1. Introduction
========================================

Hello. In case you don't go to the GameFAQ Boards and haven't seen my
contributor info or Fire Emblem 6 Support FAQ, I am Juigi, elder half of the
Kario Brothers, who are ripoffs of the Mario Brothers (from the Mario
series). My email address is [email protected] . (Yep, it's changed. Don't
bother sending emails to [email protected] or [email protected] .)
But enough of that.

Fire Emblem is a Strategy RPG series that has yet to be in America. So why
are Marth (from Fire Emblem 1 and 3) and Roy (from Fire Emblem 6) in Super
Smash Bros. Melee? Because SSBM was made in Japan. Both characters were the
Lord/Leader of an army in their respective games, so they needed to survive
for you to avoid Game Over.

Now I'm not going to write a walkthrough for this game. *GASP* But I will
make a base stats reference to help players make use of the Class Swap
system. This should be especially useful with the existence of negative
growths that can ruin some characters' power stats.

Oh yeah, about me:

And by the way, DO NOT SEND THE FOLLOWING TO MY EMAIL ADDY OR IM ME WITH THE
FOLLOWING:

*Anything over half a Megabyte without me approving of it first. My box is
getting spam often enough as it stands.
*Flames. They will not be tolerated. You will instead get counterflamed AND
blocked.
*Criticism unless it is good enough. Since it is harsh enough on its own, it
won't be tolerated either, but you'll just be blocked.
*Spam. I get enough of it already. You'll be counterspammed, flamed, AND
blocked all at once, and if you think of blocking me first, I'll report you
to your email service if you do this.
*Prejudice. Yes, I am listing this and I'm sick of it to no end. Long story.
If you decide to be prejudiced, you'll be reported.
*Any information I find/know to be false. You will be malleted as a warning,
and if you continue, you'll be blocked as well.
*Any unreasonable attempts to be funny. This includes but is not limited to
"I can't get in the FAQ. Get in it for me, Juigi", "I have a suggestion:
EVERYBODY dies", and such. None of that is funny, and instead, you will be
blocked on the spot if you even try.
*Translation flames. Things like "Archanea" and the ridiculously hard to
pronounce "Talys" can (expletive statement deleted). I will use the names
that work with a suitable translation. I'm certainly not going to revamp my
FAQ over it. Bash me over it and you'll be treated as a spammer. Just to let
you know before you say something, Kain has red hair, Abel has green, Barts
has blue hair, Saji is the stronger twin, and Maji the faster. I'm just
using an order I prefer, but Abel joins before Kain in the prologue chapters.

Excuse me if I'm being harsh; I just don't want any trouble. Strict? That I
have no problem with. If you want to report anything though, do so, but be
nice about it. Now, without further ado, onto the FAQ!

2. Version notes
========================================

*Version 0.97 (10/24/2008) - well, this FAQ has been made, and handles what
I find suitable for the quick referencing for people who want to make use of
Class Swap.

========================================
3. Basics
========================================

So you're wondering what the stats do. Well, that's what I'll tell you:

