III. ~INTRODUCTION~                                                      [Intr]
===================

This guide is for the Nintendo 3DS eshop game "The Legend of Dark Witch,"
intended to aid players in obtaining Pura Syega. Pura Syega are crystals that,
when found, increase the level of one of the skills in your Enforcement Slots
(in other words, the number of times you can Install the skill to upgrade it).
There are six varieties of Pura Syega crystals, each one corresponding to a
different skill:

Blue   = Speed
Orange = Wing  / Dash
Pink   = Line  / Fire
Red    = Comet / Sword
Yellow = Power / Extra
Green  = Guard

The skills for each character differ slightly. Zizou has Wing/Line/Comet/Power;
Riva has Dash/Fire/Sword/Extra. Both characters have Guard as their final
skill.

The Pura Syega crystals are invisible until you physically interact with them.
There are two ways to reveal them; you can either move to the exact place that
they're located, or shoot them several times until they eventually appear. Once
they are revealed, they will slowly descend to ground level until you collect
them.

There are two Pura Syega crystals hidden in each of the six main levels. The
game mentions at one point that the crystals are located at the beginning and
end of each level, but that's not exactly accurate. The only rule is that one
crystal is found  before the halfway point of a level, and one after. (All of
them are found past the white line where the area "stabilizes" and transitions
from the ethereal surroundings at the start of the level, to the real world.)
Once you defeat all six bosses and obtain all twelve crystals located within
their levels, you'll unlock a new level containing one more Pura Syega Crystal,
for a total of thirteen crystals throughout the game for each character.

The types of crystals found in each individual level are the same for both
Zizou and Riva, but the crystals are hidden in different places for each
character. We'll go over the crystal locations by character and by level.

*All Pura Syega locations for Zizou were provided by Rufus Kyura of the game's
GameFAQs board. Thus half the credit for the guide goes to Rufus.

**GameFAQs user avengah brought something to my attention. Even though there
are three crystals for upgrading Line/Fire and Comet/Rain, you cannot actually
upgrade those abilities three extra times. Some testing has revealed that none
of the Syega crystals located in Belfer Islands have any effect, for either
Zizou or Riva. The only reason to collect them would be to unlock the final
Pura Syega crystal.

IV. ~ZIZOU OLYMPIA~                                                      [Zzou]
===================

---------------
HEAVEN'S GARDEN (1 Blue crystal; 1 Pink crystal)
---------------

(1) SPEED LVL UP - At the beginning of the level, after the falling books, you
will come across a Magic Dictionary (the one-eyed books that shoots pages at
you). Stand on the upper level (not too up, just where the book can't hit you)
and shoot directly in front of you. If you have Liner Shot on level 2, you
should be able to hit an invisible object. If not, hop and shoot to reveal
the Blue Pura Syega Crystal.

(2) LINE LVL UP - At the end of the level, you will come across a book
suspended in the air shooting down pages from above and, in front of you, a
bubble key on a small alcove. Grab that key, open the door to the platforms
ahead and move forward through said platforms. There will be two more books
like the one from before, shooting down pages. After those two, there will be
a platform. Stand on the left ledge, turn to the right, jump and shoot. You
will hit another invisible object. Keep shooting to reveal the Pink Syega
Crystal.

----------------
SILENT ICE ROADS (1 Orange crystal; 1 Yellow crystal)
----------------

(1) WING LVL UP - After a Crush Ice (exploding snowflake), you will come across
a few Papa Snowmen. Kill them and, right after them, there will be a
Jet Penguin below a platform with a Snowman, on the platform, throwing
snowballs, a ghost blowing wind on your direction and a small hole leading down
to the penguin. Destroy the penguin and jump down the hole, right in the
middle. That should reveal an Orange Syega Crystal.

