This guide is designed to throughly explain the title and key system in DQM2
to non-japanese speakers, and provide as in-depth a list as possible of the
effects of each keyword on map generation. My information comes from a
combination of my own save file, as well as several Japanese Wikis that
maintain lists of data as it becomes known. If you come across anything
that is not listed here, feel free to send me an email (address listed at
top), and I might include it in a later revision.

Ia. General Overview
Upon completing the Children's Master level of the Monster Arena, you will
be given your first key, which can be used to access a map that requires
you to complete a certain task, either as quickly as possible, as
flawlessly as possible, or defeat a boss within as few rounds as possible.
Should you finish the objective, the map will level up and either provide
a straight up reward, or a chance at a reward based on the current level
of the map, and bonus multipliers related to preformance.
Exampels of rewards are as follows:

A rare item
A rare weapon
A monster (awarded automatically, with a % roll to include extra skill set)
A rare monster
Examples of objectives are as follows:
Defeat a monster (boss level stats)
Collect gold as fast as possible (small amount)
Collect gold as fast as possible (larger amount)
Gain Experience as fast as possible
Defeat a number of a certain monster
Defeat a Foreign Master (2 sets of monsters)
Collect a certain amount of items
Dance with monsters as fast as possible without entering battle
A map's level determines the strength of monsters inside, as well as
the bonus multipliers upon completion, which will result in better rewards
(exp/gold) or a higher chance at winning the % roll.
Ib. Types of Keys
Green Keys:
These are keys that allow you to access the different main areas in the game.
They are Aquired as the story progresses and have no cooldown.
オアシスのカギ Oasis Key: Access the Desert Realm.
Obtained early in the first half of the main story.
かいぞくのカギ Pirate's Key: Access the Water Realm.
Obtained by winning the C Class monster arena.
こおりのカギ Ice Key: Access the Ice Realm.
Obtained during events following completion of the Water Realm.
てんくうのカギ Sky Key: Access the Sky Realm.
Obtained during events following completion of the Ice Realm.
はざまのカギ Ridge Key: Access the Ridge.
Obtained during events following completion of the Sky Realm.
やどりぎのカギ Yadorigi Key: Access the Yadorigi Tree Tower.
Reach the village on floor 2 of the Yadorigi Tree Tower, after
completing the Pyramid, Poseidon's Shrine, and the Lake Tower.
さいごのカギ Final Key: Access Estark's Area.
Obtained after completing the 2nd half of the main story.
Red Keys:
These are keys that allow you to access special areas and or events. They
are unlocked through various goals and or milestones.
メタルエリアのカギ Metal Area Key: Access the metal area map, where you can
fight Metal Slimes for a random number of battles. After
completing the first half of the story, Lone Metals will
also appear.
Obtained by winning the B Class Arena.
光あふれる地のカギ Land of Overflowing Light Key: After obtaining the Final
Key, speak with Postar in the section east of the shops
in the village.

勝ち抜きバトルのカギ Endless Battle Key: Prize for winning the S Rank monster
arena. You can participate in the S Rank battles by
brining a Buchislime to the little girl in one of the
houses on the east side of town.
Bronze Keys:
The worst quality randomized map generating key. They can be bought for
100g and cap at level 40.
かけだしの流れ星の砂漠のカギ Obtained by winning the Children's Class Arena
あわい鬼神の洞窟のカギ Obtained by winning the A Class Arena.
Silver Keys:
Intermediate quality randomized map generating key. They can be bought
for 1,000g and cap at level 60.
Gold Keys:
Good quality randomized map generating key. They can be bought for
10,000g and cap at level 80.
Platinum Keys:
Excellent quality randomized map generating key. They can be bought for
100,000g and cap at level 100.
Purple Keys:
These are unlocked through various events during the 2nd half of the main
story, and allow you to fight monsters. Should you win, you will obtain a
copy of that monster, and roll for a chance to gain an extra skill set.
おうじゃの試練のカギ Monarch's Trial Key: Defeat True Dragon Lord.
Allows you to fight King Azreal.
わだつみの試練のカギ Poseidon's Trial Key: Defeat Geno-Shidou.
Allows you to fight Poseidon.
もうじゅうの試練のカギ Trial of the Beast Key: Defeat Ashura Zoma.
Allows you to fight Hell Gorago.
とこやみの試練のカギ Key of Everlasting Darkness: Defeat Psycho Pisaro.
Allows you to fight Dark Matter.
Blue Keys:
These are obtained through the Wi-fi present booth in the network area, and
allow you to fight monsters similarly to purple keys. You will always obtain
the monster if you win, but you need to win the roll to get extra skills.
The Wi-fi present booth can be accessed one time each day, and will offer a
random key out of a set (which will probably change to a different set every
so often). If you decline, it will keep offering you different keys within
the current set until you either take one, or choose to exit.

