== == Introduction == ==
=============================------------=============================
Alien vs. Predator is a classic beat 'em up game developed by Capcom and
produced by Fox Interactive. It made its debut on May 20, 1994
worldwide. The gameplay style is similar to The Punisher, another game
developed by Capcom, but produced by Marvel.
======================================================================
== == About this Guide == ==
===========================----------------===========================
This guide will only cover enemy strategies for Predator Warrior,
Predator Hunter, and Lt. Linn Kurosawa. For Major Dutch Schafer, I will
only give tips on how to handle a pack of a certain enemy at one time,
due to his vast difference from the other characters.
======================================================================

== == The Battle System == ==
==========================-----------------===========================
ALIEN v.s. PREDATOR's battle system is fairly unique as it combines
the traditional FFG elements as well as excellent 2D elements. You have
an ENERGY METER (health meter) that, when completely yellow, it's 100%
health. When you get hit by an enemy, or a projectile (i.e. grenade,
knife, etc..), your bar will start to deplete. After it's completely red
and you get hit once more, you have lost a life and will jump down if
you have more than x1 (displayed on top right of energy bar, it could be
any number from 0-9). All other enemies will be knocked down and points
will be given to the player. At the end of the game, if you have x0 or
more, you will earn bonus points by how much lives you have left.
======================================================================
== == 2. Move List == ==
=============================------------=============================
-DATA OF FILE:PREDATOR WARRIOR----------------------------------------------
The Warrior's normal attack pattern is three P.Spear swipes followed by a
stationary pole vault-like kick. This final kick has jast a tad less range
than the P.Spear swipes, and sometimes misses the target. If weaponless,
he fights hand-to-hand with the Wristblades instead. If he is hit by an
enemy immediately behind him while attacking, he will execute a reverse
sweep.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jumping/Dashing Moves:
Dash- -O+(C)
[Moves about 1/2 screen width]

Dash Kick- Dash, (B)

| Dash Knee- Dash, |+(B) |
O

After initiating a Dash Kick, it is possible to land multiple kicks by
further pressing the ATTACK button each time the Warrior connects with a
target. Furthermore, the Warrior will rebound from connection in the
current direction of the joystick, making it possible to dash into a group
of enemies, kick several, and then bounce out without ever touching the
ground.

After initiating a Dash Knee, it is possible to turn it into a Dash Lunge
Punch by pressing the ATTACK button once upon connecting with a target.

High Jump- O+(C)
| | |

High Dash- O+(C)
/

Backward Hop- O-+(C)
[Dash Kick, Dash Knee, and P.Spear Dive work too, but are awkward. You can
also execute a Backward High Dash, just reverse the direction of the way
the Warrior is facing with the joystick, and vice-versa.]

| P.Spear Dive- Jump, |+(C) |
[If he is without his P.Spear or is holding another weapon, O
he executes a Diving Kick. Repeatedly pressing, or holding the
JUMP Button results in multiple hits. He is momentarily vulnerable
after execution.]

Rebound Off-Walls- Dash, Backward Hop
High Dash works too. You must Dash on a wall and then pull the joystick
the opposite direction to the wall. You can execute any of these moves
after you rebounded off the walls-the P.Spear Dive(Diving Kick), Dash
Kick, and Dash Knee then Lunge Punch or you could use your Shoulder
Cannon.]

Grabbing Moves:
Grab- You will grab the enemy when you touch it.
[Alien Queens/Power Loaders/Infectoids/Face Huggers/Chest Busters are

-DATA OF FILE:Maj. DUTCH SCHAEFER-------------------------------------------
Schaefer's normal attack pattern is four punches. If he picks up any melee

-DATA OF FILE:Lt. LINN KUROSAWA---------------------------------------------
Linn's normal attack pattern is four Karate moves followed by a katana
slice. Without her katana, she will only do four Karate moves. If she is
hit by an enemy immediately behind her while attacking, she will execute a
reverse sweep.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jumping/Air Attacks
If Linn's air attacks connect, she can rebound and execute another air
attack. If executing a Jump Kick, she will rebound in the direction of the
joystick. If executing a Stab she will rebound up.Repeated Stabs usually
result in an Air Throw. She can also rebound off the walls.

Soukeiha[Double Energy Blast]- Hold (B) for a while then release
[She may freely move and use the WEAPON and JUMP Buttons while charging.
Even firing a picked up weapon will charge her bolt, often resulting in a

Auto-Guard Counter:
Senpuzan[Spinning Slice]- Any 2 Buttons simultaneously
[She jumps into the air, spinning with her katana extended. She can do this

-DATA OF FILE:PREDATOR HUNTER-----------------------------------------------
The Hunter's normal attack pattern if four Halberd/Naginita slashes. If

