-Things to Know-

Before you read this guide, information on the format of this transcript should
be explained.

In the Game Records section, I've written down several dashes (-). I wrote
these down as opposed to numbers that would normally appear in the in-game
reports in order to make the information easier to understand.

In the Treasures section, the treasures are written in the same order as they
appear in the in-game reports. Paragraph breaks indicate different rows in a
certain section. For example, Sora can find 34 treasures in Traverse Town.
There are six rows of five treasures and one row of four treasures displayed in
the in-game reports. I've written seven paragraphs: six with five items, and
the last one with four items.

The terms "Namine", "Cite", and "Fishbone" originally had accented "e"s in
their names, but due to Gamefaqs' written character restrictions, those accents
have been replaced with ordinary "e"s. The Greek letter in "X-blade" has also
been changed to a simple "X", and the "i" with the umlaut in the name "Saix"
has been replaced with a regular "i". Characters such as those do not appear
clearly on a web browser. If anyone knows any methods to getting those
characters to appear clearly in a published Gamefaqs guide, it would be greatly
appreciated. As an FAQ writer, I strive to make things as accurate as possible.

[-Sora's Side (SRS)-]

[Traverse Town]

Sora would require great power to rescue the individuals King Mickey mentioned
in his letter and wake them from their sleep, so he agreed to take the Mark
of Mastery examination.

He and Riku returned to the Destiny Islands shortly before their fall to
darkness. After their raft was wrecked by a phantom Ursula, they unknowingly
unlocked the first "Sleeping Keyhole."

***

Sora was separated from Riku and wound up in his first "Sleeping World,"
Traverse Town, where he met a boy named Neku.

While helping Neku look for his "Game" partner, Sora was confronted by a figure
in a black coat. Before he could find out who the stranger was, however, he was
seized by the overwhelming urge to sleep.

When Sora opened his eyes, neither Neku nor the figure in the black coat were
anywhere to be seen.

Instead of Neku, he found a girl named Rhyme. Rhyme had lost her memory, but
Sora suspected she might be Neku's lost partner. Together, they continued the
search for Neku.

No sooner had Neku explained that Rhyme wasn't his partner than the girl
vanished. Then, the figure in the black coat appeared just long enough to
summon a powerful Nightmare.

Sora defeated the Nightmare, and suddenly a strange projection appeared out of
thin air. In it, Sora saw Riku. A boy named Joshua then appeared before Sora
along with Rhyme. Joshua explained that Sora was looking at another version, or
"imagining," of Traverse Town, and that there was no way for him to get there.

Neku, Shiki, Beat, and Rhyme vanished into the projection. This dual Traverse
Town, Joshua explained, had appeared because it was needed; Neku and his
friends were about to be wiped from existence, but in this world, the pieces of
their dreams and the connections they formed had kept them in the Game---
literally. "Who are you?" Sora and Riku asked Joshua.

"Let's say...a friend," was all the mysterious boy would say before flying off
into the night sky.

[La Cite des Cloches]

While investigating an outbreak of "monsters" in the square, Sora met
Quasimodo. Nightmares had Quasimodo surrounded, but he was enjoying being the
King of Fools and was reluctant to leave. A gypsy named Esmeralda helped him
get to safety in the cathedral.

Inside Notre Dame, Quasimodo returned the favor and helped Esmeralda escape the
soldiers surrounding the cathedral by carrying her safely to the streets below.
Sora learned that Judge Frollo had forbidden Quasimodo from ever leaving the
cathedral, and grew concerned. He decided to seek out Quasimodo and talk to him
about his predicament.

While searching for Quasimodo, Sora ran into Captain Phoebus. Phoebus was
beginning to harbor doubts about Frollo's methods, and had come to warn
Esmeralda and the other gypsies that they were in danger. Upon hearing this,
Quasimodo produced a pendant he had received from Esmeralda. The pendant would
reveal the location of the gypsies' safe haven, known as the "Court of
Miracles."

They found Esmeralda in the Court of Miracles, but Judge Frollo appeared,
arrested Esmeralda, and knocked Sora out cold.

Sora awoke to find the city ablaze. Esmeralda had been sentenced to burn, but
Quasimodo rescued her while Sora confronted a giant Nightmare.

By the time the Nightmare fell, Quasimodo had already settled matters with
Judge Frollo. He had learned not to let his heart be a prison, and was ready to
brave the outside world.

Alone, Sora found himself face-to-face with a grey-haired youth. The young man
stayed only long enough to say: "You are the one who has made your heart a
prison...even if you are not the prisoner." Confused by these words, Sora
unlocked the next Sleeping Keyhole.

[Prankster's Paradise]

Sora bumped into Jiminy at an amusement park after dark. Jiminy said Pinocchio
had gone missing somewhere in the park, and boys who played and goofed off
there for too long got turned into donkeys. Sora agreed to help Jiminy find
Pinocchio before that could happen.

But by the time they rescued Pinocchio from some Nightmares, he had sprouted
donkey ears and a tail. Jiminy and Pinocchio escaped while Sora faced off
against more Nightmares.

After eliminating the threat, Sora came face-to-face with the grey-haired youth
and Xemnas, who accused Sora of being the same as the Nobodies. Once again,
they vanished without further explanation.

The Blue Fairy found Sora and told him that Pinocchio and Jiminy had gone to
the bottom of the sea to rescue Geppetto, who had been swallowed by Monstro the
whale.

Sora got there just in time to witness Pinocchio and Jiminy getting gobbled up
too. Then a giant Nightmare appeared and froze Monstro solid.

Sora defeated the Nightmare, and having been freed of the ice, Monstro let out
a mighty sneeze.

Remembering that this world would soon be swallowed by darkness, Sora unlocked
the Sleeping Keyhole.

[The Grid]

Sora was excited to be back in a familiar world, but that excitement was cut
short when the Black Guards tried to arrest him. Sora escaped but was ambushed
by Rinzler, who mysteriously vanished without a fight.

Flynn, Sam, and Quorra watched all this unfold; intrigued, Quorra approached
Sora. As it turned out, Rinzler was really Sora's friend Tron, whose memory had
been manipulated. Sora wanted to set Tron's memory straight, so Quorra agreed
to take him to CLU, who might still possess Tron's original source code.

While searching for the source code on the Throneship, Sora and Quorra were
attacked by Rinzler. Quorra was overwhelmed, but before Sora could intervene,
the Throneship hatch closed and she was left behind.

The grey-haired youth appeared along with Xemnas, who posed a difficult
question: how could Sora be sure his memories and feelings were his to begin
with? Then the grey-haired youth implied that this "dream world" was not a
dream at all... Both vanished after saying their piece.

Sora was taken to the stadium, where he came face-to-face with CLU and Rinzler.
CLU offered to restore Tron's memory in exchange for the Keyblade, but Sora had
to refuse, leading to a battle with Rinzler. Sora did not want to fight his
friend, but when Quorra arrived, safe and sound, and told him to use the
Keyblade, he realized he might still be able to bring Tron to his senses.

With Rinzler's defeat, Sora became distracted. Seeing his chance, CLU hurled
his disc---but Rinzler pushed Sora out of harm's way right in the nick of time.
The disc caused Rinzler's footing to derez, and while he tried to grab for
Sora's hand, he plunged into the abyss.

Realizing some part of his friend inside Rinzler had reached for his hand, Sora
struck upon the answer to Xemnas's question. We know we are real because our
hearts lead us back to the truth. He unlocked the Sleeping Keyhole.

