1. Intro****************************S1***************************************
Welcome to an FAQ for what is MOST DEFINITELY my favorite application on the
Nintendo 3DS console. Nintendo 3DS Sound, a music-playing program that'll save
you money on an MP3 player, and with decent quality and speakers! Anyhow, I
hope you enjoy!

4. Recording a Sound****************************S4***************************
From the start-up menu, select "Record & Edit Sounds".

From there, tap a bubble with the "..." in it. Tap the red circle in the
center of the pop-up to begin recording. After you're done, wait for the 10
seconds to run out or press the square button. Tap a color to identify the
sound and save it.

You can store eighteen ten-second recordings on the 3DS System Memory, ninety
(or so) on the included 2 GB SD Card, and 180 on a 4 GB SD Card.

5. Editing a Sound****************************S5*****************************
From the start-up menu, select "Record & Edit Sounds".

First, select a colored-in sound bubble. From there, you'll find two things.
One button with a crosshair, and another with four boxes.

The crosshair affects your speed and pitch of the sound. As the cursor moves
up and down, the pitch of the sound will get higher and lower, respectively.
As the cursor moves left and right, the sound will get slower and faster,
respectively. As the speed increases or decreases, the recording time will
decrease or increase, though it WILL NOT GO ABOVE 10 SECONDS.

Next, tap the other icon with the four squares inside. You'll see four icons
representing four sound recording filters. Tap one to put the recording through
said filter.

At the start, there are four filters: Parakeet, Electric Fan, Low Harmony, and
Trumpet. However, repeating tapping of the same filter reveals more filters.

|      Parakeet     |     Robot      |     Helium      |     Parakeet       |
|-------------------+----------------+-----------------+--------------------|
|    Electric Fan   |     Tunnel     |   Transceiver   |    Electric Fan    |

 \__________________|________________|_________________|___________________/

Essentially, two more filters are hiding behind any filter at any given time.

When are done messing around, hit the "Save" button. You'll then hear the
recording once more and then get to select a new color if desired. This edited
file will be forever shown with a square bubble.

To delete a sound, go to the sound bubble screen, put the cursor over a song,
and hit "Erase".

6. Listening to SD Card Music****************************S6******************
For this, you will need a SD Card with music files in one of these formats:

- .m4a
- .mp4
- .mp3
- .3gp

Additionally, the bitrate must be between 16 and 320 kbps (it usually is). The
sampling rate also must be between 32 and 48 KHz. If the music file has any
copyright protection, then you cannot listen to it.

After this, go to the start-up menu and go down until you find the folder
containing the desired song. And then tap the song to play it.

While you are doing this, a visualizer appears on top. There is little to this
aside from the fact it provides something to look, except for the game where
you use the analog stick to move and hit the soccer ball for points. Pull the
blue pulley on the Touch Screen or use the D-Pad to change the visualizer.
You can also use L/R to create sounds; use the D-Pad or the arrows in the
corners of the Touch Screen to change them.

7. Messing With SD Card Music****************************S7******************
When listening to SD Card music, you do the same things to them as regular
recordings, except that you cannot save the changed file.

The crosshair will affect speed and pitch. As the cursor moves up and down,
the music becomes higher and lower pitched, respectively. As the cursor goes
left and right, the music becomes slower and faster, respectively. The filter
icon can put the music to sound like it's from an old-style radio, karoke, an
echo, or 8-bit. If you have some speed metal (ie. DragonForce), try listening
with it on the 8-bit. Weird! O_o

8. Making an SD Playlist****************************S8***********************
To add a song to your playlist, you can hit the "Add" button in the corner of
the Touch Screen whilst listening to the song.

You can select it to be in your Top 10 list, your Practice list, and your
StreetPass list. You can also make a new playlist with the name, icon, and
songs of your choice. Hit "Add" to put the song into the selected list.

The playlists are listed first, below Autoplay, though that is also a playlist.
Autoplay just has some random lists - nothing special. Below that are your
playlists. Enjoy!

9. Miscellaneous****************************S9*******************************
- The Nintendo DSi Sound allowed the same formats as this, save for .mp3.
- The recording filters on here are the same on the Nintendo DSi Sound.
- If you listen to music, but want to close the system, you can still listen
to the music if you use the headphone jack.
- You can exchange the song being listened to in StreetPass mode - not the song
 itself, though.
- Try looking at some of the visualizers in 3D!!

10. Settings****************************S10**********************************
- Audio Output: Is the music played in surround, stereo, or mono sound on both
the 3DS speakers and the headphones?
- Tap Sound: Does the sound of you tapping the options make noise?
- Usage Tips: View tips given to you by the Parakeet.
- Data Management: Allows bulk deletion of unwanted recordings.
- Interface Color: Change the color of the bars, like the bottom bar.
