This FAQ is the ONLY FAQ i have found on the net that has a COMPLETE Monster

You will get full credit if you do so. Thanks
Also on another note I think I'm going to put up a section for only good fun
quick exp. gaining places but this will only be filled with emails that i get
from you. I have already givin out a couple of places, but i know anybody who
is reading this knows so much more. You can describe me where it is at by
either using my ascii maps or Dark Nemisis maps on GameFAQ.
This is my first game faq I have ever written so please be gentle on me. I
started writing this FAQ since there hasn't been a full faq for this game
yet. I also hope this faq meets everyones satifaction. Please Email me if
you see any typing errors or would like to tell me how to get threw a boss
or area easier and you will get full credit for it. I'm sorry about all the
mistakes that are in here but I'm tring to get this out as fast as posiible and
sometimes I'm just tyipping away and not double checking my work. Also please
do not post this FAQ or anything from this FAQ anywhere besides GameFAQ and
with out my permission. That will be just mean and i spent a long time writing

================================
Gameplay Basics and Advance tips
================================
Unlike previous castlevanias this game deals with glyph absorption. Each
diffirent glyph gives you diffirent abilities (please see glyph section for a
full list), 10 hearts and 1 AP point for each attribute. So when you see a
glyph absorb it even if you already have that ability.
Absorbing Glyphs - Glyphs can be found all over the place. Either threw
Statues, killing eniemies or having the enemy use there glyph. To abrosb them
just hold up on the d-pad, but the trickest ones to get are from the eneimies
that cast them. Those you will have to wait untill they start casting the
glyph then holding up on the d-pad as well.
*note: If you do absorb the enemys glyph the cannot attack with that spell..so
absorb them even if you already have them.
Glyph Sleeve's - The Glyph Sleeve once optained (in Minera Prison on normal
mode and Ecclisia on hard mode) is a very useful item. Just like the dopple
ganger in Castlevanis Dawn of Sorrow allows quickly switching between glyphs.
For instance between two facir glyphs and refectio to a grando, ignis, and arma
felix glyph, but now you got three sleeves. An A, B, and C. So it makes it
easy to switch between alot of glyphs. To switch between sleeves hold down the
A button then press the R button to switch between the desired sleeves. If you
want to switch between sleeves in the menu you can easily do this by pressing L
or R in the glyph equipment menu.
Striking - In order to attack anything in this game you must equip a glyph in
your Main or Sub weapon Catogory. After that hit x or y
Double Striking - Ok your not striking with both wepons at once your pressing Y
then X over and over. You go threw MP pretty fast but the damage dealt is
fantastic takes alittle time to get use to and diffirent wepons have diffirent
speeds for example raipers are faster then scythes. i changed the controlles
just to do this move which was switching X with L where sub-glyph was L and
back dash was X and it helped alot.
Quick Jump Striking - Like in castlevaina symphony of the night your attacks
get cancelled when you land on the ground, but if you rool your thumb quickly
from b button towards y you can perform a quick attack and keep on moving.
This move is best used in Misty forest road with the lizardblade men when you
can kill each of them in one hit. Quick Jumping slash then normal attack then
repeat. Of course your only tapping these buttons.
Lizard's Tail - This is actually your first Relic to actaivated press and hold
down then press B which will make you slide across the ground.
Back Dash - Use back dash. I never really used Back Dash that much tell this
castlevainia and its great. Moves you out of the way for oncoming attacks
Back Dash Cancel - ok back dash is nice back dash cancel better. Some of the
weapons stay out for way to long to counter act that (or hit then move back)
basicially strike then back dash.
Attributes - Each glyph follows a specific attribute from strike. slash, fire,
ice, lightning, stone, curse, poision, darkness, or / and light some glyphs
follow multiple attributes like nitesco. Also enemys have strength weaknesses
against attributes. If its red they are weak against it (1.5 times normal
damage ignoring the defence of that enemy) and blue they are strong against it
(25% normal damage). You can use Drops, Red, Blue, Green, White, or Black, to
increase your AP by a 1000.
