Hello, everyone! ^_^ Karin18, here. I actually honestly never thought I would
do another FAQ after my first and only one got flamed so hard I had to delete
it... BUT! I love Rune Factory 4 and after cruising the boards for awhile I've
noticed that there is one thing that many people seem to need help with.

Well there are a few things.

But one of those things is the Town Event system!

That's right, in Rune Factory 4 there are such things as random events
(henceforth known as "Town Events") that allow you as the player to delve a
little bit more into the town of Selphia and the lives of the townspeople.
It's a really cute and nice idea, but the fact that these events are random
is very off-putting to most players. Some tricks have been discovered and
through these tricks we've been able to learn a little bit more about them.

While most of these Town Events are just for fun, some ARE required, in a
sense. Some are required if you want to get married and one in particular is
needed even to progress the game. For that reason alone, many people have
expressed displeasure towards the randomness of the Town Event system.

But have no fear, for that is what this guide is for! Within this guide you
will find a list of all of the events, a step by step process on who to talk
to in order to continue it, some neat tricks on how to finagle the event you
want to come up, and some frequently asked questions to try and help you out!

So sit back, relax, and view those events!

I would assume most who come to GameFAQs are aware how a general FAQ is
laid out and how one would go about reading and searching. But if this is your
first FAQ (I am honored!) then I'll help you out!

Below is the Table of Contents, which is always a great first stop to see
what is included in this guide and where the information you are specifically
looking for may be. On the far right of the Table of Contents (as well as in
the section headers) you will see a weird combination of letters within square
brackets that look something like [TE.XXX]. This helps you use the Find
function of your browser! Once you find the section you are looking for, hold
Ctrl + F to bring up the Find bar. You can then type in this code and it should
take you right to the section!

You may be wondering why there is a "TE." before a more relevant three letter
code. This stands for "Town Events" and by itself it means nothing, but to
assure that whatever you type in won't send you somewhere else, I've made
sure to guarantee that there is only two of every one of these codes: one in
the Table of Contents (for you to see where it is) and one in the specific
heading. This makes searching much easier. For example, if I just had [VER]
as the code for the Version section, then when you type in "VER" it would show
everywhere in this document that you see a v-e-r in sequence (unless you use
the "match case" option, but not all people do that). As such, the "TE." is
there to help alleviate that possibility. I'm here to help, after all. ^_^

As long as you have an idea of which section your questionable piece of
information is in, then you should have no problem navigating this guide. I
have every ounce of faith in you!

Town Events are events that trigger randomly in town!

No...seriously. I'm not being facetious.

These events are cute little scenes that you view and take part of (in some
cases) just for fun. There are a few that are required but for the most part
these are just for you to learn a little bit more about the characters and
feel a little more submersed in the town of Selphia. These are not a part of
the main story line (save for "Memories") and truly only exist for you to
enjoy...or in some cases, get annoyed with ^_^;

There are two basic types of events that occur in Rune Factory 4: Town Events
and Mini Events.

Town Events are events that can span anywhere from a single day to multiple
days, and sometimes even half a month! These can include any number of
characters and will be the main focus of this guide due to the sheer number
of events that there are. Most often these include more than one person. You
can tell if a Town Event is going on by checking your nightstand next to your
bed (where your diary is). If you read it and there is an additional option
beneath "Write a Diary Entry" that says "Town Event", then you know a
Town Event is going on! This will list the title of the event and who is
included (though it won't list EVERYONE, just the main ones).

Mini Events meanwhile are single-scene events that only include one other
person and don't last for multiple days. These are only with marriage
candidates and are basically fun little scenes to show you more about what
said candidate is thinking or going through. These events end after you have
seen the single scene and are not listed in your diary (mostly because they
end before you can go see if it is written there or not).

Throughout many testings of this game and playing around with the Town Event
system, it has been discovered (by Maxsayo and Akirahime, from what I know)
that there are such days as "Town Event Days" (dubbed so by them and the
board; it's not an official name by any means but will be used henceforth).

Basically, a pre-determined day is a Town Event Day, and when you reach that
day, a Town Event or Mini Event will occur. The problem? It could be any of
them! It is through no set order that these occur, which is the source of
frustration for many of us Rune Factory workers.

As far as triggering events go, on the day of a Town Event you simply talk to
the character that starts whatever event is going on. Simple right? Well, in
theory. You don't know what event is going on until you talk to someone (the
first "trigger" person, that is) and see what is said. However most times
you will see characters running to a certain position first thing in the
morning. Depending on who is running where, you can usually guess what event
is going on. But regardless though, until you talk to someone (or walk into
the building in which everyone has oddly gathered), then the event will not
trigger. If the day goes by without you talking to the secret trigger person
or walking into the trigger building, then the Event Day is lost and no
event occurred.

Long story short, Town Events are only triggered on Town Event Days after you
have either spoken to the trigger person for the particular event, or have
walked into the building in which the event is taking place. These will
all differ depending on which event has randomly been chosen for the day
(which will be described in detail in section 8.0 and 9.0). But once the
trigger has been set, the Town Event is now in motion!

This section will describe a little bit more in depth as to how Town Events
work. This information was pulled from the posts made by Maxsayo and Akirahime
and formatted to fix what we know about Town Events.

Town Event Days are essentially pre-determined. The only thing that changes
this is if an event is completed. Seem obvious? Well let me give you an
example.

