Hey everybody, Bkstunt here with a walkthrough for the special DLC case
for Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies. Now, DLC in general is not somethign most
people like, but when done right it can be really cool. Thankfully, I can
report that this case is worth the little bit of extra cost! Not only is it
a very lengthy case, but it's also downright hilarious!
Hopefully you are joining me again after checking out my guide to the main
Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies game. If you haven't checked it out or need it
for whatever reason, check out the link below:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/939946-phoenix-wright-ace-attorney-dual-destinies/
faqs/69339
(-NOTE-) The link is a bit too long for the character restriction, but still
works!
Like I mentioned in the walkthrough for the main game, if you haven't played
a Phoenix Wright game before, I HIGHLY recommend starting off with Ace Attorney
on the DS and going through the series before delving into this one. Also let
me note that since these game's are so text heavy the need for an in-depth
FAQ / Walkthrough is somewhat diminished, so of course I recommend only using
this guide if you absolutely need it.
Now let's get our game on!

o Since this is a TEXT ADVENTURE game, your best way to use this guide
is to only use it as a REFERENCE and only use it when you truly get stuck.
I say that to give yourself a chance to figure out the questions for
yourself and in turn obtain the greatest satisfaction.
o The best way to get through cross-examinations is to press every single
statement. You'll often get new statements or hints by doing this.
o If you get stuck on a multiple choice type of question, try to eliminate
any dumb possibilities. You can often get the right answer just by taking
away all of the unlikely answers.
o If you get stuck on anything else, check out your Court Record very
carefully. Go through the DETAILS of each piece of evidence and look for
anything definitive or odd.

===============================================================================
GAME STORY
===============================================================================
My name is Phoenix Wright... head of the Wright Anything Agency, and a lawyer.
Although, I was doing something else entirely for a while there. As for why I
decided to formally get back into lawyering... let's just say there's
unfinished business to take care of.
Anyway, I thought I'd reminisce about my first case back on the job. And what
a case it was! It happened only a few months after Athena joined our office...
===============================================================================
GAME START
===============================================================================
At the start of the game you'll hear from Phoenix a bit as he introduces
himself and this case. Since you are (hopefully) playing this AFTER the main
game, Phoenix likely doesn't need an introduction. However you'll soon get a
very neat (and, well... weird) animated cut-scene. ARRRR!
July 20, 12:37 AM
Wright Anything Agency
Phoenix has his badge back! Hurrah! Now if only Athena or Apollo would
notice! Athena will go on about the show at the Shipshape Aquarium and how
therapeutic it is before the TV announces that the owner, "Captain" Jack
Shipley, has been murdered! Wha..?
As if the timing of the conversation and TV wasn't enough, we'll soon get
a visit from a woman named Sasha Buckler, who works at the Aquarium (OK, this
is all coming together way too easily!). Using plenty of sea-puns, she'll
eventually ask us to help save her friend.
Go ahead and ask about "Your defense request" to learn her friend is being
accused of killing the owner of the aquarium and is looking at the death
penalty! Wow. Select "Why request me?" next to learn she actually talked to
all sorts of lawyers, none of who took the case, until she learned about you.
Well... Phoenix never was one to shy away from a case and so he accepts (I'm
thinking you should really meet who you are defending first, right!?). We'll
have to move to Shipshape Aquarium now, but you can chat with Apollo if you
wish.
Head to Shipshape Aquarium next.
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Aqua Tunnel
The view here is... amazing. Sasha will head on ahead to go see the
detective (I'm shuddering here... I'm sure you know why) while Phoenix
thinks about lunch (bad Phoenix!). Thankfully the poor penguin is spared
but not before dropping off a piece of evidence for us:
o New Evidence: Swashbuckler Flyer
A penguin that delivers fliers! How adorable! After getting it you'll
advance to the next location automatically.
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - ???
Sure enough, we'll meet the detective in charge of the case: Fulbright!
Hehe. Sasha will show up soon enough, riding an orca and waving a pirate
sword about! Heh! The orca will chime in too! Soon Sasha will explain that
her friend that you are going to defend is indeed Orla the Orca!
... WHAAAAAAAAAAT!?!
Well, that's what you get for not seeing who the client is Phoenix! Heh.
Sasha will explain her (very elaborate) costume and then we'll be able to
talk to her again. Select "Orla the Orca" here to talk about defending Orla.
Phoenix will somehow manage to make all the women present (and Orla) mad at
him though. Smooth, Phoenix! Sasha will explain that the Captain went to feed
Orla and was found dead in this room. Ask "About the murder" next to learn
how the body was discovered and by whom. Hmmm...
Next ask "Why is Orla accused?" to get some Orca cuteness. Fulbright will
end up telling us that they were the only two in the room, no weapons were
found, and produces a photo of the body as evidence for us:
o New Evidence: Photo of the Body
Fulbright will go on to explain that they think Orla pulled the captain
into the tank and rammed him to death. Really!? We'll get more evidence
here:
o New Evidence: Orca Pool Diagram
There's no autopsy being ordered either since this is death by an animal
and ordinarily they'd just hold the owner responsible. Good luck with that
though... we'll have to answer a question soon:
QUESTION: (Yeah, I can do this!)
ANSWER:
1) Find the real killer
2) Defend Orla in court
3) Set Orla free
As much as I want to re-enact Free Willy or something, pick Choice #2 here
to become Orla's lawyer. Yes, we are crazy. Fulbright will think about it for
awhile and agree to let us investigate the scene. Awesome.
The game will take some time now to explain how to play for a bit. You
likely know all this stuff, especially since this is a DLC case and all.
We'll be able to investigate and talk to Sasha once all the tutorial stuff
is out of the way.
Ok, let's examine the scene! Examine Orla first (of course) to learn more
about her and how Sasha trains and instructs her. This ends up adding a piece
of evidence to the court record:
o New Evidence: Whistle
You can also inspect the ladder going down to the pool if you want. It
doesn't go to the bottom. Examine the sunset backdrop to the left as well
for some funny dialog. You can also examine the giant octopus in the
background as well as the rail system and weird... hunk of meat above the
sunset backdrop, all for more dialog. You can also move to the left, but
all you'll be able to investigate is the button on the far wall.
After that, move the view once to the left. Here you can examine a giant
shark cannon for some GREAT alarms (note the reference here to "Sharknado...").
Check out the nearby door as well if you wish for some funny comments and then
the ball next to Orla for some more good commentary. Next check out the body
outline to get a closer look. You can examine the swords for some commentary.
After that, examine the body outline to learn a little history behind Orla and
the Captain. It sounds like they have quite the loving history to me.
After investigating the body outline, Phoenix will mention we've investigated
everything worthwhile. After that, Sasha will end up putting on a show for
Phoenix and Athena! Enjoy! Afterwards, Athena will mention that we should head
to the Aqua Tunnel. If you're done with Sasha, let's go.
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Aqua Tunnel
Out here you'll run into Detective Fulbright and will have a chance to talk
to him one on one finally (also, be sure to show him your badge!).
Start off by asking about "Proof the orca did it", trying to get Fulbright
to share his info. He'll deny you the info though... right before
inadvertently giving it to you (oh, Fulbright!). It's time to sneak a peak!
Take a good look at the tape to add it to the Court Record:
o New Evidence: Security Footage
This footage doesn't seem to show to much. After looking at it, Athena will
notice a sticker on it referring to a place called Pub O'Danger. Sounds like
a lead! Bobby will come back now and ask if we need anything else. Naw, we're
good! Time to head to this Pub O'Danger place!
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Pub O'Danger
Well, this place looks... interesting. And dangerous, by the sounds of it.
You'll meet a new person here who will eventually introduce herself as Norma
DePlume (her scarf animation is pretty neat).
Go ahead and ask her about herself by selecting the "Norma DePlume" talk
option. Ugh... just the kind of person we DON'T want to talk to. We have no
choice though. Ask "Why you're here" next to see why she's in the closed-down
park. You'll actually run into two psychlocks by doing this. Phoenix will take
some time to explain what psychlocks are and what they mean (which again you
likely already know since this is a DLC chapter) but soon the two locks will
disappear! Looks like we're not getting any secrets from Norma...