*HP - Hit/Health Points. Determines how much punishment altogether a unit
can take before he/she will bite the dust. Given the game's setup, you can
expect growths to be high.
*Strength - this affects attack power with physical weapons. If it's not a
tome or magic-imbued weapon, add this to the equipped weapon's might to get
the basic attack rating. This value is also the maximum amount of weight
that can be ignored when weight is subtracted from Speed to determine Fight
Speed--but since the highest Weight is 11 in this game, once your characters
have double digit Strength, you're pretty much not going to care. Mage
classes will have negative growths in this area.
*Magic Power - this affects attack power with tomes, wands, and magic-imbued
weapons. Actually, Wands have healing power instead of attack power, but you
get the point. Anyway, add this to the tome or magic-imbued weapon's might
to determine attack power. Half of a unit's Magic Power is added to how many
HPs (per unit for the Reserve Wand) is restored by a healing wand. (It's a
base of 8 for the Live and Reblow Wands, and 15 for the Relieve Wand. The
Recover Wand already restores a unit fully.) Physical classes except
Mamkutes have negative growths in this. Magic Power in general likes to be
low too, probably so that this sticks to the original.
*Skill - this is added to the equipped weapon's Hit rate to determine a
unit's basic Hit rate (in other words, without anything else including Luck)
and slightly affects his/her Critical Hit rate. You just need to keep it at
a decent level to hit enemies. Other than that, don't bother unless you want
to use Kill weapons or something; the Critical Hit rate boost is bound to
just get cancelled by the Luck stat's boost to the Block rate. The growth
gaps between the swappable classes are surprisingly small too, though not
between characters.
*Speed - this is a unit's maximum Fight Speed. If a unit uses a weapon with
higher weight than his/her Strength, the difference is subtracted from
his/her Speed to determine Fight Speed. What Fight Speed does is that it
determines basic Evade rate (again, with nothing else including Luck), and
more importantly, it helps determine if a unit gets to double attack or has
to fear being double attacked. To get double attacks, the unit must have 4+
Fight Speed more than the opponent when attacking.
*Luck - this is not added to Critical Hit rate; rather, this is added to Hit
and Evade rate slightly, determines the unit's basic Block rate (which is
subtracted from the enemy's Critical Hit rate to determine their Critical
Hit rate in a given round of combat; of course, you only need 15 Luck to
cancel out the boost from 30 Skill), and reduces the jinx chance from Devil
weapons, which have become more plausible to use as backup weapons, believe
it or not.
*Physical Defense - determines how much punishment from a physical attack is
reduced. You subtract this value from the enemy's attack power if they're
using a sword, lance, axe, or bow (that isn't magic-imbued) to determine
damage, which can't be negative before you get the bright idea of having
Armor or Dragon Knights attack Fencers. Still, you can probably see why the
only way this growth hits 40% or above for anybody is via being one of the
broken growth duo or being an Armor Knight. And the only person (besides the
broken growth duo) with anywhere over 50% Physical Defense growth is Daros
as an Armor Knight (60%). Magic classes have negative growths in this too.
*Magic Defense - determines how much punishment from a magic attack is
reduced. Same deal as Physical Defense, but this applies for when the
enemy's weapon is a tome or magic-imbued. All physical classes have negative
growths in this, probably to prevent overpowered ratings that would turn
tome attacks from free damage into stuff that can be laughed off, which made
Chapter 23 in the original a joke.
*Movement Power - determines how many spaces a unit can move on basic
terrain. This has no growth whatsoever, and can only be boosted by Boots or
changed otherwise by class swapping or promotion.
*Movement Type (not shown) - determines how well a unit can move on certain
terrain. Terrain have something called Movement Costs for each Movement Type
that determine how much Movement Power is needed to move onto the space,
with the basic prarie having a measly 1 Movement Cost for all units.
Movement Type is solely dependant on the unit's class. (It's an attribute
anyway.)
*Level - the unit's experience level. This caps at 20, higher for units that
can't change classes at all.
*Experience - how much experience a unit has gained past their last level
up. For every 100 experience (each point having less value at higher
levels), a unit levels up and gets stat boosts. There's some degree of luck,
because the stat boosts are based on growths. Hopefully, you won't be shot
out of anything but HP and/or Skill too frequently.

There is no Weapon Level stat anymore; instead, your units have Weapon Ranks
for 6 weapon types: Sword, Lance, Axe, Bow, Tome, Wand. Yep, the Weapon
limits are far improved over Silver Sword Spam with a lot of people having
10+ Weapon Level that caps at 20. There aren't even many people anymore
fighting over things like the Gladius or the Partia, certainly not before
you can just work with the Silver stuff.

