Invio - [VG] The War Z Role-playing Server
By: StephenJackson Date: February 11, 2013, 4:23 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Our server will be considered the "game-world". The name of this
world is Invio. Therefore our version is set in the land of
Invio. We have chosen this name because it means "Wasteland" in
Latin..
The History of Invio
Before the zombie apocalypse, Invio was formerly the state of
Colorado in the United States of America. It was a thriving
state, with pockets of communities spread through out the land.
Its two biggest cities were Campos and Boulder City. Campos was
at the heart of Colorado, a bustling and lively city from which
the state was run by the government. While Boulder City was
situated further north, and was surrounded by water on all
sides.
With reports of a Zombie apocalypse emerging from across the
globe, panic started to spread throughout the US. The first
signs of the virus appeared in Seattle, and swiftly spread,
consuming the nation and wiping out 99% of the population in the
process. Small groups of survivors banded together, but as the
undead outnumbered the living, supplies ran low and bandits
ruled the wasteland, one by one these groups perished.
Colorado had a very strong religious following, and it was this
faith which many turned too. The "Wasteland" became known as
Invio. The name stuck...
The Factions
As the survivors began to accept their situation, they often
splited into two categories. Those who wanted to rebuild the
world around them, and those set on making life a living hell
for anyone but themselves. Each side naturally adopted its own
territory and borders, but where never contempt with what they
had. Throughout the years, several wars broke out between the
factions. Thankfully, recent weeks have bought times of peace,
giving each faction time to resupply and gain much needed rest.
Below is a list of factions fighting in Invio
The Government
Members of the government and military at the time of the
outbreak manged to survive the initial apocalypse and the years
which followed. This band of survivors settled in the North of
Invio. The "Capital" of Invio is Blue Ridge, a safe settlement
where the government troops and citizens are safe from the
zombies and other factions which roam Invio.
Its surrounding territory stretches from Crystal Lake, down to
Clearview and left to Smallville.
This small pocket is considered easier to defend and provides
the citizens with the supplies they need to survive.
The Black Guard
The Warlord clan have no intentions of restoring peace or
uniting all factions together. Instead they would rather do as
they please. Raiding other factions territory, cities and towns
to get the supplies they need to survive.
Anyone travelling through bandit territory can expected to be
followed and ambushed, always laying in wait and always
prepared, the bandits are the ultimate guerilla fighting force.
The bandits are very similar to the psychopaths, except they
have grouped together to cause more mayhem.
Everyone is an enemy to the Warlord Clan.
Tycho Darkwaters Security Services
The TDSS have a HQ but no territory. After finding their way to
Colorado, they decided to set up in the abandoned Police Station
in Frosty Pines. They view themselves as mercenaries for hire,
however they are neutral with the Government who allow them
access to the Safezone.
They gather what resources they can from the settlements in
Colorado, and offer their services to other factions in exchange
for resources.
Their prefered method of playing is in tactical groups, sneaking
up on others and remaining undetected.
However as with other factions, they will not KOS unless they
see you as a direct threat to their faction.
Merchant's Guild
Gildam Mercatoria
Also know as the merchant guild is a faction that has recently
moved into Colorado and consolidated themselves there through
trading and commerce.
They are known to scavenge the battlefields after the battles
are over, though they often also participate in these battles
themselves, often with hired bodyguards amongst them.
They welcome all factions into their settlement for trading
purposes, though if it is a faction that they are currently at
war with they will be escorted by armed guards after having
shown that they carry no weapons on them.
The Merchants guild are known to liberally use Military grade
weapons to protect their goods and have often shown some skill
in using these weapons.
There are rumours that a branch of the Merchants guilds do not
wait till after the battle is over to scavenge the goods but
simply take them from people, however
this is simply unsubstantiated rumours and have not been proved
to be true.
The merchants generally travel in groups of 1-3 though larger
caravans have been known to travel the country side.

So the Psychopaths own no land whatsoever? I guess that's the
role of lost wanderers in an apocalypse. As for the unnamed
clan, they are bandits. Should they be organized (E.g: The Great
Khans from Fallout: New Vegas who reside in Red Rock Canyon)
they should have some name that provokes a sense of superiority,
domination and, ultimately, mercilessness. Should they be
disorganized (E.g: Fiends from Fallout: New Vegas) they should
possess a name that strikes fear into their enemies, asserts a
powerful but somewhat limited control and should be sporadic:
random, usually makes a little reference to the actual history
of the clan but not by much.

Sounds good, Although I'm thinking that a more organized warlord
clan would be easier to manage and implement in our scenario.
But there is nothing stopping them breaking off an starting a
civil war between themselves ;)
Our ideas for a name for this clan?
And I also need a Leader for the Peoples Republic of Invio, any
volunteers?

Since we don't have a PRI clan created yet, you could create
your own clan to take over the PRI spot. This faction can be
totally different to the PRI.
These were just some basic structures I invented, but if someone
wants their own faction, then it can take the place of the PRI
:)

Well, i did make something of a clan for the Dark Eden project,
but they never answered me back on if it was alright.
I will ofcourse change this to meet PRI standards, if
acceptable.
Let me know if it's doable.

I allow this faction in-place of PRI if you will take the Castle
Pine as your Safe settlement rather than Blue Ridge?
Or do you wish it to be a sub-division of Invio Government?
