1 Introduction.
--------------
Treasure Strike is, if you don't know, a Japanese only game for
the Sega Dreamcast, released in 2000. It is quite similar to
Powerstone 2 in format, although the gameplay is very different. It
is your job, as Treasure Hunter, to find treasure in miscellaneous
places such as temples, pirate islands and Tron-like pyramids. You
compete between 1 to 3 opponents to find the most valuable (in
theory) treasure and escape with it.
I have written one FAQ before this one, Tokyo Bus Route. Like my
first faq, this will not be a complete walkthrough of the game (if
that would be possible) but is just a simple tool to get you started
in the game, it took me hours of playing around to even create my
own character.
The Next Version will include a Levels guide and a piece on unlocking
stuff in multiplayer if I figure it out.

Options ------- Can't figure out what each option does, sorry.
When you start a new game you will be able design your character, you
can select gender, posture, hair, eyes e.t.c. and later you can also
edit the superficial parts again, hair type and colour and also
change clothes, loading a game will load up your saved game to the
main menu, you can only have one saved game (per VMU, I suppose).
4. Character Make
------------------
Please note that the top option on most of these menus, throughout
the game, will be back (it's the bottom option in town, though)

After this is done you will see a short introduction (well the rest
of it actually) and then find yourself in the town.
The first time you enter town, the only place you can go is the
Temple, no other options are available.
5. Town
--------
Town is a system of menus to do what you want, buy, sell, and e.t.c.
There are no townsfolk to ramble on to, demons what've taken over
the castle with some useful armour at the other end or Mayors to go
on quests for (A breath of fresh air, I think)!

I don't know if it is a temple but to me it looks like one,
anyway, the guy here is who you have to talk to when you want to go
on an expedition

7. Stores
----------
In the store you can buy weapons and sell weapons or
treasure. It doesn't appear until you have been on your first
expedition, you don't need it anyway, you have no cash or treasure

8. Mechanics
-------------
The mechanic upgrades your weapons and his sister (?) does
something with treasure, I can't figure out what, exactly because
nothing ever seems to happen but It could be like the Powerstone 2
weapon mixing thing. Whatever it does you need two pieces of treasure
for it, it gives you them back and takes 100gp from you!

9. Boutique
------------
The Boutique is used to change the appearance of your character, it
gives you more hairstyles to choose from than the Character Make and
lets you add clothes, hats, glasses, belts and shoes.
Most of the clothes menus (i.e. trousers) have multiple options, from
the trousers menu, click on a pair you want to try (remembering the
top one is back) and then you will be given a list of ten colours
that the design comes in.

10. Bar
--------
Sometimes you want to go where everyone knows your name, and this
would be the place... If you understood Japanese! (I'm assuming you
don't because you wouldn't have a problem with the game that I could
help you with if you could) Every now and again when you visit,
someone will tell you something, maybe hints and tips, maybe the best
place to look for certain items, maybe that there won't be an English
version!!! This place has no use as far as I know.
11. Playing the game
---------------------
If you haven't read the ingame controls, I recommend you do that now,
even if you have played a game already, you may learn something new.
The winner of a game is the person who gets out of the maze, and into
their safe room with the Main treasure item. You will have between
one and three opponents to fight against.
11a. Safe Room
A Safe Room is the room that you are safe from attackers, you can
secure any treasure you have on your person, heal yourself and stock
up on ammo. You start the game leaving your Safe Room and can go
back there at any time. No enemy can go into your Safe Room just as
you cannot go in theirs. If during the healing process you need to
get back out quickly you can press A and leave prematurly. When you
lose all your health, you will drop everything you had and respawn
there.
11b. Treasure Chest
Now, these are where you find the treasure (duh!) and to open them
press both collar buttons together, you need to be right infront of
the side with the lock on. Treasure Chest come in three types:
Type | Colours
--------------+----------------------------------------------
Brown | Brown(!?)
Coloured | Red, Blue, Yellow
Multicoloured | Red and Blue, Red and Yellow, Blue and Yellow
Brown ones will always open, coloured ones will open if you have the
corresponding coloured key and multicoloured chests (TeeHeeHee,
chest) will only open if you have BOTH coloured keys for it.
11c. Keys
Keys are found dotted about the level, for two or three player games,
there are three keys (one of each colour) but for four player games
there are six.
11d. Main Treasure
You will know you have opened the treasure chest with the main
treasure in it because there will be a whoosh! noise (very technical,
I know) and a column of light. get ready to run for your Safe Room
when you pick it up because your screen will flash red and an alarm
will sound, and lucky you, it will for everybody else as well. Main
Treasure are always in multicoloured chests.
11e. Dropping Things
If you get hit, you may drop an item you are carrying, which is where
the fun and anger come into this game. You will drop items in this
order:
1. Main Treasure
2. Key (One at a time)
5. Treasure (all at once)
When you get KO'd you will drop everything.
11e. Minimap
The Minimap can be hidden or shown with the Y button. Land appears
in a dark blue, chests are yellow dots, keys are red dots and enemy
(and yourself) appear as large flashing yellow dots. Treasure that
has been discarded or lost appears as a blue dot. Where there is no
terrain is green.