[Traverse Town (Revisited)]

Back in Traverse Town, Sora bumped into a familiar face. Joshua told him that
Neku had found his partner, but they still hadn't made it back to their own
world. To get there, they would need help completing a mission. Sora raced to
the rescue.

He found Neku and Shiki surrounded by Nightmares, and convinced them to let him
help. But it was no use; once defeated, the Nightmares' leader simply escaped
to the other version of Traverse Town.

Joshua returned and suggested they work with Riku and their friends in the
other Traverse Town to trap the Nightmare and take it down.

Sora and his friends were ready when the Nightmare resurfaced in their side of
the town, but this time it escaped to another world entirely---somewhere not
even Joshua could reach. Discouraged, Neku and Shiki realized they had failed
the mission, but Sora cheered them up by offering to take over where they had
left off.

After they all pledged to meet again one day, Sora unlocked the Sleeping
Keyhole.

***

Meanwhile, in another world... Axel was dreaming of his best friend, Roxas, and
a promise he had made.

"Lea" woke up and looked at himself in the mirror. He was a real person again!
There were only four others there in the Radiant Garden study: Dilan, Aeleus,
Even, and Ienzo. Lea wondered what had become of Braig and Isa.

But a thorough search of the castle environs turned up no other returnees.
Aeleus assured him no one was outside the castle, and Ienzo rejected the idea
of the missing members having reappeared in other worlds. Dilan and Even
remained in unstable condition. Lea realized what he would have to do.

***

Elsewhere, King Mickey and friends could not help but wonder how Sora and Riku
were doing with their exam. Just then, a raven flew into the tower. It was
carrying Queen Minnie's tiara and a letter: a message from Maleficent. She had
kidnapped Minnie, and if Mickey ever wanted to see her again, he, Donald, and
Goofy would have to return to Disney Castle.

King Mickey and the others found themselves face-to-face with Maleficent and
Pete, who had Minnie. Maleficent demanded the "data" for all worlds.

Unable to strike, King Mickey braced himself for the end. But before
Maleficent's magic could hit, a blazing chakram knocked it out of the air. In
the commotion, Minnie used some magic of her own to free herself from Pete.
Having lost the upper hand, Maleficent and Pete made a hasty retreat.

King Mickey turned to thank "Axel," but the chakram's red-haired owner
corrected him. "My name is Lea," he said. "Got it memorized?"

[Country of the Musketeers]

Much to his surprise, Sora found himself making the acquaintance of Mickey back
when he was still in training. In this world, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy were
still getting the hang of being "Royal Musketeers."

Their current mission was to keep the princess's carriage safe. Sora offered to
help, but along the way, a giant Nightmare attacked and the princess was
kidnapped by the Beagle Boys. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Sora dashed to the
rescue and saved the princess.

That night, however, Donald abandoned his post. Now that he knew their own
captain had been after the princess all along, he was just too chicken to keep
being a Musketeer, no matter what Mickey said.

But when Captain Pete showed up and nabbed Mickey, Donald had a change of
heart. He, Sora, and Goofy set off to rescue their friend, and reminded each
other of what made them true Musketeers. With Mickey rescued, it was time to go
after Pete.

Mickey and friends confronted their captain, oblivious to the trap they had
walked right into. A huge crate came plummeting down from above; Sora would
never reach them in time! But before our heroes could be squashed, the crate
mysteriously vanished. Sora knew it was Riku that had saved them.

Mickey and the others took care of the princess while Sora dealt with Pete.

With the villain out of the way, Mickey and the others were finally dubbed
real, honest-to-goodness Royal Musketeers. Together they shouted the famous
words: "All for one, and one for all!"

Knowing he would always be connected to Riku, Sora unlocked the Sleeping
Keyhole.

[Symphony of Sorcery]

Sora bumped into Mickey again, this time trapped by the darkness emanating from
a musical score. To banish the darkness, Mickey explained, he would need a
"Sound Idea." Sora jumped into the musical score to look for this mysterious
power.

During his search, Sora once again encountered the grey-haired youth. "Sleep on
and we will meet again," said the youth, before disappearing without another
word.

After obtaining a Sound Idea, Sora used it to try to conduct the music. But his
Sound Idea alone wasn't enough to dispel the darkness. Just then, he and Mickey
heard a second strain of music; the two melodies combined into a powerful
harmony that drove the darkness away. Sora jumped back into the music one last
time, determined to take out the source of the problem: the same Nightmare that
had escaped from Traverse Town.

Once the Nightmare was defeated, Mickey was freed from the darkness. He and
Sora vowed to meet again, and Sora unlocked the Sleeping Keyhole.

[The World That Never Was]

Now that Queen Minnie was safe, King Mickey and friends returned to Yen Sid's
Tower with a guest. Lea seemed to want something from Yen Sid. With Xehanort's
return drawing ever closer, the sorcerer was forced to take drastic measures,
and so he agreed to Lea's request.

King Mickey and the others were now very worried about Sora and Riku, but Yen
Sid insisted that the two were still out of Xehanort's reach. After discussing
various possibilities, the king stumbled upon the truth: having given up his
body, Xehanort was taking advantage of the period of time when a version of him
had possessed Riku. He had been manipulating events all along. The king set off
to rescue Sora and Riku.

***

After unlocking the seven Sleeping Keyholes, Sora found himself in the same
world where Organization XIII had once held its stronghold. None of it made any
sense...

Xigbar appeared and revealed that Sora had been lured here, before plunging him
into a deep sleep.

***

The grey-haired youth explained that it had all begun when he was approached by
a man in a brown robe: Ansem. Later, when the Destiny Islands were about to be
swallowed by darkness, that same Ansem possessed Riku.

Traverse Town: Sora had been here many times before. He saw King Mickey and the
others run by; when Sora chased after them, he found Namine around the
corner---except it was not Namine at all, but some other girl in a black coat.
Tears formed on Sora's cheeks for reasons he could not understand. Before he
could reach the girl, his vision blurred.

He spotted someone in a black coat and called out to the figure, but this time
it turned out to be Roxas. Roxas took Sora's hand, and all the hurt he had
suffered lanced through Sora's memory.

Next Sora saw Riku and Kairi---except they weren't Riku and Kairi; they were
two strangers. They seemed kind, but called him "Ven." Sora no longer looked
like himself. He reached out to take the strangers' hands---but now they were
Riku and Kairi again, and they were leaving him behind. He tried to catch them,
but his legs were heavy; he could barely move.

After a blinding flash, Sora found himself in his own past, when he was still
little. Then the vision swooped away, as though he were being dragged out of
it.

***

Had those all been illusions? They were dreams, explained Xigbar. He and Xemnas
went on to reveal other surprises: that Nobodies could have hearts after all,
and that the Organization had been established for a greater purpose. Though
shaken, Sora put his faith in the Keyblade and stood strong.

The grey-haired youth pointed to the sigil on Sora's chest, which had allowed
them to keep tabs on him. Sora, he explained, was destined to be the thirteenth
"vessel" they needed.

Sora called Riku's name as he sank into the dark abyss.

A single ray of light chased him down, down, down... Right before the darkness
enveloped him completely, an aura of light appeared and clad him in armor. Thus
protected, his body reclined in the darkness's embrace.

[-Riku's Side (RKS)-]

[Traverse Town]

Having welcomed darkness into his heart, was he still worthy of the Keyblade?
Riku decided to take the Mark of Mastery examination and find out.

He and Sora returned to the Destiny Islands shortly before their fall to
darkness. After their raft was wrecked by a phantom Ursula, they unknowingly
unlocked the first "Sleeping Keyhole."