Next let's head back to the Aqua Tunnel. It's the only place that will
advance the story right now, after all! Tally-ho!
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Aqua Tunnel
Looks like Fulbright is gone. I guess the police are done for today. You'll
soon hear some weird rapping though and will find the owner's voice soon after.
Marlon Rimes. Original name, right!? Turns out he is a new employee. Good guess
Athena. We'll be able to talk to him soon.
Ask about "Marlon Rimes" first to learn some of his duties at the aquarium.
Cleaning the glass here would take forever, for sure. You'll also learn he's
a vegetarian. Ask "About the murder" next to learn that he knows about it.
You'll also learn the aquarium has a resident vet named Dr. Crab. Ha! Ask
about his "Rifle" comment next to learn that the penguin's name is actually
Rifle. Heh. You even get a rap about it. Oh man... Marlon will ask you to feed
the penguin next time you see it as well, which actually gives us a new piece
of "evidence":
o New Evidence: Fish
You'll learn of someone named "Short Fry" as well. A human girl who went off
to find Rifle. Marlon mentions she may be by the Orca tank, so we'll head there
automatically:
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Orca Pool
You'll automatically notice something new near the tank here... an electronic
sword? Sasha will show up and explain that it is a walkie-talkie... and
probably belongs to Rifle. Every staff member has one apparently and they can
usually find Rifle based on the sounds around him. Smart! This will go into
the court record:
o New Evidence: Walkie-Talkie
You'll soon find out where Rifle went to... on top of Orla! Ha! It seems that
even with fish Athena can't get Rifle's attention. You'll get a really cool
animated scene here showing Rifle running right into... Pearl! Phoenix will
introduce her and we'll soon be able to talk to her. She comments on the
badge, flyer and fish if you want to present them to her.
Ask her about "Pearl Fey" to learn she is here with her summer camp and was
even questioned by the police after the incident. You'll also introduce her
to Athena. Ask about "Meeting Athena" next to hear a very vague explanation
of their meeting. More importantly, you'll get to see a cute penguin calender
afterward that will soon go into evidence:
o New Evidence: Calender
Next talk about "Rifles" to get Athena all worked up again. She just can't
get the penguin's attention. Maybe the food will work? Go ahead and Present
the "Fish" next to try and get Rifle's attention. Orla may have something to
say about that though.
Afterward you'll get to talk to Sasha. Ask about "Orla's Eating" here to
learn of her eating habits. It's almost like she didn't get fed this morning
(my best guess). Ask about "Orla and Rifle" next to learn and see how friendly
they are. Aww...
Phoenix will than ask Pearly to recharge the Magatama, which she does in no
time flat. It seems to be charged up with spiritual energy again, meaning we
should be able to break Psych Locks. Pearls will than leave to return Rifle
to Marlon. Once she is gone, Sasha will point out where she was earlier,
which updates our Orca Pool Diagram:
o New Evidence: Orca Pool Diagram (Updated!)
This fact bothers Phoenix (as it should), so they'll run and catch up with
Pearls to ask her about it, taking you back to the Aqua Tunnel automatically.
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Aqua Tunnel
On catching up to Pearls and Rimes you'll be "treated" to a rap from Rimes.
Yeah... after he leaves with Rifle, we'll get a chance to talk to Pearls again.
Ask her about her "Relation to Rimes" first. Surprisingly, this reveals a
Psyche Lock on Pearls. Ha! Breaking her Psyche Lock with the item she just
empowered us to use! Oh the irony.
MAGATAMA: Pearl Fey
-- Relation to Rimes --
Time to figure out what Pearl is hiding. She'll insist that there is no
relationship and we'll have to answer a question soon.
QUESTION: You were here before the incident occured, weren't you?
ANSWER: Point out the "Staff Corridor".
Pearls will claim she didn't know it was the staff corridor. Phoenix will
accept it and move on to his next question:
QUESTION: Well, there's a certain someone who convinced me it wasn't
my imagination.
ANSWER: Present "Rifles" here.
Sounds like she still doesn't want to talk about it, but Phoenix will
push on to the next question:
QUESTION: In fact, I think this has something to do with your secret.
ANSWER: Present the "Calender" here.
This will finally crack her.
MAGATAMA UNLOCK SUCCESSFUL!
Now you can finally ask about her "Relationship to Rimes". You'll learn about
how Pearls got lost and her adventure to the food prep room. Next ask "Why did
you hide it?" to learn that she was worried about food regulations as well as
the fact that Marlon didn't want her to tell anyone. Ok, that sounds... fishy
(sorry!). You'll also discover that apparently their calenders got exchanged,
which leads to some interesting notes and updates our evidence:
o New Evidence: Calender (UPDATED!)
After learning this, Phoenix will mention that it is time to go visit
DePlume and see if we can remove her Psyche Locks. May as well try! Head
over to the Pub O'Danger next to meet up with her again.
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Pub O'Danger
It seems Norma is stalking Dr. Crabs. Poor doctor! Time to put our Magatama
to good use. Select the talk option and use it!
MAGATAMA: Norma DePlume
-- Why You're Here --
Phoenix will start off swinging, telling Norma that he'll learn her secret.
Ha, so confident. We'll have to prove it though, leading to a question:
QUESTION: I have a piece of evidence here that suggests you DO know something.
ANSWER: Present the "Security Footage" here.
Phoenix will point out that the outfit in the footage looks very similar to
Norma's, and ends up breaking the first lock as Norma admits it is her. After
that, Phoenix will take a guess as to why she is still at the aquarium:
QUESTION: You aren't simply a visitor to the aquarium; what you really
are is...
ANSWER:
1) A police investigator
2) A witness to the murder
3) A shipshape employee
Pick Choice #2 here to pull the truth out of her. She'll agree to tell you
everything afterward!
MAGATAMA UNLOCK SUCCESSFUL!
With her locks unlocked, ask her "Why you're here" to learn she witnessed the
murder. Her mood about the whole thing seems off though, as Athena comments on.
Soon you'll be able to ask about "Non-Fiction writer" to learn that she was
actually researching Orla and her "Violent Streak"! Wha!? Really? She was even
blacklisted from the aquarium. Wow.
Ask her about "Orla's violent streak" to heaer her account of what she saw.
It sounds pretty damning... but Athena and Phoenix will hold on to hope. Soon
Fulbright will show up and back up her story. He'll also let us know that
apparently no prosecutors have agreed to the trial yet, which is bad news for
us. We'll soon be off to the Orca Pool to try and get more decisive evidence.
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Orca Pool
Athena will be a little TOO eager to look around... and ends up crashing
into stuff. Go figure. Orla will add to the mayhem as well, spiking a ball at
Athena (which I'm guessing is what that circle means). All this mayhem has
stirred up the crime scene, so time to re-investigate.
Start off by examining the body outline to zoom in like last time. There's
some new stuff here though. First, examine the nearby coin north of the
outline to see that it has blood on it! Plus its dry! This may just be the
evidence we need (since Orla can't leave the pool and all), which goes into
our evidence:
o New Evidence: Bloodstained Coin
Examine the marks on the floor and the dummy next. After this, Phoenix will
show the coin to Sasha and ask if she knows anything about it. She'll mention
that she cleaned most of them up but is missing some. You can also examine the
octopus leg on the floor and the sword. Next, we have to examine the ladder
to the pool. Note that you have to move once to the right and THEN examine the
ladder. You'll get a bird's eye of the pool now and sure enough, there's some
coins.
After you examine them Phoenix will talk Athena out of retrieving them.
Sasha will go pick them up and will comment that in total there are 300 coins
and they're for the show before leaving to put them away. This soon leads to
a question:
QUESTION: 300 coins together could definitely be used as a weapon.
All you'd have to do is...
ANSWER:
1) Freeze them
2) Put them in a bag
3) Throw them
Answer with choice #2 here to come up with a theory. This will actually
update our coin evidence too:
o New Evidence: Bloodstained Coin (UPDATED!)
Athena and Phoenix will mention that this may be just the proof we need,
so the game will automatically take you to the Pub O'Danger next.