Ignoring any festivals and other days for now (which we will later see don't
matter anyway), let's pretend that Summer 3 and Summer 6 have both been
determined to be Event Days. If you don't view the event on Summer 3, then
Summer 6 will still be an Event Day. However, if you DO view the event on
Summer 3 (assuming it ends before Summer 6 anyway), then Summer 6 is no
longer an Event Day. So essentially, both are dependent on each other and
both cannot occur. It is still POSSIBLE that Summer 6 ends up being an Event
Day after you have viewed an Event on Summer 3, however that is entirely up
to the Random Number Generator (RNG). Once an event is viewed, the 'dice' is
rolled again to see what the next Event Days are. It's not really known how
far out these Event Days are set (perhaps indefinitely), but the fact remains
that they will change as soon as you view even a single event. Tricks to
using this information will be explained in the next section.

Events (both Town Events and Mini Events, which are for ease's sake the same
thing when it comes to triggering them) typically take the highest priority
for what is going on that day. This means that Festivals, Birthdays, and
weather disasters (i.e. typhoons) do not influence events. You can have an
event occur before, during, or after any of these days. They don't matter!

What DOES matter are dates and confessions. I personally have not tried this
myself as I tend to keep date days far away from potential Event Days, but
it has been said that if you ask someone out on a date or confess to someone
the day prior (such that you will meet up with them the next day, on the
Event Day) then those will take priority. I will need to test this to make
sure, but this is the information we have for now.

VERSION 0.95 EDIT: I have tested this a bit and purposely asked my husband
on a date the day of an Event Day. From what I've found it seems like events
can still trigger, but I DON'T KNOW if it will ignore events he is in or not.
It's possible my multiple resets just happened to choose events he wasn't in
(I have yet to do "Get It Together!", of which he is in, so I know it wasn't
just a lack of events), but regardless all of the events that happened were
ones that didn't have him. So I don't fully know if asking partners on dates
pushes events away from those that include them or what may happen exactly
but this is what it seemed like. This will require more testing so if anyone
else has any further info, please let me know!

I also believe story elements play a role in this, which I mention in one of
the Frequently Asked Questions. If there is a particular story event going on
that you MUST deal with right away (such as triggering the next dungeon) then
I'm pretty sure you can't get events. People have said that they haven't
gotten events and it was revealed that they needed to progress the story a
bit and get to (for example) Obsidian Mansion before events were open again.

Another story element that will mess with events is anything involving
Doug. If he is not speaking to you (in the first arc) or is bed-ridden
(the second arc) then any events with him in it WILL NOT CONTINUE. Even if
you had triggered the event then took a break to play the main story and
now Doug is in one of those states, then the Town Event will not continue
until he is back to normal. So play through the story a bit until he
reaches this point and you can finish up your event. I don't know if him
being in those states will stop events from triggering all together, but
they will probably at least block ones that he is in from happening. So
if something isn't working...see what is wrong with Doug!

Also through an accident I think I've found that story events will recycle
Event Days. For example I was quite certain that Winter 2 or 3 was an Event
Day, but when I reset, I beat Arc 3 on Winter 1. So when Winter 2 and 3 came
around, neither were an Event Day that I saw. This may require more testing as
well, but keep this in mind when trying to find Events/Event Days that story
elements may play a part as well! (END VERSION EDIT)

Somewhat related is how events tie people up. In Rune Factory 4 (and other
Rune Factories, perhaps? This is my first one I've gotten far on :P) you
are allowed to invite townspeople (and your animals) along with you. This
means they can walk around with you and also fight with you in the dungeons.
Pretty cool, huh? However before you can invite someone with you, they must
be over at least 3 Love/Friendship Points (LP/FP). These levels can be seen
in the menu in the Friendship tab (looks like a smiley face and a heart).
Once a townsperson is above 3 LP/FP, then you can ask them to "Go On An
Adventure" and they will accompany you!

Exceptions to this 3 LP/FP rule are your animals (which always go along if
you ask), Forte (who joins you regardless), and Doug (who will not join
until you have finished the 2nd story arc).

Also included in these exceptions are those included in Town Events. If
you check the "Town Events" option in your diary menu, it will tell you all
who is involved in the current event. These people will not under ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES join your party. There are also other people included in the
event who are not listed, but play a small enough role that they won't join
your party. This can get frustrating if you want someone to tag along but
there is an event keeping them tied up. So unfortunately you may not know if
they are involved in an event or not until you reach that point in the event.

So if someone won't join you and they have enough LP/FP, chances are they
are part of an on-going event. But also keep in mind that sometimes they
simply just don't want to go with you! If you know for a fact they are not
part of an event (or there aren't even any events going on), then ask them
later and perhaps they will join. But keep in mind the potential reasons
why they may not be joining.

Because of the fact that they will not join you, this also essentially
means that Town Events take the HIGHEST priority when they are on-going.
That is, if someone is included in an event and you want to ask them on
a date or confess to them, it won't work. They will say they are unavailable.
This happened to me when Doug triggered his marriage event the day before
the Firefly Festival. It was supposed to be the day I ask him TO said
festival, but because I had triggered it, I couldn't even ask him to go.
So keep this in mind when you are wanting to ask someone somewhere and
are fanigling events. (This IS unconfirmed regarding confession, but I'm
assuming it's the same based on what I've experienced).

Something also to note is if you sleep while someone is in your party
(which can happen when their LP/FP is over 7 levels) then they WILL leave
your party if they are involved in an event. This is a 'trick' which will
be covered in further detail in the section below. But this is a good way to
test and see if certain people will be involved in the event for the day!

Phew! Seems like a lot to keep in mind! But don't worry. If you are looking
for a specific event to trigger, have no fear! There are ways to help you
out a bit, as shown in the next section.

