to level bajillion to beat Zeromous!

Wrong. You don't need levels. You don't even need Augments,
Items or the Attack command, but thats a challenge for another
day =P.

Augment Distribution
################################################################
Augments are a key part of the challenge. Without Pheonix, Item
Lore and Dual Cast this challenge may not be possible. So,
without further a-do, the Augment Distribution-

-Auto-Potion: Rydia/Porom.
Just fodder for obtaining Dual Cast. However, if your Whyt
can't survive a few attacks from Octomammoth (since his
stats carry over) Rydia needs it. Item Lore is substituted
for it in this instance.
-Item Lore: Rydia/Porom.
Doubles the power of the ~ara Items. Very handy. If Rydia
needs Auto-Potion, give Item Lore to Porom.
-Counter: Palom
Characters can't live long enough to make use of this.
Besides, how many bosses even use Physical Attacks?
-Curse: Porom
Needed for Baigan and Dual Cast.
-Tsunami: Yang
Needed for Focus and Brace.
-Twincast (x2): Cid and Tellah
Just fodder for Adrenaline and Fast Talker.
-Bluff: Rydia
Rydia is the only character who needs Int.
-Cry: Cecil
Give Cecil some usefulness.
-Dualcast: Rosa
Double Buff or heal and buff at the same time. Very handy.
-Bardsong: Tellah
Essentially fodder for Fast Talker.
-Recall: Yang
Fodder for Focus and Brace.
-Last Stand: Cid
Helps in the Barbarrica battle and needed for Adrenaline.
-Fast Talker: Rosa
Speeds up the use of healing spells.
-Whirlwind: Anyone
Useless ability, give to whoever.
-Draw Attacks: Cecil
Needed for Barnabas, Zeromous and possibly Demon Wall.
-Analyze: Fusoya
Fodder for Pheonix.
-Adrenaline: Kain
Needed in alot of battles. Namely those in the Sealed Cave
and Zeromous.
-Upgrade: Anyone
Useless ability. Give to whoever.
-MP+50%: Rosa
Helps keep her MP up in the final battles.
-Inferno: Anyone
Useless ability, doesn't matter who learns it.
-Focus: Kain
Needed for Zeromous.
-Kick: Anyone
No use for this ability. CPU is the only multi-target boss
after you get it. Give to whoever.
-Brace: Edge
Needed for Zeromous.
-Level Lust: Fusoya
Useless ability, never set it. Fodder for Pheonix.
-HP+50%: Cecil
Who else could make use of it?
-Bless: Cecil
Helps keeps the parties MP up against Zeromous.
-Omnicasting: Anyone
No room for this in the Final Battle, you won't need it
anyway.
-Phoenix: Kain
Needed for Zeromous.

Experience Distribution

The trick to keeping your levels as low as possible is to have
the "temporary" characters absorb all the XP from forced
battles. Here is how that is going to break down ^_^

Floating eyes- Cecil
No-one else can >_>
Mist Dragon- Kain
Level is reset when he re-joins.
General and Guards- Cecil
No-one else can >_>
Octomammoth- Rydia
Tellah keeps XP until he dies and Cecil keeps it until
he becomes a Paladin. Rydia is around for the least time,
plus you'll be having her use Whyt most of the time.
Antlion- Edward
Rydia has already taken XP from Octomammoth, keep your
levels down.
Sahagin- Edward
No-one else can >_>
Mom Bomb- Rosa
Leaves before the next forced fight.
Fabul fights- Edward
Cecil and Yang both keep thier XP.
Scarmigilone and Zombies- Cecil
About to be re-calculated to Level 1.
Scarmigilone- Cecil

NOTE: I'm assuming you know your way through dungeons and the
locations of treasures. I'm not going to hold your hand
through this.

Just hit X and turn on Auto-Battle 2 attacks on each of them end
this battle.

-Go through the scene in Baron Castle.
-Raid the castle and town for treasures, and then purchase
enough Potions so that you have 10 Potions.
-Save, then get to the Mist Cave. If you take any damage, re-load
from that save. Save again at the cave.
-Head through the cave and grab all the treasure. Heal up before
facing Mist Dragon.