== 3-A. Predator Warrior ==
======================================================================
1. Against Aliens...
--------------------
Since Predator Warrior is a very balanced character and has neither
strengths nor weaknesses, killing enemies doesn't pose much of a threat.
It depends on which alien you are fighting. Some are more deadly than
others. Some of you may refer an Alien as a Xenomorph. I will be giving
you strategies on these xenomorphs based on class.
Deadly or Not?
--------------
Who? Sentry Guns, Egg Chambers
What? Things that don't move on its own.
When/Where? Sentry Guns show up Rounds 5 and 7, Egg Chambers show up
Round 4 only.
Why? To distract you.
How to kill them?
Sentry Guns - If you had watched the special edition of the movie
Aliens, you'd know what these look like, except that they don't turn
left and right. The good news is that wherever they're pointing will be
the direction they'll shoot. They'll only shoot straight, so if you're
directly in front of it or along the lines of that, you'll get shot.
Two, I repeat, TWO hits will take them down. Yes, ANY two. Usually one
blast with the Shoulder Cannon can do the trick.
Egg Chambers - You'll either end up like Kane from the first Alien film
or do something that "Ripley 8" did in Alien: Resurrection. Either way,
you'll have to look out. Some egg chambers contain face huggers in them,
and seeing the top open usually indicates these, as long as you're close
to them. Other eggs do not open, and they take more hits to kill off.
Keep using Normal Attack Pattern. If aliens are in the vicinity, keep
them all on one side, and use your Shoulder Cannon. Don't overheat.
The Busy Little Creatures
-------------------------
When? In Rounds 4 and 7.
Why? Annoyance
Who? Face Huggers and Chestbursters
What? Small little creatures...
Where? Face Huggers come out of eggs, and Chestbursters usually come out
of Infectoids and/or hide inside containers.
How to kill them: Piss easy. Use your Shoulder Cannon for Face Huggers
and Slide Attacks for Chesbursters. If one of them manages to get on
your face, wiggle the joystick left and right until Predator Warrior
tears it to shreds using its WristBlades. Air attacks work best as they
can only jump so high!
The Low Level Stalkers
----------------------
Who? Stalkers and Defenders
Why? To make you mad as they occasionally hide off screen, perfect time
for them to lay a hit on you if you try to attack them from there.
What? Stalkers & Defenders look alike in size, but Stalkers are Brownish
and Defenders are Bluish in color.
When? Stalkers show up every Round except for 5. Defenders only show up
Rounds 4, 6, and 7.
Where? Defenders are more rare than Stalkers.
How to kill them: Defenders have the ability to block attacks. However,
if you're about half screen away from them, they wont block for some
reason. They cannot block Predator Warrior's last hit of the Normal
Attack Pattern. They are also vulnerable to the Shoulder Cannon, and
Escape Move. If you have a opportunity, hit them from behind. They can't
block from behind.
For Stalkers, it's a different story. While most of their abilities are
similar to that of the Defenders, including Pounces, Claw Attacks, and
Claw Uppercuts, they are indeed a bit weaker on the defense side. Their
Claw Attacks cannot knock you down(unless they hit you while you're in
mid-air) unlike the Defenders, as they use weaker attacks, but they can
combo you until you're knocked down, causing heavy damage. Occasionally,
they will do a critical hit with their Tail Attack, which sends you
flying straight in the other direction. ---- One Normal Attack Pattern
usually does the trick for slaughtering them. If not, one more blast
will do the job.
The Mid-Level Xenomorphs
------------------------
Who? Warriors, Smashers, Arachnoids
What? Warriors are Black, Smashers are Green, and Arachnoids are Purple
When? Warriors show up in every round except for 5, Smashers show up
Rounds 4, 6, and 7. Arachnoids show up Rounds 6 and 7.
Where? Warriors are everywhere, while Arachnoids/Smashers are rare, but
not as rare as Defenders.
Why? They all are really the same, only that they put on different
colors and abilities to help you distinguish which one is which.
How to kill them:
Warriors - These guys usually come in packs, most noticeable in the
first round. In some rounds, they come all at once spitting huge chunks
of acid at you. Their attacks doesn't hurt as much as you think, only
slightly more powerful than a Stalker's attack. ------- When you see a
Warrior jumping back, that means they're about to spit 3 chunks of acid
at you. Use the time to stay away from that, either by walking up/down
or high jumping over them.
A good combo against Warriors would be: ATK x 4, Down-Up + Attack.
Predator Warrior should lay in 6 hits at them. Hitting one is good, but
hitting two or more is better.
Smashers - Can be distinguished by a monochromatic green colored alien.
The Smasher's attacks are slightly more powerful than a Warrior. Their
Extending Bite hurts like hell. Their Head Smash can only be executable
by hissing first. Looking at their head, which should be shaking first
before executing a Head Smash, indicates this. Their energy bar is
nearly 30% longer than a Warrior. These xenomorphs do not crawl as often
as the other aliens, and they cannot jump. Air attacks works very well
against these critters, but make sure you are hitting more than one at
once. Usually if you miss or don't knock them down, another one will
have a 50/50 chance of scoring an attack.
Arachnoids - Can be distinguished by a monochromatic purplish alien.
Their attacks hurt as much as a Warrior. These Xenomorphs jump VERY
OFTEN, so be careful. They have all kinds of attacks, and sometimes it
can be quite annoying to score a hit on them. Their energy bar is
slightly longer than a Smasher. As long as you dodge their air attacks,
you should be fine. Knock them down with your Shoulder Cannon first, and
then you can go on from there. Usually another one will come from the
air. Evade that, and repeat....
The High-Level Royalty
----------------------
Who? Chrysalis, Royal Guard
What/When/Where? Chrysalis is the Round 1 boss, and also shows up on
Round 7. The Round 7 counterparts have a different color to them. Royal
Guards show up Rounds 2, 4, and 7. In a single player game, there is
only one alternate color Royal Guard, and it shows up on Round 7.
Why? To act like a mid-boss, and making sure the player is prepared for
what's coming ahead.
Chrysalis(Round 7 only) - The ones in the Alien Queen battle have a very
low energy meter, and usually several critical hits can take them down.
The ones right before the alternate Power Loader fight are the tougher
ones. There's only two if played on single-player. These aliens are VERY
