===============================================================================
HISTORY:

      October 05, 2000  I start a FAQ for Global Champion/Kaiser
                        Knuckle.

November 08, 2000  This FAQ is taken off the back burner and readied for
a first release.  Version 0.90 is ready.

November 12, 2000  I have the Super Moves now!  Thanks to T. Yamada for
the Super Moves and their names for all nine
characters.  I have added a quick word about the
                        supers.

August  5, 2002  The Cast & Staff lists are added. More soundtrack info
including BGM titles is added. A quick bit on
the prototype game Dan-Ku-Ga is added.

August  6, 2002  Info on the Configuration menu is added.  For the
next update, I plan to add the moves for General and
                        Azteca (playable in Dan-Ku-Ga).

August  7, 2002  Dive Attack command added, as well as moves for
Gonzales & Azteca. Next order of business is to find
additional moves for Dan-Ku-Ga specific to the
original nine playable characters.  After the next
update, I will probably stick a fork in it... it's
about done.  Here's version 1.20 for now.

October  2, 2002  Email address jerked from the FAQ.  I can be reached
at gameoverDude.com via the Private Message there
(look for the user "gameover" & register on site,
                         then send PM).

July    31, 2003  The Green Herring (T.Yamada) has submitted
            some corrections &
info for the FAQ. This is a major update, and the FAQ
                        is nearing its next release.

August  13, 2003  The new version 1.35 is released.

===============================================================================
ABOUT GC/KK:

Global Champion has an AMOA rating of "Animated Violence- Strong".

No home conversion was EVER done for this game.  The Sony PlayStation surely
would not have been able to handle it anyway.  Taito could probably have done
it well on the Saturn using a 1M RAM cart however.  This game is over 35
Megabytes in size.

Since there's no FAQ in existence for this game, I thought I'd go ahead
and take a whack at it.  If you've been looking for a FAQ for this game and
have never found one, your search is over.

An alternate version called "Dan-Ku-Ga" exists as a prototype.  DKG
gives bonuses for combos and has a screen before the game where the player
selects a difficulty level. Gonzales and Azteca are playable.  This
one is an upgrade that was apparently not given a wide release.

===============================================================================
GAME SETTINGS (Configuration): Each setting is for all versions unless
specified otherwise.

Monitor- Set the picture to Normal mode or Invert (flip).

Attract Sound- Sound ON or OFF during demo.

Practice Time- Time for Practice is adjustable.  Default is 100 sec. Can be set
to 90,100,110,or 120 seconds. (DKG only)

Trial Time- Time for Trial is adjustable. Default is 100 sec. Can be set to 90,
100,110, or 120 seconds.(DKG only)

setting it to WITHOUT.

Game Speed- Normal, Fast 3, Fast 2, Fast 1 (DKG).
Slow, Middle, Fast, Very Fast (GC/ World KK).

Blood Mode- (GC and World KK) If it is turned on, the characters will
lose more blood- not quite like Mortal Kombat, but still a bit messy.

BGM- The game can be played with or without BGM.

Trigger- (GC and World KK) Can be set to 5 or 6 button play. 6 is default.

Coin 1/Coin 2- Game pricing options.  Each one can be set as follows:
  Coins: 1,2,3,4
 Credits: 1,2,3,4,5,6
===============================================================================
GAME START:

You are offered nine characters to choose from.

High Scores:

The top 10 high scores are held until powerdown.

Global Champion (US)- High score table shows a players total Wins & Defeats.
Kaiser Knuckle (JPN)- Just a typical high score list.

If you continue, your score does not reset but you gain 1 point (ala SFII). A
score that ends with "00" has the most meaning because it shows that you did
NOT use continues.

===============================================================================
GAME PLAY:

Basic Operation
---------------
Like a Capcom 6-button fighting game for the most part.  However,
you can get 5 strengths of punches and kicks.
 1+2... L4 Punch   2+3... L5 Punch
 4+5... L4 Kick    5+6... L5 Kick
The L4 and L5 attacks can usually hit twice.

b,b Backdash (Dan-Ku-Ga only, except for Gekkou who has it in GC/KK as well.)
d+KKK Dive Attack (all versions)
"Mortal Skills" is just another name for special moves.  These are done with
various joystick & button combinations.

Crush System
------------
When you are hit, your CRUSH meter goes up.  If you reach maximum, there will
be an audible alarm.  The meter stays maxed until your next hit with a "Mortal
Skill".  When that happens, there is a burst of thunder and lighting, causing
the battle stage to take damage.
Your opponent takes 1.5x the damage normally caused by the MS. Additionally,
some areas of stages will have flames on the ground (more on that later).

Note: In Global Champion, this is called the POWER meter.

Breakable Walls
---------------
Many stages will have walls that can be broken out.  Throwing or knocking your
opponent into the wall with attacks will cause the wall to take damage.  After
a certain amount of damage, the wall crumbles and another section of the stage
is revealed.

Fire & Thunder Fields (Kaiser Knuckle & Global Champion only)
-------------------------------------------------------------
After a stage is damaged by a CRUSH hit, there will be either a Fire Field or
a Thunder Field appearing in a certain part of the stage. Certain attacks will
be boosted by performing them in such an area (Kazuya's Ko-Oh Ken will be red
and cause a knockdown on impact, Lihua's sword will be enveloped in flame for
the Iai Zan, etc.)

