Quick Select is a new feature for PSO v2. What it does is allow you to quickly
select items (hence the name) or traps for Androids (more on this in the
Characters section). Simply press the R-Trigger + the Y Button, and a screen
will pop-up. Now use the R-Trigger to toggle the item lists until you find
what you want, then select it with the A Button to use it. Rather useful, indeed.
===============================================================================
02. Getting Started
===============================================================================
When you begin your quest, you will be presented a menu whenever you press
the start button. Here's a basic rundown (thanks to OrochiJin for the info):

2. Items – Use an item, drop an item (quantity to drop) and sort.
3. Mag – Feed Mag, see photon blasts, drop Mag.

5. Quest Board – Shows current quest and status. For instance, if
asked to gather five items, this will show how many items you
have collected and which ones.
Customize
You will be presented with 3 icons, each corresponds to an action
Button (X,A,B). Selecting one will present you with a menu to choose
from including attacks, spells and items. Pressing the R button will
give you another row of action buttons to do the same with. When in
game, hold R to bring this back row of icons to front so you can use
them.

Displays all techniques and allows you to cast them. Also lists
spell level and TP usage.
Chat
1. Shortcut – Set preset words and sentences as well as symbol chats
to predefined keys on keyboard/D-Pad.

doozies can be made with this.

3. Guild Card – Edit your Guild Card or send it to someone. Card

search for each person. Search Results allows you to see if they

transport directly to them.
4. Simple Mail – send and receive small mail messages to friends no
matter if they are in a game or the lobby.
5. Log Window – Show a chat window on the left side.

=== 002 - Getting Online ===
============================
HUNTER'S LICENSE
------------------
To play online in PSO v2, you will need to purchase a Hunter's License. They
cost $15.00 for 90 days of online gameplay. The only major credit cards that
are accepted are VISA and MASTER CARD. Go to this address to purchase a Hunter's
License:
https://www.dricas.com/pso/us/signup.html (yes, that's an "s" after http)
FREE ISPs (Internet Service Providers)
---------------------------------------
The following Bluelight ISPs are provided by Dreamcastfun.com, and should work
like a charm to get you online for free:
NOTE: For the Phone Numbers, simply go to the following address to get your local
access number(s):
http://www.bluelight.com/freeinternet/localaccess.jhtml
Username: 004pbreguser@spinwaysignup
Password: 4ml8WWH
Access number: <YOURS>
DNS1: 255.255.255.255
DNS2: 255.255.255.255
*The password/username is case sensitive so be sure you have entered everything
correctly. If you are have trouble getting that to work, try using all dialup
numbers given to you. If that still doesn't work try this:
Username: 004briannaxxx@mpspinway
Password: 4ml8WWHWYQ
Access number: <YOURS>
DNS1: 255.255.255.255
DNS2: 255.255.255.255
Of course, if those don't work, you could always sign up for Seganet's service
(now Earthlink/Mindspring) for $21.99 a month. :)

TRANSFERING OLD CHARACTERS:
------------------------------
If you have a character from PSO v1, you can convert it to PSO v2. Beware, once
you convert this character, you cannot use it for PSO v1 anymore (although
some people say you can in the US version). Also, upon conversion, illegal
items (Gamesharked items) will be deleted, and any illegal attributes will be
adjusted. Nyah at cheaters!
===============================================================================
03. Online World
===============================================================================
SHIPS:
---------
When you first get online, you will be prompted to select a ship/block. Each
ship is divided into 16 blocks, making it easier for many people to spread
out in this large online world. Simply select a ship and block to enter a
visual lobby.
VISUAL LOBBIES:
----------------
When you enter a visual lobby, you will most likely see other players. Players
whose names are in white are PSO v1 players, and names that are in yellow are
PSO v2 players. From here, you can do a few things:
Lobby Soccer - Lobbies 11-15 are developed for Lobby Soccer, where you can
kick around random soccer balls into your specific goal. Good
fun, if not a bit laggy at most times.
Join a Team - With this option, you can either join someone's team that has an
opening (you may need a password though), or create your own team.
CREATING A TEAM:
------------------
Team Name ............. Input a name for your team.
Password .............. Set a password to limit access to your team.
Modes ................. Select a mode:
- OFF: Normal mode for online mode
- BATTLE: Set on/off to enable/disable friendly fire
damage.
- CHALLENGE: The mode where the team explores the
multi-level dungeons. Cooperate well with
your team members and reach the deepest
level. If you clear the deepest level of
the dungeon, you can play the next dungeon.
No difficulty level here.
Difficulty ............ Set a difficulty level:
- NORMAL (All levels)
- HARD (Levels 20+)
- VERY HARD (Levels 40+)
- ULTIMATE MODE (Levels 80+, version 2 only)