July 20
Shipshape Aquarium - Pub O'Danger
Time to protect Orla! Go ahead and present the Bloodied Coin when you can
and Phoenix will tell his theory to Fulbright. Fulbright in turn will contact
the police and prosecutors... Good news! It turns out that Blackquill is
willing to take this to court tomorrow! Well, at least we saved Orla from
being put down right away! Now just to defend a whale in court...

July 21, 9:21 AM
District Court - Defendant Lobby No. 3
*Yawn... good morning people! Athena will meet up with us here and hand
us the Swashbuckler movie she made from the performance, adding it to our
evidence:
o New Evidence: Swashbuckler Video
That was nice of her! We'll also get support from Pearls and Rimes as
well. Time to head into court!
July 21, 9:30 AM
District Court - Courtroom No. 4
===============================================================================
Day 1: Court is now in session! All Rise!
===============================================================================
The judge will comment on seeing Phoenix back in court as a lawyer. I guess
it HAS been awhile. He'll also soon learn that the defendant in this case is
an Orca, which causes a stir. Blackquill will soon show us a TV phone that is
being used to keep in contact with the aquarium:
o New Evidence: TV Phone
Oh, sounds like some good tech. Fulbright will pull up Orla on the TV
monitor and display the tech while Orla charms the judge! Heh. He'll go on
to explain the charges and presents us with a half-finished autopsy report:
o New Evidence: Shipley's Autopsy Report
Norma DePlume will be called in now as the first witness. Seems the judge
has heard of her at least. We'll soon get her testimony, followed by Simon
ATTEMPTING to close the case afterwards. Thankfully he can't just get his way
and we get our cross-examination.
Witness Testimony: The Moment of the Murder
-------------------------------------------
Witness: Norma DePlume
1. I went to Shipshape Aquarium to see the killer whale.
2. As I was watching the killer whale from the visitor's corridor, it
suddenly went crazy!
3. I saw the killer whale bite the victim to death with its huge mouth
and deadly teeth!
4. Attempting to remain calm, I reported the incident to the police
immediately.
Here you want to present "Shipley's Autopsy Report" at Statement #3.
Biting indeed! Simon will intervene here (of course...) and brings up the
security footage. He will have Taka help out and show us more of the footage,
including a segment with Orla biting Jack. Grrr....
o New Evidence: Security Footage (UPDATED!)
Well, that doesn't look particularly good. Simon will pile on and show us
another photo of the body that appears to have some sort of bruise on the
right wrist and bite marks in the clothing, updating out evidence:
o New Evidence: Photo of the Body (UPDATED!)
Still, the biting didn't actually kill Jack. The autopsy says as much.
Simon will ask Norma to recall the moments before Orla "toyed with her victim".
Norma will claim that it was headbutting the victim, but Phoenix will point out
that the security footage doesn't show the victim. Norma will explain how she
thought what she did... hmm, this still doesn't sound very good for us. Simon
will chip in about the incident a year ago, revealing a book that Norma
apparently wrote claiming that Orla killed her trainer a year ago! What!?!
o New Evidence: "The Killer Killer Whale"
We'll learn of the previous trainer, who was apparently head-butted and
bit at a show about a year ago. Ugh, this is bad. Phoenix will get some
encouragement from Sasha and Orla here, which is sorely needed.
Simon will now have Norma testify again. After she is done, Athena will
offer to use her special skills to help, which leads to us looking for noise.
Since this is DLC, you are likely already aware of how to point out emotional
inconsistencies in testimony, which is good since the game doesn't go in-depth
to explain it. On to the testimony!
Witness Testimony: What I Saw and What I Heard
----------------------------------------------
Witness: Norma DePlume, Noise LV. 100%
1. The killer whale's behavior was exactly the same as a year ago.
2. As I approached the pool...
3. ...the killer whale suddenly started singing .(Surprised)
4. I was calm when I saw it start to head-butt. (Sad, Surprised)
5. But when the pirate hat and victim came floating up, I let out a scream!
(Sad, Surprised)
Pinpoint out the SADNESS at Statement #4 here. Norma will comment that the
sadness was a result of seeing a cloud of blood, which the footage does seem
to show.
Witness Testimony: What I Saw and What I Heard
----------------------------------------------
Witness: Norma DePlume, Noise LV. 50%
1. The killer whale's behavior was exactly the same as a year ago.
2. As I approached the pool...
3. ...the killer whale suddenly started singing .(Surprised)
4. After it started head-butting, I saw that awful blood and was terrified.
(Sad, Surprised)
5. But when the pirate hat and victim came floating up, I let out a scream!
(Sad, Surprised)
Here, Pinpoint the SADNESS at Statement #5, as it is not very pronounced at
all. Norma will explain the blood disappeared after the orca put the pirate hat
on. OK... That doesn't make a lot of sense. You'll have to answer a question
soon:
QUESTION: From whom was this blood that Ms. DePlume saw actually coming from?
ANSWER: Orla Shipley
Phoenix will point out that if the blood disappeared after Orla put on the
hat, it was likely coming from her! This will cause Norma to recall where the
blood was really coming from and in remembering reduces her noise level down
to 0%. You'll soon come to another (multiple-choice) question though:
QUESTION: If I'm correct, then the victim's death occurred...
ANSWER:
1) Before DePlume saw it.
2) After DePlume saw it.
Pick Choice #1 here. Phoenix will continue talking to himself though, so get
ready for another question:
QUESTION: I must have something that can tell us about what happened before
10:10AM!
ANSWER: Present the "Security Footage" here.
Phoenix will request to see the footage starting at 10 AM, which shows...
othing!? You'll be asked a question soon though:
QUESTION: In the footage, we see...!
ANSWER:
1) Something important
2) Nothing important
As tempting as this question is, be honest and choose choice #2 (they will
call you out on it if you aren't!). Phoenix will soon object to Fulbright's
happiness, stating that something SHOULD have been scene, leading to another
question:
QUESTION: What is the important thing that you say should be in the footage,
but isn't?
ANSWER: Present "Photo of the Body" here.
Phoenix makes a good point: there's no one getting IN the pool. Plus no human
alive can hold their breath for that long. This revelation gets a good reaction
from the crowd. Time to bring up our key evidence!
QUESTION: What evidence shows that the crime may have been committed by
a human?
ANSWER: Present the "Bloodstained Coin" here.
Phoenix will explain how the coin (or coins) could have turned into the murder
weapon, leading to the possibility of a human attacker. Just what we needed!
Norma will bring up Orla's peculiar actions though and the similarities with a
year ago. This will eventually lead to another question about what Orla's
actions accomplished. Yes, we are explaining an Orca's actions...
QUESTION: How did the defendant's actions affect the case?
ANSWER:
1) They created a witness.
2) They killed the victim.
3) They got rid of evidence.
Pick choice #1 here to explain how Orla may have been manipulated. This of
course leads to the (easy to foresee) follow-up question:
QUESTION: Yes, there is a way to manipulate Orla's behavior, with this!
ANSWER: Present the "Whistle" here.
Phoenix will explain how anyone with the right knowledge can order Orla
around, swinging the judge to our way of thinking. This is all coming together
too easily, right? Upon the prospect of Orla being acquitted, Blackquill will
chime in and presents the bag the coins were in, however he claims that its
still possible Orla is the killer. He even goes so far as to suggest Orla is
the one manipulating people, and calls in a witness to prove it! Ugh, really!?
Listen to Marlon's introduction and testimony. After the flip flop music,
you'll talk for a bit about what Marlon saw and get some evidence updated:
o New Evidence: Orca Pool Diagram (UPDATED!)
We'll be able to cross examine shortly afterward:
Witness Testimony: The Man-Manipulating Orca
--------------------------------------------
Witness: Marlon Rimes
1. At about 10:10 AM, I was in the staff room.
2. I heard a loud noise from the pool room, so I went to the door to
look in.
3. I couldn't see the captain or the orca, but I saw a bunch of coins
scattered around.
4. The orca knows there's a certain spot people stand to play volleyball
with her.
5. I think maybe she knocked down the stuff that was piled up there and
hit the captain.
Present the "Calender" at Statement #1 here to question RImes on where he
really was at around 10:10 AM. Rimes will admit that he didn't personally hear
the noise but someone told him about it. Someone being... Sasha. Looks like
she will be taking the stand next, right after a recess.