Attack 3 times each and wait until it dissolves. Heal Kain
during this time, if his HP is below 100. Repeat, keeping track
of his HP as you go. Once he has less than 30 HP wait for the
Dragon to dissolve into mist and wait 12 seconds. Now have Kain
Jump and have Cecil Attack, so that he will be killed by the
counter if he lives, attack again until Cecil does die. It will
then return to Dragon form before Kain lands. If not, just heal
wait for him to return, then Attack.
Or, be boring and just have Cecil kill himself before Kain can
finish the Dragon off.

The formations to choose...

The summons may seem nice, but they're completely useless. The
only worthwile items are HiPotions and Pheonix Downs. That makes
the best possible use for this XP 2 "Larva x4, Eyewing Moth x2"
formations, which also gives us the most Gil possible. Save
outside the cave and heal Kain. Then head in and walk around
until you get into a battle with "Larva x4, Eyewing Moth x2" and
then fight the battle on Auto-Battle, set to Jump. If you don't
get a HiPotion or Pheonix Down, reset (unless you're happy with
just the Gil). Repeat this.

From this you will get-
52 Gil
2 HiPotions/2 Pheonix Down/1 HiPotion and 1 Pheonix Down

02) Mist, Kaipo and an old man.

-Save, and unequip Kain.
-Mist Scene.
-Save after the scene. Cecil will only have 1 HP, but getting to
Kaipo is easy, and you'll be healed before the battle.

Just hit X and turn on Auto-Battle. Careful not to kill the
General, thats XP we don't want.

-Firstly, grab Auto-Potion and talk to Rosa. Don't give it to
anyone yet though.

next few battles, so you'll be there a while.

Tellah.
-Head through all of the cave and save at the world map.
-Head through the cave and face Octomammoth.

-Equip Tellah with the Ice Rod, for the Int boost.
-Equip Cecil with all of the Hades Gear and the Shadow Blade.
-Equip Tellah with the Feathered Cap.
-Auto-Battle Set up- Cecil; Darkness, Tellah;Poison and
Rydia:Defend.

03) Lets make Sushi! The Octomammoth.

A quick note about splitting Octomammoth's XP

You may think, that this is an easy choice. Tellah leaves right
after this battle, so he should get the XP right? Wrong. Tellah
is actually the worst person to recieve the XP, since he retains
it when re-joins on Mt.Ordeals, as does Yang in Fabul. The best
recipient of the XP is Rydia. In all of her remaining battles
she'll just be using Whyt, meaning that her stats are
irrellevant, bar HP and Speed. Cecil on the other hand as a
while to go before being reset to Lvl 1. Rydia gets the XP.

Hardest individual battle in the challenge. No, really.
Auto-Battle straight away, hopefully Tellah's Poison will
connect first time, if not keep trying. Have Cecil Attack,
refreshing Darkness as it runs out and Tellah use Thunder.
Follow his HP carefully, once it has 4 tentacles up...

If your Whyt has high Vitality and Agility

Have Cecil kill Tellah and himself, then Summon Whyt. Whyt can
just tank it out and kill him with Thunder before going down.

If your Whyt doesn't have high Vitality and Agility

Give Rydia Auto-Potion and equip her with the Feathered Cap and
Gaia Gear. Have her Defend in the back row while Tellah and
Cecil keep fighting. Don't heal either of them. If they're still
alive at 1 tentacle, have them kill themselves. Let Poison
finish the job.

Feeling lucky?

Cast Blink on Rydia and keep fighting. Rydia can Cure as
neccessary while Cecil and Tellah hack away at Octomammoth. Once
he has around 100 HP, kill them both off and Defend with Rydia.
Poison should finish the job.
Rydia does not need Auto-Potion in this scenario. Change the
Augment set-up so that Rydia gets Item Lore and Porom gets
Auto-Potion.

Feeling REALLY lucky?

Whyt with his ability set to Recall. Thundaga can kill
Octomammoth at this stage. Of course that is a slim as hell
chance of happenning. If you do this, go buy some lottery
tickets. Seriously.
Rydia does not need Auto-Potion in this scenario. Change the
Augment set-up so that Rydia gets Item Lore and Porom gets
Auto-Potion.

