INTRODUCTION
The Crystal Chronicles franchise has made its debut on Gamecube, after
Nintendo requested of Square that they release a Final Fantasy game for their
flagship console, in exchange for letting them develop titles for the Gameboy
Advance system. Instead of giving Gamecube owners a "real" Final Fantasy game,
Square released a new entry, Crystal Chronicles, which bare very few Final
Fantasy traits, sharing more similarities to their Mana series. They also tried
something bold by forcing players to get GBAs in order to be able to play the
game with friends, which was not such a good idea. Needless to say, FF fans
were disappointed, even though the game was a very polished one, with a
beautiful soundtrack and some of Gamecube's best graphics. A few years later,
Square decided to continue the series with Ring of Fates, which would use the
same concept but would allow players to play together without all the hassle.
The game lacked the artistic appeal of the original, but it turned out
successful. In response to that, Square released Echoes of Time, a follow-up to
the game. This installment once again tries something new with Square's Pollux
Engine, which runs the game on Wii and allows DS and Wii owners to play
together. The Wii version doesn't exactly render the same experience as the DS
one, Wii players being forced with a very small screen and cumbersome controls,
but that's only while Wii waits for The Crystal Bearers...
GAME BASICS
Tribes
There are four different races to choose from at the beginning of the game. The
storyline will remain the same, but each tribe can wear and wield different
armor and weapons, and has different abilities like the double jump for the
Selkies. You can only have one save file, so choose carefully your main
character. However, it's possible to create up to 16 other characters at the
Adventurer's Guild in town, and play the game with another character than your
main one. The main character will still appear in cutscenes though.
Clavat
Clavats are fierce combattants who excel at wielding swords. They are balanced
characters, good for starters.

Controls
Use the + and - buttons on the wiimote to adjust the size of the two screens
displayed. If you press + and - at the same time, the screens will switch
positions.
In town and in dungeons, move using the nunchuk's control stick. Press A to
talk and examine in town, and attack enemies in dungeons. Press B to jump, and
Z to collect items on the ground, or carry objects in dungeons. Press Z again
to drop or throw the object. In water, press C to dive. You can also switch
characters by pressing UP or DOWN on the wiimote's control pad, and LEFT/RIGHT
to change magic.
By holding down A longer, you can use a charge attack. You can cancel it by
pressing B (works for magic too). There are several different types of
attacks.
Jump Attack: Press A while jumping to launch a mid-air attack.
Dive Attack: Launch a jump attack and then hold down A to dive down weapon-fist
onto the top of the foe. You can only use this attack with swords or spears.
Lift Attack: Press A while carrying a foe (Z) to hit him from below. You can
only lift small foes.
Wall Slam: Lift up a foe, run next to a wall or tree, and then press A to slam
it against the wall.
Stomp Attack: When you are standing on top of a monster, press A to stomp on
its head.
Hanging Attack: Jump to grab the legs of a flying enemy and press A to attack
from below.
Magic
You can use magic by holding C and leading the target to an enemy. Releasing C
will cast the spell. You can cast the spells on yourself or allies to heal. You
can cancel a spell by pressing B or Z while casting. Spells consume MP (the
blue bar) which can be recovered with potions and fruits. To select the spells,
press Up or Down on the control pad.
To stack magic, press A to lock-on the circle, then cast another spell and
release C over the other spell. You can do this with other characters or
players to stack more circle and release even more powerful magic. In single
player, you can create party members at the Adventurer's Guild and set their AI
(menu - status - AI) to cast the same magic as you do so you'll be able to
stack magic with them.

WALKTHROUGH
This is a complete step by step walkthrough which will take you through the
game's numerous puzzles within the dungeons. While I always try to be as
thorough as possible, if for any reason you still cannot figure out one of the
puzzles, please take a look at my video walkthrough for the game, avalaible on
my Youtube channel. The FFCC Echoes of Time playlist can be found here:

Now let the adventure begin!

Hero's Village/Forest
After choosing your character and naming it, you'll see a scene of a little
girl running in the forest. Afterwards, the hero wakes up in its village in the
morning. Go around and speak with the villagers, then head up to the top of the
village and speak with the Moogle to enter the forest. After the tutorial, go
around the area to get the chests and defeat enemies, then walk up to the gate
in the northeast corner. Pick up the key lying on the ground and place it on
the pedestal to unlock the gate.
In the next area, walk up to the gate in the corner and defeat all the enemies
there to make a switch appear. Hit this switch to unlock the next gate. Make
sure you got all the chests in the area, then move out to the next area where
you'll face the boss. To defeat it, first knock its helmet off to reveal its
vulnerable head and wait for it to attack by pounding its arm into the ground.
While it's stucked, jump on the arm to reach the head and hit it for more
damage. Repeat the process until he's defeated and move out to the clearing
ahead.
After the scene where Sherlotta hands over the crystal to you, leave the area
by the exit up the slope on the left and return to the village. After the talk
with the villagers, it will be decided that you shall be the one to step out of
the villager to retrieve the cure for the illness.
Town
Head out to the world map and enter the library at the back of the town. You'll
meet Larkeicus, who'll propose to help you by making a deal with him. Now
you'll need to get him a Buffasaur Horn. He'll also teach you how to use magic.
Leave the library after the tutorial and speak with the two townsfolk by the
fountain to unlock the next stage. Walk out of town to the world map and on the
right you'll find the Aqueducts.
Aqueducts
At the start, grab the block in the wall and pull it out to reveal the entrance
to the aqueduct. In the first area, hit the pillar near the gate until it
starts glowing and a platform will raise, revealing a switch underneath. Step
on this switch to unlock the gate. In the next area, use thunder magic on the
yellow sphere to raise the platform and step on the switch under it to unlock
the next gate.
Examine the signpost in the next area to unlock a quest, then defeat the little
guy with blizzard magic. Hit the switch at the entrance to move a platform
toward you, then grab the block nearby and pull it on the second platform which
has a switch on it. Once the block is on the platform, hit this switch to move
the platform over to the other side. Jump to the opposite shore to hit the
switch there and move another platform. Move the block down on the new
platform, then hit the switch on the shore again to move back the platform.
Pull the block on the switch to unlock the gate above and move out.
In the next area, you'll need to use magic on three spheres around the room to
unlock the next one. Use fire magic on the red sphere up the steps on the left,
blizzard on the blue one in the middle, and thunder on the yellow one over to
the right. Do the same with the next three spheres to unlock the back room and
push the pillar into the wall on the left to open a gate somewhere else. Return
to the previous area and the gate on the left will be open.