July 21, 10:39 AM
District Court - Defendant Lobby No. 3
We'll meet Rimes here and get a chance to ask him about the calender.
This will actually update our evidence on it:
o New Evidence: Calender (UPDATED!)
This evidence just keeps changing it seems! No time to worry now, we have
to re-focus for Orla!
July 21, 11:02 AM
District Court - Courtroom No. 4
Sasha will be summoned to the stand and give her grand debut. It's almost
like being at the show! She didn't seem to be following the previous trial
session very well though. Soon, 'Nostache will have her give her testimony.
Go ahead and listen to it and hear that she doesn't remember the order of
the noises (which to me seems VERY unlikely...). Still, we'll get to
cross-examine soon.
Witness Testimony: Hearing the Noise
------------------------------------
Witness: Sasha Buckler
1. I admit I heard Orla summoning me with a loud noise.
2. But the aquarium guest's scream I heard over the walkie-talkie was
more urgent.
3. I talked to Norma DePlume first and then went to the pool room with
the security guard.
4. The equipment was everywhere, and... the captain was lying in the
middle of it all.
*4. The props for the new show were everywhere, and... the captain was
lying in the middle of it all.
* You get this by pressing Statement #4 and choosing "The things scattered
around" at the question. This will then turn into the new Statement #4.
Go ahead and press Statement #4 for the following question:
QUESTION: Specific questions, huh? Okay, let's see. What should I ask
her about?
ANSWER:
1) The things scattered around.
2) Jack Shipley.
Here, pick Choice #1 to (eventually) talk about the new show that the
aquarium was going to put on. This actually updates some evidence:
o New Evidence: Swashbuckler Flyer (UPDATED!)
Now that you have the original testimony altered, go ahead and press the
new Statement #4 to get another question:
QUESTION: Is there a problem with Sasha's testimony?
ANSWER:
1) No, no problem
2) Yes, there is
Pick Choice #2 here to point out the Captain's "usual costume" issue. Sasha
will explain that it doesn't really appear as an issue though, prompting scorn
from Blackquill and thinking from Phoenix. You'll soon be asked a question
and will have to point something out for the court.
QUESTION: What indicates that the body was not dragged into the water
after the items fell?
ANSWER: Point out the Red Scarf on the Captain.
Phoenix will use the evidence to blast apart the fact that Orla played with
the body after the equipment fell. Good going! However... if the bag of coins
isn't the murder weapon... what is? Phoenix will soon have to answer that
question:
QUESTION: What's the manner of death that moved the victim to the bottom
of the pool in an instant?
ANSWER:
1) Falling
2) Drowning
3) Assault
Pick Choice #1 here to have Phoenix present his case and shock the court.
It is... rather shocking to be sure. Phoenix will ask Sasha about the tricks
Orla knows next. You'll get a question soon about the new tricks Orla is
learning:
QUESTION: Now, which of these two tricks sounds relevant to the case?
ANSWER:
1) The human rocket trick.
2) The lifesaver trick.
Pick Choice #2 here to hear of the new trick. Sounds like it is related.
Sasha will get Orla to perform the trick for everyone, which leads to a
small video showing Orla do the trick. Neat! Phoenix will ask for the pool
to be examined but before that Blackquill will get an updated autopsy report:
o New Evidence: Shipley's Autopsy Report (UPDATED!)
Well... this sounds like good news! Apparently Shipley DID die from a fall!
We'll soon get a verdict for Orla. Good stuff! However... Blackquill isn't
quite done yet and promptly has Sasha arrested, going on to explain why.
Looks like our job is only half done!

Wright Anything Agency
Here you'll have to explain to Trucy and Apollo what happened. You'll also
end up giving Apollo all your unnecessary evidence. This gets rid of the pool
diagram and the bloody coin. Well... Time to go investigate!
July 21
Shipshape Aquarium - Orca Pool
Back at the Orca pool well encounter Fulbright and can ask him some questions.
Ask "Why arrest Buckler" first to re-verify that she was arrested due to her
keycard record, which adds new evidence:
o New Evidence: Security Card
Well, the card DOES make Sasha look bad, that's true. Before Fulbright leaves
though, he'll ask us to do him a favor and deliver Sasha's medicine to her,
handing over a prescription bag that also goes into evidence:
o New Evidence: Prescription Bag
Since we can't see Sasha yet or investigate, Phoenix will suggest questioning
people at the Aquarium. Let's go ahead and head to the Pub O'Danger.
July 21
Shipshape Aquarium - Pub O'Danger
When you get there, you'll find that a certain door is open... Hmm... After
barging in and getting caught, you'll finally get to meet the mysterious Dr.
Herman Crab, the resident veterinarian. You'll also get to meet his pet. Is
it just me or did Capcom design this guy after Sazh from Final Fantasy 13?
Maybe just a bit?
You'll be able to ask him some questions soon. Ask about "Herman Crab" first
to learn a little more about him and what exactly he does. He sure sounds
dedicated. Ask about the "Penguin Chick" next to learn it is actually Rifle's
daughter and is named Sniper. Rifle and Sniper. Nice.
Next ask "About the murder" to hear what he knows about it. Not much. He
sounds a bit dismayed, but seems much more interested in his lab. You'll get

a new talk option now, "Dr Crab's Lab". He'll explain his monitors but won't
get too detailed. He will tell us that he reported the argument between Sasha
and Jack though. Soon the chick will drive him crazy and he'll ask us to bring
him Rifle if we see her. This takes us to the Aqua Tunnel automatically.
July 21
Shipshape Aquarium - Aqua Tunnel
Instead of Rifle, you'll run into DePlume. Lovely. She's none too happy
either. We'll get to talk to her though. Ask her about "Last year's scoop"
to get some more info about the previous attack. Same date last year. Can't
be a coincidence. Ask about "Today's trial" next. This... this eventually
plays a "song" about the Swashbuckler Spectacular lyrics. Oh man... ahahaha.
Hilarious. It gets even better! Athena will sing the correct lyrics with
another animation! Hah!
This battle of lyrics heats up when DePlume demands proof of the change
in lyrics. Fair enough. Present to her the "Swashbuckler Video" to back up
our claim. DePlume accepts it but wonders how Orla knows two songs. This
updates our evidence:
o New Evidence (UPDATED!): Swashbuckler Video
After the lyrical debate, DePlume will mention investigating more and soon
give us a new talk option. Ask about "Dangerous Animal Control" to learn they
tried to get Orla put down as well. Norma suspects that Shipshape was bribing
them, but can't really prove it. For now Phoenix mentions we should regroup
at the office.
July 21
Wright Anything Agency
Phoenix will brief the gang here (and man, it really does feel like a gang).
Talk to Apollo about the "Investigation" and pick up a Forensics Kit from
Trucy for our next portion of investigating. You just KNOW this thing is
going to help. Back to the aquarium with Pearls this time!
July 21
Shipshape Aquarium - Orca Pool
Here Fulbright will give you permission to investigate. About time! He'll
also point out we can explore the bottom of the pool by interacting with the
ladder. You can examine the octopus, pirate flag and hoist here before heading
down, but you'll need to examine the ladder and head down eventually.
Down here you can examine Orla of course to report the court case to her.
Very cute! Examine the treasure here for a comment on how things are "Orla
Sized".
Pearls will soon interrupt and ask about the Forensics Kit. Looks like
she's itching to help. Phoenix will give the OK and we're off with the
Lumisol (once we put on our super duper glasses). Spray the skull rock to
reveal... a giant bloodstain! Well, this is going into evidence for sure!
o New Evidence: Skull Rock
Also be sure to squirt Orla (you monster!) to find more blood. Lovely.
Seems like Orla has some explaining to do! Fwee!
Once you are done, Athena will stop and take a picture of the pool bottom,
which Pearly helps mark with the reaction spots. This photo becomes our
newest evidence:
o New Evidence: Pool Bottom Photo
After this, Athena will notice that something is wrong with Orla... she
appears listless and is sinking. She'll run and get Dr. Crabs to check Orla
out and soon we'll be enlisted in her rescue!
