1) Introduction [INTRO]
Here's another Guide for this Game for you! This time we're going over the
Special Powers you can equip and use in Smash Run.
This Guide will tell you how the Powers work, how they're equipped, and will
also tell you how to unlock them. There of course will be listings afterwards
for easier access to find out which Powers you may still need.
Well, let's get to it shall we?

2) What Are Smash Run Powers? [WHAT?]
Smash Run Powers are special abilities or items that can be used in Smash Run
Mode. You can only equip these items when in the Customization Menu for a
Character via the Smash Run Menus.
Equipping the right powers can really help you in a pinch during the 5 Minute
run through the Smash Run Maze. You don't have to use Smash Run Powers, but
they can make the difference between being beaten senseless by the enemies in
the Maze or taking them out easier for huge Stat Boosts.
There are a total of 44 different Powers, each with 4 Level Versions of them
for a grand total of 176 Powers all together. While you can unlock 14 of the
Powers by completing Challenges, the other 162 can only be unlocked by finding
Smash Power Bags in Smash Run itself. Now, I personally haven't seen it
myself, but I'm not sure if you can get Smash Powers by winning matches in
StreetSmash which is a Mode that uses StreetPass. If you know otherwise, shoot
me an e-mail and I'll give you credit.
Smash Run Powers are found in Bags with a rainbow "?" sticker on them. You
can usually find them in Chests or by defeating strong enemies like Bonkers
or Grim Reapers, though some minor enemies like Goombas or Mettaurs may drop
them randomly, though this is rare.
Once you grab a Bag, you won't know what Power you've collected until after
the Final Battle at the end of Smash Run. If you quit Smash Run before the
Final Battle is over, you lose any Power Bags you found.

A) Types [TYPES]
There are 8 types of Smash Run Powers, here's a quick rundown of each:
-> Direct Attack: These Powers create special attacks that can do massive
Damage to enemies when used correctly. These Powers are
red in color.
-> Ability Boost: These Powers can temporarily increase your Attack and/or
Special Stats or even all your Stats in some cases. These
Powers are yellow in color.
-> Attack Boost: These Powers can temporarily increase the strength of certain
attacks from various parts of Character's body like their
hands or feet. These Powers are orange in color.
-> Defense: These Powers increase your defense against attacks and in some
cases can even reflect projectiles back at enemies. These Powers
are blue in color.
-> Healing: Some of these Powers will automatically replenish Damage you've
taken, though others require more footwork to restore Damage.
These Powers are light blue in color.
-> Movement: These Powers do everything from warp you around the Smash Maze, to
altering your jumping abilities. These Powers are green in color.
-> Smash Items: These Powers equip you with the Item pictured on the Power's
Icon. These Powers are gray in color.
-> Effects: Made of the Shuffle and Random Powers, these Powers cause random
things to happen with your Stats or use another Smash Run Power at
random. These Powers are purple in color.

B) Levels [LEVEL]
As mentioned before, each of the 44 available Powers have 4 Level grades that
must be unlocked seperately, though you start with 9 of them (see Section 2-E).
Levels determine how effective a Power is, how long timed ones last, how many
times they can be used, and the weight requirement for equipping them.
For example, Lv.1 Brief Invincibilty has a weight of 3 and can be used twice.
However, Lv.4 Brief Invincibilty has a weight of 6, and can be used five times.
While high Level Powers are great, their weight makes it harder to equip
several Powers as your weight is limited and lighter Customized Characters
won't be able to equip more than a couple high Level Powers. See the next
Section for details.

C) Applying Powers [APPLY]
In the Customization Menu via Smash Run, select the "POWERS" Option. You can
equip a maximum of 6 Powers to a customized Character or Mii, but that doesn't
mean you'll always be able to.
Each Character or Mii has a certain amount of weight. Weight is different for
each Character or Mii depending on their size and speed. Weight can be raised
by lowering Speed using Custom Defense Equipment in the Equipment Menu, or
lowered by using Custom Agility Equipement.
Each Smash Power has it's own weight stat. As you equip Powers, the weight
meter fills up. If a Power's weight would go beyond the meter's limit, it
can't be equipped.
For example, let's say your Character's weight is 24. Now after applying
Powers, the total weight of those Powers is 20. That leaves you with a 4
Weight limit left to apply any other Powers. However, if the Power you want
to equip has a weight of 5 or more, you can't equip it.
Powers will also unequip themselves automatically if you change the weight
of your Character in the Equipment Menu making the Character lighter to the
point that current Powers that are equipped go beyond the new weight limit.
I won't list too many weight settings for Characters or Miis because that would
take too long to list every probablity. I will however list the default
weights of the 48 normal Characters and the 4 DLC Characters. As for Miis,
their weight shifts depending on the height and weight you set for a Mii in
the Mii Maker, so I'll just list a Mii that hasn't had it's height or weight
shifted from it's default position.

Defense Equipment lowers your Character's speed, while Agility Equipment
raises it. When applying Equipment from the Custom Menu in Smash Run, you'll
see a Stat that says "Items" which keeps tabs on your Character's current
Weight. When you have Equipment highlighted, check that Stat to see if the
Equipment will raise or lower it.

