This game casts the protagonist as Miles Edgeworth, the prosecutor, rather
than Phoenix Wright, the defense attorney. Some of the mechanics will also be
different, namely there are no psyche-locks or (from Apollo Justice) perceive
moments. Notes about new mechanics:

• LOGIC: Phoenix Wright used psyche-locks, Apollo Justice used perception to
  find tells, and Edgeworth uses cold, steely logic. When inspecting objects,
  he may acquire threads of logic -- these go into their own folder. From that
  folder, one may combine two related pieces to advance the plot and/or make
  new logic. All pieces of logic will be used eventually, and if one's already
  examined everything, correctly pairing those threads is likely what needs to
  be done.

• PARTNERS: As the cases go on, some characters will tag along with Miles in
  a subordinate kind of way. Using the partner button will allow one to talk
  with them and perhaps gain hints. (In other words, it's similar to how
  speaking to Maya at the law office functioned in the Phoenix Wright games.)

• CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATIONS: This isn't a purely point-and-click game; Miles
  will manually move through crime scenes and areas of interest to gain his
  clues. One can control movement through the d-pad or using the on-screen
  navigation buttons.

• ITEM INSPECTION: This spinoff series resurrects 3D inspection of items --
  it's done by going into the inventory and hitting the 'check' button. Miles
  can find interesting new clues by rotating the items to inspect nooks and
  crannies. (Not all objects can be checked in this manner.)

• DEDUCING: At certain times in the investigation, Edgeworth will be able to
  find contradictions through inspection. To do this: (1) find the area with
  the deduce button (2) highlight the contradictory area (3) use the deduce
  button on the given spot (4) present evidence. If the spot/evidence aren't
  correct, the deduction fails.

• HEALTH BAR: This is the, uh, 'health' of Edgeworth. Each time he presents
  wrong evidence, combines logic incorrectly or makes a fool of himself in
  rebuttals, he loses a small amount of life. If all the life's gone, that's
  game over, man! Game over! But, considering his health is refilled to full
  with each successful investigation, and this very walkthrough's correct
  answers, losing should never happen.

[Q] - Do I have to play the cases in order?
[A] - Yes. There's five total; completing any particular one allows it to be
      replayed. "Unlock progress" is not overwritten by replays either. In
      other words, if someone completed all cases, then replayed the first,
      cases 2-5 wouldn't be locked again.

[Q] - I can't figure out how to proceed!
[A] - Oftentimes, if all evidence has been collected, one must put strands of
      logic together. The case automatically moves along when everything's
      done, so this is often the most basic holdup.

[Q] - I found an error!
[A] - You can send it in to my email and I'll correct it. However, I checked
      things rather thoroughly, so I doubt I'll get any in this regard. =)

[Q] - What's a Yatagarasu?
[A] - It's a tripedal crow from Asian mythology.