Surely most everyone is frustrated by the event system and the fact that the
event that they want is not triggering and they are instead getting events
that they don't want, nor care about (I'm looking at youuuuu sleepovers!)

But fear not, fellow RF'er! There is hope! It will still take some time to
get the EXACT event you want, but trust me when it says it is MUCH easier than
sleeping forever or waiting for it to happen naturally!

So the first thing to do to begin the manipulation is to find an Event Day
(described in Section 6.0 above). The best way to find an Event Day is to save
right before you go to bed. The time doesn't REALLY matter, as long as it is
before 6:00 AM the next morning (as I'm fairly certain that's when things
'reset' as it were). I am a night owl so I usually try to be in bed around
4:00 AM. So I'll save then head to bed. When you wake up, it is time to find
out if this is an Event Day! So how do you figure this out? You begin the
sadly arduous task of talking to everyone and going everywhere to see if
you trigger an event, as described in Section 6.0. If you have talked to
everyone and been inside all of the buildings that could start an event and
it seemed like nothing triggered, then that day is not an Event Day. Time
to go to sleep and try again! BUT DO NOT SAVE. The point of this is to just
find a day then you can reset and play normally, but if you honestly don't
care, then you can go ahead and save. BUT ONLY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PLAY
THE DAYS YOU SKIP! Keep this in mind.

Continue going through days until you finally find someone who says something
peculiar...meaning aside from what they would usually say. Another way to tell
is that usually the first time you talk to a character they will have some
sort of greeting for you (such as "Good morning!" or "You look good today!"
or whatever). If it is the first time you are talking to someone that day and
they don't have a greeting and get right to the point, then chances are this
is an event (you can also tell by the length of the dialogue). To make sure,
you can teleport back to your room with your Escape spell, check your diary,
and if there is now a "Town Events" option listed, you know that day is an
Event Day! REMEMBER THIS DAY! You can now reload your save and play through
your game normally. Once you reach the night before the Event Day you found,
be sure to SAVE YOUR GAME. This is when you will fix what event you end up
seeing.

Make sure you save the night before the Event Day (as in, if the Event Day
you found was Summer 6, save the night of Summer 5) like you did when you
were searching for an Event Day. The next morning you will know that the
day is guaranteed to have an event, so now it's up to you to figure out
which one it is. Just like when you were finding an Event Day, you now use
the same general idea and go running around talking to everyone and going
into all of the buildings until you find the event. If you are looking for
a particular event, you can always run to that person/building first and
see if it triggered. If it didn't, you can either reset and try again, or
run around and see what DID trigger (what I like to do, for no particular
reason...aside to make sure I didn't mess up and know that it IS an Event
Day I guess). If the event you want didn't trigger, then keep resetting and
trying again. While this trick helps, it doesn't mean it'll be fast by any
means. It is definitely quicker than simply waiting naturally, but it may
still take some time.

NOTE: Be wary about using the soft reset (pressing the shoulder buttons and
Start at the same time) because some players have mentioned their game
glitching. This glitch ends up messing your game up and deleting your data!
So be careful. Sometimes I will use the soft reset but very sparingly. I
usually go the long way of pressing the Home button, closing the game, then
reloading it. I don't know if this is a way around the "reset glitch" but
as far as I know it's just from soft resetting. So be aware!

So from here you simply keep resetting until you find the event you want.
It is somewhat time consuming but as I said, much quicker than waiting
around the long way! Below is a path that I follow that I've considered
the quickest to see if there is an event/if the day is an Event Day.

          >-------------------------------------<

KARIN18'S PATH FOR EVENT SEEKING:

And so I WAKE in the morning and I step outside, and I take a deep breath--
Oh, is this not the 4 Non Blondes song? My bad.

Anyway after I wake up I'll head to the town square from my room and head left
towards the West side of town. From there I'll head up to the North side of
town and into the Inn. There are a few events here that could trigger once
you step inside so this is a quick way to check. If nothing starts and if
none of the inhabitants are running from their beds (indicating they are
heading to an event, since no one here is up this early) then nothing is here.
So I'll head back outside and down the street into the restaurant. Porco and
Arthur are usually up by this time so I will run upstairs and talk to them.
Arthur also has some Mini Events that involve him so if he is in his office
rather than upstairs, then you'll know that is going on. If neither of them
have an event, then I'll exit and head South into Melody Street.

Margaret is an early riser so I'll go talk to her. Quite a few events start
with her so she is a nice one to check early. If she has nothing, usually
around this time it will be close to 6:30. From here I'll run out and into
the flower shop then wait the few minutes for Illuminata and Amber to wake
up. If they have nothing to say, I'll head out and up into the general store,
head upstairs and talk to Doug and Blossom. If neither of them start anything
then it's time to check the rest of the town.

By now the rest of the townsfolk are starting to get up so you'll have to
keep track of whom you talked to and whom you haven't. I'll talk to those I
pass on the street as I make my way back to the town square and into the
butler's quarters where I can talk to Volkanon and Clorica...who wakes up
around 7:10 so you may have to wait a moment. Vishnal may or may not be
around but I'll usually pass him in the street somewhere.

After speaking to them I'll head West and enter the clinic (to talk to
Jones, Nancy, and Dolce), then blacksmith (for Bado), then Forte's house
for her and Kiel. For completion's sake I'll go through my route again, this
time actually talking to Lin Fa, Xiao Pai, and Leon in the inn, then heading
back to the restaurant for Dylas. That typically covers everyone in town,
but as I said you have to keep track and make sure you've spoken to
everyone.