D) Using Powers [USEIT]
Using Powers is rather simple. During your run through the Smash Maze, tap
the Power you want to use on the Touch Screen. The Power will activate
automatically and deduct one use from that Power.
If a Power has no more uses, it will be shaded out and can't be selected for
the rest of that current run.
There are occassions when you can't use a Power. For example, some Item
Powers won't work if you've grabbed an Enemy. You also can't use similar
Powers when one of them has been activated. For example, you can't use a Lv.3
Reflector, then select a Lv.2 Reflector while the Lv.3 one is still active.
If a Power can't be used because of circumstances like this, they'll be shaded
out until the current Power has worn off.
There are no penalties for using Powers, so use them when you feel they're
necesary. Just keep tabs on how many uses each Power has and use them
sparringly to great effect.

E) Starting Powers [START]
Whenever you start SSB for 3DS from the very beginning, you'll always start
with 9 Smash Run Powers. These Powers are the same Starting Powers for
everyone who plays the Game:
-> Lv.1 Power Bomb
A small explosive with good range and decent attack power.
-> Lv.1 Meteor Shower
Sends down 4 meteors in quick succession doing great damage to enemies in
front of you.
-> Lv.1 Smash Extend
Extends your charge time for Smash Attacks for a short time to allow for
greater Damage.
-> Lv.1 Strong Punch
Increases the power of arm based attacks like punches or jabs for a short
time.
-> Lv.1 Strong Kick
Increases the power of leg based attacks like kicks and stomps for a short
time.
-> Lv.1 Health Recovery
Replenishes Damage done when used, though not much. More Damage can be
healed if your Arms Stat is higher.
-> Lv.1 Warp
After a few seconds, this will warp you to a random location in the Maze.
It won't work if you're attacked before it can warp you however.
-> Lv.1 High Jump
Increases the height of jumps and mid-air jumps for a short time.
-> Lv.1 Beam Sword
Equips you with a Beam Sword when used. This Level Beam Sword can only be
used once.

3) Using This Guide [USING]
Throughout the following Sections, each Power will be listed within their
respective categories. They'll be listed the way they would under the
"Category" sorting in the Game and each Power will be listed like so:
-> Power Name
Description: Info on what it does.
Icon: Describes what the Power's Icon looks like.
Lv.1 Uses: How many times this Level can be used.
Lv.1 Weight: How heavy the Level is.
Lv.1 Length: Length of attack, duration of power, etc.
Lv.2 Uses:
Lv.2 Weight:
Lv.2 Length:
etc.,etc.
If the Power must be unlocked via clearing a Challenge, it will be noted with
a "**CHALLENGE ###**" label in the Level Length with the number refering to the
matching Challenge number in Section 13. The numbering is based off of the
numbering in my Challenges Guide. If it's a Starter Power, it'll have a
**STARTER** Label instead. Now, the exception to this is Item Powers which
will instead have note under the Weight info. I should also mention that
Powers that encompass a certain chunk of terrain will be measured by "Marios"
which takes into consideration the height and width of the Character, Mario.

4) Direct Attack Powers [DIR00]
Direct Attacks rely on explosives or energy based attacks to do damage to
enemies in the Smash Maze. Because they're actual attacks, they can be useful
both on the ground and in the air. Direct Attacks are red in color. These
attacks always do the same amount of set Damage regardless of your current
Stats.

A) Power Bomb [DIR01]
Description: Drops an explosive that looks like a Power Bomb from the
Metroid Games. It's blast radius is determined by the Level.
The bomb itself is always dropped in front of your Character.
Icon: Power Bomb's Icon has a picture of an explosion on it.
Lv.1 Uses: 2
Lv.1 Weight: 4
Lv.1 Length: Blast radius is about 3 "Marios" in diameter. It can do close
to 32% damage on average not considering weakness to fire based
attacks. **STARTER**
Lv.2 Uses: 3
Lv.2 Weight: 7
Lv.2 Length: Blast radius is about 5 "Marios" in diameter. It can do close
to 34% damage on average not considering weakness to fire based
attacks.
Lv.3 Uses: 4
Lv.3 Weight: 10
Lv.3 Length: Blast radius is about 6 "Marios" in diameter. It can do close
to 36% damage on average not considering weakness to fire based
attacks.
Lv.4 Uses: 5

Lv.4 Length: Blast radius is about 8 "Marios" in diameter. It can do close
to 38% damage on average not considering weakness to fire based
attacks.

B) Heavenly Light [DIR02]
Description: You may recoginze this Power as one of the random things that
happens during the maze run. This Power creates a pillar of
light that does damage to any enemies that go into it. It
always shines directly downward toward your Character and has
weak attack power. It always lasts about 11-12 seconds and
always does 1% Damage continously for the duration of how long
an enemy is under the light.
Icon: Heavenly Light's Icon has a picture of a guy surrounded by a beam of
bluish-green light on it.

Lv.1 Length: The width of the light pillar is about 2 "Marios" wide and
about 4 tall.

C) Meteor Shower [DIR03]
Description: When used, this Power sends down giant blasts similar to Ness'
PK Starstorm doing heavy damage to enemies dumb enough to get
hit by them. The blasts are always about 1 Mario tall and
wide. Each blast has the possibility of damaging an enemy
twice in quick succession.
Icon: Meteor Shower's Icon has a picture of a falling meteor on it.
Lv.1 Uses: 2

Lv.1 Length: Sends four blasts forward in front of the Character that does
11-22% Damage each depending on which part of the blast hits
the enemy. **STARTER**

D) Horizon Beam [DIR04]
Description: When used, this Power unleashes a blast from one side of the
screen to other in the position where the Character was when
it was activated and always starts from behind your Character.
The blast is quick and lasts only about 2 seconds, but it can
be devestating to groups of small enemies.
Icon: Horizon Beam's Icon has a picture of large, purple beam starting from
the left side on it.