MAG EVOLUTION
---------------
Just like in PSO v1, your mag will evolve every once in a while (that is, if it's
a new mag), but it still won't go past level 200. If it's a new mag, it'll evolve
at the following levels, and gain a new photon blast:
- Level 10
- Level 35
- Level 50
It will also evolve over level 50 if one attribute rises above another attribute.
PHOTON BLASTS
--------------
Here's a list of what mags get which PB (Photon Blast):
Leilla: Vritra.
Farla: Ravana, Ribhava, Varuna.
Estlla: Apsaras, Andhaka, Bana, Kalki, Durga, Nandin, and Soma.
Philla: Ashvinau, Kama, Sita, Bhirava, Marica, Marutah, Mitra, and Garuda.
Mylla & Youlla: Ila, Vayu, Kabanda, Kaitabha, Tapas, Naga, Namuci, and Madhu.
Golla: Varaha, Ushasu, Kumara, Sumba, Surya, Naraka, Yaksa, and Rudra.
HOW TO EVOLVE MAGS
---------------------
The following chart lists how to breed a specific mag. You need specific IDs for
each kind:
Type "A" Section ID: VIRIDIA, SKYLY, PURPLENUM, REDRIA, YELLOWBOZE
Type "B" Section ID: GREENILE, BLUEFULL, PINKAL, ORAN, WHITILL
And since I'm incredibly lazy, I'll just use noZedive13's mag lise. All credit

FEEDING YOUR MAG
-------------------
There are 4 different stats that you will be raising your MAG with:
- POW (Power, ATP)
- DEF (Defense)
- DEX (Accuracy, ATA)
- MIND (Mind, TP)

Here's a breakdown of each stat from OrochiJin:
For every 1 DEF, your defense goes up by 1.
For every 1 POW, your ATP goes up by 2.
For every 2 DEX, your ATA goes up by 1.
For every 1 MIND, your TP goes up by 2 and your MST goes up by 2.
You'll also notice the two following:
Synch – The higher it is, the easier it is to fill the Photon B. meter.
IQ – The higher it is, the better the chance your MAG will cast a few
offense/defense spells on you before a boss fight. Chance of
invincibility too.
POWERING UP YOUR MAG:
-----------------------
The items next to each MAG attribute are what items that RAISE that
attribute, not lower. Some items raise that specific attribute a lot,
while some only raise that specific attribute by a small margin. It all
depends on what kind of MAG you have, and what it likes. Experiment for
best results.

