^_^ INTRODUCTION ^_^

This game rocks! Jet Coaster Dream 2 is the sequel to last year's killer
construction kit (that nobody ever heard of), and it provides even more
goodness than the original game. If you're confused as to what all those
squiggly Japanese characters are saying, then you've come to the right place.

2.1____________________________________________________

^_^ TITLE SCREEN ^_^

1. Start
2. Continue
3. Tutorial Mode (four stages of coaster building)
4. Free-Ride Mode
5. Internet

2.2____________________________________________________

^_^ STARTING UP ^_^

You can enter your name in English by selecting the THIRD button on the
top-left. You can make a space with the button to the right, then confirm it
all with the button on the far right.

3.1____________________________________________________

^_^ PARK EDIT SCREEN ^_^

At the top-left of the screen, you'll see the amount of money you have
(measured in ten-thousands of Japanese Yen). At the upper-right, in a white
font is your Level number, and the number of days your coaster has been
running. Underneath the green point totals, you'll see blue characters that
tell you the game speed - slow [green], medium [blue], or fast [red]. I
typically keep the game set to fast for maximum cash input.

At the bottom-left, you'll see the G-meter. The first measures head-on
G-forces, the second vertical G-forces, and the third left-and-right G-forces.
At the bottom-right is the stopwatch for your coaster and its current speed
(real obvious).

^_^ CONTROLS WITHIN THE PARK EDIT SCREEN ^_^

ANALOG PAD: Controls camera position.

DIGITAL PAD: Controls cursor position. When an item is selected, you can move
the item with the D-pad.

A BUTTON: Select item.

B BUTTON: Cancel. If you move the cursor over an object and hit B, this will
pull up a menu asking if you want to destroy the object. A confirms, B cancels.

X BUTTON: Jump to building materials menu. When an object is selected, X plus
the analog pad rotate the object. When a piece of tarmac is selected, X plus
the digital pad re-shape the tarmac.

Y BUTTON: Toggle camera. The camera views are:

       1. Front-car camera
       2. Full-park camera (L and R control altitude)
       3. Coaster tracking camera
       4. Top-down camera
       5. Front camera
       6. Back camera
       7. Car 2 camera
       8. Car 3 camera
       9. Car 4 camera
       10. Free camera (analog controls view, L and R move)

L/R TRIGGERS: No function.

3.3____________________________________________________

^_^ PARK EDIT SCREEN PAUSE MENU ^_^

:LEFT-HAND COLUMN:

BACK TO CONSTRUCTION KIT: Self-explanatory. Hitting start does the same thing.

COASTER FEEDBACK: Lets you talk to the park patrons, who judge your coaster.
Giggles are good; the sound of a strummed guitar is bad. When the little
kiddies collapse, you're doing your job right. B exits.

COASTER DATA: Gives you stats on your coaster. The first screen that pops up
shows you how people felt about your coaster on the test run. The first two
counters are the number of people who got bored (bad). The second two are the
people who thought it was okay. The last two are people who threw up (really!)
or got sick. Remember: sickness and vomit are your friends. If you press down
on the D-pad, you'll see top speed, maximum G's, "Thrill" ranking, and "Safety"
ranking. Press down again, and you'll see the number of points your coaster
gets, the number of points your attractions get, and how many points "other"
things get (benches, lakes, trees, etc). Press down again and you'll read a
financial report.

BUILDING MATERIALS: Here, you can purchase goodies. You can access the five
categories by pressing up and down, then selecting within the categories by
pressing left or right. The categories are Rides, Buildings, Tarmac,
Decorations, and Trees. Underneath the object's description is how much money
it costs, and how many points you'll need to build it.

RAIL COLOR: Change the color of your coaster by doodling with RGB values.

:RIGHT-HAND COLUMN:

EDIT COASTER: This lets you go into construction set mode. A confirms, B
cancels.

GAME SPEED: Changes the speed of the game (as mentioned above).

BGM: Change background music.

OPTIONS: Changes sound and music levels. The last one is for the Jump Pack.
Left is on, right is off.

SAVE: Saves game.

LOAD: Loads game.

QUIT: Takes you back to the title screen

4.1____________________________________________________

^_^ COASTER KIT CONTROLS ^_^

>From the first screen of the construction set, you can choose if you want an
open or closed-type coaster. Closed-type coasters are only available after you
reach a certain level. Place your station and hit A to confirm.

At the top-left of the screen, you'll see three numbers: the number of parts
you're using, the amount of money you have left, and points you have in
reserve. Yellow track pieces indicate track intersection, which is a no-no. Fix
them as soon as you see them, as it beats going back after finishing your
coaster.

ANALOG PAD: Control camera/zoom for non-perspective viewports.

DIGITAL PAD: Controls direction of track piece. Length is determined by grade -
track pieces bending sharply to the left or right will be a bit shorter. Don't
worry; you don't have to worry about building on a grid - this isn't Softimage.

L AND R TRIGGERS: Controls roll of track piece. Lets you make corkscrews/steep
banks.

A BUTTON: Lays down track piece.

B BUTTON: Goes back a track piece (doesn't delete the ones ahead of you).

X BUTTON: No function.

Y BUTTON: Full-screen perspective viewport. Analog pad controls camera.

4.2____________________________________________________

^_^ COASTER KIT PAUSE MENU ^_^

:LEFT-HAND COLUMN:

RETURN: Takes you back to coaster kit editor.

TRASH PIECE: Destroys all parts AHEAD of the one currently selected.
Potentially dangerous!

TRASH CURRENTLY SELECTED PIECE: Deletes the highlighted piece. Weird results -
you may not want to use this.

PRE-BUILT SHAPE: Lets you choose pre-made loops or corkscrews. Your
currently-selected piece has to be straight and level for this to work. Left
and right on the digital pad choose the pre-built shape.

CAR TYPE: Select the type of coaster car you want. More expensive ones offer
more speed, more safety, and resistance to excessive G's.

STATION: Select your coaster station. Purely aesthetic.

COASTER TYPE: Choose between closed and open-style.

:RIGHT-HAND COLUMN:

TEST RUN: Takes your coaster for a spin. NOTE: unlike the first game, you don't
have to finish the coaster before testing it - it just slows down before
hitting the last track piece. A confirms.

SHOW/HIDE TRACK STATS: Pulls up a numerical overlay on the top-right of the
screen, which display horizontal grade, left/right angle, track piece roll
angle, total track length, and the current height of the selected piece.

VIS GROUP TOGGLE: Press once to replace full-detail park attraction models with
wireframe boxes. Press again to remove everything except the coaster itself.
Press again for the fully-textured view. Reduces clutter and improves
framerate!

OPTIONS: Doodle with sound levels.

SAVE: Saves.

LOAD: Loads.

QUIT: Returns to main menu.
