NOTICE: This FAQ contains spoilers regarding the final stage of the game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part 1 - Introduction
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Elite Beat Agents is the excellent Americanized follow-up to the Nintendo DS
import hit of 2006, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! In this FAQ, I aim to lay out the
lyrics to each of the songs in the game, along with other minor information
about each song, such as the artist covering it and the name of the level where
it appears. The difficulty listed for each song (from one to eight stars) is
the difficulty level assigned by the game.
What appears here are the songs as they appear in Elite Beat Agents, which are
not the original songs - they're all cover versions (although in most cases
they're reproduced quite faithfully). So you'll notice that the lyric sets in
this FAQ don't always match up exactly to the original versions of the songs;
there are changed and missing words, missing lines, even entire missing
verses. Please be aware that these are NOT mistakes on the part of this FAQ.
I've listened carefully to each song in-game (using the Replay function) to
ensure accuracy, and when I thought I noticed missing or changed lyrics, I
made a point of listening several more times to make sure my transcriptions
were faithful to the game - NOT to the original versions. I've tried to note
at the top of each sub-section whether there are any significant changes.
Part 3 of the FAQ contains what little information I was able to gather about
the artists who did the cover versions of the songs.
I really enjoy the gameplay of Elite Beat Agents and Ouendan, and part of the
fun of Elite Beat Agents is being able to understand the songs as I play the
levels. I'm pleased to have been able to contribute to the community in some
small way, and I hope you find this guide useful.

2.1 - "Walkie Talkie Man"
"Walkie Talkie Man"
Original artist: Steriogram
EBA cover artist: Jason Paige
Episode 1: "Trio of Mayhem! Love and Boyfriends!!"
Difficulty: 1 star
Tier: 1
Notes: The first verse of the original is repeated several times at the end of
the EBA version.
Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin'
And a-movin' and a-groovin'
And a-hippin' and a-hoppin'
And a-pickin' and a-boppin'
Those bods are being bad,
You better take a stand,
You gonna wake up that thing in your hand.
You're looking all around,
There's trouble to be found,
Make sure, when you find it, you get to say it loud.
Got a code three - need back up -
Bring me my bright pink fluoro jacket!
He's fat and he don't run too fast, (Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin')
But he's faster than me. (You're my walkie talkie man)
Last night at the show we saw him (Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin')
Going out of his tree.
Go! Go! Go! Go!
Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin'
And a-freakin' and a-yellin'
And a-bossin' and a-speakin'
And a-lookin' and a-pointin'
Always tell us what to do
With your high top shoes,
And you wave your torch
With your black short-shorts.
Don't let em get away;
Don't think they can play;
Nail 'em to the wall,
'Cause you really need to say:
Got a code three - need back up -
Bring me my bright pink fluoro jacket!
He's fat and he don't run too fast, (Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin')
But he's faster than me. (You're my walkie talkie man)
Last night at the show we saw him (Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin')
Going out of his tree.
Go! Go! Go! Go!
Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin'
And a-movin' and a-groovin'
And a-hippin' and a-hoppin'
And a-pickin' and a-boppin'
Those bods are being bad,
You better take a stand,
You gonna wake up that thing in your hand.
You're looking all around,

Going out of his tree.
Go! Go! Go! Go!
He's fat and he don't run too fast,
But he's faster than me.
Last night at the show we saw him
Going out of his tree.
My walkie talkie man!
(overlapped with the first verse)
He's fat and he don't run too fast, (Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin')
But he's faster than me. (You're my walkie talkie man)
Last night at the show we saw him (Well, you're walkin' and a-talkin')
Going out of his tree.
Go! Go! Go! Go!

