Diddy is Donkey Kong's nephew, and Dixie's girlfriend. He has good
acceleration, but his top speed isn't so good.

Tiptup the Turtle
=================
Tiptup is my personal favourite, despite him not really being that good.
He was to appear in Project Dream, which eventually got scrapped; we now
know it as Banjo-Kazooie. When the original DKR was in development, there
was a turtle who needed a name; he was handed down the title of Tiptup,
and he went on to cameo in Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and now
Diddy Kong Racing DS. I hope this rather silly story kept you entertained,
since I can't think of anything better.

From the main part of the overworld, drive over the bridge just right of
Wizpig's face.

You should have no problems here. The race is just like one big loop-
collect the coins on the first bend. At the next zipper, cut across the
grass. Collect the blue balloon for another boost. Avoid the dinosaur
towards the end of the lap.

At the waterfall, take the zipper. When approaching the zipper, aim
slightly right of the palm tree ahead; overwise, you will end up in the
water. At the fork in the track later on, take the inside (left) path.
Watch out for oil slicks, since there's a green balloon.

After the first tunnle, you will see a zipper. Be sure to turn right here,

This is a very easy boss. Get a boost start, and stick to the inside.
Grab any boosts on the inside, and be careful not to get trampled.

Balloon challenges.

In Ancient Lake, on the first bend you will see a rock formation. Go over
the ramp to collect the key. You can then press Start amd quit the race.

To get to Snowflake Mountain, from the main part of the overworld, fly
through the snow covered doorway. 2 balloons are required to enter.

Cut the corners by flying over the ledge. Try and go through as many
zippers as possible, and avoid low ledges. Quite an easy race.

At the first set of balloons try to get a blue. Use your boost as soon as
you get it to pull away from the other racers.
Leave oil and other traps after the loop.
Later on, in the section where you jump over gaps in the road, take the
path on the left.

At the start, take the path to the right. When you drop down, go towards
the right of the tree to find a boost. Keep collecting the blue balloons,
and go through the igloo. Collect the last blue balloon there, go over
the zipper, and then use your mega-boost just as the zipper slows down.

After going under the arched viaduct, cut the corner on the right. Go over
the zippers in this tunnle. When you exit, you will have a choice of where
to go. For now, just stick to the track, but if you want to try the
alternate paths it's up to you.

It's vital that you get a good start here. Collect the speed boost on
the right, and use it in the tunnle. At the end of the tunnle, you will
drop down- make sure you are in the centre so you can collect the blue
balloon. If the walrus comes up behind you, try and get in it's way so it
gives you a push. If you are finding this boss impossible, you should
consider using a different character (I used Tiptup) and/or upgrading
your hovercraft.

In Snowball Valley, as soon as the race begins, don't get a boost. Turn
immeadietly left to find a small area. Collect the key and quit the race.

To get to Sherbert Island, fly to the beach area, There will be a small
island just off the coast. 10 balloons are needed for entry.
*Tip- the majority of this level uses the hovercraft.
If you are having problems, upgrade and/or change
characters to someone like Tiptup.*

At the start, aim for the middle waterfull. Collect the boosts, and after
the tunnle, use the zippers. There are two ways to go- around the
shipwreck, or you can jump over the whale as if it was a ramp. I'd
reccomend going round.

This is a pretty simple track- at the pirate ship, just be sure to take
the first door on the left, since the other path will make you lose time.

At the beggining of the race, don't bother going over the ramp- instead,
go to the left and you'll see a zipper. At the first bend, hold stick to
the inside- hold L if you have to- so you can go through the zipper on
the other side. Just continue going through the zippers, but beware-
some will push you off course, losing you time.

After the initial streight, collect the blue boost balloon in the middle.
Go over the zipper on the outside of the bend, and enter the cave.
Collect the coins if you can, and go over the zippers. Try and remember
their locations, since they're the key to winning this race- remember to
let go of A just before you go over them, or use a boost.

Stay as close to the middle wall as you can. Collect the red balloon,
but don't use it yet; grab the second one in the tunnle so you have 5
rockets. When the octopus gets ahead of you, hit him with a rocket. Just
be sure to get out of the way- you don't want to get stuck behind him.
Just make sure you stick to the wall around bends and this should be
quite easy, unless you still haven't mastered the hovercraft.

In Cresent Island, after the first tunnle turn left (before the barrier
starts). Go into the lake. Collect the key and quit the race.

Get a boost start, and head for the blue balloon. Use it immeadietly to
go underneath the next windmill, and over the zipper. Continue to use the
zippers, and remember to cut corners. Just try not to crash into any
windmiils or their sails (sweeps if you live in Sussex, heh heh.)