Anyway, Weapon Ranks also affects performance with equipped weapons. If your
unit gets the weapon triangle advantage (remember: Sword swerves around Axe,
Axe overpowers Lance, Lance outreaches Sword), you get +5% to Hit and Evade.
Big deal. However, if the Weapon Rank for the type of weapon you have
equipped is C rank, it's 10%, and if it's A Rank, you get +1 to Attack and
Defense during advantage as well. Also, when you have the weapon type
equipped, you get boosts: at C and A ranks each, it's +1 to Attack unless
the weapon type is Axe, in which case it's 5% to Hit (why only 5%?). At B
rank, it's 5% to Hit unless the weapon type is Sword in which case it's +1
to Attack. These boosts stack with each other, but will be erased completely
during weapon triangle disadvantage.

There's some more information on serenesforest.net. In fact, a lot of the
information in this FAQ comes from there. (The Weapon Ranks thing, I
actually found for myself--but Serenes Forest may have obtained the
information on their own. Who is to say. Of course, who deserves credit
doesn't matter all that much, I'm making a quick reference FAQ.)

(By the way, I name the healer class of BOTH genders Cleric because it's
easier to handle. The game calls the female ones "Sisters" but the class is
basically the same.)

4. Character stats
========================================

Please note that these stats are actually what's added to the class bases.
You would find a character having 0 HPs stupid, right?

*Sex determines both Cleric stats (males get +1 in Speed and +2 in Physical
Defense, females get 2 more points in Magic Defense), the usable mounted
class in the Finesse set of classes if unpromoted (Social Knights for males,
Pegasus Knights for females), and availability of using certain items.
*Base class should tell you which set of classes the character can switch
with. Social Knights (male), Pegasus Knights (female), Fencers, Archers,
Clerics, and Magicians are the Finesse set with their promoted equivalents
in the promoted version; and Mercenaries, Armor Knights, Axemen, Hunters,
Pirates, and Dark Mages are the Brute set, again with promoted equivalents
in the unpromoted version. Lords, Thieves, Shooters, Mamkutes, and Commandos
can't switch classes at all, but they have higher level caps.
*The Weapon Rank requirements are as follows:
-D - +30
-C - +75
-B - +135
-A - +195
Please note that the ones shown in the chart above are actually added to the
amount needed for the class's base Weapon Rank.

My commentary:
*What in the--you have got to be kidding me. Nearly everybody starts with
around NO Magic Defense of their own. They rely on the class stats. There
are only 7 characters altogether getting any boosts, but only 4 of them get
any more than 1 point: 2 Gaiden chapter units (both late game Gaidens too),
Chiki who is a Mamkute (the late game one at that), and Gato who joins in
the last chapter. It's ridiculous when Altea Princess Alice can have NO
Magic Defense. (Of course, if by chance you're planning to use Alice, I
don't advise making her into a class that relies on strenghs with Magic
Defense as a weakness to begin with. Of course, if you do, it's most likely
your Alice's funeral.)
*Most of the late joins have standard at best bases. What in the world?
Aran's bases are downright terrible for his level, and Samson's aren't much
better either. But Hymir and maybe Etzel manage to be workable, so the game
sounds like it asks you to sacrifice 30+ characters to some dark God to get
a few lone figures that still would probably get outclassed.
*Wait a minute. Since nearly everybody has little extra Magic Power as well,
I'm guessing they were intending to go with keeping the game close to the
original, where everybody not named Gato had no Magic Defense at the start,
and spells couldn't have their power boosted.

5. Class stats
========================================

First, I'm going to display the base stats of the classes, and I'll separate
them into several tables to make comparisons easier. (Oh, and by the way,
Luck is not listed because all classes have a base Luck of 0.)

*Finesse set:

|==============================================================|
|Class         |HP|Str|MPw|Skl|Spd|PDf|MDf|Mov|Weapon ranks    |
|==============================================================|
|Social Knight |18|  5|  0|  2|  6|  7|  0|  9|Sword E, Lance E|
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Pegasus Knight|16|  4|  2|  5|  7|  5|  6|  8|Lance E         |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Archer        |16|  5|  0|  3|  4|  6|  0|  5|Bow E           |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Fencer        |16|  3|  0|  9| 11|  4|  0|  7|Sword E         |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Mage          |16|  0|  3|  1|  3|  2|  3|  6|Tome E          |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Cleric        |16|  0|  1|  1| *3| *1|**6|  5|Wand E          |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|

Notes:
*Social Knight is only available to males ans Pegasus Knight to females.
*Cleric gets boosts based on gender. The * and ** indicate which gender.
Males get +1 to Speed and +2 to Physical Defense, and females get +2 to
Magic Defense.