Glyph Union attack - Press and hold up and then press Y or X to perform this
move. Each glyph union attack is diffirent and a full list is stated in the
glyph section.
Level up and Stats - leveling up is pretty easy hit the exp required for the
next level, but if you want to know the stats of an unequip Lv.96 Shonoa you
can follow this table below just rember .5 or lower is rounded down and .6 or
higher is rounded up.
Stat Effect Growth Calculation
+----+-----------------------------------------+------------------+
|ATK |Damage dealt from main glyphs |None |
| |(this stat is determined from STR or INT)| |
+----+-----------------------------------------+------------------+
|DEF |Damage taken from phisical attacks |None |
+----+-----------------------------------------+------------------+
|STR |Increase ATK + 1 for every 2 points |5 + (0.7 x LEVEL) |
+----+-----------------------------------------+------------------+
|CON |Increase DEF + 1 for every 2 points |4 + (0.5 x LEVEL) |
+----+-----------------------------------------+------------------+
|INT |Increase ATK + 1 for every 2 points |5 + (0.6 x LEVEL) |
+----+-----------------------------------------+------------------+
|MND |Increase Shanoa's magic defence |3 + (0.4 x LEVEL) |
+----+-----------------------------------------+------------------+
|LCK |Affects item, glyph, and rare treasure |2 + (0.3 x LEVEL) |
| |box apperance | |
+----+-----------------------------------------+------------------+
How to use this table is simple just figure what lv you want to be at like 96
then do the formaly above for each stat (example str is 5 + (0.7 x 96)=72.2
round down in this case which is 72 while luck is 2 + (0.3 x 96)=30.8 rounded
up is 31)
Quick Familiar Level Ups - The quickest way to level up familiars is absorbing
16 of the same glyphs for level two and 16 more for level three.
Easy Familiar Level Ups - While you can absorb glyphs familiars you need 32,767
exp to reach lvl. 2 and a total of 65,535 exp to reach lvl. 3, but you gain
exp. for your familiars by having them attack. 3 exp. points per attack. So
this comes up to about 8 hrs of having your charecter standing around doing
nothing except watching your familiar attack in a room where the monsters keep
on coming. Great places are the monastary where the zombies keep on coming
back and Dracula's castle where ghouls keep on coming.
Bad Status affects - Theres only three which are poison, curse, and sone
Posion - Reduces STR, INT and MND by 75%. Also causes minor
damage about every 2-3 seconds.
Cure - use Anti venom or wait it out
Curse - Rapidly drains MP Gauge to zero
Cure - use Uncurse potion or wait it out
Stone - Encasses Shanoa in stone and you can still be
attacked.
Cure - rapidly press left then right on the d-pad.
Save Points - This statue goddesses found throughout the game save your game.
Warp Points - This holy grail will warp you to a previous visted warp point you
have visted.
Treasure boxes - there are 5 diffrent type of treasure boxes. Just press up on
the D-pad to open them
Common boxes - A brown box found in most areas that has random
items in it. It also has a 10% chance of it being
a rare box. This box refills it self once you
leave the area.
Rare boxes - A green box that contains rare items. Stats for a
rare box to appaer is based off of luck 10% + (0.1 x
your luck score). The treasure hat can increase an
additional 20% but this can not go over 40%.
Hidden boxes - A blue box that is hidden from view pressing down
where they appear at will raise it up. if you are
having trouble finding them use the dowsing hat to
hear a beep when you get close to it (the closer
the louder). Once open they stay open until you
start a new game+
Red boxes - A red box that holds HP, MP, Hearts Max up, or
equipment. Once open they stay open until you start
a new game+
Breakable Objects - candlesticks and torches are these babies and they are
everywhere, either dropping money (1,10,50, or 100) or hearts (only if you are
low on hearts)
Breakable walls - Castlevanias classic way on hiding items and rooms. If you
hit the wall it has smoke come from it and after 3 hits the wall comes down.
Item, Glyph Hunting - Items recommend: Ribbon, Robe Decollete, Thief Ring x 1~2
or Fortune Ring x 1~2, Felicem Fio or Rapidus Fio.