(2) POWER LVL UP - This crystal requires the Wing skill. After you climb a set
of platforms where there are two jet penguins flying around on the way up and
three ghosts blowing air through a wall, there will be a long fall. Go down,
and use the Wing skill to hover over to an otherwise unreachable platform
halfway down. Just run to the third crystal torch and you will pick up a
Yellow Crystal.

---------------
PORTS-MATH CITY (1 Red crystal; 1 Pink crystal)
---------------

(1) COMET LVL UP - When you reach a switching orb (those red/blue spheres that
switch colors after you hit them) with a red and blue horizontal platforms
ahead of it, jump onto the blue platform. Turn to the left, jump and shoot.
You will hit the location of the Red Crystal.

(2) LINE LVL UP - After three platforms with red and blue boxes on them,
there is a segment containing a few red and blue blocks in a rectangular form;
stay on top by moving through the red blocks. When you reach a platform with a
dwarf that shoots three spears, stand on the right edge (just behind the tree)
and jump. You will find the second Pink Crystal.

---------------
TWILIGHT PRISON (1 Blue crystal; 1 Red crystal)
---------------

(1) SPEED LVL UP - Right at the beginning of the stage, there will be two
platforms lined up with a red fairy at the top. Jump and shoot at the very peak
of your jump. You're going to hit the Blue Crystal's location, causing it to
fall down to the dwarves below.

(2) COMET LVL UP - Halfway through the stage, you will come across a room with
two boost panels pointing up, as well as two skeletons walking below you
(indicated by "DANGER!!" notes). Fall down, then take the first short panel
pointing up. You will pass through the Red Crystal.

------------------------
CHELSEA SCHOOL DORMITORY (1 Orange crystal; 1 Yellow crystal)
------------------------

(1) WING LVL UP - Shortly into the level, after walking down the stairs and
encountering the birds and multiplying dragons, there will be a few platforms
leading up. Keep walking on ground level until you reach the wall, and jump up
to reveal the Orange Crystal.

(2) POWER LVL UP - Just before the end of the level, there will be an area with
a bunch of green blocks; some real, some disappearing. Carefully try to make
your way to the highest level of blocks; one of these blocks (there is a bird
perched on the bottom of it) has the Yellow Crystal directly above it.

--------------
BELFER ISLANDS (1 Pink crystal; 1 Red crystal)
--------------

(1) LINE LVL UP - At the beginning of the stage, right after the fourth crab,
keep walking under the log platforms. You'll see a small platform to the right.
The Pink Crystal is above that platform; either shoot or jump around to reveal
it.

(2) COMET LVL UP - At the very end of the stage, right next to the boss portal,
go to the right edge, jump and you should reveal the Red Crystal.

----------------
FOREST OF DREAMS (1 Green crystal)
----------------

GUARD - After the first forest section of the level, you'll reach an area that
looks similar to the entrance of any level, but in the dark. Make your way
through this area until you reach a wall with a few green platforms leading to
the top. Jump on the first platform, then the second. Jump to the left again
and you'll be in a small alcove; the Green Pura Syega Crystal is located
inside.

==================
V. ~PRINCESS RIVA~                                                       [Riva]
==================

---------------
HEAVEN'S GARDEN (1 Blue crystal; 1 Pink crystal)
---------------

(1) SPEED LVL UP - When you reach the fourth Magic Dictionary of the level
(the yellow books that shoot pages at you), kill it and jump up onto the
platform just to the right of it. (Be careful of the one on the right side of
the screen as well.) Then jump over as high as you can above where the Magic
Dictionary was to reveal the Blue Crystal.

(2) FIRE LVL UP - A little past the halfway point, after unlocking the doors
and passing under the books, you'll find a platform that's difficult to reach.
A simple Dash Jump will get you to the platform, or a regular jump if your
speed/jumping height is sufficient. Go to the right end of this platform, and
jump to reveal the Pink Crystal.