This is a pretty complete path as I talk to everyone and it makes it easier
to see if there is an event, or if there is, which one it is. I'll usually
finish around 9:00 depending on how far out of the way some of the later
people are. But still, doesn't take too long, considering.

Also keep in mind while you're running this path to keep an eye on your map
on your lower screen. Usually if someone is running to a particular area,
they will start to move out around 6:15 in the morning. So sometimes I'll
just step outside my room and see if I see anyone running around since it's
pretty soon in the morning. As I said, no one is up that early (aside from
the butler waking you up) so if you see someone, it more than likely means an
event is happening!

If I'm using this path to see if the day is an Event Day, then I'll typically
hold "Y" to skip through the character's dialogues (I'm kind of weird and
don't want to be spoiled about what they'll say to me that day). This means
I could also potentially be skipping the dialogue if it's an event, but more
often than not, if the dialogue is long it means it's more than likely an
event. But if I'm not sure, usually by the end of talking to everyone I'll
go back to my diary and see if the "Town Events" option is available. Then
I'll know it's an Event Day!

And if I'm using this path to see what event triggered then hopefully I'll
have found an event by the end of speaking with everyone. If the dialogue
seemed relatively normal I can always go back and check the diary anyway
and see what event could have possibly triggered. Plus it's a good way to
check what event DID trigger.

PLEASE NOTE: Some of us while testing and moving through with this trick
have noticed that there are days that we don't find an event, even when
we were POSITIVE it was an Event Day. To be honest, I have no explanation
for this occurrence. I just always figured I didn't talk to someone in
particular or go where I needed to, but some others think that maybe the
"event pool" doesn't actually get smaller with more events that you've
seen and that blank days are when Event Days "pick" an event you've
seen already. This is a rare occurrence and it doesn't seem to happen
more often with more events that I've seen, but it's hard to say. So just
be aware that this occasionally happens!

          >-------------------------------------<

THE "SLEEP" TRICK

A trick for events that most players used before this extensive testing was
done was called the "sleep" trick. Once townsfolk like you enough (I think
once their LP/FP is over 7 levels) then they won't leave your party at the end
of the day. This means you can go to sleep and they will still be in your
party when you wake up in the morning. If you go to sleep with someone the
night before an Event Day, they will leave your party in the morning if they
end up being involved in the event for the day. This often confuses people
and they end up thinking that the people HAVE to be in your party for the
event to happen, but this is NOT TRUE. It is simply an easy way to see if the
event for the day has that particular character in it.

For example, say you are wanting to marry Amber and you have done all of the
prerequisites and all you have left to do is the marriage event. Once you find
an Event Day, take Amber into your party and sleep the night before. If you
wake up and she doesn't make a comment about having to leave and is still in
your party, then you know the event that triggered is not her marriage event.
You can now reset and try again until she leaves your party. Just because she
leaves DOES NOT MEAN it is her marriage event, but it is a likely possibility.
You'd still have to run around and find out what event triggered but you can
at least be sure now that it is one that involves her.

This doesn't really help you see WHAT event has been chosen for the day, but
it will at least give you a better idea about it and if you are looking for an
event with a specific person, you can know that the event at least involves
them if they leave in the morning. It's basically just a way to 'save time'
from running all over town finding an event. If you are looking for an event
with them and they didn't leave, you can go ahead and restart and save time.
I personally don't use this method but I know lots of people that do,
specifically for "Memories" (the event that triggers the third arc, which will
be covered below in Section 10.0).

          >-------------------------------------<

So that is my detailed explanation of how to get the event I want. I know some
parts of it may be confusing and I find myself reading Akirahime's post and
feeling ashamed I can't explain it as simply. So below is Akirahime's post
from the board, which is a very basic process about how to find a specific
Town Event. I just wanted to include it in case I confused anyone. ^^;
Thank you, Akirahime!

"Here is my process for getting the town event I want:

1. Take two people into your party. The best townsfolk to bring are the ones
involved in the most town events. Vishnal and Kiel are good candidates because
they are involved in a good many events.

2. Save.

3. Sleep continuously until someone leaves the party. This means you've found
a town event day. Write this day down.

4. This step is optional. If you find that your town event day is too far from
your current "actual game day", reset and do step 3 again until you find an
earlier town event day. I usually pick a day not more than one week from my
real game day.

5. Reset your game and continue playing normally until one day before your
chosen town event day. Party up with two people involved in the town event you
want. For example, to trigger Leon's proposal event, I would take Kiel and Leon
(Kiel because he starts Leon's event).

6. Save. It doesn't matter whether you save before 12 AM. For example, if my
town event day is Fall 20, saving at 3 AM on Fall 20 (i.e. before you sleep)
is still fine.

7. Sleep. If no one leaves your party, reset. Continuing my example from
before, for Leon's proposal event, I would expect both Kiel and Leon to leave.
If only one person leaves, it's not the event I want, so I'd reset.

8. Once the correct people leave your party, go outside and check if the right
town event has triggered. If not, reset again."

This includes a few details I didn't go very in-depth about (such as being
able to sleep the same day, as long as you go to sleep), so hopefully this
will clear up any further confusion.

Now that we know how to GET the events we want, let's take a look at the
events themselves and see what we can choose from!

                                ---------

This section will list all of the events that are in Rune Factory 4. They
will follow the following format:

"Title" --  The title of the event that shows up in the diary.
Participants -- List of people that are involved. Keep in mind this is who
the diary says is involved. Those who are in the event still
won't join your party, even if they aren't listed here.
Notes -- Any particular notes relating to the event; usually will mention if
the event is required to marry a particular bachelor/bachelorette.
Trigger -- This will be who you need to talk to or where you need to walk in
          order to start the event.
Walkthrough -- This will be a numbered list of the steps you need to follow
in order to go through and continue the event.