Examine the pirate flag to get the stretcher for Orla. They'll clear
everything off of it. We'll have to get to the hoist now. Move the screen
once to the right and examine the button to the right of the pillar. Dr. Crab
will get to work on Orla and pulls something out of her stomach. Eww... He'll
also reassures Pearls that she didn't cause this, but acts awful secretive as
to the true cause.
Once you're able, examine Orla again for some dialog and then examine the
items to her right... her stomach contents. Among the fish is some capsule
that says "3Zs". Probably not good! This will go into evidence:
o New Evidence: Mysterious Capsule
Phoenix decides it is best not to ask Dr. Crab about this and we'll wait
for the staff to show up before saying we should head to the Show Stage.
July 21
Shipshape Aquarium - Show Stage
We'll get our first real look at this place and then meet up with Marlon
here. He'll be a tad upset, but will soon come around and let us investigate.
Go ahead and ask him about "Helping with cleaning" first to learn some of his
activities and where the rail system goes (I think I'd actually like to take
a ride!). Ask "About the murder" next to learn Marlon still considers the Orca
the prime suspect, and tells you about it "attacking" Sasha.
Time to examine the area! Examine the ship for some cute dialog, then the
hoist for some more. Athena is certifiably insane. Check out the skeleton as
well as the water. You can also check out the ladder. Yep, insane. Next check
out the sign on the right. Sasha made it for the new show, but it has that
skull rock on it. After noticing it our evidence will get updated.
o New Evidence: Skull Rock (UPDATED!)
We'll also get the sign as evidence as well.
o New Evidence: Handmade Sign
After talking about the sign, we'll open up a new talk option with Marlon
based on Sasha being mad at the new show. Exit examination mode and ask
Marlon about "The new show" to hear about why Sasha was mad. Wow... can't
really blame her, but it's just a rumor (for now). This updates some of our
evidence:
o New Evidence: Swashbuckler Flyer (UPDATED!)
After investigating, a surprising figure will show up. Blackquill!? He'll
be here for Marlon though, and will take him away for a talk about testifying.
Lovely. Marlon will give Pearls a TV receiver though as Pearls offers to take
care of Orla. You KNOW that'll be handy later.
We'll get a chance to ask Pearls about her forensic investigating now. Ask
her about "Peculiar Prints" to have her show you some weird prints left on
the nearby ladder. This will of course turn into evidence, but I have no
idea how it'll be helpful (yet...).
o New Evidence: Ladder Prints
Rifle will show up afterwards... and head straight to Pearly. Go figure.
Now that we're done investigating the show stage, the team will decide to
head back to the office to talk to Apollo about the mysterious pill. You'll
head there automatically.
July 21
Wright Anything Agency
Good to be back home. Here we'll get a chance to talk with Apollo.
Go ahead and talk about the investigation if you want (although it really
doesn't go anywhere). Next go ahead and present the Mysterious Capsule to
Apollo to have him check it out for you. After that it's off to the Detention
Center to go talk to Sasha. We'll head there automatically.
July 21
Detention Center - Visitor's Room
Sasha and Athena will butt heads here in their efforts to, well... cheer
each other up. Heh. Sasha will be emotional upon hearing we'll help her (no
thanks to Blackquill). We'll be able to talk to her soon. Go ahead and ask
"About the murder" to learn about Sasha's whereabouts and what she was up to.
Next ask about "Orla" to learn about her tricks. Specifically the lifesaver
trick. There's some interesting stuff here that is bound to come in handy at
the trial and our Whistle evidence will get updated:
o New Evidence: Whistle (UPDATED!)
After learning this, Athena will remind us we have to return something to
Sasha. Go into your evidence and present the "Prescription Bag" to her. You'll
learn about her heart condition here and will unlock a new talk option soon.
Ask "About the fight" next to learn the reason they were fighting. It figures
it had to do with her condition. We'll also learn how the octopus leg got
broke. Sweet Orla! We'll also learn how desperate Sasha was to be in the show
(and why), which includes what she did to try and ensure she'd be in the old
show at least:
o New Evidence: Skull Rock (UPDATED!)
We'll have a new talk option after learning this. Ask Sasha about "Azura
Summers" to learn about her and Sasha. You'll see Sasha's charm memento of
her and learn of the captains walkie-talkie memento. This sparks Phoenix into
saying we should show Sasha the pictures of the victim. Present to her the
"Photo of the body" evidence to show her that there was no walkie-talkie
present, which is strange. This leads to some evidence consolidation.
Sasha will explain the walkie-talkie a bit more and then make a REALLY
weird statement. Ask about "The ship's doctor" next to learn Crab was
planning to euthanize Orla if she was found guilty! Ahhh! But he seemed so
nice! Hmm...
Next, present the "Calender" evidence to Sasha to learn that it isn't
hers after all. This will update our evidence:
o New Evidence: Calender (UPDATED!)
Yet another time this evidence has changed. I feel like this calender is
super important. Athena and Phoenix will agree that a visit with Dr. Crab
is in order, so we'll move on automatically.
July 21
Shipshape Aquarium - Pub O'Danger
You'll run into Pearls and Rifle here... and then soon Dr. Crab and Sniper.
After a bit of fighting Dr. Crab will get some food for Sniper (which is a
tad disgusting... even if it's how it is done...).
Soon we'll be able to talk to Dr. Crab. Ask him about "Rifle's condition"
first to see the discoloration on the bottom of her feet and, well... witness
her throw something up. Jeez, do all the animals here have weird stuff in
their stomachs!? Rifle throws up what appears to be a charm like the one
Sasha had! Dr. Crab isn't really talking to us though, keeping his eye on the
monitoring system. This actually turns into a new talk subject. Pick
"Monitoring system" now to talk about it a bit and eventually discover that
Dr. Crab has a secret... and two Psyche-Locks! Gah!
Before getting to that, talk about "The charm" next. Dr. Crab get's AWFUL
defensive here and refuses to talk about it, especially when the boyfriend
part comes up. Are you thinking what I'm thinking...?
o New Evidence: Charm
You'll talk a little more on Azure's death. Seems like Dr. Crab is convinced
Orla is the culprit. After the talk, use your Magatama to take a crack at his
psyche locks!
MAGATAMA: Dr. Herman Crab
- The Monitoring System -
Phoenix will press Dr. Crab on the nature of the monitoring system, leading
to a question.
QUESTION: I have proof that you can't monitor the animals 24/7 with this
system.
ANSWER: Present the "Security Footage" here.
This breaks one of the locks. Turns out "24/7" is a bit of a stretch. Still,
Dr. Crab explains he is almost always around and can go anywhere. This pops up
another question:
QUESTION: I have proof that there's a place you can't go!
ANSWER: Present the "Security Card" here.
This breaks the last security lock and lowers all the chains. Good job!
MAGATAMA UNLOCK SUCCESSFUL!
We'll be able to ask him about the "Monitoring system" fully now. To the
victor go the spoils! He'll tell you about his TORPEDO system, including
how it works. He'll also go over Rifle and Orla a bit. This all goes into
our court record:
o New Evidence: TORPEDO Data
After this a new talk option will show up. Ask him about "Why hide the
TORPEDO?" here to learn that it's not exactly legal... Dr. Crab is OK with
us using this at the trial though. Soon he'll get a phone call (nice
ringtone!) and drop some key words! Calender and euthanize! Yikes!
A new talk option will show up. Ask him about "Euthanasia" to get his views
on it and learn about the phone call. You'll also see the capsule he'd use...
which you should immediately recognize. But there's no way, right!? Next,
present the "Calender" to him like Phoenix suggested to learn that it is
indeed his. He'll mention Azure designed the thing before she died. Athena
will ask him if they were a couple, which he (shakily) denies. Hmm... Phoenix
will also ask about the meeting with Jack, which Dr. Crab advises never took
place. All of this updates our calender evidence yet again...
o New Evidence: Calender (UPDATED!)
After the calender, Phoenix will ask about the comment Norma made... about
the aquarium possibly bribing someone. This causes Dr. Crab to have FIVE
psyche-locks! Sheesh! Before we even have a chance to get into it further,
Fulbright will show up and whisk the doctor away. Wonderful. Looks like
that'll come up in tomorrow's trial for sure...
Phoenix will than have Athena clean out the Court Record in preparation.
