1)Introduction
There is plenty of information on the net about 'Dance Dance Revolution'
(DDR), which is great. In the UK we have the 'Dancing Stage' games, which
are essentially the same in all but name, but it is a lot harder to find
information about these. That's why I've written this FAQ (and others).
If you have any questions about the EuroMix 2 arcade that I haven't covered
here, please e-mail me them at
[email protected], and I'll try to find out
the answer and include it. Also please let me know about anything that puzzled
you for a long time (but that you eventually worked out!) that I don't already
have here.
WARNING: I'm not totally infallible! Let me know if you find something here to
be wrong! Yes, even if you notice that I've got the difficulty of one song
wrong by just one foot!
Finally, thanks to the following organisations and people:
-www.konami.com and www.ddrspot.com for songlists
-www.ddrfreak.com for difficulties
-GurtyGurt for his astoundingly comprehensive DDR FAQ (on www.gamefaqs.com)
for some of the Arcade machine codes.
-www.dancegames.com (UK division) forum FAQ for the other Arcade codes
-People at the Namco Station in London on 25/10/2 for various bits and pieces
-www.ddruk.com for hosting this, and its forums for odds and ends.
-Neo, Neomantix and Tomoki1 for finding the legendary DSE2 Speed Up code!
-TooNice for the final difficulties in the songlist. Thanks!
2) Dancing Stage EuroMix 2
In late summer 2002, a sequel to 'Dancing Stage EuroMix' was finally
released. And what a sequel! While EuroMix 1 had just 28 songs, EuroMix 2 has
68 (although 12 of them were on EuroMix 1). The game also featured songs with
variable speed, and 'freeze arrows' which have to be held down instead of
tapped. The old 'secret' modifiers (Mirror, Little etc) were kept but with
changed codes, and new modifiers (Dark, Speed Change etc) added (see code
section below). Finally, it introduced 10-foot songs to the UK in the form of
Max300's single and double modes. Awesome!
2.1) EuroMix 2 songs
Here are all the songs on EuroMix 2 along with their difficulties.
(Finally the difficulties list is complete, hooray!)

2.2) EuroMix 2 Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can I get on the darn scoreboard?!
A: Do well enough in Non-stop mode playing one of the sets called "Ranking 1",
"Ranking 2" or "Ranking 3". Non-stop mode can only be chosen at the start
of your game!
Q: Why do I keep failing the last song in Non-Stop Mode / Arcade Mode?
A: In both modes, the penalty for missing a step gets bigger as you go along.
So on the first song, you can make quite a few mistakes (and in fact if
you're doing a song on Beginner difficulty, failing won't even end your go),
but still do okay - whereas on the last song, a single miss will take the
energy bar down by about 1/4! This means it only takes a few misses to wipe
you out.
Q: What about my question that you haven't included here?!
A: E-mail me it at
[email protected], and I'll see what I can do!
2.3) EuroMix 2 codes
Enter these after you have selected a song. When you successfully input the
code, its name appears in one of the bars on the left hand side.
Hidden Mode L, U, R
(Arrows disappear as they travel up the screen)
Sudden Mode Activate Hidden mode, then add L, U, R
(Arrows only appear halfway up the screen)
Stealth Mode Activate Sudden mode, then add L, U, R
(Arrows only appear when it's too late)
Left Mode U, D, R, L
(Arrows are shifted anti-clockwise of their normal positions, so you get left
arrows instead of up, etc)
Right Mode U, D, L, R
(Arrows are shifted clockwise of their normal positions, so you get right
arrows instead of up, etc)
Shuffle Mode U, D, U, D, U, D
(Arrows appear at the same time as normal, but in a random direction, so the
up arrows could become lefts, rights or downs, or stay the same.)
Mirror Mode U, L, R, L, R
(Left and Right arrows swap, and Up and Down arrows swap. NOTE! This doesn't
actually mirror the pattern, but instead *rotates* it through 180 degrees.
This means you could learn a song at home in mirror mode, then at the
arcade play in normal mode, but dance while facing your audience!)
Little Mode L, D, R
(Half and 1/4 steps do not appear. This means players of different experience
levels can play at the same time, the lesser experienced player using little
mode.)
Flat Mode Activate Little mode, then add L, D, R
(All arrows are now the same colour - this makes it harder to spot off-beat
arrows.)
Solo Mode Activate Flat mode, then add L, D, R
(Arrows are now clearly coloured depending on whether they are on the beat,
half-beat, eighth beat etc.)
Dark Mode Activate Solo mode, then add L, D, R
(The 'target arrows' at the top of the screen do not appear, making it harder
to tell when to step)
Reverse Mode D, L, R, L, R
(Arrows go down instead of up!)
Boost L, R, D, U
(Arrows accelerate as they go up the screen!)
Freeze Off R, L, D, U
('Freeze arrows' are arrows where you have to hold your foot down. This gets
rid of them.)
Speed Up U, U, L, D, L
(Each time entered, this moves the song up a speed, from normal to 1.5x normal,
then to 2x, 3x, 5x, 8x.)
Speed Down D, D, R, U, R
(Each time entered, this moves the song down the speed order described above,
but does not slow the song down past normal speed.)
Cancel any code L, R, L, R, L, R, L, R
Or, for Little/Flat/Solo/Dark Modes, keep putting in L, D, R until it goes!
Other Codes:
Sorry, but as far as I know there are no more codes of any kind for EuroMix 2
- not even rumours!
3) Previous and forthcoming updates
With version 1.4, the song list is finally complete! There do not appear to
be any secret unlockable songs, nor any further codes, although if I hear of
any they will of course appear here immediately.
Any questions I get asked will be added, but other than that there are no
plans for further developing this FAQ. Thanks again to everyone that has
helped my research, and to everyone that has sent me questions!