Enter the new room and defeat the small enemy with blizzard magic, then take
down the two lizard enemies to make a key appear. Place the key into the
pedestal to open the gate and proceed. You'll be back in the first area, but
the gate on the left is now open, so go through it to the final room. Here,
pick up the crates around and drop them on the switches. You'll be missing two.
Hit the pillar switch at the right of the entrance to make two gates on each
side of the main gate with the lock open. Pick up the crate in each and place
it on the remaining switches. Do it twice to get both. This will open the gate
at the top of the room.
Head through and get the key below. Step on the switch to open the gate and
return to the last room. Use the key on the gate to open it and push all four
pillars into the wall to open the final gate leading to the boss. To defeat
him, cast blizzard on him while his barrier is down to freeze him. Get behind
him and hit the stone on his back for a lot of damage. Keep hitting it even
after he's unfrozen until the barrier is back. Wait for the barrier to be down
again and freeze him back, then hit the stone on his back. Repeat until
defeated. Leave and receive the Buffasaur Horn.
Town/Village
Return to the town and take the Buffasaur Horn to Larkeicus. With the medecine
in hands, go back to your village and talk to Sherlotta. After the scene,
travel back to the town to speak with Larkeicus, who will explain the terms of
your deal. You'll need to visit two mountains, Ice Mountain and Fire Mountain,
and set back some kind of ruins. So off you go, starting with Ice Mountain.
Head out to the world map and travel west to the mountain in question.
Ice Mountain
At the entrance, examine the signpost to unlock a new quest, then climb up the
cliff at the back and pull down the handle above to reveal the way into the
mountain. In the first area, freeze the pot by using blizzard magic on it, then
pick it up and throw it into the water to turn it into ice. Cross and head to
the next area. Freeze the pot here too and throw it into the water after
defeating the enemies. Push the block onto the ice and use it to reach the
handle above. Pull it to make a platform appear and use the pulley on the other
side to slide down to the next area.
Defeat all the enemies in this area to make a handle appear and pull it to make
some platforms appear. Cross this area by pulling all the handles around and
jumping on the platforms until you reach the other side. In the next area,
freeze the first pot and throw it into the water. Push the block up to the
middle of the ice and leave it there. Use fire magic on the other pot to light
it and throw it on the ice to melt it. The block should fall onto a switch
underwater and raise a platform. Now freeze the blue pot again and throw it
back into the water to freeze it again. Pull the block from the platform to the
ice on the other side of the bridge and push it onto the switch in the corner
to open the next door.
Save your game at the stone, then zip down the rope using the pulley and let it
go half-way through to fall down on the bridge below. Defeat all the enemies
there to make a switch appear and hit it to make a handle appear. Use the
handle to go up and find a little room with chests. Return to the previous room
afterwards and go left to the last area. Defeat the three eye enemies here by
stunning them with a charge attack, then climb up the ruins and push the block
into the alcove to trigger a scene.
Town
Return to see Larkeicus to tell him what happened and unlock Fire Mountain.
Also speak with the man hanging by the fountain to unlock a new quest before
leaving town. On the world map, head north to your next destination.
Fire Mountain
In the entrance area, pick up the barrel at the end and drop it in front of the
weak rockface below the cliff. Use fire magic on it to make it explode and make
the weak part of the wall crumble to reveal a chest. Then pick up a second
barrel and drop it in front of the weak wall above. Make it explode to reveal
the way to the next area. Examine the signpost here to unlock a new quest.
Pick up the water barrel and throw it on the flames blocking the way to put
them out. Cross over to the other side and pull down the handle to make a fire
barrel appear. Pick it up and carry it to the top of the platforms on the left.
Light it up to make the large block explode and reveal a chest behind. Then
grab another barrel and drop it in front of the block on the left of the
handle. Blow it up to reveal the way to the next area.
Head up to the top while avoiding the falling boulders, then pick the barrel on
the right and throw it on the moving platform to extinguish the flames. Jump on
the platform and pick up the next barrel to put out the flames above. Put out
the flames on the next moving platform, then grab a barrel and ride the
platform to the right. Throw the barrel to extinguish the flames on the other
side and move out to the next area.
Here, defeat the enemies around the room to get the barrels they're carrying it
and blow up each of the four stone blocks set around. You'll find a switch
hidden under each. Step on all four switches to open the gate and proceed to
the last area after picking up the key. Head up and grab the barrel ahead. Go
up the slope while carrying the barrel and throw it into the flames at the top
of the area. Save at the stone, then unlock the gate and head on to the
boss.
The boss isn't too hard. It will roll around, which can be easily avoided, then
get back its feet. First, pick up one of the water barrels lying around and
throw it on the boss to put out the flame on its head. After that, start attack
for major damage. Everytime the flame comes back, throw a barrel and keep
hitting until it's defeated. A platform with a switch will then appear. Jump on
it to reach the ruins above and push the block into the alcove to trigger a
scene. Then walk back to town.
Town/Village
Go back to talk to Larkeicus, who will thank you and send you back home to
rest. Return to the village and speak with Sherlotta to go to bed. During that
night, something strange will occur and the next morning everyone will be gone.
If you want, talk to the little girl at the entrance, and you can also go check
on the crystal in the forest, but it's not necessary. For now, just head back
to the town and enter the library.
Library
Things have changed for the worse inside the library. Monsters now roam around
and there are many puzzles to solve. Head through the left door at the back.
Pick up the book at the end of the hall and place it on the book holder to
unlock the door. In the next room, just move the bookshelf at the back and push
it aside to reveal a passageway.
Pull the ladder in the following area against the wall, then climb it up and
pick up the book above. Place it on the book holder and go stand next to the
white sphere. A circle of white magic will follow you to the sphere and open
the path ahead. Now drop down on the left and defeat the two enemies below. A
book will then appear above. Climb back up the ladder and carry the book to the
book holder on the left. The white sphere is unreachable this time, so cast any
of your magic spells and lead it to the sphere on the other side of the
bookshelves to the left. The magic from the book will follow your spell circle
and open the path when it reaches the sphere. Proceed to the next room.
Here, defeat the enemies first, then hit the switch in the center and spheres
will come down. Now you must pick up one of the white books lying around and
place it on any book holder and then run to a sphere to make the circle follow
you to it. You'll have to do this three times for all three spheres, but be
quick or the spheres will go back up after a time. Remember: you have to use
the white books, not the grey ones, or it won't work. Once all three spheres
have been hit by the magic the door will open.