Something to note which seems to be confusing to quite a few people are the
events where you have to walk somewhere to trigger them. These ARE NOT like
Harvest Moon events. In Harvest Moon (the ones I've played at least), if you
walk into a particular area/shop at a particular time then the event will
trigger. THIS GAME DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT. For the events that I say
trigger when you walk somewhere, I mean that first off, that particular
event has to be chosen. Then it will start when you head to that area. So for
example, "Memories" starts when Amber and Dylas head to the Flower Shop.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN that Memories has a chance of triggering whenver these two
are in there randomly! The event has to be chosen first. Once you are sure
the specific event has been chosen for the day, walk to the trigger place I
mention and it will begin. Hopefully I've clarified this a bit!

There are different sorts of events that can happen. I know I have been using
"Town Events" as a catch all term for any event that could happen so this may
be confusing. All of the  events below ARE Town Events, but I've divided them
up into particular sections. So the "Town Events" listed in Section 8.1 below
are just normal events that don't particularly fit in the other categories.
Section 8.2 are Mini Events, which are the single-scene events with one of the
marriage candidates. Marriage Events are the final events that will either end
in a marriage proposal (for those playing as Frey [the female main character]
or pursuing Xiao Pai or Clorica) or will allow you to propose to the female
as you please after the event is over. Post-Marriage Events are events that
can happen after you get married, which are further broken up into events that
involve your spouse and ones that involve your child (once you have one).

As I've said, ALL of these are events, which means that any of them can trigger
assuming the prerequisites have been met (such as the marriage events needing
marriage prerequisites, or the spouse events requiring marriage first). So
ANY of these are fair game when you've found an Event Day. You can see how you
may need to reset a few times before you find the event you're looking for!

Please note that all of this information came from Ushi no Tane (fogu.com)
and the "Rune Factory 4 Town Event Guide" message topic. It has been used
with permission! So thanks very much to all of the fine folks who have ironed
out all of these details! :) The name of who provided the information will
be listed. Some were blank from the website so I filled out the few that I
knew, thus my name is listed. If you see any mistakes, please message me on
the boards or PM me and give me what information you know! I will obviously
give credit where it is due :)

A note that was mentioned over there was that events involving Doug will NOT
trigger if he is mad at you (during the First Story Arc) or when he is in a
temporary coma (during the Second Story Arc). Events with Ventuswill will
still trigger regardless of her status. An 'exception' to this is the Mood
Reversal Event. It does not NEED Ventuswill, but you obviously won't be able
to talk to her and see her reaction if she is out of commission. Things to
keep in mind. Off we go!

Notes: Required to marry Clorica.
Walkthrough:
1. Day 1: Trigger the event by talking to Clorica in the morning, her
dialogue will be a little different.
Midday - go to the town plaza to find Clorica collapsed in the middle of
the plaza. Talk to her. She'll get an idea and run off, saying it's
a secret. (NOTE FROM KARIN18: Personally I always just see Clorica
lying in the middle of the square. I don't know if you have to talk to
her in the morning or not)
2. Day 2: In the morning, Doug, Amber, and Clorica will collect at 9am in
the plaza. Talk to all three and they will run over to Forte, who is
waiting outside her house. Go with them and talk to Forte. Forte will
drag the three back to the plaza and they will train for the day in the
plaza. They don't move and their dialogue doesn't change the rest of the
  day.
3. Day 3: In the morning, Doug, Amber, and Clorica will be out in the plaza.
Talk to Clorica and they will agree to go to Arthur's. Follow them to
Arthur's and once they've collected talk to Arthur to trigger a scene.
After the scene they will all disperse and you'll get more dialogue with
Clorica. Despite it looking like there's some resolution, the town event
  still hasn't finished.
4. Day 4: Ah, ok, they're still visiting different villagers. Talk to Doug,
Amber, and Clorica in the plaza in the morning and they will decide to go
to Meg's house. Follow them to Meg's house. A scene will trigger when you
are OUTSIDE of Meg's house, not by talking to Meg. Watch scene, talk to
  everyone, sleep.
5. Day 5: This time they will visit Dolce. Talk to Clorica/Doug/Amber in
the plaza and follow them to the west side of town where Dolce waits
outside of Bado's shop. Talk to Dolce to trigger a scene. Watch the scene,
  talk to everyone, sleep.
6. Final Day: In the morning you will find Clorica collapsed in the middle
of the square again. Talk to her to complete the event.

"The Running Sign"
Participants: Everyone
Trigger: Go towards the flower shop
Notes: Required to marry Dolce
Walkthrough:
1. (Note that the event usually occurs very quickly after Dolce arrives in
Selphia.) The event begins with Jones. He will mention that Dolce is
feeling a bit of a culture shock.
2. At this point, the graffiti appears throughout town. Investigate all of
it. The inn, restaurant and flower shop all have graffiti.
3.  Speak next to Forte. She will say that Dolce and Pico have moved in, and
  that she is nervous.
4. Your next conversation should be with Kiel. He will also talk about Dolce
and Pico and mention that Forte is afraid of ghosts.
4.5. Here is where it gets a little rough. In my testing, I slept for one day
and progressed to the next step each time. However, at least one person
didn't have to sleep at all, and another slept two days. Your mileage may
  vary.
5. Between 9:00 and 11:00 AM, Forte, Amber and Illuminata will gather outside
the flower shop. Approach them and watch the scene.
6. From here the event becomes very straightforward, as you simply follow
Dolce through town, watching various scenes until the final one near the
  Dragon Lake entrance.