This gets rid of a lot of evidence we won't need in the trial tomorrow, like
the show flyer and security feed. After that, Apollo will call us up with an
update on the capsule. Turns out that it is actually some sort of sleeping
pill, ordered by Dr. Crab. Interesting. This will update our evidence:
o New Evidence: '3 Zs' Sleeping Pill (UPDATED!)
Apollo will go on to share that apparently Azure and Sasha have the same
heart condition... how in the world!?! Wow. OK... Pearls will stay at the
aquarium for tomorrow's trial while the gang heads back to the office to get
ready. It should prove to be very revealing...
TO BE CONTINUED...

July 22, 9:17 AM
District Court - Defendant Lobby No. 3
Sasha will be shocked to hear that Azure's boyfriend may have been Dr. Crab.
Heh. Upon hearing that though, she'll reveal that Azure used to send her
boyfriend videos of her teaching Orla, which included the whistles.
Interesting. This updates some evidence:
o New Evidence: TV Phone (UPDATED!)
Sasha still can't believe the possibility of Azure and Dr. Crab together...
but the evidence strongly suggests it! I guess we'll see for sure! Time to
enter the court room!
July 22, 9:30 AM
District Court - Courtroom No. 4
===============================================================================
Day 2: Court is now in session! All Rise!
===============================================================================
The judge will sum up what happened in the last trial and bring up the
blood-stained rock. Simon confirms it and has already started his games.
Lovely. Simon will soon call upon Dr. Crab as a witness, bringing him to
the stand.
Sniper and Taka will get to know each other a bit here. Heh. Sniper better
be careful or he'll be lunch! Dr. Crab will give his testimony soon. Go ahead
and listen. We'll be able to cross-examine soon enough:
Witness Testimony: Cleaning the Orca Pool Room
-----------------------------------------------
Witness: Dr. Herman Crab
1. In the early morning hours of July 20th, Sasha was cleaning the orca
pool room.
2. Sasha and Jack Shipley, the owner, were scheduled to do the cleaning
' together.
|
`--> PRESS for Statement #3.
3. The record of card usage shows that Sasha entered the orca pool room.
4. During cleaning, the pool water is drained.
5. While the cleaning was going on, Marlon was taking care of the orca
in the show pool.
6. The pool water would never be drained unless the pool was being cleaned.
'
|
`--> PRESS for Statement #7.
7. If there was no water in the pool, the orca could die.
Here, present the "Pool Bottom Photo" at Statement #7.
Phoenix will point out using the photo that it is indeed possible to drain a
PART of the tank and yet still keep Orla just fine. Phoenix and Athena will
bring up the calender next and present it to the court. The date and time still
look awfully fishy. Phoenix will also explain that it is Dr. Crab's calender,
prompting the judge to ask him about it. Crab will explain that he just...
ended up not going to the meeting. Bah! Simon will pile on and say that if Dr.
Crabs is suspicious we need more proof. Bah again! We'll have to answer a
multiple-choice question soon:
QUESTION: What circumstance was different between the two possibilities of
cleaning and 7 AM?
ANSWER:
1) The pool was half filled.
2) The Orca was there.
3) The time of day was different.
Pick choice #2 here to come to the conclusion Orla must have witnessed the
murder. Still... despite what this means, what are we going to do with this
info... This actually leads to a question and a critical turning point:
QUESTION: The defense will...
ANSWER:
1) Cross-examine Orla
2) Continue with Crab
3) Present evidence
Select choice #3 here to disappoint the judge. I, uh... kinda wished we
could cross-examine the orca as well! Heh. This leads to a new question
though, about evidence:
QUESTION: What evidence shows that the murder took place right in front
of the orca?
ANSWER: Present the "Pool Bottom Photo" here.
Phoenix will explain that during our Luminol testing we actually found
positive tests on Orla herself. Simon dismisses this though and comments
that they found some of Orla's blood on the Skull Rock as well, updating
our evidence on it:
o New Evidence: Skull Rock (UPDATED!)
Despite Simon's reasoning, Phoenix will point out that the location of the
blood shows that it all couldn't have been from the head-butting and asserts
that the blood is likely from the victim (causing the crowd to liven up!).
Phoenix will then put some pieces together and will then tell the judge there
is even more evidence, leading to a question!
QUESTION: ...That evidence that proves the culprit thought Orla was a
dangerous witness!
ANSWER: Present the "3Zs" Sleeping Pill here.
Phoenix will explain just what the drug does to the court and then ask Dr.
Crab if he bought these pills. As you can imagine, Dr. Crab isn't very pleased
and gets rather angry at the "Veterinarian Slander" going on! Dr. Crab will
become calmer and explain his drugs were stolen, and then slyly comment that
he was the one that saved Orla.
True... but Phoenix points out it took a lot to get that to happen. Thanks to
Simon, this leads to a question on how the doctor could have known about Orla's
condition:
QUESTION: The defense would like to submit evidence that the witness knew
about Orla's condition.
ANSWER: Present the "TORPEDO Data" here.
So now we're bringing up the device that's not exactly legal... heh. Turns
out Simon didn't know about it! Dr. Crab will explain how the device works
while Sniper does some sort of examination no him (OK, that is cute...). The
judge then advises he'll come back to the illegality later...
Dr. Crab explains that he got no notice from the sensor concerning Orla, so
he couldn't come right away. We'll get into how the sensor's work and where
the location of the orca sensor is after Simon has a little laugh. Seems like
the orca sensor was out of commission. This does NOT help our "Dr. Crab is the
bad guy" spiel from a few minutes ago, which I'm sure is what Simon was
laughing about!
After the commotion, Simon will bring up WHEN Orla could have been fed the
pill, leading to the question of who all has fed Orla recently. Of course
Sasha is named, which admittedly looks bad for us. Phoenix chides Simon for
leaving out information though, leading to a question where we must point out
who else fed Orla during the trial...
QUESTION: The other person who fed Orla during the trial was...
ANSWER: Present "Marlon Rimes" here.
Simon will then call on Marlon Rimes to come to the stand. I guess he HAS
to now. Dr. Crab will then give us the charm and explain that it isn't even
his... but he's not about to tell us who's it is and then encourages us to
find the truth. Gee, thanks for the help Dr. Crab!
Marlon will show up and upon hearing what he's there for he'll act like
he's been caught. Listen to his testimony though and prepare for a shock!
Marlon will testify to "The Truth" and cast blame back on the orca, even going
so far as to make a way out for Sasha. He'll even insist that we can only save
one of them. Wow... time for our cross-investigation.
Witness Testimony: The Truth
-----------------------------
Witness: Marlon Rimes
1. Sasha is lyin' to protect that orca.
2. At 3:30 AM on the 20th, there was still water in the orca pool.
3. The incident happened before the orca was moved to the show pool!
4. Orla killed the captain by bashin' him 30 feet high and makin' him slam
down on the water!
5. So I thought the orca should pay the consequences.
Present the "Shipley's Data" at Statement #4 here.
Phoenix will point out the difference in Marlon's testimony and the autopsy.
Simon thanks us for shutting Marlon up and having the suspicion remain on
Sasha. Ugh, we gotta do something fast! Right before the verdict, Phoenix
stops it to present a counter-argument. You'll go through the prosecution's
case and then Phoenix will claim the murder didn't happen in the pool room!
You'll of course be asked to state where the murder actually happened,
leading to a question:
QUESTION: Where was the real murder scene?
ANSWER: Point out the "Show Pool" here.
This is of course the only other possibility, as it could have been drained
of water as well. Everyone seems to believe you are bluffing though, and will
ask how the body was moved, leading to another question:
QUESTION: Was there something at the scene that could've been used to move
the body?
ANSWER: Point out the hoist above the pool.
Phoenix will explain how the hoist could move a body easily, trying to make
his case for a different crime scene. Simon gets upset here and will break
his shackles... again.. He'll then tell us that the crane can only be used
from the Orca Pool room, meaning that even if a body was moved, Sasha was
the one moving it! Ugh, not good. Phoenix thinks of a way though. Soon we'll
have to answer a question:
QUESTION: Do I have an objection to the claim that the defendant moved the
body?
ANSWER:
1) You bet I have one!
2) I have no objections.
Choose choice #2 here. You know what Phoenix is thinking, right? So clever!
