I.................................INTRODUCTION...........................DQVI1
==============================================================================
I've been wanting to make a FAQ for Dragon Quest VI since I heard about it
being finally released in the US, so being an old fan of Dragon Quest universe
and missing out on this game when I was a kid (this is the first time DQ VI
gets a stateside release), I decided to jump into this game as soon as I got
my hands on it. IMHO, it's one of the most unique RPG of the 90's, and every
RPG fan should play it and love it. The game isn't that complicated, and you
won't find any mind-twisting micromanagement or super complex battle systems
here. It's a rather old fashioned jRPG, and it only benefits from that. The
plot, the characters, the setting - everything is well thought out and brought
to us nicely. I haven't touched the JP version at all, so this walkthrough is
based only on the US version of the game. Therefore, only verified English
names of everything you find in the game are present. Dragon Quest VI is
pretty long, so once you've started, prepare for a magical journey that will
leave you craving for more afterwards. Be sure to check out Dragon Quest IV
and Dragon Quest V for Nintendo DS if you liked this game.

II.................................GAME BASICS...........................DQVI2
==============================================================================
CHURCH SERVICES
---------------
The game can be saved when you speak to a nun or priest inside a church. They
are usually standing at an altar. The game lets you have three simultaneous
saves, and you can make a quicksave from the "Misc." menu to quickly suspend
a game where there's no church nearby. Other church services include:
Divination - the priest tells you how many experience points your characters
need to level up.
Benediction - the priest removes a curse for a certain amount of money (based
on your current level)
Resurrection - the priest resurrects your character(s) for a certain amount of
money (based on your current level)
Purification - the priest purifies you, removing poison status from your
character(s).
MAIN IN-GAME MENU
-----------------
The main in-game menu becomes accessible with the pressing of the X button in
the field. It consists of six main submenus:
• Talk - this is the Party Chat option that lets you see interacting scenes
with characters in your party. It's enjoyable and sometimes may help if you
get lost.
• Magic - opens a spell list that has all the spells you can use in the field,
such as Heal, Zoom, Evac, Peep, etc.
• Items - this menu shows you the items you've collected. They are transfered
to the inventories of your characters, and if they don't have open slots (the
max number of items each party member can carry is 12), the items are carried
over to the Bag. The Bag can carry as many items as you want.
• Examine - this option lets you examine the ground under Hero's feet. You can
also do it with the pressing of the A button.
• Attributes - this is a large menu that shows your characters' stats, field
spells and battle abilities. By pressing the directional buttons on your DS
you switch between the characters in your party, while pressing the A button
lets you change the information displayed. There are quite a few attributes
that play important role in the outcome of your battles. They are:
HP - Hit Points. When their number reaches zero, the character dies.
MP - Magic Points. You spend them to cast spells and perform skills.
Strength - The power of attacks.
Agility - The speed of taking actions in battle.
Resilience - The overall defense and ability to withstand physical attacks.
Wisdom - Resistance to magical attacks.
Style - The value of the characters appeal which is determined by the style
value equipment one is wearing.
Attack - The power of psysical attacks combined with the equipped weapon's
attack value.
Defense - The ability to withstand physical attacks combined with Resilience
value of the equipped armor.
If you switch to your Wagon icon, you'll see the following data:
Casino Tokens - The number of Tokens you've bought or won in the Casino.
Mini Medals - The amount of Mini Medals you've collected.
Gold Carried - The number of Gold you possess at the moment.
Gold Banked - The number of Gold you have deposited in the Gold Bank.
Time Spent Adventuring - Total play time.
• Misc. - this menu allows you to customize different settings in the game.
Heal All - A quick-heal option to heal your party to full HP using everyone's
average MP.
Equip - This menu allows to customize the equipment of your party members.
Line-Up - This option is available on the world map and in some dungeons. It
shows the list of your active party members as well as their spells and skills
to boot.
Tactics - This menu lets you customize how your characters will act in battle.
It's really self-explanatory, you'll be able to make them focus on healing,
conserve MP, protect the Hero, etc.
Organize Items - This option allows you to quickly put all unessential items
in your bag.
Sort Bag - This option lets you sort the items in your bag either by Type or
by Alphabetical Order.
Settings - This menu changes the battle message speed, BGM Volume and Sound
Effects Volume.
Quick Save - This last option lets you suspend and save your game anywhere you
want, even if its a dungeon or world map. This becomes handy in dungeons
before difficult bosses or simply if you don't have a church nearby.
BATTLE MENU
-----------
Dragon Quest VI uses an old-fashioned turn-based battle system. Whenever you
get into a battle, you'll see your enemies shown on the lower screen, and the
stats of your current party shown on the upper screen. During battles, you and
your enemies exchange hits, and your objective is to simply reduce their HP to
0 and kill them. Vice versa, if all the members of your party have their HP
reduced to 0, you'll lose the battle and be brought to the nearest church.
Agility plays a big role in battles. The characters with higher agility rate
will act faster, thus it'll give you many advantages during fighting. At some
points, you may end up killing your opponents before they even have the chance
to act. Once you get into a battle, you'll see a battle menu. It consists of
four main options:
• Fight - This option allows you to start the actual fight. You'll have four
choices here:
Attack - deal physical damage with your currently equipped weapon.
Magic - deal magical damage or cast support magic with the spells, available
to you. Skills can also be performed from this menu.
Items - use items from your character's inventory.
Defend - skip your turn and reduce the damage taken for this turn.
• Party - This option lets you change your party members during battles.
• Tactics - This option allows you to change tactics on one or all allies.
• Flee - Escape from battle.
STATUS AILMENTS
---------------
There are various status ailments in this game. You can get hit by them during
battles. Some of them are nasty, some of them are just plain annoying. Most of
them wear off quickly, and do not require healing. Anyway, here's the list:
• Confuse - Makes a character act weird, and perform random actions. The only
way to heal it is to hit this character and clear his mind.
• Curse - Makes a character lose health after attacking or seal his attacking
abilities. Characters usually get cursed after equipping a certain item, so
unequipping it will solve the problem.
• Dance - Makes a character lose turns in battle and wears off by itself.
• Dazzle - Makes a character miss attacks and wears off by itself.
• Envenom - A more powerful version of the poison status. It is healed with
Antidotal Herbs, Squelch spell or by purufication option in churches.
• Fear - Makes a character lose turns to let enemy flee. Wears off by itself.
• Fizzle - Makes a character unable to use magic. Wears off by itself.
• Paralyse - Makes a character paralysed and unable to act in battle, healed
with Moonwort Bulbs or Tingle spell.
• Poison - Makes a character lose HP every turn. It is healed with Antidotal
Herbs, Squelch spell or by purufication option in churches.
• Sap - Makes character's defense value weaken. You can counter it with a Buff
or Kabuff spells.
• Sleep - Makes a character fall asleep and miss turns. The only way to heal it
is to hit this character and wake him up.
The worst thing that can happen to you in battle is getting KO'ed. Once your
character is dead, you need to revive him. This can be done by going to the
church and using the Resurrection option from the priest or a nun. Later in
the game, you'll be able to find items like Yggdrasil Leaf, that revive your
party members. Use them wisely, as they're pretty rare. You'll also be able to
learn two reviving spells - Zing and Kazing. Zing has a chance of reviving a
character, while Kazing guarantees a resurrection.

IV...........................VARIOUS HINTS AND TIPS......................DQVI4
==============================================================================
• As you travel the world of Dragon Quest VI, search every nook and cranny to
uncover various kinds of hidden valuables. Early in the game, when you don't
possess that much of an amount of money, be sure to check every barrel, pot
or drawer to find Gold and useful items like Medicinal Herbs or Chimaera Wings
all around.
• Save often. Though this game isn't too hard, dying returns you to a nearby
chapel or church with half of your money missing. It would be a good idea to
deposit some of your Gold into the Rainbow's End Gold Bank to play it safe.
This is especially useful late in the game, when you'll start having large
amounts of Gold.
• The best way to pile up money is to abuse Casino in this game.
• Take note of every locked door you come across. You'll be able to get to the
locked treasures later in the game, when you get a special key.
• Don't try to buy everything from the various shops in towns you come across.
I advice you to only buy the most needed and efficient equipment. Take a look
at the stat changes on the upper screen of your DS when you select a piece of
equipment to buy. Remember that some weapons and armors that cost too much can
be found in dungeons later in the game.
• If you somehow forget where to go next or what to do, try the Party Chat
option by pressing the B button. Sometimes it can give you a clue about your
next point of destination.
• If you want to reduce the number of random encounters, keep a couple of
Holy Waters in the bag of your inventory. They last for quite a long time and
drive off the monsters.
• Early in the game, try to not let your characters (other than Hero) die,
cause the only way to revive them is to go to a church, since reviving items
may not be present at time or simply cost too much.
• Talk to every NPC you come across. Sometimes it's kinda hard to figure out
where to go next in this game, so pay attention to everything that townsfolk
say to you.
• The Peep command is pretty useful. Use it on various kinds of equipment to
find out its selling price, possible bonuses and character that can equip it.
• Keep in mind that later in the game, when you'll have lots of different
items, some of them may not go directly into the inventory bag, but rather
into the inventory of one of your characters, since a new item always takes up
the first open slot in characters' inventories. Therefore, if you can't find
a certain item in your bag, search your characters for it!
• Evac and Zoom spells will save you a lot of time full of backtracking.
• If you feel that you can't win the battle, choose the "Flee" command to run
away. It's better to do this timely, as sometimes monsters can block your path
and still attack. And you can't flee from boss battles, of course.
• Take advantage of the stat-increasing/decreasing spells such as Sap, Kasap,
Kabuff, Oomph, etc. This will surely make the battles MUCH easier and faster.
• Don't forget about status ailment-inducing spells. Most of the enemies in
the game (including bosses) have status weaknesses, thus exploiting them in a
correct way gives you flawless victories.
• Later in the game, stick to Multi-hit weapons and skills, for maximum damage
output.
• Take advantage of spells and skills that you learn. Elemental spells may
not always work they way you want them to, cause most enemies have certain
elemental strengths. Skills, on the other hand, cost much less MP (if any) and
are generally more useful.

