1] Introduction
========================================================================

Welcome to the Wild world of Animal Crossing! This is my first FAQ, and
hope
to complete it. I'm glad someone's actually reading it, because that
means
it got accepted. Please enjoy ths FAQ about one of my favorite games,
Animal
Crossing:Wild world!

[Oh and by the way,sorry for the short intro, but who like reading these
anyway?]

2] Controls
========================================================================

Basic Controls:

A: Talk to Animals, Select an option, interact with furniture.
B: Hold to run, Press during conversation to speed up, Press during
option
to
choose "no".
Y: Brings up Menu.
X:Brings up Town map.
Start: Brings up "Would you like to save and quit?" menu.
Select: Brings up chat function.
Directional Pad: Used to move around, move furniture, move through
menus.
Power: Shut down DS.
R and L: Can be used instead of B to run.
Mic: Doesn't Serve any function.

3] Getting started
========================================================================

When you first boot up this game, you will be greeted to the
childlike voice saying "nintendo", and nintendos copyright.
Then you will go to the title screen, where you will be asked
"You came to play did you?" tap the screen, and this menu will come up:

Continue - Well you can't, because you havent even started!
New resident - Create a new character to live in your town.
Tag mode - This will be explained later.
Other things - Click this, and the following options pop out:
Rebuild town - Erase your current town, and make a new one.
Erase Resident - Self explanitory, Delete a Character.
Immigration- Will be explained later.
Wi-Fi settings- will be explained later.

So after youre done looking through the menus, click "New resident"
and begin your life anew!

4] Car ride With Kapp'n
========================================================================
When you first look unto the screen, you will see Kappn' driving through
the
rain, and you will be looking through a first person view.

Kapp'n will ask you What time and date it is, input them and click
Confirm.

When Kapp'n asks you about the rain, You can either reply:
-Yeah it stinks.
-I'm fine...

He will then tell you he never got your name, So type in your name now.
He will the ask you if your fond of your name, if you reply:

-Yup, it's Burly!
(You will be a boy)
-Yeah, it's cute!
(You will be a Girl)
-That's not it.
(You will re-enter your name)

Kapp'n will then ask you what is the name of the town you're going to.
Input the name, and click confirm. Then, Kapp'n will ask you why youre
going to "Town Name" You can say:

-I'm moving.
-Butt out!

And finally, Kappn will ask you whether you have any money to get
started
on
your own, you can reply:

-Yup.
-Maybe...

And finally, after the car ride, the rain will let down,you will step
out
of
the car and walk into the town hall.

5] Nook's Part Time Job.
========================================================================

You will now be in the town where you will be greeted by Pelly,
(or Phyllis, depending on what time of day it is.) Where she will ask
what she can do for you, you can reply:

-I moved in!
-I came in by cab!

I dont know what difference it makes on what you choose, but i think
Pelly just says something different with each option. Afterwards Pelly
will pull up a map of  your Town, and will mark where your house is.
Pelly will then ask you if you know  how to use your map, you can
reply "What?", if you dont know how,or "Yup." if you want to skip
the mini-tutorial.

To pull out your map, tap the green arrow icon in the top right, and
then tap  the green house icon, or you can do the faster way, which
is just pressing X.

Find your house and walk in. it should be pretty empty right now.
To your right, go up the stairs. There will be a bed and a phone.
The bed is for saving, (Just lay down on it) and the phone has
certain settings. Go back outside, and you will be greeted by Tom
nook, your towns shop owner. He will tell you about your houses debt,
and that you need to go work part time at his shop.So, head over to
his shop.

Nooks part time job simplified:

-Change into the chothes he gives you.
( Y, drag and drop on your character.)

-Plant all of the Tree's and flowers he gives you.
(It does'nt need to be around his shop, it can be anywhere)

- Talk to everyone in the village.
(This means everyone! The mayor will be in front of the town hall, and
make
sure to keep talking to everyone until they ask you about their
Birthday,
only then, will Tom Nook allow you to move onto the next job.)

-You will now deliver Furniture to a resident in town.
(simple enough, you will get a random piece of furniture from the
resident
after you give them the delivery, and a brief explanation on furniture.)

-You have to send a ketter to a selected resident in town.
(Tom nook will provide the stationery, you can write anything, just make
sure its to the right animal. Afterwards, Go to the town hall and mail
it.)