My commentary:
*Social Knights is the only class in this set with boosted HP (lowest base
HP out of ALL classes is 16), and it gets the best Strength and Physical
Defense. But Speed is average at best and you'll have to look elsewhere for
Skill. Use the weapon triangle, that's their strength in this set. (They
also have 9 Movement Power, but that will barely get them 3 spaces through
Forests.)
*Pegasus Knights are kind of all-arounders, with slight emphasis on Skill
and Speed. Just keep ready for axe or bow using enemies. The flying mobility
isn't useful if the unit itself can't do anything after all.
*Archers have overall worse stats than the Social Knights, but stats aren't
everything; they can use bows, which actually don't miss the axe users. It's
a similar case with the Mages, who basically provide free damage despite all
those overall terrible stats; and even Clerics, whose healing Wands are
invaluable even through the nerfing they got in comparison to the previous
game.
*Fencers? Well, they do move far without being vulnerable to bows or axes,
or having too much difficulty with rough terrain, and they are very skilled
and fast, so hitting and avoiding double hits is far more frequent. Just
hope their Strength and Physical Defense gets somewhere so that they can
work with their swords.
*Mage and Clerics aren't exactly stat kings, but who is going dispute free
damage? Or some healing, even nerfed from what we have had in past games.

*Finesse Promoted set:

|Bishop        |22|  1|  3|  2|  4|  3|  8|  6|Tome E, Wand D  |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|

Note:
*Falcon Knights are only obtainable by promoting Pegasus Knights with the
Elysian Whip, which is only buyable online.

My commentary:
*Snipers......what a huge boost to their stats. They went from having
virtually second worst overall to virtually second best stats. And their
Movement Type considerably improved from the Social Knight based garbage to
competing with the Brute class set for Movement Type. Of course, they're
still helpless in close range.
*Paladins rely a bit on power, but otherwise are all-around. 10 Movement
Power is quite useful in open fields too, and makes them backline
candidates for tight spaces where their mobility will still crash, even if
it has improved, climbing Mountains at 6 Movement Cost for example.
*Falcon Knights......I understand they're less extreme than they were in
prior games, but they still should have a speed edge on Dragon Knights. What
is going to obsolete Dragon Knights anyway? Their mobility is obscene. Their
power is obscene. Their use of axes that will quickly off mages or archers
is obscene. Urgh. A Speed weakness for Dragon Knights would have been easy
to justify.
*By the way, see that every class in this set that can use lances has a
minimum lance rank of D? This means any unit with this class set can use
Javelins if they're able to use lances.
*Swordmasters are very reliant on Speed. But hey, if they can actually learn
how to damage enemies effectively on individual strikes....
*Like before, the mages have garbage stats. But who is going to dispute free
damage? Though I agree with the person who told me online that Falcon
Knights having excess speed would obsolete Swordmasters (which would be
true) about something about Bishops: Magic Defense should affect wand power.
Then there's an incentive to have them be your healers and they won't be
near useless.