-Exit to Damcyan.

-Head back to Kaipo and set Whyt's ability to Blizzard.
-Save outside the Antlion's Den.
-Head into the cave, grab all the treasure and save.
-Heal before facing the Antlion.

so that the counter to Blizzard will kill him. If he survives,
don't bother summonning him and just have Rydia cast Blizzard so
that the counter kills her. Have Edward wait for Poison to kill
him.

boss. Attack him a few times and win. The sheer difficulty of
this battle has caused many a gamer to kill themselves over the
years, I hope the same fate does not befall you.

-Item Lore. GET ITEM LORE.
-Again, make sure you have Item Lore.
-Equip Rosa with Holy Arrows and Power Bow.

-Fire cutscene.
-Grab the treasure and save.
-Heal before the fight.

Seriously, I'm thorough. Kick. I'm not even about to make a joke
about this ones difficulty.

Start off by having Edward Hide straight away and then having
Rosa Protect herself and Defend. Now we wait for Self-Destruct.
Once Self Destruct has killed Yang, Rydia and Cecil have Edward
return and HiPotion Rosa and have Rosa use a Bronze Hourglass.
Have Rosa now Slow all of them and Aim at the front row. You
should be able to finish the Bombs off before Stop wears away,
but it doesn't really matter. Have Edward use Lullaby to put
them all to sleep EVERY round. Have Rosa continue to Aim at
each of them, 2 hits take them down. When you have one Grey Bomb
left, have Edward Lullaby it and then kill Edward. Have Rosa
finish off the last Grey Bomb.

A note about Self Destruct.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
It is technically possible to acquire 0 XP from this battle, by
having all the Bombs self destruct. This is incredibly boring
though and you'll probably struggle to get it to happen anyway.
You need to injure each bomb, Edward's Physical attack is a good
way to damage the Bombs and Rosa's Aim can injure the Grey Bombs
and make them start to Self Destruct. If you're actually going
to try this, have everyone Defend in the firts battle and Rosa
Protect everybody. Now just Defend (or Brace) and heal after
each Self Destruct. You'll have to re-write the next section if
you do this.

Which formations to choose?

Quite a selection this time round. The obvious choice, Cursed
Ring, is required for Rubicante and the Four Fiends battle later
on, so make sure to nab one of those. The Spiritx2 battle is the
best place for that. You can find it on the summit of Mt.Hobbs.
That leaves us with 2,129 XP to burn. If you have the patience,
a Rainbow Pudding from the Red Mousse x4 troop is highly
reccomended, if not go for a Silver Apple from the Alligatorx4
formation. I won't bother saying what the best formations are
here, since it's all down to how patient you are willing to be.
Make sure you do get a Cursed Ring though.

Just use an Elixir and end it quickly. No point in fighting
fairly.
Of course, if you want to, thats not hard either. Have Tellah
use a Spider Silk as soon as the battle starts, make sure Cecil
is in the back row (no-one else can take a hit anyway, even in
the back row) and have everyone HiPotion him every round. Item
Lore, obviously helps. If Cecil gets attacked, the next turn
should be used healing him. Once Scarmiglione is on 46 HP (since
we're dealing in 500's and 1000's) have Cecil Defend until
everyone dies, while everyone heals him each time he takes a hit
so he lasts until the end. Once hes alone, Potion to finish it.

have Palom keep using an Ice Rod on the Left Arm, until it goes
down. Once Baigan's Reflect fades away have Tellah Blizzaga it
for around 1200 damage and have Yang Focus 3 times and attack it
as well. Have Porom Cry to increase the damage Yang does. Before
killing Baigan (when he has around 800 HP left) start attacking
the Rigth Arm. Get its HP as down to around 200 (one Blizzaga
and 2 UnFocused attacks from Yang will do this) and make sure
Tellah and Cecil are dead and that Yang has full HP. Have Yang
use a Bomb Core on Baigan have Palom Poison the Right Arm. Now
start attacking the Right Arm with the Ice Rod like crazy. It
should go down quickly enough.

The formations to choose...