==============================================================================
PROLOGUE.................................................................WKTH1
==============================================================================
To start a new game, choose "Create a new adventure log" from the main menu.
After doing that, you are prompted to name the main character you will be
playing as. You can call whatever you want (although I heard you can't use
some specific names, since there is still a name filter since Dragon Quest IX)
but I'll be referring to this blue-haired guy as Hero throughout this guide.
Note that I will be mentioning location and boss names in the walkthrough, but
I won't reveal any critical plot points.
After a short conversation, go north and talk to the person with blonde hair
at the edge of the cliff for a lengthy scene. You'll be brought to a castle.
Go north and follow the only path to a big stairway. Continue north to a mist-
filled room for one more scene. After it, the dream sequence ends.

house, proceed southwest and check one of the pots on a carpet for [MEDICINAL
HERB]. Enter the southwest house and pick up [SEED OF RESILIENCE] from the
barrel. Proceed east and check the barrels for [10 GOLD]. Enter the building
to the north (the central one). This is the church, and you can save your
game here. Enter the pub, break the barrels for [3 GOLD]. Head north towards
the Mayor's residence. Check the barrels near his house to find [MEDICINAL
HERB]. Enter the house, break the pot for [ANTIDOTAL HERB]. Talk to the Mayor
Spindell and say "Yes" to his questions. You'll receive [VILLAGE GOODS]. The
shops become available after this event. It would be a good idea to stock up
on a couple of Medicinal Herbs, as you may need them, and probably buy one
Leather Shield to boost your defense a bit. Save your game again and leave
Weaver's Peak via the south exit.

exit south. Proceed west and you'll find an inn in the cave here. You can
rest for 10 G here and restore your health. When you're done, exit the area to

Save the game at the church, and examine the row of barrels to find [5 GOLD]
and [MEDICINAL HERB]. Enter the inn to the right and rest if you need to. Down
the stairs is the Rainbow's End Gold Bank. You'll be seeing its departments in
almost any town from now on. Here you can deposit a certain amount of money so
you won't lose it if you die. A very handy feature, I must say. Enter the hut
in the northeast corner and talk to the girl inside. You should avoid most of
the bargains on the Bazaar, but in order to sell the Village Goods at a good
price, you'll have to run around a bit. There are two brothers on the Bazaar,
Buck and Bill. Try to sell the goods to one of them, and then to another. They
will start to increase the buying price, and I suggest you stop at 480 Gold.
It's the highest amount you can get, so take the money and search for a man
with a white turban on his head in the west part of the Bazaar. He'll offer
to sell you a Thief's Key. Keep saying "No" to him until he lowers the price
to 200 Gold. Now you can safely buy it. Enter the inn and go through the blue
door. Open the drawer to find a [BIG BOOK OF BEASTS]. Now you can leave this
Haggleton town. On the world map, go northwest along the mountains to a large
hole in the ground. Approach a man hanging on a cliff and talk to him. Agree
to pull him up, and you'll end up falling down yourself. After landing, enter
the nearby town.

into the next house and examine the drawer for [PLAIN CLOTHES]. Finally, enter
the northeast houseabd check the drawer to find [PRETTY BETSY], then the pot
to get [MEDICINAL HERB]. Go south, climb down the well and check the drawer
for your first [MINI MEDAL]. Enter the inn and examine the pot for [SEED OF
LIFE]. Exit the town and go northeast into a hut. Peer into the well to get
back to the area near the hole in the ground. Return to Haggleton and go into
the northeast house. Talk to the Crownsmith to obtain the [SPIRIT CROWN]. Now
you can finally head back to Weaver's Peak. After the scene, go back to your
house and take a nap there until nighttime. As the crown offering event ends,
go northeast to witness a scene between Tania and Buddy, then talk to Mayor
in his residence. He'll give you an [ENTRY PASS]. Return to your hut and sleep
until morning. Head to Haggleton again, and from there, move a bit south to
enter Somnia.

Enter the big southwest building, which contains both the inn and the church.
If you go up to the second floor of the church, you'll find a [MEDICINAL HERB]
in the drawer. You can play a Slippin' Slime mini-game near the inn counter.
Exit outside and proceed north. Enter the hut to get [PLAIN CLOTHES] from a
wardrobe. The northwest house has an [ANTIDOTAL HERB] in a pot. Peer into the
well. There's a chest here with [ANTIQUE RING] in it, but it's guarded by a
mini boss. The Grim Grinner enemy is just a version of Leery Lout with a large
number of HP. When you're done, head north across the bridge and talk to the
guard near the castle. Go back to the church and talk to a man speaking with
the priest. Exit the church and you'll hear a bell ringing. Enter the castle
of Somnia after speaking with the guard. Go up the stairs for a scene. Exit
Somnia and go southeast, then south to reach a tower.

Enemies: 005 Batatouille, 009 Stumpkin, 011 Haardvark, 012 Cumaulus,

'----------------------------------------------------------------------------'
Enter the tower and go northeast to the stairs. Be aware that there are spikes
in this room that deal damage to your HP as you walk on them. The two chests
here are empty. On the next floor, head south to a chest with [CHIMAERA WING],
then take the nearby stairway leading up. Go south and walk in a loop to face
a soldier from the north side. Fight a battle with Tower Sentry and defeat
him. You should already have the Sap spell, so use it to make the battle end
faster. Examine the chest to find [130 GOLD] in it. Exit this screen in the
west. Don't talk to the guy near the east edge, cause he'll simply push you
down to the lower level of the tower and you'll have to repeat your path here.
Instead, go into the door and head up the stairs. Step on the southmost tile
pointing west. Then step on the tile pointing east, which is two squares above
the man in this room. Go up the stairs and follow the path outside. Drop down
to the left and talk to the warrior. His name is Carver. Enter the door to
find a large room with three people near the doors. Talk to the soldier to get
the jist of the puzzle. The middle person, the old man, is telling the truth,
as his room only contains spikes, so don't go in there. The right choice is
the northwest door. But don't go in there yet. Take the northeast door and
talk to the man to obtain [GOLD RING]. He'll tell you to return to the castle,
don't do it just yet. Check the drawer for a [MINI MEDAL]. Go back and into
the northwest door. Open the chest with [MEDICINAL HERB], then go further up.
Speak with the soldier at the top and he'll fight you. He has a bit more HP
compared to Tower Sentry, but the strategy is the same. Exchange hits, heal
and defeat him in the end. Go into the door and take the [RESTLESS HEART] from
the chest. If Carver is already in there, you won't get the item then. Exit
this room and once outside use a Chimaera Wing or a Zoom spell (if you have
it already) to return to Somnia. Enter the castle's second floor for a scene.
Go back and take the north door to get outside. Enter the west door and check
the pot to find a [MINI MEDAL]. Exit south and speak with the elderly man
with the wagon. Now you can exit Somnia.
On the world map, head northwest and Carver will stop you and join your party.
He joins at level 3, so consider leveling him up a few levels and probably
buying him some good equipment from Somnia shops. You should have enough Gold
by now. Anyway, from Somnia head northwest, then west along the mountains,
then go a bit north into the woods. You'll spot a wild mustang here. Try to
approach the horse a few times, and it will run away. Then Carver will come up
with an idea. Tame the mustang and choose a name for it. Return to Somnia. Go
to the castle again and speak with the old man beside the wagon. After meeting
the king, you'll be in the throne room. Go west and check the drawer for a
[SILVER TIARA]. Exit Somnia and head northeast to the checkpoint which is now
open. Proceed east to the Forest Chapel. Break the pot to find [HOLY WATER]
and check the drawers for [PRETTY BETSY]. You can rest here for free and save
your game if you want to. From the chapel, walk south and enter the lone hut.
Pick up [ANTIDOTAL HERB] and [HARDWOOD HEADWEAR] inside. Talk to the guy here
and say "No" to him, then "Yes" three times. After a scene showing one of
Carver's numerous talents, talk to the little guy inside the newly-built shed.
Exit this area and go east. Stop at the snady area, surrounded by trees and
press the A button to uncover a passageway. Venture inside it.

[270 GOLD] in the corner. Continue east to reach the end of the tunnel.
On the world map, head southeast to a signpost telling you that the Alltrades
Abbey is a bit to the east. Continue east to find another hole in the ground.
Enter it and go north, then slide down the slope. You'll fall down to the
lower world again. Enter the Abbey right near you. In these ruins, there is
nothing to do right now, although if you go downstairs, you can find a well
that will take you to the upper world again. But we don't need that right now,
so exit the ruins, and go southwest on the world map. You'll come to a town

go southwest into a house, speak with the mayor and search the drawer for a
[BAMBOO SPEAR]. Enter the large building on the canal. You'll find many points
of interest here, including the inn, the shops and the Gold Bank. Check on the
pots near the inn for a [MEDICINAL HERB]. Since you can't use the shops right
now, exit through the east door opposite to the armor shop and inspect the
barrels to find and [IRON CLAW]. Go back and into the kitchen that is above
the inn guy. Break the pot for a [MINI MEDAL] and check the drawer to find a
[PRETTY BETSY]. Go upstairs and you'll find Patty the Party Planner! We can't
use her services right now, but you should take note of this place, as you'll
be coming here in the future. Read the books on the shelves and go back. Exit
the house via south door for a scene. Talk to Johan and say "Yes" to him both
times. Go all the way north and you'll spot a CASINO sign. This is a casino,
a place where you can win lots of Gold without lifting a finger! Since we're
transparent right now, we can't use it, obviously. We'll come back here later.
Enter the house left of the Casino and break the barrels to find a [FUR HOOD].

the Mayor's house and talk to Ella, follow her upstairs and talk to her again.</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">

contains a [SEED OF MAGIC]. Go left and talk to the lady with the crystal ball
for a scene. Answer "Yes" when she asks you to go to Lucid Grotto. She'll also
give you 10 Medicinal Herbs. Milly will join your party as a guest. Exit the
house and try to peer into the well. A mini-boss will ambush you.

Alternatively, you could fight this boss with just Hero and Carver, but we
decided to stay on the safe side and get Milly before fighting it. Well Wisher
usually starts a battle by casting Fear on all of your allies. He also has an
attack where he throws a stone dealing medium damage to all the party members,
and that's about it. He tends to miss turns frequently, too. Since his HP is
so low, you'll take him down in like 3 or 4 turns.
Now that you're done here, exit this place. The Lucid Grotto is to the south,
but you probably should go to Port Haven and save at the church. When done,
return here, and walk south from Madame Luca's. You'll spot a cave out in the

'----------------------------------------------------------------------------'
First of all, you aren't able to control Milly directly right now, and that
means she'll be wasting her MP left and right. But don't fret, since we still
have Hero's MP. Try to save as much of it as you can. Anyway, go southwest and
turn south at the fork to find a chest with [CHIMERA WING]. Back at the fork,
head northwest to the stairway. Go east and turn south at the first fork you
see. Head northwest to a chest with [230 GOLD]. From here, head back east and
into the southeast corner of the floor to find a [SEED OF RESILIENCE] in the
treasure chest. Return west, and turn south near the water puddle. Head south
east to a stairway. In the cavern area, there is a low chance of encountering
a Metal Slime, although I doubt you'll be able to defeat one at this point.
Keep going west all the way to the edge to obtain a [BRONZE KNIFE] from the
chest. Make your way south and turn east at the first intersection to discover
a chest with [FUR CAPE]. Continue going west to the stairway. Heal your party
with the Medicinal Herbs you have and head up to initiate a boss battle.

BOSS: Bloodcreeper
----------------------------------------
HP: 370 MP: 18 EXP: 260 GOLD: 370
----------------------------------------
Drops: Seed of Resilience
'----------------------------------------'
The Bloodcreeper guy can be a bit of pain to kill, since his constant Dazzle
attacks that blind you characters for one turn. He attacks for about 20 HP
damage, which will be higher, if casts Sap beforehand. Don't bother trying to
Sap him, as he'll just use Buff to increase his defense again. Try to focus on
attacking him and healing when needed. He doesn't have too much HP.
Examine the pot to acquire some [DREAM DEW]. Since Milly doesn't have the Evac
spell yet, you'll have to backtrack all the way to the top of Lucid Grotto.
Return to Madama Luca's and talk to her near her house for a scene. Milly will
finally join your party as a full-fledged member. She is still level 5, which
is a shame. Anyway, Zoom to Port Haven and save at the church. Head into the
Mayor's house and talk to him. Answer "Yes" to him twice. Go upstairs and talk
to Johan. Head to the port and buy three tickets for 150 Gold coins. Before
boarding the ferry to Somnia, we still have to do a couple of things here. The
casino is available to you, since you're visible now. I advice you to buy
Dragon Shield and Platinum Mail with the Tokens you win. You'll find a more
detailed description of how the casino works in the Mini-Games section of the
guide. Before playing the casino games, though, I advice you to save your game
at the church, as there is a good chance you'll lose all of the money you have
right now. Winning in the casino requires some luck, as well as some time to
sacrifice. There is a secret boss waiting for you near Wellshire, so let's head
there first. Return to Alltrades Abbey and return to the Dream World via the
well. Zoom to Haggleton and walk west to the hole in the ground. Fall down
again and enter Wellshire. If you have a good amount of money, I suggest you
buy Gold Bracers for everyone. Enter the Chief's house (the northeast one) for
a scene. Talk to the Chief and leave Wellshire. On the world map, go northeast
to a hut. Speak with the man in a helmet and say "Yes" to him. Then refuse to
pay the ransom and you'll initiate a boss battle.
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Bigg & Liddle
--------------------------------------------
HP: 500 & 320 MP: 0 EXP: 825 GOLD: 374
--------------------------------------------
Drops: Boxer Shorts
'--------------------------------------------'
If you already have the equipment from the casino, this battle should be very
easy cause these guys can't really hurt you that much. Liddle tends to cover
Bigg most of the time, so kill him first since he has lower HP. Cast Sap on
them both to make the battle go quicker. I have also noted that they attack
Milly rarely, but you should have probably leveled her up to at least level 8
just to be safe. Other than that, it's a pushover battle that shouldn't take
too much time.
Approach the girl and examine her. During the scene that follows, say "No" to
the Chief to get 5000 Gold coins. If you don't have 7000 Gold, grind a bit to
get the needed sum. Enter the well in this house to get to the upper world.
Zoom to Weaver's Peak and enter the weapon shop. Check the shining armor near
the counter and buy it for 7000 Gold. Equip it on Milly to watch her defense
skyrocket. Return to Wellshire via the hole and Zoom to Port Haven. Go to the
port and talk to the sailor near the ship's deck. Answer "Yes" to him and you
will travel to Cape Somnia.