*Brute set:

|==============================================================|
|Class         |HP|Str|MPw|Skl|Spd|PDf|MDf|Mov|Weapon ranks    |
|==============================================================|
|Mercenary     |16|  4|  0|  8| 10|  5|  0|  7|Sword E         |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Armor Knight  |18|  6|  0|  2|  0| 11|  0|  5|Lance E         |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Axeman        |20|  5|  0|  1|  7|  3|  0|  6|Axe E           |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Pirate        |18|  5|  0|  1|  6|  4|  0|  6|Axe E           |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Hunter        |18|  6|  0|  4|  6|  3|  0|  6|Bow E           |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Dark Mage     |16|  0|  2|  1|  3|  4|  3|  6|Tome E          |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|

My commentary:
*Without the Armor Knight class, the general Physical Defense would be
outright terrible. Of course, Dark Mage would still have higher than its
Finesse set counterpart, but that doesn't say much, 4 is still not all that
much. But the HP is better, so they can at least weather individual attacks
if that helps.
*Armor Knights are what you expect from them: high Physical Defense, low
Speed, Magic Defense, and Movement Power, and their Movement type is
terrible still.
*Mercenarys......what do you expect? What you see is what you get. Their
Movement Type is the same as the Fencer's too.
*Axemen and Pirates will be relying a bit on having natural Strength to keep
up with their axes' weight, but their Speed is actually not that bad. Oh
yeah, their Movement Types are a bit stronger, but on different terrain:
Axemen with 3 cost on Mountains, and Pirates with 2 cost on Rivers and Sea.
*Hunters have surprising Skill for this class set, not that that is their
best point. They use bows, and are a good deal better than their Finesse set
counterparts during this stage. Most notable is their Movement Type
advantage that lets them get anywhere in rough terrain.
*Dark Mages.....same deal as Mages. Sorry, Doga, no Wands for you....yet.
But you do get a consolation prize in better Physical Defense, not that that
will save your butt at a still low amount.

|==============================================================|
|Class         |HP|Str|MPw|Skl|Spd|PDf|MDf|Mov|Weapon ranks    |

|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|Sorcerer      |22|  2|  3|  2|  4|  4|  6|  6|Tome D, Wand E  |
|--------------------------------------------------------------|

My commentary:
*Again, not that much difference between Heroes and Swordmasters besides
growth. They have the same Movement Type too.
*FIFTEEN Phsyical Defense? On top of the 28 HPs. Generals are clearly drunk
on wall power. Then again, when you have such an extreme class that's going
to be available more later in the game....
*Oh yeah. They get Bows if for some reason you're interested in having them
attack from the backlines.
*Warriors.....the poor guys no longer have the top HP, thanks to the
Generals. However, they do get to work with axes for lance monsters, and
they should have existent Speed against prepromotes. They also have, yep,
you guessed it: Movement Type edge, the same as Fighters and Hunters. Yes,
we keep most of the Hunter's benefits from promoting a Brute class unit;
compared to the Hunter, the Warrior loses only 1 point of Skill compared to
the stat gains.
*Berserkers....how many maps have water crossing being useful again? Well,
they're not that bad off, but they should have been able to cross Mountains
better at least.
*Horsemen are promoted from Hunters like they were in FE3, but they're
virtually different. The important thing is, due to being mounted, their
Movement Type takes a dive. Of course, everything else is at least improved.
*Well, let's compare the three archers. (Pretend Generals don't have bows for
a second because who is going to use Generals as archers when they can just
take the beatings anyway?) Snipers.....they're simplistic, and have the best
Movement Type no questions asked. Warriors get to use axes to shake off
front attacks, dealing a lot of damage. And Horsemen work off of being
mounted so they can get across plains very fast. There. I named at least one
reason to use any of the promoted archer classes over the other two.
*Sorcerers aren't that stellar, ugh. Pretty much they're just additional
promoted mage room. They do get access to Wands at least, but that doesn't
help, as you want to have units dealing damage, not taking it. They have
superior defenses, but that doesn't do much to help, there are better
classes for taking damage.