In the hallway ahead, defeat the enemies to clear the path, then hit the pillar
switch at the end to move the bookcase and reveal a book holder. Now go back to
the beginning of the room and pick up the book lying on the ground. Bring it to
the book holder to unlock the door.
In the next room, push the empty bookshelf so it fall on the floor below, then
drop down and pull the bookshelf over the switch right next to it. Head back up
using the ladder on the left and pick up the white book lying near the entrance
of the room. While carrying the book, cross to the other side using the
bookshelf. Defeat the enemies, then place the white book (not the grey one) on
the book holder on the left. Now quickly go stand on the switch at the right
and cast any magic. Lead your spell circle over to the book holder and guide it
across the bookshelf to reach the sphere, while the white magic circle follows
your spell to it. The door next to you will open.
In the following area, hit the switch at the back of the room to reveal a
ladder behind a bookcase. Pull the ladder out and move it all the way left to
where you can see a little shadow on the floor (there should be a white sphere
floating right above). Place it right next to the shadow, then climb up and
pick up the book. Put it on the book holder, then go stand on the sphere. Since
you placed the ladder between the bookshelves and the sphere, the magic circle
will be able to follow you to the sphere.
After hitting the sphere, defeat the mimic in the corner (the fake chest) to
obtain a rune ring, then drop down on the floor below and defeat the two
enemies to make a key appear. Grab the key, then the last bookshelf will lower
to reveal a book. Pick up that book and drop it on the stone platform on the
right. Now climb up the ladder and step on the switch there to make the
platform come up with the book on it. Pick up the book and go right. Place it
on the book holder at the end to open the door.
You'll find yourself back in the first room. Drop down and return to the third
room from the beginning. Unlock the gate in this room with the key to access
the boss. For this boss, just attack him with normal attacks and charge
attacks. First get rid of the minions by making them explode next to the boss
so he gets hit too. Then avoid his spells and attack him. Heal yourself with
Cure as often as needed, since the minions will drop potions when they die, and
they will keep on re-appearing. After the fight and cutscene, pick back up your
crystal and leave.
Town/Village
Return to your village and speak with the Yuke near the entrance to the forest.
You'll learn the location of the ruins, your next destination. Back on the
world map, travel northeast to the desert where you'll find the ruins in
question.
Ruins
At the entrance, step on the big switch to go down into the ruins. Head through
the left door in the first room. Use lightning magic on the yellow sphere here
to lower the spikes on the left. Head through that new passage and avoid the
spikes in the next area. Pick up the small pyramid in the center to stop all
the spikes and head down south while carrying it. Climb up the steps and place
the pyramid on the small pedestal. If nothing happens, use lightning magic on
the pyramid to light it up again, and put it back. Use the new platform that
appears to go back to the entrance of the room and go through the northern
door.
Head for the north end of this room and pick up the pyramid. Carry it south to
another pedestal across the room and place it on it. Again, if it's unlit,
light it back up with lightning magic, then place it on the pedestal. Now
return to the very first room of the ruins. Check the walls on each side to see
the pedestals from earlier come out. Pick up both pyramids and place them on
the other pedestals in the middle of the room. The whole room will go down.
Defeat all the enemies in the new part to unlock the door on the left and go
through it.
Head down the stairs and pick up the pyramid. Carry it downstairs and leap over
the pit. In the next section you'll need to hit the pillar switch while
avoiding the spike balls all the way to the end. Just be careful but not too
slow. A switch will then appear. Go step on that switch to make a pedestal
appear. Pick back up the pyramid and head up to place it on the pedestal. Light
up the pyramid first with lightning magic. The door will unlock, head to the
next room. Pick up the pyramid here and cross the room. Light it up and place
it on the pedestal to unlock the next door.
The pedestal will come up in the next room. Pick up the pyramid and place it on
the other pedestal in the center of the room, which will make the floor lower.
Defeat all the enemies here to make the southern door unlock and head to the
next room. Drop down on the bottom floor and defeat all the enemies, including
the small one on the right. A pyramid will appear. Light it up and carry it to
the pedestal in the center to make a handle appear. Grab it to reach the floor
above, on the right, and head through the next door to the next room.
Here, head for the top-right part of the area where the floor splits into
fingers. Walk to the tip of the rightmost one and wait for a handle to come
swinging nearby. Grab it to reach a floating platform with a switch. Step on
the switch and wait for a platform to come by. Pick up the pyramid on it and
stand on that platform to have it move back. Jump back to the ground below and
carry the pyramid to the pedestal at the back of the area. A blue sphere will
appear. Use blizzard magic on it when it comes close, then quickly go grab the
pyramid and throw it on the new pedestal on the left of the sphere. The next
door will be unlocked; move out to the final room.
In this room there are four pedestals, and four pyramids to place on them. The
two first ones are carrying by enemies, simply defeat them to snatch the
pyramids and put them on two pedestals. The third one will appear by hitting
the pillar switch at the back of the room. The fourth and last one is on a
platform near the ceiling. Just climb up on the left of the pillar switch and
grab the handle to reach a lever. Pull it, then drop down to get the pyramid
and place all four on their pedestals to make the key come out in the center.
Before moving out, you can get to a secret room with some chests by jumping
from handle to handle in the southeast corner of the room.
Then head for the southwest corner to unlock the gate with the key. Defeat all
the enemies in the following area and a big switch will appear in the center.
Step on it to fall down to the boss, after a short scene. To defeat this boss,
you'll have to aim for its wings. After a few hits to its wings, the boss will
collapse on the ground, leaving its weakness fully open. Hit each wing until
their protection is gone, then hit some more to finish it off. Just make sure
you don't stay around when the boss strikes, or else you'll end up paralyzed,
although the effect is only temporary. After the battle, step in the light in
the center and watch the scene. Talk to the Yuke afterwards and ask him all the
available questions.
Back on the world map, you'll notice some previous locations are now marked
with crystals. A crystal fragment can be found in each of these areas, so
you'll need to pay them an extra visit.
Aqueducts -Entrance 2-
In the first room, hit the pole switch in the water all the way to drain the
area. Press the button at the bottom to open the gate. In the second room, push
the first switch into the wall, then pull the nearby block right in front of
it, on the symbol on the floor. Then push the second switch into the wall to
open the gate above. In the third room, hit the pillar switch, then quickly
head for the platform that raises and push the block onto the button to open
the door. Defeat all enemies in the fourth area, then proceed to the next room.
Hit the three pole switches here, starting from the leftmost one to the
rightmost one, then quickly push the block on the button nearby to unlock the
gate above.