Super Moves
--------------
Every character has a Super Move.  As in Fatal Fury 2 or Special, it can be
done only when your life bar is flashing.

Dan-Ku-Ga Differences etc.
-------------------------
1) Everyone can backdash by tapping (b,b) - Not just Gekkou.
2) You don't select the first opponent in 1P vs. CPU mode.
3) The 5th opponent is Gonzales.
4) The 9th opponent is Azteca.
5) The 10th opponent is your doppleganger.
6) Kaiser Knuckle's requirements for reaching General do not apply.  You fight
him in the 12th stage. You actually stand a chance of beating him this
time around. :-)  Now he's about on par with an SNK boss.
7) The 4th and 5th levels of Normal attacks are gone, but some of these moves
are still in DKG with new controller motions. Example: Kazuya's front flip
kick is F+SK rather than MK+SK.
8) The CPU AI has been altered somewhat.  Some patterns you can use in GC/KK
  may not work here.
9) Before your game, you choose the difficulty level- Normal, Professional, or
  Training.
10)In Training mode, you choose an opponent. In the 1st round they remain
still and you get to try out your special moves on them.  In the 2nd round
they will fight you, but neither you or the opponent will take damage.  Each
Training round lasts for the length of time chosen at Configuration. Your
special move commands will be shown on screen.

===============================================================================
BOSSES:

Gonzales (First Boss, Russia)

Gonzales' stage is high atop a tower with a Roman Numeral clock in the
background.  In the distance, you can see mosques and a sky with some clouds.

 Attacks:
Daisharin Nage- An air throw that does grievous damage.

Dai Tatsumaki-otoshi- Gonzales takes the opponent up in the air and
does a backbreaker on them as he comes down.

Azteca ("Final" Boss, Mexico)

Azteca's stage is in front of a Mayan pyramid.  Tribesmen stand on the
steps of the pyramid watching the fight, while some dancers in cat masks form
a line in front of it.  The sky is red and wavering.

 Attacks:
    Silent Spear: Hair Whip attacak.

Mystic Buzzsaw & Kuuchuu Mystic Buzzsaw (air version): Azteca uses a
rolling attack like Blanka in Street Fighter II.

 General (True Final Boss, Universe)

General's stage is inside a space station.  At the start of the stage, a
video screen will come down and depict General laughing haughtily.  General
soon jumps down to take his place opposite your character.   Soldiers sit at
computers in the background, and more soldiers from a line up front.  If you
lose, they salute General.  Out a window, you can see stars in space.

NOTE: Before you even get to fight this guy, you must reach and defeat Azteca
using ZERO continues and at least 900,000 points.

It doesn't matter if you lose any single rounds though.
If you've ever Re-Challenged (continued) prior to defeating Azteca, the game
will be over in that case and you get the bad ending with General sitting on
his throne and taunting you.

If you have not continued but have come up short of the required amount of
points, you get this ending but the staff roll appears after it.

NOTE: The requirements don't apply in Dan-Ku-Ga.  Here you fight General in
Match 12 with no strings attached.

 General's Attacks:

Slide: Like the one M. Bison uses in Street Fighter II but it is really
fast.  You will need to be quick to counter it (I've done that with Kazuya's
Dankuga).

Doppelganger: General shoots a green glowing image of himself at you along
the floor.  This projectile cannot be neutralized.

Shotgun Doppelganger: General shoots a Doppelganger along the floor, and
several others in a "Shotgun" formation.  Just BLOCK.  Mess with this and
you must have tripped. Don't try to counter it.

Boot Grind: General knocks you down and steps on you in a grinding motion.

Unknown DM: I don't think I even want to see this one, considering how over
powered General is.  If we're lucky, he won't even have one.

Sometimes General will use typical jumping attacks.  Find a way to knock him
out of the air in these cases.

RANT: General is overpowered as hell.  WHY did Taito do this?  If you jump, he
will usually find a way to knock you out of the air.  About all you can do is
counter his attacks. His GC/KK incarnation is probably THE #1 CHEAPEST boss in
the whole history of fighting games.

In DKG, he is toned down somewhat- here,he likes to use jump attacks a bit more
often, which gives you more chances to use anti-air moves. I beat him using
Kazuya in this one.

===============================================================================

ROUND CLEAR BONUS:

When you win a round, here is what you can get:

LIFE: A bonus based on the remaining portion of your life bar. If you win
a round with no life lost, this will be 30,000.

TIME: The time bonus is rather substantial.  It is not just 100 points.
No, you get **500** points a second.

BONUS: For defeating an opponent without losing a round to them.  You get
30,000 for a regular opponent, and 50,000 for a boss.

===============================================================================

Taito Corporation, for making this a killer game.  A slap on the wrist to them
for making General so cheap, however. :P But at least he's not so bad in
Dan-Ku-Ga.

Jeff Veasey of Game FAQs ( gamefaqs.com ) for a great FAQ site.

the move name translations, missing move names, some moves that were added on