fast. If they are knocked down, do not think about hitting them from the
ground. Eighty-five percent of the time, they WILL counter you, which
results in some dangerous situations. Here are some attacks you should
look out for if you're against one of these Chrysalises...
a. Bowling Ball - Yes, they will rolls themselves up to a ball and try
to score a pin, which is YOU. In this case, use your Shoulder Cannon.
They are NEVER immune to your Shoulder Cannon. Other options are to hit
them from behind or try to score a "last hit" from the Normal Attack
Pattern.
b. Claw-Claw-Tail (3-hitter) - Usually does a bit over 50% damage, which
is devastating. Don't let them do this to you. If they manage to get the
first hit, use an Escape Move RIGHT AWAY!
Keep them on one side, and one side only. They usually come at you
vulnerable, so use this opportunity to lay a Spear Dive on them.
Royal Guards - The Royal Guards are the toughest aliens you'll ever
encounter, other than the Queen. First off, they have more energy than
the Chrysalises, and their attacks are critical, which means more than
half the time, you'll be knocked down. Here are some abilities you
should watch out for when facing one of these big creatures:
Multiple Acid Shields - It will do this when you're close to it, or when
they are damaged too much. Its defense is as it's best here, as they
keep spitting acid in all directions around its body preventing you from
laying a hit on them. Usually a Spear Dive or a Shoulder Cannon can do
the trick.
Grab and Bite - Occasionally, the Royal Guards will do this. In this
case, if they manage to grab a hold of you, wiggle the joystick left and
right until they let go of you. If you do nothing, they could bite you
to your demise. Be careful.
Unlike the Chrysalis, hitting close or on their getup isn't much of a
problem, as they don't counter as often. They do occasionally ram at
you, which will knock you down, if you're too far away. These xenomorphs
are easier to kill than Chrysalises. The basic combo attack you could do
is the following: ATK x4, Down-Up + Attack, and then when they get up,
Spear Dive. Also, keeping them on one side is a good way to start.
2. Against The Military Grunts
------------------------------
Who? Private, Sergeant, Corporal
What? They work for the Weyland Yutani Corporation. Privates wear brass
armor, Sergeants wears blue armor, and Corporals wear red armor.
When? Rounds 5, 6, 7
Where? They're never with aliens.
Why? To kill your character.
How to kill them?
All of the grunts share the same attacks. From kicks to Pulse Rifles,
Knives, Smartguns, and Power Loaders! The Corporals have the longest
energy of all grunts, but nonetheless, these grunts take more damage
from your attacks.
Their strengths - What they can use, and teamwork.
Their weaknesses - They always trying to look for a weapon before they
truly attack, leaving them totally vulnerable. Use this opportunity to
attack them.
The Smartgunners are the ones that truly does damage to you. And it does
a heavy amount of damage if you're not careful. Hit guys from the back
are a good start. AIR attacks works best against them.
3. Against the Bosses
---------------------
Who? Chrysalis, Razor Claws, Alien Queen 1, Power Loader, Mad Predator,
Alien Queen 2.
What? You'll see...
When? At the end of their respective rounds...
Why? To test your skill..
Where? At the end of the round.
How to kill them??
ROUND 1 - CHRYSALIS - This alien has a LOT of attacks. The most used one
would be its Claw Attack. Usually, it does a Claw-Claw-Tail combo
successfully if you do nothing to counter that. The second advantage is
that it has backup, consisting of Warriors and Stalkers. The Stalkers
will show up first. However, the Chrysalis would have to call them,
which leaves it vulnerable. It will call the Stalkers when it has lost
10-30% of its health, and the Warriors when it lost around 60-80% of its
health. It varies. Use this opportunity to lay in ATK x4, Down-Up +
Attack combo at it. You will have between a 3-4 second window at this.
The other thing about this boss is that it constantly jumps around. Keep
him on one side and wait for them to come at you. Then use Spear Dive.
If you try to use Shoulder Cannon or attack him when he's not even
close, the Chrysalis will jump and claw you -OR- it will use a Tail
Whack that most likely will hit you.
Its energy bar is long, but it takes as much damage as the strongest
Warrior. Eventually, you will get him.
ROUND 2 - RAZOR CLAWS - A purplish alien, and as its name implies, it
has razor sharp claws. These claws CAN combo you for insane damage.
There is also a "critical" Claw Attack that it uses when you try to hit
it from close range while its knocked down previously, much like the
Chrysalis.
Like Chrysalis, this alien also has backup, which are Warriors and
Stalkers once again. Only this time the Warriors show up first, in
groups of three. Unlike Chrysalis, Razor Claws does NOT call them. They
jump down after a set amount of time. They are just there to annoy you.
The best way to beat this guy is Spear Diving. After its initial
dropdown, execute a Spear Dive. When it gets up, execute it again. Make
sure you are using the HIGH SPEAR DIVE, which means UP+JUMP, DOWN+JUMP.
Repeat and eventually you'll get the pattern and kill it easily. There
are more risky ways to kill this boss, but I will only leave this to you
when you are more experienced. Like Chrysalis, Razor Claws also has one
full energy bar, only that Razor Claws take less damage from your
attacks. It shouldn't be too hard.
Notes: The Royal Guard back in the elevator was a test.
ROUND 4 - ALIEN QUEEN #1 - You might be wondering who was laying those
eggs, and here is the answer. The mother of all aliens, the Alien Queen,
has come to rip you apart. So how do we beat her?
DEFENSE - She has a tail, around four claws, a extending bite, acid
spit, and her babies to back her up. She can only turn her body either
to the right or left, depending on where you are. She can do normal or
critical hits depending on how pissed she is.
OFFENSE - For Predator Warrior, killing the Queen is simple. There are
many ways to defeat her. The one most effective way I use is: After the
demonstration, go inside her body and keep doing the High Spear Dive. A
well-executed High Spear Dive can do up to four hits. The second most
effective way is: Same as the first strategy, only this time execute the
Flying Kick constantly. The former can take care of the first pair of
Stalkers that come by, but the Alien Queen should be nearly dead.
ROUND 5 - POWER LOADER - This guy is cake. First off, it moves slowly.
Second, it's very dependent. If you managed to save some Pulse Rifles