2.2 - "Makes No Difference"
"Makes No Difference"
Original artist: Sum 41
EBA cover artist: Vinn Lombardo
Episode 2: "Red Carpet Premiere! Smash Hit or Box Office Crash!!"
Difficulty: 2 stars
Tier: 2
You're running fast and missing but cannot help convincing
The reasons you gave me are all wearing thin.
It's not meant to hurt you but let me assure you,
It's not what I said but intentions you've read.
So when you hold onto the past then you
Will break down what little is left.
Yeah, there's nothing more you can't ignore,
And say it makes no difference to me.
Now that you're older, life's weighing on your shoulders.
You can't seem to keep things so perfectly straight.
With most things so basic you might as well face it:
You can't help but worry it's all just begun
So when you hold onto the past then you
Will break down what little is left.
Yeah, there's nothing more you can't ignore,
And say it makes no difference to me.
It makes no difference to me...
It makes no difference to me...
It makes no difference to me...
It makes no difference.
So when you hold onto the past then you
Will break down what little is left.
Yeah, there's nothing more you can't ignore,
And say it makes no difference to me.
It makes no difference...
It makes no difference to me.
It makes no difference...
It makes no difference to me.

2.3 - "Sk8er Boi"
"Sk8er Boi"

EBA cover artist: Angela Michael
Episode 3: "Hey, Taxi! To the Hospital, and Hurry!!"
Difficulty: 2 stars
Tier: 2
Notes: The last two verses of the original do not appear in the EBA version,
and a few words may have been changed.
He was a boy, she was a girl,
Can I make it anymore obvious?
He was a punk, she did ballet,
What more can I say?
He wanted her, but she'd never tell:
Secretly she wanted him as well.
But all of her friends stuck up their nose;
They had a problem with his baggy clothes.
He was a skater boy;
She said, "See ya later, boy!"
He wasn't good enough for her.
She had a pretty face,
But her head was up in space;
She needed to come back down to Earth.
He was a skater boy;
She said, "See ya later, boy!"
He wasn't good enough for her.
She had a pretty face,
But her head was up in space;
She needed to come back down to Earth.
Five years from now, she sits at home,
Feeding a baby, she's all alone.
She turns on T.V., guess who she sees -
Skater boy rocking on MTV!
She calls up her friends; they already know,
And they've all got tickets to his show.
She tags along and stands in the crowd,
Looks up at the man that she turned down.
He was a skater boy;
She said, "See ya later, boy!"
He wasn't good enough for her.
Now he's a superstar,
Jamming on his guitar -
Did your pretty face see what he's worth?
He was a skater boy;
She said, "See ya later, boy!"
He wasn't good enough for her.
Now he's a superstar,
Jamming on his guitar -
Did your pretty face see what he's worth?
Sorry, girl, but you missed out.
Well, tough luck, that boy's mine now!
We are more than just good friends;
This is how the story ends.
I'm with the skater boy;
I said, "See ya later, boy -
I'll be backstage after the show!"
I'll be at the studio
Singing the song we wrote
About a girl he used to know.
I'm with the skater boy;
I said, "See ya later, boy -
I'll be backstage after the show!"
I'll be at the studio
Singing the song we wrote
About a girl he used to know.

I'm caught in a dream
And my dream's come true.
So hard to believe
This is happening to me -
An amazing feeling

With every single beat of my heart.
I was born to take care of you, honey,
Every single day of my life.
I wanna love you...
I love every little thing about you.
I wanna love you, love you, love you...
Born - to love you!
Born - to love you!
Yes, I was born to love you...
Born - to love you!
Born - to love you!
Every single day... day of my life...
An amazing feeling

I was born to love you

Well, my baby and me went out last Saturday night.
I had my hair piled high; my baby just looked so right.
Well, pick you up at ten; gotta get you home at two;
Mama don't know what I've got in store for you.
Well that's alright, 'cause we're looking as cool as can be.
We found a little place that really didn't look half-bad.
I had a whiskey on the rocks and change of a dollar for the jukebox.
Well, I put a quarter right into that can,
But all it played was disco, man!
C'mon pretty baby, let's get outta here right away.
We're gonna rock this town, rock it inside out.
We're gonna rock this town; we'll make 'em scream and shout.
Well, let's rock! Rock! Rock, man, rock!
We're gonna rock till we pop; we're gonna roll till we drop.
We're gonna rock this town, rock it inside out.
Well, we're having a ball just a-tearing up the big dance floor!
Well, there's a real square cat, he looks nineteen-seventy-four.
Well, you look at me once, you look at me twice,
You look at me again and there's a-gonna be a fight!
We're gonna rock this town, rip this place apart.
We're gonna rock this town, rock it inside out.
We're gonna rock this town; we'll make 'em scream and shout.
Well, let's rock, rock, rock, rock!
We're gonna rock till we pop; we're gonna roll till we drop.
We're gonna rock this town, rock it inside out.
We're gonna rock this town, rock it inside out.