Three Corpsickles tend to wreck you with Poison and Envenomate status ailments
so be ready to cast Squelch with Milly whenever needed. Envenomate is more

highly advice you to buy Platinum Armor and Dragon Shield from Port Haven's
casino right now, if you don't have them already. Trust me, you'll need them.
If you decide not to, then you will simply have a bigger challenge. Leave
Somnia, and head east, then southeat to the border checkpoint. Save your game
by talking to the priest and continue going east at the world map. Cross the
poisonous swamps and enter the cave.

I suggest you go through this dungeon a couple of times. First, you should
gather all of the items here and gain some levels, then sleep at the inn to
restore HP/MP, save your game and come back here to finally face Murdaw.
Go south and down the stairs. Keep going south, then southwest to the next
area. Head to the west, and enter the northwest cave. Follow the path north
west to the stairway leading down. Go straightly south to a chest with [SEED
OF MAGIC]. Don't bother going southwest, as it's a dead end. Instead, go back
up the stairs and southeast. Back in the large area, head south all the way,
then west and north. Don't forget to grab the [IRON HELMET] from the chest
nearby. Descend the long ladder and go west. Go down another ladder, cross the
bridge, climb down and head northeast to a chest with [MAGIC WATER]. Return to
the ladder and go west. Walk around the corridor and head north. Go through
the large door to arrive in the puzzle room. After the small conversation,
head down the east stairs. Step on both yellow tiles and go back up. Step on
all four yellow tiles on this floor and enter the lower west door. Carefully
navigate through this area to the southeast, picking up [DANCER'S COSTUME] on
your way. Metal Slimes appear on this floor every now and then, so it would
be a good idea to gain a couple of levels for your characters and get Ashlynn
to at least level 10. Also, beware of the Arrghgoyle enemies here, as they can
wipe you out with their Sizzle spells and have very high defense. Anyway, in
the southeast corner you'll see a stairway leading up. Edge around the wall,
stepping on the dark space and go up that stairway. Step on the yellow tile
and go back. Walk back west on this floor and go down the stairs in the north.
Descend one more set of stairs, heal up and get ready to meet Murdaw.

'----------------------------------------'
I hope you've got some good armor on your characters. This battle is like a
walk in the park compared to what you'll face later in the game, but it can
still be challenging at times. First of all, Murdaw has only 900 HP. After
casting Sap on him twice with Hero and Ashlynn, you'll end up dealing a lot
of additional damage. Don't forget to Sap him again, if he uses Buff. Murdaw's
regular attack is nothing to worry about, although his Flame Breath and Sizzle
spells are A LOT more dangerous, as they hit the whole party. Make sure Milly
already has Midheal, as you'll need it, especially if you're using Carver's
Double Up skill. Cast Buff on him, too. Again, this is a quick battle, if you
are dealing more than 100 damage per turn, and heal when needed.
After the scene, cast Evac to get out of here. Zoom to Somnia and go to the
castle. Speak with the Chancellor and rest for the night. Leave this room and
after the conversation with Ashlynn, teleport to Somnia in the Real World.
Talk to the castle guard to start a series of scenes. Go downstairs from the
throne room, and then southwest to meet the king. During the conversation,
answer "Yes", then "No" to learn about the village of Ghent. You'll obtain the
Royal Missive. Exit Somnia and go north to the checkpoint. Keep following the
path northeast to get to the village of Ghent.

the shops and break the pots to find a [SEED OF MAGIC]. Examine the drawer to
discover a [POINTY HAT] in it. Talk to the Elder here and answer "Yes" to him.
Try to leave the house for a scene. After it, enter the shrine and get on the
ship. Talk to Nevan to trigger a scene. He will also join your party at level
10. Once you arrive at the isle of Murdaw, Ashlynn will leave you for a while,
and Nevan will become your fourth party member. He's a much better addition
than Ashlynn, in all ways. You can't leave the isle with the ship right now,
but you can Zoom back to Ghent or any other town, and if you want to return to
the isle, the ship will be docked near Ghent. I advice updating some of the
equipment Nevan has in Ghent, and saving your game at the church. If you're
really underleveled, go and grind some more in the Underkeep, or go into the
cave on the Isle of Murdaw. IIRC, I was at level 18-19 before entering that
place, with only Nevan being at level 15. Take note that I'll be using this
party for the remainder of the game, and write boss strategies according to
this party of characters.

Avoid walking on lava if possible, as it takes away your HP just as those
poisonous swamps do. The fire caverns also contain Metal Slimes, so level up
a bit if you need to. Head west, then northwest to a chest with [1180 GOLD].
Proceed north to another chest. It contains a [FULL PLATE ARMOR]. Go east to
the stairway going up. On the upper floor, take a straight path south to a
chest with a [SEED OF LIFE], then walk west to find [CHAIN WHIP] in a chest.
Take the nearby stairs to return to the previous area and walk east to the
entrance of the dungeon. Take the stairs that are situated a bit northeast
from the entrance. Go up another stairway. Follow the path northwest and open
the chest to fight a Cannibox. Defeat it for a Seed of Agility. Go back to the
junction and proceed east to the next stairway. Walk around the lake, and go
east over the bridge to discover two chests. The northwest one has a [MAGIC
WATER] inside, while the other one is a Cannibox. Defeat it, if you need one
more Seed of Agility. Go back and up the northwest set of stairs, then north
west into the cave. Make a turn using the bridge and continue south to the
previous area. Keep walking east to the stairway leading up. The chest on the
other side of the bridge is another Cannibox. Go all the way north into the
cave opening. Go up the stairs and proceed north. Check the corpse if you want
to, but don't go into that opening just yet. Once you go there, you'll trigger
a series of scenes that will take you to the next dungeon, from which you will
not be able to escape easily (unless you beat the boss), so make sure you've
gained some good levels for Hero, Carver and Milly, and level up Nevan to at
least level 15. You'll need Casino equipment the most right now, as well as
Magic Waters, and possibly some Yggdrasil Leaves. The upcoming boss is very
strong, so if you're unsure about your strength, it's better to grind some
more. Either way, once you're ready, head inside to trigger a scene. You HP
and MP will be restored. Talk to Milly on the hill to be taken to Murdaw's
Keep.

Once you get here, you won't be able to leave the Keep until you defeat the
boss. The only way to exit this place is to die and awaken in Ghent. Talk to
Nevan, and he'll cast a spell so that you'll be able to Zoom here if you do
actually die, so you won't have to go through the caverns again. Go up the
northeast stairway. Open the chests with [AMOR SECO ESSENCE], [1800 GOLD] and
[IRON MASK]. Go back and through the northwest door. Follow the path northwest
for a scene. Carver will obtain the Knuckle Sandwich skill. Go through the
southwest door and examine the two statues at the end of the corridor. You'll
fight two Sculptrice enemies, they're really easy. Go down the stairs, and you
will discover that both doors here are locked at the moment. Return to the
previous floor and take the southeast door this time. Defeat both Sculptrices
and go up the stairs. The pot in the southeast corner is an surprise enemy
called Urnexpected, and it can hit really hard. Defeat the Sculptrices in this
room and take the [FIRE CLAW] from a chest. Go up the stairs in the southwest
and talk to the undead. Defeat the Grim Grinner for some EXP and return to the
main hall. Go up the large stairs to a mist-filled corridor. Carver will warn
you about the upcoming foe, so make sure you're fully healed HP- and MP-wise,
and have some Magic Waters on your characters. Equip Carver with Fire Claw,
and give Staff of Ghent to Hero. Agility Ring can be equipped on Nevan, if he
has the lowest agility. Now's the time to finally face the Dread Fiend!

HP: 500 MP: 90 EXP: 1250 GOLD: 156

'-----------------------------------------'
This first battle isn't too hard. Murdaw comes with two minions called Prickly
Pranksters. Don't bother killing them, as he'll summon new ones. Although you
can try hitting them with a multi-target weapon, so that Murdaw will waste a
turn or two on healing. Have Milly cast Kabuff twice to make a steel out of
your defense. Keep on attacking Murdaw, and don't waste too much MP, as you'll
need it for the next battle. It's best to kill him first and leave the Prickly
Pranksters be, then heal your party and only then finish off the Pransksters.
-----------------------------------------.
BOSS: Real Murdaw
-----------------------------------------
HP: 900 MP: 255 EXP: 2300 GOLD: 770
-----------------------------------------
Drops: Magic Water
'-----------------------------------------'
Murdaw will be alone now, but this time he'll be acting twice per turn during
some turns. He will be dazzling your characters, as well as putting them to
sleep. Well, that's bad. He also has two really damaging attacks that hit the
whole party - Chilly Breath and Lightning. I sure hope your Nevan is ready for
this onslaught. At some points, Murdaw may use those two attacks on the same
turn, and that's a grave situation. Never let Nevan die, cause he has the Zing
spell that may help when somebody else dies. I suggest taking an Yggdrasil
Leaf or two. Using Double Up with Carver is out of the question, and that's
why I told you to equip him with the Fire Claw. Use it as an item on Murdaw to
deal an average of 85 HP damage per hit. Milly and Nevan have Midheal, and the
Hero should be using Staff of Ghent whenever needed. If you'll start running
out of MP, use Magic Waters on your healers. Good luck.
I hope you didn't think this was the end? This is only the beginning of the
long journey that awaits you. Some scenes will follow. You'll obtain the
[LIGHTNING STAFF]. Leave Somnia and Zoom to Madame Luca's. Talk to her for a
scene. After sleeping, talk to her again to learn something about the Abbey.
If you want, you can go to Haggleton, as the Bazaar offers some new goods.
Zoom to Abbey ruins and peer into the well there. Enter the abbey that is now
situated on the spot where the hole was.

off your characters. Don't leave Carver with little HP, if he's using Double

Bronson is a pushover, his moves consist of Flame Slash and Flying Knee hits
that will probably barely even scratch you if you're Kabuff'ed. He has 1300 HP
so Carver's Double Up will come in handy to make the battle end faster.
Talk to the guy at the stairs and go up. Enter the first east door and descend

These two guys are basically the same as Bronson, although Brick can cast
Kasap on your party. I advice you to counter it with Kabuff, or else Brock's
attacks may inflict some serious damage on your party. Take out Brick first,
as he's the damage user and knows spells like Oopmh, and what's even more
annoying, Multiheal. Brock is a tank, and has moves like Mercurial Thrust. He
can also defend himself or Brick during some turns.
Go through the door and talk to the king. Answer "Yes" to him. Go up the north
stairs and check the drawer for [SILK ROBE]. Return to the previous room and
talk to Commander Brutus for a scene. Exit the throne room and go southwest
to the stairway leading down. Break the pot for a [MINI MEDAL], heal up and

Brutus is a badass, but nothing serious. He has a wide array of skills that
include Falcon Slash, Roundhouse Kick, Multislice, but only Vacuum Vortex can
seriously hurt you. Counter his Kasap with Kabuff or you might lose a party
member, if you're unattentive. Carver's skills should be enough to beat this
guy.
Back in throne room, talk to the king, then to the chancelor and a... coffin
will join you. Save your game and exit Arkbolt. Go northwest on the world map

pretty expensive price of 180 Gold coins. You should proably do it in the town
we're going to visit very soon. Anyway, when you're done, head southwest to
the exit. Enter the nearby desert town.