***

Separated from Sora, Riku found himself in his first "Sleeping World," Traverse
Town, where he met Joshua. The boy's tone suggested he knew more about this
world than most.

Riku agreed to help Joshua find a girl named Rhyme, but another boy, Beat, came
along and picked a fight with Joshua. No sooner had Riku defeated Beat's
Spirits than he found himself growing very sleepy.

After waking up, he rescued a girl named Shiki from a pack of Nightmares and
found himself stuck with her. Next, he encountered a figure in a black coat,
who insinuated that Riku did not belong there... Beat arrived, and the stranger
lowered his hood to reveal a grey-haired youth Riku had never seen before. The
youth summoned a giant Nightmare, and vanished.

Riku vanquished the Nightmare, and suddenly a strange projection appeared out
of thin air. In it, Riku saw Sora.

Riku crossed paths with Esmeralda, a gypsy who was being chased by Judge Frollo
and Captain Phoebus. She told Riku about the darkness that was driving Frollo.

Inside the cathedral of Notre Dame, Riku met Quasimodo. Judge Frollo was
keeping Quasimodo walled up inside the cathedral, but Riku knew that the
highest walls---for Quasimodo, and for himself---were around their hearts.

As Riku searched for Frollo, he was attacked by a giant Nightmare. Somehow he
escaped and caught up with Frollo, who seemed to be the one controlling the
Nightmares. He also found Phoebus, who was badly injured while trying to stop
the judge.

The chase continued. Riku passed Quasimodo, who had just rescued Esmeralda
Riku was reassured to see how much stronger Quasimodo's heart had grown.

Frollo's heart, however, fell to darkness. Ansem and the grey-haired youth
appeared a moment later to remind Riku of the darkness in his own heart. But
Riku knew he was strong enough to choose his own path, and with Keyblade in
hand, he drove off the giant Nightmare.

Quasimodo resolved to brave the outside world, while Riku reflected upon his
past, and the future he must shape from it. He unlocked the Sleeping Keyhole.

[Prankster's Paradise]

Inside the belly of Monstro the whale, Riku found Geppetto and Jiminy. He
agreed to help them find Pinocchio, who had gone missing again. Jiminy tagged
along.

They found Pinocchio with a figure in a black coat. Who was it this time? The
figure lowered his hood to reveal...Riku. The figure disappeared before Riku
could make sense of it all. He explained to Jiminy how he had once allowed
darkness into his heart, but Jiminy and Pinocchio reminded him that friends
like Sora would always keep him on the right path.

He had the others return to safety and headed further into Monstro, where he
found and defeated a giant Nightmare.

Something was troubling him, though. Why did this world seem to have been
thrown into the past? Could it still be trapped in some kind of dream? He
unlocked the Sleeping Keyhole.

[The Grid]

Upon arrival, Riku found himself in the spotlight---or rather, searchlights.
Realizing he may have more nemeses to deal with than just the Nightmares, he
decided to let himself be caught to find out more. In the process, he met Sam.

But they were soon separated, and Riku was forced into a Light Cycle battle. He
seized a chance to escape and reunited with Sam. Sam needed to get out of this
world, and when he mentioned a "Portal," Riku decided to go along.

They split up briefly so Sam could investigate a lead, but something went
wrong, and he returned with company: Quorra, who had malfunctioned, and his
father, Flynn. They all continued to the Portal.

On the Solar Sailer that would take them there, Flynn repaired Quorra. She was
the last of a life form called an ISO. The emergence of the ISOs had caused CLU
to seize control of the Grid, trapping Flynn inside so he could never return
home to the real world.

Suddenly the Solar Sailer's course was altered, and the group found themselves
landing on the Rectifier, CLU's warship.

When they disembarked, Rinzler was on patrol. Knowing they would not be able to
just slip by, Quorra intentionally let herself be caught so the others could
escape.

Riku and Sam saved Quorra and recovered Flynn's missing disc. After catching up
with Flynn, they all headed for the Portal.

CLU was waiting. He summoned a giant Nightmare and attacked.

As Riku finished off the Nightmare, CLU confronted Flynn: what was wrong with
creating the perfect system? But Flynn explained that true perfection was
unknowable---a fact that was lost on CLU because Flynn himself had not known at
the time of CLU's creation.

CLU seized Flynn's disc, but it was the wrong one; he had been tricked. Flynn's
disc was in Quorra's hands, and now Sam was using it to open the Portal. It was
time to say good-bye to his father for good. He raised the disc aloft, and he
and Quorra vanished into the light just as Flynn and CLU fused and ceased to
exist.

Riku reflected on the Portal and the gates he himself had used to cross between
worlds, realizing more trials were ahead. He unlocked the Sleeping Keyhole.

[Traverse Town (Revisited)]

Joshua was waiting when Riku arrived back in Traverse Town. He asked for help
defeating a powerful Nightmare capable of summoning other Nightmares. Riku
learned that the two Traverse Towns connected by the Portal were not parallel
worlds, but rather two distinct worlds that only felt the same. In other words,
Riku was in a dream.

He met up with Beat and Rhyme and let them defend the area while he raced after
the powerful Nightmare. But no sooner had he caught it than it escaped to the
other Traverse Town.

Beat and Rhyme were frustrated, but Riku assured them Sora would be able to
handle things on the other side. They pledged to meet again one day, and Riku
unlocked the Sleeping Keyhole.

Riku spotted Pete going into a building and decided to tail him. Inside, Pete
and the Beagle Boys were (predictably) up to no good. Sensing Mickey, Donald,
and Goofy were in danger, Riku stayed on the villains' tails.

He rescued Princess Minnie, who had been locked inside a large box. She
confirmed that Pete was leading Mickey and friends into a trap. Only a special
gadget could save them, and right now it was in the Beagle Boys' clutches.

Riku got the gadget back all the same. When Minnie thanked him, she likened him
to a "Musketeer" and taught Riku the Musketeers' motto: "All for one, and one
for all!"

Riku rolled his eyes at first, but then realized the words spoke volumes for he
and Sora's friendship. Remembering their connection, he unlocked the Sleeping
Keyhole.

[Symphony of Sorcery]

Riku found his friend Mickey trapped by the darkness emanating from a musical
score. To banish the darkness, Mickey explained, he would need a "Sound Idea."
Riku agreed to search for this mysterious power and jumped into the musical
score.

During his search, Riku was confronted by the grey-haired youth, who issued a
warning: "Your abyss awaits." Then the stranger disappeared into the shadows.

After obtaining a Sound Idea, Riku used it to try to conduct the music. But his
Sound Idea alone wasn't enough to dispel the darkness. Just then, they heard a
second strain of music; the two melodies combined into a powerful harmony that
drove the darkness away. At last, Mickey was free. Riku knew it was Sora who
had made up the difference.

Riku promised Mickey they would meet again, and unlocked the Sleeping Keyhole.

***

After unlocking the seven Sleeping Keyholes, Riku found himself in the same
world where Organization XIII had once held its stronghold.

Riku found a spectral version of Sora trapped inside some sort of bubble. He
tried to wake his friend, but a personification of Sora's nightmares, a figure
in a black coat, approached from behind.

He defeated the Nightmare and kept calling to Sora, but it was Ansem who
responded and dragged Riku into the darkness for a final confrontation.

Ansem explained that Riku had unknowingly dove into Sora's dreams and become a
Dream Eater, but he would be of no help to his friend so long as he kept the
darkness inside him in check. Riku agreed---but rather than give in to Ansem
and accept the darkness, Riku decided to return it to light once and for all.
He drew his Keyblade.