"Marios" behind you, and can do up to 36% Damage with each

E) Launch Ring [DIR05]
Description: Launch Rings only do about 1% Damage, but they can send
enemies flying when used hence their name. The higher the
Level, the bigger the Ring. It's always started from the
center of the Character themself and within a second grows
to it's maximum width before disappearing.

green half-circle on it.

F) Shocking Taunt [DIR06]
Description: When you use this Power, you'll be empowered for a short time
with the ability to fire a bolt of lightning when you Taunt.
The direction you tap on the D-Pad determines where the bolt
is fired. During this time, your Character's outline will
flash red and you'll be able to use the Power for about 10
seconds. When time is about up, you'll hear a beeping sound.
Since you have to Taunt to use this Power, you can't use it
in the air.
Icon: Shocking Taunt's Icon has a picture of a lightning bolt with a D-Pad
symbol under it's left side on it.

Lv.1 Length: Each Lightning Bolt does 15% Damage not counting weaknesses
to electric attacks, is about 3 "Marios" long, and 1 "Mario"
high.

to electric attacks, is about 5 "Marios" long, and 1.25

to electric attacks, is about 7 "Marios" long, and 1.5 "Marios"

to electric attacks, is about 10 "Marios" long, and 2 "Marios"

G) Homing Missiles [DIR07]
Description: When used, this Power launches 2 small missiles that home in
on enemies doing damage and may make them flinch. The missiles
launch from your Character's current position and are about the
same size as Mario's body. If there are no enemies nearby, the
missiles will just shoot straight up and explode once they hit
a wall or ceiling.
Icon: Homing Missile's Icon has a picture of a small orange missile that
just did a curve on it.
Lv.1 Uses: 6
Lv.1 Weight: 7
Lv.1 Length: The missiles do 8% Damage each and move at average speed.
Lv.2 Uses: 8
Lv.2 Weight: 10
Lv.2 Length: The missiles do 11% Damage each and move only slightly faster
than the Lv.1 missiles.
Lv.3 Uses: 10
Lv.3 Weight: 13
Lv.3 Length: The missiles do 14% Damage each and their speed is somewhere
in between Fox and Captain Falcon's running speed.
Lv.4 Uses: 13
Lv.4 Weight: 17
Lv.4 Length: The missiles do 17% Damage each and their speed is close to
Sonic's running speed.

H) Dual Cyclone [DIR08]
Description: When used, this Power will generate two cyclones on either
side of your Character. They'll always stay where they were
spawned until they run out of power and disappear. While
they're spinning, any enemies that touch them will take Damage
and even be launched upwards if they're weak enough. Of note
is when I speak of the width of the cyclones, it refers to the
width at the top of the cyclone. The width grows shorter
closer to the bottom of the cyclone.

Description: When used, this Power creates a shield-like wave of energy
blades that rotate around your Character and damage enemies
dumb enough to get too close. How big the blades are depends
on the Power's level. The effect lasts for a little over 8
seconds on all Levels. A beeping sound will start and the
blades will start to fade when the time limit is almost up.

5) Ability Boost Powers [ABB00]
Ability Boosts are yellow in color and either increase your Stats, add
special effects to your attacks, or increase your offense. All of these
Boosts are temporary and while under their influence, your Character's
outline will flash yellow until the Power's effects wear off.

A) Devil's Pact [ABB01]
Description: So named due to the fact that it will temporarily raise your
Stats, but tacks on 300% Damage to your Character in the
process. As an added insult, after the effects wear off,
you'll still have that 300% Damage. You can however use
Healing Powers or Healing Items to lower the Damage without
losing the temporary Stat boosts. Of note is that if your
damage is already at 300% when you use any Devil's Pact Power,
it will raise your Stats until it reaches the maximum amount
it raises them to, then quickly go back down without being
able to take advantage of it.

B) Smash Extend [ABB02]
Description: Smash Extend does what it says. It extends your ability to
charge Smash Attacks from 2 seconds to 3 seconds allowing for
more Damage to be done with Smash Attacks. The only
difference between the Levels is the number of uses. All
Levels have a 10 Second time limit and you'll hear a beeping
sound when time is almost up. Another bonus of this Power is
that uncharged Smash Attacks also do a bit more Damage. With
this Power, you can do up to 4-10% additional Damage with
charged and uncharged Smash Attacks.

Description: When an enemy is defeated, it's launched doing Damage to any
enemies in it's launch path. What this Power does is turn
a defeated enemy into a guided missile when they're launched
making them home in on the nearest enemy. The effects are of
course temporary and you'll hear beeping when the effect is
about to wear off.

D) Payback [ABB04]
Description: This Power, when active, let's you do more Damage based off of
how much Damage you took before attacking an enemy. For
example, let's say you activate the Power then get pummeled by
a Shy Guy. After taking the Damage, your next attack's
strength will be temporarily increased based off of how much
damage you took. When you can "Payback" that damage, your
Character will be covered in flames, though the flames are
for show and don't really harm enemies. While your Character
is engulfed, attack to unleash that attack boost. The effects
of this Power are close to an end when you hear beeping.
The effect lasts 20 seconds regardless of Level with the only
difference between Levels being the number of uses.

E) Rage [ABB05]
Description: When activated, this Power increases your Offense and Special
by a certain amount. The amount is dependent on how much
Damage you've taken. The more Damage you have, the more your
Offense and Special will raise. For example, let's say you
just used Devil's Pact putting your Damage at 300%. When
using Lv.1 Rage, your Offense and Special would raise by 590
Points! The Stat boost is temporary, and your Stats will
return to normal levels once the effects wear off. You'll
hear beeping when that's about to happen. I should note that
the amounts that Stats cap refer to how much will be added to
your current Attack and Special Boosts.