As you navigate this town, talk to EVERYONE you come across. Enter the south
east building. Check the cupboard for [WAYFARER'S CLOTHES]. Exit the house and
save at the church to the southwest. Enter the west house and break the pots
for [HOLY WATER]. There is a [MINI MEDAL] in one of the pots in the northwest
house. Finally, go into the large building. The first floor has an inn, and
there's a weapon shop on the roof. If you did talk to everyone, the night will
fall on the town.
Exit Aridea and go west. Enter the floating island. Talk to the man, then talk
to the crewman. If you're ready to go, say "Yes". Speak to everyone on the
island to hear some weird responses from certain people. Talk to the bartender
and choose to get a drink, then rest. After the scene, a boss will attack you.
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Jamirus
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1500 MP: 0 EXP: 1050 GOLD: 430
--------------------------------------------
Item: Fire Claw
'--------------------------------------------'
For a Dread Fiend, Jamirus isn't too much of a threat. He mostly uses some
mighty fire-based moves such as Fiecre Fire to hit all party members, or uses
a Fire Claw on someone. With Staff of Ghent on Hero, and healing spells of
Milly and Nevan, you have more than enough to keep up with his attacks, and
deal damage to him, too. Of course, use Kabuff twice to increase you defense.
Sap works on Jamirus, so do it twice to increase the damage output even more.
After the scene, return to the island and talk to the old man. At the bar,
check the west barrel for a [MINI MEDAL] and talk to the man in white turban
to rest. The island is in your possession now! It is controlled similarly to
the ship you have in the Real World. Get on your island, and sail west to see
a little island with a hut on it. Enter it and talk to the old man inside to
learn about the legendary equipment. The pots contain a [MINI MEDAL]. From
here, sail east and south through the small peninsula. Sail southeast to the
continent that is to the south of Alltrades Abbey. In the center of this large
continent you'll find a well. Enter it, but be sure to heal up every now and
then, as the enemies here are pretty tough. Go east, down the stairs, and east
to a chest with a [MINI MEDAL]. Go further east, then north to a chest with
[3700 GOLD]. Talk to the guy in the west and exit this place. On the world map
go west, then northeast to a hut. Enter it, break the pot for a [MINI MEDAL]
and talk to a man to learn about the well south of Amor. Get back to your lil'
island and sail southwest, then south into a narrow river. Disembark at the
beach near a cave and enter it. Talk to the man and remember the directions he
told you. Check the area near the graves for a [MINI MEDAL] and a [MEDICINAL
HERB]. Zoom to Haggleton and head northwest to the place where the hole was.

In the dungeon, Howard will run away again. Go to Howsworth yet again. Enter
the northwest house through the left door to find him. Talk to Howard and say
"Yes" twice and he'll join you again. Return to Hallowed Hallow.
Go north and down the stairs. Take the path northwest to face a boss.
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: First Test
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1000 MP: 255 EXP: 550 GOLD: 220
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Agility
'--------------------------------------------'
The First Test is an easy battle, since he can only confuse your party members
with Fuddle Dance or cast Sizz to deal fire damage. You can cast Sap on him,
but it decreases his defense by only a little bit.
Go back southeast and then north to a chest near which Howie is standing. Talk
to him to have him join you again. Open the chest to find a [CHAIN WHIP]. Go
northwest again, then east to the door. It will open to Howie, so go down the
stairs. Go west, then northwest to a chest with a [MINI MEDAL]. Then head to
the northeast to face the second boss.
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Second Test
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1500 MP: 0 EXP: 750 GOLD: 380
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Strength
'--------------------------------------------'
Do not cast any spells on the Second Test, cause he has Bounce right from the
very start of the battle, and will reflect those spells. He has more HP than
the first boss, and more defense. Good ol' Double Up by Carver will help a lot
in this battle, as well as Fire Claw, etc. If Bounce wears off, you can try to
hit him with some elemental spells or cast Sap to speed up the battle.
Go back south and then move northeast to return Howard in your party again. Go
through the northeast door and down the stairs. Head south to spot a number of
three chests. The left one is a Cannibox, the middle one contains a [MINI
MEDAL], and right one has [IRON CUIRASS] in it. Heal up,and proceed north to
face the last boss of this dungeon.
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Third Test
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1300 MP: 255 EXP: 1250 GOLD: 680
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Wisdom
'--------------------------------------------'
This is the most annoying enemy out of the three (which isn't surprising...),
as it acts twice per turn and casts Kasap EVERY turn. It also has some pretty
damaging attacks, so Milly will be only Kabuffing your party in this battle.
Have Nevan heal anyone who's severely damaged with Midheal/Fullheal, and Hero
along with Carver should attack. Lightning attack is the nastiest, so if you
need to, help Nevan with Hero by using Staff of Ghent. It can also cast a
Bound spell on itself to reflect all magical attacks, so using Sap is a no-no
in this situation. The boss doesn't have that much of HP, so keep on hitting
it away, and eventually you'll win.
Enter the door that the monster was guarding for a scene. After it, talk to
Howard and cast Evac to get out of here. Back in Howcastle, go to the throne
room for a scene. After it, talk to the king again to receive a [MAGIC KEY].
You can open those red doors with it. Let's put it to use right away. Go down
the stairs from the throne room, the down the northwest stairs. Ascend the
northwest stairs to Howie's room. Go south through the red door and talk to
the slime knight here. Answer "Yes" to him twice and he'll join your party.
That's the first monster recruit for you! Goowain comes at level 1, so you'll
have to level him up quite a bit. Check the sparkling spot on the ground
nearby to get a [MINI MEDAL].
Zoom to Arkbolt, and go north, then up the stairs to the second floor. Exit
this room to the south, and go down the northeast stairway. Enter the red door
here and open the chest for a [POISON NEDLE]. Break the pot for a [MINI MEDAL]
and leave Arkbolt. Zoom to Howcastle. Go southwest and over the bridge to a
white shrine. Enter it, and go through the red door. Defeat the Scarewell in
the well and peer into it. In the Dream World, go southeast to Clearvale.

Go west and use the Pickaxe on the rocks. Open the chest with a [MINI MEDAL].
Go back and jump all the way down to the foot of the mountain. Go up the right

At the start of the battle, he can cast Bound on himself to reflect magical

useless since he's immune to it. Spiegel is pretty weak, but once you take
enough of his HP, he'll start summoning the Low Djinks enemies that have tons
of HP and can hit hard. All in all, they're annoying. Spiegel can also cast a
Frizzle spell on someone from your party, or even cast the dangerous Kasizzle
spell that may seriously damage your party. Be sure to heal in time whenever
that happens, and use Staff of Ghent, if things get too bad. Carver's Double
Up helps here, as usual.

into the sea cave and you'll see Rod and Unda. Answer "Yes" when prompted. You
do remember that coral reef north of Port Haven? Take Unda there. Sail into
the reef for a scene. You'll receive the [LORELEI'S HARP]! You are now able to
sail your ship underwater! Simply use the Harp when you're in the ocean, and
you'll dive.
Sail northwest from Pescado, and you'll see that the water path between those
two continents is blocked by some water rocks. Use the Harp and dive here to
uncover an underwater path northwest. Sail north, then east and you'll see a
shrine here (it's west of Amor Cave and Amor). Enter it, and peer into the
well. In the Dream World, go southeast to another shrine. Step on the yellow
tile inside, and the nearby floodgate will open. Zoom to Spiegelspire and fly
northwest, then west through the opened floodgate to Slimopolis.

This is the place where you can put your recruited Slimes in battle. There are
8 ranks to conquer, and some fabulous prizes to get. Anyway, more will be
explained in the Mini-Games section of the guide. As you enter Slimopolis, you
will see that there's an inn to the left of the entrance and Patty the Party
Planner to the right. You can find a Slippin' Slime machine in the northeast
corner. Go to the northwest corner and open the cupboards for a [MINI MEDAL]
and [SLIME GOONIFORM]. Dscend whichever stairway you want, and you'll see the
arena room. You can talk to the man at the east counter to start participating
in arena battles, but remember, it's for Slimes only.
In the Real World, sail southeast from Pescado into a big round water area,
surrounded by islands. In the center of this area, dive underwater and you'll
see a palace here, so enter it.

[MINI MEDAL]. Fron here, head east to the northeast corner, and go down south

chest with [PRETTY BETSY]. Exit and go further east to another room. Open the
chest for a [MAGICAL SKIRT]. Go back and move northeast till the end, then go
south and west to a room. The chest here is a Mimic, so defeat it for a Seed

going down the southwest stairs, head east to a chest with a [PINK PEARL]. Now
go down those stairs. Head south and east to the southeast corner. Continue
north and west to the stairway leading up. Go up one more stairway and walk
south to step on a yellow tile to drain the water before you. If you have used
up most of you MP by now, it would be a good idea to exit the Seabead Shrine
for now and rest at an inn somewhere. Back here, go into the lower door and
check the sparkle in the northeast corner to find a [MINI MEDAL]. Go down the
stairs and then south to step on a tile. Go back north, then west. Continue to
the southwest corner and step on the tile there. Go back north and east. Take
the [SAND URN] from the chest and step on the tile northwest of it. Go north

Item: Gracos's Trident
'--------------------------------------------'
Gracos is the third Dread Fiend. And he ain't easy, although he might seem
easy at the beginning of the battle. First off, he has high attack and defense
stats, and Sap doesn't work on him, so it means you're in for a long battle. I
suggest using a Fire Claw on him for some good damage. I had two Fire Claws at</pre><pre id="faqspan-4">
this point (I got one from Jamirus), so I gave them to Hero and Carver and let
them do the beating. Milly and Nevan should heal. Gracos starts the battle
with moderate physical attacks, but as the battle goes on, he starts using
Chilly Breath every now and then. Thank God he acts only once per turn. He can
mow down the party with his trident, or use the dangerous Kacrackle attack to
hit all of your characters for serious damage. If you're feeling that Milly
and Nevan's spells aren't enough, help them out with Staff of Ghent on Hero.
Gracos's HP is pretty high, but eventually you'll be able to defeat him. Just
remember to take some Magic Waters with you in case your MP gets really low.
After the scene, cast Evac to escape the Shrine. Ok, now we have unlocked a
new village in the Dream World, but we still haven't explored the undersea, so
I suggest doing that right now.