After Ansem was defeated, Riku awoke in the real world, but his Dream Eater
powers remained. With the help of some Spirits, he was able to reach Sora.

Sora was seated on one of the Organization's thirteen thrones, but the grey-
haired youth knocked Riku away before he could get to his friend. The youth
revealed that Organization XIII's true purpose was to transfer the heart of
Xehanort into thirteen worthy "vessels." Now Sora was about to become the last
of those vessels.

As if to drive this point home, twelve other figures materialized and filled
the other seats. The youth revealed his identity: he was Xehanort's boyhood
form. Just as he was gesturing to the highest seat of them all, King Mickey
appeared and stopped time. He tried to rescue Sora, but someone lashed out at
the king and knocked him away. Young Xehanort was able to move even when time
was stopped! He and Riku fought.

No sooner had Riku bested the youth than time started to flow again, and Master
Xehanort appeared in the highest seat. He told Riku and King Mickey about the
"seven guardians of light" and "thirteen seekers of darkness" who were destined
to clash and forge the X-blade. They were too late; Master Xehanort's heart was
snaking its way toward Sora, and Xemnas and Ansem were barring the way...

Just then, a blaze of fire stopped Xehanort's heart from reaching Sora. Lea had
arrived right in the nick of time! The king and Riku were so shocked that they
nearly forgot they were in danger, but Donald and Goofy arrived in a flash of
light to save the day.

Master Xehanort had failed to claim Sora, but he assured all present that the
clash between light and darkness was imminent. Then he and the other twelve
members of the real Organization XIII dematerialized and returned whence they
came.

[-Ending (END)-]

[Mysterious Tower]

King Mickey warned Yen Sid of Master Xehanort's true motives.

They needed to wake Sora up, and Yen Sid said that only one who had unlocked
the Sleeping Keyholes possessed that power. And even if that person reached the
abyss into which Sora's heart had fallen, they might never return from the
darkness. But Riku had heard Sora calling to him, and knew he must be the one
to make the dive back into Sora's slumber.

***

In the abyss, Riku was attacked by a suit of armor clad in deepest darkness. He
defeated the armor and freed Sora from its defenses, then watched helplessly as
his friend sank into the darkness. Did he do the right thing? Only Sora's
Keyblade remained. Riku took it and unlocked the Keyhole.

Riku's eyes blinked open. He was home, on their island. Figures appeared asking
difficult questions: Roxas; another boy who looked like Roxas; a girl with
raven hair. He sensed his answers mattered. When his eyes next blinked open, he
found himself in the company of Ansem the Wise.

Ansem the Wise gave Riku his research data, which he hoped would serve as a
clue when Sora or those connected to him were most lost. The love in Sora's
heart would be the only way to save them. With that, the true Ansem assured
Riku that Sora had awoken. It was time to go home.

***

Riku woke from his dive to hear what sounded like a celebration; were Sora,
Donald, and Goofy having...a party? Sora threw his arms around Riku when he saw
his friend was safe. Somehow, it all seemed very backwards.

Riku passed the exam. He had shown the Mark of Mastery, and so Yen Sid dubbed
him a true Keyblade Master. Sora was happy to see his best friend receive such
an honor. Lea, however, was still trying to get the knack of summoning his own
Keyblade.

His...what? As if that weren't enough of a shock, suddenly a Keyblade
materialized in Lea's hand. He had become a Keyblade wielder!

Sora realized he had unfinished business. He opened the Sleeping Keyhole and
ventured through alone. When he woke up in Traverse Town, he looked around
for...

There they were! A moment later, Sora was surrounded by rowdy, but very happy
Spirits. With a smile, Sora thanked them for all they had done.

[-II. Glossary (GSY)-]
[--------------------]

[Keyblades]

A key-shaped weapon forged by man during the age of fairy tales. Any other
origins have yet to be revealed.

All Keyblades have one of three natures: light, darkness, or heart. These last
two are exceptional; most documented Keyblades, including Sora's and Riku's,
are Keyblades of light.

The heart must be proven before a Keyblade will appear in its master's hand. No
lock can withstand a Keyblade, nor can any non-agent of light.

Special Keychains allow the Keyblade's appearance and performance to be
altered.

[Keyblade Masters]

Guardians of the balance between light and darkness. Through the "Bequeathing,"
they choose the next generation of Keyblade wielders, training their bodies and
tempering their hearts so that they, too, might one day be Keyblade Masters.

While the word "master" might be tossed around, only an existing Keyblade
Master can pass on the title and its associated powers. They often elect to
test candidates for the Mark of Mastery.

Among the Keyblade Masters is one true "Successor" who is tasked with
protecting a hallowed ground known as the Land of Departure.

[Master Xehanort]

Arguably the most powerful Keyblade Master in history, and a staunch advocate
for a world where light and darkness are equal. In his thirst for knowledge, he
allowed his heart to succumb to darkness.

While attempting to reproduce the Keyblade War, he was thwarted by three young
Keyblade wielders, and his body was seemingly destroyed.

However, Keyblade Masters have the power to remove hearts and transfer them to
other "vessels." Master Xehanort has leveraged this power of recombination and
clashed with Sora under a number of identities.

[The Keyblade War]

An ancient and epic war that lives on in fairy tales. It erupted over a sacred
place known as "Kingdom Hearts"---the source of all light.

Keyblade wielders from the legions of light and darkness vied to control
Kingdom Hearts, and wiped out all the World's light as a result.

Legend has it that the fragmented worlds we know today survived from the last
glimmers of light within the hearts of children.

[Heartless]

Living embodiments of the darkness within our hearts, and therefore the
darkness that has been in the world since its inception. Although they
originate in our hearts, they have no hearts of their own, hence their name.

They instinctively hunt for hearts, and survive and reproduce by stealing them.
They have no leaders or hierarchy, least of all the chaotic "Purebloods" which
arise spontaneously.

"Emblem Heartless"---those created artificially by Xehanort's "Ansem"---behave
in much the same way.

[Kingdom Hearts]

According to legend, the source of all true light is known as "Kingdom Hearts."

We know Xehanort has created two Kingdom Hearts now, both artificially, by
amassing enough hearts. One was made from the hearts of worlds, and the other
from the hearts of people.

The Kingdom Hearts made from the hearts of worlds had a door that led to the
realm of darkness; its depths were never fully charted.

The Kingdom Hearts made from the hearts of people was believed to have the
power to recomplete someone whose heart had been lost.

[Nobodies]

If a strong-hearted person loses or is robbed of that heart, their body and
spirit can live on as a Nobody.

Nobodies have no hearts, but they retain their human memories, which serve as a
reservoir from which to draw human emotion.

Unlike Heartless, Nobodies are hierarchical and choose to be subject to the
Organization's leadership.

[Organization XIII]

When the strongest of heart become "Nobodies," they retain human form even
after their heart is gone.

Ansem the Wise had six apprentices, the best of whom called himself Xehanort.
The real Ansem abandoned his studies of the heart, but Xehanort could not let
it stop there. He and the other apprentices betrayed Ansem and cast their
hearts away to continue their master's research.

Xehanort's Nobody took a new name, Xemnas, and formed an organization with
the other apprentices' Nobodies. Once their numbers grew, they became known as
"Organization XIII," though at one time they had a fourteenth member.