Attack Boost Powers are self-explanatory and are orange in color. When used,
they'll increase the strength of attacks done by various parts of your
Character's body including feet, body, hands, etc. When under the influence
of an Attack Boost, your Character's outline will flash orange until the
effects wear off.

Description: This one boosts the strength of arm-based attacks like

7) Defense Powers [DEF00]
Defense Powers make it harder for enemies to get the best of you by blocking
attacks or even reflecting them back at them. If your Damage is high, a
Defense Power can make the difference between surviving or being KO'd
and losing Stat Boosts. Defense Powers are blue in color.

A) Reflector [DEF01]
Description: This Power works like Fox's reflector or the Franklin Badge
Item if you prefer. While it's active, it will reflect
projectiles away from you and back towards the enemies that
fired them. This won't reflect physical attacks, explosions,
or large energy blasts. All Levels last about 15 seconds with
the only difference between Levels being the amount of uses
available. While active, your outline will be blue and you'll
hear beeping when the Power is about to wear out.

seconds with the only difference between Levels being the
amount of uses available. While active, your outline will be
blue and you'll hear beeping when the Power is about to wear
off.

Description: This Power works a bit like a Super Star Item, but not as long
as one. It can mostly be used in a pinch when you need to get
away from large groups of enemies or a larger enemy like a
Clubberskull. All Levels last about 3 seconds with the only
difference between Levels being the amount of uses available.
While active, your outline will be blue and you'll be covered
in sparkles. There is no beeping when the Power is about to
wear off, so watch yourself.

up. Evershields prevent this shrinkage for a limited time.
This is useful when dealing with tougher enemies and you're
waiting for an opening without worrying about getting mashed.

between Levels being the amount of uses available. While
active, your outline will be blue and you'll hear beeping when
the Power is about to wear off.

8) Healing Powers [HEL00]
Healing Powers reduce the total amount of Damage you've taken and are light
blue in color. There aren't too many types of Healing Powers, but they can be
a blessing when you have heavy Damage as Recovery Items like Food or Maxim
Tomatoes are very rare to come by during the 5 Minute Maze Run.

A) Health Recovery [HEL01]
Description: This is the most straight-forward Healing Power. Just tap it
to replenish your Damage counter. How much you recover depends
on the Level of the Power and your current Arms Stat. All
Levels however have 3 uses so choose according to how skilled
you are at avoiding Damage so you can pick one with a lighter
weight to make room for other Powers in your arsenal.

Description: Auto-Recovery Powers are just what they say they are. Once
used, your Damage will be reduced by a set amount in small,
rapid-succession bursts of health. Each one only has 2 uses
and lasts about 15 seconds for each Level. However, each
Level replenishes different amounts of Damage. While this
Power is active, your outline will be light blue and you'll
hear a beeping noise when the 15 Second limit is almost up.

Description: Healing Shield Powers are the more advanced Health Recovery
Powers as you need to use your Shield to defend against attacks
to recover Health. Unlike other Health Recovery Items, the
only limit you have is a 20 second one. Other than that, your
Health recovers based off of Damage done to your Shield,
multiplied by a certain amount. While the Power is active,
your outline will be light blue and a beeping noise starts up
when time's almost up. Just be sure that you don't let your
Shield shrink too much or break while using this Power.

9) Movement Powers [MOV00]
Movement Powers are made of Warping Powers, Jump Powers, and Shinespark Powers.
All Movement Powers are green. Like all Powers, they can be used in the air as
well. As for Jumping Powers, they'll be measured by "Marios" taking into
consideration Mario's height.

A) Warp [MOV01]
Description: When playing Smash Run, you'll sometimes be randomly warped to
a different spot in the Smash Run Maze. This Power duplicates
that warping event. When used, you'll be warped to a random
spot in the Maze after a few seconds. If you're hit before
warping by an enemy attack however, the effect will cancel
itself. When getting ready to warp, your outline will be
green. While it is, you can still move around as to avoid
being hit by enemies until the warp happens.

Description: When active, this Power lets you do additional Mid-air Jumps

D) Instant Drop [MOV04]
Description: This Power makes you shoot downward towards the ground when you
tap down on the Circle Pad. You automatically fall through
droppable platforms and slightly Damage enemies in the way
as you drop. This Power is perfect when you've been launched,
just be careful as you can't cancel the drop and you don't stop
until you land. You wouldn't want to drop into the abyss
below the maze! You'll always drop at the same speed
regardless of the Power's Level, though the effect lasts longer
on higher Levels. Your Character's outline will be green and a
beeping noise signals when the Power is about to end.
Icon: Instant Drop's Icon has a picture of guy who just landed from a jump
with an impact splash effect under him on it.

regardless of your current Stats on some Levels of the Power.
While using this Power, your Character's outline will be green
and a beeping noise sounds when the Power's time is almost up.

10 Smash Item Powers [ITM00]
Smash Item Powers are gray in color and give you the Item shown when selected.
That's not to say that every Item in the Game is available, but Smash Run
Power versions do give you a nice selection. Many Items can help give you
some added attack range and power or even provide some defense in some cases.
Items themselves do not change in effectiveness from Level to Level, though
and can summon them more often the higher the Level. Because of this, this
section won't have a "Length" Section in each Item Power's description. You
can however increase the effectiveness of Items by raising your Arms Stat.
Also of note is that there won't be an Icon explaination as the Items you get
from these Powers are always pictured on it's Icon, and frankly, saying "Beam
Sword's Icon has a picture of a Beam Sword on it," would be a tad redundant.