Basically your tring to get your luck as high as possible. Then you run around
tring to get items from enemys. You can use a thief ring early on but if you
got a lot of hours in game play the fortune ring is better. As for Felicem fio
it raises your luck but only about 8 points so it may be better to use rapidus
fio so you can move in and out of rooms quickly. the stats for monster drop is
monster base drop (found in the bestiery) and adding 0.5% for every point of
luck.
Rare Treasure Box Hunting - Items recommended: Treasure hat, Robe Decollete,
Thief Ring x 1~2 or Fortune Ring x 1~2,
Rapidus Fio The trasure hat increases your chance of rare box apperance by 20%.
Everything else just boosts luck. The stat for rare box apperance is
10% + (0.1 x your luck score) and cannot go over 40%
Rapid experince gain - Items recommended: Hierophant ring x 1~2.
Equip them on and start fighting every thing good places to fight is in the
misty forest where the lizardman blades are, final nights, or jing shi in the
large cavern (you can fight jing shi multiply times by hitting him again after
he dies which restarts the battle.
Easy Experince gain - Items recommended: Hierophant ring x 1~2.
Ok so its fighting ANYTHING ALOT to reach lv. 255. So while your taking a
break from the game like sleeping. go to an area that has responding creatures.
call out one of your familiars and let them attack every thing. just rember
kill everything else in that room and stand some where where you dont get hit
like the door entrance. Watch to make sure your not getting hit for a couple
of minutes and then let it fly.
Rapid attribute points - Items recommended: Master Ring x 1~2.
Again you can fight lizardman blade, final nights or jing shi. Max Attripute
points is 65,535 which is max you attack 300% stronger. Of coarse doing this
takes about a day and a half.
Easy attribute points - Items recommended: DEF score above 78, Tower Ring,
Emporer Ring, Refectio, rubber band, and soda bottle top.
This one is a little funny. Start by equiping everything and saving at the
mystery manor save point just to the left of the save point is 2 white formors.
Activate refectio and hold up. Well this takes about 2 days to do so thats
where the rubber band and soda cap comes in handy. Put the rubber band around
the DS cover the D-Pad and bottom screen then put the cap over the up button
viola youll get 1 AP point for every glyph absorbed. This technique takes
about 2 days to do. So do which ever one makes you happy. I dont know exactly
who to give credit to since i found these off of the message boards.
Gaining Money quickly - Items recommended: Gold ring x 2, Inire Pecunia, and
ordinary stone.
In Tymeo mountian there is a torch near the top of the screen. You want to
jump over it and hold down then jump again. then keep on holding down and
pressing the B Button and you'll make money quick sense your jumping on the
torch to destroy it then jumping up out of the screen then back down. Again I
dont know where to give credit to since I found this off the message board.
One Gold ring will get you 500G max
Two Gold Rings will get you 1000G max
With only Inire Pecunia will always get you 100G
So keeping all three equipped and on will always grant you 1000G
Earning Boss medals - Items recommended: Death ring x 1~2, and patience.
This one is frustrating especially if its your first time threw. The death
rings help because if you get hit you die no matter what, but in order to get
the medal you cannot get hit by the boss at all. So it works. if you need
tips on how to beat a certain boss check in the boss section of this guide.

Walkthrough
===========
Please read this first so you can understand my walkthrough this game is big
and I would rather type as little as possible for you
How to use this walkthrough:
I'm leaving an ascii map of the room for quick guidence so if you see your in
room one look on your map and you should be where room 1 is. There is also an
item check list for the rooms and monster guide here for quick reference. If a
room is not put in the walkthrough its because these rooms are save points
(s), or warp points (w). There is nothing else in these rooms except for save
points and warp points. Also number 0 is where you normal start at from area
to area. If a room states it has an item box this the random item chest either
common or rare stated in the gameplay basic and advance tips. Now onto the
walkthrough.

Once you enter this room go ahead and equip 2 macir's. then use magnes to get
on the ledge and active your fimialer Fidelis Cares. Just jump up on the next
ledges and after a while of climbing the boss will attack. Now this boss has
four diffirent phases in it.