Notes:
*These classes can't promote or change between each other at all. However,
their level cap is higher.
*Comparing the classes to thir FE1 counterparts:
-Lords are the same. Oh wait. There's only one Lord: Marth himself.
-Thieves have had most of their stats reduced, but bear in mind that Julian
and Ricardo had a base Weapon Level of 2 with no Weapon Level growth,
limiting them to Iron, Steel, and Devil Swords back there short of using
Manuals.
-Mamkutes have been changed around a bit....but are you honestly going to
care about their base stats now? Back in the original, Dragon Stones never
boosted Skill or Speed. (Of course, most of the Dragon classes are actually
unused, but you can tell they would have been used by enemy classes.)
-Shooters are unchanged. It would have been fine back in the original where
Shooters had only a range of 2, so the high Physical Defense wouldn't be all
that broken. But here, they have a range of 3-10. Why do I get the feeling
that Chapter 13 (which is riddled with Shooters) is insane?
-Commandos got the worst nerf: their Speed is gonzo, they can no longer use
Swords at all without transforming, and all that for 10 Magic Defense? What
am I going to do with that 10 Magic Defense? In fact, what am I going to do
with that Movement Type, which has also been nerfed because they can no
longer cross Sea? They still would have had base stat garbage, at least with
Movement Type there would have been an incentive to stay untransformed.
-Fire Dragons (or Mamkutes with Fire Dragon Stones, rather) have been toned
up; where they lost 3 Fight Speed they would have needed, they have 5 Speed
unhindered. However, their Physical Defense took a hit, though not that much
of one.
-Magic Dragons (again, Mamkutes with Magic Dragon Stones) have been
revamped. Their Physical Defense is reduced, their magic immunity is gone,
replaced by a high Magic Defense stat, and their Fight Speed weakness is
hanging around. But watch out; they have high attack power, and more
importantly, they're magic too.
-Divine Dragons (Mamkutes with Divine Dragon Stones....wait. Tiki's the only
one).....holy. +28 ATK, now effective against Earth Dragons, extra Magic
Defense, and all that and more only at the cost of Tiki having reduced base
Physical Defense. Oh, but that brings me to the best part: Tiki has existent
Physical Defense growth now.....uh......wha?
-Earth Dragons (Medeus, rather).......his Physical Defense took a big hit
and spells can now be used on him. But now he has existent Fight Speed,
particularly on Hard 5 where he has THIRTY, which will mean he'll
double-strike a Speed capped Marth. Plus he gets 1-2 Range to tear up the
mages. Oh, by the way, Medeus has 50 (!!) Attack on Hard 5.
*May I point out that the Fire Dragon, Magic Dragon, and Divine Dragon
classes are actually unused. Given their stats, it was likely FE3's dragon
transformation method was going to be used. But it's possible that would
have messed up Medeus....wait. This is the DS, not the Super Famicom. *sigh*
I have no idea.
*Soldiers are around, yes, but they're nowhere to be seen whatsoever past
the Prologue chapters. What? They're not even in any of the Gaiden chapters?
*Dismounted.....they were probably intending for dismounting. But of course
decided against it. Again, I'm not sure why.

6. Growths
========================================

(Please note that from this point on, the FAQ is regarding that you're
wanting to use Class Swap to its fullest. The Luck stat is not affected by
that, for starters. And quite a few characters can't make use of it either.
But I will direct you to Serenes Forest: http://serenesforest.net/fe11/ is
the location of the FEDS page. Use that to look up, say, Marth's growths, if
you're that interested. This FAQ itself is intended to be more quick
reference anyway.)

Let's start with the basic class growths:

*Finesse set:

|=========================================|

|-----------------------------------------|
|Dark Mage     |20|-15| 20| 20| 20|-15| 20|
|-----------------------------------------|

Notes:
*Female Dragon Knights the same growth as Pegasus Knights except they have
an extra 10% HP growth.
*Pirates (and Berserkers) have the same growths as Axemen and Warriors.
*Sages and Bishops have the same growths as Dark Mages and Sorcerers.
*Otherwise, if a promoted class isn't listed--which is pretty much most
cases--assume it has the same growths as its predecessor. Yes, including
Horseman from Hunter: compared to Warrior, Speed and Physical Defense edge,
just watch HP and Strength.