Not actually much choice. The Silver apples are the only
worthwhile drop and Flood Worm gives too much XP to be fightable
meaning we have to go for the Alligators and Gigas Gators. The
Gigas Gatorx2 formation is the best if you want to farm for one.
Otherwise, just fight whatever.

-Equip the twins with cheap equipment, Wizard Hats are good.
-Give Palom the Bard's Tunic (prevents Silence).

Another easy battle. Cry straight away and have Palom keep using
Poison until connects, then Curse. Cecil should keep attacking
with the Ancient Sword, until it curses Cagnazzo. Tellah can use
Slow at the start, then Shell, Protect and Haste the twins. Use
Osmose as neccessary. Yang should use Focus 3 times, then attack
Cagnazzo, with an Ice Claw. Palom should be on standby to use a
Zeus' Wrath whenever he prepares a Tsunami, Bluffing in between
each use, and Defending. Porom should also Defend. Don't bother
healing Yang, Cecil or Tellah and they'll die after a while, if
not have Yang attack Tellah, then Cecil, then himself to death.
Now just have the twins tank out the rest of the battle with
Poison, healing between each attack. If he goes into his shell
have Palom start using Bluffed Blizzaras like crazy, with
Poison on top he won't get a chance to Heal. Keep it up, this
is a long battle.

whole party, then Shell, Protect and Blink as well. Have Cecil

full MP with Osmose and don't forget to heal the party. Berserk

Now, be quick. Have Cecil Cry straight away, then use a Spider
Silk. Have Cid and Yang keep attacking. Have Tellah cast Poison,
then Fira. After about 2 rounds, have Yang use Brace. He'll use
Dark Breath and everyone but Yang will be killed. Have him
revive Tellah and then have Tellah heal him while he Braces.
Repeat this, but keep track of his HP. Once he has around 800 HP
left have Tellah heal Yang, then have Yang use a Bomb Core to
finish the battle. Refresh Blink on Yang whenever it wears off.

sections, thanks to the Black Chocobo. As always, get the best
item you can be bothered to get.

Yet another easy battle. Have Rosa DualCast Hold and Slow on
Barbariccia and have Yang then attack her until shes Poisoned.
Rosa's Poison Arrows can help this as well. Once its Poisoned,
cast Shell on Cid and kill everyone else off. Now it follows the
following attack pattern: Lightning -> Tornado -> Stone Touch,
and then repeats. Defend through Lightning, and after Tornado
use 2 HiPotions to heal the damage, then a Gold Needle for
Petrify. Defend, then repeat until Poison kills her.

and 5 Bomb Cranks.
-Unequip Yangs weapons. You have 100% accuracy with bare fists.
-Head to Agart, then to the underworld.
-Put Yang in the back row.

kills himself before the final fang.

The hardest battle in a long time. Have Rosa DualCast Slow on
Golbez and Cura on Cecil, and have Cecil Cry. Once Rydia joins
in have her use a Phoenix Down on Rosa and have Cecil use a
HiPotion on her. You'll need him to either use Drain or Osmose
for the first round or you'll be killed before you can revive
Rosa. Once she's up and healed have her DualCast Raise on Yang
and Cura on the whole party. Have Yang Focus 3 times, then
Brace. Then have Rydia Swap Rows while Rosa heals. Now DualCast
Libra and Cura. If Golbez Osmoses Rosa have Rydia use an Ether
on her. Use the appropriate ~ara item for Golbez' weakness.
Once Golbez is on less than 1,200 HP have Rydia switch to using
Zeus' Wrath, Bomb Fragments or Antarctic Winds, as they only
deal 500 damage each. Once Golbez has less than 400 HP (have
Rydia start using Physical attacks if you have to) stop healing
Rydia and Rosa. If Golbez Drains enough HP back, attack him with
the girls until he's on low HP again. Once the girls have died,
attack Golbez for 400 damage to finish it.

Neither of the girls will level up from this.

This battle is far too random. If Lugae starts with a second
Reversal Gas, Brace and have Rosa Slow Lugae and Shell the party
while Rydia uses a Heavenly Wrath. If he opens with Restore, you
have no hope, Game Over. If his next move is Flamethrower, Game
Over. If his next move is to Beam or Attack Yang, game over. We
need him to either Beam or Attack Rosa. Once thats happenned,
have Rydia summon Ramuh to bring him down to less than 9,999 HP.
Now we need him to use Reversal Gas and kill Rydia. This can
be before or after the Reversal, it doesn't matter. The second
Yang is alone with Reversal use an Elixir on Lugae.
Of course, that rarely happens. Honestly, this is just a case of
"if it works, do it" and very little works. This will take you a
while to get right.

