1. Version History

Version 0.90 (2/1/2010): First written guide. Have every thing covered
except most of the magical rod list.

2. Introduction

Game Center CX Arino no Chosenjou 2 is a fun collection of original
retro type games. If you have played the first game, Retro Game Challenge
in America, then I highly recommend you import this sequel because it has
more to offer and more variety in the games than the original. As a note,
most games require little to no Japanese to play except for three of the
games. This guide will cover the first of the nine main games, Wiz Man.

3. Controls

Control Pad: Move character in that direction.

A Button: Cast flame from wand.

Start Button: Pause/Unpause game.

4. Cheats

Left+Start Simultaneously at Game Over Screen: Continue from the floor you
died on.

Up, Up, A, A, B, B at the Title Screen: Start from any floor.

5. Gameplay

This game is played a lot like Pac Man. Your goal is to collect all the
dots in the floor while avoiding or killing the enemies. Once all the dots
have been collected, the exit will appear and you can make your way to the
exit while still dealing with the enemies.

In order to kill enemies and collect the dots, you must the correct color
rod. The rod comes in three colors: red, blue, and yellow(magical). The
blue and red rods always appear on the floor. When you collect your first
blue or red rod, you can start collecting dots of the same color rod you
have. If you want to start collecting the other color dots, you must grab
the other color rod. In order to rack high scores, you can collect the big
dots in the order the are flashing. Once you collect a non-flashing big dot,
no more big dots will appear in the floor for you current life. Also, if you
collect a certain number of flashing big dots on certain floors, you can
warp ahead to the next floor. However, if you don't complete the following
floor with your current life, you will be sent back to the previous level.

You can collect up to three of the same color rod. With each rod you have,
you cane have that many flames on the screen at a time. Once you collect a
different color wand, you will be back to only one of the wand you just
collected. If you die, you will start the floor again with no rods. If you
satisfy certain conditions, the magical rod will appear in the middle of the
level. If you get the magical rod, all the blue and red rods on the screen
will disappear for that level and you will only be able to collect only the
magical rods. This may sound bad, but the magical rod is the only rod that
will let you collect any color dot and kill all four colors of an enemy.
Also every certain amount of collected dots will make a piece of treasure
appear. Get the treasure for more points.

There are four different color types for the enemy. The specifics of each
enemy can be found in the enemies section of the guide. The enemies can
come in white, blue, red, and black. The white enemies can be killed with
any of the three wands. The blue wand only kills red enemies. And the red
wand kills only blue enemies. The magical rod kills any color enemy, and is
the only wand that can kill black color enemies.

The game basically comes in sections of four. All 32 floors have the same
objective. However, on the first and third floors of each section, you can
collect bonus coins. Collecting bonus coins is a great way to increase your
score and gain many extra lives. For every 100 bonus coins, a 1-up tomato
will appear in the middle of the level. In order to make the bonus coins
appear, you have to collect the bonus bell which will appear once you fulfill
certain conditions. When you get the bell, all rods, dots, and enemies
disappear. Any treasure still on the screen can still be collected. The
number of bonus coins that will appear corresponds to the number of total
dots you have collected for the current floor. Therefore, it is best to
collect the bonus bell when you have collected all the stag's dots. Once you
gain control, a timer will start for the bonus round. Collect as many bonus
coins before time runs out. When you collect all the coins or when time runs
out, the floor will resume as normal with any 1-ups still appearing in the
middle of the screen.

The second floor in each section allows you to collect a key. The key will
appear once certain conditions are fulfilled. The fourth floor in each
section is when the key you collected is used. After certain conditions are
fulfilled, a treasure chest will appear. If you have a key from the previous
floor, you can use it to collect treasure from the chest for a 10,000 points.
The fourth floor is also when a new enemy is introduced.

After each completion of a section of four floors, a new screen will appear.
The screen shows how many dots and bonus coins you have collected for the
section you have just completed. Then bonus points will be added to your
score. When the bonus points have been added, the game will start the next
section of four floors. This will repeat until you complete all 32 floors.

6. Enemies

6.1 Ghosts

Ghosts are the basic enemies of the game. They are first introduced in
stage 1. They move at a slow pace. They only come in white and can be
destroyed with any rod. Killing them will give you 30 points.

6.2 Fire

Fire enemies are slow moving enemies as well. But they come in blue or red,
which means you need the correct wand to kill them. They are first
introduced in the first floor. Killing them will give you 50 points.

6.3 Rotating Fireball

Rotating Fireballs are the same as the fire enemies, but faster and smarter.
They are first introduced in floor four. They come in all four colors. They
give you 80-150 points.

6.4 Dragon

Dragons are first introduced in floor eight. They move at a slow pace, but
are dangerous because the can shoot a ball of fire at you. You can
extinguish the ball of fire with any color wand. They give you 250-500
points.

6.5 Knight

Knights are first introduced in floor 12. They move at a fast pace. They
come in all four colors. But the white knight has a different sprite. The
give you 200-300 points.

6.6 Black Bat

Black bats are first introduced in floor 16. They move slowly, but only
come in black. Therefore, the only way to kill it is with the magical rod.
They only give you 60 points though.

6.7 Wizard

Wizards are the most difficult enemies to deal with in the game. They don't
move, but teleport around the floor. Sometimes, they can teleport to places
where you can't avoid death. If that wasn't bad enough, the shoot a beam
that will stun you temporarily and make you lose any rods that you have
collected. The beam will not pass through walls. My advice is to ignore them
unless you can score an easy hit. Killing them only gives you 150-300 points.

6.8 Boss

He only appears in floor 42. If you clear floor 32 without killing him,
then the floor will reset and you will have to repeat the floor. Killing
him and clearing the floor is the only way to complete the game. He behaves
just like the wizard, but can shoot his beam in all 4 cardinal directions
and will go through walls. He has no color and can be damaged with any wand.
His death will give you 800 points.

7. Item List