from the previous area, constantly shoot at the Power Loader and you'll
take off a huge chunk of his health bar away.
If you did NOT save the Pulse Rifles, then you're going to have to do
this the hard way. But nonetheless, it's still a piece of cake. There
are four grenades at the bottom right of the screen. Use them as
follows:
1. Wait for the Power Loader to start his flamethrower sequence, and
then toss a grenade directly in front of it. The damage will
miscalculate and will increase, doing nearly double damage.
2. Wait for it to start drilling. High Jump over it when it starts to
come forward. You should be behind it. Now go up to its back and toss a
grenade, but at the SAME TIME do a Flying Kick. The damage will also
miscalculate, and the overall damage will be nearly tripled.
Other than the Round 3 Arachnoid, the Power Loader is one of the bosses
that you can pretty much take down quickly.
ROUND 6 - MAD PREDATOR - If you thought the other bosses were tough,
wait until you fight this one. The Mad Predator's overall energy equals
two Power Loaders. Its Wristblade attacks can be combo'd in for massive
damage. This may be the toughest boss fight you'll ever encounter in
this game.
There are a few ways to exterminate this Predator. There are fast and
risky ways, or slow and non-risky ways. One strong suggestion is to
enter this fight with a full energy bar. You might need it.
First, we'll start off with the fast and risky ways:
1. On Round 6, in the Cryo Chamber area right after the Control Box
bonus game, there are 3 Smartgunners. IF at least one of these
Smartgunners drops their SmartGun, pick it up and save it all the way
down to the Mad Predator. Yes, it's risky, as you never know if it could
disappear or not when you're knocked down or picking something else up.
If you're lucky, get Mad Predator on one side. Now shoot at him with the
Smartgun. If you do it properly, its energy will drain, I mean DRAIN
like no tomorrow. If it's your lucky day, you might kill it. If not,
it'll have a small amount of energy left.
2. Same as #1, only with Pulse Rifles. Only that they don't do as much
damage as a Smartgun.
Now, on to the slow and non-risky ways:
1. You'll have to enter the fight with your native weapon only. After
the Mad Predator's initial dropdown, do a High Spear Dive on it. Dash to
the direction opposite the Mad Predator's knockdown, and repeat. You'll
notice that Mad Predator will always walk up to you.
2. This one is harder to explain without a map, but I'll try my best.
After the Mad Predator's initial dropdown, start a six-hitter on it
(ATKx4, Down-Up+Attack). Now watch where Mad Predator gets knocked down.
Stand on a spot where you can draw a diagonal line between you and the
Mad Predator and mash on Attack. If done properly, Mad Predator will
walk up to your attacking sequence and get hit itself.
Okay, so you've used one of these tactics and it's on low energy. Get
ready for some heaving dodging. Here are some things you should look out
for:
1. Shoulder Cannon: Yes, it is a Predator, and it has one of its own
kinds, which does more damage than yours. Some of its Shoulder Cannon
abilities have a red laser aiming at you. Watch out for these, and stay
away from its sight. It's best to High Dash out of the way. If it
doesn't aim at you from the ground, then it'll jump up to the bars and
blast three consecutive shots at you. High Dash to avoid.
2. Invisibility: It has a cloaking device. But there's a catch. It will
only use its Shoulder Cannon while in this mode. So that means it will
have that red tri-laser pointing at you, giving away its position. Try
to take a smart guess as where the Mad Predator is by following the
laser. Once you manage to hit it, its Cloaking Device will deactivate.
Mad Predator is hard if you're not careful. Make sure not to get close
to it while it's knocked down, like Razor Claws/Chrysalis, or else
you'll be sorry!
ROUND 7 - ALIEN QUEEN #2 - So you busted down the tough-ass Mad
Predator, and you thought it was over? Not yet. The Alien Queen is back,
only this time without her egg sac. Also, her energy bar is roughly 25%
longer than all the other bosses. She is a lot tougher (on the defense
side) than her former self, so watch out.
Okay, for one-player, you have two Super Magazines(assuming you didn't
use one in the previous area), two Pulse Rifles, and one healing item.
How do we kill her?
Tactic #1 - Risky, but not THAT risky - If you managed to save a Super
Magazine from the previous area, grab it before the demonstration
starts. After it's over, start holding down the Gun button, blasting the
Alien Queen at her inner body. If she comes close, execute an Escape
move. Now, you should have some seconds left. Take two to three steps
up, and continue blasting. She'll try to spit acid, but it'll eventually
miss. You should take about 25-40% of her overall energy away. Now dash
all the way to the right, and hit all the boxes. Gather up the two Pulse
Rifles.
At this point, the Alien Queen will either:
1. Jump up to the ceiling. -OR- 2. Continue walking up to you.
If it's the former, repeatedly execute an Escape Move until she's done
with her tail. After her dropdown, shoot the Pulse Rifle in short
controlled bursts at her body. If you shoot enough, she'll be pushed
back. If it's the latter, do the same.
You can now either use the second Super Magazine, or repeatedly execute
High Spear Dives at her when she is close.
Tactic #2 - Effective, not very risky - There's a few things you should
do with this tactic:
a. When she is close to you, execute High Spear Dive ability.
b. When she is at the ceiling, repeatedly execute Escape Move until she
is done, or try to stay out of the tails way(opposite the hooked end).
c. Try to kill her babies so they don't distract you.
The Alien Queen is very vulnerable to the Shoulder Cannon, so use that
to your advantage. Her real strength has to be her babies.
After you kill the Alien Queen, it's the end of the game.
======================================================================
== 3-B. Predator Hunter ==
======================================================================
1. Against Aliens...
--------------------
Predator Hunter is a more challenging character to use. His skill is
lower than that of Predator Warrior's, but his strength is higher. Be
careful when you play as this character, as your recovery time is not as
quick as when you were playing as Predator Warrior.
Some strategies I directly copied and pasted without modifying much.
This is because Predator Warrior and Hunter share the same joystick
movements for their abilities, only that Predator Hunter will always do
more hits than Predator Warrior.
Deadly or Not?
--------------
Who? Sentry Guns, Egg Chambers
What? Things that don't move on its own.