                               >---------<

"Thoughts Lost in the Lake" (Guide by MostlyDangerous)
Participants: Margaret, Illuminata
Trigger: Talk to Margaret
Notes: Required to marry Margaret
Walkthrough:
1. Talk to Margaret, and she will lament about how many people are littering
by the lake in town. She then apologizes for unloading all this on you,
and begins to leave to go clean it up by herself.

You will then be given two options:
"Let me help."
OR
"Have fun with that."

To continue with the event, choose "Let me help."

2. Margaret will then join your party, take her to Dragon Lake to begin
cleaning up the trash. There will be some dialogue and Illuminata will
suddenly appear and accuse you two of doing illegal things. There will be
more dialogue explaining the situation, and Illuminata grudgingly agrees
  to help you out.
3. Margaret will assign everyone a place to clean up.
4. Go to your assigned spot and clean up the trash (there will be blue
diamonds hovering over the ground, marking the trash) One of the objects
you will find is a nifty glass bottle.
5. Once you are finished, all Margaret, Illuminata and yourself discover the
'secret' of the glass bottle, then Illuminata teases the both of you about
your relationship (If playing as Frey, I don't know what Lumie says, I was
  Lest.)
6. Margaret gets embarrassed, then asks you if you would mind calling her
Meg, because that's what her close friends call her. You again get two
  options:

Agree to call her "Meg".
OR
Tell her you like her full name better.

Neither option really matter, but it will determine what you call her from
that point forward (aside from your dating/married nickname).

                               >---------<

"Too Much Free Time" (Walkthrough by Karin18)

win, but they will continue to go at it so you can continue to choose
whoever. This is not necessary to continue the event.
3. Go back to the restaurant a little later to see the boys passed out.

These are the events that once you watch them will either end in a proposal
(if you are playing as the female character Frey, or if you are pursuing
Xiao Pai or Clorica) or will open up the option for you to propose yourself
at any point after the event if you are playing as the male character Lest.
You can propose by making an Engagement Ring and giving it to the girl after
you have seen her marriage event.

Please note that these WILL NOT TRIGGER unless you've seen all of the
pre-requisite events. To see an easier lay out of this (and see it based on
the bachelor or bachelorette) you can check out Section 9.0 below.
Section 8.3 is just listing the marriage events.

These also won't trigger until you've finished the other marriage pre-reqs,
though that only applies to players playing as Lest mMale MC). You also need
a double bed and have an engagement ring. For those marrying Xiao Pai, you
don't need one; and those marrying Clorica need it with them as the end of
her event will prompt you for it. Those playing as Frey can just sit back
and relax!

Also note that most everyone can be married prior to the start of the 2nd
story arc. Dolce and Leon cannot be married until after the 2nd story arc
starts, and Doug cannot be married until after the 2nd story arc finishes.

This section will not include any 'new' information if you've read the events
from before. This is merely a more organized version so if you are looking for
a particular bachelor or bachelorette, you don't have to search through the
whole events to see what is required. This section be broken up by the marriage
candidates, so each of the pre-requisite events will be listed before the final
marriage event. Again, all of these were listed in Section 8.0, but this is
just an easier way to read it based on the character.

Keep in mind that these allow you to get married. Once you've seen the
required events and have your boyfriend/girlfriend over 10 LP, then you will
then be able to unlock the Marriage Events. FIX

dialogue will be a little different.
Forte will

plaza. They don't move and their dialogue doesn't change the rest of the
  day.

Talk to Clorica and they will agree to go to Arthur's. Follow them to

  still hasn't finished.
4. Day 4: Ah, ok, they're still visiting different villagers. Talk to Doug,
Amber, and Clorica in the plaza in the morning and they will decide to go

are OUTSIDE of Meg's house, not by talking to Meg. Watch scene, talk to
  everyone, sleep.
5. Day 5: This time they will visit Dolce. Talk to Clorica/Doug/Amber in
the plaza and follow them to the west side of town where Dolce waits

Please note this section is full of SPOILERS!!!!

DO NOT READ THIS SECTION IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE 2ND STORY ARC!

How do you know if you've beaten the 2nd story arc? The final dungeon in the
2nd arc is the Floating Empire. Doesn't sound familiar? THEN YOU AREN'T
CLOSE. Once you beat the final boss in the Floating Empire and see the
credits roll, then you have beaten the 2nd Arc.

UNTIL YOU HAVE PASSED THAT POINT, DO NOT READ THIS SECTION UNLESS YOU WANT
TO BE SPOILED!

SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT

..You have been warned. *Ahem*

As stated before, a major reason many players don't like the randomness of the
Town Event system is the fact that the last part of the story WILL NOT TRIGGER
until this event has happened. So many have expressed displeasure at the fact
that a story element is essentially random. No, this does not make sense why
they did that, but with the trick to triggering specific Town Events, it makes
this horribleness a little bit more bearable.

In order to even start the 3rd Arc, you must, obviously beat the 2nd Arc.
After watching the scenes, you will be able to continue your game as normal.
If you go into Venti's chambers you will see that it is sadly empty. If you
approach her...pedestal or whatever you want to call it, you will see that
there is a section that you can investigate (the small red arrow that you
usually see that means you can look at things). The first day, choose the
only option there. The next day when you investigate a new option will be
available. Same thing with the third day. It's best to always choose the new
option, but I'm not too sure what happens if you always pick the same one.
Better safe than sorry.