Hit the switch to make some blocks appear. There are three in total, and you'll
have to push them all over to the rightmost room, to place them over the three
buttons there. Push the first block down into the gutter on the right, then all
the way to the back room, on one of the switches. Do the same for the two other
blocks in the middle and last areas. The gate will re-open when all three
buttons are pressed. Return to the previous room and a new door will open,
leading back to the first room where another door will unlock. Defeat all three
beasts in the final room to obtain the first crystal shard. Then choose another
destination for the next crystal.
Ice Mountain -Entrance 2-
In the first area, hit the red sphere with fire magic to make a block appear
and push that block right in the very middle of the frozen pond. Then use fire
on the red pot and throw it on the ice to melt it. The block should fall on the
switch underwater and unlock the gate. In the next area, hit the pillar switch
on the cliff above, then pull the handle to unlock the gate. In the third area,
slide down the zipline, and if you want, land on the middle ledge and defeat
all enemies to make a switch appear. Hit it to make a handle appear and use it
to go up to a room with some treasure chests.
Back in the main room, defeat all enemies on the left to make a key appear.
Talk to the Moogle here to unlock a new quest, then pick up the key and throw
it on top of the handle on the right. Grab the handle to go up, then after you
drop on the cliff above, quickly pick up the key on the handle before it goes
back down. Place the key on the pedestal to unlock the next area.
Cross over to the other side using the handle, then freeze the jar on the right
and throw it into the water to turn it to ice. Freeze the same jar again and
carry it to another pool of water across the ice. Pull the handle above it to
make a switch appear. Use fire on the red jar nearby and throw it into the
water to unfreeze it. Then hit the switch to raise the pedestal from the water.
Quickly grab the key on the left and throw it on the pedestal before it goes
back down.
In the next area, defeat all the enemies to obtain the key to the boss door.
You can use the red pot to unfreeze the water pools and find chests within.
Then use the blue pot to freeze back the pools, including the one with the
block to unlock the gate to the next room. Take the zipline down and cross the
platforms to the next one. Defeat all the enemies here to make a save stone
appear, then move out to the very last room.
Defeat all enemies to make three red spheres appear. If you hit all three at
the same time, a passage will open to a treasure chest. In single player, you
can lock a ring on one of the spheres, then using a second party member with
the AI set to use when magic when you do, hit the two other spheres right after
the first hit. Now to get to the boss, freeze the pool of water at the top,
then pull the blocks and place them over the underwater switches, like on the
screenshot below. Unfreeze the water and the blocks will fall on the switches
and the pillars will lower. Unlock the gate with the key.
To defeat the boss, freeze the pot on the right side of the area and throw it
into the pool of water while the toad is out. When it tries to jump back in, it
will hit the ice and fall on its back. Use the opportunity to jump on its
stomach and start hitting hard. Repeat that process until he's defeated and
pick up the second crystal core fragment. Now only one remains.
Fire Mountain -Entrance 2-
Defeat all enemies in the first area to make a barrel appear and use it to blow
up the wall nearby to get a chest. Then pick up the water barrel at the back of
the area and throw it at the flames in front of the exit to unlock the gate. In
the second area, pull the handle on the left to make a platform appear, then
cross on the right and use the handle to cross the lava pit. You can exit right
here, or pick up the barrel and head down to blow up the wall and find a room
with some chests.
In the third area, defeat all the enemies to make a barrel appear. Use it to
blow up the wall on the right with fire magic, and head up the passage while
avoiding the falling boulders. Defeat the enemies at the top and a water barrel
will appear. Carry it back down to the area below. On the left of the blue tile
with the Lilty pot symbol, jump on the little mound and then jump higher and
throw the barrel at the flames above. Then jump into the alcove to get a chest
with an Atk Boost (you'll need a Selkie or Lilty). Climb back up and enter the
fourth area.
Hit the pole switch here all the way, then jump across the platforms that come
out on the right. Hit the next pole switch above and very quickly cross to the
other side. If you're not quick enough, the best solution is to use a second
party member. Have the first character go stand on the little platforms above
the lava, then switch to the second and hit the pole, then switch back to the
first and cross.
In the fifth area, defeat all the enemies to make a barrel appear and use it to
blow up the wall on the left above the cliff. You can also pull a handle above
one of the lava pool to get a chest above. In the next area, head up the slope
and then go right. You'll need two characters to get the chest here. Have the
first stand on the platform, then switch to the other and press the switch to
raise the platform. Switch back to the first and pull the handle to make a
chest appear.
Now go left and step on the switch to unlock the gate below. Go left again to
find the save stone, then start heading down to the final room. Defeat all
enemies in this room by stepping on their back or freezing them to obtain the
last crystal fragment.
Village
Now return to your village and find the little girl in at the end of the
forest, where the crystal is. Talk to her three time to give her all the
crystal shards and view some scenes. Afterwards, leave the forest and speak to
the Yuke at the top of the village (the teacher) to receive the key to the
library. Go back to town with that and re-enter the library for another
round.
Library -Entrance 2-
This time around, take the right door in the entrance room. Defeat the enemy in
the next hall, then hit the pole switch. Quickly pick up the book on the floor
and place it on the book holder, then using any magic, lead your spell circle
to the white sphere on the other side of the bookcase. The magic circle will
follow and hit the sphere, opening the way. Defeat the two enemies ahead, then
pull the bookcase at the back to get it out of the way and reveal the exit.
In the next room, use the ladder to climb up to the top floor and hit the
switch on the left. Drop down and pick up the book. Carry it to the platform on
the right, which should now be moving up and down. Throw the book on the
platform and leave it there for now. Go back to where you picked up the book
and pull the empty bookcase out of the wall. Push it all the way to the moving
platform and place it right next to it. This should also be next to a shadow on
the ground, as there's a sphere above, and we're trying to create a path from
the top ledge to it, with the bookcase.
Now climb back up using the ladder and hit the switch from previously again so
the platform stops moving, but time it so it stops when the platform is at the
top of the floor so you can pick back up the book and thus form a path with the
bookcase, leading to the white sphere floating above. Now place the book on the
book holder nearby and go stand on the platform. Use any magic and lead the
circle to the sphere, across the bookcase, so the magic from the book follows
it there and hit the sphere. Then drop down and defeat the enemies to obtain
another book. Put the book on the book holder near the exit to access the next
room.