せかいの雲 - Create this map and reset if it doesn't have Golden Golem as
one of the monsters. If it does, defeating a party of 4 Golden
Golems with any 1 'Gold Up' characteristic in your party will
instantly finish the quest and grant a large amount of gold as
a reward (140,000 at level 80). Use a gold key for this one,
so that the money cost to reset the cooldown stays low when it
is maxed out, and completeing it then resetting it to complete
again will always yeild 80k-100k profit. Even if you don't have
'Gold Up', two battles will win it for you.
せかいの鉄条 - Use this to make maps that will require a boss fight in order
to earn SS ranked monsters.
せかいのかあさん - Like above, any 3 of these for S ranked monsters.

____の鉄条 or かあさん - Use keywords associated with specific monster types
to get SS/S ranked monsters within those families.
そうだいな - Use with 貴族, 凶器, じいさん, 大臣, 大富豪 for each of the quest
types, resulting in high level equipment for rewards.
せかいの一角獣 - These maps will yield high level crafting materials such as
傾奇者 orbs and eyes, which are needed for higher-powered weapon
国王 upgrades, including the ones that raise upper-limit stat
caps upon level up.
せかいのお金持ち - This map will require you to collect gold (reset until you
get a Golden Golem) in get a reward of 500,000 xp that
only monsters in your main and standby party will
recieve, not monsters in your stock.
Id. Achievements and Titles
As you complete various tasks in the game, you will unlock Bronze/Silver/Gold
achievements. Each achievement comes with a keyword that can be used when
crafting randomized dungeon keys, which becomes available after completing
the first half of the main story. The first prefix will determine what type
of monsters appear on the map and how strong they are, and the 2nd will
determine the task to complete and difficulty of the task. Generally, the
prefixes tend to generate monsters associated with the achievement, IE the
"Soft" prefix will generate lower rank Slime Family monsters.
Note: collection rate refers to data collection, not having a copy of the
monsters in your party.

II. Reincarnation Monsters (転生モンスター)

Various monsters can spawn a pallette swap version of themselves called
a Reincarnation Monster, which will each reward a gold achievement and
keyword when scouted successfully. In order to get it to spawn, you need
to defeat a large amount of the monster in question. Some of the Tensei
Monsters can spawn anywhere on the map the monster is located on, while
others will spawn in a specific spot, so be sure to roam around as you
kill the target monster.

Vb. Reborn Monsters
New to DQM2 is the feature to rebirth monsters. Once you complete the
first part of the story and obtain the しんせいのタクト Baton of Rebirth, you
can breed two monsters with a total of +100 or more to create a super
monster with the rank SS+★. This will consume one しんせいの宝珠 Gem of
Rebirth, and allow the resulting monster to accquire two additional
characteristics; a third exclusive to that monster for reaching +100,
and one from the other monster you breeded with, which will take the
place of a characteristic of your choosing.
Be careful, some combinations that bypass a certain threshold will
also result in an additional, handicap characteristic being added to
your monster. Each characteristic is worth either a + value or a minus
value (exact values listed in characterisic section), and if the total
ends up as a positive number, one or more of the following handicaps
will be added based on monster rank and how many in the positive:
アンラッキー Unlucky - Causes misses, procs occasionally with >75% HP
オロオロ Flustered - Random chance of losing a turn
強者のよゆう Strength Overload - Won't act on some even-numbered rounds
自動MPダウン Auto MP Down - Lose 10% of MP at the end of a round
しょうひMPｘ2 Consumed MPx2 - Abilities and spells cost twice as much
ダメージ増ボディ Damage Increase Body - Take more damage as the battle
progresses on to later rounds.
ちょうはつ Aggravator - Chance to increase enemy's tension at battle start
ヘロヘロ Exhausted - Won't act on some odd-numbered rounds
In general, monsters can move up in body size to gain increased stats,
deal more damage, and fill more party slots, and gain an additional
characteristic based on what size they move up to. However, monsters
cannot move to a smaller body size. Also, any trait involving number of
turns on a giga or ultra-giga monster such as AI 3-4 actions per
round or AI 4 actions per round cannot be transfered to a smaller monster.
Also keep in mind that some characteristics will apply a stat modifier to
your monster's total stats, that will increase or decrease their max
HP, MP, atk, def, spd, and int values by a percentage.
Similarly, because these modifiers exist, if you trade a characteristic
on the list from a monster that has it inherently to remove it, their
stats will will rise, sometimes in an extreme manner. A good example
is removing 4 actions per round from an ultra-giga monster like True
Dragon Lord or Gran Estark, which will result in 1000-1500 of each
attribute and up to over 4000 HP. Here is a list of the modifiers:
Note: all refers to every attribute not explicitly listed. Two sets are
listed for some modifers; the first applies if either light metal body or
no damage modifying characteristic such as metal or hard metal body is
present, the second applies with metal, hard metal, ultra hard metal body