After you've chosen all of the options, the spot to investigate will no longer
be there. From this point on, now you have to wait for the "Memories" event
to trigger. You can use the tricks listed in the trick section (Section 7.0)
or you can go ahead and wait it out and see what fate has in store for you.
Some people have been lucky and have had it trigger normally within a week or
so, while others have waited 9 (in-game) years! I, for one, am not that
patient... So I go the trick route!

It is unclear if you need Amber and Dylas at 7 LP/FP or not. I feel that that
requirement just comes from the "sleeping trick" in which they need to be at 7
so they don't leave your party, but I could be wrong. Others have argued that
since those two are the ones that START the event, they are the only ones that
need to be at 7. So this is unconfirmed, but better safe than sorry you can
always have them at 7 LP/FP anyway.

From here just do the tricks listed before. As in, save at night before you
go to sleep, and spend your time finding an Event Day. Once you find the day,
reset and play your game as normal until you reach the night before the Event
Day that you found. Now if you are looking SPECIFICALLY for Memories (which
of course it is, that's why you're here!) then go ahead and invite Amber and
Dylas into your party. Go to sleep and when you wake up, see if both leave
your party. Keep in mind that there MAY be some events in which both are
involved and it is likely it could be that event instead of Memories, but if
they both leave then you have a pretty good chance.

If they do both leave, then exit your room to the south and watch where they
run to. If they both run into the Flower Shop, then you're all set! Memories
has successfully been triggered :) If you want to double check, you can go
ahead and go look at your diary and see if the "Town Events" option has
appeared. If it has, select it and see if it says "Memories". If it does, then
congratulations! You have successfully started the 3rd Arc! From here I
probably recommend that you save, but you can also go view the event with
the two of them and THEN save. Once the event is locked, you can go about your
business as usual. It's an event that spans a few days, so once you see the
event in the flower shop, the next scene won't happen until the next day. In
the morning you can step outside and see who is running where, as that will
give you an indication of where the next part of the event takes place.

For ease's sake, I will copy and paste the step-by-step for this from Section
8.1 above.

"Memories" (Guide by rachellion)
Participants: Everyone
Trigger: After examining Venti's spot every day after the end of the
2nd Arc until the options disappear, head to the flower
shop when Dylas and Amber are there
Notes: This event starts the third and final story arc
Walkthrough:
(substep by Karin18: Make sure to examine Venti's old spot every day after
the 2nd Arc ends. Choose the newest option as it appears each day. Once the
options disappear, you now can trigger Memories whenever the next Town Event
Day comes up)
1: Day 1: Visit flower shop when Amber and Dylas are there for scene
2: Day 2: Visit clinic for scene with Dolce and Pico
3. Day 3: Visit the Inn for a scene with Barrett and Leon
4. Day 4: Visit Venti's spot for a scene
5. Day 5: Visit the Inn for scene with Raven and Dolce
6. Day 6: Visit Venti's spot for scene with Guardians, tell them you want to
help and are ready, see scene with Arthur and Kiel, go to Leon Karnak,
defeat statues and Sarcophagus, enter Rune Prana!

And there you have it! You have triggered the 3rd Arc. Congratulations!
Best of luck getting through Rune Prana and rescuing everyone's favorite
Native Dragon. :)

This section is where I shall answer some of the questions that seem to be
frequently asked around the board. If you have any further questions, feel
free to contact me! I can add it to this section if I feel it will be helpful
to others as well :) Check out the Contact Information section below (Section
13.0) on how to contact me! Without further ado, here we go!

Q: Is it possible to miss Town Events?

A: Nope! Well, in a manner of speaking. No event is missable, but if you
have an Event Day and you don't end up triggering the event on that day, you
have missed the chance at triggering the event. The event itself is not
missed; it has just been recycled back into the pool of events that the Event
Day can pick from. If a Town Event has already started then it won't end or
progress until you perform the next step, so there is no way to miss it.

Q: Can I get an Event Day on someone's birthday?

A: Sure can! Birthdays don't seem very important in this game (you don't even
get a scene with your spouse, really...how cheap is that?!), so you certainly
can't block an Event Day with a birthday. You can also have events the day
before and after birthdays too.

Q: Can I get an Event Day on a Festival Day?

A: This one is a little tricky. I will say yes until I have further proof
otherwise. There have been a few players that have said they have had events
on Festival Days. Whether or not it was the START of an event wasn't clear. If
an event is on-going, nothing will stand in its way. As I stated earlier, I
couldn't ask my future spouse to the Firefly Festival because an event had
triggered the day before. Sad day.

To answer the next question: yes, you CAN have Event Days before and after
festivals as well.

Q: I messed up! I asked my partner/spouse to a date tomorrow but I completely
forgot that tomorrow is an Event Day! Did I mess this up?

A: Not really. The day will still be an Event Day but you may want to be
cautious about when to trigger it. I had a date with Doug but happened to
trigger Concert Without an Audience and had Margaret tagging along with me so
I couldn't go on the date. So I had to RUSH through the event to try and
finish it before it got to be too late. So you can still have Event Days and
dates be on the same day.

The thing I DON'T KNOW is if it blocks particular events. With my testing I
found that I just happened to not get any events that had Doug in them while
I asked him on a date, so I don't know if this was coincidence or if asking
someone on a date will take them out of any potential events. This will
probably need to be tested more, so if anyone has any further information,
that would be greatly appreciated!

Q: Can I get an Event Day during a Typhoon or Runey Day?

A: Weather has no effect on events, so yes you can! You'll be running around
in the middle of a hurricane, but that makes it all the more epic :D

Q: Say if Summer 6 is an Event Day...will it also be an Event Day next year?