HP, then have him kill himself. Wait until the wall reaches you
and it will use Crush on Cecil. Now have Kain Jump.

Cecil's Blink wears off have Edge use Mirage. Keep throwing
Shurikens, refreshing Mirage after every other Counter:Attack,
7 will kill her. Make sure Edge absorbs the XP here, he'll
recieve the least level ups, plus he needs them.

Our problem here, is that opening Deluge. With the best possible
M-Def equipment on Edge (Rune Armlet, Genji Armour, Genji Helm)
he's still in chance to take it, even with all the possible
apples. And hejust falls short on the speed front too, meaning
he can't pull off a Brace fast enough, since Edge can't equip
Cat Claws anymore (which would make this all too possible, damn
you Square-Enix!) the best possible Speed we can obtain
(Kiku-ichimonji being the only available piece of Speed boosting
gear) just falls short. Because of this, Leviathan has to wait
until after the Behemoth's in the Lair of the Father. It's not
*technically* cheating, because if we did beat Leviathan first,
we'd be taking on the Behemoth's at a higher level. We're just
changing the order a bit.

Magic spell until he does. Now DualCast Blink and Cura on Cecil
and keep Blink up. Have Edge keep using Shurikens and have Rydia
Bluff and use Titan. Once he's on enough HP to be killed with a
Shuriken, kill every one off, Mirage and do so.

As soon as the battle starts use a Light Curtain, followed by a
Spider Silk. Then just throw your most powerful weapons at
Leviathan. Once it uses Blizzaga, use an Elixir, then Brace.
Then continue throwing. An easy battle.

thier MP throughout this battle.

Bio, then repat that Bio whenever he runs out of MP. Have Cecil
ready to use a Zeus's Wrath at all times, and have him do so
when water surges to Cagnazzo's feet. Eventually, he'll go down
as well.

The hardest thing about this boss is spelling her name correctly
followed by Lightning. Obviously, we haven't got Kain this time
round, but we didn't need him before either. Have Rydia Summon
Whyt, if his ability is Holy and he has maxed Spirit, otherwise
Dragon every round. Have Rosa on DualCura duty every round.
Edge will go down fairly quickly, have him Throw a few Shuriken
before he does so. Fusoya should Slow Barbariccia then Holy her
every round.

As soon as this battle starts, Slow him. Have Edge spam Shuriken
and have Rydia keep Summoning Whyt/Dragon. Cecil is immortal in
this battle, so have him Phoenix Down Fusoya everytime he dies
to Inferno. Then have Fusoya use Blizzaga on his opened cloak
form and revive Edge as well to use the "Steal his nipples"
trick to stop Inferno, which involves Edge Stealing from him
each time he opens his cloak. Once He's down to 4,000 HP have
Fusoya use a Dry Ether on himself and have Cecil wait to use a
Phoenix Down on Fusoya. After Inferno have Fusoya cast Meteor.
As the bar reaches the "t" of Meteor have Cecil use a Bomb Core.

This battle is the exact same as it always is. Spam your
most powerful Attacks (Shuriken for Edge, Heavenly Wrath's for
Fusoya and Rydia, Aim with Bolt Arrows for Rosa and Bomb Core
for Cecil) until it goes down. It'll take you a few tries, but
thats how this battle is. Once the Attack Node is down go after
the CPU and finish that off. Once it's down, kill of everyone
except Fusoya and have him kill the Defense Node.

Easy. Get Kain into Adrenaline state and Slow the boss as soon
as possible, having Cecil Blinked also helps. Edge throwing
everything you have while Kain Attacks (have him use a Baccus
Wine to speed things up) should wipe out the dragon before long.
If he uses Quake, Phoenix will revive everyone, so revive Kain
afterwards and Ether him.

