This is a complete walkthrough with instructions how to get every trigram
(scroll) in the game without using the "restore cheat"-trick at the waterfalls.

Start walking right at the very beginning til you face Enemy #1, green cap.
Once defeated, climb the ladder, and go left, and up the next ladder, then
the next one. Go right, jump across the hole and climb the ladder. Kick the
door to the right open, continue right, climb down the ladder, go left and
face Enemy #2, green cap. Continue left and down all the four ladders into
the blue cave. Climb up the next ladder to the right, then up the next one.
Kick down the door to the left and continue in that direction. Climb up the
ladder, then go right and pick up the trigram. Go down three ladders into the
black cave. Climb up the ladder to the right and continue right to exit the
cave. Continue right and youll get attacked by wolves, but they won't kill
you, just drain your energy. Idle for a moment til your energy has recovered.
Climb up the next ladder, and continue right to face Enemy #3, grey mask.
Continue right and climb up the next ladder, continue right to face Enemy #4,
white mask. Continue right, climb the next ladder, then down the first ladder
you see, into the blue cave. Go right and you'll walk into the yellow cave.
Walk by the first ladder down and climb up the next ladder. Pick up another
trigram here, it is well hidden to the left. Climb down the ladder again,
then go left, and walkby the down going ladder again, back into the blue cave
and up the ladder. Outside, continue right and go down the next ladder into
the red cave. Climb the next ladder you see, and exit the cave to the right.
Continue, and a shuriken will be thrown at you. Fall down the waterfall to
face Enemy #5, grey mask. As you are fighting in the water, you can not use
jump kicks. When he is defeated, walk back into the waterfall, there is a
secret meditation spot here. Your energy will get a boost, and you will
absorb the power of the second trigram you picked up. Leave and continue right
to face Enemy #6, green cap. Continue right and down the ladder into the
purple cave. Go right and you'll walk into the blue cave with Enemy #7, red
mask. Continue and climb down the ladder, then down another two ladders. Go
right a short distance, then down another ladder. Continue right and you'll
face Enemy #8, grey mask. Continue right and up the ladder, then up the next
ladder to the right, then up the next one to the left. Continue right to exit
the cave to face Enemy #9, red mask. Continue and you'll get another trigram.
Climb down the ladder here into the black cave. Climb up the next ladder, go
right to exit the cave. Continue right and another shuriken will be thrown at
you. Continue and you will face Enemy #10, red mask. Continue and fall down
the waterfall. Walk left into the cave. Climb down the ladder, then up the
next one to the left. Climb up another ladder, and go right and down the
ladder, then down the next one into the blue cave. Climb up the ladder to the
left, then up another three ladders. Go right, and up the next ladder, then
go left. Down the next ladder, and fall down the hole. Climb down the next
ladder and go left. You are now back where the game started. Continue left
to face Enemy  #11, grey mask. Continue left into the yellow cave, and up the
ladder to face Enemy #12, white mask. Go left and meditate over the trigram.
Go right again, down the ladder and back to where the game began and continue
right all the way back into the temple. Once you get there, go up the ladder,
left, up the next ladder, then up the next one. Continue right, jump across
the hole, and up the ladder. Continue right and down the next ladder. Go left,
and go down all the ladders into the blue cave. Go up the ladder to the right,
then up another ladder. Go left, then down two ladders to enter the black cave.
Go up the ladder to the right, then continue right and exit the cave. Continue
right and keep walking and you'll get attacked by wolves again. Heal up again,
and continue right, up the ladder, right, up the next ladder, right, up the
next ladder, right. Go down the first ladder, continue right and enter the
yellow cave. Walkby the downgoing ladder, as well as the next upgoing ladder,
and go down the ladder to the very right. Continue right and fall down the
hole. Go left, and down the ladder. You will now be down in the green
radioactive (or poisionous, I don't know) chamber which normally would drain
your energy, but thanks to one of the trigrams your energy wont be drained.
