doesn't spring you high and you would surely plummit down to your
demise. Wait 'till you get sprung up by a light brown stick or a golden stick.
When you reach the end, open the chest in front of you for a three heart health
recovery item and proceed to the next area. Time for a cutscene.
BOSS: Red Mask Leader
HP: 20 blocks of energy
Strategy:
He's pretty much the same as last time, except for a new attack which involves
that wheel stuck on his ship to come off and spin at you. Also, now his
bullets erupts fire unto the ground when it lands, so be extra careful of
these. Though, when his HP drops to half, he throws two of his spinning fire
wheels, one that rolls on the ground at ya, and the second one bounces. Jump
over the one that rolls on the ground and stand when the other one bounces
over you. Just fight him as before but with a bit more of caution, whack at
him when he falls down stunned and attack his cannonballs when he's in the
background to hurl them back at him. Remember, two strikes of these is 1 block
of damage.
With his defeat, you get a couple of cutscenes, and with these cutscenes
finished the chapter ends.
When the chapter begins, talk to the Warp Man and warp back to Home Town. A
cutscene will automatically begin. When you regain control, head up the path
to find the two guards on the ground, go through the gate that they were
guarding. Accept the offer to save and continue.
__________________________________________________
-8.10 Final Dungeon
__________________________________________________
Here we go! Endgame time!
In this room you'll have to be careful with the doors in the background, some
of them break down and an enemy will drop through to your path. Though if you
pay attention, you can tell which door is gonna fall down. This room is easy,
just go on murdering the enemies in your path and continue on to the next room.
In this next room, switch to Sasuke and use his balloons to jump over the gap
and unto the nose spring. Use the stylus to pull the nose spring down and
spring yourself up, tap the spiky enemies to make them draw in their spikes
and go through them unharmed. You have to climb up this room in a zig-zag
pattern, spring up to the left unto a platform, jump over the gap to the next
nose spring. Rinse, and repeat. There's an enemy shooter at the last platform
to the left, but you can avoid that platform by just getting unto the one on
the right from the nose spring, just be careful of the spiky enemy at the
middle of the gap, which can be easily to spring into. Continue to the next
area.
In this next room you have to hitch a ride on an arrow and use the stylus to
shoot it with the bow, I recommend using Sasuke's balloons for safety. In the
second bow and arrow you have to time the shooting to avoid the rising and
falling spikes. Go on through this room carefuly, it can be easy to plummet to
your doom if you're not taking this slowly and carefuly. Take your time and
continue on to the next room.
In this room use the stylus on the gray rubber band to spring yourself upward,
get to the ledge on the right, but be careful of an enemy waiting for you
there. Attack the enemies in your way, always remembering there's always an
enemy waiting for you at the ledges after every rubber band spring. At the last
place with the small floating wooden board, use Sasuke's balloons to jump over
the gap and continue to the next area.
In the next area jump and strike the chest on the roof behind you to release a
Gold Fortune Cat, get it to get full life recovery and full weapon upgrade.
Continue forward and use Sasuke's bombs to destroy the Impact blocks. To jump
over the ledge ahead you'll need Sasuke's balloons and of course a little luck.
Charge for the ledge and jump when you're at the edge or close to it, you
should be able to make it. Jump onto the swing in the next gap, with the stylus
swing the swing and throw Sasuke's bomb at the Impact block to destroy it, then
jump to the ledge the block was blocking you. Continue to the next area.
Jump over the gap carefuly by using the floating platforms, continue on and
you'll find a bridge made out of wooden platforms, these fall if you stay on
them for a while, so don't stay put. Take out the enemies carefuly and cross
it. Continue to the next room.
Geez, this is a long and tough dungeon...
You'll have to use another bow and arrow on this one, slam the arrow unto the
bullseye target and spring to the platform with the arrow's tail using Sasuke's
balloons. Destroy the enemy occupying your platform and jump onto it, then to
another bow and arrow, avoid the double spike platforms and strike the
bullseye, attack the enemy occupying your other platform and spring up to it
with the arrow's tail, jump over the gap and to the next area. I highly
recommend Sasuke's balloons in this room.
