Space Force is one of the four games that was ever made for the rare Adventure
Vision Tabletop gaming machine. I'm making it my personal quest to cover all
four games with a short FAQ and Space Force is the second game I'm covering.
The first one was Defender and both games are actually very comparable. They
are both scrolling-shooters with Defender being a side-scrolling shooter and
Space Force being a multi-directional shooter in the style of Asteroids. So
Space Force will certainly feel familiar once you start playing. This guide
will introduce the object of the game, the enemies, the controls and some
basic strategy so anyone can finish the game. It isn't a detailed walk-
through, but a FAQ to introduce the mechanics to make sure everyone can play
it like it is meant to be.

2.1- Object of the game                                             [A201]
===============================================================================

Space Force is a multi-directional shooter in which you need to destroy meteors
that are heading for your space ship while fending off aliens space ships that
are attacking. So you will be in for a hectic battle in which fast reaction
times are important. Luckily you can rotate your cannon 360° to shoot in every
direction.

    2.2- Controls                                                       [A202]
===============================================================================

The Entex Adventure Vision has six different input buttons, but not all buttons
are needed to play the game so don't be surprised when you push a button and
nothing happens (Button 4) or the Sound is turned off (Sound Button). Only the
following buttons have a significant function within the game.
_______________________________________________________________________________
        |
Joystick | You use the joystick to rotate the phaser cannon and to move your
        | ship, which can be quite challenging for beginners. By pushing the
        | stick to the left, you rotate the cannon clockwise. You can also
        | move the cannon counter clockwise by pushing the stick to the right.
        | If you move the stick up, you move in the same direction as the
        | cannon while you move in the other direction if you push down. You
        | will have to combine moving the cannon and the ship to survive.
_________|_____________________________________________________________________
        |
Button 1 | You need to press this button to indicate you will be playing the
        | game alone.
_________|_____________________________________________________________________
        |
Button 2 | You need to press this button when you want to play with two players
        | where both players will alternate. Player 1 will always go first
        | after which Player 2 can attempt to finish the level. The game
        | shows whose turn it is each time a mother ship is destroyed.
_________|_____________________________________________________________________
        |
Button 3 | Button 3 is the only button that is used during actual gameplay. By
        | pressing button 3 you'll fire your cannon in the direction it is
        | pointed.

3- Strategy                                                              [A300]

At the beginning of the game you have five mother ships (lives) and you gain an
extra one for every 10.000 points you score. You'll need those  mother ships
because it is Game Over if you lose them all. Luckily the game isn't that hard.
Take your time getting used to the controls at the start and remember it is
more important to evade an incoming meteor than to sacrifice a life and
destroy it. Even a small space ship is only worth 1.000 points so you would
need to destroy ten of them to make up for the lost life.

The game gets harder as the rounds progress. At first a meteor disappears after
splitting up once, but as the rounds progress, the meteors will continue to
split once they are hit. At the end, meteors can split up to six times before
being completely destroyed. So watch out for their debris. This table shows the
points you earn for each meteor and space ship with level 1 being the biggest
and level 7 being the smallest meteor.

_______________________________________________________________________________
                  |
Meteor - Size 1   |   20 Points
Meteor - Size 2   |   50 Points
Meteor - Size 3   |   80 Points
Meteor - Size 4   |  110 Points
Meteor - Size 5   |  140 Points
Meteor - Size 6   |  170 Points
Meteor - Size 7   |  200 Points
Large Attack Ship |  200 Points
Small Attack Ship | 1000 Points