Organization XIII's goal was to complete Kingdom Hearts from the hearts of
people, by defeating Heartless and collecting the hearts they had captured.
Sora thwarted their plan, however, destroying the Organization's members and
setting a multitude of captive hearts free.

[Seven Princesses]

Another name for the princesses of heart: the only seven people in the world
whose hearts are pure light.

While not necessarily royalty, they are called "princesses" because they are
all female and the one who brings them together will reign over all worlds.

The nature of the princesses' power is not entirely clear, but once already
their hearts have been stolen to create an entrance to Kingdom Hearts and a
so-called "Keyblade of heart."

[Recusant's Sigil]

Xemnas, leader of Organization XIII, gave new names to all who entered its
ranks. Each name was an anagram created from the member's original name plus
the letter X.

This X is known as the Recusant's Sigil, and has manifested itself in both
obvious and insidious ways throughout Sora's adventures.

[X-blade]

If Kingdom Hearts is a lock, then this blade from the age of fairy tales was
the key.

It could be argued that without the X-blade, the Keyblade War might never have
been waged; after all, you cannot possess what you cannot find or unlock.

It is clear the blade was the inspiration for human-wrought Keyblades. The
letter X can be pronounced both "key" or "kye" (leading to some confusion) and
symbolizes the perfect crossing of light and darkness. The X-blade can be
forged via a high-dimensional clash between those two poles.

It is believed that the Recusant's Sigil also derives from X.

[Hearts Tied to Sora]

Not long after Sora was born, his heart connected with that of a boy named
Ventus. Ventus's heart had been torn apart, but Sora saved him by sharing a
part of his own.

Several years later, three young Keyblade wielders---Terra, Aqua, and Ventus---
found themselves embroiled in a battle with Master Xehanort. In their travels,
Master Aqua and Terra both met Sora and his best friend, Riku. Sora promised
Aqua to keep Riku on the right path, while Riku made a secret promise with
Terra. Not long after, Terra became a vessel for Master Xehanort, and Aqua
vanished into the realm of darkness. As for Ventus, he shattered his own heart
to protect his friends and returned to Sora's heart, where he sleeps to this
day.

Years later, after Sora got older, he unknowingly hid his friend Kairi's heart
inside his own to protect it. When Sora became a Heartless, he also
inadvertently gave form to Kairi's Nobody, Namine, while creating his own
Nobody, Roxas.

Another being was also created: a replica named Xion. Xion was formed from
Sora's memories of Kairi, and she had the power to copy Roxas.

Ultimately, Xion and Namine realized their place and guided the pieces back
where they belonged; Namine returned to Kairi's heart, and Xion and Roxas
returned to Sora's.

Many hearts have touched Sora's, and those connections remain---but their
stories ended in sadness, a sadness in which they still sleep.

[Secret Message]

The past will be reawakened as a new number in never-before-seen detail

Prepare yourself for the awakening of the next number

[-----------------------]
[-V. Dream Eaters (DET)-]
[-----------------------]

Key

S = Spirit
N = Nightmare
RN = Rare Nightmare

[Meow Wow]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

Cat or dog? Boy or girl? Friend or fiend? One thing's for sure: this Dream
Eater is adorable. Warning: fire freaks it out.

[Tama Sheep]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

This roly-poly Dream Eater loves to sleep, and so will opponents it gets its
lamb chops on. At least its defenses are, uh, "mutton" to worry about...

[Yoggy Ram]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

What do rams do? They ram you. Real talk: nobody rams like a ram does. Better
wait for an opening!

[Komory Bat]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

These noctilionine nuisances boast quite the repertoire. Supersonic confusion
waves? Yep. Vampiric drain attack? Just vunderful...

[Pricklemane]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

These bouncy pincushions take "stick and move" to a whole new level. Look out
when they turn red with rage!

[Hebby Repp]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Hyperactive and a real handful, these reptiles rock it hard when they roll.
Dodge their attacks and then counter!

[Sir Kyroo]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Count on these little guys to stand by your side. They've got the swords and
sorcery down, but a dose of fire will melt their courage.

[Toximander]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

These easygoing Dream Eaters still know how to play hardball. While you're
snoozin', it's poison and confusion they're oozin'. Approach with caution!

[Fin Fatale]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Who ordered fish with lasers? Before you get blasted, bring the thunder, and
you might just shock their gills off.

[Tatsu Steed]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

These bubble-blowers are deadeyes at long range and punching bags up close. Now
where would you rather be?

[Necho Cat]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

This feline knows it's better than you. It doesn't walk; it "dances." It
doesn't use magic; it "hits you with magical awesome." Close the distance and
put this cat on the mat.

[Thunderaffe]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

You know how fast lightning is? Well, these Dream Eaters don't...because they
leave it in the dust every time. They move in straight lines, though, so just
make sure you stay out of their way.

[Kooma Panda]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

The bigger they are, the harder they claw... It'll take more than a few punches
to the paunch to make this lumbering panda see stars.

[Pegaslick]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

While this winged, gale-force menace is trying to tether the weather, you
should be taking it down before it's too late.

[Iceguin Ace]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

These chill customers will slip in for the attack and slide out to hit
opponents with a blast of cold. To them, fire is most dire.

[Peepsta Hoo]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

This wise guy uses Scan to find weaknesses and attacks accordingly. But
completing the Scan takes time... Isn't that a weakness, too?

[Escarglow]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Homebodies who like to hide in invincible shells. Only problem: too many
attacks will cause the shell to pop right off, leading to blushing and
potential bruises.

[KO Kabuto]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

With a cannon for a horn and an ironclad frontal defense, this sharpshooting
beetle battler will be tough to dent unless you can get behind it.

[Wheeflower]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

These Dream Eaters stick by their friends, dishing out flower power to keep
their HP in the green.

[Ghostabocky]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

A wight that can blink out of sight and fight with sprite-height frights is
tight...but smite it with light and it's nighty-nite, aight?

[Zolephant]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

Throw this titan into a tizzy and you had better take cover! But once the
tantrum tapers off, it's wide open.

[Juggle Pup]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

Their poker faces are hard to read, and every attack is a gamble, but on a good
day these Dream Eaters will "seal" the deal.

[Halbird]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

Hit-and-run air strikers that pester their prey. While their tactics are sound,
why do they stop to gloat every time they land a hit?

[Staggerceps]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

This distance fighter has a chest-mounted cannon and ammo that can lock down
movement and commands.

[Fishbone]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

When this fish falls apart, it's only just getting started. It can disassemble
itself to dodge and launch lasers from afar.

[Flowbermeow]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

It's fast...it's floral...and unlike Meow Wow, fire won't faze it! Only
problem: along with being part dog and cat, this one seems to be part chicken.
Beat it and luck might favor you!

[Cyber Yog]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Here's a hircine hazard that shoots lasers from its horns. Once the blast-a-
thon subsides, though, it's open season.

[Chef Kyroo]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Frogs' legs are definitely not on this foodmeister's menu. He's skilled with a
skillet and ready to serve up all kinds of surprises.

[Lord Kyroo]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Master of the sword and sorcerer with the most, this brave little smartypants
makes for a staunch companion...unless he catches fire.

[Tatsu Blaze]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Prepare for burnination and other horrible punishments at the hands of this
fireball-spouting multitalent.

[Electricorn]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Do electric unicorns dream of androids? More importantly, can you stop this
thunderslinger before it's done gathering juice?

[Woeflower]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

This Dream Eater is a total downer, inflicting negative status effects left and
right and getting pouty when companions leave it behind.