In the next room you get a cutscene, then time for a boss battle.
FINAL BOSS: Betraying Emperor
HP: A lot that crosses to the other side of the screen ><
Strategy:
His first attack is stomping the ground and having petals drop to the ground.
Don't underestimate these petals, they blow up when they touch the ground,
they're easy to avoid though. The trick to hit the Emperor is to wait for
enemies to drop ironballs at you, strike them to send them to the background
where the Emperor is. Each strike nails two blocks of damage, but the Emperor
moves from side to side of the screen, aim well and strike the balls. After
the balls he'll do the petals attack again, easy to avoid. Sometimes the
enemies that throw ironballs at you will appear on the ground instead of on
the roof, but the trick is the same, strike the balls to send them back at
the Emperor, as his HP goes down he'll move back and forth faster, making it
easier or hard to strike with the balls, depending on your aim. The floor you
stand on begins to shake when you stand on them, if you stay too long it'll
flip down and drop you to a room with a rubber band to use the stylus to
spring on, there will be enemies down there that'll zoom to you and damage
you, attack them to send them flying up, and when it's clear don't waste time
and spring yourself up into the air. Doing so you'll make the Emperor flip
back off his chair, if this does or doesn't give him damage I dunno, but I
guess it does.
When the Emperor is really hurt the enemies that appear on the ground will
throw you axes instead of ironballs, you can't reflect the axes back at the
Emperor so jump over them or attack them to destroy them. When that happens
only the enemies from the roof will throw you the ironballs, and sometimes the
ones on the ground. This is a long battle, not too hard either, just avoid the
petals and try your best not to fall through the floor often and strike that
those ironballs with good aim and you should be fine, though have an armor
piece and a riceball just in case you're low on health.
Defeating him triggers a cutscene (duh!), accept the offer to save and get
ready for the final Impact boss fight!
__________________________________________________
-8.20 Final Impact Boss Fight
__________________________________________________
FINAL BOSS: Winged Emperor
Strategy:
This boss hits HARD! Even blocking his attacks can still drain your HP.
He can block too, the son of a...
At least some of his attacks can be cancelled. When the Winged Emperor
flies up to give you flying kicks, do a left quick jab when he gets
close to knock him down, blocking does well but don't get used to blocking
or you'll suffer a slow death, even blocking his attacks hurt. His other
attack is extending his nose and whack you with it, if he hits you with this
your head will roll backwards, thus leaving your projectiles and laser mouth
useless. His other attack is summoning some projectiles from the sky and down
at you.
When the HP gets down to half, he'll have new attacks. When he flies, he'll
get close to you and drop giant balls, you can back off and dodge that, his
other attack though, it's nasty. He'll get over you and if you let him grab
you, he'll do about three backflips and slam Impact to the ground, this
HURTS! Another is that he flies up and drops on you in a spinning attack.
Another that hurts is his laser attack. Even if you block this one, it hurts.
A lot. His projectile attack changed to throwing at you asteroids instead
of little things, you can deflect these back to the boss for a lot of damage.
This boss is hard, and it'll take you a few tries, but it's actually pretty
fun at finding out the ways to deflect and throw its own attacks against it.
There you have it! Once you defeat Winged Emperor, congratulations! You've
finished Goemon DS! Watch the cutscene to follow and enjoy the ending! You
have a choice of saving your game or not, so that's up to you!
-NEW AGED GOEMON CAMEO
In the dungeon in the Possessed Village, check the jail-cell next to Monoshiri
Wiseman. The Goemon of the New Aged series will be there, apparently doing
some hard time from a crime. Maybe the New Aged series wasn't successful in
Japan?
-ALTERNATE COSTUMES
There are a total of 30 Elephant Statues in the game, one for each character.
Goemon's is the New Aged version of himself, Ebisumaru in a sumo outfit,
Sasuke in a casual ninja outfit, and Yae in a school uniform. The way to find
these statues is to tap at specific points in the background for them.
Refer to Bendilin's Elephant Statue Guide for the location of these statues.