In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced in the night -
Remember how the stars stole the night away?
Hey hey hey,
Ba de da - say, do you remember...
Ba de da - dancing in September?
Ba de da - never was a cloudy day...
Ba da da...
My thoughts are with you,
Holding hands with your heart to see you.
Only blue talk and love -
Remember how we knew love was here to stay?
Now December found the love that we shared in September.
Only blue talk and love -
Remember the true love we share today!
Hey hey hey,
Ba de da - say, do you remember...
Ba de da - dancing in September?
Ba de da - never was a cloudy day...
Now our bell was ringing, aha!

You know this boogie is for real...
I used to buy my faith in worship,
But then my chance to get to Heaven slipped.
I used to worry about the future,
Then I threw my caution to the wind.
I had no reason to be care free (no no no)
Until I took a trip to the other side of town (yeah yeah yeah).
You know I heard that boogie rhythm...
Hey! I had no choice but to get down, down, down, down...
Dance! Nothing left for me to do but dance.
All these bad times I'm going through, just dance!
Got canned heat in my heels tonight, baby!
You know this boogie is for real...
I've got this voodoo child inveined on me.
I'm gonna use my power to ascend.
You know I've got these boogie heels to use,
Sunshine, there's no way I lose.
I was born to walk and built to last.
You never seen my feet 'cause they're movin so fast.
Dance! Nothing left for me to do but dance.
All these bad times I'm going through, just dance!
Got canned heat in my heels tonight, baby!
Dance!
Dance
Hey, DJ, let the music play;
I wanna live this party life.
Hey, DJ, blow my cares away;
I wanna live this party life.
Hey, DJ, let the music play;
I wanna live this party life.
Hey, DJ, blow my cares away;
I wanna live this party life.
Canned heat in my heels tonight!
Dance! You know that this boogie is for real.
Dance! Got so much canned heat in my heels.
Dance! Gonna dance, gonna dance my blues away tonight!
Dance! You know that this boogie is for real.

"Material Girl"
Original artist: Madonna
EBA cover artist: Melissa Garber
Episode 10: "Survive! Celebrity Lives and Desert Isles!!"
Difficulty: 5 stars
Tier: 4
Some boys kiss me, some boys hug me,
I think they're okay.
If they don't give me proper credit
I just walk away.
They can beg and they can plead but
They can't see the light (that's right, that's right).
'Cause the boy with cold hard cash
Is always Mister Right.
'Cause we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl.
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl.
Some boys romance, some boys slow dance,
That's all right with me.
If they can't raise my interest then I
Have to let them be.
Some boys try and some boys lie but
I don't let them play (no way, no way).
Only boys who save their pennies
Make my rainy day.
'Cause we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl.
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl.
Living in a material world (material)
Living in a material world...
Living in a material world (material world)
Living in a material world...
Boys may come and boys may go,
And that's all right, you see.
Experience has made me rich,
And now they're after me.
'Cause everybody's living in a material world
And I am a material girl.
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl.
A material, material, material...
'Cause we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl.
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl.
Living in a material world (material)
Living in a material world...
Living in a material world (material world)
Living in a material world...
Living in a material world (material)
Living in a material world...

The kind of love to last forever.