A) Beam Sword [ITM01]
Description: This Power equips you with a Beam Sword. When swung normally,
it can do 4-5% Damage. When swung as a fully charged Smash
Attack, it can do 19-20%. At maximum Arms Stat, it can do
11-13% Damage normally and 50-53% Damage when swung as a Smash
Attack. Keep in mind that the Sword's length is determined by
hard you swing it.

16 times before running out of power. If you try to fire it
again after the 16th shot has been fired, you'll throw the Ray
Gun forward which can do 11% Damage normally and 22% Damage
at maximum Arms Stat.

it for too long. When tossed at an enemy, it can do 32-34%
Damage. At maximum Arms Stat, it can do 100-102% Damage. Take
care not to throw the Bob-omb in a spot you're close to as
the explosion can effect you if you're too close.

Description: This Power equips you with a Back Shield. Back Shields prevent
enemies' attacks from harming you. Once equipped, it will
remain for 30 seconds. However, if it takes continous damage,
it will only remain for 15 seconds. At maximum Arms Stat, it
can remain for 1 minute, though repeated damage will only let
it remain for 30 seconds. If you know there's a strong attack
coming, turn your back to the enemy about to attack to block
the attack. Just be careful. Your top, bottom, and front are
still exposed and if the attack has enough height, it could
still hit you from behind.

Description: This Power equips you with a Super Leaf. When equipped, your
Character grows raccoon ears and tail and you can get extra
hang time in the air by repeatedly tapping or holding the X or
Y Buttons, though tapping them can let you hang in the air
longer than if you held them as you only 5 seconds of hang
time when you hold the Buttons. The Item lasts about 25
seconds. At maximum Arms Stat, the Item lasts about 50
seconds. And no, you can't attack with the raccoon tail.

Description: This Power equips you with a Rocket Belt. This jet-pack-like
Item lets you fly upwards so long as you hold X or Y after
you jump. You can fly for 3 seconds before the Rocket Belt
shuts off. When it does, you can't fly again until you land
on the ground. The Rocket Belt stays equipped for 25 seconds.
At maximum Arms Stat, it can stay equipped for 50 seconds. Of
note is that you should wait a few seonds before flying again
after flying the first time or you'll only get about 1 to 2
seconds of fly time.

G) Hammer [ITM07]
Description: A personal favorite of mine, this equips you with a Hammer.
This Item sends you into a head-banging rage with a repeatedly
swinging Hammer. While you can do some real Damage with this
Item, it has drawbacks. When using it, you can't throw it
away or jump in mid-air. It can do 27% Damage per hit and
lasts about 7 seconds. At maximum Arms Stat, it can do 73%
Damage per hit and lasts for 8 seconds. On rare occassions,
the Hammer will lose it's head making you swing a harmless
stick and leaving you defenseless.

H) Smart Bomb [ITM08]
Description: This Power equips you with a Smart Bomb. When thrown, it
creates an explosive field that grows to about 3 "Marios" in
diameter, damaging anyone or anything that gets caught in the
field. The Bomb's casing does 11-12% Damage when thrown,
while the field does repeated amounts of 1% Damage with 32%
Damage being the maximum amount of possible Damage. At maximum
Arms Stat, it does 18-19% Damage, while the field does 2%
Damage repeatedly, with 80% Damage being the maximum Damage.
Sometimes when thrown, it may not explode immediately. It will
explode eventually though, so steer clear. The explosion can
also hurt you, so again, steer clear.

I) Ore Club [ITM09]
Description: This Power equips you with an Ore Club. An Ore Club is a heavy
bludeoning weapon that can create a small cyclone that travels
across the ground damaging enemies when swung as a Smash
Attack. When swung normally, it does 12% Damage. When swung
as a Smash Attack, it can do 31%. The cyclone at it's
strongest can do repeated amounts of 6% Damage. At maximum
Arms Stat, a normal swing does 33% Damage, while a Smash Attack
does up to 84% Damage. The cyclone at it's strongest does 18%
of repeated Damage. Of note is that you'll move a bit slower
and can't jump as high while holding this Item due to it's
weight.

J) Super Scope [ITM10]
Description: This Power equips you with a Super Scope. You can repeatedly
tap A to fire rapid shots or hold A to fire a charged shot.
You can fire up to 72 normal shots at 1% Damage a pop or 5
charged shots at 28% Damage maximum for a fully charged shot.
Throwing the Super Scope at an enemy does 13% Damage. At
maximum Arms Stat, normal shots do 4% Damage, charged ones do
93% Damage at maximum charge, and throwing it does 28%. One
charged shot is worth 16 normal shots leaving you with 8 shots
left over when you fire 4 charged shots. Despite this, the
last charged shot's Damage will remain the same as the others.
You can also move and jump while firing or charging.

K) Boomerang [ITM11]
Description: This Power equips you with a Boomerang. When you throw a
Boomerang, it'll fly to a certain distance before doubling
back towards you while damaging anyone or anything in it's
way. As long as the Boomerang touches you on it's return trip,
you'll automatically grab it so you can use it repeatedly.
The only way to lose the Boomerang is if you drop it yourself,
get it knocked out of your hand, or if it doesn't touch you on
it's return trip. In terms of Damage, it actually builds each
time it's thrown. The throw itself starts at 2% Damage, then
builds by 2% each time capping at 14%. Return trips start at
1% Damage, then builds by 1% each time capping at 7%.
Basically, it's power builds 7 times before capping. For some
reason, this Item isn't really effected by your Arms Stat from
what I've seen in testing. If you no longer want the
Boomerang, you can throw it away by pressing the L Button in
mid-air.