In the village square, go under the well through the secret passage.
Stick to the insides as you go through the trees, and that tunnle. Power
slide through the winding cillage, and use the zipper just before the
line.

Avoid the rotating logs. Stick to the right wall, collecting blue
balloons. When you go down the waterfall, try and get another blue
balloon- use it to cut the corner into the tunnle. At the end of the
castle section, take the path to the right. Avoid the logs once again,
and go through the zipper on the bend.

Stay to the inside as you go around the pond. Once inside the castle, go
through the zipper on the opposite side. After the haunted woods section,
you will cross a wooden bridge. There are zippers on either side, but
watch out for oil slicks.

If you've mastered the plane (and upgraded) this boss should be easy.
Just stick to the inside of corners, and collect all of the boosts. If
you're behind the dragon, find some missiles. He doesn't go that much
faster than you, anyway.

In Boulder Canyon, just as you enter the castle area, you will see lots
of chains hanging down from the roof. On one there will be a bell; drive
into it to make the drawbridge go up. Drive up the drawbridge, you may
need a boost. Jump onto the ledge, collect the key and quit the race.

Once you have collected all four parts of the Wizpig Amulet (beat every
boss twice), the large carving in the cliff opposite Taj's tent will
come to life. It's mouth will open up; fly through it to face Wizpig,
the final boss.

Once you've learned the course, Wizpig is very easy. Just follow these
tips, and show that intergalactic space pig who's boss.
* Learn the course. Remember where the zippers are, since they're vital
to winning.
* Do a couple of dummy runs. About halfway along the course, there's a dip
so you can't see that there's water on the other side- you need to
remember that too.
* Don't get trampled. It doesn't really slow you down very much, but it's
not very helpful either.
* Once you've learned the course (this should only take you three minutes

After the first bend, make sure you go through the two zippers. Once you
enter the tunnle with the electricity, stay low. In the next area, there
may be a spaceship that shoots at you. Go around the perimiter of the
area so you don't get hit. Once again, stay low in the next tunnle. When
you leave the tunnle, fly underneath the track for a shortcut. Use the
zipper, and you should be in the cave. Watch out for pillars, and get a
blue balloon before the finish line.

you will be able to go through the zipper before the first large room.
After the small tunnle that follows, you will be in another large room-
go left to find another zipper. In the long corridor that follows, go to
the right. Collect the blue balloon, and go through the zippers. Use
that blue balloon in the blue tunnle that follows. Then, in the red
tunnle, stay low so you can collect coins and use the zipper.

There is a zipper to the left in the first tunnle. After the tunnle, turn
left to get off the tract- there's another shortcut. Head for the dome

Don't get a boost start, or you'll get zapped. Head streight for the blue
balloon, and use it. In the tunnle that follows, you should be right
behind Wizpig. Collect the two red balloons, and wait until you are in
the open area before you fire them, or else you will crash into Wizpig.
In the open area, get up high. You will see a spaceship shooting lasers.
Either avoid them completly (hard to do) or get hit early on, so you start
flashing. Then you can't be hit again, so you'll have no problems getting
into the tunnle entrance. If you get hit too late, you won't be able to
get into the tunnle.
In the tunnle, avoid the electricity and pillars. If you stop even once,
you've lost it. Remember to keep firing missiles at Wizpig, and grabbing
the boosts.
It'll take you several attempts- I spent about half an hour on this boss
race- but eventually you should win. Just don't get too stressed- take a
break every now and then, have a drink or something. Once you beat Wizpig,
it really IS the end. Congratulations!

Sand Drawings (SD)
=============
In the beach area of the overworld, fly around until you find a balloon
drawn on the side of a cliff. Below that, you can draw in the sand with
the touch screen. You should see marks in the sand like this;

To get a golden balloon, draw a balloon shape.
To get a scratchcard, draw a rectangle. The first panel you scratch off
shows how many coins you will recieve.

Frozen Balloon (FB)
==============
In the area outside Snowflake Mountain, you will find a balloon in an
icecube on top of a ramp. Fly up to it, and with the touchscreen, push it
into the river. It will melt the icecube, and you can collect the
balloon on the beach.
Hidden Scratchcard (HSC)
==================
From the main area, go down the tunnle you race Taj down. Towards one end,
there will be a picture of Wizpig in the rock. Draw around it with the
stylus to recieve a scratchcard.
Cliff Coins (CLC)
===========
At the beach, you can pull back the palm trees to fire coconuts. Hit the
cliff side and coins will temporarily pop out.