-You will now deliver a carpet.
(simple enough, you will get a random carpet from the resident after
you give them the delivery, and a brief explanation on carpets)

-Deliver a watering can to the animal whom you mailed the letter to
earlier.
(You don't get anything for this one, except a brief explanation on
letters.)

-You will now be obliged to post a advertisment on the bulletin board
outside of the town hall.
(Does'nt matter what you write, As long as you write
something.)

After You complete your job, Nook will deduct 1,400 bells from your
debt,
and  you will now be free to do what you want!

7] Town Gate
Looks like: A big arch at the top of your town.
Description: Here, is where Copper and Booker hang out. Copper takes
care of Wi-Fi settings, while Booker acts as the "police station".

Copper:
-I wanna go out!
( If you want to visit a friend in another town, either by Wi-Fi,or
another
DS, Go here, and Copper will run you through the procedures.)

-Invite guests!
( If you want to a friend to visit your town, either by Wi-Fi, or
another
DS, Go here, and Copper will run you through the procedures.)

-Friend code!
(If you want to know your personal friend code, go here, and Copper
will issue you a friend code.)

-Where am I?
(Copper will breifly explain the town gates features.)

-Oh nothing.
(Exit the menu.)

Booker:
-Whats new?
(Booker will tell you the visitors currently, or coming to your town.)

-Something lost?
(If something is in the lost and found, Booker will bring up a menu of
the current items allowed to be taken, and will let you keep whatevers
there,free of charge!)

-Change flag
(Self-explanitory, Change the current flag to a pattern of your choice.)

-Where am I?
(Booker will breifly explain what each of the above options do.)

-Nothing.
(Exit the menu.)

8] Town Hall
Looks like: Big, brown Building with a clock.
Description: Here, you can mail letters, pay off your debt, its like
the post office in the GCN version, and the dump combined.
========================================================================
Your towns Civic center (Left window):

-The enviroment!
(A status on your town, like if it needs more trees, less stumps, etc.)

-Town tunes.
(Change your town's tune, the jingle that plays whenever you walk into a
building or talk to someone.)

-Donations
(Donate bells to the Grilled dirt eating town of Boondox! Apparently,
these
poor  souls need bells to survive, wouldnt you liek to help them out? Of
course,  you're bells won't go to waste, you get feathers depending on
how
much you  donate.Here is a list of how much you need to donate to attain
certain rewards:

Green Feather   Donate 10,000 Bells
Blue Feather    Donate 200,000 Bells
Yellow Feather  Donate 500,000 Bells
Red Feather     Donate 800,000 Bells
Purple Feather  Donate 1,100,000 Bells
White Feather   Donate 1,400,000 Bells
Rainbow Feather Donate 6,400,000 Bells

-Moving
(If you would like to move to a friends memory card, select moving, and
then
have your friend click immigration in the title screens menu, and your
character will move to the other card.)

NOTE: If you move, you do not get to keep your tape deck, or items in
your
drawers/cabinets, you also lose your wi-fi settings, but you get to keep
your friend roster, although they have to re-register you under a new
Friend
code. You also cant do this online, it must be DS to DS.

Your towns Post office (right window):

-Mail a letter
(Self-explanatory, mail a letter to a resident of your town.)

-Pay mortgage
(Pay off your Debt to Tom Nook.)

-Acess Account
(Withdraw or deposit bells into your savings.)

-Save a letter
(Have a memorable letter? Want to cherish it forever? Well then, you can
save up to 75 letters in here, if you want to save items as well, attach
an
item to each letter and you can hold up to 75 items!)

-uh, never mind
(Exit the Menu)

Recycling Pickup:
(This acts as the dump, where you can find items other animals
have thrown away, and throw away items you don't need.)

9] Museum
Looks like: Giant, white building with columns.
Description: The museum where you can donate fish,fossils,bugs and
paintings, as well as make constellations, and visit the cafe.
========================================================================

Blathers:
-Donation!
(Donate a fossil, fish, Insect, or painting to the museum, just make
sure
it
is'nt already in the museum!)

-Check a fossil!
(Unlike the GCN version, you don't have to send your fossil to the far-
away
museum to have it identified, Blathers can do it for you now. If you
give
him
an unidentified fossil in the donation option, he can check for you
there
too.)

-Exhibits!
(Blathers will show you a list of everything currently in your museum.)

-Where am I?
(Blathers will give you a brief explanation of everything in the
museum.)