Always on my mind, in my heart, in my soul, baby
You're the meaning in my life;
You're the inspiration.
You bring feeling to my life;
You're the inspiration.
Wanna have you near me,
I wanna have you hear me saying,
"No one needs you more than I need you."
And I know (and I know), yes I know that it's plain to see
We're so in love when we're together.
Now I know (now I know) that I need you here with me
From tonight until the end of time.
You should know, everywhere I go
Always on my mind, in my heart, in my soul
You're the meaning in my life;

"Let's Dance"
Original artist: David Bowie
EBA cover artist: Delaney Wolff
Episode 13: "Rags to Riches! Go East Wildcatter!"
Difficulty: 6 stars
Tier: 6
Let's dance.
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues.
Let's dance
To the song they're playing on the radio.
Let's sway
While color lights up your face.
Let's sway,
Sway through the crowd to an empty space.
If you say run, I'll run with you.
If you say hide, we'll hide.
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall into my arms,
Tremble like a flower.
Let's dance
For fear your grace should fall.
Let's dance
For fear tonight is all.
Let's sway.
You could look into my eyes.
Let's sway
Under the moonlight, the serious moonlight.
And if you say run, I'll run with you.
And if you say hide, we'll hide.
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall into my arms,
Tremble like a flower.

2.14 - "The Anthem"
"The Anthem"
Original artist: Good Charlotte
EBA cover artist: Kevin Ridel
Episode 14: "Batter Up! Home Run Hero Makes a Comeback!!"
Difficulty: 7 stars
Tier: 6
Notes: The second half of verse 2 in the original does not appear in the EBA
version.
It's a new day, but it all feels old.
It's a good life, that's what I'm told,
But everything, it all just feels the same.
And my high school, it felt more to me
Like a jail cell, a penitentiary;
My time spent there, it only made me see...
That I don't ever wanna be like you,
I don't wanna do the things you do.
I'm never gonna hear the words you say,
And I don't ever wanna, I don't ever wanna be...
You...
Don't wanna be just like you.
Oh, what I'm sayin' is
This is the anthem,
Throw all your hands up,
You...
Don't wanna be you.
I wanna get by, and just do my time,
Out of step while they all get in line.
I'm just a minor threat so pay no mind.
Do you really wanna be like them?
Do you really wanna be another trend?
Do you wanna be part of their crowd?
'Cause I don't ever wanna, I don't ever wanna be...
You...
Don't wanna be just like you
Oh, what I'm sayin' is
This is the anthem,
Throw all your hands up,
You...
Don't wanna be you.
Shake it once, that's fine;
Shake it twice, that's okay;
Shake it three times, you're playing with yourself again...
You...
Don't wanna be just like you.
Oh, what I'm sayin' is
This is the anthem,
Throw all your hands up,
Y'all got to feel me,
Sing if you're with me!
You...
Don't wanna be just like you (just like you).
This is the anthem,
Throw all your hands up,
Y'all got to feel me,
Sing if you're with me!
Another loser anthem, whoa!
Another loser anthem, whoa!
Another loser anthem, whoa!
Another loser anthem...

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Wake up, our life is calling!
There's smoke, but not a fire.
Give us a sign that we're alive.
Step out of indecision!
Have we been hypnotized
To think that everything's alright?
The clock is counting down...
The seconds tick away...
This is our time
Without a doubt!
Time to ignite...
We're not going down
Without a fight!
This is our time!
Get up off the ground!
Take what is mine!
We're not going down
Without a fight!
Let's go, the curtain's open!
Get this show on the road!
I want to feel my heart explode...
The clock is counting down...
The seconds tick away...
This is our time
Without a doubt!
Time to ignite...
We're not going down
Without a fight!
This is our time!
Get up off the ground!
Take what is mine!

Original artist: The Rolling Stones
EBA cover artist: Billy Fogarty
Episode 15: "No More Music!? The Last Hope!!" (Part 2)
Difficulty: 8 stars
Tier: 7
Notes: The EBA version seems to have a considerably longer outro than the
original.
I was born in a crossfire hurricane,
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain.
But it's all right now; in fact, it's a gas!
Yes, it's all right...
Jumpin' Jack Flash, it's a gas, gas, gas!
I was raised by a toothless, bearded hag.
I was schooled with a strap right across my back.
But it's all right now; in fact, it's a gas!
Yes, it's all right...
Jumpin' Jack Flash, it's a gas, gas, gas!
I was drowned; I was washed up and left for dead.
I fell down to my feet and I saw they bled.
I frowned at the crumbs of a crust of bread.
I was crowned with a spike right thru my head,
Right through my head!
But it's all right now; in fact, it's a gas!
Yes, it's all right...
Jumpin' Jack Flash, it's a gas, gas, gas!
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas,
Jumping jack flash, it's a gas...
It's a gas!