When/Where? Sentry Guns show up Rounds 5 and 7, Egg Chambers show up
Round 4 only.
Why? To distract you.
How to kill them?
Sentry Guns - If you had watched the special edition of the movie
Aliens, you'd know what these look like, except that they don't turn
left and right. The good news is that wherever they're pointing will be
the direction they'll shoot. They'll only shoot straight, so if you're
directly in front of it or along the lines of that, you'll get shot.
Two, I repeat, TWO hits will take them down. Yes, ANY two. Usually one
blast with the Shoulder Cannon can do the trick.
Egg Chambers - You'll either end up like Kane from the first Alien film
or do something that "Ripley 8" did in Alien: Resurrection. Either way,
you'll have to look out. Some egg chambers contain face huggers in them,
and seeing the top open usually indicates these, as long as you're close
to them. Other eggs do not open, and they take more hits to kill off.
Keep using Normal Attack Pattern. If aliens are in the vicinity, keep
them all on one side, and use your Shoulder Cannon. Don't overheat.
The Busy Little Creatures
-------------------------
When? In Rounds 4 and 7.
Why? Annoyance
Who? Face Huggers and Chestbursters
What? Small little creatures...
Where? Face Huggers come out of eggs, and Chestbursters usually come out
of Infectoids and/or hide inside containers.
How to kill them: Piss easy. Use your Shoulder Cannon for Face Huggers
and Slide Attacks for Chesbursters. If one of them manages to get on
your face, wiggle the joystick left and right until Predator Hunter
tears it to shreds using its WristBlades.
However,
if you're about half screen away from them, they wont block for some
reason. They cannot block Predator Hunter's last hit of the Normal
Attack Pattern. They are also vulnerable to the Shoulder Cannon, and
Escape Move. If you have an opportunity, hit them from behind. They
can't block from behind.
A good combo against Warriors would be: ATK x 4, Forward+Jump(ATKx3),
and then follow up with a Shoulder Cannon blast. Predator Hunter should
lay in 6-7 hits at them. Hitting one is good, but hitting two or more is
better. The Shoulder Cannon blast should affect any surrounding enemies
if they dare to come up at you.
Other combos you might want to try with Predator Hunter..
1. ATK x4, Down-Up+Attack(6-7 hits)
2. ATK x4, Forward+Jump(ATKx3), Shoulder Cannon, High Cannonball Attack.
(This combo is very damaging. Following the Shoulder Cannon blast,
quickly execute a High Cannonball Attack. Predator Hunter should hit
them the moment they are knocked to the ground after the initial blast.)
3. Forward+Jump(ATKx3), High Cannonball Attack, Shoulder Cannon
(This is a tricky combo. It's not like the normal 3-hit Dash Kick you do
in #2. After the first two hits of the Dash Kick, quickly press the
Joystick to the opposite direction and hit ATK a third time. If done
properly, Predator Hunter will shift to the opposite direction with a
kick.)
They usually come at you
vulnerable, so use this opportunity to lay a High Cannonball Attack on
them.
Its defense is as its best here, as they keep
spitting acid in all directions around its body preventing you from
laying a hit on them. Usually a Shoulder Cannon blast can do the trick.
The basic combo attack you could do
is the following: ATK x4, Down-Up + Attack, and then when they get up,
quickly execute a High Cannonball Attack. Also, keeping them on one side
is a good way to start.
Then use High
Cannonball. If you try to use Shoulder Cannon or attack him when he's
not even close, the Chrysalis will jump and claw you -OR- it will use a
Tail Whack that most likely will hit you.
The best way to beat this guy is constant usage of High Cannonball.
After its initial dropdown, execute a High Cannonball. When it gets up,
execute it again. Make sure you are using the HIGH CANNONBALL, which
means UP+JUMP, DOWN+JUMP. Repeat and eventually you'll get the pattern
and kill it easily. There are more risky ways to kill this boss, but I
will only leave this to you when you are more experienced. Like
Chrysalis, Razor Claws also has one full energy bar, only that Razor
Claws take less damage from your attacks.
OFFENSE - For Predator Hunter, killing the Queen can prove quite
difficult. There are many ways to defeat her. There is a glitch that
allows you to lay in dozens of hits at her. After the demonstration,
blast your Shoulder Cannon to destroy that first egg. Now stand 1-2
steps away from her bigger claws. Constantly press ATK. With just the
right distance, she wont be able to counter. By the time she tries,
she'll be stunned.
Another way to get this Queen, is to use the Pulse Rifle and shoot when
she is facing YOU. It should take no less than 35% of her overall
energy. Then you can use the remaining time to use straight aerial
Shoulder Cannon blasts(Jump, Forward+Gun) when she is facing away from
you. When she turns around, dash to the other direction and repeat. You
can also do this with the Smart Disc.
Now go up to its back and toss a
grenade, but at the SAME TIME do a Wristblades Uppercut. The damage will
also miscalculate, and the overall damage will be nearly tripled.
After
the Mad Predator's initial dropdown, do a High Cannonball on it. Dash to
the direction opposite the Mad Predator's knockdown, and repeat. You'll
notice that Mad Predator will always walk up to you.
2. This one is harder to explain without a map, but I'll try my best.
After the Mad Predator's initial dropdown, start a seven-hitter on it
(ATKx4, Down-Up+Attack). Now watch where Mad Predator gets knocked down.
Stand on a spot where you can draw a diagonal line between you and the