11) Effects Powers [EFT00]
Effects Powers are made of Shuffle Powers and Random Powers. Their effects
and/or uses differ between their Levels, though their effects are always
random. Effects Powers are purple in color.

A) Shuffle [EFT01]
Description: Shuffle works the same regardless of it's Level. The only
difference is how many uses you can get out of the Power
depending on the Power's Level. Basically, when used, Shuffle
swaps your current Stat Scores to other Stat Scores. How it
does it is simple. It trades one Stat's score for another and
does this for all 6 Stats. Here's an example of how it would
work after using Shuffle twice:

As you can see, the highest Stat scores of 352 and 316 switched
places two times. The scores in their entirety were swapped
to different Stats each time. The beauty of this Power is that
it can really help you balance out Stats that are more useful
to your Character and/or their customizations. Let's say your
Character is slow by default, like Ganondorf, but you had a
huge Arms Stat that you may not even use. Using Shuffle might
swap the Arms and Speed Stats allowing Ganondorf to really
book! Now, this may not always happen as the Stat Scores are
always swapped at random.

on every Level, the Level does determine the Level of the
randomly selected Power. Let's say you used a Lv.3 Random and
it selected Launch Ring, a Direct Attack Power. The Launch
Ring Power would be at Level 3.

Well. Finally done with the Powers. Now here's a nice little index to help
you find what you're looking for. If you're looking for info on a particular
Power, but don't feel like looking for it, just use the CTRL + F Function and
put in the name of the Power as it's shown and start searching. There are
three listings. Each listing is basically the same ways you can sort your
Powers in the Power Selection Menu. They're sorted by Category, Weight, and
Alphabetically. Now it should be noted that when you sort your Powers,
currently equipped Powers always appear at the top of the list.

A) Sorted By Category [LISTC]
When you sort your Powers by Category (which I think is the easiest way to do
it), it lists them as follows: Direct Attack, Ability Boost, Attack Boost,
Defense, Healing, Movement, Smash Item, and Effects.
If the Power is obtained by completing a Challenge, a Challenge Number will
appear in the Unlock Column (EXAMPLE: "C.#002"), otherwise, it will have an
"S. RUN" in the Column showing it can be obtained by finidng it during a run
through Smash Run or "START" showing that it's a Power you start with when you
first begin playing SSB for 3DS. The Challenge numbers are based on the
numbering system from my Challenges Guide, though you can just go to Section 13
in this one to get the info you need to clear the Challenge shown.

B) Sorted By Weight [LISTW]
When you sort Powers by weight, they're sorted from heaviest to lightest, then
by Power Type, and finally, by the order in that Power Type as shown in the
previous Listing. This sorting method is a bit more advanced for those who
like to take weight into consideration when selecting Powers for their
Character in a way that they can try to fill all six spots in their Power
Supply.
If the Power is obtained by completing a Challenge, a Challenge Number will
appear in the Unlock Column (EXAMPLE: "C.#002"), otherwise, it will have an
"S. RUN" in the Column showing it can be obtained by finidng it during a run
through Smash Run or "START" showing that it's a Power you start with when you
first begin playing SSB for 3DS. The Challenge numbers are based on the
numbering system from my Challenges Guide, though you can just go to Section 13
in this one to get the info you need to clear the Challenge shown.

When you sort Powers alphabetically, they're sorted, of course, from A to Z.
Afterward, they're sorted by Level, with lowest Level first. This sorting
method makes it easier to find a particular Power by name as opposed to trying
to find it by Type or Weight.
If the Power is obtained by completing a Challenge, a Challenge Number will
appear in the Unlock Column (EXAMPLE: "C.#002"), otherwise, it will have an
"S. RUN" in the Column showing it can be obtained by finidng it during a run
through Smash Run or "START" showing that it's a Power you start with when you
first begin playing SSB for 3DS. The Challenge numbers are based on the
numbering system from my Challenges Guide, though you can just go to Section 13
in this one to get the info you need to clear the Challenge shown.

13) Challenge Prize Powers [CHG00]
A majority of Smash Run Powers are collected by collecting Smash Run Power Bags
in the Smash Maze during your 5 Minute Run. They're those little bags with the
rainbow colored "?" stickers on them.
However, there are a total of 14 Powers that can only be obtained by completing
certain Challenges, and that's what this section is all about. Now I'll only
be going over the Challenge's required to get Smash Run Powers. If you need
help getting other Challenges done, I have a seperate Guide for that on this
site.
That said, I will be using the numbering system from that Guide, so if you're
confused, here's how it works:
-> Each Challenge Panel is read by rows top to bottom, left to right. For
example, on Panel 1, Challenge's 1 to 7 are on Row 1.
-> Panel 1 is available from the Start.
-> Panel 2 unlocks after completing all 35 Challenges on Panel 1.
-> Panel 3 unlocks after completing 60 Challenges all together. All 35 on
Panel 1 and 25 or more on Panel 2.
-> A Panel DOES NOT HAVE TO BE UNLOCKED for you to complete any of it's
Challenges. You can do them at any time. If you complete a Challenge on a
Panel that hasn't been unlocked yet, it will automatically be cleared once
you unlock that Panel.
-> Do not e-mail clear suggestions. At least not for this Guide. In this
Guide, I'm only giving brief explainations on clearing the Challenges that
yield Smash Run Powers.