-------------------
----- TACTICS -----
-------------------
NORMAL/HARD/VERY HARD ENEMIES:
--------------------------------
¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸__.-» Forest «-.__¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸
Barbarous Wolf: Slow and easy to kill, unlike a real wolf. They circle around
you until they get behind you, then they'll leap at you when
your back is turned, so try not to get stuck in that situation.
Booma: The "normal" bear-like enemy of the forest, and the first enemy you'll
encounter. Booma's are slow and weak, so they should prove no challenge
whatsoever.
Gigobooma: The largest of the Booma family, Gigobooma is larger than both the
Booma and Gobooma, and purplish in color. They're a bit faster than
the rest of the Booma family, and slightly stronger, but that's it.
Gobooma: The middle-member of the Booma family, the Gobooma is weaker than the
Gigobooma, but stronger than the Booma. It's light-brown in color, so
it's easy to identify. Gobooma's are still pretty weak and slow, so
just kill them as fast as you can to avoid becoming bored with them.
Hildebear: Even though these guys are HUGE, the only strong parts of them are
their swipes when you get up close, and their giant-leap at you from
far away. Either pick them off from afar with a rifle, or attack them
quickly up-close to kill them before they attack you.
Monest: Annoying mother of Mothmants, these things don't do damage themselves, but
will shoot out Mothmants as long as it's still living, so it's best to
just kill it as fast as possible, then focus on the Mothmants.
Mothmant: Small, weak, and annoying. That best describes Mothmants, which are
basically weak mosquitos. They fly in the air and hover around you
as they peck at you from afar. Easy to kill with a gun, rather than
a sword-type weapon.
Rag Rappy: Small, chicken-like "beasts". These things are plain annoying. They're
easy to kill, and aren't powerful, since their main attack is a tiny
peck, but after you think you've killed one, it lays on the ground
for a few minutes before getting up and running off. Try to attack it
as it gets back up to get an item/meseta.
Savage Wolf: A stronger version of the Barbarous Wolf, and more purplish in
color, these guys aren't much faster, but are a bit stronger than
Barbarous Wolves. Their attacking technique is the same as their
kin, so don't let them get behind you often.
¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸__.-» Caves «-.__¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸¸
Evil Shark: These are the "normal" type enemies in the Caves, and resemble the
Boomas from the Forest, only these guys are faster and stronger.
They're still pretty slow and weak, and will swipe at you with their
large bladed arms.
Guil Shark: The daddy of the Shark-family, these guys are larger, faster, and
stronger than both the Pal and Evil Shark, and are greenish-purple
in color. Try to kill them from afar with a gun before they get up-
close, in which case they can do some serious damage if you let them.
Pal Shark: The middle-monster in the Shark family, the Pal Shark is stronger than
the Evil Shark but weaker and slower than the Guil Shark, although
not by much. Use the same tactics you've used for the other sharks,
and you'll be fine.
Poison Lily: Non-moving flowers that spit random poison at you from a distance.
Very weak and slow, attack from wherever you feel most comfortable,
since they're easy to kill.
Grass Assassin: These giant monsters look like big preying mantis', and are
slow and weak. The only time when they're fast is when they
charge at you, but this attack is easy to dodge. Don't get too
close to them or else they'll freeze your legs to the ground,
then attack when you can't move.
Nano Dragon: A giant, flying dragon that shoots large laser beams at you from
afar, and will fly off if you get too close to it. It's laser blasts
are very strong if they hit head-on, so it's best to attack with a
gun-type weapon from afar.
Pofuilly Slime: These guys are annoying as all hell. They're agile, moving blobs
of slime that take forever to kill, since they don't surface
much when they're in water-form. Wait for them to surface, and
attack as much as you can before they attack and/or turn into
a blob. DO NOT freeze them unless you want to make them split
into many different Slimes (although this can be good if you want
to get a Pouilly Slime, a red, rare monster).
Pan Arms: These guys are basically twins, and are clasped together until
you seperate them by attacking. Very weak and slow, but their
laser attack can become deadly if you aren't careful. The red
one (Hidoom) has a strong sword that can do serious damage if
you let it, so kill it first when they seperate. Then again, you could
always kill them fast and BEFORE they seperate...

Canadine: Floating, fast, and annoying are Canadines, basically. They're sometimes
in groups, and will join forces to attack from afar with electrical
shocks. After being seperated, they'll float around the room, and
circle you until you are vulnerable, and attack. Take them out with
a gun-type weapon from afar before they get too close.
Canane: Exactly the same as Canadine's, only red, and have more HP than Canadines.
Use the same tactics to kill them as you do with Canadines.
Garanz: These guys are the worst enemies you'll face until the Ruins. Garanz's
are huge, powerful, and hard to kill. It's attack, a large multiple
missile attack that will chase you around the room until it hits
something, and can be deadly. I suggest attacking it up-close with
sword-type weapons before it launches it's missiles, and pray.
Gillchic: The "normal" enemy in the mines, the Gillchic is just like the Boomas
and Sharks from the previous areas. They're slow, kind of weak, and
pretty easy to kill. They can shoot at you from afar, or can gang up
on you and attack in groups. Hit them and they'll hit the ground,
but they'll get right back up unless you keep attacking and kill them.
It's easiest to hit them to the ground, then do a three-hit combo to
kill them.
Sinow Beat: Sinow Beats are very fast and strong enemies in the Mines, and are
no joke. They'll hang from the ceiling until you enter the room, in
which case they'll drop down, and swipe at you from afar. You can
run from them, but they'll just chase you, so either hit them from
afar before they get close, or use a sword-type weapon up-close to
kill them before they attack. Sinow Beats have a shadow-attack where
they'll circle you with shadow's of themselves, so shoot the real
one to make the shadows disappear.
Sinow Gold: Sinow Golds are exactly like Sinow Beats, but Sinow Golds have less
HP than Sinow Beats, and can cast Resta on each other and every other
enemy in the room. Use the same tactics to kill them as you do with
the Sinow Beats.
Dubchic: Dubchics are almost identical to Gillchics, only they're a bit faster
and stronger. You can't kill them directly, only by destroying the
Dubwitch that controls them, in which case, all of the Dubchics in
the room will blow up.
Dubwitch: This floating switch controls all Dubchics in a room. Simply destroy
it to destroy all Dubchics in the room.