Zoom to Pescado and sail north a bit. Dive underwater and you'll spot a sunken
ship. Enter it, and break the barrels for a [MINI MEDAL] and [SEED OF AGILITY]
and go inside the ship. Down the stairs, head to the northeast corner and open
two chests with [GLASS SLIPPERS] and an [ULTIMATE KEY]. Yes, this key opens
all those cell doors you've been wanting to open. We'll be going after them a
bit later, though. Go into the northwest corner and open the cupboard for some
[HEAVY ARMOR] and check the bookshelf to find a dreamscape. Zoom to Ghent and
sail to the south of Isle of Murdaw, then dive. You'll discover an underwater
palace. Enter it, and talk to Rubiss inside. Zoom back to Ghent, and dive near
this town. Enter the cave. This is where you can rename your party members. On
the continent south of Alltrades Abbey, there's a town called Turnscote. You
can't enter it yet, so sail south from it into another round water area and
dive. Enter the palace and go all the way down the staircases to a room. Head
through the door because you possess the Ultimate Key now, and examine those
treasure chests to find [SILVER PLATTER], [KERPLUNK BRACER], [MINI MEDAL] and
[WATERMAUL WAND]. Exit the room and go west. Talk to King Poseidon to learn a
few hints about the legendary equipment. Go west and up the staircase. Examine
the bookshelf to find a dreamscape and check the cupboard for a [MINI MEDAL].
Leave this place and go back to the surface. Zoom to Clearvale and go south to
your ship. Sail west and north into the river. Since the bridge is in your way
here, dive and sail northeast to find a shrine. Dismbark inside and read the
journal in corpse's hand. Check the sparkling spot for a [SEED OF MAGIC]. Go
back to the surface and Zoom to Fashion Forge. Dive to the north of it to find
an underwater inn. Talk to the seaslime in the east and answer "Yes". Check
the sparkling spot to the northeast to find a [MINI MEDAL]. The inn cost here
is just 80 Gold coins. Back at the surface, Zoom to Howcastle and get on your
ship. Sail south and dive just west of Hallowed Hollow. Go inside the shrine.
Talk to the lady to learn about Sorceria, a place we're about to visit soon.
Break the pot to find a [POISON NEEDLE]. Check the bookshelf for a dreamscape
and escape this place. Zoom back to Fashion Forge and dive. Sail south and go
back to the surface to appear at the south side of the Forge. Sail west and
dive near the west edge of the southwest continent. There's an underwater
shrine here, but nothing interesting is inside. Return to the surface and Zoom
to Wellshire. Get on the ship and sail to the south side of this continent.
Dive here and you'll find a narrow path leading north. If you go up to the
surface in this spot, it'll lead you to Chateau de Sass, a place where the
Best-Dressed Contest takes place. We'll need to come back here later, and for
now sail directly south from Chateau de Sass until you find a shrine. Talk to
the old guy inside and check the sparkle to find a [MINI MEDAL]. Go back to
the surface and Zoom to Wellshire. Do you still remember that well in Somnia
and the underground path there? Time to finally explore that place. From the
Wellshire place, sail south and into the river going east all the way to the
city of Somnia. Dive near Somnia and enter the cave.

There's an island south of Slimopolis, so go inside the shrine there to find

This is the place where you can take part in the Best-Dressed Contest. Sadly,
we absolutely have to do it, because we need a certain item to progress the
story. As you enter, talk to Sass in the northwest corner. You will spot a
familiar Slippin' Slime machine in the northeast corner, near the bar. Go down
the central stairway, and talk to the man there. Now pay attention: if you say
"Yes" to him, you'll take part in the contest right away, and if you say "No",
you'll need to watch a contest. I suggest picking "Yes" option to take part in
the contest. Don't worry, we have enough time to prepare. If you picked "No",
then you'll need to take the seat to the left of the runway. Go into the north
east door and check the cupboards for a [HAIRBAND] and a [MINI MEDAL]. Go into
the northwest door and check the cupboards for [SLIME EARRINGS] and a [PRETTY
BETSY]. Now listen up. To win in a style contest, you'll need to increase your
Style stat as much as possible. There are eight levels of contests, but we
only need to win in level 1, 2 and 3. To do that, I suggest picking a male
character (I advice you to pick Hero) and maxing out his Style attribute. You
need to equip certain pieces of equipment to increase his Style. Since Hero
has a pretty good base Style value, equip him with various items and keep an
eye on how his Style value changes. You need to achieve a Style value of 220
or higher to win in all 3 contests. Zoom to Fashion Forge and forge certain
parts of equipmnet to increase your style even more. I had a Style value of
246 and easily won in level 1, 2 and 3 contests. For level 1 victory, you'll
get a Silver Platter, for level 2 victory you'll get a Trailblazing Bandana,
and level 3 victory nets you a [PLUSH RUG]. Just what we were looking for. To
start the contest, simply go into the northeast or northwest door, and talk
to the dude in a tuxedo. Good luck!
Once you have the Plush Rug, Zoom to Sorceria in the Dream World and talk to
the old guy in the westmost house there. You'll obtain the [FLYING CARPET]! It
can be used in both worlds, too! At first, it may seem that it's just another
Flying Bed, but the Flying Carpet has some differences. You'll find out which
soon. Zoom to Pescado and get on your ship. Dive right away and sail south to
the west side of the southwest continent of the Real World. Surface and dock
somewhere. If you open your map with the Y button, you'll see castle ruins,
surrounded by mountains. There's also a lake next to it. Take out your Flying
Carpet and fly over the lake. I bet you couldn't do that with the Flying Bed.
Enter the castle ruins.

here and open the cupboard to find a [MINI MEDAL]. You cna sace at the church
by examining the adventure log near the frozen nun. Exit Mt Snowhere and go to
the northeast shrine. Slide to the center of this area and speak with the girl
there. Return to Mt Snowhere and go into the northeast house again. Go down
the stairs for a scene. Talk to the old man and exit Mt Snowhere. Go to that
shrine again and talk to the girl again. Answer "Yes" during the conversation.
After the scene, return to Mt Snowhere. Enter the northeast house and talk to
Colburn. Answer "Yes" when prompted and leave the place. Enter the church and
talk to the man in the east room. Say "Yes" to him and take note of the hints
he gives you. When you're done, exit the village and proceed to the grotto in
the north.

Go north and slide to the door. Examine it and answer "Yes". Then you'll have
to say three phrases in order to open the door. They are:
1. "I come possessing a heart of truth."
2. "The blade that bears untold power..."
3. "Unleash it from the icy depths!"
The door will open, so go through it. Slide north, east, north, west, south,
west, north, east, south, east, north and go down the stairway. Head northeast
and down the stairs. Go south for a chest with a [MINI MEDAL]. Head back up
and north to a chest containing [1900 GOLD]. Backtrack southwest and go north
over the ice floor to the stairway. Descend it and go up the next stairway to
the north. In the puzzle room, you'll need to step on north, then west, then
east, and then south tile without stepping on the same ice tile twice. It's
really easy, simply moving near the edges of the room and don't be afraid to
fall down when if you've stepped on all four tiles. When you come back here,
the door will remain opened. Go north to the last area and approach the sword
for a scene. Examine the sword to obtain a [RUSTED SWORD]. Cast Evac and go
back to Mt Snowhere.
Go into the church and talk to Ali Kazam. You'll receive the item [TURNSCOTE

With the Turnscote Pendant, you're free to enter the town. Go into the house
with the CASINO sign on it. Down the stairway is the Turnscote casino. Proceed
behind the counter and pay 100 Gold coins to enter the so-called Bunny Theatre
and go down one of the stairways in the north. Open the drawers to get [PRETTY
BETSY] and [FISHNET STOCKINGS]. Go back and exit this place via the southeast
door. Peer into the well and enter the house. Check the cupboard to acquire a
[THIEF'S KEY]. The well beside this house contains nothing, except a Scarewell
monster. Go back to Turnscote and enter the building east of the casino via
the side door. Talk to the bunny girl and your party leader's Style value will
increase by 5 points. Note that you can only do this once. Open the two chests
behind the magic door that contains a [SEED OF WISDOM] and a [SEED OF LIFE].
Talk to the man near the northeast house and he'll lead you to a weapon shop.
Go to the northwest corner of the town and check the drawer for a [MINI MEDAL]
inside. Check the bookshelf to find a dreamscape. Enter the northwest house
from the west side and break the barrels for a [MINI MEDAL]. Go to the south
east edge of Turnscote and enter the southeast building. You'll find a Gold
Bank inside, so exit this place to the west to find chests with a [SEED OF
WISDOM] and [2500 GOLD]. Go into the house east of the casino building and go
to the roof. Talk to Mo the Mole and answer "Yes". Talk to Mo near the bar and
agree to his little hide-and-seek game. Go to the church and speak with the
priest to uncover Mo. His second hiding place is in the Bunny Theatre. Go down
the stairs and talk to the bunny girl to uncover him. Go to the pub and talk
to the bartender. Answer "No" twice, then "Yes" to uncover Mo for the third
time. Don't leave the bar yet, and talk to the two men from across the counter
here. After listening to their conversation, exit the pub, and go to Mo's crib
that is inside the well in the center of Turnscote. Pay up 2000 Gold coin and
listen to what he says. Exit Turnscote and go to the shrine in the north.
Examine the sparkle near one of the graves to find a [MINI MEDAL] and approach
Welda for a scene. Talk to her and answer "Yes" twice. Back in Turnscote, go
into Welda's house (the northeast one) and head down the stairs. Talk to Welda
and answer "Yes" when prompted. When she looks in your eyes, don't press any
buttons. While she's working on your sword, let's look for the final piece of
the legendary equipment. Zoom to Wellshire, and sail east in your ship. Dock

the conversation, return to Weaver's Peak again. Enter the southwest house and
fight the monsters there. Defeat the monster at the second floor of the pub
and in the house right next to it. Kill the monster near the well and go east.
Defeat the monsters near the weapon shop and inside the shop. Enter Mayor's
residence and defeat both monsters there. Go near Tania's house and kill the
monster who's attacking Buddy. Return to the church and the priest will heal
your HP and MP. Enter Tania's house and talk to the monster. Answer "Yes"
twice and you'll fight the stronger version of the boss. Talk to Hero and you
will fight the weaker version of the boss. I chose to fight the stronger boss,
of course.

He attacks twice per turn, and almost always uses multi-hit skills and spells.
Be ready to Kabuff your party with Milly, because the demon likes to use Kasap
frequently. Sometimes he uses spells like Kacrackle and Kasizzle in one turn,
so it's gonna hurt. Heal away with Multiheal and Fullheal if you need to. His
defense is also insane, and since you don't have weapons like Sword of Ramias
yet, you'll have to make do with the Miracle Sword or any other good weapon
you have. Kabuff is essential here. Milly and Nevan should heal, since they
are not able to deal any significant damage to the demon. Carver can have the
Staff of Ghent to help them out if needed. The weaker version of this boss has
about 400 HP and 50 MP. You'll still get the same rewards for defeating him.
During th conversation, answer "Yes". You'll learn the Zap spell for Hero.
Zoom to Somnia and enter the town for a scene. Answer "Yes", then "No". At
night, go down the stairs and west. Step into the shining light. After the
scene, exit south and step into another light. Go southeast and step into the
light on the opposite bridge. Go down the stairs to the first floor and then
north into the door to find another shining light. Proceed into both northwest
and northeast doors and step into the lights there. Return to the throne room
and step into the light there. In the morning, you'll eventually obtain the
[HELM OF SEBATH]. Zoom to Turnscote and enter the northeast house. Go down the
stairs and talk to Welda. You'll obtain the [SWORD OF RAMIAS]. There, now we
have all four pieces of the legendary equipment.
Before moving on with the story, let's visit that underwater location that we
ignored earlier. You should be at least level 33 by now, and since you have
legendary equipment (I suggest putting it on your Hero), you have a chance of
winning right now. Zoom to Scrimsley, and run north to your ship. Dive and
sail northeast until you see an underwater palace. Enter it.

This area is pretty small and straightforward. You'll see two pairs of chests
to your left and to your right. All of these chests are guarded by some tough
enemies. Let's start off with the easier ones. Go left and talk to the guards,
then answer "Yes". You'll fight a Dragooner and an Uberkilling Machine. This
is basically a fight where only your physical attack/defense matter, since
both enemies rely only on physical attacks. Kabuff is essential here. Focus on
Dragooner at first, then kill off the Uberkilling Machine. It acts twice per
turn and has some really damaging moves, so heal EVERY single turn. After the
victory, enter the cell and open two chests with a [MINI MEDAL] and [TEMPEST
SHIELD]. Now heal up, and go to the right corner of this place and get ready
for even more serious and difficult battle. This time you're up against two
Uberkilling Machines. Remember, they act twice per turn, so you'll have to
heal VERY quickly and don't forget about Kabuff, as it'll greatly reduce the
damage you receive. Upon defeating the enemies, go into the cell and open two
chests with a [MINI MEDAL] and [GRINGHAM WHIP]. We're done here, so Zoom to
Turnscote. From Turnscote, sail northwest and then southwest into a river. You
will find an island with a well here. Peer into the well to find some shops
inside.