----------------
SILENT ICE ROADS (1 Orange crystal; 1 Yellow crystal)
----------------

(1) DASH LVL UP - When you reach the first area where you have to zigzag
upwards, in the top left corner will be a transparent frozen pillar of ice.
The Orange Crystal is doing its best to remain hidden near the top of this
pillar; either shoot it down or reach it from the right platform.

(2) EXTRA LVL UP - Just after the halfway point, you'll reach a point where
you can either take the ground level or the upper platforms. Stay up top and
go as far to the right as you can, until the point where you have to fall down
a cliff. In the middle of this cliff, at the very top, is the Yellow Pura Syega
Crystal.

---------------
PORTS-MATH CITY (1 Red crystal; 1 Pink crystal)
---------------

(1) SWORD LVL UP - A little ways into the level, there will be a narrow pathway
with a Red/Blue orb, followed by a Blue Block wall, then a Red Block wall.
Between the blue wall and the red wall, up in the air, is the Red crystal.

(2) FIRE LVL UP - In the second half of the level, you'll reach a large open
space filled with Red/Blue orbs and blocks, and boomerang throwing beasts. The
Pink Pura Syega Crystal is located between the last set of blue blocks; you can
either stay down on the ground and attack it, or traverse the block path to
reach it.

---------------
TWILIGHT PRISON (1 Blue crystal; 1 Red crystal)
---------------

(1) SPEED LVL UP - This one is very tricky. You can only access it BEFORE the
area stabilizes, but it's actually located past the white line. When you go up
the stairs and kill the Kinoppis (mushroom-head girls), there's a point where
you can either zigzag downward or jump to the upper path on the right. You're
going to need either enhanced speed, dash, or jumping ability to reach the
right path, and when you do, go to the right ledge.
The crystal is in the open air to your right. Now, to get it, you can either
take a leap of faith hoping you hit it, or try to reveal it by shooting it.
Shooting it will be impossible if you don't have any special weapons or haven't
enhanced your Fire skill. Just one Fire upgrade is enough to reach the crystal
if you're at the very edge. But the crystal is *just* above where your shots
can reach, so you'll have to jump a bit to shoot it. In any case, after a lot
of trouble, you'll eventually obtain the hard-earned Blue Pura Syega crystal.

(2) SWORD LVL UP - After the first few skeletons you meet, you'll see a small
Down arrow leading to a pit with some spear throwers. Follow the arrow, and on
the way down you'll reveal the Red crystal.

------------------------
CHELSEA SCHOOL DORMITORY (1 Orange crystal; 1 Yellow crystal)
------------------------

(1) DASH LVL UP - When you first enter the dormitory, there will be a set of
green blocks. Four of them are disappearing blocks, and the Orange crystal is
hidden within them.

(2) EXTRA LVL UP - After the halfway point, there will be a large area with a
bunch of green blocks, some of them disappearing. At one point you'll be
standing on some large blue blocks that are between two sets of green blocks.
Continue to the right past the two birds under you, and when you see would
normally fall down, jump to the right instead. The Orange crystal is located
exactly where the two birds are perched.

--------------
BELFER ISLANDS (1 Pink crystal; 1 Red crystal)
--------------

(1) FIRE LVL UP - When you reach the area with log platforms overhead, keep
walking along the beach (take out the crabs along the way). Jump up onto the
next part of the beach when you have to, and you can find the Pink Pura Syega
Crystal in the air, just below the log platform that's high above you. You
can't reach it, so you will have to shoot it down.

(2) SWORD LVL UP - After the halfway point, you will occasionally come across
some totem poles that create rain when you touch them. When you find the
second such pole, jump onto the platform after it, standing between a tiki
torch and a flying... thing. You will find the Red crystal directly underneath
this... thing.

----------------
FOREST OF DREAMS (1 Green crystal)
----------------

GUARD - In the same area as Zizou's crystal was found (dark area with
platforms and large wall), find the lone archer hovering over a gap. Kill it,
then fall down the gap that it was hovering over. On the way down you will
reveal the final, Green Pura Syega Crystal.