We'll soon have to answer the question on how the body was moved:
QUESTION: The culprit made Ms. Buckler move the body along with this
piece of evidence!
ANSWER: Present the "Skull Rock" here.
Phoenix will explain how the body move could have been done and backs it up
with the new show flyer. He'll also show how the security footage plays into
all of this with Orla head-butting the rock like Ms. DePlume saw! Simon will
try to object, but Phoenix shuts him up by telling them to test the inside of
the rock!
The judge will ask who the perpetrator was, leading to Marlon... confessing?
Wha...!? Really? He'll than tell us that he's going to tell us the "Whole
Truth". Oh man...
Before we get started, Athena will volunteer to do a counseling session.
We'll also get a short tutorial on how to "Probe" statements and look for
out-of-control emotions. Sounds like fun! Let's do this!
Witness Testimony: The Whole Truth
-------------------------------------
Witness: Marlon Rimes, Noise Lv. 100%
1. In the show pool, the orca shot the captain up into the air! (ANGRY, SAD).
2. Then the captain came down and slammed into the water! (ANGRY, SAD).
3. I can still remember the spectators' screams clearly... (ANGRY, SAD).
4. All Sasha did was move the body! She was tryin' to protect the orca.
(ANGRY, SAD).
5. When Ms. DePlume witnessed the orca findin' the body, I freaked. (ANGRY,
SAD).
Here, point out the SPECTATORS in Statement #3.
Phoenix will remark that there couldn't have been spectators to the murder,
which Marlon concedes was a mistake. This reduces his noise level down to 60%.
Athena and Phoenix will discuss how he could have mistaken spectators being
present... which eventually turns into a case of mixed memories and a question:
QUESTION: The reason why Mr. Rimes mixed up his memories is...
ANSWER: Present "The Killer Killer Whale" here.
Phoenix will question Marlon on the killing a year ago and although Marlon
tries to deny being anything but a spectator, Athena will question his sadness.
Simon will soon have enough with these "FEELINGS" though (heh!) and demand
evidence, leading to a question.
QUESTION: Let's see this "evidence" that has to do with Marlon Rime's sadness!
ANSWER: Present the "Charm" here.
Marlon will react to the charm quite drastically, causing Phoenix and Athena
to investigate it closer (why didn't they do this before!?). They'll find a
picture of Marlon and Azure in the charm, finally getting Marlon to admit they
were a couple. Simon insists it has nothing to do with this case though. We'll
soon be investigating Marlon's anger:
Witness Testimony: The Whole Truth
------------------------------------
Witness: Marlon Rimes, Noise Lv. 60%
1. In the show pool, the orca shot the captain up into the air! (ANGRY).
2. Then the captain came down and slammed into the water! (ANGRY).
3. I can still remember the Captain's dead body clearly. (ANGRY).
4. All Sasha did was move the body! She was tryin' to protect the orca.
(ANGRY).
5. When Ms. DePlume witnessed the orca findin' the body, I freaked. (ANGRY).
Go ahead and pinpoint Orla at Statement #1.
Phoenix will ask Marlon about his anger at Orla, but Marlon will say that we
should present evidence, bringing up another question:
QUESTION: Do I have proof that Mr. Rimes has a reason to be mad...?
ANSWER:
1) I've got your proof!
2) Um... No?
Choose choice #1 here and Phoenix will automatically use the charm to deduce
why Marlon is angry. Yes, I know, it's silly we had to even prove this...
Marlon will admit it finally though, dropping his noise level down to 30%.
We're getting there! We'll have to go through another round of counseling
though:
Witness Testimony: The Whole Truth
------------------------------------
Witness: Marlon Rimes, Noise Lv. 30%
1. In the show pool, the orca shot the captain up into the air! (ANGRY, SAD).
2. Then the captain came down and slammed into the water! (ANGRY, SAD).
3. I can still remember it clearly... (ANGRY, SAD).
4. All Sasha did was move the body! She was tryin' to protect the orca.
(ANGRY, SAD).
5. When Ms. DePlume witnessed the orca findin' the body, I freaked.
(ANGRY, SAD).
Here, pick "Surprised" at Statement #5.
Phoenix will comment on the lack of "freaked" in what happened, deducing
that Marlon meant to make sure Norma saw the orca and the body. Oooo, devious!
This lowers the noise down to 0%.
Marlon will then admit to framing Orla and then undergoes quite a
transformation. I seriously DID NOT see that coming. How can you grow mass
like that!? Where did the swordfish come from? So many questions! His rap
leaves everyone at a loss of words...
After the show, Marlon advises he never harbored hate for the captain, only
Orla. Phoenix thinks for a minute and will tell the judge he knows who Marlon
meant to kill:
QUESTION: I will now reveal the identity of the individual Mr. Rimes meant
to kill from the start!
ANSWER: Ora Shipley
Well... duh. That all seemed unnecessary. Keep going though and Phoenix will
soon tie it together with the Show Pool in the next question:
QUESTION: This is what Mr. Rimes removed in an attempt to kill Orla.
ANSWER: Point out the water!
That would explain how it was possible for Jack to fall to his death, for
sure. Marlon will object soon and ask how you can prove he was doing anything
other than looking out for Orla, leading Phoenix to bust out the TORPEDO and
point out he wasn't even feeding Orla. Somehow this whole topic turns into a
question of where did Orla's fish go! Haha! Oh man... but seriously, where did
they go?
QUESTION: This was the visitor to the show stage!
ANSWER:
1) Sasha Buckler
2) Herman Crab
3) Rifle
Pick choice #3 here and present Rifle! Marlon will doubt you though, asking
you to present evidence. Bah. So it goes!
QUESTION: This is the proof that Rifle visited the show stage!
ANSWER: Present the "Handmade Sign" here.
Phoenix will advise that Sasha made the sign for the new show and left it to
dry with Marlon on the show stage. We'll need to point out how we know Rifle
visited though:
QUESTION: Where is this proof that the penguin visited the show stage? Please
point it out.
ANSWER: Point out the pink penguin footprints in the upper left corner of
the sign.
We have the proof! TORPEDO even confirms Rifle ate SOMETHING around that time.
However, Marlon sticks with the fact that he never saw a penguin, leading
Phoenix and Athena to work out what could have happened. This naturally leads
to a question. Naturally.
QUESTION: Is there a place in the show stage area from which Rifle couldn't
have been seen?
ANSWER: Point out the bottom of the pool.
While this seems like a small inconsistency to Simon, Phoenix explains how
it all happened and how Marlon could have done everything and cast all blame
on Orla. Quite the plan, really. Phoenix seems to be on a roll... until Simon
jumps in and points out that our case hinges on Marlon giving commands to Orla.
Marlon jumps at the lifeline and agrees that he is incapable of controlling
Orla, bringing our case to a screeching halt. Thanks Simon!
Things look bad, but Athena objects for us and gives us some support. After
the pep-talk, Phoenix will bring up cross-examining the "central figure" to
both cases, bringing up a question:
QUESTION: Who is this "central figure in both cases"?
ANSWER: Present "Ora Shipley".
Yes... yes we are going there. Yes, we are crazy. This is truly a Phoenix
Wright game! Ha! Enjoy the reaction as the game sets up a checkpoint here
and everyone breaks for a recess.

July 22nd, 11:21 AM
District Court - Defendant Lobby No. 3
Athena and Phoenix will discuss calling Orla and trying to get a clue out
of her. They also mention the prints in the show pool. Sasha will show up
and express surprise over Marlon. Norma will show up as well and vow to
reveal all in her new book. And finally Dr. Crab will show up and eventually
describe what he saw when Azure died. Phoenix will bring up her heart
condition when he hears about her clutching her chest, which shocks the
aquarium employees. Seems like they didn't know! Dr. Crab will also admit
that he never planned on putting Orla down, but did plan to put her to sleep
and free her later. Awww...
Norma will be shocked at the possibility of Azure's death and will end up
telling us her client is Marlon, who asked her to be at the aquarium.
Interesting. Herman will give us one last hint and tell us to focus in on the
orca's song. Soon we'll have to head back in to resume battle!
July 22nd, 11:30 AM
District Court - Courtroom No. 4
Court is back in session and Orla is on the screen. Aww, how cute! Phoenix
will also call on Pearl to help here, prompting the judge to remember her.
