After finding my chewed up glasses on the floor (yay German
Shepherd. Arg.)...
I am now unabashedly eating my feelings. Seriously, brownies
are delicious.
But I am now wearing taped up glasses and need to spend $500+ on
a new pair. Great. I was so upset yesterday that I was crying,
nauseous, & threw up. Twice. Yeah.
F*ck f*ck f*ck f*ck f*ck.
Brownies do make me feel a little better though.

When I got my new glasses, I was excited because my first
impression of the new place (no more Kaiser :-( Best glasses
ever) was great. For the first time, the person did not make me
feel like a freak, did not belittle me, and handled herself
greatly. However, when I came in to pick them up, I was greeted
by someone else. She immediately laughed at me and did the
typical "WOW--I've never seen glasses like this before! WHOA"
thing. There were some other things that made my skin crawl
too.
And another thing I don't like: when other people joke about
their vision and it makes you feel awful. Like they say "oh boy
I'm blind!!" or "My vision is the worst" or "Wow, you're worse
than me!"
I know, for the most part, people don't intend on being rude or
simply don't know that other people may be sensitive. I myself
complain and still know I'm relatively blessed--but I always try
to be sensitive to others. In psychology, these little slights
are called "micro aggressions." They can be about race,
disability, gender, anything. They appear harmless on the
surface, but if you get it all the time, it can have an effect.
This is why thick skin is born :-/