Optional Boss:Dark Bahamut.............................HP-60,000

Another easy one. Slow him straight away, then Throw everything
you have at him while Kain Jumps. Don't use Summons or else
he'll counter with Megaflare, instead just put Rydia on Item
duty (if she has Item Lore, take advantage of it) and have Rosa
OmniCast Raise as needed. Make sure to have Cecil Cry as soon
as possible. If Kain goes down, Phoenix Down him and then give
him an Ether so that Phoenix is back. It'll take a little while,
but it isn't that difficult.

An easy one. Having Edge Throw the Knife can take off a third of
his HP straight away, then you have Excalibur and the Poison Axe
on top of those. Kain's Attacks, preferabley Adrenalined, can
also take a nice chunk off if you have Cry support. Summon Whyt
(who should still have Holy) to absolutely finish this. If by
some unholy miracle you fail, Phoenix will kick in. Impossible
to lose this, unless you really, really, suck.

down. If you run out, somehow, just hack away at him until he
goes down with X-Potions and Hi-Potions. With Phoenix on your
side you can't lose.

As soon as this battle starts, Deluge will wipe out your whole
party. Luckily Phoenix is on our side. As soon as you're back
alive, Phoenix Down and Ether Kain. Now just fight as hard as
you can (Throw everything, Adrenaline-Jumps with Kain, Whyt for
Rydia etc.) and keep reviving Kain. Kain's Poison Axe can Poison
Opogogo for a lovely 500 damage every few seconds, so make sure
to equip it. Don't forget Cry and Slow either.

A relatively easy one here. Have Cecil use Bless while Edge
throws the most powerful weapons you have, in order. Have Rosa
DualCast Slow on Zeromous and Shell on the party, not that it
helps. Have Rydia on Item duty. Have Kain Attack with the Poison
Axe. Once Zeromous shakes, have Kain Jump and have everyone else
go all out on him. After Big Bang Kain will land. If Zeromous
casts Osmose use a Dry Ether, if he shakes, Jump and if uses
Whorl or Black Hole attack. If he uses Flare or Meteor Kain'll
go down and Phoenix will activate. Have Rydia use a Phoenix Down
and have Cecil use Bless, while Edge is ready to use Dry Ether
on Kain. Repeat. This battle'll last a while, but you shouldn't
have too much trouble. Steal a Dark Matter aswell if you'd like.

-Edge can Steal a few items of value, namely Rune Axes. This
is the best weapon in this challenge, so if you can be bothered
to do so, get it.
-If you have the patience to steal alot of items-worth of money,
substitute Shuriken's for any other weapon you wish throughout
this challenge.
-If you had the patience/luck to get a Rainbow pudding make sure
to use Safe Travel. It helps.
-Level 1 Cecil defeating Proto-Babil alone is the biggest Level
up in the Final Fantasy series possible, without hacking.

team requires. Keep Blink on Cecil. As soon as Kain goes down,
Phoenix Down him and Ether him. Repeat this and he'll go down. A
very easy battle.

1 Giant's Gloves- Strength boost for Kain.
1 Adamant Armour for Kain- Strength boost.
Plenty of Fuma's- For Edge.
Knife- For Edge.
1 Crystal Ring (stolen from Red Dragons)- Cecil.
As many Elixir's as you can get. (30+)

The Crystal Ring can be substituted for more Golden Apples and
Dragon Gloves.

Strategy
Surprisingly simple. Cry and Slow Babil, then revive Cecil and
have him Brace, before you Elixir him. Now have Kain Focus 3x
and then Darkness, before Jumping. His Low accuracy is annoying,
but theres nothing we can do about it. For now, have everyone on
healing duty for Kain, or Babil uses Laser Barrage, we can
Revive whoever's Phoenix saved us (which is why Cecil has
Salve, for Phoenix Down).
Keep track of Babil HP, try to get it as close to 180,000 as
possible. When it is have Kain set up and then have him Jump
again to take away a big chunk of that. Have Edge throw the
Knife for another 35k damage (hence his Limti Break) and
DualCasted, Bluffed Quake can do around 5k on top of that. Now
have Kain keep Jumping and Edge keep throwing Fumas, while Rosa
and Rydia are on healing duty. Really easy from this stage.