Phase 1: Before this boss comes out if you got your zombies moving around
they'll take off 3 HP a second while its going threw the opening scence.
after that keep climbing al the way to top. once there face right and back
dash to the left wall. once the boss has stopped climing and moved his left
legs down press down and b to jumbp down a ledge. In this form he has three
attacks to watch for. One, he will move his claw over your head then pull
back and slam it into the left wall. To avoid it just duck down on the lower
ledge and you can keep swinging your weapons at him. Two, he will spit acid
bubbles at you that can be popped by hitting it with your weapon. Three he
will slowly move his claw towards you once he has lost enough life. Then
pulls back very rapidly and turns red which you do not need to hit him again
tell phase 2. Now in this form he only has 2 attacks. The bubbles like in the
green form and also a claw slam. to avoid this claw slam get up on the upper
ledge and run to the right side of the room. Once there watch his claw and
after it pinches about two-three times move left. then get back over to the
right side and repeat 2 more times. once hes down with that claw slam he will
spit bubbles then do another claw slam. Again follow the previous step to
avoid his claw slam. he needs to hit the same part of the cieling to finally
collapse. Once it does attack his claw and after he pulls back start climbing
the ledges. if you see a Magnet use magnes to help you climb up to phase 2.
Phase 2: Nothing really new about this phase except that you no longer have a
ledge going all the way across. just keep on attacking him and what tell he
moves his slow claw at you. Once he does just jump up on the ledge above you
and watch him do his claw slam, but instead of running to the right wall just
hang tight on the left wall. He will bust the ceiling there opening up Phase
3. Again climb up using magnes.
Phase 3: The final stage. he has the same attacks as before, but now he has an
additional attack. A wall bash attack that occurs after the acid bubbles. To
avoid this just jump up on the upper ledge and wait for him to attack. Once he
turns red just hang tight on the left wall upper ledge tell he bust the
ceiling again then move up. once you are at the top jump to the left of the
spike elevator looking thing ( Don't worry the spikes dont hurt you) then get
right in the middle and press down to kill the boss. If all goes well you'll
get the medal too. After he's dead just go back up the elevetor and to room

This creature is weak against Stricking and holy, hrmm. Go ahead and equip
luminato in both your main and your sub or Vol Confedere. If you don't got
Vol Confedere you can use Falcis since the have the same attack power. This
craeture has three attacks spitting a bouncy skull at you, shooting rings and
smashing it self towards the ground, but the major problem is the three red
tentacles. To dodge the spitting skulls just cast luminto at them or strike
them with your sword. If a dark ripple courses threw the tentacles then its
going to shoot rings at you. just move away from the end of the tentacle when
this happens. If the body quickly rises just dont be underneath it because he
is going to slam himself back down.
Using the luminato helps keep the tentacles down if your chaining them, but it
doesnt have the striking power that the swords do. While the swords can't hit
the tentacles as much. so its your choice to use the swords and hit him hard
and fast doing double strikes or using luminato and keeping his tentacles
down. Either way works and you shouldn't have to much trouble from this kill
him grab the medal and move to the last room.

Fun with Backtracking
=====================
This part of guide is reefering to the maps that I made for each of the
previous areas.
Once you leave skeleton cave head to Wygol village to open up the next area,
but before we go we should pick up the treasure box in the monastary room 8
and get the fool ring. After that move to room 9 and equip Luminato and Umbra
and do a Union glyph. Once done keep on holding up to get this glyph (cubus).
Don't leave the room yet there still one ring to get. just keep on attacking
the the cubes with luminato and umbra tell they are all gone. If you can't
hit the last set of blocks you can do a union glyph with luminato umbra or and
axe union glyph to get them. Once done a treasure box appears. Open it to
find the Justice ring.
In Misty Forest road holds only one item you can get, but it requires a tricky
jump. Get to room 5 on the upper right ledge. The one you can jump through
then double jump to the left, hold down and press b again to dive kick onto the
specter and last but not least. Jump a third time towards the left.
The Last Area we are going to visit in backtracking fun is Minera Prison
Island. Remeber that room you couldn't get to because you didn't have the
double jump? room b. Well go there and jump all the way to the top to rescue
the villiger Aeon and grap the tower ring.