10] Coffee Shop & Observatory
Description: Located inside the museum, the coffee shop has a sign right
before you enter (you can't miss it.) and the obsevatory is located on
the
stairs to the left of the clock behind blathers.
========================================================================

Coffee Shop:
There isn't much to do here, you can buy a cup of coffee for 200 bells
from
Brewster the green pidgeon, which doesn't really do anything but
hightens
your friendship with him, so that he'll talk more.
========================================================================
NOTE: Supposedly, if you drink your coffe hot, and do not wait for it to
cool down, it makes brewster open up faster.
========================================================================
Although on saturdays, you can come here and watch K.K. Slider perform
from 8 to 11pm.

Observatory:
Celeste:

-Where am I?
(Celeste will tell you the story about blathers and her discounted star
chart,
as well as tell you, you need to help her make new constellations.)

-You're cute!
(Celeste will get nervous, and oblige you to look the telescope, really
just
a poke at fun.)

-Nope! See ya!
(exit the menu.)

Telescope:

-Constellations!
(Here, you can make a new constellation, or change an existing one
[whichever
option you choose]. Making a constellation is rather easy,  just tap a
star,
and  blue lines will come out of it, click one of the blue lines, and it
will be part of constellation, then more blue lines will come out.
Repeat
process as many times as desired to  make the shape of the
constellations.)

-Stargazing!
(Simple, just look at the constellations currently made, nothing
special.)

-Erasing!
(Self Explanitory, Erase any current constellations you have.)

-Nothing!

11] Tom Nooks Shop
Looks like: Different at each level, you CANNOT miss it, since you have
to go there for your part time job.
Description: The store where you can buy,sell, and view your catalog.
========================================================================

Tom Nook:

-I want to sell!
(Sell belongings in your inventory for a varied price.)

-Catalog, please!
(View your catalog, Your catalog is used to order items you already
have.
Basically, if you ever put it into your inventory, you can get another
copy
of it.Although , there are some items you can't order, like Gyroids and
Fossils.)

-Turnip Prices!
(Nook will tell you the prices he is buying turnips from Joan.)

-Nothing Really.
(exit the menu.)

12] Nooks Upgrades
========================================================================
-As you may know, Tom Nook upgrades his house whever he attains enough
bells
from your purchases, and is able to hold more and more items with each
upgrade.
When he reaches the 4th upgrade, Nookingtons, A poodle named Hariet will
change the color and style of your hair based on a series of
Questions.But
to get  to nookingtons, and to the other shop upgrades, you must spend a
number of bells,

13) Able Sisters Shop

Mable:

-I want to design!
(This option lets you create a pattern to use, [umbrellas shirts,
wallpaper,
etc.] but materials are 350 bells, and you can only keep 8 designs
total.
[Don't worry, you have 4 blank ones from the start.])
-Designing is rather easy, just select the pallette, use the tools, and
attern away! Afterwards, mable will ask you what was your motivation
with
the pattern,  does'nt matter what you chose, she'll just "uh huh, i
see."
then, Mable will ask you to name your pattern. Done, easy huh?

-I want to sell!
(Since Nook doesnt buy accesories or Hats, youll have to sell them to
Mable
here)

-You tell me!
(Mable will give you a brief tutorial on how to equip your designs, and
other
things)

-Nothing...
(exit the menu.)

14)Events
========================================================================
Now to cover the holidays of the year! Now keep in mind, Halloween,
Christmas, and Thanksgiving were removed to make the game "Universal"
Pssh, whatever, onto the holidays!

January 1 - New Year's Day
========================================================================
-Check your mailbox, You're mom will have mailed you 10,000 bells.
-Talk to the mayor, He'll give you your fortune. (Not as in bells, as in
your
future!)

========================================================================
2nd Saturday of Every month - La-Di-Day
========================================================================
-Today, every Animal in your town will compete for chaging the town
tune.
I'm not sure what time it starts, I need that piece of info.

========================================================================
4th Sunday of Every month -Yay Day!
========================================================================
-All day today, your villagers will say nice things about you when you
talk
to them.
After they compliment you, a menu will come up, and you can compliment
them
by typing something in! (it really doesnt matter what you type :P)

========================================================================
1st Saturday of Every month (except January & August)-Flea market
========================================================================

-Today, you can sell things in your house to the villagers, or buy
things
from the  Villagers houses! Heres how it works, if you wait inside your
house, in a little while, villagers will come into your house and look
around. After a villager walks around,if they stop and look at one
furniture
for a while, they want to buy it. Talk to them, and haggle a price.