you will create a book monster with those skills (plus an additional
monster specific skill and some random skills for level 2 books) and
the same number of +/sex as the original monster.

you various tasks that involve talking to him with a certain monster in
your active or standby party. As you show him more monsters, he will
give you various rewards.

V. Street Pass Information
--------------------------------------
While playing Ranked or Free Wi-fi battles, you can randomly street pass
other players that you are matched up with. You can check how many
people you have passed by selecting the Street Pass Battle (3rd) option
from the main title screen. You can collect up to 8 people (and one
additional set of 8 people that will show up after you run through the
first set) at once, which includes passes from the SQEX Master on every
10th/20th pass, and passes from the Legendary Master on every 50th pass.
Fighting players in the Street Pass Battle allows for many rewards:
- Rare monsters from the NPC Masters that periodically show up
- Keys from other players (expect a lot of 175k gold and 500k xp keys)
- Hatching dreaming eggs
Dreaming eggs will slowly fill up with monsters you've fought in
Street Pass Battles and "?" monsters as you fight more people, and
when they are completely full you will get a chance to stop a
roulette on the monster you want. Some rare monsters and skills can
result from this. You must use your own eggs for this event, and
the higher quality egg, the harder it will be to stop the roulette
where you want.
When you win a battle against another player, you will get the key
they have chosen to share. When you win a battle against one of the
different types of NPC Masters, you will get a rare monster to join
you. You also get rewards in the form of monsters and items as you
win more battles.
Regardless of the outcome of the battle, an option pops up after each
time that asks if you want to save the pass, which will allow you to
use the second option on the Street Pass Battle Menu to view a list
of saved passes that you can fight at any time.
IMPORTANT: You can win a key from any single pass one time, and you
can also scout a monster from any pass one time. This is the only way
to get certain rare monsters that are distributed via Wi-fi hotspots
in Japan if you live overseas. Also, many people will offer monsters
that have extremely rare and useful skill sets, and or charactistics.
Any monster you scout in this manner will have a 'Guest' mark, which
means that you cannot use that monster in Wi-fi or Street Pass
Battle modes. In order to eliminate the 'Guest' mark, you must push
the original 'Guest' monster off the family tree entirely, which will
happen after breeding three times. Be careful to push any 'Guest'
marks off monsters BEFORE you use them in any rebirths. Any Tomes
created with 'Guest' monsters will also have the 'Guest' tag, which
can be removed in the same way after two times breeding, since the
initial breed that creates them counts as the first.
The best method to use here is to battle each of the passes and
save their monsters to your list, then exit back to the title screen
in order to save, then go through the list and scout monsters one
at a time until you find one you like. If you get one you don't like,
the game will not save until you return to the title screen, so you
can reset and still scout from the same pass until you find the
monster you want.
The ONLY time the game will save is when you return to the title
screen, and you will LOSE any accumulated passes if you check who
you have passed and then reset without going back to the title
screen. This means if you reset during the Dreaming Egg Roulette,
you will lose all passes from the current group.