Defeat all the enemies in this room, including the lion on the other side of
the bookshelves. To hit him, use the grey book lying on the floor and place it
on a book holder. The magic will hit him. Don't use the white books, only the
grey one. Repeat the process with the book when it re-appears until the enemy
is defeated. Pick up the key on the other side afterwards and proceed to the
next area.
Here, pull the ladder on the lowered bookcase on the right, then while standing
on it, hit the switch to raise the bookcase and carry the ladder up. Pull the
ladder all the way to the other side and push it down on the floor below. Then
push it over the switch to lower a book holder. Defeat the enemies on the left
to make a book appear above, then climb up the ladder and pick up the book.
Jump back down and place the book on the book holder to open the next door.
Head over to the right in the new room and pick up the white book on the
ground. Place it on the book holder, then quickly grab the handle on the left
to lower the white sphere which will be hit by the book's magic. At the
rightmost end of the room, you will find some chests including a Mimic. Then
return to the leftmost side of the room and pull the empty bookcase all the way
to the moving bookcase on the right. Push it on the lowered bookcase that isn't
moving on the left of the moving one, then use the moving one to go up to the
floor above. Hit the switch there to raise the other bookcase and pull the one
you put on top. Start pushing it all the way to the right and drop it off the
edge. Jump down and place it in the middle, then go back up and use it to cross
over to the other side.
Taking the exit will return you to the entrance room. Drop down and head over
to the right back to the second room where the boss gate is. Unlock the door
and go through. The boss isn't too difficult, just use thunder or blizzard
spells on it to freeze and paralyse it, while you attack. Try to attack by
behind so it can't hit you and run around to avoid the magic. With a second
party member using the spells while you attack, the fight is pretty easy. Grab
the crystal shard after the battle and leave town.
Village
Return to your village and take the new crystal fragment to the little girl at
the end of the forest to view a new scene. Then head back out of the forest and
speak with the two kids in the middle of the village to learn about the ruins'
second entrance. Head over to the ruins, once more.
Ruins -Entrance 2-
Talk to the soldier at the entrance to unlock a new quest, then step on the
large button to open the gate at the back. In the first room, defeat all the
enemies around to make a button appear. Stand on it to drop down to the second
room. Here, head over to the bottom-left and step on all the switches while
avoiding the trap to make a platform raise and reveal a pyramid underneath.
Light it up with lightning magic and throw it on the pedestal on the other side
of the upper area to unlock the next door.
In the third room, step on the switch on the right, then pick up the pyramid
nearby and throw it on the pedestal which will appear next to the switch. Now
cross the path where the spikes were, or cross by jumping on the platforms on
the opposite side to find a chest. Once on the other side, hit the yellow
switch to bring the pyramid to this side. Carry the pyramid down the stairs on
the right and place it on the pedestal to unlock the gate back at the entrance.
Return there (you can use the platform with the switch to cross) and head
through the new door.
In the next room, follow the path to a gap. Grab the handle above, and when at
the highest point, leap over to the area above. Avoid the trap and grab the
pyramid. Carry it down the path and throw it over the handle on the left of the
exit door. Then grab the handle to go up with the pyramid. Drop on the platform
above and grab the pyramid as the platform lowers. Light it up and place it on
the pedestal to unlock the gate below.
Defeat all the enemies in the next room, then quickly hit both pole switches on
each side of the room to reveal a switch. Press it to unlock the door. Head
down to the bottom area of the next room and you'll find a pyramid. Before
picking it up, head up the platforms on the right and pick up the crates there.
Carry them over to the left and pile both of them to form a way to go up. Pick
up the pyramid and climb up the crates to reach the area above. Go left and
throw the pyramid on the pedestal on the moving platform to unlock the gate.
Defeat all the enemies in the final area to obtain the crystal piece. Now
you'll need to return to your village and enter the forest.
Forest -Entrance 2-
You'll notice the forest has changed a bit. In the first area, climb to the top
part and pick up the crate. Carry it to the blocks on the right and throw it on
the switch to unlock the gate. Pick up the pyramid in the second area and place
it on the pedestal across the water to open the door. Defeat all enemies in the
third area, then speak to Eryll to give her the last crystal shard. After the
short scene, head through the new passageway on the other side to enter a new
part of the forest.
Touch the blocks at the entrance to remove them, then cross the water and use
fire magic on the pot in the middle to hit all four switches at the same time
and make a block appear. Go touch the block, then head down through the
bottom-left door. In the next area, defeat all the enemies to unlock the gate,
then touch the block. There are some chests at the top of the area too. Then
head to the last room.
Touch the two blocks here that you brough from the previous areas to place them
in the structure. Now only one is missing. Pick up the blue pot on the right
and carry it to the narrow piece of land in the middle of the lake where the
red spheres are. Put it down at the tip and use fire magic on it when the three
spheres move close to you to hit them all at the same time. The last block will
apear; touch it, then grab the key on top and unlock the boss door in the
top-right corner.
The boss is basically the same as the very first one, so it should be easy.
Just jump on his shoulders and knock his helmet off. Then keep hitting his head
until he's defeated. Head through the door after the fight and watch the
cutscene. Afterwards, take the time to look around the village and speak with
the villagers to gather more information, if you want. When you're done, talk
to Sherlotta a couple of times until she gives you the option to return to the
world map.
Town
Go back to the town and speak with the two characters (one has green hair and
the other is a Yuke) standing in the rightmost corner of the second area, where
the store stand and parasols are. You'll learn the way into the graveyard
during the discussion, which is your next destination.
Graveyard
In the graveyard you'll come across transparent enemies that you can't seem to
defeat. You'll need to first use the Clear spell on them to make them visible
again before you can hit them. In the first area, use Clear on the blue magic
pot to take the poison off it, then pick it up and carry it up to the upper
area. Put down the pot on the button on the right to lower a candle, then use
Fire on the pot to spit the magic to the candle and open the gate.
Cross the second area and go through the top-right exit. You can't do much here
for now. Head down on the left and push the first block down into the gap so it
presses the button below. Push the second block left into the gap too, then
push and pull the last block across the path all the way to the other side and
drop it down the gap filled with water. A jar will appear. Go get it and place
it on the symbol at the entrance. Stand on it to go up and through the top
exit. Hit the switch, then drop down to the second area and go through the exit
on the left side.
Head up on the left and pick up the crate in the corner. Carry it down and drop
it on the switch to lower a third candle. Go down to the bottom area and touch
the blue blocks in the corner to lower them, then use Clear on the magic pot to
take the poison off. Pick it up and bring it to the platform next to the switch
with the crate. Now pick up the jar near the signpost and drop it on the switch
in the area below, in the alcove where the blue blocks were. The platform with
the pot will raise. Go stand on it and use Fire magic on the pot to hit all
three candles. Then pick back up the jar and place it on the symbol at the
entrance to go up to the top exit. Hit the switch, then drop down.