First thing to do is equip a sword and vol fulgar or equipping two Vol
Confodere.
This boss has five diffirent attacks. It will hit water towards you that will
travel the ground then spray up at you. She will shoot her hair at you. Call
for three rocks from the ceiling that you can jump on or destroy. Send in a
tidal wave and last but not least use a hydro pump to attack you.
To dodge her hair either stay right up next to her or jump, backdash back.
For that splash wave just jump back since the water follows youfor a little
bit. as for the rocks you easily dodge them by moving out of there way after
she lifts both her arms. The tidal wave is the trickest one to dodge. To do
this just stand under one of the rocks that she calls out. Also for her hydro
pump you can dodge this by either jumping to the other side of her or standing
on the ground. By far this boss requires the most patience to defeat.
If you are using the Confeder Vol Fulgor tactic be patient and hit her only
when she is using the hydro pump, Rock calling, or after the tidal wave comes.
If you are using duel Confedre's you can quickly move in and attack then move
out before she attacks, but if you do this after you attack wait for her to
attack or move. If all goes well pick up the medal after shes dead.

Strong:Lightning
Weak: Stricking
Since this creature is weak against striking it would be wise to equip Vol
Secare or Vol Falcis. Other glyphs you can use can be Arcus or Culter since
the got a little bit more range.
This boss has five attacks. First attack, he starts out with this attack which
he winds up a punch then hits the ground and shoots out rocks from the ground.
To avoid this you can only stand back far enough back that they will not hit
you. So right when you see him wind up his punch stand back. The second one
he will jump up at you slamming both fists to the ground and shooting out a
white, blue wave from the ground. This one can be avoided by either sliding
under him after he crouches then jumps over or standing far enough back then
jumping over the wave. It's wiser to slide under him so you don't get
cornered.
His next attack, he hits the ceiling and roof panels fall to the floor. All
you need to do is watch out for them by back dashing or try to move out of the
way. His last attack that may seem unavoidable at first is he stomps on the
ground from one side of the room to the other. This can easily be avoided by
getting close to one of his feet after it hits the ground and ducking. Then he
will step right over you.
The best way to attack him is probably using the Arcus. Since it gives you
range and if you can pull the timing off you can use the union glyph for the
arrows and destroy the ceiling pieces when they fall and do decent amount of
damage. You can also use you're weapons since the take off alot more damage
then your arrows. Just remmeber to use the union glyphs to make the battle go
faster.

Hidden Box: Lovers Ring
Item box
When you enter this room you will notice that you can not go any further. To
move on climb to the top and use magnes in room 7 to shoot yourself towards the
upper left. Before you land hold up to absorb the glyph, Vol Grando, and this
will melt the ice. Now when you go back to room 6 jump towards the left side
of the waterfall. after the screen changes to room 6 jump your second jump and
hold left. You should be able to jump to the top ledge contaning a Heart Max
Up. Open the chest then jump down to the ledge right underneath this ledge that
has an Amanita out in the open. Now dont go all the way down yet just hit the
wall to open up room 8 and rescue Irina then jump down for the item box on the
final ledge. Last but not least just crouch right in the middle of the
waterfall to revail the hidden chest containing a Lovers Ring.
7 - Glyph: Vol Grando
8 - Villiager: Irina
9 - Monsters: Bat
Hard Mode: Medusa Head
Be careful about this area. You'll need to use magnes to get across the
spikes, but now you have bats coming across this room. Just a bunch well timed
slingshots from magnes will get you across.

You can get this glyph by double jumping then dive kicking off an Altair then
jump one more time to the ledge. Again this move requires a little finesse
just like in misty woods.
3 - Boss: Gravedorcus
AP: 70
EXP: 3000
HP: 3600
ATK: 70
DEF: 10
MND: 0
Strong:
Weak: Hammers, and Ice
This boss was pretty difficult for me, but be patient and you'll pull threw.
First equip Vol Macir's and if you got it the blow ring to take off more
damage.