Okay, so you've used one of these tactics and it's on low energy. Get

Mad Predator is hard if you're not careful. Make sure not to get close

you'll be sorry!
ROUND 7 - ALIEN QUEEN #2 - So you busted down the tough-ass Mad

only this time without her egg sac. Also, her energy bar is roughly 25%

Okay, for one-player, you have two Super Magazines(assuming you didn't

How do we kill her?
Tactic #1 - Risky, but not THAT risky - If you managed to save a Super
Magazine from the previous area, grab it before the demonstration
starts. After it's over, start holding down the Gun button, blasting the
Alien Queen at her inner body. If she comes close, execute an Escape
move. Now, you should have some seconds left. Take two to three steps

High Cannonballs at her when she is close.
Tactic #2 - Effective, not very risky - There's a few things you should
do with this tactic:
a. When she is close to you, execute High Cannonball ability.
======================================================================
== 3-C. Lieutenant. Linn Kurosawa ==
======================================================================
Lt. Linn Kurosawa is an overall different character than both the
Predators. She is MUCH tougher to use. Her overall speed is a bit
slower, but her skill is massive. She also has low power, which means
her hits don't do as much damage.
However, her gun is VERY reliable. You'd be using that gun of hers for
over 60% of the game. That's how reliable it is.
To quick reload her Large Caliber Pistol, and this is a MUST, wait until
you're about out of ammo and then High Jump and shoot. After her landing
sequence, press the Gun button once. You should reload thrice as fast,
and you can move around, too!
Deadly or Not?