After love, after love, after love...
No matter how hard I try,
You keep pushing me aside,
And I can't break through.
There's no talking to you.
It's so sad that you're leaving;
It takes time to believe it;
But after all is said and done,
You're going to be the lonely one, oh!
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough, no...
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough, no...
What am I supposed to do?
Sit around and wait for you?
Well, I can't do that,
And there's no turning back.
I need time to move on;
I need love to feel strong,
'Cause I've had time to think it through,
And baby, I'm too good for you, oh!
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough, no...
Well, I know that I'll get through this.
I don't need you anymore...
Oh, I don't need you anymore!
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough, no...
Do you believe in life after love?

All about love, dear, all about love.
Sit yourself down and take a seat.
All you gotta do is repeat after me.

Do re mi, A-B-C, 1-2-3, baby, you and me, girl!

Soul, attained by accumulating 25 million points.
Now that you are out of my life,
I'm so much better,
You thought that I'd be weak without you,
But I'm stronger.
You thought that I'd be broke without you,
But I'm richer.
You thought that I'd be sad without you;
I laugh harder.
You thought I wouldn't grow without you;
Now I'm wiser.
You thought I would be helpless without you,
But I'm smarter.
You thought that I'd be stressed without you,
But I'm chillin'.
You thought I wouldn't sell without you -
Sold nine million.
I'm a survivor,
I'm not gonna give up,
I'm not gonna stop,
I'm gonna work harder,
I'm a survivor,
I'm gonna make it,
I will survive,
Keep on surviving!
Thought I couldn't breathe without you;
I'm inhalin'.
You thought I couldn't see without you -
Perfect vision!
You thought I couldn't last without you,
But I'm lastin'.
You thought that I would die without you,
But I'm livin'.
Thought that I would fail without you,
But I'm on top.
Thought it would be over by now,
But it won't stop.
You thought that I would self-destruct,
But I'm still here;
Even in my years to come,
I'm still gonna be here.
I'm a survivor,
I'm not gonna give up,
I'm not gonna stop,
I'm gonna work harder,
I'm a survivor,
I'm gonna make it,
I will survive,
Keep on surviving!
I'm wishin' you the best,
Pray that you are blessed,
Much success, no stress, and lots of happiness.
(I'm better than that)
I'm not gonna blast you on the radio.
(I'm better than that)
I'm not gonna lie on you or your family, yo.
(I'm better than that)
I'm not gonna hate you in the magazine.
(I'm better than that)
I'm not gonna compromise my Christianity.
(I'm better than that)
You know I'm not gonna diss you on the Internet,
'Cause my momma taught me better than that!
I'm a survivor,
I'm not gonna give up,
I'm not gonna stop,
I'm gonna work harder,
I'm a survivor,
I'm gonna make it,
I will survive,
Keep on surviving!
After all of the darkness and sadness
Still comes happiness.
If I surround myself with positive things,
I'll gain prosperity.
I'm a survivor,
I'm not gonna give up,
I'm not gonna stop,
I'm gonna work harder,
I'm a survivor,
I'm gonna make it,
I will survive,
Keep on surviving!
I'm a survivor,
I'm not gonna give up,
I'm not gonna stop,
I'm gonna work harder,
I'm a survivor,
I'm gonna make it,
I will survive,
Keep on surviving!
I'm a survivor,
I'm not gonna give up,
I'm not gonna stop,
I'm gonna work harder,
I'm a survivor,
I'm gonna make it,
I will survive,
Keep on surviving!
