| 2.2 Weapons |

This game has 3 basic weapons types. They are the sword, the bar, and the
bomb. When using a weapon, a character can gain access to a number of new
maneuvers. The catch is that characters can only wield certain weapons. If
your character does not use the particular weapon it will be picked up for
points instead.
You will drop your weapon if you are knocked down by the enemy. The bomb
weapon is used as a one time projectile for all characters except for
Skullbyule. Below are the characters and the weapons they are able to use.

| 2.3 Life Meter |
------------------
The Life Meter is the meter labeled "Life". It is made up of Energy bars.
When your life meter is greater than 3 bars you are in "Blue Mode" (regular
status). During Blue Mode your Power Escape Special (A+P) costs 3 Energy bars.
Your life meter will also light itself up during Blue Mode while attacking
your enemies. Certain maneuvers light your meter up quickly (ie a throw from a
Grapple will immediately light 1 bar). Other maneuvers take a few successful
hits to light your meter. Once your meter is lit completely your name will
begin to flash. This gives you access to use of your Super. Your name will
only flash in this instance for 15 to 20 seconds. Note that the less Energy
bars you have, the faster you can light your meter to gain access to your
Super maneuver.
When your Life Meter is less than 3 bars you are in "Red Mode" (come back
status). During Red Mode your Power Escape Special (A+P) costs 1 Energy bar.
Your life meter will no longer light itself up. During Red Mode you will get
an infinite flashing name. Thus, you can perform your Super.

| 2.4 Power Meter |
-------------------
This is the meter labeled "Pow". It is made up of Power bars. This meter is
used to perform some of your Special Moves. Each Special Move costs a portion
of this meter to use.
The Power meter can refill itself in a number of ways. It refills itself
with every hit landed, even if you use a sword/bar. It does not, however,
refill from the use of grapple moves. This means it is possible to use a
Special Move that drains your Power Meter, have it successfully hit, and then
refill part of the maneuver's bar cost instantly. The Power Meter can also be
refilled by remaining idle. The last way to refill your Power Meter is from an
Over Charge. This will be explained in more detail in the next section.

| 2.5 Over Charge |
-------------------
An Over Charge will occur if your Power Meter is low and you perform a
Special Move without having enough bars to cover the cost of said maneuver.
You will still be able to perform the Special Move in this instance (as long
as you are in Blue Mode), however it will cost your character 1 Energy bar
from their Life Meter. This will also refill your Power Meter. You cannot
perform an Over Charge if your character is in Red Mode. Instead of performing
a Special Move your character will be locked into a Power Charge. The Power
Charge will remain locked until your character is hit or until your character
completely refills their Power Meter.

| 2.6 Canceling |
-----------------
This game allows you can cancel into many of your Special Moves from a
variety of situations. This allows your character to create interesting
and diverse combos.
The first type of cancel is a Grapple Cancel. With a few exceptions, most
Death Blow Specials and Power Escape Specials can be performed directly from a
Grapple. Your Special/Super Moves that require holding A with a direction
input can also be used from a grapple. All you need to do is press and hold
A when within the grapple state and then perform the motion. This will cause
you to perform your grapple strike and cancel into your Special/Super move.
Note that your Special/Super Move must be able to be performed from a standing
position normally for this to work.
Another type of cancel is a Dash Cancel. The concept is the same as above.
You can perform your Special/Super Move by Dashing Forward, pressing and
holding A, then performing the maneuver's motion. This will not work for
Zeldia as her dash attack puts her in the air. However, Zeldia can use her air
Special Move the Double Claw Drill (J+A in air) after her dash attack instead.
You can even Guard Cancel in this game. Hold A to block. Perform your
Death Blow Special or Power Escape Special by either pressing A or P during
your block animation.
Finally, you can cancel from many of your regular attacks. Zeldia can
cancel into her air Special Move the Double Claw Drill (J+A in air) after any
air attack, for example. You can cancel into your Death Blow Special or Power
Escape Special from any of your basic chains. This game has a free form
combo system allowing a variety of ways to play.