When you first enter the room he will swim threw the sand and then jump over
you and a rock will pop out of the sand that you will be stepping on. Since
this creature likes to be in the sand he can feel your movements. Knowing this
its best to try to stay on this rock or the other rock towards the left. Now
this creature has seven attacks.
The first attack and most common that he starts out with is he will jump over
the rock to the other side. To avoid this one you should see some sand
movement on either the left or right side of the screen. Start walking towards
it. Then he will jump out. If you notice this turn around and start striking.
You should hit him twice unless you get a glyph union attack off. The next
common attack he will start out with has his top fin come out of the sand like
a shark. Avoid this one by watching the cloud dust and if you were you will
more then likely be on that side since it starts out like so many other
attacks. So if you notice the sand to start to turn into a giant bubble. Jump
to the other side and step a little bit away from the rock.
Again watching the dust his next two attacks he sticks out his head. Move in
attacking range and start swinging at his head. If you see purple clouds
bursting in front of his mouth while your attacking him keep swinging. The
balls need to be destroyed or they start getting annoying after awhile, but if
you see him spit out green smoke IMMEDIATLE do a backdash. Even if your in a
middle of a swing. Then jump towards the other side of the rock.
After awhile of fittng him like this he will try to destroy the rock by either
smashing it straight up or hitting it with his tail. If he's going to smash it
straight up the sand will start turning to a giant bubble underneath the rock.
After that start running towards the other rock towards the left. If he is
going to destroy it with his tail you will see dust kick up. immeditaitly jump
towards your right (or left if you are on the left rock) and start attacking
his body and his tail. Don't worry about his top fin. It will not hit you
during this attack only. If you happen to be on the other side of the rock
don't try to jump over since more then likely you will get hit. Instead run
towards the other rock and get a little bit away from it since the rock pieces
can still hit you if you are touching the other rock.
Once both rocks are destroyed he will swim across the sand (more then likely on
the left side but there has been a couple of times on the right) and jump up
then hit the other wall ( if he starts on the left then he will hit the right
and vice versa). This one is pretty easy to dodge. Right when you see the
sand start to bubble up and his top fin poke out start running towards the
other side. After that wait tell he jumps out of the sand then run underneath
him or use your lizard tail one to two times. Once he hits the wall start
attacking him again. He has a long recovory time. Once he recoverys he will
dive back into the sand and the rocks come back up. Repeat until he dies.
Again pick up the medal if all goes well and watch him try to jump over you and
die.
4 - Monsters: Werewolf, Lizardman, Stone Rose
Items: Chamomlie
Breakable Wall: Diamond
The chamomileis another tricky item. The goal is to jump on the stone rose's
head then jump to the ledge. I find the best way to do this is to kill the
werewolf and lizardman then getting hit by the stone rose while trying to go
threw it. get up high watch its movements and then jump on his head at his
right upper most hieght. Then jumping over to the last werewolf. Again this
move requires finesse. After you get the item kill the stone rose and then hit
the left bottom wall to to reveal a Diamond.
5 - Monsters: Lizardman, Werewolf, Armored Beast
6 - Storyline
7 - Breakable Wall: Hermit Ring
This item is located on the far left wall.
After you're out of Oblivion ridge just head back to Ecclesia and talk to
Barlowe in Room 2. If you want to know exactly where this room is at you can
scroll up to Ecclisa section, but its theroom on the upper right.

Items: If you destroy all the spikes, Fortune Ring
Before you enter this room save. the spikes are deadly and this room can
become trouble some. When you first enter this room the only things you will
see is the spikes and Shonoa. Your goal is to slide, dodge the spikes and
absorb th glyph at the end of the room. The first two moving spikes are easy
to dodge by sliding underneath them while a third passes right by your head,
but soon you will hit a wall and cannot move forward. when the top spike is
moving towards the left and the one up above your head is moving towards the
right jump over the hidden wall. Next move closer to the next spike and then
duck tell the one moving up and down moves up then slide underneath it. once
you hit the next wall watch the spike movements and wait tell the top spike
hits the roof while both the vertical moving spikes hit the right wall then
jump that invisable wall. the next to spikes you just need to slide under them
when the are both up. Now when all three spikes are moving up jump and run
across here. When you drop to the floor slide on the ground tell you hit
another wall. next you need to move in between both the vertical spikes. So
jump when the horizontal spike passes your head and the vertical spike hits the
roof. Now you're in between the vertical spikes. Once the horizontal spike
passes your head again towards the right and the vertical spike on your left
hits the ground double jump towards your left, but only about two blokes from
the vertical spike. Now Begin absorbing the glyph and see what you just made
it threw.