Of course, you could enter this place earlier in the game (and you probably
already did, eh?), but apart from certain items, all of the equipment here
sucks, to be honest. I would suggest buying a Thinking Cap from the armor shop
and Flametang Boomerang/Fire Blade from the weapon shop. Flametang Boomerang
is good enough to hit multiple enemies when you're fighting random enemies,
and the Fire Blade is a good weapon for Nevan. Examine the sparkle in the
northeast corner to find a [MINI MEDAL].
If you already have all four pieces of equipment, let's proceed with the main
story, shall we? If you Zoom to Felonia, you can sail northwest from it and
you will see a shrine in the mountains. Alternatively, you could get here by
using the hole in the southeast part of the Dream World (you'll need a Flying
Carpet to get to the hole), but I decided to do the it via the Real World.
Anyway, enter the shrine and you'll see a round inscription in the middle, and
four signs along with the switches, too. Triggering a certain combination of
the signs will throw into a boss battle, so make sure your party's HP and MP
is full. If you've ever used the Peep command on the legendary equipment, you
will know which signs to trigger. To ease things for you, I'll just tell you </pre><pre id="faqspan-5">
how to solve this puzzle right away. The north sign should represent the Sun
(Helm), the south sign should represent the Heart (Armor), the west sign needs
to represent the Lightning Bolt (Sword), and the east sign should represent
the Clashing Swords (Shield). If you did everything right, a boss will attack
you.

HP: 3000 MP: 255 EXP: 2200 GOLD: 0

'--------------------------------------------'
Ok, this boss can be a pain in the ass if you act careless. First of all, the
castle has a quite a lot of HP, but its defense is not that high, so Hero and
Carver should feel comfortable in dealing damage to it. With Sword of Ramias
and Miracle Sword, it shouldn't be hard. Don't bother wil magical attacks, as
the Citadel will most likely cast Magic Barrier on itself. Instead, cast Oomph
on Hero and Carver (if you have this spell already) and let them go wild. Heal
when needed, as most of Citadel's attacks hit the whole party - in fact, the
Kaswoosh spell and most importantly, Vacuum Vortex, can be quite damaging. The
trample attack is very weak, so don't worry about it. Soon enough the Citadel
will fall.
After defeating the Citadel, you'll get inside.

some at the casino). Go east and through the southeast door. On the outside,
head up the staircase and into the east door. Listen to the conversation in
the library and exit. Enter the far north door. Head up the stairway for a
scene. You'll fight a quick battle against an Uberkilling Machine and an Iron
Tortoise. You should be familiar with how dangerous those Uberkilling Machines
are, so take it out first and leave the Tortoise for later as it's pretty weak
and all that. After that, you'll fight a familiar face.

BOSS: Terry
--------------------------------------------
HP: 2500 MP: 50 EXP: 1300 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Stylish Bandana
'--------------------------------------------'
Despite having a really wide array of attacks, Terry is mostly harmless. You
should counter his Kasap with Kabuff to up your defese. Having fire-protective
armor on your characters will help in bringing his Flame Slash damage to the
minimum. His Falcon Slash and Gust Slash attacks are equally weak, if you have
some good armor, but his Sunderbolt Blade attack that hits the whole party can
be quite damaging. Apply Multiheal or Omniheal immediately. Since Terry does
have a medium defense value, the battle should end rather quickly.
Your HP/MP will be restored after this battle, and you'll fight the next boss.
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Dhuran
--------------------------------------------
HP: 3000 MP: 255 EXP: 5500 GOLD: 2300
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Strength
'--------------------------------------------'
Being the fourth Dread Fiend, Dhuran is a noble warrior. With proper leveling
and skills, he's not that hard, actually. Despite the fact that he likes using
Disruptive Wave frequently to eliminate all positive effects on your party, I
would suggest casting Kabuff again and again to reduce the damage. His Wind
Sickles attack can hit quite hard, if you have low defense. Don't bother using
magic spells on him, since he uses Bound also. Weapons like Sword of Ramnias,
Miracle Sword or Falcon Blade do the most damage, so use them as you see fit.
All in all, it's not a hard battle.
During the scene, answer "No" and Terry will eventually join your party. Exit
the Citadel for another scene. Before going to the Cloudsgate Castle, put
Terry in your active party and Zoom to Arkbolt. Head to the second floor of
the castle, then south to the exterior. Go down the southeast stairs and talk
to the hacksaurus in the cell. Answer "Yes" and Lizzie will join your party at
level 5. Zoom to the Dream World, then Zoom to Clearvale and walk south to the
floating island. Hop onto it and sail east to the southeast continent. Dock at
the beach and you'll come to a shrine surrounded by steep forests. Inside the
shrine you can heal your HP/MP for free. Go northwest to the castle.

If you want to enter the pub, you'll have to pay a 200 Gold coins entry fee.
After a little scene, break the barrel for [600 GOLD]. To leave, you'll have
to pay 1200 Gold coins. If you have less money than that, they'll just kick
you out. Enter the house above the armor shop and break the pot for a [PRETTY
BETSY]. Go northeast and examine the sparkle at the graveyard to find a [SEED
OF LIFE]. The casino building has an inn, a Gold Bank and a Slippin' Slime
machine on the first floor. The second floor has a church. Go into the house
above the weapon shop and check the bookshelves for a dreamscape. There's also
a [MINI MEDAL] at the left side outside the house. Enter the northeast mansion
and break the pots in the kitchen for a [KAMIKAZEE BRACER]. Go up the stairs
to the second floor. Both chests here are Mimics, but at least you'll get two
Seeds of Life for defeating them. Exit the mansion and enter the gold mine to
the northwest. Turn east at the fork. Follow the path to the southeast corner
to find a chest with a [SEED OF STRENGTH]. Back at the entrance, head north
all the way and turn east at the fork, then south at the next one and go down
the stairs. The chest near the stairs is a Mimic. Turn north at the fork and
follow the path northeast and then south to the next stairway leading down.
Head to the chest and read the note inside. Cast Evac and enter the northeast
mansion. Talk to Gainmore at the second floor and pay 5000 Gold coins if you
want to hear his tip. Although, if you don't have enough money, you can ignore
his demand for Gold and simply continue on with the story. Leave Greedmore
Valley and head west to the forest. Talk to the man standing to the northwest
of the water-filled hole and answer "Yes" for a scene. Descend to the chest
and talk to everyone, then the demons at the west side. Finally, speak with
the man standing next to the chest.

BOSS: Averill
--------------------------------------------
HP: 2000 MP: 0 EXP: 0 GOLD: 0

Item: Medicinal Herb
'--------------------------------------------'
Averill is pathetically easy, since his attacks are pretty weak. He can use
Leg Sweep or a Slam attack, but that's about it. Cast Sap on him a couple of
times to kill him even faster.
The scene will repeat. Talk to the man to drain the water again, but this time
go down the east set of staircases and open the chest for a scene. Inspect the
chest again to uncover a hidden stairway. Descend it and go north. Turn west
at the fork to find a chest with a [SILVER SHIELD]. Continue north to the next
stairway. On the Dread Realm map, go west to a well. An old guy here will heal
your HP/MP for free, and the priest can save your game. Before going to Gallow
Moor, return to Greedmore Valley and enter the house above the weapon shop.
Talk to the man and examine the armor to acquire the [DRAGON ROBE]! Now you
can return to that well again. Go northeast from it and enter the castle.

BOSS: Gallows Giant
--------------------------------------------
HP: 2800 MP: 0 EXP: 6300 GOLD: 580
--------------------------------------------
Item: Mini Medal
'--------------------------------------------'
Gallows Giant is a regular boss monster until he uses a spell that neutralises
your magic. You won't be able to cast ANY spells during this period of battle,
so I advice you to any healing items you have in your inventory. Gallows Giant
has also a Lightning attack, which isn't too dangerous, but his Desperate
Attack can deal a big amount of damage to a single character. I suggest using
your mightiest skills right from the start, and by doing that you'll be able
to kill him quicker, and possibly before he seals your magic spells.
Proceed north and talk to the other giant. You'll obtain the [JAILOR'S KEY].
Go inside the castle for a scene. From your cell, head north across the floor
with electrification and down the stairway. Talk to Captain Blade to receive
the [GUARD'S GARB]. Break the pots for a [MINI MEDAL] and go back. Use the
Guard's Garb to change into guard uniforms. Head south and talk to everyone
you come across, especially the guards. On the next floor, break the barrels
for a [CHAIN SICKLE]. Enter the southwest room and break the pots for a [SEED
OF AGILITY]. Go northwest and talk to the woman at the graveyard. Check the
sparkling spot for a [SEED OF LIFE]. Enter the southeast building and break
the barrels for a [MINI MEDAL]. Check the bookshelves to find a dreamscape.
Talk to everyone here and leave. Go through the north cell door. Go up the
stairway to get to the entrance of Gallows Moor. Check the cupboards in the
east for a [SEED OF MAGIC]. Go up the central stairway and exit southeast. Go
west and down the stairs. Open three chests with a [MINI MEDAL], [4800 GOLD]
and [RUINOUS SHIELD]. Head back and up the west staircase. Enter the tower in
the east head to the top. Talk to the guard and check the sparkle for a [MINI
MEDAL]. Talk to the captain who is guarding Blackmar's chamber and return to
the guillotine area. Take off your guard uniform and enter the east building.
Talk to Patricia behind the counter and answer "Yes" to her. Exit the house
and speak with the man in green just north of it. Head to the southeast corner
and talk to Magnus. Answer "Yes" and go north behind the house. Talk to the
man in green. Head back south and you'll trigger a scene.
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Prison Guard x2
--------------------------------------------
HP: 750 MP: 0 EXP: 1000 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Medicinal Herb
'--------------------------------------------'
The Prison Guards are really easy, and they have low HP, so simply use Kabuff
to lessen the damage from their attacks and hack away until you defeat them.
In the next battle against Dogmus and Zozagel, you're SUPPOSED TO LOSE after
Dogmus uses Paralyzing Gaze to end the battle. Take note that you absolutely
can defeat them, but Dogmus has 7000 HP, so you'll have to deal gigantic
amounts of damage to him and Zozagel before he paralyzes your party. You can
defeat them, but it requires insane amounts of grinding and it's really not
worth it. Anyway, after the scenes, you'll thrown into a cell again. Talk to
the sleeping guard to trigger a scene. Head upstairs and approach the north
cell door. Talk to Erdrick and answer "Yes". You'll receive Jailor's Key and
four Seeds of Strength. Head all the way up to Blackmar's chamber and examine
the captain who's lying on the floor.
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Zozagel
--------------------------------------------
HP: 3500 MP: 0 EXP: 1000 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Strength
'--------------------------------------------'
Zozagel is much easier then he was in the previous battle, and despite having
all kinds of attacks like Flame Slash, Metal Slash, Roundhouse Kick and every
thing else, he's really easy this time. If you've been updating your armor in
the shops of the latest towns, you'll have more than enough defense to protect
yourself from all of his attacks. His HP is high, so this battle is gonna take
a while, but other than that, Zozagel is nothing to worry about.
Before entering Blackmar's chamber, I suggest you completely restore your HP
and MP in the well near Gallows Moor or in any of the Dread Realm towns. Also,
stock up on Magic Waters and Yggdrasil Leaves. Update your armors and put a
Sage character in your party. Return to the place where you defeated Zozagel
and enter the cell door for a scene.
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Blackmar
--------------------------------------------
HP: 3300 MP: 255 EXP: 8500 GOLD: 900
--------------------------------------------
Item: Silk Tuxedo
'--------------------------------------------'
Now this is a battle that gives you a decent challenge. Being the last Dread
Fiend standing in your path, Blackmar won't die as easily as the previous
Fiends. He is not that hard on his own, but what really makes this battle hard
is the presence of the Dragooners, Blackmar's minions. First off, Blackmar can
and will attack twice per turn. He uses Kasap very often, so constant Kabuff
is a must. Dragon Slash and Flame Slash are nothing to worry about, but his
Stomp attack can hurt really bad, although it fails often. He also has Inferno
in his arsenal, but armors with good fire protection will reduce the damage to
the minimum. If you have Mirror Armors on your characters, there's a chance
that Blackmar's Kasap will be reflected back to him and reduce his own defense
instead. I wouldn't advice to use more than two Mirror Armors, though, as your
healing magic may also be reflected. Then there's the Dragooners. These nasty
minions have about 400 HP, and you should kill them. Blackmar will be using
Kazing to revive them, but you still should kill them regardless. And you know
why? Because they summon Cureslimes that cast Fullheal on Blackmar to restore
ALL of his HP, as well as drain your own magic! Unfortunately, if a Cureslime
HAS been summoned to the battlefield, kill it ASAP. Take note that Blackmar
can use Kazing on Cureslimes, too. Anyway, the shortest way to end this battle
quickly is to kill off Dragooners and keep them dead. Blackmar won't be using
Kazing on every turn, so you'll have more than enough time to finish him off.
He's really not that difficult when he's alone, so keep that in mind.
After the scenes, go all the way down to the prison cell where the Supreme
Sage is kept. Open the door and proceed north. Use the Jailor's Key to free
the Sage. You'll obtain the [ORB OF TRUTH]. After the scenes, leave Gallows
Moor and go northwest to the cliff. Use the Orb and go northeast towards the
building.