Continue right, and up the first ladder, then left to meditate over another
trigram. Go right and down back into the green chamber and continue right to
face enemy #13, grey mask. Continue right and up the next ladder, then up the
next one. Go a short distance right and up the next ladder, then up the next
one to face next Enemy #14, red mask. Heal up! Continue right, and up the next
ladder. You are outside in a pool and will immediately face Enemy #15, red mask,
so be sure to be healed up before you go up. Go right, up the ladder, and
right to face Enemy #16, white mask. Ignore the downgoing ladder for now and
continue right and up the next ladder. Continue right and youll get attacked
by wolves again. Go down the next ladder, into the purple cave, then left and
down the ladder. Continue down the next ladder to the left, and continue left
to face Enemy #17, white mask. Continue left, and walkby the downgoing ladder.
Keep going left and up the ladder. Continue left to face next Enemy #18, green
cap. Continue left, and pick up the next trigram. Go back to the right, down
the ladder, right, go down the ladder and continue right through the
radioactive chamber. Walkby the upgoing ladder, and you'll reach Enemy #19,
red mask. Continue right, and up the next ladder. Go right, and kick down
the stone wall blocking your way. Continue right, to face Enemy #20, grey
mask. Continue right, and up the ladder, and continue right to exit the cave
(ignore the yellow stone wall for now). Continue right and you'll reach
Enemy #21 in the water. Continue right, fall down the waterfall, then right
again. A shuriken will be thrown at you, so watch out. Be sure to heal up,
then fall down the next hole to face Enemy #22, white mask. Go right, kick
down the door, continue right, fall down the hole and take the next trigram.
Continue right, down the ladder, left, down the ladder, right, then down
three ladders. Go right a short distance, fall down the hole. Continue right,
and kick down the stone wall blocking your way. Continue right, down the
ladder, right, down the next hole, right, walkby the upgoing ladder, go down
the ladder to the right, continue right quite a distance, and up the ladder,
right, and up the next ladder, left, up the ladder, and right to exit the
cave. Continue right, down the ladder, up the ladder to the right, continue
right out of the cave, and continue right. A shuriken will be thrown at you.
Continue down the waterfall, then right and you'll get attacked by wolves.
Continue right, up the ladder, right, up the ladder, right, up the ladder,
right, and down the first ladder. Continue right, and down the first ladder
in the yellow cave. Go left, and meditate over the trigram. Go right, up the
ladder, continue right, walkby the upgoing ladder, and go down the next
ladder, continue right, down the hole, and down the next ladder you see to
the left. In the radioactive chamber, go right, walkby the first upgoing
ladder, and up the next one. Go up another ladder, right a short distance,
then up another two ladders, right, up the ladder back into the pool.
Continue right, up the ladder, right, down the first ladder, right (shuriken
will be thrown at you). Kick down the tree at the edge and walk across.
Continue right and kick down the next tree. Continue right to face Enemy #23,
green cap. Continue right, up the ladder, left, up the ladder, then up the
next one, right, jump across the hole, kick down the door. Continue right,
and walkby the downgoing ladder and kick down the next door. Continue right,
jump across the hole, kick down the door, down two ladders, left, down the
ladder, and left to face Enemy #24, grey mask. Continue left, up the ladder
and pick up the trigram, down the ladder again, right, up the ladder, right,
up the two ladders, left, jump across the hole, down the ladder, left. Fall
down the hole, and go down the next ladder. Go left across the trees you
kicked down earlier (beware of the shuriken again). Back in the purple cave,
go up the first ladder, go right, up the ladder, right, wolves attacking
you, walkby the ladder, continue right to face Enemy #25, red mask.
Continue right, down the waterfall, right, down the next waterfall, right
(shuriken thrown at you). Jump across the hole, continue right to face
Enemy #26, green cap. Continue right, down the ladder, left, and meditate
over the trigram. Go right, up the ladder, then left and this time fall
down the hole. Go right, down the hole, right, down the ladder, left, down
the ladder, then down the next one to face Enemy #27, red mask. Continue
right and up the ladder. Go right, down the ladder, left and kick down the
stone wall blocking your way. Continue left and meditate over the trigram.