Once you get a glyph called the Arma Machina glyph from Automation ZX27 in
Dracula's castle. You can come back here to destroy the spikes and get a
fortune ring if you do.
b - Boss: Albus
Glyph: Acerbatus
AP: 0
EXP: 0
HP: 4000
ATK: 80
DEF: 0
MND: 0
Strong:
Weak: Slashing, Darkness
*Warning: This is the only place you can get Acerbatus from. So make sure you
absorb this glyph from Albus.
The Acerbatus is the only place you can get this glyph. He will be casting
this glyph when he raises his hand up in the air. if you see him raise his
hand up immediatly hold up and absorb this powerful glyph.
I would equip Vol Umbra until i absorb Acerbatus. Then i would use that
against him. Since it takes off more damage then Vol Umbra it would be a nice
attack since you should try to stay behind him as often as possible.
This boss has several diffrent attacks and does them randomly. His first
attack is a basic shoot. His next attack he will call out vertigo shoot and
two beams, one white and one black, will shoot out in a spiral. His third he
does a jump kick with flame surrond him either straight up or over and his last
attack he says "dodge this" and throws out torpor bombs to freeze you.
This boss can be easy or really hard. the best thing to do is always stay
behind him, but as soon as you see his arm raise up absorb his glyph and use it
against him. Basicall right when you get behind him and he is still attacking
cast out Vol Umbra or Acerbatus at him. If he says "dodge this" and start to
jump to the right double jump towrds the left or stand in between his shoots,
but not his first two. If he jumps to the left go right. Also if you touch
him he will not hurt you so you can run threw him all you like.
After he is defeated you may get the bad ending here. If you rescued all the
villigers you will fight another boss and then to draculas castle. If you
haven't gotten all the villigers shoanoa will die and you will see which
villigers your missing. Now just pick up the medal and exit via room 0 or use
a magical ticket and save in Wygol Villige
Hard Mode: Yes he has diffirent attacks in hard mode. This is one of a few
bosses that do and as soon as i beat it on a harder then new game + hadicap or
someone emails me on how to beat him in hard mode i will put this in.

Ecclesia part 2
===============
Ready for another boss. He is your teacher Barlowe. Just go back to the room
in the upper right hand corner and you will fight him. And yes no map if you
want a map go to Ecclesia part 1.
Glyphs: Globus
Boss: Barlowe
AP: 0
EXP: 0
HP: 4000
ATK: 75
DEF: 0
MND: 9
Strong: Darkness
Weak: Holy and swords
Recommend equipment is vol luminato, vol umbra, Sapiens Fio in one sleeve.
Then Vol Luminato x 2 on another sleeve. As for armor equip anything that will
boost your INT to the max and equip a diamond ring. With this equip you should
do a good amount of damage per attack with Vol Luminato.
Now this boss can be a tricky boss because of his lightning ball attack that
bounces all over the room. You know when he is casting this attack when he
sends both of his books away and his arms are to the left and right of him.
Then one of his books appers above him and another appers below him, and he is
shrounded by an electric green field. When he does this get the furthest wall
and double jump. You may have to double jump towards the wall depending on how
much time you have. If you see him move start jumping. This ball moves fast
but only bounces once at the furthest wall so this is the easiest place to
dodge it.
His next attack he drops to the floor then holds up a book and that falls to
the floor. Then he raises up and the floor ices over. If you are caught in
this he will send a bolt of electricity at you. This one is pretty easy to
dodge. Right when the book hits the floor double jump to avoid the freezing
floor.
When he is going to shoot out Globus. His book disappears yet again and he
will hold his hands straight out in front of him. Thats when you should start
absorbing the glyph globus. If you dont absorb globus you can try to dodge it
by doing slight jumpbs over the pink balls that bounce around the room.