'----------------------------------------------------------------------------'
If you're in a desperate need of a couple of levels, this very area around the
Prison of Sorrow is the best in the game, as Metal King Slimes appear quite
frequently here (at least, from my own experience). Have at least three party
members with Hatchet Man skill to dispose of these enemies and get a whopping
30000 EXP for each kill!
Enter the Prison of Sorrow and examine the corpse, then go down the stairs.
Examine the chained man for a scene. Return to Gallows Moor and talk to Sage
Benjamin. Answer "Yes" to him and he'll join you temporarily. Go back to the
Prison of Sorrow, and head down the stairs again for a scene.
---------------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Belleau & Cabot
---------------------------------------------------
HP: 2500 & 3500 MP: 255 & 0 EXP: 7700 GOLD: 1400
---------------------------------------------------
Item: Mini Medal
'---------------------------------------------------'
After defeating Blackmar, these enemies seem like a walk in the park. Take out
Belleau first, since he has the Boulder Toss skill which can hurt a lot if you
are not under the effect of Kabuff. He can also heal himself and Cabot and use
Stomp on your party. Cabot is much easier, as he tends to skip half of his
turns doing nothing, and basically all of his attacks are just too weak. You
should have more than enough vocation skills by now to finish both of these
foes easily.
After the scene, talk to the brothers. You have gained the ability to enter
Mortamor's Dreadlair. It's situated north of the Prison of Sorrow, if you paid
attention to the cutscene. Before entering it, I suggest getting all your main
party members up to level 45 or so, as it should be enough to withstand the
final boss, and stock up on things like Yggdrasil Leaves and Magic Waters. At
this point in the game, two of your main party members should have mastered
the Sage vocation, since you'll need those Multiheal and Kazing spells, as
well as the MP cost reduction. I had my Hero with the Dragon vocation, which I
got from the Dragonic Diligence obtained in the Medford Manor. Update your
equipment to the maximum and check your weapons. I suggest putting on things
like Sword of Ramias, Flail of Destruction, and Miracle Sword. You'll also get
a very good weapon in Mortamor's Dreadlair. Anyway, if you think you're ready,
enter the Dreadlair.

Go north up the staircases and enter the castle. Continue north and ascend the
central stairway. Stand on the arrow tiles and you'll move to the northwest
corner. Stand on the lower northwest tile (next to the tile from which you
slinged off just now) to move east. Step on the yellow switch to turn off the
tiles. Continue north, then go down the stairs and go to the northwest corner.
Here you'll find a chest that contains a [MINI MEDAL]. Return to the upper
floor. Stand on the west set of tiles to move west. Then step on the tile
pointing north to swing north. Open the chest with a [DEMON SPEAR]. Step on
the southeast tile that will take you down and to the right. Step on yellow
switch to turn off the tiles and proceed north to the stairway. Heal you HP/MP
in the green circle and go back. Step on the switch again, and jump on the
northeast set of tiles. Go up the northeast stairway. This is the area with
jumping tiles, and you can find Metal King Slimes here. Step on the nearby
tile to jump west. The chest here is a Mimic, so defeat it for a Seed of Life.
Then step on the upper tile to jump west. Step on the following tiles to get
to the southeast part of this area, and finally step on the south tile to jump
back to the start of the room. Go north and step on the third tile up to jump
west. Step on the upper of the four tiles to continue jumping to the northwest
corner of the area. Step on the northwest tile to jump to the stairway leading
down. But before descending it, step on the east tile to jump to a chest with
a [GOLDEN TIARA]. Get back to the staircase and descend it. Step on the blue
tile and the platform will move up. Head north to the stairway leading up.
Proceed all the way south and go through the big door. Walk north to a chest
that contains the [DRAGONIC DILIGENCE]. Head into the north door. In the next
area, you'll have some problems with the visibility. Go west, north and east
to three chests. The north one is a Mimic, and the other two contain a [MINI
MEDAL] and [PRINCESS'S ROBE]. Travel to the northwest corner, and from there,
head east to the northeast corner. There is a chest here that contains one of
the best weapons in the game - the [METAL KING SWORD]. Go back west and north
to the door. Follow the path on the bridge to the next door southeast. Before
going in, heal your HP and MP. If there's anything you forgot to do before
facing the final boss, now's the time to do it. When you're ready, fall down,
go west, then northwest up the staircases for a scene.
--------------------------------------------.
FINAL BOSS: Mortamor (First form)
--------------------------------------------
HP: 2000 MP: 255 EXP: 0 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: None
'--------------------------------------------'
This is the first form of Mortamor, the Archfiend. This and the other two of
his forms have some nice variety of attacks and spells, so the fights won't
become boring. First off, Mortamor attacks twice, most likely with a regular
attack and something from his arsenal of nasty spells. Venom Mist envenomates
a character, so use Squelch immediately, Searing Flame and Frigid Ice's damage
can be reduced with fire- and ice- protective armor and Magic Barrier. Then
there's Kaboom which hits the whole party for about 180-200 damage, and Balls
of Energy that hit random characters. His Meditation skill recovers 500 points
of his health. This battle is easy enough, simply use the strategy of Oomph +
Focus Strength + Falcon Slash and he'll fall soon enough. Be ready to cast
Kabuff a couple of times, as ALL of your stat effects carry over to the next
battle. There's also a slight chance that Mortamor will use Disruptive Wave to
erase all of these positive effects on your party, so keep that in mind.
--------------------------------------------.
FINAL BOSS: Mortamor (Second form)
--------------------------------------------
HP: 3000 MP: 255 EXP: 0 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: None
'--------------------------------------------'
Duting this battle, Mortamor's attack value is much higher, so expect to cope
with really big amounts of damage. This is where he'll start using Oomph and
Buff on himself, and Kasap on your characters. The most dangerous attacks here
are Inferno and Roundhouse Kick. Coupled with Oomph, this last attack can deal
up to 300 damage to all characters! Use Multiheal every turn with two party
members, and let the other two people Falcon Slash him to death. As far as I
know, Mortamor won't use Disruptive Wave during this battle, so you're safe
with all your star-increasing spells. He can also use Defending Champion when
he's low on HP to greatly reduce your damage to him, so use these turns to
recover HP of your characters and probably throw in some Magic Water to get
some of your MP back.
-----------------------------------------------------------.
FINAL BOSS: Mortamor (Third form), Right Hand & Left Hand
-----------------------------------------------------------
HP: 2500, 1700 & 2000 MP: 255 (all) EXP: 0 GOLD: 0
-----------------------------------------------------------
Item: None
'-----------------------------------------------------------'
Ok, this is it, the final battle. Mortamor now has two hands you'll have to
deal with, so you'll have to withstand three attacks on your party per turn.
This part is kind of frustrating. You have to take both hands, and you'll have
to do it simultaneously, or at least try to do it very quickly. I'll explain
why later. Mortamor has some very damaging attacks. Kafrizzle is a fire-based
attack that deals about 200 damage to one character, and Pyre o' Fire and
Freezing Blizzard hit the whole party for about 150 damage. His roar deals
about the same damage to the whole party, and he also has Eye Gleam that puts
your characters to sleep. This is rather nasty, as it may totally ruin your
attack pattern. Use Tingle immediately or wait for a physical attack on the
sleeping character. Disruptive Wave is the last card in Mortamor's sleeve. Do
not bother casting Kabuff, Oomph is all you need right now. Both hands have
really low defense, so you'll be able to take them out in two or three turns.
The right hand uses Talon Slam to hit one character for about 180 damage, and
knows Multiheal as well as Zing. The left hand also has Talon Slam, and Claw
Slash to boot. It also knows Kazing. You HAVE to kill the left hand first to
make it unable to use Kazing, and then the right hand to leave Mortamor all
alone. I repeat, do not bother damaging Mortamor until you take out the hands.
I used the good old Oomph + Focus Strength + Falcon Slash strategy with Hero
and Carver, and they both had mastered the Dragon vocation. With Sword of
Ramias and Metal King Sword, this shouldn't be too hard. Remember, if anyone
dies, use Kazing or an Yggdrasil Leaf, do not bother with Zing or else it may
fail and you'll lose a precious turn. You can also use Healie and his Omniheal
spell to completely restore your HP or throw in Yggdrasil Dew. Since you also
the backup party, I think you should do fine with defeating the last (or not?)
enemy in the game.
I won't spoil the ending for you, since you'll have to run around some towns
you have visited earlier in the game and do some talking. The game will let
you make a completed game save file. Save your game after the credits roll to
created a save file with a star. Congrats on beating the main storyline of
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation!!!

