INTRODUCTION
o---------------------o
Whether or not this is like a spiritual sequel to Missile Defense 3-D, I don't
know for sure but the concept is almost the same. You defend the earth from the
missile onslaught from outer space as opposed to preventing the nations from the
East and West from shooting missiles at each other in MD3D. You go through about
up to 20 waves of enemy onslaught. If you've played Halley Wars/Halley's Comet
then you have a slight idea of what's going on as you try to prevent the enemy
from going past you to damage the earth.

OVERVIEW
o---------------------o
Earth is under attack! From secret bases hidden in the farthest reaches of the
galaxy, deadly missiles have been sent to destroy your home planet. Earth needs
a Champion, someone with courage... the skill to operate a Global Defense
satellite... someone who is brave enough to fight a space battle with almost
impossible odds. Earth needs you to take on the enemy in one of the meanest,
toughest space battles ever! You've got the Global Defense Satellite and a
supercharged laser cannon. Through ten waves of non-stop action, seek out and
destroy the enemy missiles and satellites... zapping anything that gets in your
way. Each wave is tougher. The risks, greater. Nobody said it would be easy. Are
you ready for Global Defense?

GAMEPLAY
o---------------------o
Even though the manual says you go through 10 levels which are 5 offensive and 5
defensive halves but in reality, 10 is the minimum amount of levels you'll play
as you will play 10 offensive levels minimum as you will play each set of scenes
twice.
The scenes are as follows:
Stage 01 & 03: Earth (Offense)
Stage 02 & 04: Earth (Defense)
Stage 05 & 07: Moon (Offense)
Stage 06 & 08: Moon (Defense)
Stage 09 & 11: Asteroid Belt (Offense)
Stage 12 & 14: Asteroid Belt (Defense)
Stage 13 & 15: Saturn (Offense)
Stage 14 & 16: Saturn (Defense)
Stage 17 & 19: Hidden Planet (Offense)
Stage 18 & 20: Hidden Planet (Defense)
If you manage to get a perfect in an Offensive phase then you will skip the
Defensive phase completely because you took out all of the enemy forces the
first time around thus if you play well enough you won't have to worry about
the even number levels at all.
You have 3 lives in the Offensive phases to start and 1 life in the Defensive
phase total because the works is that, everything that passes you by will cause
damage to the Earth and it shows a meter that fills up on the bottom when the
meter is all the way up then you lose a life in the Defensive half then it's
game over. For the Offensive half, you lose a live by getting hit by an enemy
missile.
Throughout the game you will collect three types of Powerups to assist you in
battle. They are shaped like a satellite with a P on it. Yellow ones increase
your speed. White reduces any occured damage. Pink will increase the power of
your shots.
Destroying missiles nets 50pts, satellites nets 40pts, fighters net 30pts, and
bases net 100pts. As I said before, destroying all enemies in the Offensive go
around gets you a Perfect and you earn a minimum of 20,000 points and an extra
life. Each perfect after that nets you an extra 10,000 points on top of the
previous total. As an added treat, you will see a small cutscene of Flicky and
her chicks from the game of the same name. The last Perfect is worth 1 million
points if you manage to perfect all 10 levels. The points are not calculated
until after you complete the level and you are picked up by your shuttle.
When you beat the game, you get a shot of the Statue of Liberty and the text...
Congratulations