[Jestabocky]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

When this spoofy spook isn't pretending to be prizes, it's trying to nab the
real ones...and there's your opportunity to strike.

[Eaglider]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A total natural in the sky, this super-sniper has the very unfortunate habit of
gloating when it lands a shot.

[Me Me Bunny]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

This cutie may play the darling, but watch out: it knows "bun fu." Back away
and pick these fluffy pests off from a distance.

[Drill Sye]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

Once upon a time, there was a powerful rhino that could transform into a ball
of spikes but hated magic... Well, you probably know where this is going.

[Tyranto Rex]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

The second-or-possibly-first most vicious Dream Eater out there. Put it on ice
before it puts you in a tough spot.

[Majik Lapin]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Whoever pulled this rabbit out of a hat taught it a few spells of its own. Fun
fact: its left ear and right ear each fire off their own magic!

[Cera Terror]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

This Dream Eater has two modes, high defense, and a mastery of melee. But magic
is enough to mire it, and it's prone to negative status effects.

[Skelterwild]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

This skelly's head and body are like two pesky Dream Eaters in one, but fire
will send it back to the grave.

[Ducky Goose]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

After a few rounds of Duck Duck Goose with this cracker-packing loon, just
about anyone would want to shove him into his own jack-in-the-box.

[Aura Lion]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

Self-styled king of the dream jungle---and he does look pretty regal when he's
firing off that aura. But bow not to this king; it's your turn to dodge and
deliver.

[Ryu Dragon]

(S/N/RN)

Enemies Defeated: -

Land and air are two separate playgrounds for this mythical monstrosity. But
even a big, smart, fast contender like this can be put on ice (literally).

[Drak Quack]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

This quack likes to toy around, dancing maddeningly out of reach and blasting
you with fireworks. Close the distance and shut this clown down.

[Keeba Tiger]

(S/N)

Enemies Defeated: -

What's there to say about this aura-wielding speed demon? It doesn't fire its
aura that often, so look for your chance and take it!

[Meowjesty]

(S)

The crown says it all. Get this Meow Wow mammoth bouncing, and you've got
yourself a battlefield full of royal pancakes.

[Sudo Neku]

(S)

A Hebby Repp with stylin' threads and a serious 'tude. Whatever's piped through
those phones has turned its "inner emo" into "outer aggro."

[Frootz Cat]

(S)

Punishably pink and sinister levels of sweet, this Necho Cat snipes opponents
with magic and heals buddies with fancy footwork.

[Ursa Circus]

(S)

This big-top buffoon version of Kooma Panda might seem tame, but let your guard
down and you'll be the one jumping through hoops.

[Kab Kannon]

(S)

Who wouldn't want a KO Kabuto with a fiercer horn, adaptive ammo switching, and
rock-hard defense? Its enemies, that's who.

[R & R Seal]

(S)

When this siesta-loving Juggle Pup rolls the dice, it might pay off big, or it
might just backfire. Hope it bought traveler's insurance...

[Spellican]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A magically malicious opponent that summons crystal puppet-brooms and monstrous
meteors to make life generally less pleasant.

[Commantis]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A persistent customer that attacks by firing discs and light ribbons. You can
wear it down, but it will get right back up as soon as it's done recharging.

[Char Clawbster]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A fire-slinging, tail-spinning speed demon that will cling to the ceiling one
moment and dance circles around you the next.

[Chill Clawbster]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A feisty fighter that's packing pincers, lasers, bombs, and all kinds of
nastiness. Watch out when it overheats; that's when it pulls out the real heavy
artillery.

[Hockomonkey]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A wild opponent with two personalities and three types of arms.

The "Brute" switches between beefy bruisers and sproingy jack-in-the-boxers,
while the "Mage" summons magic hands that float around, blasting magic and
bashing heroes.

[Holey Moley]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A hit-and-run menace that pokes out of the ceiling and walls, flinging stray
objects your way or taking swipes with its claws.

[Wargoyle]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Float like a butterfly, sting like a gargoyle. This fiend can do serious damage
from a distance, or swoop in for a one-two wallop with its twin hammers.

[Brawlamari]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A six-armed arsenal with twin sword-acles, four laser-cles, and a million ways
to use 'em.

[Queen Buzzerfly]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

Queen (as it turns out!) of the Buzzerflies. They fight as a swarm; she pummels
with stingers and pollen while her drones take a more direct approach.

[Anti Black Coat]

(N)

Enemies Defeated: -

A mysterious menace clad in a black coat. He can teleport and attack from all
ranges to get the drop on you. Don't be too tenacious; just look for an opening
and strike when you can.

[Birth by Sleep]

Master Xehanort had decided to abandon his pupil Ventus on the Destiny Islands.
The boy's heart was fractured---useless. But his heart was saved when a "new
heart" found Ventus and helped him fill the void.

Several years passed, and Ventus forgot what had happened. He had found a new
home in the Land of Departure, a sacred ground defended by a long line of
Keyblade Masters. There, he met two other youths named Aqua and Terra, and
together they trained with Master Eraqus to become Keyblade Masters.

Both Aqua and Terra should have been named Keyblade Masters, but Master
Xehanort intervened, convincing Eraqus to test his pupils with a "Mark of
Mastery" examination. While Aqua passed the test, Terra did not, creating a
rift between him and his friends.

Shortly after came tidings of "Unversed"---strange creatures that thrived on
negativity---and Master Xehanort had broken off all communication. Terra left
to solve both mysteries; Ventus ran away to be with his friend. As for Aqua,
Eraqus tasked her with keeping Terra under surveillance and bringing Ventus
home as soon as possible.

Thus their journeys began.

During Terra's travels, Master Xehanort whittled away at the young man's
ethics, convincing him that darkness and light were equally important, and that
a balance must be kept. Elsewhere, Ventus met Mickey, another trainee, and
found himself crossing Keyblades with a mysterious masked boy named Vanitas.

The three friends were reunited in Radiant Garden, but too much had changed.
Terra felt betrayed by Eraqus and Aqua, and retreated deeper into Xehanort's
clutches; Ventus sided with Terra and ran off again; and Aqua was left to deal
with a mixture of guilt, concern, and love.

Guided by fate, perhaps, Terra arrived at the Destiny Islands and met Riku. He
decided to bequeath the power of the Keyblade to this little boy, who reminded
him so much of himself.

Some time after, Aqua visited these same islands and discovered what Terra had
done. She, too, found a kindred spirit in Riku's friend Sora, and told the boy
to stick by his friend and guide him even through the darkest of times.

Ventus had made a discovery of his own. While rescuing Mickey, he was
confronted by Master Xehanort, and learned of his connection to a weapon called
the "X-blade."

Ventus returned to Master Eraqus in search of answers about his past. But the
truth was a disaster waiting to happen, and Master Eraqus had no choice but to
lock his pupil's heart away to keep that disaster contained. Terra arrived just
in the nick of time and battled his master to protect his friend. But this was
exactly what Master Xehanort had hoped for; Terra watched in horror as his new
"mentor" struck the weakened Eraqus down. He had been fooled.

Terra tried to move Ventus someplace safe---the Destiny Islands. But Vanitas,
the boy with the mask, was already there. "Join with me; become the X-blade,"
he said. And then Ventus remembered the truth: Vanitas was a part of him---the
darkness which had been extracted from his heart.

Led by destiny, Terra, Ventus, and Aqua assembled in the Keyblade Graveyard.

In the distance, Master Xehanort and Vanitas appeared. A violent clash ensued,
and at the end of it, Terra's body was possessed by Xehanort. Meanwhile Ventus,
having been forced into a clash with his counterpart Vanitas, chose the
destruction of them both to prevent the X-blade from being forged.

