WW II Re-enactment in Rockford, IL

Well, it doesn't appear as if there will be a WoT Cantigny event
this year, so I'm going to put this out there as an alternative:
Midway Village Museum

is again hosting the
largest WW II Re-enactment event in the Midwest in Rockford, IL.
Beginning September 22, and ending on the 25th, there are
dinners, dances, battles, encampments, historical displays, and
many, many re-enactors representing USA, UK, France, Germany,
Japan, Russia, Poland, and Australia. Running armored and light
vehicles, as well as towed guns and equipment, will be on
display. Seen in the past were a Russian T-34

AT gun.
There will be mock battles and skirmishes throughout Saturday
and Sunday, with a big battle taking place in mid-afternoon of
each day.
There are plenty of nice hotels in the immediate area, but, if
you want to go, book now, as they will fill quickly.

Would be cool if we could get a bunch of us to meet up
there...thinking me, Sarge, Chilli, and a few others are close
enough to make the drive. We could pick a day, Saturday or
Sunday, and make it happen. I've cleared my calendar, so I'll be
there for at least one day.

Looks like we're set here. Me, Logonator, and possibly my
father-in-law. I think Saturday would be best.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. That way, I can rest up on
Sunday and play some tanks :gunning:
We should see if we can get Ruggers out here...he keeps
threatening to come out for a WG event, this would be better
since it lasts all weekend. :beer:

Looking over flights and life schedule today and
tomorrow......looks like $800 to $1000 trip. Should be doable if
these #$@%#$%#@$% pricks pay on the outstanding receivables i
have. :snarl:

Dulles in Virginia from 9/23-25 or 26.....just asked our company
travel agent to hook me up with flight, car, room - she what she
develops.