Well, let's get down the default growths (excluding Luck) of characters

7. Caps
========================================

And for those interested, here are the caps for each of the promoted classes
involving Class Swap, and not including HP (always caps at 60) or Luck
(caps at 30 except for Paladin and Berserker at 25 and 22 respectively ?_? ):

*Finesse set

|======================================|
|Class         |Str|MPw|Skl|Spd|PDf|MDf|
|======================================|
|Paladin       | 25| 21| 28| 25| 30| 25|
|--------------------------------------|
|Falcon Knight | 24| 20| 25| 25| 25| 26|
|--------------------------------------|
|Dragon Knight | 26| 20| 26| 23| 30| 21|
|--------------------------------------|
|Sniper        | 24| 20| 30| 29| 23| 20|
|--------------------------------------|
|Swordmaster   | 24| 20| 29| 30| 22| 23|
|--------------------------------------|
|Sage          | 20| 30| 28| 25| 20| 25|
|--------------------------------------|
|Bishop        | 20| 25| 26| 25| 22| 30|
|--------------------------------------|

|======================================|
|Class         |Str|MPw|Skl|Spd|PDf|MDf|
|======================================|
|Hero          | 25| 20| 30| 26| 25| 22|
|--------------------------------------|
|General       | 27| 20| 25| 21| 30| 20|
|--------------------------------------|
|Warrior       | 30| 20| 26| 24| 28| 20|
|--------------------------------------|
|Berserker     | 30| 20| 24| 28| 24| 20|
|--------------------------------------|
|Horseman      | 24| 20| 28| 30| 23| 23|
|--------------------------------------|
|Sorcerer      | 20| 30| 28| 25| 20| 25|
|--------------------------------------|

Well, the caps are different enough from bases instead of being a constant
added to the bases. Let's make a couple of tables for comparisons, in case
you can have units capable of reaching them (Sheeda and her Speed for
example):

*Finesse set

|======================================|
|Class         |Str|MPw|Skl|Spd|PDf|MDf|
|======================================|
|Paladin       | 18| 20| 23| 18|*22| 19|
|--------------------------------------|
|Falcon Knight | 18| 19| 20| 18| 18| 18|
|--------------------------------------|
|Dragon Knight | 18| 19| 21| 16| 20| 18|
|--------------------------------------|
|Sniper        | 17| 19| 22| 20| 16| 17|
|--------------------------------------|
|Swordmaster   |*19| 19| 18| 17| 16| 20|
|--------------------------------------|
|Sage          | 17|*26|*26|*21| 17| 20|
|--------------------------------------|
|Bishop        |*19| 22| 24|*21| 19|*22|
|--------------------------------------|

*Brute set:

|======================================|
|Class         |Str|MPw|Skl|Spd|PDf|MDf|
|======================================|
|Hero          | 19| 19| 20| 14| 18| 19|
|--------------------------------------|
|General       | 19| 19| 22| 17| 15| 17|
|--------------------------------------|
|Warrior       |*23| 20| 24| 16|*23| 19|
|--------------------------------------|
|Berserker     |*23| 20| 22| 21| 18|*20|
|--------------------------------------|
|Horseman      | 18| 19| 22|*22| 17|*20|
|--------------------------------------|
|Sorcerer      | 18|*27|*26| 21| 14| 19|
|--------------------------------------|

* = highest potential for that stat in the set

(Good luck having a lot of brute set units with more than +15 Physical
Defense though. And you're certainly never going to have a +20 Magic Defense
for Berserker or Horseman without using an Amulet, including with the broken
growth duo.)

8. Credits
========================================

I shall thank Serenes Forest and their Fire Emblem DS site (located at
http://serenesforest.net/fe1ds/) for providing the tables. Without them,
this FAQ wouldn't be possible. (Of course, this FAQ is pretty much quick
reference. But it does get to be the first FEDS FAQ up on GameFAQs.)

I'd like to thank Nintendo, and Intelligence Systems for this game AND SSBM,
and anybody else involved in making SSBM, since SSBM is pretty much the
reason why I even play Fire Emblem games in the first place.

you've been copying or selling this without permission or doing any other
illegal stuff involving this, you're gone!