In the aftermath, Mickey was able to rescue Aqua and Ventus, but Ventus would
not wake, and Terra was nowhere to be found. Aqua's journey was not over.

Aqua recalled her master's teachings. After finding a safe place for Ventus to
rest, she locked the Land of Departure---which would eventually come to be
known as "Castle Oblivion."

Ventus's heart had been nearly snuffed out, so he retreated to the safety of
Sora's heart---the same "new heart" that had saved him once before.

Aqua found and confronted Xehanort, who had possessed Terra's body. After a
long fight, Aqua dove into the darkness and sacrificed herself to usher Terra
back to the realm of light.

Aqua wandered the realm of darkness for a decade before meeting a stranger
there. This stranger told her about a certain boy who had become the savior of
all worlds. When Aqua heard the boy's name, tears filled her eyes, and her face
beamed with hope.

[Kingdom Hearts]

Sora, Riku, and Kairi had always dreamed of the outside world. On a beach in
the Destiny Islands, the three friends began building a raft.

One day, a stranger in a brown robe confronted Sora and told him, "This world
has been connected." That night, the islands were hit by a storm and engulfed
by darkness. Sora found himself in possession of a mysterious key-shaped sword
called a "Keyblade," and was separated from Riku and Kairi.

Other worlds had met the same fate, and more would.

Meanwhile, the king of Disney Castle had gone missing. His closest subjects,
Donald and Goofy, set off to find someone with a "key," just as their liege's
farewell letter had instructed.

Sora had awoken in a place called Traverse Town, and it was there he learned
what was expected of a Keyblade wielder. He joined forces with Donald and
Goofy, and the trio continued their search for Riku, Kairi, and King Mickey.

Each world they visited had revealed a "Keyhole" which led to the heart of
each world, and creatures called "Heartless"---manifestations of the darkness
within us---were trying to get at it. With Keyblade in hand, Sora took down the
Heartless and locked the Keyholes.

Manipulating the Heartless were Maleficent and her league of villains.
Maleficent had tricked Riku into helping her gather the pure hearts of seven
princesses who would grant her dominion over all worlds.

By the time Sora caught up with Riku in Hollow Bastion, his friend had
succumbed to darkness. But a good thrashing only made things worse; the
defeated Riku was possessed by Ansem, Seeker of Darkness.

Sora defeated Maleficent and found himself face-to-face with this greater
threat. Ansem was trying to complete the Keyhole to a doorway that led to the
heart of all worlds: "Kingdom Hearts."

After discovering Kairi's heart was inside him, Sora tried to release her and
turned into a Heartless, but the light in Kairi's heart changed him back.

Sora knew he had to close the final Keyhole. As a parting gift, Kairi gave him
a good luck charm made of thalassa shells to ensure a safe voyage. Sora
promised he would return it someday, then set off.

He followed Ansem all the way to the heart of the darkness that had swallowed
the worlds, and defeated him. But Kingdom Hearts had already been opened.

Sora was able to close the door again with the help of Riku and King Mickey,
who stayed trapped in the realm of darkness on the other side. Sora decided not
to return to his home world, and began a new journey with Donald and Goofy to
find Riku and the king.

[Chain of Memories]

Sora, Donald, and Goofy had been searching for Riku and King Mickey for some
time before Sora came face-to-face with a man in a black coat who guided them
to a place called "Castle Oblivion." There, the man gave them a card which he
said was constructed from Sora's memories.

Sora and friends began exploring the worlds within this and other cards like
it.

Marluxia, the man in the black coat and a member of the "Organization," was
using the powers of a girl named Namine to manipulate Sora's memory and take
control of Sora's Keyblade.

Serving the Organization were "Nobodies," a special type of being created when
a person's heart was stolen and only their body and spirit remained.

As Sora made his way through the castle, his memories of Kairi were replaced
with those of Namine. He had to fight Riku, who appeared in his dark form and
claimed Namine was his to protect. Sora won out, and Riku vanished.

One by one, Sora defeated the Organization members who stood in his path. One
of them, Axel, proved more slippery than the others and seemed to be neither
friend nor foe. Sora also learned that the Riku he had fought was just a
replica manufactured by the Organization.

With this Riku replica's help, Sora was able to strike Marluxia down.

Namine confessed to Sora what she had done, but he did not hold it against her.

She offered him a choice: he could either put his scattered memories back the
way they were and lose all memory of this castle, or keep his memories the way
they were now. Sora chose to get his old memories back by going into a deep
sleep until they could be repaired. But first, he promised Namine she would not
be forgotten and that they would meet again.

Meanwhile, Riku had found his way out of the realm between light and darkness.
Led by a mysterious voice, he made his way to Castle Oblivion, but the voice
turned out to be Ansem's. Riku made his way through the castle, battling Ansem
and the darkness within him at every step.

The Organization had also noticed the darkness in Riku's heart, and sought to
use it for their own ends. While facing Lexaeus, one of the Organization's
members, Riku was forced to summon the darkness within him, and succumbed to
it. But somewhere far away, he heard King Mickey call out to him. Knowing King
Mickey was watching over him gave Riku the strength to press on through
the castle.

With the power of darkness proving too great a temptation, Riku again seemed
ready to be overtaken by Ansem. But this time, King Mickey came to his rescue
in person. The king gave him a special card; inside the card-world, he
discovered that the Ansem he had been fighting was actually a man named DiZ.
The man told Riku to find Namine, and disappeared.

Before Riku could reach Namine, he was confronted by the Riku replica. The real
Riku won out, and the replica seemingly vanished.

Namine offered to lock away Riku's memory of Ansem, but Riku knew he had to
face the darkness in his heart himself. He prevailed over Ansem, and departed
Castle Oblivion with Mickey by his side.

From then on, he resolved to shoulder both light and darkness, and walk the
road to dawn.

[358/2 Days]

When Roxas first became part of the "Organization," he spent his days on
missions collecting hearts and befriending another member named Axel. However,
when Axel was sent to "Castle Oblivion" on a special mission, Roxas teamed up
with the Organization's new, fourteenth member: a girl named Xion. Slowly, the
two warmed to each other.

Once Axel returned from his mission, he, Roxas, and Xion developed a routine of
ending each busy day by having ice cream atop the Twilight Town clock tower.
There, they talked about work, friendship, their memories, and the meaning of
a heart.

One day, Xion was ordered to dispatch an imposter---Riku, who had donned the
Organization's robes to protect Sora. But Xion was overpowered and told her
Keyblade was a "sham." After failing a second mission, she slipped into a coma.

When Xion finally awoke, Roxas's daily routine resumed a kind of normalcy---but
something in his friend had changed. Slowly, Xion began to question her own
existence.

On Day 255, Xion visited Castle Oblivion and discovered "what" she was. Roxas
waited for Xion at the clock tower, but she never came. The next day, he
learned she had deserted the Organization.

Roxas tracked her down and tried to convince her to return, but Xion drew her
Keyblade threateningly. It was only once Axel appeared that he and Roxas were
able to bring her back by force.

After learning some of the truth about Xion, Roxas found his own existence
thrown into question. He lost faith in Axel and the Organization, who had kept
so much hidden from him, and decided to run away.

Meanwhile, Xion had tracked down a girl named Namine, and decided to return her
share of Sora's memories to their owner. Axel hunted her down and made a
double-edged promise: "Keep running---I'll always be there to bring you back."
After barely managing to keep that promise, Axel collapsed, and Xemnas, the
Organization's leader, took Xion away.