Description: Basically, you need to win a Final Battle in Smash Run with
five different Characters. Mii Fighters only count as one
collectively so you can't just win with 5 different Miis.
I should also note that DLC Characters do count towards this
Challenge as well.

F) Challenge 044 [CHG06]
Get a total of 5 hits in StreetSmash.

Power Unlocked: Lv.2 Shinespark
Description: You can get up to three Golden Hammers on each Challenge Panel
by completing certain Challenges which can be used to clear
a single Challenge without actually doing it. That said, this
Challenge can be alomst impossible to complete without a
Golden Hammer if you don't know anyone with a copy of the
Game. If you have two 3DS systems and a copy of the Game (not
the downloadable version), you can cheat this a bit. First,
setup the StreetSmash Option on both 3DS Systems with the
single Game Cart between them. If you're not sure if it's
setup or not, check the StreetPass Titles in the Data
Management section of the 3DS Setup Options Menu. Now, put
one 3DS System into Sleep Mode by closing it while the Game is
active in it, and put the other System in Sleep Mode while
it's on the Home Menu. Wait for the lights on the right
hinges of the Systems to turn green, then check out the
StreetSmash Option and you should have a hit. Now, close the
Game and put it into the other System. Check StreetSmash
again, and you should have another hit! You can do this once
a day after midnight (you can't change the time or date, you
have to wait.) for two hits a day.

G) Challenge 048 [CHG07]
Obtain 25 types of Smash Run Powers.

Description: Remember that you can only get Smash Run Powers by completing

H) Challenge 059 [CHG08]
Play Smash Run 5 times.

Description: This is real simple. Just play Smash Run five times with any
Characters or Miis, even the same one if you wish. You don't
even need to win Smash Run, just play it five times.

I) Challenge 072 [CHG09]
Hit Sandbag 3280 ft. or more in Home-Run Contest.
Panel 3 / Row 1
Power Unlocked: Lv.3 Ore Club
Description: The premise of Home-Run Contest to build Damage on a Sandbag,
then use the provided Home-Run Bat to send it flying afterwards
as far as you can for a High-Score. Oh, and you have only 10
seconds to do this. Now, veterans of the Home-Run Contest may
even balk at this Challenge, but it's not impossible. The key
is getting the Sandbag to 110% or more before cracking the Bat.
Characters like Bowser or Ness are good choices for this if
you're crafty enough. One thing to keep in mind is that you get
more distance when you hit the Sandbag with the tip of the Bat
instead of the body of it.
Now I should mention that fellow smashers have sent me
countless e-mails talking about a special technique using
Ganondorf for my previous Guide. Credit however goes to the
first one who told me. His name is Alexander. What you do is
start off with two Side Smashes, then keep using his Side
Standard (Sparta Kick) until time's almost up. Now face away
from Sandbag, then start his Standard Special, Warlock Punch.
While it's charging, quickly turn towards Sandbag. This sudden
turn around super-charges the Warlock Punch and can send the
Sandbag flying well past 5,000 ft. if you do it right.

J) Challenge 073 [CHG10]
Place first in 20 or more Smash Run final battles.

Power Unlocked: Lv.3 Dual Cyclone
Description: You just need to win 20 Final Battles in Smash Run. You can do
this with any combination of Characters or Miis, even the same
one for all 20 victories.

Description: Rival Smash is a Mode in the Multi-Man Smash Mode in the
Stadium Menu. It works similar to Endless Smash, though you
must try to get more KOs than a CPU Opponent up until you get
KO'd yourself. After you're KO'd, your Opponent's KOs are
subtracted from yours with the remaining amount becoming your
High-Score. That's where this Challenge becomes tricky. With
a single Character, you must have at least 50 KOs or more for
your High-Score after your Opponent's Score is subtracted from
yours. Bruisers like DK or Bowser can clear Fighting Miis
quite nicely, though Characters with good Up Standard Attacks
like Link can do just as well. Just keep in mind that your
CPU "Rival" uses the same Character as you.

Place first in Smash Run final battles with all fighters.

Power Unlocked: Lv.3 Shuffle
Description: This Challenge is just what it says, one that requires you to
win at least one Final Battle in Smash Run with each Character.
You can keep track of this in the Fighter Records section of
the Records Menu in the Vault. Since Challenge #073 requires
you to win 20 Final Battles, you should use different
Characters for that one so you'll be close to being half-way
done with this Challenge by the time you clear that one.
I should note that Miis and DLC Characters do not count
towards this Challenge. Thanks to GameFAQ User CaRmAgE for
information concerning the Miis lack of effect on this
Challenge.

M) Challenge 093 [CHG13]
Jump at least 6 miles total between all fighters.

Power Unlocked: Lv.3 High Jump
Description: The Game doesn't really say that this Challenge must be
completed in Smash Mode (Multiplayer) or Smash Run, but it
does. Smash Mode and Smash Run are the only places where your
walking and jumping distance is measured. You don't have to
jump all 6 miles with one Character or Mii, you just need to
have 6 miles between all Characters. To see your progress,
check the Fighter Records section of the Records Menu in the
Vault. 1 mile is equal to 5,280 feet.

Get 200 or more KOs in Endless Smash.