-If you want to buy furniture from the other villagers, go to a
villagers
house,talk to the villager, and the number of bells you have should pop
out.

NOTE: Make sure to have good number of bells with you, or the
villagers won't want to sell you anything,
========================================================================
Just move up to a piece of furniture, and then tap the furniture, and
the
villager will give you a price.

2nd Week of February-Bright Nights
========================================================================
-Nothing special, When it gets dark, the villagers will hang up lights
all
around their house, and you can talk to the mayor and say which one is
the
best. You dont really get anything for this really.

3rd & 4th Sunday of Certain months - Fishing tourney (12-6pm)
========================================================================
-Okay let me clear this up, the title doesn't mean that both the 3rd &
4th sunday of each month will have a tourney, it varies for each month,
heres how:

3rd Sunday:
January
March
May
November
December

4th sunday:
February
April
October

Now thats cleared up, let me remind you that these are the ONLY months
with this event, June, July, August, don't have it.
-To start off the event, go talk to tortimer, who will give you a
fishing rod if you don't have one in your inventory.

NOTE: If you give a Fish to tortimer for judging, He gets to keep it!
Meaning, don't give away a rare fish, just so you can win the
Competition! (unless you already have it in your museum.)
========================================================================
-Now there are 2 prizes, One for beating your personal best, and the
second is for beating everyones record by 6 pm.

Recently, I recived from info from neitnart stating that when you win
the fishing tourney, (whether it be your personal best or overall,you
get a random piece of furniture.

-Your trophy comes in the mail the next day if you win overall.

gates. nNo villagers will be able to fish, Therefore, you will win!

2nd Week of April - Flower Fest
========================================================================

-Just another one of those, "holidays without a prize or purpose".
All week, your non-fruit trees will turn pink, (cherry blossoms) and all
of
the villagers will  plant flowers around their houses.
-Talk to Tortimer, and he'll tell you your "birth flower", like a
birthstone, but with a flower!

3rd Sunday of June, July, August, & September - The Bug Off 12 to 6pm
=====================================================

-To start off the event, go talk to tortimer, who will give you a Net if
you
don't have one in your inventory.

NOTE: If you give a Bug to tortimer for judging, He gets to keep it!
Meaning, don't give away a rare bug, just so you can win the
Competition! (unless you already have it in your museum.)
================================================
-Now there are 2 prizes, (which i currently don't know what are,) one,
for beating your personal best, and the second is for beating everyones
record by 6 pm.

Every Saturday of August - Fireworks Show  7-12pm
==================================================

-Just a fun event, i love seeing the pixelated fireworks on the top
screen,
and the flashes from them on the bottom!
-Talk to tortimer, he'll give you a sparkler, which you can equip and
set
off! and when your sparkler dies, talk to tortimer and he'll give you
another one!

2nd Week of October - Acorn Festival
========================================================================

-Tortimer, will now wear an acorn on his head and will call himself
Cornimer,weird huh?
-Your job is to Collect acorns and bring them to tortimer, there are a
number of acorns you need to collect.(it changes each day.) There are 4
types of Acorns,Acorns, Round Acorns, Small acorns, and Rotten acorns.

NOTE: UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, DO NOT GIVE CORNIMER
A ROTTEN ACORN! He will then take ALL of your acorns, and you'll
have to find all again, so, you'll have to save and quit.
========================================================================
-if you bring Cornimer all of the acorns in your town, he will reward
you
with part of the Mush set:

31st of December - CountDown 12-6am
========================================================================
-Countdowns are always fun right? During this day, the countdown clock
will be infront of the town hall all day, well, counting down!
-When the countdown reaches 0, a quick tune will play, the music will
change, and fireworks will go off until 6am! Yay!, Happy new year!

15] Tools
========================================================================

There are various tools in the game to help you make,and create your
town. Heres the list of all normal tools:

Name: Axe
How to obtain: Buy from nook.
Use: Use to cut down trees. Can be used to hit money rock.
Breaks after a certain number of uses.

Name: Fishing Rod
How to obtain: Buy from nook.
Use: Used to capture fish from water.

Name: Net
How to obtain: Buy from nook.
Use: Used to capture bugs.

Name: Shovel
How to obtain: Buy from nook.
Use: Dig up/out things. Bury things. Can be used to hit money rock.