Aimlessly, Roxas found himself wandering toward the clock tower. There, Xion
revealed herself to be not a "her" at all, but a faceless puppet that the
Organization had created as a cage for Sora's memories. The last of those
memories were inside Roxas---Sora's Nobody---and she would have to take them
from him to become a complete Sora replica.

The two fought, and Xion got her wish: she was defeated. As the memories that
made her up returned to Sora, she ceased to exist, and vanished from the minds
of all who knew her.

Confused and angry, Roxas decided to challenge Xemnas and the Organization,
free the hearts they had collected, and destroy "Kingdom Hearts." But Roxas was
not strong enough to win, and if he fell here, Sora would never awaken, so Riku
confronted him.

In his mind, Riku heard the last wish of a girl whose name he could no longer
remember: to stop Roxas. He nearly failed, and had to allow the darkness in his
heart to take over before he was able to subdue Roxas.

A boy named "Roxas" woke up in his room in Twilight Town after having another
strange dream.

Excited, he ran off to meet his friends at their usual spot. Only seven days of
summer vacation left...

[Kingdom Hearts II]

Roxas woke up in his room in Twilight Town after having another strange dream.
Only seven days left in his summer vacation, and he would be spending them with
his best friends.

But strange things began happening around him. White monsters called "Dusks"
attacked; a key-shaped sword called the "Keyblade" materialized in his hand. On
the last day of his vacation, Roxas remembered who he really was and what he
had been trying to do. He found Sora sleeping in a pod, and realized his summer
vacation would have to end.

With Roxas's demise, the last of Sora's memories returned to him, and he woke
from a year of sleep. It was a joyful reunion with Donald and Goofy, who had
stuck by him all through his slumber. Jiminy examined their journal, a record
of their last journey, but it was blank except for a single phrase: "Thank
Namine."

With King Mickey's guidance, the group found their way to the Mysterious Tower,
whose master, the sorcerer Yen Sid, alerted them to a new threat: "Nobodies,"
who served a group dressed in black coats known as "Organization XIII."

And so it was that Sora, Donald, and Goofy set off on a new journey.

In Hollow Bastion, Sora was reunited with his old friends, and learned that the
Heartless were still causing trouble. While dealing with them and the Nobodies,
Sora had his first encounter with the Organization since waking.

While chasing its members from world to world, he learned that Kairi had been
kidnapped by the Organization back in Twilight Town.

On a second visit to Hollow Bastion, Sora and friends found themselves trapped
inside a computer owned by "Ansem the Wise." They repaired the program and
returned to the real world, where they were finally reunited with King Mickey.

And boy, did he have a surprise to share! It turned out the "Ansem" Sora had
fought and defeated was not really Ansem at all.

Ansem the Wise had had an apprentice named "Xehanort" who turned into a
Heartless. This Heartless stole his master's name, "Ansem," while the Nobody
that was created in the process, "Xemnas," became the leader of the
Organization. During an epic battle with the Heartless, Sora finally got a
glimpse of this new adversary.

Sora's search for Kairi brought him back to Twilight Town. By using the
alternate version of the town where Roxas spent his summer vacation, Sora and
the others found a way into the realm of darkness.

However, along the way, they were ambushed by a horde of Dusks. Axel, one of
the Organization's members, came to the rescue and sacrificed himself to
protect Sora---who was, in a way, also his best friend Roxas.

At last, Sora had reached Organization XIII's home world, "The World That Never
Was." He infiltrated the castle, leaving defeated Organization members in his
wake, and finally found Kairi. He was also reunited with Riku, who had been
transfigured into Ansem as a result of using the darkness within him.
Thankfully, Riku's true form was restored.

They met the real Ansem the Wise, who had assumed the name "DiZ," and whose
blind quest for vengeance against the apprentices who had betrayed him had
brought ruin to Roxas and countless others. Realizing the error of his ways,
Ansem the Wise blew up the Organization's Kingdom Hearts as atonement, and was
himself engulfed in the blast.

Atop the castle, near what remained of Kingdom Hearts, Sora and the others
confronted and defeated Xemnas.

Namine opened a gateway home; symbolically, she and Roxas accepted their place</pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
with Sora and Kairi, the people they had come from.

As Sora and Riku tried to follow Kairi and the others out, the gate suddenly
closed. Xemnas had survived, and Sora and Riku were flung into a final battle.

They were able to dispatch Xemnas, but there was no escape from the realm of
darkness. At the Dark Margin, they stared out to sea, ready to give up...but
then a letter in a bottle washed up. It was from Kairi. A door to the light
appeared, leading them back to their home, the Destiny Islands, where all their
friends were waiting.

Not long after, Sora and Riku were watching the sun set when Kairi presented
them with a letter she had found. Whatever was in the letter convinced the
three of them that their journey was not over...

[Re:coded]

Jiminy was surprised to find a mysterious message in one of his journals, which
was supposed to be blank: "Their hurting will be mended when you return to end
it."

To help better understand the message, King Mickey created a "datascape" from
the worlds within the journal. But the datascape was riddled with bugs, and the
king had to rely on the digital version of Sora to debug the journal from the
inside.

While exploring the Destiny Islands datascape, a figure in a black coat
explained that uncovering the "Keyholes" was the only way to mend the worlds.
Sora found the Keyhole in Traverse Town, and used it to reach the next world.

As he did, a new message appeared in the journal back at Disney Castle...and
the king was alarmed to discover the castle had been invaded by Heartless!
Worse yet, he and the others were now trapped in the library.

Again, Sora came face-to-face with the figure in the black coat. And this time,
when he followed the stranger, he found himself in the same room as King Mickey
and the others. How had they wound up in the same place?

The figure in the black coat turned out to be a digital version of Riku, who
explained what was going on. He had been chosen by the journal as backup
storage to protect its data. Now Riku and the journal were one and the same,
and he had brought Mickey and the others into the datascape to help solve the
mysterious message.

Just then, someone took over the pathway between the datascape and the real
world. There was no way out! Sora set off to repair more worlds and secure a
way home for his friends.

It turned out Maleficent and her henchman Pete were the culprits. They were
plotting to release the darkness inside the datascape into the real world. Sora
tried to stop her, but she destroyed his Keyblade and kidnapped Riku.

The king went after Riku, and Sora went after the king. Sora's friendship with
Donald and Goofy gave him the power to recreate the Keyblade.

Pete had infected Riku with bugs and tried to pit the two friends against each
other, but after a short fight, the infected Riku collapsed. Sora dove into
Riku's datascape to save his friend, and defeated Maleficent inside.

However, it wasn't until he took out his own Heartless---the original bug which
was threatening to delete the whole datascape---that the journal was finally
restored. But because restoring the journal was tantamount to overwriting all
record of this newest journey, Data Sora and King Mickey had to say good-bye.

However, the mysterious message was still a mystery. Back in the real world,
King Mickey and the others received a message from Data Riku that "extra data"
had been found. They would need Data Sora's help one last time.

The extra data was a special world designed to make Sora learn how to cope with
hurt. When Data Sora was finally ready to accept that hurt, Namine appeared
before him.

She explained that inside him were special memories that belonged to people
connected to the real Sora---people who were hurting. The mysterious message
was her way of reaching out to him and preparing him for that truth.

King Mickey promised Namine that they would undo all the hurt. Back in the real
world, he wrote a letter to the real Sora and explained there were others out
there that only Sora could save.