For Linn, it's usually better to let the egg open, then use your gun to
shoot like crazy. The Face Hugger that jumps out will get caught in the
firepower, committing suicide.
The Busy Little Creatures

When? In Rounds 4 and 7.
Why? Annoyance

Huggers and Slide Attacks for Chestbursters. If one of them manages to
get on your face, wiggle the joystick left and right until Linn tears it
to shreds using her hands.
Note: You get score for shooting these critters with Linn, unlike the
Predators.
However,
if you're about half screen away from them, they won't block for some
reason. Your Pistol can push them FAR back, putting them to a point
where they can't defend themselves anymore. If you have an opportunity,
hit them from behind. They can't block from behind.
-URGENT----> When you
see a Warrior jumping back, that means they're about to spit 3 chunks of
acid at you. Use the time to stay away from that, either by walking
up/down or shooting at them before they can get a chance to spit their
blood at you.
A good combo against Warriors would be: ATK x 5(x4 without her Katana),
Forward x2, and then follow up with a pistol blast. Hitting one is good,
but hitting two or more is better.
Slide attacks works very well
against these critters, but make sure you are hitting more than one at
once. Usually if you miss or don't knock them down, another one will
have a 50/50 chance of scoring an attack.
NOTE: Your Pistol is the best weapon when fighting Smashers. Keep them
on one side and start Jump Blasting away. Remember that Linn will
reload her gun faster if you shoot while jumping. Just hit the Attack
button once when she's on the ground to quick reload.
Use your pistol often here, but remember the quick
reload ability. Shooting at multiple Arachnoids is great! Usually
another one will come from the air. Evade that, and repeat....
Other combos you might want to try with Linn Kurosawa:
1. ATK x5, Forward x2, Pistol Blast
(Basic combo, best against Warriors and Arachnoids)
2. Long slide, Forward x2, Charged Blast Attack
(Best against Smashers)
3. ATK x5, Down-Up+Attack
(Her regular 8-hitter, also good against Warriors)
There are more insane combos you can try out.
In this case, try to High Dash over them
as they are in their rolling sequence. Other options are to hit them
from behind or try to score a "last hit" from the Normal Attack Pattern.
b. Claw-Claw-Tail (3-hitter) - Usually does a bit over 50% damage, which
is devastating. Don't let them do this to you. If they manage to get the
first hit, use an Escape Move RIGHT AWAY!
Keep them on one side, and one side only. They usually come at you
vulnerable, so use this opportunity to shoot them. One of them may try
to jump and claw you, but they'll miss if you use air shots.
Multiple Acid Shields - It will occasionally do this when you're close
to it, or when they are damaged too much. Its defense is as its best here,
as they keep spitting acid in all directions around its body preventing
you from laying a hit on them. Shoot them with the Pistol.
The basic combo attack you could do
is the following: ATK x5, Down-Up + Attack, and then when they get up,
quickly repeat the combo.
2. Against The Military Grunts
------------------------------
Who? Private, Sergeant, Corporal
What? They work for the Weyland Yutani Corporation. Privates wear brass
armor, Sergeants wears blue armor, and Corporals wear red armor.
When? Rounds 5, 6, 7
Where? They're never with aliens.
Why? To kill your character.
How to kill them?
All of the grunts share the same attacks. From kicks to Pulse Rifles,
Knives, Smartguns, and Power Loaders! The Corporals have the longest
energy of all grunts, but nonetheless, these grunts take more damage
from your attacks.
Their strengths - What they can use, and teamwork.
Their weaknesses - They always trying to look for a weapon before they
truly attack, leaving them totally vulnerable. Use this opportunity to
attack them. Best thing is to use their weapons AGAINST THEM!!
The Smartgunners are the ones that truly does damage to you. And it does
a heavy amount of damage if you're not careful. Hit guys from the back
are a good start. AIR attacks works best against them. As well as your
pistol.
10-30% of its health, and the Warriors when it lost around 60-80% of its
health. It varies. Use this opportunity to lay in ATK x5, Down-Up +
Attack combo at it. You will have between a 3-4 second window at this.
The other thing about this boss is that it constantly jumps around. Keep
him on one side and wait for them to come at you. Then you can use some
High Aerial Pistol shots at them. If you try to use the pistol or attack
him when he's not even close on the ground, the Chrysalis will jump and
claw you -OR- it will use a Tail Whack that most likely will hit you.
With the Predators, it was easy work. But this time, it proves more
difficult. With Linn, you're going to have to use your surroundings. The
pistol is still useful though. There is a Super Magazine in the vicinity
in one of the crates. That REALLY helps, and not to mention the Pulse
Rifle you get as well.
When you see Razor Claws jump toward you, use an Escape Move. When you
see it dashes toward you, use an Escape Move.
OFFENSE - If you had read my FAQ/Walkthrough for this game, you'd know
that I said something about an "aerial style of combat used against this
Queen with no pain onto you". Well, I am about to tell you this right
now.
After the demonstration, go up inside her body. Execute a High Jumping
Stab. Now Keep pressing Down + Attack, and you'd notice Linn rebounds
off her backbone. That's your typical infinite right there! It was easy
to explain. Very effective!
I have been using this strategy for so long, and I've been able to pull
it off without landing on the ground during the sequence of hits!
Now go up to its back and toss a
grenade, but at the SAME TIME do a Koiiyaku(Down-Up+Attack). The damage
will also miscalculate, and the overall damage will be nearly tripled.
1. This one is harder to explain without a map, but I'll try my best.
After the Mad Predator's initial dropdown, start a eight-hitter on it
(ATKx5, Down-Up+Attack).
Avoid this by High Dashing out of
the way.
For Linn, we're going to use a different method of killing the Alien
Queen. The Super Magazines are still quite useful. Now I can't exactly
tell you how to beat this Alien Queen in sequence, but I can give you
some good tips.
1. LOSE the Katana. You wont need it. Simply get knocked down, and
you'll drop it. Do NOT pick it back up. Now the reason why I told you to
do this is because her Escape Move WITHOUT the katana is MORE useful.
2. Use Aerial Pistol Shots only. Keep a distance, though. If you shoot
straight at her, she'll suffer pretty badly, due to your constant
shooting. If she manages to get close, use an Escape Move.
3. If you picked up a Super Magazine, use ground shots only. (If you
want to take the risk of aerial shots, then be my guest.) When she comes
close, use an Escape Move.
4. The Pulse Rifles are there for a reason. So is the healing item.
After you kill the Alien Queen, it's the end of the game.