Power Unlocked: Lv.3 Launch Ring
Description: The key to getting a good High-Score in Endless Smash is
learning to how attack, dodge, and repeat as needed.
Basically, you'll attack, send a few Fighting Miis flying, then
dodge incoming replacements. Wash, rinse, repeat. Bruisers
like DK or Bowser can take heavy Damage and really clean house.
Lighter Characters like Kirby will really need to be
stealthy as they can be sent flying easily. Medium Characters
like Mario can also hold their own combining tactics used by
heavy and light Characters alike. Most Characters can use
their Up Standard Attack to send Miis flying easily, though
some Characters could be left open to attack after executing
the moves.

14) Frequently Asked Questions [-FAQ-]
Q: Why'd it take you so long to do this Guide?
A: When I started it, I still had four Smash Run Powers to collect. I didn't
want to submit a Guide that wasn't completed due to my collection being
uncompleted.
Q: You planning on doing a more in depth Guide for the Game?
A: I actually did a Guide concerning the Game's Challenges before this Guide.
However, these things take way too much time to get done, so I'm not doing
any more. Besides, other GameFAQs users have been submitting newer Guides
for general Gameplay and some for Character strategies and move sets, so
it's only a matter of time before the site's flooded with new Guides.
Q: I can't use Miiverse with this Title! What's up?
A: This Game uses so much of the 3DS's CPU that it can't run Miiverse and this
Game at the same time.
Q: Um... about the Circle Pad?
A: Yes. I've heard the rumors about Circle Pads on 3DS Systems meeting their
end as a result of rough play whereas this Game is concerned. No, it hasn't
happened to me. If it does break, you will have to send it to Nintendo for
repairs. Just be careful when using Smash actions. You don't need to slam
the Circle Pad. A quick, light jab works just as well and doesn't put too
much strain on the joint the Pad is attached too. I should note that this
problem seems to happen with older 3DS Systems as opposed to the XL Systems.
Q: You do realize that those last three questions were in your previous Guide,
right?
A: I know, but they're worth repeating just in case no one's read that Guide.
Q: Why do I keep getting duplicates of Powers I already have?
A: The more Powers you have, the more your chances of getting a new Powers is
reduced. Let's say you have 170 Powers already. Now let's say you got
10 Power Bags during a Maze Run. Your probability of getting a new Power
is very low despite getting 10 Power Bags.
Q: How can I get more Power Bags during a Maze Run?
A: Defeating tougher enemies like a Bonkers, Reaper, or a Kamek will yield
Power Bags more often than normal enemies. Open as many Chests as you can,
as many have Power Bags. Finally, when Events dealing with Secret Areas
or powerful enemies appearing happens, try to complete them as doing so will
yield Power Bags most of the time.
Q: If I lose a Final Battle, do I lose what I collected?
A: Not from what I've seen. I've lost a few Final Battles, but I still got the
Items I collected. The only way you lose collected Items is if you quit the
Game before it's completed to it's entirety.
Q: How'd you get your figures for each Power?
A: A stopwatch, scrap paper, and the Test Option in the Customization Menu.
It took quite a while. I also had to test some Powers in the Maze Run as
some, like Warp, can't be used in Testing.
Q: Testing? In Customization? What do you mean?
A: In the main part of the Customization Menu where you can select from the
Options of what can be customized, press the R Button, or highlight "Test"
in the upper-right corner of the screen and press the A Button, to go to
the Test Range. Here, you test your Custom Specials and regular attacks
on a Sandbag. In Smash Run Mode, you can also test your Smash Run Powers
as well.
Q: I got higher/lower Damage results than what's listed.
A: All my testing was done with Mario who's the most balanced Character in the
game. Heavy Characters may do more Damage than what's listed when under
the influence of some Powers, while lighter Characters may do less. Use
the Test Range to see what does what with who and adjust your strategy
accordingly.
Q: Can I get Powers in other Modes?
A: I already mentioned this. No, you can't get Powers in other Modes. The
only way to unlock new Powers is to find Power Bags in Smash Run or complete
any of the 14 Challenges that reward you with a new Power.
Q: I got a Power in StreetSmash even though you said I could only get Powers
in Smash Run or through Challenges!
A: I said, I wasn't sure about StreetSmash. Shoot me an e-mail if you did get
a Power through StreetSmash and I'll update the Guide and I'll give you
credit for the info.
Q: I completed a Challenge that yields a Power, but didn't get the Power!
A: Did you unlock the Panel that the Challenge was on? You don't have to
wait until a Panel is unlocked to complete any of the Challenges on it,
but the Panel itself must be unlocked to collect the rewards from it.
Q: I'm from another Gaming Site. Can I host this Guide on it?
A: Unless your Site is an official one created by Nintendo themselves, no.
I've stated this in all my past Guides. GameFAQs is the only site I trust
since they don't cram a boat-load of ads into their site or run scripts
that make it hard to load the site or leave them. GameFAQs has always been
good to me both as a user and a contributor.
Q: What took so long for an update concerning the DLC Stuff?
A: I was waiting for the DLC that came out on 6/14/15 to come out before I did
anything. I was also playing a bunch of other games at the time, so there
you go.
Q: What kind of DLC is there?
A: Check "smashbros.com" and the DLC Shop in the Game which links to your
Nintendo eShop account. Check out either place for more details. To
access the DLC Shop though, you need the latest Update for both your
3DS and this Game.
Q: You made an HTML Version of your Challenges Guide. Are you going to do the
same for this one?
A: Probably not. This one doesn't get as many hits as my Challenges Guide and
unlike this Guide, several people have asked for an HTML Version of the
Challenges Guide for easier navigation. This Guide doesn't have as much
exposition as my Challenges Guide and is quite short, as such it's better
used as a Checklist if anything.