Simon won't indulge any chit-chat though and we'll soon hear Orla's testimony.
Witness Testimony: How Orla was Manipulated
-------------------------------------------
Witness: Ora Shipley
1. Fweeet... Fwe fweeet. Fwe fwe fweet fwe fweeet!
2. Fwe fwe! *click* Fwe fwe fwe fweet!
3. *whir* *click* Fweet fweet!
4. Fweet? Fwe fweeeeet!
Here, you really should press all of the statements. They... are.. hilarious!
Once you are done though, you'll get a question:
(-NOTE-) Alternately, you can present the "TV Phone" up above on any of hte
lines... but it skips the following question...
QUESTION: What should I do? Should I continue the cross-examination?
ANSWER:
1) Continue cross-examination.
2) Stop here.
Pick choice #2 here to prevent Blackquill from losing it and you'll have
to (finally) present how Rimes could have made the orca do its tricks:
QUESTION: So how did Mr. Rimes issue commands to Orla...?
ANSWER: Present the "TV Phone" here.
Phoenix will recall the story Sasha told him about Summers and her boyfriend.
Pearls is currently using Marlon's TV phone, so Phoenix will ask her to look
for saved videos with the orca tricks. Sure enough, she'll find them and gets
Orla to do the lifesaver trick. Ha! Just what we needed! Phoenix will also get
Orla to sing for him. Soon he'll have Pearls send the videos to the courtroom
which will start an animated scene!
After the video, our TV Phone will be updated:
o New Evidence: TV Phone (UPDATED!)
The judge will conclude it is possible that Marlon could command the orca
after seeing all of this. Simon will argue that it was equally possible that
Sasha could have done these tricks for Norma as well, leading to another
question:
QUESTION: Could Sasha have shown these two tricks to the witness?
ANSWER:
1) She could have.
2) She couldn't have.
Pick choice #2 here to challenge Simon, which naturally leads toa follow up
question with evidence:
QUESTION: My sword is... evidence that the two tricks couldn't have been
shown at the same time!
ANSWER: Present the "Whistle" here.
Phoenix will explain that Orla was taught to only do a single trick at a
time. So how did Norma see two? The court will talk about it for a bit before
the judge finally asks you which trick was fake:
QUESTION: Which of the two was faked, the lifesaver trick, or the singing
trick?
ANSWER:
1) The lifesaver trick
2) The song
3) They were both faked.
Choose choice #2 here, which immediately launches you into another question:
QUESTION: And on what grounds do you base your assertion that the singing
trick was faked?
ANSWER: Present the "Swashbuckler Video" here.
Remember when Norma told us the song she knew a year ago was different
than the current song? Phoenix will bring this fact up to the court and
how the song Norma hear was the same one as a year ago! Therefore only
Marlon could have pulled this off with that video! Simon will ask how he
did it with Norma watching (of course), leading to another question:
QUESTION: Marlon Rimes played the song recording by using this!
ANSWER: Point out the speaker in the upper left corner.
Simon prods us on how Marlon did this, leading to another question (sometimes
I think my entire job in this guide is typing out questions... oh well! Heh.).
QUESTION: Here's how Rimes played the song over the speaker in the
visitor's corridor.
ANSWER: Present the "Walkie-Talkie" here.
Phoenix will pressure Marlon for the truth... and gets nothing. Marlon will
testify again. Heh, "The Dissin' of Phoenix Wright"! Ha! Go ahead and listen,
we'll have our chance to cross-examine soon!
Witness Testimony: The Dissin' of Phoenix Wright
------------------------------------------------
Witness: Marlon Rimes
1. YO! WALKIE-TALKIE BE BROKE 4 REAL! MR. LAWYER'S FREESTYLE GOT NO APPEAL.
2. BROKE B4 DEPLUME ON DA SCENE! BROKE B4 WRIGHT COULD EVA DREAM!
3. LEGIT GOOFED DURING CLEANING TIME AYE! BUT BILGE-SUCKING LAWYER SPITTIN'
LIES!
4. DAT ORCA YO DON'T LISTEN TO ME, 'KAY? KILL THE CAPT? YO YOU SO CRAY-CRAY!
Here, press Statement #3 to get to inspect the walkie-talkie.
Once you have it, the game will tell you how to inspect it, meaning you can
move the evidence around and inspect it up close and personal. Turn it around
and you'll find some teeth marks on it. Interesting. Phoenix will then recall
the story about Azure's walkie-talkie he heard yesterday. The plot thickens!
After learning all that, present "Shipley's Data" at Statement #1.
Phoenix will explain to the court how the walkie-talkie presented is
likely Jack Shipleys (or, Azure's old walkie-talkie). Rimes still isn't
budging though (he REALLY has it out for that orca!). He'll claim his own
walkie-talkie was bit and he's had several fights with Orla in the past.
Man, this guy doesn't give up!
Soon we'll go into focus mode, which as you may remember means Phoenix will
have to answer a bunch of question, one after another, to deduce something.
Fun.
QUESTION: Which piece of evidence left on the walkie-talkie could prove
it belongs to the victim?
ANSWER: The orca's tooth marks.
Next we compare the tooth marks to the dummy tooth marks.
QUESTION: What's striking about these two pieces of evidence?
ANSWER: The tooth marks are different.
Indeed, they do look different. But... why?
QUESTION: Wasn't there a trick of Orla's that had two different variations
as well?
ANSWER: The show song.
This leads into how those facts could be related:
QUESTION: What's behind the fact that the orca's tooth marks and song were
different a year ago.
ANSWER: It was a different orca.
Wow... Phoenix announces his finding and shocks everyone. Simon concedes
the possibility, but demands evidence (as always...), leading to a question:
QUESTION: I will now submit two videos with which the different songs and
teeth can be compared!
ANSWER: Present the "TV Phone".
QUESTION: And here is the other...
ANSWER: Present the "Swashbuckler Video".
Phoenix will compare the videos in-depth and show everyone that there are,
in fat, two orcas! This of course brings the case around back to Marlon!
You'll see quite a scene here.
Soon we'll call on Sasha for the truth, who will confirm what Phoenix learned.
Marlon will also finally be ready to talk about the truth and what he did and
didn't know. Simon will bring up the bruise on Jack's wrist, which causes
Phoenix to dwell on what it could mean and if the real truth has truly been
shown...
Right before the "Not Guilty" verdict, Phoenix stops the judge and brings up
the handprint, saying he doesn't believe it was due to a fight. This brings up
a question for us:
QUESTION: A mysterious piece of evidence that pairs with Mr. Rimes's
unnatural handprint!
ANSWER: Present the "Ladder Prints" here.
Phoenix will explain how all of the odd positioning of the handprints could
add up... and eventually gets the truth out of Marlon on exactly what happened
between him and Jack Shipley. You'll also learn why Marlon acted like he did.
Phoenix will then tell Marlon about Ora's actions and Azure's heart condition,
both of which he had no idea about.
Words of encouragement will be given as the trial comes to an end and we get
our "Not Guilty" verdict.
July 22, 5:11 PM
Shipshape Aquarium - Orca Pool
Congratulations are passed around here as everyone comes to say hi. Dr. Crab
will talk Sasha out of a performance and will soon share a secret with us that
we never did figure out on our own: what the calender appointment really
meant... and the fate of Ora. Ha! That took me by surprise! We'll soon have to
give Orla a celebratory prize!
QUESTION: Let's see... What can I give her?
ANSWER: Present the fish!
Enjoy the scene as Orla thanks Phoenix. You'll get a cutaway now as Phoenix
talks about everyone making comebacks, leading to...
Date: ??? Time: ???
Shipshape Aquarium - Entrance
This is pretty much the epilogue to the story. Go ahead and check in on
everyone and see what they've been up to. Phoenix will eventually cut
everything to black and give a final farewell before the episode comes to
a close.

Version 1.00: May 13th, 2014 - July 30th, 2014
----------------------------------------------
Another in-consistent work log. I worked on this guide on and off for awhile
but definitely had chunks of time with no work. Most of it was done from July
28th - July 30th. This case was hilarious and I'm glad I finally got this done.