Back in the second area, the three blue spheres should now be down. Get the
magic pot in this area and place it on the little platform next to the spheres.
Use Blizzard magic on it to hit all three spheres and open the gate ahead. In
the next area, put down the jar on the symbol to repel the poison mist. You can
carry it around to protect yourself. Go right and use Thunder magic on the
yellow sphere in the water pool to make a pole switch appear in the water. Hit
the switch all the way, then pick back up the protection jar and put it down on
one of the switches near the exit gate, while you go stand on the second switch
to open the gate.
You'll find two empty coffins in the next area. Ignore the first one and pull
the second one to the right. Push it on the platform ahead, then hit the blue
switch nearby to raise the platform and the coffin. Pull the coffin over to the
left across the pit. Push it down in the gulp so it creates a bridge to the
other side. Pull the coffin out of the wall on the other side and push it
across the bridge you just created. Push it all the way to the right-end of the
area down the pit across the block, then pull out the block over the coffin and
push it all the way left across the other coffin to the leftmost side. Drop it
into the hole to press the switch and unlock the gate.
In the area ahead, head over to the left side and pull the coffin to the right
where the gaps in the floor are. Push it down in the gap against the wall to
make a bridge. Now head for the top-right corner and pull down the coffin there
to the area with the gaps. Push it across the coffin bridge and down into the
gap on the left. Then head for the top-left corner and pull down the last
coffin to the gap area. Push it over the coffin you just placed and into the
pool of water. Now use Clear on the tip of the coffin and the key above should
drop. Pick it up and take it to the pedestal on the right to open the exit
gate.
In the following area, pull the first coffin into the wall, then get out and
push it all the way into it, or just pull it all the way, then switch over to a
party member and call back the other one out from the wall. You can now move
the block on the left, so pull it out to the entrance area and down the hole in
the corner to press the switch inside. A symbol will appear under the jar to
protect you from the mist. Carry the jar with you and go left. Pull the left
coffin into the wall like you did previously and then pull out the other coffin
from the top wall.
Move the block in the alcove on the left to get it out the way, then pull the
coffin to the right, and then down into the gulp in the pit to make a bridge.
Now get the block and push it across the coffin bridge. On the other side,
carry the protection jar to the platform on the left of the blue switch and
drop it on the platform in the hole. Then push the block over the jar and hit
the switch to raise the platform. Push the block on the switch over to the
left, then go stand on the other switch in the corner to open the door leading
to the final area.
Start by hitting the pole switch down below to drain the water, then go down
and pull the coffin out of the wall and against the wall on the left. Go back

up and push the block down so it lands on top of the coffin, then push back the
coffin to the right and wait for the water to fill back. Use Clear while
standing on the block or coffin to make the magic pot drop into the water. Hit
the pole switch again to drain the water, then go down and pick up the pot.
Place it on top of the block on the coffin, then push the coffin against the
back wall. Wait for the water to fill, then use Fire magic on the pot to hit
the candles above the water. The boss key will appear. Pick it up and unlock
the gate above.
The boss hits hard, but she's not too difficult to defeat. First, you'll need
to use the Clear spell whenever she turns transparent to make her visible
again. Then avoid her attacks and she will try to ram into you. Get out of the
way and she should hit the wall instead, and collapse on the ground. Use the
opportunity to hit her vulnerable point on her back. You can also cast Blizzard
to freeze her. Simply repeat the process until she's done with, and grab the
shiny object afterwards.
After the cutscene, return to town and enter the library once more.
Library -Entrance 3-
This time you'll be able to enter a new area through the middle passage. Defeat
all enemies in the second room to open the way to the third room. Defeat all
the enemies in this room as well, then head through the door on the left which
will be unlocked. Do the same with the next room to open the way to the fifth
room which finally holds a puzzle. Grab the white book on the ground and toss
it on the book holder on the right, then go stand on the moving platform with
the white sphere and wait for the magic to hit. Now head up the bookcase and
defeat the enemies above.
Either bring the white book from down below to the upper area or get the other
white book over to the right and bring it to the left; either way make sure you
have two white books at hand ready to use. Place the first one on the book
holder and run to the white sphere nearby to hit it, then quickly pick up the
second white book and put it on the book holder and lead the circle to the
other white sphere on the other side of the bookshelves with a magic spell of
yours.
Once both spheres are hit the way will open. In the next room defeat all
enemies, then place the white book on the book holder and lead the magic circle
to the white sphere. Defeat the next wave of enemies, then place the brown book
on the holder to unlock the door. Defeat all enemies in the last room, then
examine the purple book in the bookcase to find the way into the mines. Go back
to the world map and travel east to the new location.
Mine
As you enter the mines, defeat every single enemy in the first room, including
the ones in the water, to unlock the gate on the other side. Then use the
platform to reach the door by casting fire magic on the orbs in the desired
direction. In the second area, head for the top-right corner and place the jar
on the shadow on the ground, then use it to jump and reach the handle above (or
just double jump with a Selkie). Carry the jar afterwards to the blue symbol
nearby and stand on the jar to go up and jump to reach the second handle up in
the air. The large boulder will smash the way leading to the next room.
You should be back in the first area, with the water drained. Move the platform
with the orbs over to the other side and pull the block to reveal an alcove
with a key. Put the key on the platform and move it back to the next gate.
Place the key on the pedestal and proceed. In the third area, put the jar on
the symbol to repel the poison and place it on the platform. Use the buttons to
move the platform over to the top-right corner and the bottom-left where you'll
find a candle. Light up both candles with fire magic to open the next gate,
then go through. In the next area, move down the platform and grab the moving
handle to unlock the gate. Move back up the platform and head on.
In the fifth room, head up and defeat the large feline enemy to make a yellow
orb appear. Cast thunder magic on it to raise the platform and then push the
block over the switch to open the door. Next, some platforming fun. Hit the
pole switch all the way, then quickly run across the obstacle course and take
the platform up. Hit the yellow orb with Thunder to activate the platform in
case you need to go back up, then cross the gap with the moving platforms to
reach the exit. If you miss it, start over with the new platform to save time.
Defeat all the tiny little enemies at the exit to get the key and place it on
the pedestal to open the door leading back to the previous room.