== 3-D. Major Dutch Schaefer ==
======================================================================
Overall, Major is a pain to use.
His speed is very low compared to the other characters, but he has
immense strength, which means his attacks hurt like hell. The Major is
rigged with a Smartgun. Now this isn't the Smartgun like the soldiers
carry, but in fact a more watered-down version of it.
The Major is best for fighting groups of xenomorphs and soldiers. That's
where his immense strength comes into place. I will be giving strategies
based off of fighting groups at once.
Killing Face Huggers, Egg Chambers, and Chestbursters shouldn't be much
a problem.
1. Against Warriors/Royal Guards - Grab one by the neck, and then ground
smash him(Grab, Jump-Down+Attack) on top of other aliens. This will
knock most aliens down and give you time to grab another or to walk
away.
2. Against Smashers - Use Normal Attack Pattern when up close.
3. Against Arachnoids - When they are in the air about to come down
toward you, execute a Down-Up+Attack. You should be able to counter.
When they're on the ground, use Normal Attack Pattern.
4. Against Stalkers/Defenders - Try to grab them and use the same tactic
you did with the Warriors. Only try to grab them while they're crawling
around.
5. Against Privates/Sergeants/Corporals - Use their weapons against
them. It comes in handy. Make sure that when you're shooting a Pulse
Rifle or a Smartgun, don't let the guys come close before starting fire.
They might hit you due to your reaching out shooting the guns.
The BOSSES
----------
I can only give true strategies on how to beat certain bosses. The
others I'm still trying to find a good solution.
ROUND 4 - ALIEN QUEEN - Go up inside her body. Execute a Down-Up+Attack,
and then while Major is in the air, press the shoot button, aiming at
her body. It dishes out quite a lot of damage. Rinse and Repeat.
ROUND 5 - POWER LOADER - Same strategy applies from the other
characters. The grenades are friendly. Saving Pulse Rifles is a good
start as well.
ROUND 6 - MAD PREDATOR - This one is harder to explain without a map,
but I'll try my best. After the Mad Predator's initial dropdown, start a
four-hitter on it (ATKx4). Now watch where Mad Predator gets knocked
down. Stand on a spot where you can draw a diagonal line between you and
the Mad Predator and mash on Attack. Make sure you FACE the Mad
Predator. If done properly, Mad Predator will walk up to your attacking
sequence and get hit itself.
Use an Escape move when Mad Predator is using any one of its Shoulder
Cannon abilities.
======================================================================
== 4. Tips and Tricks ==
======================================================================
- Try to keep your foes on one side!
- Use your gun often, but try not to overheat. Yes, it does sound
like a pain in the ass. Hence why I said "try"! Your gun knocks them
down, giving you time to get away and plan your next strategy.
- Except for Major Dutch Schaefers limitations, using air attacks
with other characters is very effective!
- Always do combos.
- Never stand in one spot.
- Some areas have timers(hidden). You may notice at times that the
game is telling you to hurry up with a timer displayed on screen.
Plan your next strategies fast. There's very little time to think.
- Each ability has their own uses. Except for Linn, try to grab
an enemy and slam them on top of other enemies. Only pummel them
when they're alone, or you're highly confident that the pummel
sequence will affect other enemies. Sometimes it does, ya know!
- Don't be thinking when you get Xenomorphs and Marines on screen
at the time same they will attack each other. It wont happen. Also,
Sentry Guns firepower doesn't affect the Marines.
- Don't underestimate any weapons you pick up. The Knife and Pipe
are far more useful than you think.
- Escape Move when all the enemies are a pain in the ass surrounding
you, or when you're in other dangerous situations!
- This game is best played with two or three players. The difference
is that there are more enemies on screen, more items/health, and
bosses have longer life bars.(With three players, the final Alien
Queen have almost two FULL life bars. Also, with 2+ players, you
fight two Mad Predators instead of one, with a Medikit.)