Go right, up the ladder, left, down the ladder, left, up the ladder, right
(igonore the door and the upgoing ladder), down three ladders, right, down
the hole, right, down the ladder, right, down the hole, right, walkby the
upgoing ladder and go down the ladder to the right. Continue right, up the
ladder to the very right, then up the next ladder to the right, up the
next ladder to the left, continue right to exit the cave. Continue right,
down the ladder, and up the ladder to the right, go right (shuriken!),
fall down the waterfall, right (wolves), up the ladder, right, up the
ladder, right, up the ladder, right, down the first ladder, right, walkby
the downgoing ladder, as well as the upgoing ladder, and down the ladder
to the very right. Go right, down the hole, then down the next ladder
into the radioactive cave. Go right, walkby the upgoing ladder, and walk
up the second ladder, then up the next one. Short distance to the right,
another two ladders up. Continue right, up the next ladder into the pool,
continue right, up the ladder, right, walkby the downgoing ladder, up
the next ladder, right (wolves), down the ladder, left, down the ladder,
left, down the ladder, left, down the ladder (radioactive chamber).
Walk right, pass the first upgoing ladder and up the second ladder.
Continue right, up the ladder, and kick down the stone wall to the left.
Continue left, up the ladder, then right and youll find yourself on a
middle plattform at the waterfall. Jump across and continue right.
Kick down the tree, and continue onwards to face Enemy #28, white mask.
Continue right, up the ladder, right, up the ladder, right, jump across
the hole, down the ladder to pick up the trigram. Go up the ladder,
then left. Fall down the hole to face Enemy #29, grey mask. Go right,
down the ladder. The place is pitch-black here (you need to meditate
over this trigram in order to get night vision) and you'll face
Enemy #30, red mask. Go right, and youll fall down a waterfall.
Continue right, and you'll fall down another waterfall. Continue
right, to fall down yet another waterfall. Enter this last waterfall
and meditate over this trigram. Go right to face Enemy #31, green cap.
Continue right, and pick up the final trigram! Go down the ladder,
right, down the hole, (ignore the downgoing ladder), right to exit
the cave. Continue right (shuriken!), fall down the waterfall, go right
(wolves), up the ladder, right, up the next ladder, right, up the next
ladder, right, down the ladder, right, walkby the downgoing ladder and
the upgoing one, and go down the ladder to the very right. Continue
right, fall down the hole, then go down the next ladder to get into
the radioactive chamber. Go right, walkby the first upgoing ladder and
go up the second ladder, then up the next one. Go right, and up two
ladders, then right. You'll run into another Enemy here, but you can
escape this battle by heading up the ladder, that's where you are
going anyway (up into the pool). Continue right, up the ladder, right,
walkby the first ladder and you'll face Enemy #32, white mask.
Continue right, up the ladder, right (wolves), down the ladder,
left, down the ladder, left, down the ladder, left to face Enemy #33,
white mask. Continue left, go down the ladder (radioactive). Walkby
the first upgoing ladder and go up the second one. Go right to face
Enemy #34, grey mask. But as soon as you defeat him, yet another will
appear, Enemy #35, grey mask, so beware! Continue right, up the ladder,
left, up the ladder, and right to exit the cave. Outside, jump across
the hole again, continue right a long distance, walkby the upgoing
ladder in the temple, go down the next ladder, left, up the ladder,
left, up the ladder, left, jump across the hole, up the ladder, left,
up the ladder to face Enemy #36, red mask. Continue right, walkby the
first upgoing ladder, and go up the second one. Go right, up the ladder,
then left to meditate over the final trigram. Go right, down the ladder,
left, down the ladder, left, up the ladder, then up the next one to the
right. Continue right, up the ladder, right, up the ladder and you'll
find yourself at the top of the volcano. Fall down into the volcano,
and fall down into the next hole to face Enemy #37, grey mask. Go right,
fall down the hole, go right, and fall down the hole to face Enemy #38,
Warlord 1, glowing mask. Go right and you'll face Enemy #39, Warlord 2,
glowing mask.

Fall down into the hole, and the game is completed.