Head down and cast thunder magic on the new yellow orb. Jump down and hit the
switch to raise the platform below (only if it had been lowered previously),
then go back up using the moving platform in the corner and push the block all
the way to the button on the other side to unlock the door. Before leaving,
defeat the eye enemy in the top area and get the explosive barrel. Carry it it
to the breakable wall on the left and blow it up with fire magic to reveal a
chest behind the wall containning Spacetime Boost. Now move out to be back in
the fourth area.
Press the switch at the entrance to make a boulder fall and smash the way
ahead. Head down to the new area and move the platform to the left. Grab the
crate in the corner and take it with you on the platform. Move the platform to
the left-end and put down the crate on the switch in front of the exit. A
handle will come down. Pull it to open the door. In the next area, start by
picking up the red pot and bring it to the ice pool on the left. Light it up
and throw it in to unfreeze the water. The small platform will start moving.
Now go get the blue pot and throw it in the water while the small platform is
moving away to freeze the water without the platform in the way, so you can
pull the block and push it over the switch on the other side, making the nearby
platform lift up.
Now go back to the entrance and hit the pole switch all the way, then quickly
take the lift up and slide down the zip line on the right. Half-way through,
drop down on the two platforms that were activated by the pole switch. Stand on
the rightmost one and wait. It should lift you up so you can reach the ledge
above. Pick up the magic pot and go right to head back down. Take back the lift
up to the upper area and place the magic pot on the land between the yellow
orbs. Return to the entrance again and bring the fire pot up to the upper area.
Light it, then throw it on the ice pond in the corner to unfreeze the water and
reveal a third yellow sphere. Now use Thunder on the magic pot that you placed
in the middle to hit all three orbs and open the gate.
In the following room, defeat every single enemy to make a crate appear. Put
down the crate on one of the two switches, then go back up to the first switch
and stay on it to keep it pressed down. A boulder should come down and run over
the water. Right after it passes, go back down to the crate and keep the second
switch pressed so the boulder passes over the bridge. It will smash the way out
of the room at the end. In the next area simply defeat all enemies to unlock
the gate and go through.
Now use the platform to move around and look in all corners of the area to find
four candles. Light all of them with fire magic, and a jar will appear. Take
the jar and bring it on the platform with you, then move the platform to the
center of the room. Place the jar on the blue symbol and stand on it to go up
and reach a handle. Pulling it will drop a key. Put the key on the platform and
the jar also. If you use the jar on the symbol in the opposite corner of the
room you can reach a chest with an Anti-Time Boost. Otherwise, just bring the
jar and the key to the top-right corner where the jar first appeared.
Put the jar on the symbol here to go up and carry the fire pot down. Light it
up, then throw it in the ice below to unfreeze it. The platform with the symbol
will move. Now put back the jar on the symbol, and get on it while carrying the
key. Jump on the ledge at the right when the platform moves there, or press the
switch above to use the other platform as a lift, and finally place the key on
the pedestal to unlock the door. Grab the boss key in the room ahead, then drop
down and use the moving platform to reach and go through the door in the
top-left corner and be back in the fourth room.
Step on the button at the entrance to make three eye blocks appear underwater.
Touch all three of them by diving (press C button and hold down) and the block
will come out. Jump on them to reach the shore on the left and unlock the boss
door with the key. Now for the frog boss, wait for it to jump and stick to the
wall, then attack it while it's on the wall or while it's preparing an attack
by swallowing air in to make it fall flat into the water, its belly sticking
out. Attack it for major damage. Avoid the bubble attacks, then wait for it to
jump to the wall again and strike. Repeat the process until the frog is
defeated and watch the ensuing scene.
Now you'll need to visit two locations; Fire Mountain and Ice Mountain. In each
of the two areas, head back to the ruins in the last area where you pushed the
block and walk up to the structures to trigger some cutscenes. Nothing really
changed in neither of the areas so you know the way. After you've seen both
scenes, the Gate will be open. Back on the world map, travel to this new
location.
Gate
After the short scene at the entrance, head onto the bridge to enter the Gate.
In the first area, pull out the blocks from the back to make the pillars above
fall so you can cross. A bit further ahead, pull the large block on the right
to make a pillar fall with a key. Carry the key to the pedestal at the end of
the area to open the door and continue to the following room.
In the second area, hit the pole switch in the bottom corner to raise a
platform and then press the switch underneath where the spikes are. Pillars
will come up. Jump from pillar to pillar to reach the upper area and stand on
the platform at the end to move. Touch the two blue blocks to lower them and
cross over to the other side, then move out.
In the next area, hit the switch on the left first, then go down and hit the
pole switch. A boulder will roll down and crush the block ahead, clearing the
way. Make your way to the top of the area and proceed to the following room.
Here, just head out the exit on the left and defeat the enemy carrying the jar
in the next room. Bring the jar to the blue symbol in the middle of the area
and use it to go up.
Take the pulley to the right to find a chest, otherwise just exit through the
middle door to be back in the previous room. Use the zipline to slide down and
drop down on the ledge half-way through. Press the switch there, then cross
using the platforms and push the block with the pillar to get the key on top.
Then push the other block on the switch, pick up the key and carry it to the
exit using the moving platform on the left. Place it on the pedestal to open
the door.
You'll be back in the previous area again. Defeat all enemies on the left to
make a button appear and press it to lower the pillar below. Now go back down
to that enemy holding the jar and defeat it. Carry the jar back to the blue
symbol from before and go up. Pick up the key from the lowered pillar on the
left and bring it down below. Get back the jar and place it on the other blue
symbol at the back of the area. Take the key and use the jar to go back up to
the upper area. Put down the key on the pedestal to unlock the door and go
through.
Now press the button at the top, and a boulder will roll down. Quickly run down
and pull the handle to change the boulder's direction. It will crush the big
block on the right. Jump down in the hole where the block was to press a button
in there. The platform will raise. Jump to the other platform in the air and
press the button on this one to reach a new area. Here just go up to the top of
the area and defeat the turtle enemy to get the boss key, then slide down the
zipline to the next room.
Back in the previous room with the boulder, press the button again to make the
boulder fall, then go hit the pole switch to change the boulder's course, which
will roll down left and destroy the big block there. Head down and defeat all
enemies to unlock the door, then proceed to the last room. Cross the falling
platforms to reach the other side and follow the path to the save stone. Open
the gate with the boss key and head on.