MINI-BOSSES
===========
Madame Luca's
=============
----------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Well Wisher
----------------------------------------
HP: 184 MP: 0 EXP: 162 GOLD: 72
----------------------------------------
Drops: Trailblazing Bandana
'----------------------------------------'
Alternatively, you could fight this boss with just Hero and Carver, but we
decided to stay on the safe side and get Milly before fighting it. Well Wisher
usually starts a battle by casting Fear on all of your allies. He also has an
attack where he throws a stone dealing medium damage to all the party members,
and that's about it. He tends to miss turns frequently, too. Since his HP is
so low, you'll take him down in like 3 or 4 turns.
Wellshire Hut
=============
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Bigg & Liddle
--------------------------------------------
HP: 500 & 320 MP: 0 EXP: 825 GOLD: 374
--------------------------------------------
Drops: Boxer Shorts
'--------------------------------------------'
If you already have the equipment from the casino, this battle should be very
easy cause these guys can't really hurt you that much. Liddle tends to cover
Bigg most of the time, so kill him first since he has lower HP. Cast Sap on
them both to make the battle go quicker. I have also noted that they attack
Milly rarely, but you should have probably leveled her up to at least level 8
just to be safe. Other than that, it's a pushover battle that shouldn't take
too much time.
Moonmirror Tower
================
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Corpsickle x3
--------------------------------------------
HP: 360 MP: 20 EXP: 840 GOLD: 171
--------------------------------------------
Drops: Seed of Life
'--------------------------------------------'
Three Corpsickles tend to wreck you with Poison and Envenomate status ailments
so be ready to cast Squelch with Milly whenever needed. Envenomate is more
dangerous, as it drains your HP very quickly. Keep pummeling them with simple
physical attacks, and if they start to heal each other, it means they're low
on HP, so finish them one by one.
Scrimsley
=========
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Scrimsley Terror
--------------------------------------------
HP: 800 MP: 0 EXP: 310 GOLD: 170
--------------------------------------------
Item: Stone Fangs
'--------------------------------------------'
Scrimsley Terror is laughably easy, as his regular attack is weak, his fang
bite is weak too, and on some turns he simply defends, so your damage will be
reduced greatly. Watch out for his stomping attack, as it may take about 60 HP
off your characters. Don't leave Carver with little HP, if he's using Double
Up. The boss has 800 HP, and this number will be brought to none quickly.
Arkbolt
=======
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Bronson
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1300 MP: 0 EXP: 310 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Strength
'--------------------------------------------'
Bronson is a pushover, his moves consist of Flame Slash and Flying Knee hits
that will probably barely even scratch you if you're Kabuff'ed. He has 1300 HP
so Carver's Double Up will come in handy to make the battle end faster.
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Brick & Brock
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1200 & 1300 MP: 0 EXP: 230 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Resilience
'--------------------------------------------'
These two guys are basically the same as Bronson, although Brick can cast
Kasap on your party. I advice you to counter it with Kabuff, or else Brock's
attacks may inflict some serious damage on your party. Take out Brick first,
as he's the damage user and knows spells like Oopmh, and what's even more
annoying, Multiheal. Brock is a tank, and has moves like Mercurial Thrust. He
can also defend himself or Brick during some turns.
Hallowed Hollow
===============
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: First Test
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1000 MP: 255 EXP: 550 GOLD: 220
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Agility
'--------------------------------------------'
The First Test is an easy battle, since he can only confuse your party members
with Fuddle Dance or cast Sizz to deal fire damage. You can cast Sap on him,
but it decreases his defense by only a little bit.
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Second Test
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1500 MP: 0 EXP: 750 GOLD: 380
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Strength
'--------------------------------------------'
Do not cast any spells on the Second Test, cause he has Bounce right from the
very start of the battle, and will reflect those spells. He has more HP than
the first boss, and more defense. Good ol' Double Up by Carver will help a lot
in this battle, as well as Fire Claw, etc. If Bounce wears off, you can try to
hit him with some elemental spells or cast Sap to speed up the battle.
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Third Test
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1300 MP: 255 EXP: 1250 GOLD: 680
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Wisdom
'--------------------------------------------'
This is the most annoying enemy out of the three (which isn't surprising...),
as it acts twice per turn and casts Kasap EVERY turn. It also has some pretty
damaging attacks, so Milly will be only Kabuffing your party in this battle.
Have Nevan heal anyone who's severely damaged with Midheal/Fullheal, and Hero
along with Carver should attack. Lightning attack is the nastiest, so if you
need to, help Nevan with Hero by using Staff of Ghent. It can also cast a
Bound spell on itself to reflect all magical attacks, so using Sap is a no-no
in this situation. The boss doesn't have that much of HP, so keep on hitting
it away, and eventually you'll win.
Gallows Moor
============
--------------------------------------------.
MINI-BOSS: Prison Guard x2
--------------------------------------------
HP: 750 MP: 0 EXP: 1000 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Medicinal Herb
'--------------------------------------------'
The Prison Guards are really easy, and they have low HP, so simply use Kabuff
to lessen the damage from their attacks and hack away until you defeat them.
BOSSES
======
Lucid Grotto
============
----------------------------------------.
BOSS: Bloodcreeper
----------------------------------------
HP: 370 MP: 18 EXP: 260 GOLD: 370
----------------------------------------
Drops: Seed of Resilience
'----------------------------------------'
The Bloodcreeper guy can be a bit of pain to kill, since his constant Dazzle
attacks that blind you characters for one turn. He attacks for about 20 HP
damage, which will be higher, if casts Sap beforehand. Don't bother trying to
Sap him, as he'll just use Buff to increase his defense again. Try to focus on
attacking him and healing when needed. He doesn't have too much HP.
Amor Cave
=========
----------------------------------------.
BOSS: Grrrgoyle
----------------------------------------
HP: 380 MP: 0 EXP: 330 GOLD: 250
----------------------------------------
Drops: Iron Claw
'----------------------------------------'
Grrrgoyle is a bit annoying since he mainly uses skills like Dazzleflash and
Fuddle Dance, so expect your characters to be blinded and confused A LOT.
Milly can use Crack against him, since I doubt that her current weapon will be
doing any significant damage, and Carver should use Flying Knee when he has a
chance. Most of the attacks will miss if you're blinded, but you'll defeat him
eventually.
Underkeep
=========
----------------------------------------.
BOSS: Murdaw
----------------------------------------
HP: 900 MP: 255 EXP: 2270 GOLD: 580
----------------------------------------
Drops: Seed of Magic
Murdaw's Keep
=============
-----------------------------------------.
BOSS: Murdaw
-----------------------------------------
HP: 500 MP: 90 EXP: 1250 GOLD: 156
-----------------------------------------
Drops: Seed of Resilience
Good luck.
Arkbolt
=======
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Brutus
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1800 MP: 80 EXP: 450 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Life
'--------------------------------------------'
Brutus is a badass, but nothing serious. He has a wide array of skills that
include Falcon Slash, Roundhouse Kick, Multislice, but only Vacuum Vortex can
seriously hurt you. Counter his Kasap with Kabuff or you might lose a party
member, if you're unattentive. Carver's skills should be enough to beat this
guy.
Isle o' Smiles
==============
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Jamirus
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1500 MP: 0 EXP: 1050 GOLD: 430
--------------------------------------------
Item: Fire Claw
'--------------------------------------------'
For a Dread Fiend, Jamirus isn't too much of a threat. He mostly uses some
mighty fire-based moves such as Fiecre Fire to hit all party members, or uses
a Fire Claw on someone. With Staff of Ghent on Hero, and healing spells of
Milly and Nevan, you have more than enough to keep up with his attacks, and
deal damage to him, too. Of course, use Kabuff twice to increase you defense.
Sap works on Jamirus, so do it twice to increase the damage output even more.
Spiegelspire
============
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Spiegel
--------------------------------------------
HP: 2400 MP: 255 EXP: 2000 GOLD: 800
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Magic
'--------------------------------------------'
At the start of the battle, he can cast Bound on himself to reflect magical
attacks and spells. It will disappear shortly after, but using Sap on him is
useless since he's immune to it.
Seabed Shrine
=============
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Gracos
--------------------------------------------
HP: 3000 MP: 50 EXP: 3700 GOLD: 900
--------------------------------------------
Item: Gracos's Trident
'--------------------------------------------'
Gracos is the third Dread Fiend. And he ain't easy, although he might seem
easy at the beginning of the battle. First off, he has high attack and defense
stats, and Sap doesn't work on him, so it means you're in for a long battle. I
suggest using a Fire Claw on him for some good damage. I had two Fire Claws at
this point (I got one from Jamirus), so I gave them to Hero and Carver and let
them do the beating.
Weaver's Peak
=============
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Demon-at-Arms
--------------------------------------------
HP: 1500 MP: 255 EXP: 1800 GOLD: 320
--------------------------------------------
Item: Medicinal Herb
'--------------------------------------------'
Stormsgate Citadel
==================
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Stormsgate Citadel
--------------------------------------------
HP: 3000 MP: 255 EXP: 2200 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Resilience
'--------------------------------------------'
Soon enough the Citadel
will fall.
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Terry
--------------------------------------------
HP: 2500 MP: 50 EXP: 1300 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Stylish Bandana
'--------------------------------------------'
Despite having a really wide array of attacks, Terry is mostly harmless. You
should counter his Kasap with Kabuff to up your defese. Having fire-protective
armor on your characters will help in bringing his Flame Slash damage to the
minimum. His Falcon Slash and Gust Slash attacks are equally weak, if you have
some good armor, but his Sunderbolt Blade attack that hits the whole party can
be quite damaging. Apply Multiheal or Omniheal immediately. Since Terry does
have a medium defense value, the battle should end rather quickly.
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Dhuran
--------------------------------------------
HP: 3000 MP: 255 EXP: 5500 GOLD: 2300
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Strength
'--------------------------------------------'
Being the fourth Dread Fiend, Dhuran is a noble warrior. With proper leveling
and skills, he's not that hard, actually. Despite the fact that he likes using
Disruptive Wave frequently to eliminate all positive effects on your party, I
would suggest casting Kabuff again and again to reduce the damage. His Wind
Sickles attack can hit quite hard, if you have low defense. Don't bother using
magic spells on him, since he uses Bound also. Weapons like Sword of Ramnias,
Miracle Sword or Falcon Blade do the most damage, so use them as you see fit.
All in all, it's not a hard battle.
Greedmore Valley
================
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Averill
--------------------------------------------
HP: 2000 MP: 0 EXP: 0 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Medicinal Herb
'--------------------------------------------'
Averill is pathetically easy, since his attacks are pretty weak. He can use
Leg Sweep or a Slam attack, but that's about it. Cast Sap on him a couple of
times to kill him even faster.
Gallows Moor
============
--------------------------------------------.
--------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Zozagel
--------------------------------------------
HP: 3500 MP: 0 EXP: 1000 GOLD: 0
--------------------------------------------
Item: Seed of Strength
'--------------------------------------------'
Zozagel is much easier then he was in the previous battle, and despite having
all kinds of attacks like Flame Slash, Metal Slash, Roundhouse Kick and every
thing else, he's really easy this time. If you've been updating your armor in
the shops of the latest towns, you'll have more than enough defense to protect
yourself from all of his attacks. His HP is high, so this battle is gonna take
a while, but other than that, Zozagel is nothing to worry about.
Prison of Sorrow
================
---------------------------------------------------.
BOSS: Belleau & Cabot
---------------------------------------------------
HP: 2500 & 3500 MP: 255 & 0 EXP: 7700 GOLD: 1400
---------------------------------------------------
Item: Mini Medal
'---------------------------------------------------'
After defeating Blackmar, these enemies seem like a walk in the park. Take out
Belleau first, since he has the Boulder Toss skill which can hurt a lot if you
are not under the effect of Kabuff. He can also heal himself and Cabot and use
Stomp on your party. Cabot is much easier, as he tends to skip half of his
turns doing nothing, and basically all of his attacks are just too weak. You
should have more than enough vocation skills by now to finish both of these
foes easily.
Mortamor's Dreadlair
====================

XV.........................FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...................DQVI15
==============================================================================
1. How does this version differ from the Super Famicom version?
- There are a number of significant changes: the Beastmaster class cannot
recruit monsters now, the after battle recruitment system is gone, you can
only recruit certain types of Slimes now. Lizzie can still be recruited. The
Wi-Fi communication system was inherited from Dragon Quest IX. A new mini-game
has been added, where you can use stylus. Some character and location names
have been changed: Hassan - Carver, Mireille - Milly, Barbara - Ashlynn and
Chamoro - Nevan, while many town and location names have been changed.
2. Is there a Party Chat option in this game?
- Yes, there is. Press the B button to begin conversations between your party
members.
3. When does the first character join the Hero?
- After conquering Gardsbane Tower and speaking with the king of Somnia.
4. Where and how do I get Amos?
- Amos is found in Scrimsley, after you get the ship. After fighting him in
the beast form, talk to him, but DO NOT tell him that he is a monster. Go to
Hazy Heights and find the Seeds of Reason there. Bring them to Amos, and he'll
join you.
5. Where and how do I get Lizzie?
- Lizzie can be obtained after getting Terry to join you after certain events
(don't worry, you can't miss them). Put Terry in your active party and go to
Howcastle. Head to the second floor exterior, and go down the southeast stairs
to find Lizzie in a cell.