A: No. Event Days are decided once an event has been finished and are
continuously 'rerolled' after an event is completed. It is possible the same
day will be an Event Day a year later, but it will only be coincidence.

Q: I've been sleeping for a whole year and no events have triggered! What's
the deal?

A: Well stop sleeping and wake up, Rip Van Winkle! Event Days are chosen at
random and you have to actually go out and FIND which event has been triggered.
Simply staying in bed won't help you find anything. Even just poking your head
out to see who is running around (which I would do before I knew this trick)
won't let you know if there is an event going on. You have to actively seek
out Event Days to make sure an event is happening or not.

From my tests and uses with this trick (hunting out Event Days, that is), I've
noticed I get an Event Day at least once a week. It would be blasphemous if
you went a whole month, or even a whole YEAR without an event. Something else
would have to be preventing the event from triggering if that is the case.

Q: Wait...events can be prevented from triggering? What would cause that?

A: Pretty much the only thing that can block Town Events are Story Events.
For example at the start of the game when people are talking about a ghost
and you see said ghost in town, Town Events won't be triggering until you
move a little bit forward in the story. When in doubt, check your diary to
get a hint on what to do next to progress the story to get out of any potential
rut.

It's also possible you're in the middle of an event already. Double check
your diary and see if there is a Town Event active. If not, run around and
talk to everyone and run in all the buildings anyway... Some events may be in
the process of triggering without actually being mentioned in your diary. I
think "The Running Sign" may be one of these contenders, but I don't know
for sure.

Q: I finally got an event to trigger but now it won't continue! Did I mess
something up?

A: If you are following the guide and KNOW you are doing what you have to
to continue the event (i.e. talk to someone specific or be at a specific
place) and nothing is happening then you probably went and continued part
of the story in the midst of an event and tied it up. This is similar to
the previous question, except that Doug is probably ruining it. If he
is refusing to talk to you (first arc) or bed-ridden (second arc) then
any events with him will not continue. So move forward in the story a
bit until he is no longer in those conditions and you shoud be able to
continue on with your event like normal.

Q: I want to do the sleep trick, (or just have them along for the ride), but
so-and-so won't join my party! Why not?

A: Chances are they hate you. Just kidding! ^_~ Usually if someone is involved
in a Town Event that is currently active, they will not join your party. Even
if they aren't listed in the event participants, they may still play a small
enough role in the event that they can't join you. For example, Doug and Kiel
play a small role in "Uh-Oh, It's Contagious" but only Lin Fa and Xiao Pai
are listed in the participants. So that may be a reason.

You also can't have someone join you unless they are over 3 LP/FP (aside from
Forte and Doug, who are exceptions).

Other times...they may not just want to go! Seriously. They have lives too,
y'know. They can't just be at your every beck and call!....even if you ARE
the Prince/ss. Some people have said that if you constantly talk to them they
may ask to join your party anyway. So that's one option if you are truly
DESPERATE to have them along and you know for a fact no Town Events are going
on. It's not guaranteed they'll ask you, but there's a chance!

Q: I'm having a hell of a time with "The Running Sign". What is going on?

A: This seems to be a major problem for lots of players. I personally had no
trouble whatsoever and had no idea why people were complaining. In any case,
just go back up to where I list the Town Events and read the walkthrough. It
is pretty in-depth so hopefully that will help you move it forward!

Q: No matter how many times I've reset, Memories *or insert other event here*
just won't trigger! What am I doing wrong?

A: Probably nothing. Honestly there is no telling what event will come down
the line. When I was trying to trigger the bachelor's Mini Events before I
got married, I have NO idea how many times I would only trigger "Uh-Oh, It's
Contagious", "Get It Together!", and "Part-Time Job!". Like...ALL THE TIME.
I don't know if the game tends to pull from specific events for awhile or what
but just keep trying! I promise you this method works and you will get it
eventually :)

Q: So what time do events start, exactly? If I'm looking for a particular
event, how will I know when I can tell if it's triggered?

A: This question is likely in reference to when certain characters run to
their positions for the event. If that's the case, it usually depends on
who is running where. USUALLY by 6:20 you can tell if someone is running
somewhere (if you just stand outside your room). But this is just for certain
events. Events start when you talk to the trigger person or go to the trigger
area, but there ARE some events that 'start' simply by being chosen. These
events usually require someone to run to a certain area. For example, "Get It
Together!" starts with Clorica running to the center of the Town Square and
passing out. Even if you didn't talk to anyone or go in anywhere, if you see
her move there, the event is already locked into your diary (as in, if you go
to check, you will see it there).

Long story short, events either start when you trigger them, or you can usually
tell by 6:20... I'll say 6:30 is when people usually get to their spot, just
for ease's sake.

I have to thank SOOOO many people for this FAQ! Even if I wrote it all by
myself, the information pretty much came from everyone BUT me. I just took it
upon myself to compile all of the information together. ^_^

First off, thank you to Akirahime and Maxsayo for being the ones to "discover"
this Event Day manipulation trick. I had tried to bump and sticky that topic
many times since it helped me out, but to no avail. I tried to make my own
topic but that failed as well. So thus this FAQ was born. I'm not sure who can
actually take "credit" for this discovery but both were very helpful with the
testing and information about how it all works. Thanks, you two!!!

Thank you very much to our friends over at Ushi no Tane! I have looked at
their Town Event guide on SOOOO many different occasions! And those fine
folks were nice enough to let me copy the information from the site and compile
it all here. Credit is mentioned in the relevant sections for who had given
the original information, but thanks to you contributors again!!!!