There are two robots to defeat at the same time, but they're not really
difficult. The gold one doesn't do much, so keep that one for last. The silver
one will do projectile attacks with status ailments, which is really annoying,
so take down that one first, then take care of the gold one afterwards. They
don't really have any weak points besides their backs so just attack normally
and heal when needed. After the battle, leave the area and enter the Tower.
Tower
Cross the entrance area to enter the Tower. In the first room, go right and
move the blocks to reveal a blue barrel. Use Blizzard on it, then throw it in
the pool of water to freeze it. Now move one of the blocks over the ice, right
below the big block above. Grab the red barrel and place it on top of the
block, then use Fire on it to make it explode and blow up the big block. Carry
the blue barrel up to the floor above and throw it in the other pool of water
on the left to freeze it, then place the red barrel next to the wall on the
ice. Make it explode to destroy the big block in the wall and reveal an alcove
with a switch. Press it, then climb up using the platforms on the right and use
the pulley to reach the top floor.
Check the water pool on the right to see where the underwater button is, then
freeze the water with the blue barrel and move the block over to the ice where
the button is (close to the column, a bit past it). After that use the fire
barrel and throw it in to unfreeze the water and have the block fall on top of
the switch, which will give you a water barrel. Freeze the water once more to
get the barrel and carry it to the right. Throw it into the flames to unlock
the door. For the next part just defeat all enemies, then stand on the big
button to go up to the next room. To get the two chests below, hit all white
orbs with the magic from the books by setting them on the book holder (or cast
Holy with Cure+Raise).
In the next area, head over to the right and hit the pillar switch all the way,
then quickly push in one of the yellow beams into the wall. As soon as it gets
in the wall, run back to the pillar switch and hit it again before it goes back
to its starting position. It moves back really fast, so you have to be ultra
quick. After pushing in the first beam and then hitting back the switch,
quickly go and push the second beam in. Once both beams are in, the door will
unlock. The next room is just an obstacle course. Follow the path and avoid the
spikes and other dangers to reach the exit.
Defeat all enemies in the following room to unlock the gate, then proceed. Now
you'll need to push the yellow beams into the wall in the right order to open
the gate. Starting from the left, push the third beam, then first, then last
and finally second. In the next room use the platform to cross by casting the
right magic on the orbs, then carry the jar to the blue pad and use it to fly
up. Jump to the platform with the yellow sphere and cast Thunder magic on it to
unlock the door below. In the next room, throw the key on top of the handle,
then cross using the handle and quickly pick back up the key from the handle
before it moves back. Place the key on the pedestal to proceed.
You'll wind up on another elevator. Defeat all enemies and use the pulleys to
reach the chest above, then stand on the big button that appears to go up to
the next part. Simply follow the path here until you reach the following room.
Here, defeat all enemies to make a pyramid appear, then use Thunder on the
pyramid to light it up, and place it on the pedestal to move the platform to
the left. Pick back up the pyramid and get off the platform. Place the pyramid
on the pedestal on the small platform on the side, then cross over the bridge
with the spikes.
Use the zipline in the next area to reach a platform with a button. Press it to
move the platform left and grab the pyramid on the way. Jump back on the bridge
and carry the pyramid across it. Place it on the next pedestal on the right to
make the platform move, then pick back up the pyramid and jump down to the
exit. Place the pyramid on the pedestal here to open the door, then enter the
next room. Defeat all the enemies in here, then carry the pyramid to the other
pedestal that will appear after you've cleared the room and go through the new
door.
Get on the moving platform here, then pick up the pyramid and get on the other
platform to reach the other side. Place the pyramid on the pedestal, then go
through the door. Pick back up the pyramid in the next room and throw it on the
pedestal on the moving platform, then go back two rooms back to the room where
you had to defeat several enemies. A new door will be open here. Go through,
then in the next room use the platform to move over to the left and pick back
up the pyramid you placed before on the moving platform. Bring it to the middle
of the area on one of the pedestal. Then move to the right and hit the two pole
switches to get a second pyramid. Carry it to the center and put it on the
other pedestal to make some platforms appear. Head up and through the exit.
The last elevator. Defeat all enemies and get the chests, then grab the key and
stand on the big button to go up to the very top of the tower. Save at the
stone and head through the boss gate. There are two phases to the boss. The
first one is pretty simple, and reminiscent of the first library boss fight.
Just attack the minions until you start to flash and then let them explode. If
the boss is standing close he will get it by the explosions and will remain
stunned for a short time. Attack him during that time, then keep attacking
during all time the minions are gone. You can avoid the attacks easily simply
by running around, then hitting him by behind. He will then summon more minions
so just repeat the process and have them explode to stun the boss and attack
until you defeat him.
After another cutscene, the second phase of the battle will begin. This one is
a little harder. Start by attack the boss by behind while avoiding his spells
until he transforms into a bigger version of himself. First destroy the three
magic pillars which are casting spells or they will be a real annoyance. Then
keep on hitting on the boss' main body while avoiding his attacks. If you need
potions, destroy his arms first to get some. You should destroy them too
anyways since they are casting spells. Once nothing is in your way anymore
attack the boss until he turns back into the first form and will be stunned for
a while. Hit him until he is defeated and watch the ensuing scenes.
Hit the crystal after the scene to trigger the ending. You'll then be back at
the village. Head up to the forest and travel to the last area where the
crystal usually is to view the end credits. Afterwards you're free to save and
do whatever. There is a new dungeon on the little island in the southeast
corner of the world map. You can also start the New Game+ on the title screen
and play on Hard mode.
Extra Dungeon: River Belle
The bonus dungeon can be found after beating the final boss, in the eastern
side of the world map, on a little island surrounded by water. River Belle is
molded after the original level from the first game, and is the same as in Ring
of Fates. The whole area is shrouded in miasma, so you'll need to use the
bucket (sorry, the jar) to repel it. Or use a lot of Cure spells. This level is
pretty hard, so bring party members and make sure you're at a high level. It's
a very short dungeon, though. To make it through the first area, defeat all the
enemies in the northeast corner to make a key appear and place it on the
pedestal to move on to the second area, which doesn't hold much either.
There are some chests around, but some are mimics. You can find a Moogle in the
north with some barrels containning potions. When you're done, just head
through the cave below the bridge west of where the Moogle is. The boss is
quite hard. It doesn't have any special weak point, so just attack normally. He
will jump around and try to hit you with its claw, so stay out of its way. Heal
when necessary and collect the loot afterwards. When you're done with this, you
can return to the library and defeat all enemies in the first room. A warp will
appear, leading to a room which holds all bosses from Ring of Fates for you to
defeat one by one. That's pretty much all of the extra stuff.