Name: Slingshot
How to obtain: Buy from nook.
Use: Use to shoot items out of the sky.

Name: Sparkler
How to obtain: Get from tortimer on the Fireworks show on every
Saturday in August from 7-12pm.
Use: Just equip it, and it will sparkle, your characters mouth will
open in amazement! After it dies, talk to Tortimer, and get another
one!

Name: Watering Can
How to obtain: Buy from nook.
Use: Water on plants to prevent them from dying.

Golden Tools
=============

Name: Golden Axe
How to obtain:
The scallop is used to get the golden axe from Pascal. Pascal walks
around by thebeach at a random time, once a week. First, you need to
buy a red turnip from Joan.Next, give it to Wendel the next time he
comes to town. Wendel should give you the Turban or Country Guitar.
If you get the Turban, take it to Sahara whenshe comes to town.
Sahara should give you either the Massage Chair or Red Vase. If you
get the Massage Chair, let Tortimer have it the next holiday and he
should give you the scallop. Then just wait for Pascal to show up and
give him the scallop.

Use: Use to cut down trees. Can be used to hit money rock.
Unlike the normal Axe, it does NOT break.


Name: Golden Fishing Rod
How to obtain: Catch one of every fish at least once.
Use: Make it easier to catch fish by reducing the time it takes to pull
in a fish on the hook.

Name: Golden Net
How to obtain: Catch one of every Bug at least once.
Use: Special larger, net that makes it easier to catch bugs.

Name: Golden Shovel
How to obtain: Bury a normal shovel for 24 hours, then dig it up.
Use: Nothing special, you should now be able to plant money trees.

Name: Golden Slingshot
How to obtain: Shoot 15 items out of the sky, the 16th will be the
golden Slingshot.
Use: Shoots 3 bullets instead of 1.

Name: Golden Watering can.
How to obtain: Keep the environment perfect for 16 days in a row.
Pelly or Phyllis will reward you with the golden can.

Use: Its not different from the normal one, but it's a great show-off
item.

16] Gardening
========================================================================

One of the most fun, moneymaking part of your town is gardening,
meaning, fruits and flowers.

Native Fruit-
This is the fruit you start off with in your town.
Only sells for 100 bells, but if you take it to your friends town, and
they have a different native fruit, Your fruit will sell for 500 in
their Nooks.

Foreign Fruit-
Any fruit you get from a friends town, in the mail, basically any fruit
that isnt your native fruit.
Instead of selling this fruit for 500 bells in your Nooks, plant it,
so in a couple of days youll have 3! Keep planting the fruits and soon
you'll be rolling the bells.

Coconuts-
Coconuts are the only "special" fruit. They aren't found in the mail or
native to ANY town, they only wash up on shore sometimes.
Another special condition with this fruit is that it must be planted
close to the ocean.

NOTE: Some misunderstand by what "Close to the ocean means,
It can't be planted on the sand, it must be planted within
10 spaces from the LOWEST part of the sand, or 9 spaces from
the HIGHEST part of the sand.
============================================================

Flowers-
Flowers are a bit more "real" this time around in AC, they can be picked
up and be put in your inventory,  and then be planted somewhere else.
Flowers also "wither" or die after 2 to 3 days.
Use your watering can to make them alive again the next day.
============================================================
NOTE: If a plant is withered and you press B to put it into
your inventory, you will instead pull it out like a weed
anstead of putting it into your inventory.
============================================================

Weeds-
Weeds appear every day and are llok like 2 pieces of grass sticking out
of the ground. Press B to pull them out. If you ever see a Giant red
flower (its called a Rafflesia) in your town, it means you have WAY TOO
MANY weeds in your town. You have to pull out every single weed to get
rid of it.

Here are some of the most FAQ's ive seen asked on the Message boards, so
I'll answer them now.

Q) Is Wisp the Ghost in this game?
A) No he's not.

Q) What is the answer to Redds Password *insert name here*?
A) If you wanna find the answer, go talk to your villagers, one of them
is
SURE
to have it, the first thing they should talk about is the password.

Q) Is there a way to get rid of this big red flower?
A) Yes, its called a Rafflesia, and can only be removed if you pick up
all of the weeds in your town.

Q) What is NOT in this game that the GCN version had?

A) Well there are multiple ways, but one that is often overlooked from
the start of the game is selling appraised fossils that aren't in
your museum. Depends on what you tthink is more important, completing
your museum, or completing your house.
