Saturn leaned against the wall right outside of Purple's room, |
|
frowning slightly at her shut-and-locked door. She hadn't come |
|
out in daylight since the day she burned Lilycove, but he knew |
|
she came out at night. Or that there were elves stealing her |
|
favorite bags of chips--but Purple coming out at night seemed |
|
much more probable. Even more curious and disconcerting was that |
|
she only had Azelf in her room with her--Jack, Weather, Velo, |
|
and the rest of her main party were all roaming throughout the |
|
Galactic HQ. Thankfully they weren't causing trouble; apparently |
|
they need their trainer to wreak havoc. |
|
He knocked on the door lightly, then touched the doorknob. |
|
"Hey," Saturn said, trying to get some kind of response out of |
|
Purple. Nothing. "Come on, please?" |
|
Nothing. |
|
"You can't stay in there forever, you know, Purple." Normally, |
|
this would've been met with a "try me" or "watch me", but was |
|
instead now met with silence. An almost eerie silence. |
|
"Please...?" Another plea, met with more silence. "Purple, it's |
|
been weeks. You can't live off of chips and you can't live in |
|
that room forever, and you know it. Come on. I'm not angry with |
|
you. There's already an agreement with Archie--but you're kinda |
|
not allowed anywhere near Lilycove anymore. Just... come on. |
|
Please, Purple. I know you can hear me." |
|
A long stretch of more silence. Saturn didn't say anything, but |
|
kept standing at the door. |
|
Silence broken, but not by Purple's voice. Rather, Weather |
|
bolted down the hallway, mewing urgently, before stopping and |
|
scratching at Purple's door. Saturn stepped back, confused; Jack |
|
quickly skidded down the hallway and toasted Purple's doorknob |
|
off before kicking the door in. Saturn watched as Jack leapt |
|
over to Purple and snatched something out of her hand; Purple |
|
let out a short bark of protest as Jack padded back towards |
|
Saturn. |
|
There was a knife in his jaws. A knife undoubtedly snatched from |
|
Purple. The Houndoom dropped the knife at Saturn's feet, a |
|
pleading and sorrowful look in his eyes as he whimpered and |
|
glanced back at his melancholy trainer. Saturn sighed, patted |
|
Jack on the head, and walked over to Purple. |
|
"You--when did you get that?" Saturn asked, looking back at the |
|
blade on the floor. |
|
"Night. I'm shocked you didn't notice." Purple spoke, though it |
|
was flatly and yet choked with sadness. |
|
"Purple..." Saturn sighed and sat down next to her, then hugged |
|
her. "I'm not angry, you know." |
|
Purple hiccup-sobbed and hugged him back. "I know... I know... |
|
I'm sorry..." |
|
"Please," Saturn muttered, running his hands through her hair |
|
gently, "Never scare me like that again." |