His next attack he will have his book twirl right above his hand and then alot
of books appear around it and after that the turn to fire balls and shoot at
you. This one you can backdash right before impact, move across the ground or
jump, slide (not recommend) between the fire balls. they track you a little
bit but not much. If you keep moving you should dodge them just fine.
After he looses about half to three quarters of his life he he uses one of the
above and a new attack. When he says "DIE SHONOA!" Your teacher teleports to
the same level you are at. when this happens single jump land then single jump
again for about five times. Then he will do another attack thats stated earlier
and do this attack again.
The best way i found to beat him is do a Union glyph Vol Luminato and Vol
Umbra. With both of these combined with the equipment you should do pretty
decent damage but at a 50 heart cost. I would start using this right away
until i can't use that attack anymore then hit him with Vol Luminato the
remander of the battle. Other then that dodge his attacks and keep stricking
him. Then you will see him die and hear the chest for not getting hit by him
raise up twice, but you will only get one.

P - [Attribute Points]
ATK - [Attack Power]
DEF - [Defence Against Physical Attacks]
MND - [Defence Against Magical Attacks]
1 [Drop 1] [Starting Percentage Drop rarity]
2 [Drop 2] [Starting Percentage Drop rarity]
3 [Drop 3] [Starting Percentage Drop rarity]
Weak/Strn:
[see below]
[desc]
Item Drop Rate is based off of luck by initial drop rate and your luck score
(1 point of luck adds an additional 0.5% rounded down). How this formula works
is 5% for rotten meat from Zombies + 10% for having a luck score of 20.
So 5% + 10% = 15%. Out of 15% of Zombies they should drop rotten meat. Also
This cannot go over 40%. I don't know if this is correct but when I gave my
self 198 + luck i got an item from every monster about 1 out of 3 so the 40% is
a guess.
100% drop rates are done by waiting for the enemy to do a specific attack
(example Necromancer to summon his Zombies) except for Gorgon Heads. They will
always drop a glyph everytime you kill them. You will notice when it is
available when they have either a red circle or a blue circle with a white
design in the middle. The best way to absorb these is hold up before they do
that attack.
Weak/Strong: What they are weak against/what they are strong against
If there is a dash there are strong, weak against nothing
For reference, here's a full list of the different attack types, in order:
B - Hammer F - Fire L - Lightning D - Dark C - Curse
S - Slash I - Ice H - Holy P - Poison E - Earth
Note that monsters 109-121 are all major storyline bosses that can only be
fought once; monster 108, Giant Sksleton, can be found elsewhere, but is also
found as part of a storyline sequence and drops a unique medal as all the
others do.

Frequently Asked Questions
==========================
OK I know I'm going to get an email about this sooner or later so here it goes.
Q. The message boards state that you only need to absorb 15 glyphs to level up
your familiar while you state you need 16. Are you calling them a liar?
A. Yes I am. My first play through i wanted to level up my glyphs as fast as
possible. So i started absorbing the same glyph and kept count. When I hit 15
glyphs and still didn't level up I had to look up why i didn't. Thats when i
found out what the level up for glyphs was. (how many exp they need and the
easier way of leveling up.)
Q. Why does your Glyph section look so crappy?
A. I know it does and i will fix this as soon as possible
Q. The game states that Man Eater is weak against sword attacks while you state
he is weak against hammer attacks.
A. This is a glitch in the game. When you hit Man Eater with a sword he turns
blue meaning he is strong against that weapon. While hitting him with a hammer
he turns red. I curently do not know of anymore monsters that have false
strengths and weaknesses
Q. Why do you only got these questions?
A. Nobody E-Mailed me questions. In fact they haven't even emailed me
about the previous question. So if you do want to email me about any questions
I will put them in here and send you an email back to answer your question, but
please only e-mail me about what I got in this guide so far. So if i get a
question like how do i beat Dracula. You will just have to wait until im
further with this FAQ/Walkthrough. I'm sorry its taking me so long, but I am
hurring as fast as I can.