Bullclaw: Bullclaws are mother's to Claws, and continually spit Claws out
until you kill them. They can't do much damage themselves, and
are easy to kill, so take them out first to avoid more Claws. Of
course, if they open up, they turn into a Bulk, which will do damage
and attack you.
Chaos Sorcerer: The Sorcerer can disappear and re-appear at will, and can do
some serious damage with the L and R Bees, which is how he
attacks. You can kill the Bees, but it's easier and faster to
kill the Sorcerer himself, and therefore killing the Bees at
the same time.
Claw: These small, fast, and annoying things have a hard shell, and will attack
in groups. They aren't very strong, and don't have much HP, but can be
hard to kill because of their armor. They float around, so can be hard
to locate at first.
Dark Belra: Dark Belra's are big, lanky bastards that are slow and weak. They
shoot their arms at you from afar, but these are easy to dodge.
Just get in close and kill them quickly before they attack and you'll
be fine.
Delsaber: Probably one of the strongest, fastest, most dangerous enemies in the
game. They can block your attacks most of the time, and will attack
you no matter where you are. If you're far away, they'll leap at you
and attack, and if you're up close, they'll gang up on you and go in
for the kill. Kill them from afar with a gun before they close in on
you, or up close before they attack.
Dimenian: Again, the "normal" enemies in the Ruins are the Dimenians. Just like
the Boomas in Forest, they're pretty slow and weak, but fast and
strong enough to make you cautious about them. They'll give chase if
you run away, so just kill them ASAP.
La Dimenian: The middle-member of the Dimenian family, these guys are a bit
stronger, faster, and harder to kill than normal Dimenians, but
use the same tactics as above to kill them.
So Dimenian: The strongest, most powerful member of the Dimenian-family. Use
the same tactics as you've used for the rest of the Dimenian-
family to kill So Dimenians.

10. Frequently Asked Questions
===============================================================================
Q: Why does my screen freeze up when I go online?
A: It shouldn't. It just takes longer to load. Give it time and it'll load fine.
Q: I bought a Hunter's License, but when I try to go online, it says that it's
expired and that I need to purchase a new one. Whats up???
A: It's fine. Just wait 24 hours and you should be able to get online fine. Read
on if you still get problems.
Q: Why can't I do damage in Ultimate Mode???
A: Because you're not at a high enough level, or you need a v2 rare or a rare
with great %. Try spells and traps if you're an android.
Q: I'm an android, how do I use traps?
A: Use Quick Select (Y+R) and select the traps from there and set them.
Q: Where can re-supply with more traps?
A: In the medical center on Pioneer ship.
Q: How do I change costumes???
A: When you load your character, there is an option for "Dressing Room". Choose
it and pay the money to change your costume color and head.
Q: I can't get online. It says my account has been suspended. What's up?
A: Well, that means you're a naughty cheater. If you can't get online after a
day, then you've been banned. Sorry.
Q: I bought a Hunter's License, but now when I try to go online, it tells me
that my Hunter's License has expired. What's up?
A: Servers are fine, SEGA has lied all this time. I actually talked to a smart
individually and he got me back on!!! I said my problem, he looked it up
and said: "You get one free day of HUNTERS LICENSE before actually having
to buy the thing. I suggest, do this... Sign up for one, once again, you
won't be charged again. It will say, you already have one. Go to "Try
purchase" again.. Fill it out once more." It will then say click OK and
input numbers in PSO Ver.2! (Thanks to tyler2014 for this)
Q: Why can't I do damage in Ultimate Mode???
A: Always use shifta on yourself and keep Zalure hotkeyed. Zalure drops enemies
defense. Doing this should add about 200 damage to whatever your were doing.
